Relish your scream
Tumblr media
vampire!Bucky Barnes x female reader
summary: Better the devil you know, but what if going to the Scaretale with someone you're already acquainted with doesn't mean you're completely safe? What if the club isn't your doom, but merely enhances the darkness that was already setting its trap for you?
warnings: vampire!Bucky; dark!Bucky; heavy dub-con; mind compulsion; biting; blood sucking; blood play; forced public nudity (partial); oral (f receiving); sex; captivity; objectification as a kink; conditioning;
word count: 5.4k
Author's Note: I was a little disappointed you voted vampire for Bucky, because there are so many amazing stories with vampire Bucky and I feared I won't be able to create anything fresh. But I wrote it in a specific vibe, amping up the vampire bite into very debauched kind of blood play. Perhaps that can count as something new 😜 This story is the fifth one in the Scaretale universe.
Tumblr media
The cab driver was insistent on stopping half a street away from the entrance to the club. He was one of those superstitious people who feared magic tricking him, or a monster luring him to his doom, if he found himself within Scaretale’s range.
You wanted to claim it’s silly, but the rumor was that the club was created and belonged to a dark fae. Who knows what their magic could do. Maybe the cabbie was right to keep his distance.
Unfortunately, for you it meant that you had to walk down the cracked pavement in your high heels to reach the club.
It dawned on you much earlier, soon after you agreed to the terms, that meeting him in a club catered to monsters wouldn’t really provide you any safety. It would be his domain while you felt on the edge for the whole evening. Or night. However long he decided it had to last.
But he had that smooth, dark charm about him, making it appear as a reasonable public space to collect the debt.
As you walked towards the impressive building, which glowed from within like a cursed castle, you tried to convince yourself that the place of your meeting didn’t matter anyway. You wouldn’t have any sort of upper hand no matter the place you sat in.
Because there was something about James Barnes that put you to attention at any given moment. As if your body was attuned to his presence. Like a deer may be aware of a wolf prowling nearby.
James was a coworker at the high levels of the international company you both worked for. And sort of a work rival, too.
He was courteous, always well mannered and classy. Dressed like that, too. He was driven at work, reaching each set goal with unwavering determination and skills. Honestly, you had reasons to admire him and admit he was fucking good at his job. Sometimes you inwardly joked that you want to be like James Barnes when you grow up.
There wasn’t really any competition between you two, none of you were threatened with the prospect of losing anything if the other’s department scored a few more points in the quarter.
It was the smidge of inadequacy that made you often eye Barnes as a threat. Coming out of your own insecurities, you suspected.
You were damn good at your job and at leading people. It’s just that you were… messy.
Not a complete disaster, but a little chaotic and sometimes lost, sometimes too soft, especially considering the sharks that swam in the ocean of legal (and illegal) deals you worked with.
Compared to Barnes, you were chaotic and bouncy.
But not everyone could stride through the room like a lethal blade slicing through fabric.
Barnes could.
Everything about him screamed danger, even when he offered a charming smile, or bought doughnuts for the whole floor. Though you watched people let down their guards around him, treating him like a harmless, cute man.
Was it only you that experienced that pulse of wariness whenever he walked into a room?
Perhaps, it was that aura of a vampire…
You’re still not sure what prompted you to bet him. Confrontations weren’t your preferred model of operating. Especially towards men you were both fascinated and scared of. Maybe you just wanted to prove to yourself that your bubbly style was as effective as Barnes’ cutthroat smoothness.
You veiled it as a team challenge (which both of your teams actually took as a fun twist to their usual hard work, including some subtle ribbing). If you won, you’d get to take over Barnes’ fancy office for a whole week.
It’s not like it would bother him much, since he worked evening to sunrise hours, while you were a day worker.
But you were the messy one and it made you giggle as you thought of leaving your usual chaos in his pristine space.
When you proposed that, Barnes held your gaze with those incredibly steel-blue eyes. Not a twitch of annoyance on his stupidly handsome face (that half of the skyscraper was pinning after). No, he was seizing you up and calculating his potential gain. Which made your pulse skip.
You still remembered how his eyes shifted to your pulse point and your thighs clenched as you thought of his teeth sinking into your neck.
He agreed to the bet, demanding your company, if he won.
Which he had.
There was a flood of tangled thoughts and doubts when you realized you agreed to be his for one night. Did he mean his night as his work day, making you do any assistant, slaving work just for the kicks? Or did he mean it as owning you for a night, as in…
His chuckle was like a tap on your cheek, stirring you from your trance when you barged into his office, needing him to explicitly state what exactly he expected of you. Then relief filled you when he explained that he wanted you as his company for a meeting. Said he’s old fashioned like that.
James didn’t mention the dress code, just told you where and what time to come. You could be a brat about it and appear in jeans and a hoodie, but you considered yourself to be honorable and a good sport. You lost a bet, but you wouldn’t be a sore loser, or petty. There was also a part of you that wanted to impress Barnes, to show yourself as someone who could pull off a fancy look.
In your sparkling red heels and black, silk dress, you walked up the stairs of the Scaretale with your chin raised high.
The club’s dark interior was a surprise. From the outside it appeared to be glowing, full of light and mischief, but, as you stepped in, velvet darkness wrapped around you like a shawl.
There were points of light, but they were dimmed. A whisper of mystery and horror slithered around, quickly getting lost in the growing warmth of spicy seduction.
It was a place known for encouraging lust and romance, but you didn’t expect the sensual brush of it to tease your skin.
Perhaps it was why your breath hitched when your eyes met James’ across the room.
His icy eyes always held a particular intensity, but as he watched you now it sent a ripple of something hot and exciting through your body.
As you neared him, your heart clenched in fear, before restarting with a flutter. James was your coworker, but in this setting you lost any sense of safety around him. He was someone different here. More himself, than the persona he played in public. More the ancient beast.
And the core of him you met that evening was scaring you.
He greeted you softly, saying your name in a way that sounded intimate and possessive. His hand rested on the small of your back as he led you toward a nook in the wall that was separated from the rest of the floor by an iron-wrought railing and heavy, black curtains draped to the sides.
There was a rectangular table in the middle of the small room he led you to, with velvet benches surrounding it instead of chairs. Chandeliers dripping black crystals hung above, casting a soft light that didn’t fully disperse the shadows.
“Please, sit beside me.” James pointed to one side of the table. He kept standing until you sat down, then slid right next to you.
“Would you like something to drink?” He asked, sliding closer when you tried to put a few inches of space between you.
“White wine, please.” You nervously twisted your fingers in your lap.
A few seconds later a waitress appeared by the railing, though you didn’t see James summon anyone. Well, they sure had some top, attentive staff in here. You were surprised when Barnes ordered a specific brand of wine, stressing to bring it sweet.
“Why sweet?” You liked most of the whites, including some of the dry, so it didn’t really matter to you.
When James’ gaze flicked to you, it appeared it mattered greatly to him.
“Because you’re sweet.” He stated.
A sudden thought of him referring to your blood’s flavor made you both hot and extremely cold with terror, but his next words made that reaction appear silly.
“Wearing all those pastels and headbands with crystals and pearls. And everytime we happen to be in the same meeting, you’re always drinking pink grapefruit soda. You’re a sweetling.”
His eyes slowly dragged down your form. You couldn’t help the quickening of your heart rate as you felt his gaze move along your body. Again, you were certain his focus lingered on where your veins pulsed beneath your skin.
“I admit I’m quite surprised to see you in black,” when he spoke, it was lighter, more teasing. There was even a hint of that charming smile that disarms people.
“Thought it’s best to match you, since I’m your company for this important meeting,” you shrugged.
He still didn’t express what your expected role was. If it was a business meeting, was he going to lean on you for advice? Or were you an arm candy, only there to provide a nice accent and be a trinket of power? Many conservative men still conducted their business meetings, or public appearances with that mindset. Maybe vampires did too.
“I appreciate it.” James smiled at you. There was a satisfied gleam in his eyes, but darker and hungrier than simple appreciation of your thoughtfulness.
A voice in your head whispered that perhaps it wasn’t a good idea to cater to a monster's whims, even to those of a polished, cultured one. Perhaps it was even worse than if you goaded a barely leashed werewolf.
Because James was incredibly smart and cunning, and you were beginning to suspect that he had the ability to manipulate your reactions without you even realizing you were playing into his game.
