Trying to explain what the fuck just happened in Lankan politics today.
The leftist party has won 159 seats out of 218 in the Parliamentary elections. The single biggest landslide win since we broke from the British and achieved universal franchise in 1948.
Any party achieving a super majority in the executive and legislative is, objectively speaking, bad. It disables checks and balances, which is a catastrophic thing for any democracy, and the only two other times it's happened for us has irrevocably eroded the fabric of civic rights and democratic freedom. Also, the reason the NPP won the North and East is that the colonized, genocided and subjugated people there have no faith in electoralism anymore. The way this government has engaged minority issues has been utterly abysmal and now they've been rewarded for it.
On the other hand:
The winners. Are all. Grassroots. Candidates.¹
We have voted out every single career criminal that's been barnacled into the Lankan political arena since before I've been alive. The fascist party has only three seats.² The other fascists didn't win a single seat. The neoliberal legacy party won none. There are only forty people in Parliament that represent any sort of dynastic political legacy. After 76 solid years of nothing but political dynasties.
This is barely five years after the Rajapaksas swept in and absolutely glutted the Parliament with their family members and cronies end to end.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is the illegitimate interim government we had for most of the last 18 months. We literally, physically, chased the Rajapaksas out of the country and this fucking demon set up a puppet government just so he could finally sit in that goddamn chair and be the despot he'd always dreamed of in exchange for letting them all come back. He's now gone. His entire circle is gone.
THEY ARE ALL FUCKING GONE.
In US terms, just imagine that, five years from now, when Trump's GOP has control of everything, the entire GOP and the worst of the Dems are all purged from Congress and Senate, the Green Party in control of all three branches of government under a pro-union left-wing President and an unmarried female LGBT rights activist Vice President, and the Dems reduced to barely 20% of the House.
Tumblr media
This is my anthropology professor. She joined politics from the small nascent leftist coalition to help keep the government accountable. She's now the Prime Minister and the most popular Parliamentary candidate in the nation's history. (Edit: She was knocked off first place by a dude in the final result. Boo.)
(On the other hand— the woman who helped make me a radical anarchist and literally helped write a book on political dissent and resistance...now is the state. Uh.)
But there are so many women in Parliament! We had the lowest female representation in a South Asian Parliament and some of them were from the list of seats reserved for parties rather than elected ones. Most were either anti-feminist conservative embarrassments, widows and daughters of elite politicians and neoliberal shills. It's still only an increase of a few percentage points (Edit: from the previous 5% to 10% in the final result!) but now we have elected academics, feminist advocates, activists! There Is a representative for Malaiyaha Tamils in the Central Province for the first time in history and it's a young woman! (Edit: now it's two female Malaiyaha MPS!!) This is the plantation community that still live in conditions closest to the slavery the British forced upon them two hundred years ago!
I'm like. Completely mindfucked. To be very very clear, the NPP coalition formed around the nucleus of the JVP that used to be communist but haven't been in 30 years, they're now just social democrats who are left of places like the US and UK, whose "left" is now center-right. They're only threatening to the Western mainstream media for some reason who can't stop bleating about how we have a "Marxist" government now. In reality, the actual chances for radical reform are still quite low, and the opportunity for further erosion is quite high with a super majority government regardless of affiliation.
On the other hand:
What the fuck.
Sometimes living through historical events is really damn amazing.
---
¹ Well, nearly. There are a few career politicians and a nepo baby but they aren't so bad either.
² Goddamn it, Baby Rajapaksa and Sri Lanka's answer to JD Vance have wormed their way in using the list of Constitutionally reserved party seats for non-elected members. FUCK the National List.

Abigail should be allowed to say she wasn't prepared to have Jack or did not want him at the time.
TW: Pregnancy, abortion mention, child mortality mention, death during pregnancy mention. People criticize John for not caring for Jack --- as they should! However, when it comes to the idea of whether John wanted him or not, he gets a free pass in comparison to Abigail, who is always demonized. This leads to how women are viewed in society. Why is it so evil that a woman says that she's not ready to have a child or didn't want one? Because of 1950s and earlier notions that women HAVE to be in the home? Ideas that conservatives still try to force down women's throats? Abigail was 18, for God's sake. She was JUST rescued from a brothel. She finally had freedom for the first time in her life. (She was literally either in the orphanage, living on the streets, or working in the brothels.) Most 18 year olds aren't ready to have children ----even if times were different back then. Just because women did have children back then at 18 or younger, doesn't mean they were ready or that they wanted to. She had just fallen in love, she finally had people that cared for her. She was doing what she was GOOD at. Hosea canonically praises her as the best thief/conwoman and actress he has EVER known. I have the audio link as proof if anyone wants it. That was all taken away from her the second she found she was pregnant. Massive amounts of women died, and by 1900 - 30 percent of children died before their first birthday. (hence what likely happened with the Marston baby, but I have my theories on what happened there in another post.) Those numbers would have been WORSE in 1895 and Abigail was living in a TENT most of this time. Can you imagine being pregnant, constantly on the move and giving birth with only the possibility of a roof above your head? Abigail would have grown up seeing the women in the brothels handle pregnancy. She would have seen the fear in those women's eyes. The hopelessness. She would have seen those try to perform abortions or women die during childbirth - or be kicked out of the brothel for becoming pregnant in the first place. Also, Abigail lost her status once she became pregnant. She couldn't provide for the gang in the same way. She didn't have John's support. Grimshaw canonically doesn't like her and Bessie is dead at this point. She has no woman who cares about her. Then Jack came and she was treated like a burden - a charity case to everyone but Hosea and probably Arthur. Single women in the 1890s, especially illiterate ones with zero prospects were almost never accepted. Abigail also might have dealt with post partum depression, too. Abigail talks about how she's always wanted a family, but she also talks about how frustrated she is with Jack and how she wishes she had help. She talks about how the gang views her and outside of Tilly and Hosea, hardly anyone ever talks to her...at all. Sadie is extremely busy and there aren't any conversations between them outside of chapter 2. Most of the camp doesn't. She's completely isolated and considered a source of drama. Abigail had everything to lose, including her life. So why is she demonized?

THE DARK ART OF SASCHA SCHNEIDER
Sascha Schneider (1870-1927) was a German Symbolist painter known for his dark, homoerotic works exploring themes of power, desire, and the occult. His mind was plugged into another part of the dark side that many of us will never know
Hypnosis, 1904
In this painting, the powerful muscular figure is sending out mesmerizing forces of energy over the more passive counterpart, therefore embodying tension between dominance and submission. Much of this composition was greatly influenced by Schneider's personal struggles with his identity and relationships, especially in his rocky affair with fellow artist Hellmuth Jahn.
Judas Iscariot, 1908
This is the portrayal of Judas in a moment of intense inner turmoil right after his betrayal of Christ. This work adheres to the themes related to guilt and betrayal. Schneider, who suffered rejection from society due to his sexuality, may have related to Judas' struggles, with the tension that lay between personal identity and societal expectations.
Triumph of darkness, 1896
This is a piece showing a powerful figure coming out, so to speak, of what could be interpreted as a dark, swirling mass, symbolizing the fight against despair and embracing one's subconscious. Dominance over darkness by the figure can be equated with Schneider's quest for self-acceptance and artistic liberty, especially being gay in a rather conservative society.
Mammon and his Slave c. 1896
This artwork depicts a dominating powerful male figure, Mammon, the demon of greed, over a small, emaciated figure (enslaved human soul). In it, one sees Schneider's expressions on how materialism can vitiate the human spirit. Being gay in a repressive society, he would likely identify the enslaved figure with his own struggle for self-acceptance.
The Anarchist 1894
The muscular male figure, epitomizes the archetype of an anarchist standing in an attitude of defiance against norms and constraints of society. This is an important theme to the artist, which concerns the quest for freedom and self-expression; thus, The Anarchist is a strong social commentary about individuality and standing up against oppression.

I basically only post and read posts in my bubble aside from occasionally scrolling through Real Tumblr, but people’s takes about US politics on this website are fucking unbelievable. They talk about our government as if it didn’t save us from a pandemic-induced financial collapse, pump trillions of dollars into public works, not to mention substantially invest and rein in pharmaceuticals, and is instead some sort of ultra-neoliberal-corporate kitty shooting machine.
Like let’s be for real. Do they…know what the government does? How it works? Do you know what a conservative is? Do you know what an authoritarian is?
Because a system of government whose citizens are all lucky it has had continuous peaceful transfer of power for centuries could very well have its greatest norm violated—that those who reject its legitimacy must be rejected—and we don’t blink an eye.
Because the first major investment against climate change, coupled with life saving investments into healthcare, cancer research, and drug costs could be shredded by indiscriminate fiscal conservatives who don’t care if we die in forest fires, cancer from pollution, lose insurance because we’re jobless, or, apparently, all die in a fricking plague.
Because a foreign policy establishment that had finally reversed two decades of foreign intervention in favor of a normalization strategy aimed at reducing American foot presence, drone strikes, and indiscriminate killings is about to be replaced by the whims of a man who dropped the “mother of all bombs” on the Middle East, gave American soldiers up to Russian bounty hunters, extorted a foreign leader for political favors and arguably indirectedly resulted in that country being BRUTALLY INVADED BY AN IMPERIAL NEIGHBOR, is in the pockets of CCP-funded billionaires, and WANTS TO “FINISH THE JOB” IN GAZA.
Because a President who is against family separations and promotes a path for DREAMERs and more legal immigration and rights for unodcumented people could be replaced by a man who wants to separate families, PUT UNDOCUMENTED PEOPLE IN CONCENTRATION CAMPS, RESTRICT EVEN LEGAL IMMIGRATION, ESPECIALLY THAT OF MUSLIMS, AND SHOOT MIGRANTS.
Because a President who stopped a repeat of the Great Recession and the painful decade that followed it with strong fiscal stimulus which CUT CHILD POVERTY IN HALF BEFORE CONSERVATIVES MADE IT EXPIRE, then managed to cut deficits and presided over a decline in inflation, resulting in record high real wages (aka taking into account inflation) for workers is going to be replaced by a President who wants to TARIFF ALL FOREIGN GOODS by 15%, CUT TAXES FOR THE FILTHY RICH AND THE TAX ENFORCEMENT TO STOP THEM, INCREASE CHILD POVERTY AND UNINSUREDNESS by cutting gov’t programs, and HURT UNIONS which by every measure will lead to lower wages, higher prices, and more poverty and starvation.
Because a President who has pledged to sign a bill codifying Roe v. Wade (which has yet to be possible in recent memory, whatever these kids say), who enshrined the right to marry someone of the same sex or different race, who supports the Equality Act which would enshrine LGBTQ protections into the law, could be replaced by THE MAN WHO REMOVED AMERICA’S RIGHT TO ABORTION, whose Christian nationalist supporters want to END SEXUAL FREEDOM as we know it including TARGETING IVF AND BIRTH CONTROL, who wants to reverse LGBTQ discrimination law in favor of Christian bigots who hate queer and trans people, and who demonizes that community to win political support.
Ask yourself if you really think there’s no difference between the two. Ask yourself if a reasonable person given these facts would choose the latter. Ask yourself why you see so much propagandizing against the reasonable choice. Ask yourself why so many people seem to have opinions on this when they “don’t even go here”.
Maybe I’m just preaching to the choir here. Maybe people who say this inane stuff wouldn’t vote anyways. Maybe somehow we’re screwed anyways. Maybe people will stupidly vote third party and we’re fucked. Maybe this will get me attacked.
I don’t care anymore. If I have to see one more fucking post acting like we live under the fucking Evil Empire while a SELF PROCLAIMED DICTATOR is about to end the best streak of decent governance I’ve ever seen in a while, I just can’t anymore.

Chapter 2 - Reflections
October 4th, 1917
California coastline, near Sonoma
Mina Gallagher looked out at the Pacific Ocean and wished she was dead.
Fantasized about it, more like.
Growing up in Ireland had given her a enduring love of the ocean. She was in awe of its power; how it could go from calm as a child’s rocking crib to an omnipotent force capable of ripping sea cliffs apart in a matter of hours. Her small, weak body craved that kind of strength, and she would slip her shoes off to stand in the shallow, icy waves, praying to it as devotedly as her parents prayed in mass every Sunday.
As a teenager, she would run away to the shoreline any chance she could and let the ocean be the only witness to her desperate tears. She had thought about swimming out into it then, letting a rip tide carry her away to freedom . . . and certain death. Same thing, really. But she hadn’t the courage then.
When she was married off at 16, she stood through the whole long torturous ceremony, daydreaming not of a groom as most girls did, but of stowing away on a ship and fleeing to America.
A year later, with her husband in pieces in his coffin and her dead baby not yet dispelled from her womb, she got that wish granted. Only she had been no stow away; she had been a proper passenger, with her fare paid for by her new manager.
Her voice, and her body, were his for the time being. They often snuck out on deck late at night and he would fuck her from behind, thinking she enjoyed the thrill of potentially being caught as much as he did, but in reality, it was so she could watch the waves ahead of them and ignore the man grunting from behind her.
Men were such pigs, but they were easy to manipulate. He had thought he was using her, but it was the other way around.
It took her a couple more years to be free of him but eventually she was able to dispose of him. Not as violently satisfying as she had dealt with her husband but with a poison that she was able to frame his assistant for.
There were many downsides to being a woman born around the turn of the 20th century but getting away with murder was one of the rare benefits. No men were comfortable admitting that a quaint little five foot nothing girl was capable of causing them harm, let alone hacking them to bits or slipping arsenic into their drink, so she was never the prime suspect in either of those cases.