When the waitress appeared with your glass of wine, James took it from her and handed it to you. Your fingers brushed against his cold ones, the contact sending a jolt down your spine. His skin was cold, yet you felt a sense of warmth unfurl in your belly.
As if his mere touch heated up your blood. Which had to be a very dangerous thing, considering he was a blood sucking vampire.
“Mhmm, you smell sweet, too.” He hummed, tilting his head so that his nose almost brushed a spot behind your ear.
“James!” You gasped, fingers tightening on the thin stem of your wine glass.
A surge of trepidation took over as your instincts reminded you of being in proximity of the most dangerous predator. It wasn’t a good omen when a vampire commented on your tempting smell. Because it meant at some point he might want to verify if your taste matched.
Yet the cold thought of it sucked your nipples into straining points.
You took a sip of your wine. Then another one, in hope of relaxing your body enough to hide certain reactions.
“Call me Bucky, please.” His voice sounded like a seductive whisper. It reminded you of a hot tickle against your ear, or neck, which you sometimes experienced when writhing on your bed amidst a wet dream.
If your imagination was wilder, you’d wonder if this vampire had something to do with the sex dreams which occasionally haunted you on those rare stormy nights.
“Okay, Bucky,” you smiled up at him, hanging onto the comfort of breaking a certain barrier between you two, by being allowed to use his nickname. You didn’t think you heard anyone at work call him that.
His eyes darkened. He traced his fingers along the back of your neck, before settling his whole, big hand on your shoulder.
“Say it again,” he demanded.
“Bucky,” you said it softly, sensing unbearable tension growing between the two of you.
“Sweetling.” His low growl reverberated right against your clit.
You would hope he didn’t notice you clenching your thighs, but with how his own leg was pressed to yours, there was no doubt he felt the shift.
Suddenly, his eyes sharpened, his gaze briefly shifting above your head before returning to you. His hold on your shoulder relocated as his arm smoothed around and down your back, his fingers digging into your waist as he pulled you closer to his side.
“Don’t speak.” Bucky ordered in a hushed tone. “Don’t engage, even if he tries to address you. Just sit quietly beside me and drink your wine. And follow my lead.”
“An accessory,” you nodded, taking a sip of sweet alcohol. You didn’t feel particularly disappointed with being reduced to quiet arm candy. It wasn’t your meeting, nor for a business of your department, so you felt no urge to prove yourself.
“You’ll be good, sweetling.” He declared, as if you had no option but to obey.
As his eyes held your gaze, you felt something shift inside you. Like a thin string wrapping itself around your throat. Its other end seemed to be in Bucky’s hand. An invisible leash that compelled you to follow his lead, just like he said you should.
Compelled… The word echoed in your head, scratching against your skull with some knowledge you couldn’t remember.
You focused on it and on the sweet taste of the wine as someone entered your space. You cast a quick glance at the large man, but remained glued to Bucky’s side like he wanted. Their words flew in and out of your ears, actual information barely sticking with your awareness. You were more entranced with Bucky’s voice.
And the way his fingers started running up and down your arm. Cold, yet enticing that very lively sensation.
Words about takeover alerted your mind, but then that shiny, invisible leash tugged on you gently and your brain settled back into its comfort of focusing on Bucky.
At some point, his teasing fingers closed around your hand and he brought it to his lips. He kissed the soft part below your thumb then pressed his mouth to your wrist. Right over where your pulse danced.
Your body tensed at once, a pained gasp leaving your lips as Bucky’s fangs pierced your skin.
He bit you without any warning. Like it was his privilege.
Tears filled your eyes as you looked up at him with a flare of betrayal. His gaze shifted from the other man to settle on you, even as his lips remained sealed into your wrist, sucking slow sips of your warm blood.
Be good, sweetling. His voice filled your head.
It hurts. You weren’t even aware that your whine didn’t form into actual words spoken aloud, but was merely a pathetic sound accompanying your thoughts.
Does it? Bucky’s eyebrow arched as he drew more of your blood in, then swiped his tongue along your sensitive, punctured skin.
You blinked, dazed. When he bit you there was pain, but as he sucked you… You felt the throbbing in your wrist, but its echo was a more pleasurable beat that had your nipples and clit thrumming.
You watched Bucky lick his lips clean and return to his conversation with ease, as if taking your blood was nothing more than sipping a drink. Which he did again a few minutes later, lifting your hand and sinking his fangs a little lower into your forearm.
A soft, little cry spilled out of your mouth, but your legs parted wider to ease your throbbing clit.
There was no previous agreement to Bucky drinking from you, yet somehow you didn’t resist as he took. Your body simply molded to his demand. Your brain resisted, angry and sobbing at the inability to fight, but that rebellion came and went like sparks of a badly functioning electricity.
You didn’t want it, didn’t consent to it, but it felt so good. Made you a good kind of dizzy. Ligheaded, like you had one glass of champagne too much. Your usually buzzing body felt softened and pliant.
For once you were calm and nestled, not a chaotic shard not fitting to the surroundings.
You spread your legs wider. The table separated and obscured the view of you from the stranger, but you had an inkling that the arousal trickling between your folds wafted into the air.
It sure reached Bucky’s senses. Behave, his hand on your waist tightened its grip.
I am, you boldly replied to the phantom voice in your head and promptly brought the glass of wine to your lips. You drank half of it in one go.
A part of you expected Bucky to act rashly. To show irritation or impatience, but then again you never saw him lose the winter cool of his demeanor. He didn’t react to your mental hiccup either, simply carrying on the conversation with the other monster.
However, his hand smoothed up your arm slowly. Fingertips danced over the puncture wounds which he sealed with a swipe of his tongue, then traveled upwards.
He took the thin strap of your dress between his thumb and forefinger and dragged it down your shoulder. Black fabric covering your breast fell down, swaying in a soft roll right above your nipple. Just when you thought his retaliation was driven to the max, Bucky’s hand skimmed over your collarbone and down to the swell of your breast.
Voice not wavering even once, as he kept talking over some business details, Bucky slipped his fingers under the silk of your dress and took your tit out.
No! Your humiliated consciousness screamed silently.
Bucky remained unphased. He exposed your breast, running his fingertips around the areola and flicking your puckered nipple.
When the other man started talking, simply continuing the conversation as if you weren’t lewdly displayed in front of him, Bucky tipped you back. The arm around you tightened, supporting your back. His other hand cupped your breast as he sank his teeth into the soft tissue.
More wetness pooled in your core, even as pain from the bite zapped your synapses.
You were nothing but a chalice of wine from which Bucky sipped whenever he wanted. However he wanted to.
A morsel to bite and chew slowly.
He didn’t seal that bite right away, so the blood trickled down slowly as he helped you back into a sitting position, cuddled to his side. You felt the warm liquid gather atop your nipple into a ruby drop.
Bucky swiped it with his thumb, teasing your nub as he did.
When he brought the thumb to his mouth to suck it clean, you stared up at him in horror and awe. That handsome face with chiseled jawline and cheekbones, pale pink lips wrapped around a marble white, thick thumb. As he released his finger, you saw a flash of his teeth - a smudge of your blood covering them.
His thumb was coated with Bucky’s saliva as he brought it down to rub over the bite, sealing your wound.
The hand on your waist gripped your elbow when you attempted to reach for the strap and cover yourself back. Leave it, Bucky’s low command resounded in your head. What?! No! Why? It was indecent! He wasn’t even drinking from you anymore. Just holding you partially naked and humiliated.
Because I wish so and you’re mine to do whatever I please.
There wasn’t even a seductive lilt of teasing to his tone. It was a richly dark declaration of ownership you didn’t expect.
You wanted to protest, to scream it out at him that you didn’t want it. That even if some aspects of his actions were arousing you, you weren’t his to treat like a toy, or blood bag. That’s when your memory flashed back to the exact conversation you had with Bucky when you negotiated the rules of the bet.
What you interpreted as company for one night, for this particular meeting, was never in fact stated as limited. Bucky never said for one evening. He only demanded that you’d give him your company.
Now, his voice returned, as calm as before, sit still and drink your wine, or I’ll take your other tit out.
Anger and despair flared inside you, as hot as the wave of dark excitement that turned the fabric of your panties into a soaked mess sticking to your folds.
What he said and did to you was bolder and filthier than you tried with any of your former lovers. It didn’t only push, but crossed your boundaries. But even as he did something so unpredictable like undressing you in public, there was calculated deliberation in it. Cold, lethal precision strumming your responsive pressure points.
Will you let him drink from me? For some reason, you clenched your fingers on Bucky’s suit jacket, clinging to him as terror of what might actually happen took over.
No. You’re mine. Came his instant, firm response.
But there was only silence when your panicked voice asked, Will you kill me?
He left you hanging with that worry as he wrapped up his meeting. The wine kept your blood rushing warm, as did Bucky’s closeness, but your heart started to drag with growing dread. Needing something to anchor yourself to, you stared at the rings on Bucky’s fingers.
It was only when his voice reached your ears that your head snapped up and you realized the other man was gone.
“You did really well for your first time, sweetling.” Bucky’s fingers gently took your chin.
Despite the allure of his eyes and his hold on you, the spark of dread spread into a sticky web that filled you with all sorts of cold, breath-stealing fears. His choice of words was deliberate. Everything Bucky did was. So it meant he planned on there being a second, a third, and more events similar to that night.
Bucky took your empty wine glass and placed it on the table. Then he readjusted your dress and helped you up onto your feet. He narrowed his eyes for a moment, muttering something about getting you a proper coat.
A waitress waited by the exit, handing you a to-go cup of something hot as Bucky led you toward the door. Your fingers wrapped around the warm cup, scenting something sweet.
You had a thought of making a scene, making a run for it, but this place was filled with monsters who, undoubtedly, would be on his side. And Bucky was a damn vampire, who could probably catch you before you made half a step.
Also, whatever was in that cup was really tempting you to drink. And his hand on your back felt nice, too.
As Bucky guided you down the steps, a sleek, black car stopped at the curb. Some young man jumped from the driver’s side and gave Bucky keys with a deep bow. Huh, you didn’t know they had valets here.
Bucky helped you into the passenger’s seat and buckled your seatbelt. So engulfed by the cozy warmth and spicy scent, you didn’t think to use the moment of him walking to the driver’s side to try and escape.
But the question returned, rolling out on your tongue as Bucky cut through the city with speed right on the edge of limit.
“Are you going to kill me?”
“Not yet.” Bucky’s calm, simple response was like a blade piercing through your chest.
“The process is more complicated. There are rules-” he paused, hearing your intake of breath. When he looked at you, you were curling in on yourself and leaning against the side door, like you wanted to blend into it and disappear.
Something flashed in his blue eyes and after a moment you were pulling away from the door and sitting back in your seat.
Bucky’s fingers cupped your chin. Even with only one hand on the steering wheel he had full control of the car.
“I’m not disposing of you, sweetling.” He assured you. “You’re my feeder. And will become my companion.”
Companion. It echoed in your head. You agreed to be his company. But you didn’t know it meant something more for a vampire.
The bites on your body pulsed with awareness, reminding you of the way he sunk his teeth into you. You wondered if his cock would sink into you with the same seductive firmness.
Your previous dizziness from the blood loss was nothing compared to the chaos that Bucky’s revelation brought. On the way to his estate he explained more, stating details of his plans for you as if he was reporting something obvious. Each sentence of the fate he weaved for you, however, leashed on your skin like a lick of flogger. Hurting and pushing your mind toward a cloudy space.
With some last remnants of panicked will, you attempted to run when he parked in front of an impressive estate. He caught you in a blink of an eye. Then those blue eyes were staring into yours and an invisible leash tugged on you, calming you into compliance.
He made you drink that hot chocolate, which you got in the to-go cup, as he steered you through the corridors of the mansion. Rich sweetness filled your mouth and brought a sense of regeneration.
The cup dropped forgotten when Bucky brought you into his bedroom. Somewhere between his words about keeping you here with him for two years, until you learned all the rules, all the expectations and attuned to your role at his side, he unzipped your dress and pushed it down to the floor.
Your hands against him held zero strength as he spread you on his massive bed, your attempts at fighting him off melting as his teeth scraped along your naked body.
“Your blood tastes like decadent chocolate” Bucky hummed against your hip bone. “I bet your cunt tastes just as sweet.”
He ripped away your soaked panties then spread your thighs wide apart. His lips mouthed against the delicate skin of your inner thighs. You knew there were some crucial arteries there and you wondered how much it would hurt when he bit into one.
But he didn’t. Instead, Bucky kissed further up. He licked the seam between your thigh and cunt, then traced your outer lips with his tongue.
It was atop your mound, a breath away from your clit, where he slowly, torturously slow, sunk his teeth in.
You screamed and he held you down.
He didn’t suck your blood right away, but pulled back and watched it trickle down onto your glistening pussy. Dark red juice dripped down your clit and between your swollen folds.
Bucky dove in. Feasting on your cunt with reverence and hunger he didn’t display before. He licked your blood and your slick, mixed them on you and on his tongue. His growling, near animalistic sounds vibrated against your sensitive core.
He made you come while he made you bleed. Licking and swallowing your wetness; holding your hips down in his strong grip as your body twisted and writhed in pleasure-and-pain.
Then he drew another blinding climax out of you, driving two of his ringed fingers into your sopping cunt and at the same time sinking his teeth back into the open bite atop your mound.
He closed your wound, but didn’t wipe away the blood as he kissed up your body. When he bit your breast, he let the blood drip down the swell of it, too, before licking it off your skin in tantalizing, sensual strokes.
You hurt from the bites, but Bucky’s mouth and touch brought you so much exquisite pleasure.
He drank from both your breasts, smudging your blood all over his mouth as he kissed your skin through the ruby mess. Closed the wounds with a teasing lick of his tongue, before flicking it against your hardened nipple and sucking on it so hard you felt that suck on your clit.
“You’re delicious, sweetling.” Bucky rasped against your ear. “And such a good girl for me.”
You felt the nudge of his cock between your folds. Your hips rocked up eagerly, but your weakened arms drew between your bodies to push him away.
Sensations were overwhelming. You feared that your brain might completely shut down, if Bucky added to it the stretch of his cock and ripping pleasure of being fucked.
Gently, he pried your hands away from his chest and placed your arms next to your head on the mattress. He pinned them down as he rolled his hips into you.
“Gotta do it, sweetling,” he hushed your mewls. “Gotta break your body before sunrise, so your mind starts to learn to sleep all through the sunny day.”
“It’ll take weeks to fully break you.” Bucky sneaked one of his hands between your bodies, to guide his cock into your entrance. “I’ll exhaust you over and over again, until your body conditions itself to shutting down with sunlight and waking up at sunset. Until you’re molded to me.”
Your lips parted on a strained moan as he slowly penetrated you.
Just like you suspected, Bucky drove his cock into you with a firm, steady stroke, just like he sunk his teeth into your skin.
As his dick stretched your pussy, Bucky kissed you. Sensual and languid. Getting you drunk on his lips and taste like the most potent wine. He welcomed your yielding moan with a victorious growl.
Then, as the head of his cock nestled against your cervix and he bottomed out, Bucky’s fangs dipped into your lips.
You clenched around him, your body tensing like a cord as he drew blood from your mouth. He sipped on you, forcing some of the metallic sweetness of your own blood onto your tongue.
Bucky soothed your lips with a swipe of his tongue, before lifting his weight on his forearms. He looked down at you - all dark, ruthless beauty of him, with eyes glinting winter storm and mouth red with your blood.
There were smudges of red on his torso, as well, from where his body pressed into the bloody mess he created as he drank from various spots on your chest and belly.
“You already take me so well and feed me so sweetly,” he said, licking remnants of your taste off his bottom lip, “you’ll learn to take all the pleasure and pain I give you. And someday you’ll take my blood and I’ll show you what ecstasy of a vampire feels like.”
With that he withdrew, only to slam back in a hard snap. Your body jolted, your back arching.
You were so weak, so lightheaded. Exhaustion was pulling you into darkness. But the way Bucky was fucking you bursted through that dark with fireworks. His name was a broken cry on your lips, so soft it may have been a whisper. Or a prayer.
“I deliberately had the sheets changed to white.” Bucky mused, driving into you harder, making your legs jerk helplessly with each thrust of his hips.
“Wanted to see the stains from your cum and blood on it. You make such a pretty mess.”
Your consciousness drifted away completely after he tipped you into another orgasm, relishing in the way you screamed and clenched around him. Your body was boneless as he chased his own release, groaning it not soon after you floated into sleep.
To him you looked most beautiful: spread out on the crumpled sheets, your body smeared with blood and bearing marks of his bite. Stains of red and acidic wetness splattered the sheets between your legs.
Bucky leaned down, one more time biting into your mound. A shallow wound this time. Just so he could watch your blood slowly trickle down in a thin stream and mix with his cum dripping out of your fluttering pussy.
You remained unconscious when he cleaned you up. As well when he ripped away soiled sheets and replaced them with a set of fresh ones and climbed into bed next to you. He held you in his embrace as you slept through the day that stretched outside; heavy, black-out curtains preventing a single sunray from sneaking inside.
When you’d wake up late in the afternoon, Bucky was going to provide you with a hearty meal and adequate vitamins. He’d tell you more of the rules. Then he’d break your body again.