The Irish Siren was the nickname the Americans had given her and they loved her scandalous life story and the lyrics that were inspired by it in a way that her conservative Catholic homeland could never.
If she had lived to see the roaring twenties, she really could have come into her own.
Mina coughed into her napkin and it came back bloody.
She had been able to make a living touring the nation, completely reliant on her “God given” talent to sing until the age of 24. Not long after that birthday, the coughing started. By the year’s end, it was clear her singing career was over. She was the Irish Siren no more.
The Atlantic ocean had always felt like home to her, so she had stayed on the east coast for as long as she could. Back home in Ireland, the Atlantic was mercurial and always in motion but here in America, she saw its other face. This Atlantic was calmer, steadier, and more reliable. The fair weather, high humidity, and low elevation of the Carolinas were supposed to be good for those suffering from consumption and she was able to continue making a decent living as a poet. She couldn’t sing anymore but she could still write, though she kept her favorite, darkest pieces to herself.
Eventually the itch to travel one last time consumed her thoughts, a stronger acting force than the disease consuming her body, and she saved up enough money to cross the country by train and buy a house on the west coast. She had always meant to see the Great American West and now that her time was growing short, it was now or never.
The Pacific Ocean was so much more than she expected. Here on the coast it was often overcast and rainy, and tricked her mind into being nostalgic for her lost childhood home. She had loved Ireland’s landscapes, enough to almost make her forget how much she had hated her life there.
It was so big, this new ocean. She purchased a globe so that even in the evenings when it grew too dark to see the water, she could still admire the sheer dominating size of the thing. There could be so many secrets hidden beneath its depths. Lost civilizations or ancient Eldritch style monsters long forgotten by the modern world.
If she had worshipped the Atlantic Ocean, she had well and truly fallen in love with the Pacific.
Mina stared out her window, watching the rain, and accepted she would have to wait for another day.
Her plan was to row out on the next sunny, calm morning, get out as far away from the shore as the tide and her sickly body could take her, swallow the rest of the laudanum, slit her wrists, and jump in the water. Let the ocean and its creatures, depths, and secrets have her body. It was better than a casket and a last devotional ceremony to a God she had turned her back on long ago.
She coughed again, and the wracking overcame her frail form, forcing her to sit down and double over. Afterwards, she breathed in as deep as she could, but it was painful and hardly satisfying to her oxygen starved body.
That perfect day had to be very soon or she wasn’t going to live to see it.
From what seemed like a distance, she heard a knocking, and realized it had been going on for a while but she was so lost in her laudanum she hadn’t noticed.
It was probably just her one and only neighbor, a bizarre middle-aged man with more money than wits, and a rather strange collection of exotic animals that tended to get loose. He came over more often than her physician, asking if she had seen any of his escaped creatures. The conversation always turned into a proper visit, and she didn’t have the energy or the patience for his strangeness today. So she ignored the knocking and continued in her reverie. Maybe the would-be visitor would assume she had finally died and would leave her in peace.
She laughed out loud at that thought and triggered another coughing fit.
The world turned glossy again and several minutes to several hours could have gone by as she watched the ocean waves in her drug induced stupor until a voice from behind her lifted her from the fog.
“Hello, Mina.”
She turned in her seat to face the man in her doorway, unsure of who he was at first. After a heartbeat, her mind registered the face.
“Johnathan,” she said, acknowledging him as if she had any idea of why he was standing in her living room like he had every right to be there.
She thought she had done away with him for good. In no uncertain terms she had made it clear to him that unless she wanted to continue being dissatisfied in the bedroom, there was no point in him staying in California for her. She was too sickly to perform any kind of proper wifely duties for him, too barren to give him any more heirs and frankly he had enough of them already, and she was clearly dying soon anyway. The only reason he had to continue to propose to her was for her money, and she had told him frankly she wasn’t stupid enough to leave her fortune to a man such as himself. That had gotten her slapped and though she hadn’t been physically well enough to fight back, she had born the shiner proudly in the mirror for a couple weeks. At least she had been left in peace because he had stormed out of her house after that argument and not returned. She had hoped either the war or the pandemic would kill him, or that she would be dead herself before he had the opportunity to bother her again.
“More prospecting business dragged you back to town, eh love? Come to try and marry a corpse while you’re at it?”
“You were always such a cold-hearted bitch,” he said, and she noticed he was slurring his words even more than she was. “I’m surprised there’s enough heat in you to keep that cunt warmed up.”
She had her faculties about her enough to know to stand up and begin putting distance and furniture between him and her. He had never spoken to her that way before, not even when he had hit her.
Johnathan was always a short-tempered little shit with those he deemed beneath him but he had been well mannered with her up until his last visit. She was lonely and often drunk or drugged since her diagnosis and had allowed herself to be entertained by him now and then.  But she was realizing too late that she had become arrogant and careless around men in the last couple years of her life and forgotten how dangerous an animal they could be when they didn’t get their way.
And Johnathan looked like he regretted not giving her more than a hard slap all those months ago.
Mina ran, as fast and hard as her tired muscles could carry her, and made it all the way into her rarely used kitchen before he was able to catch up. Not that she had any plan or real means of escape.
But she did have knives.
She was able to grab one out of a drawer but then he was on her, slamming her face into the edge of the counter and she dropped to the floor.
Somehow she managed to roll onto her back and face him, all without dropping the knife. But he saw it and was able to grab her arm before she could drive her weapon into him.
Her arms were as weak as everything else in her body but her grip was still strong enough so that he couldn’t pry her fingers off from the around the hilt, at least not while also trying to hold her legs down as she desperately tried to kick at him.
Johnathan gave up his attempt at removing the knife from her hand and instead turned her wrist so that the deadly point was now facing her stomach.
“Stupid bitch,” he hissed out when she got a good hard kick into his shin. “I don’t want to kill you, stop fighting!”
Oh, he just wants to beat and rape me, how considerate, she thought.
Her face was bleeding badly from where it had made contact with the countertop and she tasted her own blood. Johnathan had strength, size, and health on his side of this battle but she had something he likely hadn’t considered.
She had already come to terms with her death. And she was really, truly, quite insane.
Mina stopped trying to hold him away from her and let the knife plunge into her abdomen. It hurt, but there was little wind to knock out of her lungs anymore and she had so many painkillers in her blood at this point, so she hardly felt more than a deep pressure.
Johnathan’s face was brought suddenly closer to her as he wasn’t expecting the sudden stop in resistance against him so she closed the gap between them by sitting up just a couple inches and bit hard into his cheek.
She clenched her jaw down as tightly as she could and felt the flesh tear and a new taste of blood spurted across her tongue.
He screamed and she laughed.
Mina let go as he pulled away suddenly, clasping a hand over his face and still screaming. She wasted no time in yanking the knife from her own stomach and swinging it up and then down again, burying the blade to the hilt in his neck.