Tumblr media Tumblr media
i’m srry i had to
anywayyyyy
okay so i got this idea, could u write about some cute moments between achilles and (fem)reader who loves the beach/anything that has to do w the sea?maybe like a drabble or smth??idk if this is vague but lmk
hahaha, hi!!
( woow, you pick your graphic intros and everything. that shows dedication i love it 💕)
Absolutely, I can do this.
Also, this will be super fitting because, despite the movie left it up to interpretation, his mom is a nereid (greek deity of the sea). When he is not fighting the job of Achilles is beach lol.
It turned out longer than a drabble because I kept thinking on your Achilles x girly/fashionista reader ask from last time and it kinda influencied me into doing a full oneshot mixing bits of both ideas.
Sea lover reader is also a capital city girl moving to Phthia who is quite girly and with a bubbly personality, enjoy <3

Warnings: Mention to the sociopolitical things going arround in the Greece of the film ( Agamemnon's imperialism and the big picture civilizatory plan he mentions to Nestor in the scene where he convinces him of calling Achilles through Odysseus.)

Vocabulary note: Strophion is an ancient times equivalent of a strapless bra, piece of greek clothing that can be imagined to resemble a bathing suit.
A deep love for the sea had allways been a part of you, so wherever fate would take you it was your hope to forever remain near the beach. Movings weren't usual in your life, used as you were to a comfortable lifestye in Mycenae as the daughter of a royal scribe. However, your father was a functionary for an empire in constant expansion. Official scribes were required everywhere to keep registered records and contribute to public order. The pretended civilizatory mission of King Agamemnon counted with that, so it wasn't a great surprise to hear he intended to relocate him on the most conflictive territory of his domains.
Myrmidons had a fame of being the fiercest soldiers of Greece, and his disdain for their strongest local leader was a threat to the very core of the order he intended to establish. Raising the mycenaean presence on the region was his idea to balance things. Populating through migrations of qualified officials and their families was his idea to stabilize politics and he was quite proud of it. So much that he even took the iniciative telling your family about it by himself, never missing the chance of doing awkward jokes only he would find funny.
As he charmingly enlisted the perks of his new position to your father, he punctualized one single downside. With his attention shortly deviated on you, Agamemnon playfully warned him to watch over his beautifull daughter from Achilles and his men.
The attempt of polite praise failed, but you pretended to go on with it to avoid upsetting him. Not surprised, but crushed by the news, all you did was asking if your new home had sight of the sea.
Phthia was a rocky territory where mountains were more abundant than fields, but it also had increíble beaches that became your only comfort in the arrival. As peacefull representatives of an occupation force, your presence was inpopular. Among the multiple functions of scribes there were a few that could be considered benefitial for the community, but your father was also supposed to work with those in charge of keeping track of the taxing.
It was obvious that the king wanted the handfull of new functionaries to handle a situation previous administrators couldn't control efficiently, that you were perfectly fine back in your birth city and adaptation was going to be a struggle.
Feeling more lonely than ever, in a position where you didn't feel comfortable trying to make new friends, all you had were your long walks on the beach.
The caress of the waves was comforting for you, and the salty tears of homesickness felt small mixing in them. Hoping that your sorrow could be temporally washed away, you would often speak out loud as if the forces ruling the water could hear you.
It was about presenting yourself with your fears, your dreads, begging for strenght and bringing small offers so the minor divinities populating those shores would get used to your presence. If mortals weren't going to make you feel welcome for obvious reasons, you could at least develop roots in the land bonding in a spiritual way.
At one given time, you tossed a silver ring for the waves to swallow. A really expensive one that you ripped from your finger with disgust, careless of what your father would say about that. That was your way of showing the local gods that you weren't Interested in the spoiling of their land, and if you had to stay, you wanted to find a spot to belong in doing good.
Lost as you were in your thoughts and prayers, you completely ignored there was a man watching you.
He noticed, and didn't waste time in making you realize of his presence.
" I'm an expert on anger and this doesn't look good. What happened? Did the man who gave it to you failed in behaving as he should? "
You turned back following the sound, only to discover the mesmerizing image of a blond man with piercing blue eyes. Blue as deep as the sea, captivating and haunting. His simple garments, vest and skirt of matching blue tones, made him look like a marine god coming at you.
" There is no man making me suffer other than my king. Unless seaking revenge on his orders, I doubt any myrmidon would want to get close enough for that. "
He smiled with skepticism, almost as if he taunted you.
" I would give you one afternoon in a tavern to prove it wrong. "
You couldn't help smiling and that only encouraged him to get closer pacing calmly in your direction.
" People come and go arround here, but I have a good memory for pretty girls … I guess you must be new. "
The flirting, way faster than what you were used to, was yet consented and very much appreciated. However, you feared the response you had for him would ruin everything.
" My father is the new royal scribe: we just moved and I have nowhere to belong here yet, except for this beach. "
The clarification soften him instead of sending him away.
" I was born here and still belong nowhere, only the sound of the waves bring me clarity. "
That subtle comfort was sweet enough to mean something without breaking the appearance of mightyness.
" I don't seek isolation, but stumble with it for unwillingly representing the evil deeds of Agamemnon. "
He got to close, close enough to smell the scent of your hair mixed with the breeze caressing it.
" I fight his wars, but never do it for him. He is not my king and as long as you are here he doesn't have to be yours either. "
He said enough to be recognized and the name came out softly from your lips.
" Achilles … "
The warrior smirked as a confirmation.
" i have been warned against you: Agamemnon told my father in front of me that you are the doom of every woman. "
Description that had clearly amused him.
" Did you believe it? "
He wanted to know if you were willing to give him a chance of proving himself.
Lost in him as you were, no voice of reason would have made you deny him that.
" It's too early to fall in any assumptions. "
His hands were cassually resting on his hips, eyes glancing at the sea as if he tried to reclaim a lost capacity for keeping distance.
" I come here often, maybe you will find time to form your own perceptions of me. "
An invitation to let him join you that you accepted in a heartbeat. Company was a great improvement and your attraction to him did get you trustfull with ease. The way in which you took his hand in your walk back into the water told him all he needed to know regarding the kind of girl you were.
Bright and pure, so innocent that he was still twirling his mind arround the lively attitude you began to show as fast as you felt safe arround him. There were no traces left of the angry sad girl he reached out to once her loneliness was disrupted.
All smiles for him, even more beautifull than before in his eyes.
More encounters kept happening and the thing wasn't left at random. Since you agreed to see each other with the excuse of your beach walks, the marine wildness became witness of your infatuation.
Without realizing of the meaning in his actions, Achilles began searching for you in every corner of the city hoping to cross ways in the middle of your daily activities. His gaze would search you in the crowds with very little success, making him crave more and more for the next secret meeting.
As most refined girls from the big city, you were one putting great care into your appearance. The pressure for beauty among rich nobles have shaped you that way, but he could tell you were a humble young woman whose harmless vanity couldn't be mistaken for shallowness. You also happened to be very well instructed, prepared to talk of any topic one would bring to you for conversation and always delivering a charming sensitivity into the talk. He sincerely thought you deserved a chance to be loved among his people regardless for the bunch of political servant fools you had arrived with.
Perhaps, because he himself adored you.
With the progression of your meetings evolving into implicit beach dates more surprises kept happening.
Achilles got to find out what that linen dyed of blue he found you buying at the market was for when you showed up one day in a cute match of strophion and skirt that left him breathless.
His blue eyes roamed your figure like the waves's caressing, yet you didn't seem to notice the impact you had on him and quickly ran towards him with your usual lovely carefreeness.
You clinged for a hug rounding his waist with your arms.
" Achilles! Want to go swimming? I came prepared this time. "
The sweetness of your tone made him feel almost guilty for enjoying the moment so much.
" I see, you look like a siren ready to raid the shore. "
The weird compliment made you giggle and excitement pushed you to show off, freeing him to give proper space for him to watch you.
" Do you like it? In Mycenae I used to go swimming with my friends, so my mother allowed me to make a new attire for swimming inspired by the local colour in order to feel more in home … Although I never told her who was my real inspiration."
Your attempt of souding suggestive was too cute and he couldn't resist the tenderness.
" It's perfect, you look so beautifull it's painfull to look at directly … "
Achilles interrupted himself, only to deliver his conclussion in a whisper.
" … And I love knowing you were thinking of me. "
Heat started reaching your face, but you tried to sustain the bravery that got you there.
" I'm always thinking of you. Mother says it seems my head is on some cloud, but in fact it is on the sea. "
Lovefull words started flowing from you with ease simply by staring at him for too long.
" On your eyes, that seem made of it. All its misterious charm compacted in one glance … and I wonder how is that even possible. When we meet, I mistook you for a god of the deepness. An inmortal servant of Poseidon answering my prayers. "
His eyes followed the soft features of your face with discrete adoration.
" You are the miracle I never expected, sweet girl of a love so pure that it's drowning my heart. "
Silently and relentlessly, the few distance between you dissapeared. Achilles held you by the waist and you caressed his cheeks into your first kiss. Although the breeze should have cooled you down, you were feeling your while body on fire and nothing could have stopped it.
As soon as you released each other you made him chase you into the water so the caresses of the waves on your skin would mix with his. Catching you took him a bit because you kept diving away as part of the game, but when he got you in his arms he refused to let you go.
Once you had enough fooling arround, he proved to have one more surprise for you.
His seashell necklace, that he colocated on you after filling the spot with kisses while you were drying together near the shore.
Words weren't enough to thank him, but you tried anyways.
" It's so beautifull! How did you know I wanted one like yours? I was trying to make one myself, but i'm collecting only the prettiest shells I find for it. "
Your reaction caused him a blissfull pride.
" Keep mine, I want you to have it. This way, my men would know you are mine without mycenaeans realizing. A subtle symbol that will make myrmidons respect you. "
The explanation got you even more excited, but you also felt a sudden sense of shame.
" I have nothing to give you in return. "
Achilles chuckled, as if he knew something you didn't.
" Wrong again, pretty one. "
With the cocky comment, he exposed his hand showing off a detail you didn't notice before.
Your silver ring on his finger.
" Impossible! I tossed it away for the deities to take, it should be resting deep in the ocean. "
Achilles enjoyed himself with your child-like amazement.
" Tomorrow, I will take you to see the most beautifull point of our shores. One you don't know yet, where no one dares to go, and there you will meet the one who gave it back to me. "
It confused you even more, but that was understandable.
Achilles was aware you had no idea that you had already won the good sight of his mother with your thoughtfull prayers and sincere love for her essential element.
It was him the one who still had hard work to do in order to charm your parents.

Now that the Sherlock Holmes stories have become public domain, I’d like to add my own thoughts on the “are they in love?” discourse.
I’ve been a fan of the books for absolutely years, and have reread them all countless times. One thing I noticed is how many people note on the way Holmes treats his roommate (aaaand here come the “and they were roommates” jokes) Watson, which is with great affection, even frequently calling him “my dear” and trusting him enough to help with his independent investigative works, which he would normally do alone.
Watson also describes Holmes affectionately, quite enjoying his company and considering him an amazing friend.
Whether Watson’s thoughts about Holmes are platonic or romantic, we may never know. He married in one of the accounts he wrote, and still considered Sherlock a great comrade.
Sherlock’s feelings towards him, however, are quite complicated. On one hand, he seems to adore Watson with all of his heart and soul, but on the other, one must observe his outlook towards other things he likes.
Firstly, the thrill of the hunt. In “A Study In Scarlet”, he is compared to a foxhound sniffing for clues, ever-exited to learn more about a difficult case when he cracks it. His happiness knows no bounds when mulling over a difficult case.
Tumblr media
Secondly, his love for the fiddle and music itself. He is said to be and avid player of the violin, playing tunes based on his fancy at the moment, be it sad and slow or jaunty and fast.
Tumblr media
Thirdly, his love of the scientific arts. His adoration of new things to learn and experiments to be solved makes him act like a child in a candy shop. Also in A Study In Scarlet (where a lot of the things he enjoys are described while Watson gets to know Holmes better):
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I probably will explain this pretty badly, but what I can see is that Mr. Holmes shows massive love towards things that make him happy. He’s described as being rather emotionally distant towards other, less important things, but he loves the things he holds dear with all his heart.
Such a level of adoration towards something you like is a beautiful thing to see, of course, but that also applies to people in his life. He loves Watson, with all of his heart. Same as he feels love towards doing something fun, same as he loves expressing his feeling on the violin, same as when he finally works out a difficult experiment.
This is a man who gives all his heart and soul towards the things he holds dear, and I think that such a rare thing is far more beautiful than simple attraction. To love a friend so much that you would trust them with your life, as Holmes definitely has, to share your home with them and respect their privacy with pleasure, to hold their hand in the dark to guide them so they don’t get hurt.
This is love that brings tears to the eyes, that prevails through years and years and still stays strong. This is love for the little and big things in life, because the only things that matter are the things that you refuse to hate. Because life only lasts for so long, but a love like this is eternal, even though the lover and loved may be long dead and forgotten.

Finally, I was able to make hair I don't hate! This is Sam the Lamb in the security breach style! I used Glam!Chica as a reference for Proportion and help with how to make a more 'realistic' looking animatronic. (Also, for lore reasons, look below for that :p)
Tumblr media
Lore under break!
She was designed by junior robotist who used a outdated (and public domain) glam!Chica model as her base. Fazbear Inc. Tried to sue, but once it went public they faced Heavy backlash. Eventually they decided to settle, giving the creator a large sum of money in return for Fazbear Inc. Getting full rights to Sam.
She is in the theater/daycare area, having very limited and monitored contact with guests. At this point, she's still not 'glamrock' yet, them needing to decide her colors and gimmick. She has a joint activity with Roxy where it's basically a HUGE game of tag across the theater, sheeps vs. wolfs style.
Since she's not originally Faz-tech, she doesn't have the internet filter the others have. the original creator not needing one and assuming fazbears inc will add it and the Faz-Technician in charge of her assuming it's already added, letting her know info the others don't (Also making her not connected to the network and essentially stuck in safe mode)
Faz Inc. Made it a contest where (with the purchase of a year pass) you can enter a glamrock design into a 'blind raffle' (not really, the techs will look through all submissions and choose the one they like) Roxy later takes advantage of this and uses a tech that is aware they're sentient to make her design (that her and Roxy came up with) win.
Her and Chica have a kinda 'sisters' relationship, considering they are the only farm themed animatronics left (rip Bonnie), and she uses Chica's base. Sam complains about how she can't eat, and Chica complains about wanting a cupcake companion like her past versions.
Her and Roxy have a 'ooohhh nooooooo, the big bad wolf is after meeee🥺' stick that they play up for the, but talk shit once the plez closes, Roxy happy to have another girl in the plex thats a blank canvas (Roxy is the one who ends up coming up with her color scheme and glam design)
Freddy asks her a BUNCH of questions bc of her not having the filter (I once read a fic where Gregory got injured, I think broken bone, and only Roxy was programed with the knowledge of how to set and Stabilize his arm). He's also the one who teaches her how things work in the pizza plex.
She openly stares at monty's ass-
I mean- because Cringe is dead, im shipping her with Monty. Gonna be the classic 'looks mean, actually a softy' x 'looks Innocent, secretly not', her lack of filters making her VERY Mischievous, telling dirty jokes whenever no one's looking.
Later on, once her glamrock design is finalized, she is able to roam the plex like the others during the day. It is during the wandering that she stumbles upon the arcade and discovers she glows in the black light! After that, she all but demands that her tag game get a black light version for the older kids, providing black light sensitive face paint for the children.
Here's every design I have of her, from her pre!glamrock to her black light version! Hope you enjoyed the lore!

The Critters will, at least initially, stay back in Ranglers only areas of the park, mainly because I intend for there to be some uncertainty in terms of copyright matters. No one's really sure what the legal status of PlayCo owned brands have been since the factory "mysteriously" shut down roughly two decades ago. The Smiling Critters franchise especially, given it's ultimate failure following the infamous CatNap recall at the end of the 1980s. Indigo Park's legal team may eventually either prove that the Smiling Critters should be considered public domain by this point or secure the intellectual rights in a legal dispute, which eventually leads to a lax in concern over the Critters being seen publicly on Indigo Park property.
Amusingly, I do have an idea of Crafty getting into digital art and figuring out how Rambley "animates himself" through puppet animation, so they spend free time creating puppet animation assets for the Critters, starting with DogDay. And Rambley doesn't even know they're doing this until one day when DogDay casually slides into the screen next to him.
If CatNap is still undergoing rehabilitation by the time the Critters go public at the park and someone asks about him, DogDay's only public statements would be that CatNap "fell in with the wrong crowd" a while back and is on time-out for the time being. There is a professional child therapist involved in all of this behind the scenes, and CatNap in particular is a doozy of a case for her, but allegedly not the worst she's had to deal with. Per the rules therapists follow, she refuses to elaborate.
Incidentally, CatNap now smells properly of lavender as intended. His first day active in his new body, he attempted to jumpscare on Ed and hit him with Red Smoke. But since his new body doesn't have that, he's just awkwardly breathing on him before realizing it's not working.
Funnier fact about CatNap: he cannot stand Rambley's cheery, talkative attitude and calls him Infodump as a mean-spirited joke. I'm also toying with the funny idea that he takes a liking to the Lloyd character purely to spite Rambley.
Ed, lying there as CatNap breathes on him: "Uh...is this just...a thing you do?"
CatNap, realizing: "...what."
Ed: "I mean, if this is a thing that makes you comfortable, then I would appreciate a little warning-"
CatNap: "What."
Ed: "So you don't make others uncomfortable, okay?"
CatNap, thinking on who he saw last before he died: "...THE ANGEL!"