It made a squelching noise as it sank in and Johnathan’s screams were replaced with a wheezing expulsion of air.
She brought the knife out and then right back into his chest.
He fell backward and she stabbed again.
And again.
She didn’t stop until the fatigue in her arms made her stop.
Mina struggled to her feet, using the kitchen counter to pull herself up, and looked down at the body of the man she had just slaughtered with her bare hands. He had not been her first victim. Not even her second. And her only solid thought was it was too bad she couldn’t have done that more often, to more men.
She was so out of breath and getting really, really tired now.
Looking down at herself, she realized most of the blood pouring down her dress was her own and remembered she had been stabbed.
Right. Today would be the day after all.
She stumbled through her house and out the back door.
The rain hadn’t stopped but it was alright because she really couldn’t feel the cold.
Just make it to the water. That’s all I want, to feel it one more time.
But it was so far away.
Her house sat a good 200 yards from shore and she was barely off her back porch before vertigo caused her to stumble to the side. It took almost all her remaining energy reserves to get back up and when she did, her vision was so blurry and her head was spinning to the point that she nearly vomited.
She looked down at the hand that was pressed to her bleeding abdomen, trying to will herself to walk the rest of the way down to the water. It was no good. She was surely going to pass out any second now. If she hadn’t been so out of her mind from lack of blood and opium, she likely would have cried.
When she looked back up, she saw the strangest thing.
A panther was crouched, maybe just ten feet from her, still as a statue and looking right at her. Its coat was shiny and mostly black, but light enough in some places that a dark golden-brown pattern of wide spots could be made out along its sides.
Maybe the knocking had been her strange neighbor after all, at least at first. Come to tell her he was missing a member of his collection and to not venture too far out from her house today.
The panther’s irises were green, with gold around the edges, and her poet’s mind declared it the most beautiful eyes she had ever seen.
But it doesn’t have a panther’s face, she thought, that’s the face of death.
It leapt for her then and she simply sat down. When it landed, she had a moment to feel its weight push her back into the sand beneath her.
She kept her eyes open as its teeth found her neck but she was already too far gone to feel any more pain.

Since I've seen a few lists of "Conservative, right-wing, and/or borderline fascist ideas that get unquestioningly passed around leftist, liberal, and progressive spaces," I thought I'd add my own:
The amount of personal freedom or bodily autonomy someone has is inversely proportional to the amount of material support they receive from others/society/government. It is somehow "hypocritical" to advocate both material support for all and bodily autonomy for all.
Straight men want sex. Straight women do not want sex. Women want romance, commitment, monogamy, and marriage. If a man has sex with a woman without giving her these things, he is in some way harming, "preying on," or "taking advantage" of her. If a woman agrees to such an arrangement, she must be led astray, traumatized, or suffering from low self-esteem.
Someone's sexual desires or patterns of attraction are a large and important component of their overall morality as a person. Sexual desires and patterns of attraction, even if never acted upon, can mean that someone is an Intrinsically Bad Person.
People are marginalized for being smarter than other people. This is a real problem that has to be addressed.
Identities like nationalities, cultures, ethnicities, and religions are fixed and absolute, with firm, defined boundaries between them. Ferreting out people who transgress or "fake" these identities is important, necessary, and a good use of time and resources.
Cultural groups should generally remain separate and clearly distinct from one another. Cross-cultural influence (anything from loanwords to intermarriage to migration) is, by default, Generally Bad.
Religion is primarily a matter of external social identification by others, not a matter of choice, personal belief, or self-identification. Someone might choose to reject their family's religion or embrace a different one, but this is inherently inauthentic, play-acting, appropriation, or the result of manipulation. People are always "really" or "rightfully" the religion they were assigned at birth.
There is some sort of connection between health and morality. Whether it's "Being virtuous will keep you healthy" or "Being sick is a moral failing" or "Doing things that endanger your health is morally wrong" or "Medical doctors are moral authorities."
Having to do a lot of manual labor to survive is good for people. Virtuous people enjoy it.
The world would be a better place if production of food and other necessities were radically decentralized and de-mechanized, resulting in a lot more people having to do a lot more manual labor to survive. Economies of scale and labor-saving technology are bad. "Growing your own food" is possible, desirable, and virtuous.
There was a time in human history when life was good for everyone and there were no problems. Any inconvenient questions about problems that may have existed back then are just propaganda.
There are Intrinsically Bad People whose Intrinsic Badness can in some way be detected or measured through some kind of scientific, medical, and/or spiritual assessment -- whether it's "He has bad vibes" or "She's a diagnosed malignant narcissist sociopath" or "They're possessed by demons."
Violence is good and justified when dealing with Intrinsically Bad People, and if you disagree, you must be saying that Intrinsically Bad People and the Intrinsically Bad Things We All Know They Intrinsically Do are somehow good, which maybe means that you're also an Intrinsically Bad Person.
These are specifically right-wing ideas that have found new homes and new coats of paint in leftist, progressive, and liberal circles. I'm not even listing things that are just universal across the political spectrum, like "eugenics is good" or "children are property." Just the specifically reappropriated fascism and ethnonationalism reframed as "the people's" authoritarian homestead culture.

Sarah Posner for TPM:
I am a journalist who has covered the Christian right for two decades. Over the past three years, I began to more frequently use the term “Christian nationalism” to describe the movement I cover. But I did not start using a new term to suggest its proponents’ ideology had changed. Instead, the term had come into more common usage in the Trump era, now regularly used by academics, journalists, and pro-democracy activists to describe a movement that insists America is a “Christian nation” — that is, an illiberal, nominally democratic theocracy, rather than a pluralistic secular democracy. To me, the phrase was highly descriptive of the movement I’ve dedicated my career to covering, and neatly encapsulates the core threat the Christian right poses to freedom and equality. From its top leaders and influencers down to the grassroots — politically mobilized white evangelicals, the foot soldiers of the Christian right — its proponents believe that God divinely ordained America to be a Christian nation; that this Christian nation has come under attack by liberals and secularists; and that patriotic Christians must engage in spiritual warfare to rid America of demonic forces, and in political action to restore its Christian heritage. That includes taking political steps — as a voter, as an elected official, as a lawyer, as a judge — to ensure that America is governed according to a “biblical worldview.”
If you want to see that definition in action, look no further than the career of House Speaker Mike Johnson. Seventeen years ago, when I interviewed Johnson, then a lawyer with the Christian right legal powerhouse Alliance Defending Freedom, I would have labeled him a loyal soldier in the Christian right’s legal army trying to bring down the separation of church and state. He is a product of and a participant in a sprawling religious and political infrastructure that has made the movement’s successes possible, from politically active megachurches, to culture-shaping organizations like Focus on the Family, to political players like the Family Research Council, to the legal force in his former employer ADF.