for the tarot ask game -
The Emperor — Do you have a process you follow with your design work? OR How important is mechanical complexity to you?
The Star — Talk about a game you’re working on and what excites you about it.
original ask meme
The Emperor
I'm kind of waffling on this one - I think it's a broad question, and I could answer it a lot of ways. Let me try to walk through the basics of writing a game for me, and we'll see how that turns out.
Generally speaking, I build games around a pretty simple pitch. "Skyrim Isekai," "Naruto Simulator," and "Classic Zelda with a Chess Board" all come to mind as examples. Either that, or I have an idea for a central mechanic, and try to build a game that justifies it. This would be Broke Wizards, or a couple of WIPs that may or may not ever see the light of day. This is my less preferred method; I tend to think vibes first, and systematize as I go.
Once I have a clear idea, I'll make a write-up document to codify those ideas into discrete items. It's usually bullet points interspersed with paragraphs about reference media or design goals. These docs are intentionally messy and incomplete - their purpose isn't to be readable, but rather to warm up the connection between brain and fingers and get me in the headspace for proper design.
From there, I build games version-by-version. I keep files organized like game updates (version 0.1, 0.2, 0.2.1, and so on), making saving a file as a new version whenever I make what I consider to be a major change or addition.
As I work on these prototypes, I'm also working on broad-scale things, like figuring out what order in which to present information, and settling on the voice of the game. Generally, I'm a pretty plain, straightforward writer, but I try to put some personality into the text of each game, especially since I have a tendency to build games from joke ideas. I refer you again to Skyrim Isekai.
I usually work on the text of the game before anything else, waiting until it's feature-complete (and usually text-complete) before I even think about layout or art. Most of the time, I have a pretty clear idea for how I want a game to look long before this point, but I save this part for last largely because it kind of scares me. I'm getting better at talking to artists and finding public domain work, but it's always daunting, and it's probably my weakest area.
Once I have all the assets I think I'll need, it's off to Canva I go. It's also at this point that, if I haven't so far, I bring in my wonderful partner to help. She has more experience with graphic design and art than I do, and she has a wonderful sense for what makes a thing look nice. Generally speaking, I always work next to her while I'm doing layout so that I can prod her with questions any time I'm not sure how to do something, or when I need another pair of eyes to make sure I haven't made something too offensive to the eye.
From there it's a matter of uploading a new itch project page, doing some blurb-writing, and noticing several typos after the game has been up for days.
The Star
I mean. It's CLASH!. You know it's CLASH!. You must, right? It's the only thing I've talked about since January.
Well lucky for you, I have more new things to say about it, because nothing I said above applies to the development of CLASH! so far.
Something that excites (and scares) me about CLASH! is that it's the biggest game I've ever worked on, and it's the first one written with the express purpose of being printed. Both of those come with an exponential increase in the overall complexity of the project, both in terms of design and production.
Design-wise, the path of CLASH! has been quite an experience. Its increased size means that, hopefully, people who play it will be playing it for longer periods, and I want it to stay fun and engaging as they do. That means that CLASH! is the first game I've ever playtested before releasing. That feels a little like an admission of guilt, honestly, but for what it's worth I think I've done a pretty good job of making games playable and fun so far anyway.
I also have a lot more things to juggle. What non-designers might not realize is that every feature added to a game is an exponential increase in complexity. As an example - I added Tech tags as a way of implementing the progression mechanic of the Specialist, which you can read about here. But in doing so, I had to make tags mean something in the broader context of the game's mechanics, so that they wouldn't just be a clutter of nonsense words that the majority of players would never find any use for. As a result, I ended up changing how the Vessel's progression works as well, and I'm considering doing something similar for the Powerhouse.
All to say - a more feature-rich game means one whose features all require a much greater depth of consideration and testing, which slows things down.
As for production, CLASH! has been a huge learning experience. This was intended from the beginning - I knew before I started that I wanted this project to be the center of a number of big steps forward in my career, and that translates into the game itself. For one, Canva isn't good enough anymore - I'm learning Affinity Publisher for it, and slowly driving myself mad in the process.
Seriously, if you have any resources for learning, like, the ABCs of graphic design software, please link me. I don't know what any of these buttons mean and I don't know how to make a text box.
I digress. I want CLASH! to end up on store shelves if I can help it. That means talking to local game stores, buying an ISBN number, and learning how printing works, which is a many-headed beast in its own right.
Alright, I think I've typed out CLASH! in all caps enough for one post. Thanks for the ask! And if you're reading this and you're so inclined, give he game a few dollars at the third hyperlink in this post, or by buying me a coffee. And go check out the work of the Artist for this game, @hakuryuu. They do good work, and they deserve your money.

Also as a joke, Batman goes into public domain in 2034, so just you wait
But on more serious note it's actually more likely if we go with vibes and change names and facts around so the game won't get under copyright infringement, because rn rights to dc games are owned by worner bros, and they are assholes for a bunch of various reasons
Like move Gotham to some European country with coal mines history and Gotham vibes of art Deco had sex with Soviet brutalism, switch signs around, turn batman into idk lupman and just there are ways to legally go around having exactly dc universe so the lawers won't get our asses, but also with enough nods towards the original comics we're basing it off, maybe move timelines to be in like 20/30s, that's like also lean more towards noir history
Just, ye, I know the want to make it on the dc universe, but games industry is shit about such games, Warner bros is shit about that, and nobody would trust a team that made nothing to create a game, they fall off too often. And also wb won't just allow us to do that, because even if we don't go like hey pay to us they are better off just shutting the while thing down because uh no we don't want to pay you for that we don't care. So hate to capitalism and megacorporations. Yay
Sorry to be a doomer

Name/location changing and story alterations have been suggested a couple of times before. But I’ll be frank and say it loses a lot of the appeal for me personally >.<
Like, could it still be a killer game? Absolutely! You’d have free rein with new characters, adjusted character backgrounds, characterizations, locations, story progression, etc. But the original batfam theme were all attached to would be lost.
Not to mention the additional metric ton of work that comes with inventing everything from scratch. Which, I won’t lie, might also be very fun in its own way. But I have to draw the line somewhere with how invested I can get, considering I have university to think about and also work a mini job on the side >.<

Courtney: To defy Chairman Debeste, is to defy the law. It would be a grave act of disloyalty. In other words, a hearing won't be needed. Are you prepared to lose your Prosecutor's Badge?
Gumshoe: Th-That's...! Mr. Edgeworth's badge...! You can't do that!
Franziska: ...Using a prosecutor's badge as a shield. What has the P.I.C. come to...?
Edgeworth: Kay...! You haven't done anything wrong!
Kay: Mr. Edgeworth... It was only for a short time, but... Thank you for everything... I'm sorry... I turned out to be a criminal...
Courtney: We will make sure to impart your confession to the Goddess of Law.
Edgeworth: .....Nngh! (What... should I do!? When I was young, I wanted to become a defense attorney like my father... Someone who can fight to save those in need...! And right now... this badge is holding me back. A mere badge, for the life of a dear friend... I don't even have to consider it...!)
Kay: ...Alright. Farewell... Mr. Edgeworth.
Edgeworth: Hold it right there! Judge Courtney!
Courtney: ...What is it now, Prosecutor Edgeworth? ! This is... your prosecutor's badge! Prosecutor Edgeworth! What is the meaning of this!?
Edgeworth: ...Consider this my resignation. I am... no longer a prosecutor!
Kay: M... Mr. Edgeworth...?
Franziska: Wh-What are you doing!? Explain yourself! Miles Edgeworth! You... you can't be serious!?
Gumshoe: Mr. Edgeworth! You... you're joking, right? If you aren't a prosecutor, then I...!
Edgeworth: My only mission is to bring the truth to light. If it's the prosecutor's path to turn a blind eye to the truth... ...then that title is worth nothing to me! I... will walk in the path that I believe in. ...I will not be stopped here!
Compare this to:
Ryunosuke: We know that Morse code comprises of two distinct tones. The defence believes that the second disk contains the second tone needed to complete the message! And now we have a chance...to confirm that theory!
Gregson: For cryin' out loud, sunshine! We're talkin' about state secrets here! If you go lettin' the whole courtroom hear confidential information like that, it's...it's treason!
Ryunosuke: Then do you admit the charge? That in order to protect those state secrets, you engaged in unlawful dealings with the witness?
Gregson: You're... You're mad... If you let that secret information out into the public domain... ...you'll...you'll be makin' an enemy of the entire British government, you idiot!
Ryunosuke: Objection! Let's not forget, Inspector, that you - a Scotland Yard officer - leaked confidential case details to a witness! That you continue to lie to the court! And all because, by fair means or foul, you're determined to do your duty. Well...by fair means or foul, I'm prepared to do mine!
Gregson: Don't you dare...
Ryunosuke: I will stop at nothing to protect my client! I don't care who I make an enemy of!
I recently reached the scene in AAI2 where Miles gives up his badge for Kay's sake in my replay, and I wanted to take a closer look at it, because the first time around it was before I had touched DGS, and as I was approaching it I wanted to draw a comparison between the actions that cause Miles to give up his badge and the actions that lead to Ryunosuke losing the ability to stand in court. Ryunosuke and Miles here commit open acts of defiance against those in command of their legal careers. It is in the meaning of these acts and the differences in the context they're in that define them as characters and explain what being a defense attorney in the AA universe is really all about.
We're going back to Rise from the Ashes first, actually, and to the story behind the King of Prosecutor's trophy. The sharpest blade and the strongest shield -- what happens when they collide? This is the premise Ace Attorney tests. It is in those contradictions that we find truth.
But what happens when the system itself is the contradiction? What do you do against it? What do you have to do to go outside it?
Ryunosuke is fundamentally an outsider to the legal system, starting off in Japan as not even a law student and coming to Britain as a foreigner. He has a perspective on the system that stems from being outside of it and primarily being with other people who are outside of it as well.
Miles is as inside as inside gets. He's a well-respected prosecutor. We just talked about the King of Prosecutor's trophy, of which he was a recipient. But I think one factor in his decision that gets overlooked fairly often is the fact that just a month and a half or so earlier he stood in court as a defense attorney, and since then he's only gotten more and more of the experience. Phoenix placed a little crack in the shell when he asked Miles to take his badge and defend Iris, and the Investigations games work their way up to shattering it entirely.
But what brings them together is this: when the system is no longer interested in the truth, it becomes necessary to circumvent it.

Hello everyone! Thank you all for almost 50 followers!! :3c All activity has been on my main account @morguemaw, so if you want more direct content of Lusttale shoot me a ask about it!!!!
So, abit has changed over the few months and i have a update, coupled with info for all you new guys who found this blog!
1) AU is decided to be 16+. Its suggestive, no NSFW will be posted/shown as i want whatever content i MYSELF to post to be accessible to everyone within a comfortable range! There will be light sexual jokes, however if at any point it reaches too much, please tell me! I know the AU itself should obviously be considered a Explicit Rated AU, however i know there are people who enjoy the AU without the sexual aspects.
2) This AU is not a fan AU OR variant: This AU was made with the plan to 100% rewrite Underlust, i will explain below!!
Why the rewrite?:
I've loved Underlust since i joined the Undertale community, and others have too! However, the owner WAS involved and DID create content involving fontcest, a nazi Chara, Frans content, and was friends/mutuals with others who also created gross content like BlogTheGreatRogue and Lizherubones. This disgusted me and made alot of others feel the same. The AU was left off on a confusing as shit note, from the disgusting writing of Lust MTT to the messed up relationship between the brothers. I want to erase this the best i can. Alot of characters have also 0 content (Such as Lust Alphys) and although i will mostly focus on Sans/Papyrus/Frisk still, i WILL be creating content for mostly every character to again ensure the AU is fully fleshed out for as much enjoyment as possible.
Wheres the creator/owner?:
Awhile back, the owner, NSFWshamecave/Niel, left the internet and the AU for personal and mental reasons and bounced between owning and not owning the Au. They have since been MIA(Missing In Action) from the internet and AU, i doubt they will return or be involved at this point. The AU is considered fandom owned, which if you prefer that i support it, but do not interact with my blog as im basing everything on a rewritten POV with the entire intent to overhaul the AU without being too different or too similar.
What about the Underlust domain name?:
Lusttale CAN be called Underlust, BUT i prefer Lusttale to separate it as its alot easier, HOWEVER i have no issue with it being called Underlust! (Just still please credit/tag me, id love to see any content!)
What about fan AUs or others who make their own Variants?:
Keep going! I support these ten fold. Ive seen so many creative AUs overall, including a recent aroace one that has such adorable designs and is why i want to refresh myself and explain this blog to anyone new who might mistake me as a fan account. If you want to consider your variant a version/variant of my Rewritten AU, please tag me! Id love to see your AUs, your Varaints, EVERYTHING!!
HOWEVER. I do NOT support a single soul who ever uses my AU for Frans, Fontcest, or akin. Dont tag me OR interact with me, its public knowledge how the community feels about those, and im one of the many who don't like that content and wish for my AU to not be used in it. Self inserts, OC/Y/N x Lusttale, or etc is the same, id love to see it!!
What about Swaplust/Lustfell/AUs?:
Swaplust is also inactive: I have had my own interpretation of Swaplust since i found the AU when it was first made, Lustfell however i dont know, if its requested i will create something but i dont want to just claim every Lust AU out there. Not saying im claiming ownership of Swaplust, im saying that the Swaplust i want to make will be considered canon AU and it will be the ONLY Underlust AU i will ever claim, Swaplust has the same exact permissions. (Swaplust too had a very close Frans suggested ship, that is my reason for it)
To clarify if needed, im not forcing the view of me owning the AU onto every Underlust created content, im just saying if you yourself, the community, support what i do, i will continue, hence why i say tag me! I love to see it!
What about headcanons/outdated info like Sans being shorter?:
RN, Sans is the same size as Gaster Sans (i think 5' something?) however im fine with people drawing him short! ^^
Head-canons are also fully fine!!! Tell me any you think of, id love to hear. As long as you respect that i have my own plans, id be overjoyed to read whatever you guys think of or have.
So, to sum it up, Underlust has had a MIA owner since 2019/2020. Because of the history, and the way its loved, its a massive honor if i could step up and help give the community a AU with a solid backstory, solid characters with fleshed out personalities, and a structured plot that will replace something that was/is beloved. The best i can explain it, is my goal is to structure the AU but still keep support for the community as the AU was indeed considered Fandom Owned, again, you do not have to support me wanting to claim it, just do not bash me for it, as im absolutely not considering Lusttale a variant or AU, im considering Lusttale canon.
Questions are welcomed, if you have any concerns i can also explain! (Anon/Off Anon preferred so i can have it be public accessible incase others have the same questions)

Didn't Wanna Feel Older in 2024? TOO LATE!
So long, 2023! You have been a weird-@$$ year to say the least. Between by having to repair old thumb drives, purchase a new printer, finding out I'm susceptible to anxiety attacks, trying out dating for the first time, getting my Discord and Steam account hacked, starting a new Discord server since said account was never unhacked, opened myself up to commissions, managed to post art for Halloween, got Covid, summoned more Kaijus to play an elaborate game of poker, and had a merry enough Christmas. Here's hoping 2024 will prove better. At the moment I have no new goals, since I just want to relax after four months of constantly being active. There's a mile of books, movies, and TV shows I need to get caught up on! My opinions on all of them will be given in future Giraffe's Eye Views, but for now let's get to what you all came here for: yet another unnecessarily long list of things celebrating major milestones this year!
You all loved it when I did this last year. In fact it got more attention that anything else I posted, including the original art I put way more effort and time into. Nah, that didn't sting at all. Seeing my sketches get ignored is so much fun. Passive-aggressive joking aside, I do still love making these lists, so let's get started with some major stuff this year.
Tumblr media
Thanksgiving wasn't too long ago, so why not mention that the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade turns 100 this year? I know, that's insane! Watching this festive event has become a seasonal staple in my house and is the only reason I've ever signed up for Peacock. Thank goodness in all those years it hasn't been smashed by a giant monster.
Tumblr media
Godzilla turns 70 freak'n years old this year! How crazy insane is that? Here's hoping his old age won't slow him down when he teams up with King Kong this April. Even if it does, Gojira will continue being cinema's coolest character!
Tumblr media
Contrasting with the King of the Monsters, Mary Poppins turns 60 years old this year. This movie, considered to be Walt's last masterpiece, has aged considerably well even after all this time.

Hey, I came here from the fairy tale poll.
can you recommend some fairy tales with the theme you mentioned? I can't think of many where the monarchy isn't romanticized in some way if they are involved in the plot. fairy tales being used as a way to teach propaganda is an interesting topic I could talk so much about.
But stories like robin hood are often not technically fairy tales, maybe I'm thinking to to much in boxes and definitions here
I was just about to sit down and make a compilation post of my favorite fairy tales with the different motifs I list in my poll.
Since you asked about this, specifically, I'll post it first: King Trying to Avoid a Prophecy:
Simpleton Sibling (autistic-coded) [Warning for ableist ending as a "joke" -- but it's public domain, so we can change that]:
Wounded Soldier (If you accept PTSD as a wound, and if you accept allegory, rather than explicitly spelled out):
Evil Wizard, Otherworld Being at the Crossroads,Magic Objects, Magical barrier (landscape), & Magical Barrier (man-made):
Ex-soldier, "Useless" superpowers:
Animal helpers, Princess in an arranged marriage (Honestly, I consider any story with "Whoever achieves [X] wins the Princess's hand in marriage" to be an arranged marriage, which is ~90% of the most well-known stories. But in this one, the princess actually has agency, smarts, and something to do):

Are the moderators of this Uchiha Week 2023 actual human beings, or just fictional characters?
Tumblr media
Short answer: Yes, we are humans, as crazy as it seems.
Long answer: Also yes, and based on our belief in humanity, we've decided to create this event out of our free time for the people who love the Uchiha clan. With the idea that for once, different Uchiha factions, that generally don't talk or even clash, can come together for a week and celebrate our similarities rather than our differences. But apparently, a one-week truce is a naive dream.
It has been reported to us that a smear campaign has been launched against us by individuals (who had blocked us, and we neither could nor wanted to see their blogs) for the ignominious crime of... having different opinions than them?
At first, we believed it was a joke and didn't find it necessary to pay attention, until we realised that being silent is to accept a practice that so many artists and content creators have been suffering from on Tumblr and other social medias: online harassment (we encourage you to look up the links included to truly understand how serious and illegal that is). It always starts the same way: a toxic person intentionally misquotes you, then a friend reblogs, and another one who has disliked you for ages reblogs as well, and another one... and another one... until it's out of control, and when the mob feels strong and big enough, it turns into a public shaming, insults, invasion of personal space under fake names, exposing private conversations, and in the worst case it could degenerate to death threats.
And most of the time, just like in this case, those people don't interact directly with the content creators and their events/servers, but they bring up old hurt feelings and their unresolved issues that never belonged to a public domain in the first place. There are people we've barely talked to that now apparently know everything there is to know about us and our intentions, our server, and this event as well.
Thank God, we have both tough skin, so we will survive, but we are thinking about the young minors following our blogs, the people who might have been bullied in class, bullied at their workplace, artists who stop sharing because they have been harassed to draw a certain way, because they express themselves or think in a way that doesn't please the majority.
For those people who might have been triggered by such behaviours, we have to set an example, and we've decided that we won't be intimidated. It’s our responsibility to keep this event a safe place for fun and artistic creation, not a platform for public defamation of real persons aka actual human beings. We will now automatically block and report people who come here with the intention to troll and spread lies. We're compiling informations on those individuals and might consider legal actions if, in the future, this keeps going too far. With this, we sincerely thank our mutuals who have already sent us screenshots with proof of the harassment, and we kindly ask you to keep reporting us in DMs the names of those participating in that.
To finish in a lighter note, our motivation to celebrate the Uchiha Week is unchanged, our passion intact. Even if summer will be hot, the show must go on! See you in our prompt page.