In today’s parlance, Johnson is a Christian nationalist — although he, like most of his compatriots, has certainly not embraced the label. But Mike Johnson the House Speaker is still Mike Johnson the lawyer I interviewed all those years ago: an evangelical called to politics to be a “servant leader” to a Christian nation, dedicated to its governance according to a biblical worldview: against church-state separation, for expanded rights for conservative Christians, adamantly against abortion and LGBTQ rights, and especially, currently, trans rights. That mindset is still the beating heart of the Christian right, even as the movement, and other movements in the far-right space, have radicalized in the Trump era, taking on new forms and embracing a range of solutions to the apocalyptic trajectory they see America to be on. Different movements imagining a version of Christian supremacy exist side by side — different strains that often borrow ideas from one another, and that fit comfortably under the banner of Christian nationalism.
The term “Christian nationalism” became popularized during Trump’s presidency for a few reasons. First, Trump, who first ran in 2016 on a nativist platform with the nationalist slogan “Make America Great Again,” was and still is dependent on white evangelicals to win elections and maintain a hold on power. He is consequently willing to carry out their goals, bringing their ambitions closer to fruition than they’ve ever been in their 45-year marriage to the Republican Party. They have been clear, for example, in crediting him for the downfall of Roe v. Wade, among other assaults on other peoples’ rights.
Second, the prominence of Christian iconography at the January 6 insurrection, and the support for Trump’s stolen election lie before, during, and after January 6 by both Christian right influencers and the grassroots, brought into stark relief that Christian nationalist motivations helped fuel his attempted coup.   Finally, sociologists studying the belief systems of Christian nationalists pushed the term into public usage, as did anti-nationalist Christians, especially after January 6, in order to elevate awareness of the threats Christian nationalism poses to democracy. (The paperback edition of my book, Unholy, which was published in mid-2021 and included a post-January 6 afterword, reflected the increasing usage of the term Christian nationalists by including the term in a fresh subtitle.)
The Trump era, along with the rise of openly Christian nationalist social media sites like Gab, and Elon Musk’s takeover of Twitter, have given space for otherwise unknown figures, like the rabidly antisemitic Gab founder Andrew Torba, co-author of the book Christian Nationalism: A Biblical Guide For Taking Dominion And Discipling Nations, and Stephen Wolfe, author of the racist book The Case for Christian Nationalism, to enter the Christian nationalism discourse. Although Torba and Wolfe have made waves online, and extremism watchers are rightly alarmed that their tracts could prove influential and radicalizing, they remain distinct from the Christian right.
[...]
The conventional Christian right does not want a parallel society or a divorce. They believe they are restoring, and will run, the Christian nation God intended America to be — from the inside. They will do that, in their view, through faith (evangelizing others and bringing them to salvation through Jesus Christ); through spiritual warfare (using prayer to battle satanic enemies of Christian America); and through politics and the law (governing and lawmaking from a “biblical worldview” after eviscerating church-state separation). Changes in the evangelical world, particularly the emphasis in the growing charismatic movement on prophecy, signs and wonders, spiritual warfare, the prosperity gospel, and Trumpism, has intensified the prominence of the supernatural in their politics, giving their Christian nationalism its own unmistakable brand.
For decades, Christian right has been completely open about their beliefs and goals. Their quest to take dominion over American institutions by openly evangelizing and instituting Christian supremacist policies sets the Christian right apart from other types of Christian nationalists who might operate in secret, or imagine utopian communities as the ideal way to save themselves from a secular, debauched nation.  The fact that far-right extremists like Torba or Wolfe embrace the Christian nationalist label gives the more conventional Christian right leaders and organizations space to disassociate themselves from it. Some also berate journalists who use it to describe them, accusing them of hurling a left-wing slur at Christians.
The bottom line is that Christian nationalism takes on different forms, and despite organizational or even ideological differences, ideas can penetrate the often porous borders between different camps. Someone who receives the daily email blast from the Family Research Council might also be drawn to Wolfe’s book, for example. On a more unnerving, macro level, major right-wing and GOP figures, including Marjorie Taylor Greene and the CEO of the Daily Wire, the podcast consortium run by conservative influencer Ben Shapiro, have embraced the rabidly antisemitic, Hitler-admiring antagonist Nick Fuentes, who is Catholic but also is accurately described as a Christian nationalist. The increasingly influential Catholic integralist movement, which seeks a Catholic-inflected replacement for the “liberal order,” is yet another unique form of Christian nationalism.
Sarah Posner wrote for TPM about the variants of Christian Nationalism within the larger Christian Right movement.

"I've lived my life with blade and you always in my mind"
ᴏᴄ: 𝚄𝚣𝚞𝚒 𝙺𝚊𝚐𝚊𝚖𝚒
Synopsis: This is information about the protagonist of my story! If you wish to know more about Kagami, feel free to read this post! I think she's a complex character yet simple at the same time cuz her motivation remains the same no matter all the overthinking.
Note/s: Might change this depending on how the story goes
Masterlist: TOC, Side Story, Main Story
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Inspiration:
The Uzui clan is inspired by Uzui Tengen from Kimetsu no Yaiba. In this story, he's an ancestor who was part of the frontlines of kaiju-slaying, however, he resorted to assisting in the sidelines after losing an arm. Demons no longer exist but there are records though its history is now forgotten due to the existence of kaijus. The Uzui clan used to value its history and respects its ancestors but as time goes by it is no longer as followed. It started from the personal blade style being hard to use thus making the family focus on other technical skills as a specialty to other things. If only some of them didn't get too greedy.
Uzui Tengen being an ancestor doesn't automatically mean that he's the original cuz there were people before him. Remember how he killed his siblings thus being the only one left alive? It's still mentioned in this fanfic but that's it. He is just Kagami's favorite ancestor because of his sword style and flamboyance which is the opposite of her personality.
Occupation:
Platoon Leader of the First Division
Unleashed Combat Power:
25% (before joining First Division); 43% (default) to 89-95% (after total concentration breathing)
Appearance:
Kagami is a small woman at 149cm with a sleeper build. Her arm muscles are toned but isn't noticeable much as she makes sure it doesn't get too big. Just like most Japanese woman, her eyes and hair is black. Her default expression would be a small polite smile, honed from years of practicing it cuz women of Uzui family should always smile. She rarely does makeup but would definitely do so when meeting Soshiro. She's actually considered beautiful and pretty by a lot of people but she doesn't believe it nor does she know.
Her hair is long enough to cover her bottom and she dyed a streak of it the same as her captain's since it's tradition for platoon leaders of the first division to do so. She values tradition so she never really cuts her hair aside from trims. If it wasn't inconvenient, she would never have cut it at all. To be honest, she wouldn't have dyed her hair too if it didn't gave her a sense of freedom or if she didn't actually respect her captain to which she does.
Before, she lets her long hair down then ties it in a high ponytail on missions but when she saw Ashiro Mina doing the same, she changed her style. When at work, she wears it in a loose braid cascading over her left shoulder. On a normal day though, she would put it in a half bun half down hairstyle. When off-duty, she would put it in a classic bun but since she's still engaged, it was just half. She would accessorize it using a hairpin gifted to her by Soshiro and her engagement ring on her left ring finger.
When on-duty, she would wear the usual Defense Force uniform or the standard combat suit. When off-duty, she would usually wear conservative outfits that covers her ankles, collarbones and arms. An example would be long dresses and cardigans or maxi skirts with long-sleeved blouses. At home, she would wear a kimono or a traditional training outfit.
Mostly as a child, Kagami was mostly identical to her current appearance just without the baby fat. Her hair still reaches her shoulders and dons traditional training outfits or kimono.
Likes:
Hoshina Soshiro💕, the First Division, kaiju-slaying, training, reading, her favorite ancestor, reading, when she's hospitalized
Dislikes:
herself, Soshiro getting hurt, people in general, failing, her family
Personality:
Before meeting Soshiro for the very first time, Kagami has always been a shy girl. She would hide behind her mother/father whenever people she didn't know were around. She was born quiet, without crying as soon as she got out from her mother's womb. That's how they knew she was meant to be a shinobi, even if her silence concerns her parents.
After meeting Soshiro, she was still shy but she gradually spoke up enough to make her parents proud. Most of her topics were asking about how she could be a good wife or what she could do to make her fiancee notice her. Though everything was for naught as she stammers when in front of him and wasn't able to keep a conversation at all.
After her mother died, Kagami learned how to hide her emotions the hard way. She was taught to smile no matter the situation, even when she was being punished for no reason. She became calm and composed, rarely showing any other emotions other than the polite smile on her face. At an early age, she learned how to distinguish the faces of those with good or bad intentions. Also heartbroken at the fact that she could never really trust anyone in her family, even her father. She learned to keep her thoughts and feelings to herself, only showing them to the person she trusts the most, Hoshina Soshiro.
In a family of shinobis/ninjas, one's strengths is their ability to conceal themselves at will, something that Kagami mastered early on. It became incredibly useful when she entered middle school as she'd be encountering numerous strangers in her everyday life. She was originally an introvert and so it drains her to be around people. Still, she had to be polite and communicate with them properly, all for the sake of connections. She hates crowds and would often have a mental breakdown the moment something goes wrong but she still had to act normal on the outside.
It was during high school that she first starting feeling the cracks in her mask. It wasn't that bad at first as her confidence was unaffected still. But the pressure definitely got to her as she struggled to keep up with her studies along with training. The expectations were constantly weighing her down but she got through it because of Soshiro being by her side.
After joining the Defense Force on their original division, Kagami finally felt the reality of her situation. She had a hard time increasing her suit's unreleased power only maxing it until 25%. She definitely felt the disappointment of the people around her which impacted her confidence a lot. She started being paranoid and having self-esteem issues that got worse when Soshiro left.
When Soshiro left to join the Third Division, that was the start of her downfall. Her issues got worse along with the people pointedly criticizing her in front of her face and back. There was no longer anyone to shield her, after all. She struggled along with the feelings of insecurities and inferiority, of what she could and couldn't be. She learned to steel herself and closing off her walls, thus isolating herself even more. She hypnotized herself by chanting "Soshiro will hate her if she didn't improve, her family will disown her if she didn't improve, she'll die in a few years time if she didn't improve, she won't ever get to marry the one she loves if she didn't improve" and the likes.
Before joining the First Division, Kagami lost all hope in other people recognizing her efforts. That's why she kept to herself focusing only on her improvements and not what they're saying. Soshiro will be surprised if he sees her being so cold and calculating. At first, she didn't trust Isao Shinomiya when he told her she had potential like it was lip service. She also hated how he told her that they'd been watching her for a long time undeciding whether to actually recruit her or not, but in the end they eventually relented.
After joining the First Division, Kagami encountered a new struggle. She once again was surrounded by strong people who she couldn't keep up with. Her unleashed force was part of the bottom feed, barely even scratching the surface. She felt like a joke compared to everyone around her. That's why she felt a sense of camaraderie with officer Narumi. He was also an outcast like her but was clearly stronger, just that his eccentricity goes in the way.
Narumi Gen was someone who pushed her to do her best. He always insulted her at first yet she still stays by his side. Kagami considers him to be the very first friend she made as he was blunt with her in front of her face yet defends her behind her back. She was very grateful to him and respect him a lot. She loves her own personal space and understood that he also loves his own and she respects that. So she couldn't understand the people who would destroy his precious belongings in order to make him listen to them. Cause it felt like seeing herself, when other people try to take what's hers and she just let them. She doesn't like to see it happen with other people.
Her personality takes a turn during neutralizations. It wasn't like her usual polite way but rather more harsh as lives were at stake. Granted she try to be as gentle was possible but she tends to focus on what's in front of her and her surroundings. As a shinobi, her priority is to defeat the kaiju in a fast manner. Opting for sneaky and swift way of elimination. She was used to going solo and not relying on any support so she had to be harsh if she wanted to be heard.
As a Platoon Leader, however, her priority is to ensure that none of her comrades or civilians get hurt in the crossfire. In doing so, she had to be vocal in her thoughts and observations. Her professionalism is at its peak with being all serious and unrelenting. She had to reconsider her words and actions to benefit her squad. She lets them shine by stepping back then asserting herself when she deemed it dangerous. She finds herself complimenting her squadron for their good work and giving them advice on how to be better. She wanted to be someone who they could rely on even if she's not as strong as she wanted to be.
Nevertheless, her self-esteem and confidence is still rock bottom as she just deluded herself to think otherwise. She wouldn't survive if she lets every little thing get to her and affect her life. Strangers are just strangers. The people who can affect her the most are her family, her superiors from the First Division, and Soshiro. All three had the ability to kick down her walls and beat her to a pulp. Cause no matter how hard she denies it, her whole being relies on them.
Kagami is kind to a fault by letting people take advantage of her, knowing full well that that's their intention. Her motto is to fake it 'til you make it. That's why the whole First Division is so protective of her, even if they didn't know the mental breakdowns and panic attacks that happen every second. The First Division does notice her being humble and not letting her achievements get to her head. And that sometimes she would depreciate herself without noticing and they'll immediately tell her the opposite thus killing her with embarrassment.
Growing up in an environment that values tradition above all else, Kagami grew to love her family's history and has etched it deep into her heart and soul. That's always the first thing she considers when dressing up, neutralizing kaijus, and romancing her fiance. Well, she does most of it in a conservative way, contrasting the flamboyant attitude of her favorite ancestor. That's why she can't handle Soshiro's teasing well, along with other people.
She also has a lot of expectations on herself like other people do. If their expectations of her was around 100% then the expectation on herself would be 1000%. She typically blames herself for not reaching it, calling herself weak. She's incredibly harsh on herself despite being kind to others. She's easily jealous and insecure so she blames herself even more for thinking that way, wondering when she started getting twisted. Her kindness is a way to make her feel grounded and safe, from other people and herself.