On Writing With AI
This post was written without AI, beyond maybe Google autocorrect.
Doing this stream of consciousness. Need to answer the question: Why do people want to write with AI, is that evil, and is it ever justified?
Start with the "why". Go back to my own experiences. Experience one:
I'm a published author of multiple works under CURSED PEN NAMES REDACTED, but the one thing I take credit for is The Assassin's Dilemma, a Warhammer Fantasy short story in the Death & Dishonour collection.
I do not plagiarize and I have never used AI, but if you happen to read that story and you're familiar with the old Warhammer fiction you might notice that I was heavily aping William King's style. Not ripping passages out or anything, just trying to channel the cowardly viciousness of the Skaven he wrote so well over multiple Gotrek & Felix books. This is something that's generally considered accepted practice while you're learning - Stephen King calls it out in On Writing, to name one example.
Does this somehow make it acceptable to train an AI on the books of an author you like and use it for your own work? To my mind, no. In a legal sense, probably "fuck, no". Mimicking an author's style as a starting author is about gaining insights, like "Terry Pratchett doesn't spend a lot of time on character description and averages one joke per sentence". Having an AI play word scramble might provide some insights, but it's more likely to create non-actionable data analysis fodder like "Nathaniel Hawthorne frequently uses the word 'is'" (I have no idea if this is true).
Okay, author self has ruled out AI. Moving to experience two. Brace for tangent:
I'm currently building a top-down role playing video game based on Hansel & Gretel. (Everyone starts somewhere.) I am currently using RPG Maker MV. RPG Maker is a game engine where most of the features you need to build an RPG are baked in, including tile maps, character sprites, items, switches, rooms, enemies, combat mechanics, etc.
I originally started the game in GameMaker Studio. GameMaker has a lot of pre-built features for games, but they are non-specific, which means you need to build a lot of them yourself (see: everything I listed that RPG Maker has above). I got to the point where I had a game where a character could move between rooms using grid-based movement and have a second character follow them around, which is *pretty good* but I had a long way to go.
Because this Hansel & Gretel game is me proving a point to myself and not my dream project, I elected to use RPG Maker instead and cut out a lot of the engine work I'd have to do to get things going with GameMaker. I am very conscious that when want to make a different style of game, I am going to have to abandon RPG Maker for something else, but it provides the tools I need for now.
Which brings me back to the topic: RPG Maker is a tool to make games that ships with a bunch of pre-built assets for you to use. And you can use these assets and the tool as-is. But but BUT, the truth is that a game made with stock RPG Maker assets is going to be dismissed by most people because all those included tools and assets are pretty bland. The RPG Maker games that succeed are the ones that take the engine, replace all the stock assets, and bend the hell out of the defaults to create something unique, some new gaming experience.
So one might argue: what if I prompt an AI to generate a book, based on my own ideas and characters, and then edit the hell out of it until it's something unique, a new reading experience?
Hm.
HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM.
Well. First, this doesn't solve the problem of AI being trained on content that the authors didn't consent to offer up for that purpose. That's one of the sticking points of the whole practice. But let's argue that someone creates an AI that's trained on public domain content *only*.
The next problem is that writers are lazy stumblebums. (Or: I am a lazy stumblebum, and I am generalizing my inferiority complex to an entire profession.) If you're already using AI to write the first draft of your novel, what exactly is stopping you from leaving in great chunks of purely AI-generated content? I mean, it's not impossible that the AI came up with a really great sentence you wish you'd thought of. Who would know, right? (Probably everyone.)
And that hints at the last problem, which is: writing is a learned, practiced skill. Using an AI to generate great swathes of text you revise does not teach you how to structure a story. It does not teach you how to write believable, sympathetic, hateable, hilarious characters. It does not teach you how to make people laugh, cry, shout, or just put the book down for a second and stare into space.
An inexperienced writer using an AI to write their book is going to create garbage at worst (which to be fair is true with or without the AI), but at best it's going to be work that's like an RPG Maker game made with just the default assets. It will lack evidence of craft.
An experienced writer using an AI to write their book... may write a good book. A great one? I don't know. I doubt it. But to my mind, any AI available now will just be a distracting addition to the writer's existing process.
I'm going to call Joanna Penn out a bit now just because she's the first author who tried to sell me on using AI in my writing through her mailing list. (I unsubscribed.)
Her basic process for writing a short story as described on her website was: 1. write a basic story, 2. use a tool to expand on sensory descriptions and flesh out events, 3. incorporate the text into her story after heavy editing, 4. run the story through an online editor software, 5. run the story through a human editor, 6. use an AI to generate a book cover and 7. brainstorm a title.
In line with my thoughts: 1 and 5 are obviously fine. 7 I don't really mind, it's like using a random word generator or a jar of word magnets for inspiration. (Disclaimer: I may use anagram generators for vampire names in some yet-to-be-published works.) And 4 seems reasonable given that it's suggestions on how to modify existing text, rather than writing it in full.
But 2 and 3 run smack into the problems I see with trying to edit an AI's text - it's not yours, and the temptation is to leave more and more of it in, without learning what's good about it and what isn't. And 6, the book cover, is the poster child for content-stealing AI.
I do get the temptation to delegate descriptive text to an AI. I'm shit at it myself. But it's a compromise. You can argue it's the same compromise a one-man-band game developer makes when they buy an asset pack or a sound library. Maybe that's a fair argument. But until AI can clean up its ethics issues, I don't think it's one that will win me over.

a lot of characters to choose from, but i don't think anybody understands draco malfoy the way that you do 💚
okay so for some reason tumblr has been glitching when it comes to you and not showing me your notifications so i missed this, travesty!
this is a high honor for my inner thirteen year old. was gonna counter and say it's more that i understand what he should be, but i realized to be able to do that about a character you first have to understand what they are, so i guess you're right lol.
once i've assassinated rowling and her works have gone into the public domain i'll be able to publish njabbic and everyone will see!!! (for legal reasons the first part is a joke)
tell me what fictional characters you consider me an expert on

Worldbuilding! (this is worldbuilding right?)
Incubus edition!
In this story incubus are love "demons"!
The first incubus was born when witchuntings were the rage. They weren't born an incubus though, they were a demogod! Only son of life and death. At the time at least.
He was the one to name his species. The guy is a little shit that makes jokes and decisions without thinking about the after. He's a charming guy though, got it from his mother, who he calls dad due to habit.
When he chose the name he thought he would remain the first and last of his species. So, when he found out his new adoptive brother became an incubus, he spit out his boba! (He likes boba)
The second incubus was born when kings ruled the lands. Unlike the first, he was born a human. He was given the gift of mortality upon the request of his father. His father is friends with the god of life and death.
His name is Arthur. He got a husband. But he was Arthur's wife to the public. His parter became the third incubus. His name is Augustus (Augustina).
The fourth incubus was born during the two thousands. His name is Wayne. He was born a human. He was sold of by his mother to camp that brain washes those favoured be gods into soldiers, assasins. He was considered a failed project.
The god of health and beauty liked him. She disguised herself and acted as his mother figure. She trained him and taught him how to survive. She taught him how to read, write, act, read people, how to use his gifts, how to use a bow and arrow, short blades, baking, cooking, forage, everything. She essentially succeeded what the camp failed in doing. To help him survive, she taught him how to become the perfect soldier.
He escaped the camp. He saved other victims and destroyed the entire settlement in the process. With help.
---
Tails!
They have tails!
The first has a classic heart tail, with the sharp point of the heart being the end of the tail.
The fourth one also has a heart tail, but the heart is facing the opposite direction.
The second has twin tails with teardrop shaped ends. Put the. side-by-side and it forms a heart!
The third has a tail that just taper out. Kind of like a rat tail.
Their tails are a thin line with the shaped ends being as flat as a piece of paper. This makes them easy to hide. They simply wrap it around their torso and make sure not to wear crop tops.
Their tails are long. When in idle position each tail reaches the floor and then makes circles and loops according to each incubus's preferences.
Their tails are also supper strong. They can't train it to be strong as the tail contains no muscles to train. They can already lift entire houses anyway (their tails aren't long enough to wrap around any though).
---
Colors and "domains"!
Each inccubus has a signature color. Their eyes offer change into said color when experiencing strong emotions. They can also make their eyes can't color on command if they want.
First incubus has purple.
Second incubus has red.
Third incubus has green.
Fourth incubus has pink.
Most incubus have a love domain, the type of love the represent, experience most, is most familiar with, etc. Some have emotions that their color is tied to. If another incubus's eyes turn into their color, they are experiencing said emotion.
First incubus: Romantic love, Adoration
Second incubus: Familial love, Hatred
Third incubus: -, Jealousy, Rage
Fourth incubus: Platonic love
---
Name
You might have noticed I didn't mention the first incubus's name. That's because he doesn't have one. He has a placeholder name though, Eros.
Second, third, and fourth also had placeholder names.
2: King
3: Mirror
4: Flash's grandson (this didn't last long)
---
Here's a list
No. Color, Emotion, Love, Codename, First name
1. Purple, Adoration, Romantic, Eros, _
2. Red, Hatred, Familial, King, Arthur
3. Green, Jealousy, _, Mirror, Augustus
4. Pink, _, Platonic, _, Wayne