This is a secret that she keeps to herself and never told anyone, I think even she doesn't know it but when she'd pushed to the brink, she can be a pretty crazy person. The only reason she's still alive and well is because of Soshiro so if you take him away forcefully, there will be hell. This is mainly the reason she doesn't let her jealousy and insecurities win as she trusts in Soshiro and doesn't want him to hate her.
Skills:
**if you think it's OP then please look at Uzui Tengen's wiki cause I just used the same abilities he has.
Kaiju-slaying
Sound Breathing - this is a common practice for everyone in their household as it's their specialty. One must learn how to breathe this or else they aren't real children of the house.
Total Concentration Breathing - not many people in her household can do so but she did with her religious training. That's the main reason she's still an heir and her father as the head of the clan. She does this unconsciously even in her sleep that's why her wounds heal so fast and she has immense physical prowess. It also aids in healing her faster when paired with the new technology of using kaiju regeneration.
Indomitable Will - also one of the reasons why she hasn't given up yet. Her will to survive, be with Soshiro, and fix her mental health is because of this. Her love is far stronger than her wish for death hence her will is unbreakable. There's only one person who can destroy hell will y'know. No kaijus can ever beat that.
Echolocation - her sense of hearing and touch is incredibly sensitive so if she enhances it, she would be able to locate any hidden kaijus just by listening to soundwaves. It's proven to be more effective on site, the operations squad could never compare.
Tactical Intellect - with her echolocation and information about kaijus, she's able to formulate a strategy on the spot though it requires her to be at the frontlines to do so.
Shinobi training
Enhanced Stealth - she is able to conceal her presence at will and sneak up on people. She doesn't usually do this but unconsciously scares people when she speak up not knowing she was there in the first place. She practices it the most with the people she dislikes as it makes it easier for her to avoid them.
Poison Resistance - as a child, she was fed poison everyday in order to gain immunity once she grows up. It also meant that most medicines don't work on her so she had to take special care in not getting injured. She was really glad for the new technology developed that uses kaiju's regeneration ability to heal as it would heal her up pretty quickly without having a hard time. Also, she experiments with the new diluted poisons from kaijus. She wonders if she has to detoxify her body first to have a child.
Enhanced Hearing - just like in echolocation, her ears and skin are sensitive. Easily picking up words from about 100 meters away. Because of that, she has to request they turn her communication device at the lowest volume.
Physical
Muscle Control - she has the ability to loosen or tighten her muscles at will. She practiced it alone as she wasn't allowed to do so as a child for it might cause severe issues when she fails to control it properly. She read that her favorite ancestor did it so she also did it. She could pretend to die and it would fool even the operations squad.
Immense Speed, Stamina, Strength, Endurance, & Reflexes - as a woman, this was definitely a struggle for her since she was short and weaker then most. But with hard work, she was able to do it without getting tired. It still depends on the extent of the workout. Soshiro could defeat her in terms of speed but he couldn't beat her in the others. Soshiro still hasn't mastered total concentration breathing that she taught him, if he did then he'll be able to overpower her easily.
Personal Weapon:
CC-0105 or Chained Cleavers [heavily inspired by Gyomei and Tengen's weapons].
A personal weapon primarily made for the Uzui family as it's only them who could freely manipulate such a complicated weapon. The chain was initially added to resemble a nunchucks but got modified to be longer in order to be used as both a long-ranged and short-ranged weapon. A lot of people attempted to use it but it being a specialty made for those who trained at an earlier age or talented, it lost a lot of users thus dwindling it's number in production. Kagami, an avid fan of Tengen, practiced the weapon religiously as a child and adult thus she was able to wield it freely and with ease. (This is also the primary reason why she was considered weak as normal weapons weren't compatible with her)
Relationship/s:
Hoshina Soshiro
He is her fiancee since childhood and they are smitten with each other. He's the love of her life and her obsession, and the reason she still chooses to live despite the hardships. They decided to be strictly professional when it comes to work but affectionate when in private. They make use of their days off so they could spend time with each other more.
Narumi Gen
One of the main causes of her fiance's jealousy despite him denying it. Gen is someone she highly respects and has become an important person in her life. She isn't a fan of skinship when it comes someone other than her fiance but if it's for work, they she had to swallow it. She considers them to be friends as she likes how blunt he is with her. He doesn't talk behind her back, rather he'd defend her if she doesn't do it herself. He actually advocated for her use of personal weapon despite the force preferring firearms, he doesn't want her skills to be a waste and he's correct in his judgement cuz her strength is almost on par with him. She used to be Soshiro's support but now she is Gen's support, something she takes pride in (just like how Soshiro takes pride in being Mina's vice captain).
She respects his boundaries and never throws away his things even after cleaning his room. He taught her how to play video games and it's their bonding as friends. She understands his feelings of rivalry with her fiance but would scold him if he goes too far. She felt a sense of kinship with him from the very start. She willingly dyed her hair as a sign of respect despite denying it by saying it's only for tradition. It's also pretty funny how bug their height difference is yet she's the one carrying him everywhere.
Vice Captain Hasegawa Eiji
She respects this man a lot for his tolerance to their captain. He is also one of the first people who believed in her after seeing her skills once. He is gentle and good with her, knowing just how much she's struggling, and also because he reciprocates her kindness. He's also specially fond of her because she keeps Gen in line. Gen would listen to her most of the time even if he just lets her carry him. He's incredibly grateful for her hardwork.
Shinonome Rin
A good friend and former roommate. Their personality didn't use to be compatible but her heart was softened by Kagami's persistence and kindness. She's genuinely worried for her friend's mental health as she's the one who was able to observe her up close when they were still officers. She used to ship her with Captain Narumi before finding out she has a fiance. She's also the one who dyed Kagami's hair and would sometimes style it!
Ashiro Mina
She used to be someone Kagami admires, she still does but she admits that her jealousy makes her a bit uncomfortable with it. That is primarily the reason she didn't choose to join the Third Division when the offer was extended as she didn't want to be compared and hate her. She still likes Mina though for believing in her fiance's abilities. She immediately stopped getting jealous after learning about Kafka's relationship with Mina.
Mina doesn't have any particular thoughts about her, only knowing that she's the fiancee of her vice captain. Although she's quite disappointed that she didn't join her force, she's glad Kagami was able to make use of her strengths in the First Division (she's still salty with it though). She also respects Kagami for her dedication to the force and respect for rule and order. She doesn't force PDA on her vice captain yet she feels a headache everytime he request a day off as it meant either of them are sick or he'd force his way to the First Division to make her rest. She still couldn't forget the headache it brought her the first time around when vice captain Hasegawa told her of his unwanted visit and demand. Nevertheless, she's also fine with her barging in the Third Division to demand that he rest as he really does need to.
Hibino Kafka
Soshiro told her about him from the start, about how an interesting recruit joined the force and his relationship with Mina. When he arrived at the First Division, she was shocked to find out he was a humanoid kaiju but was reassured by Soshiro. He asked her to look after him and Kikoru to which she did without question. Needless to say, they get along well as she didn't get scared of him at all, trusting her fiance's words more than anyone else's (it made Kafka thankful to have someone believe in him immediately). She actually finds Kafka as a funny person who makes her laugh at the dumbest of things. Especially when he tells her all about her fiance's shinenigans in the Third Division. Kafka thinks she's an angel compared to his vice captain though.

I worry a lot about how damaging the popular social media “living in tune with your hormones” trends could be. Like people living their whole life revolved around their period (because they’re usually selling you something, or claiming to possess hidden truths) it makes me feel crazy because I’m like….all power to people who have debilitating periods and I’m so sorry they experience that, but I think most of us menstruate without it totally derailing our lives, and I don’t want men to have reasons to believe that periods rule us. How do we balance people seeking medical help when they need it for hormone/period problems, and not acting like we are all powerless to the forces of our uteruses? Also many many of my friends have gone off of birth control because of what they see on social media. I now feel like they think I’m a bit stupid for buying into The System and still having my hormonal IUD.
i was just discussing this with a mutual but in the us, access to birth control (like the pill, but also including condoms in some states) was only made legal for single people in 1972... demonizing it, our hormones, and whatnot is absolutely not the way to go about improving access to reproductive health. i feel very scared about this tbh because this is part of a coordinated plan by evangelicals and republicans to make contraception and family planning methods like iuds, the pill, and more illegal. clarence thomas WANTS people to challenge griswold v connecticut, which is what gave married couples the right to contraception. conservatives are ACTIVELY, right now, gunning to get rid of accessibility to contraception and family planning in opposition to feminism and personal freedom. this shit is real! people on tiktok might think they're just "questioning" and "exercising their personal freedom" without understanding the larger picture. this isn't just some scary possibility, it is a goal that republicans have been working towards since the 70s.

I gave up on being pro life publicly and online. The genocide in the Congo and in Gaza have proved it to me that many western women who run those pro life accounts don’t care for children. Many babies have been lost due to hospital bombings. More children are displaced with no families.
I’ve tried reaching out when they talk about saving children in generic posts because very real babies are losing their lives by IDF terrorism. And I get blocked or I get told “that’s different/ they’re Muslim/they should have left already/I don’t care” over and over and over again. The countless videos are already out that have children begging and crying for their families they lost or the homes that can’t be saved. Some of the worst messages I read criticized and blame the Palestinian men too that they should be protecting the kids, so when they die, it’s actually Palestinians fault. Not the IDF. Meanwhile those “young men” are just teenagers because their parents are dead. The Congolese topic is worst. Many are begging people to stop buying the iPhone 15 to raise awareness over the issues there but I got told by one girl who likes to call herself an anti woke submissive wife that she couldn’t care less about the Congo, she’s going to do whatever her husband wants, if that means ignoring genocide then that’s what she will do too. It’s her god given to have freedom over dead bodies l…
I’m fed up. I’m sick of the hypocrisy. I’m sick of seeing stupid homestead content of how they’re at peace taking care of a home as they purposefully condone genocide. If some hacker group exposed all these “submissive Godly trad wife” accounts as being agents for Israel to distract the west from IDF war crimes, I wouldn’t be surprised the least. Their apathy is demonic
@not-your-average-prolifer is the only pro life blog who passed the vibe check as far as I know. She reblogged posts about the emergency of pregnant women in Palestine and also post about mental health of middle east women. I think she is left leaning (correct me if I'm wrong!) so I'm not surprised to see her with more empathy about whatever's happening to women abroad, unlike Conservatives who are extremely stupid & uneducated when it comes to foreign affairs, if not straight up xenophobic.
I hope for every single Christian I know to never open their mouth about uwu Christianism is from Middle east uwu ever again the next time someone calls Christianism white man's religion or I'll go berserk on them. They better shut up forever. They had no problem to keep their mouth shut witnessing the martyrdom of our brothers - they better keep it that way permanently and stop summoning their struggle once it's convenient to them. YES, they proved they definitely consider Christianism a white man thing, considering our little care they have for our (non white) Christian brothers overseas. They better keep them out of their mouth permanently.
"They're Muslim" it's been well documented that there are Christians in Palestine. But even if they weren't, Christ wants everyone to be saved and accept him as their lord and savior - refusing to extend some basic empathy to people being bombed and killed in their sin is not the way to go. Never forget that Jesus didn't heal or saved only Jews, but also pagans, prostitutes, etc. It's insane how so unemphatic "Christians" have become.
Christian Palestinians are actually some of the oldest Christians - like, where do they those idiots think Jerusalem was?? where did the Pentecost happen? IN MIAMI?? KANSAS?? "They should have left" WHERE?? aren't the ppl pulling out this argument the same crybabies whining about woke culture destroying western civilization? Why didn't they leave the western zone already??? Also aren't they the same against immigration and how men fleeing their country are lazy cowards? so why are they mad at Palestinians sticking to their land?? Damn, Western politicians/diplomacy have the opportunity to do the funniest thing possible and mass import Palestinians in western countries to abide Zionists requirements in Israel 💀
And LOL oh so now Palestinian men are supposed to protect children? what are they supposed to do when the IDF is bombing their house? Take weapons to defend/get back their land and shit? Oh my bad, that makes them terrorists (and let's be clear : what happened on October 7th is unjustifiable but let's not act like the Hamas wasn't called terrorist much earlier than that). It's a damned if you do, damned if you don't. If they do nothing, they're cowards, and if they do, they are terrorists - because in this case, resistance is defiance. Ultimately they just want to deflect from their own lack on empathy and find a rational explanation to that.
Conservative scrotes are the LAST people who should lecture anyone about defending the children when there are acting bullying kids young enough to be their grandchildren calling them wokes, leftists, or whatever. I won't even start about gun violence and how deflective they are about protecting the children only to protect their precious right to carry. Ghouls. They only care abt unborn babies because they are unable to call them out on their bs yet. Once they do, they'll cuss them, call them woke, and all sort of -ists.
On TikTok there was a Christian girl saying how Christians are "too emotional" and how we should keep supporting "God chosen people" (Israel). I already made a post calling out how this "god chosen people " narrative didn't stand now that we were in the NEW COVENANT. But let's follow her train of thought: isn't humankind made from God image? Where do emotions come from? Didn't God himself have emotion? Why? What's the right or wrong place to have emotion? She and all the clown who agreed with her would never be able to reply those questions. We've all seen the videos. I did what I could to avoid them but they're quite unavoidable at this point. What's the correct emotion after seeing 2 kids younger than 10 carrying a third one crying while one of his foot was hanging with only one tendon?? This girl, along with every single Christian unmoved by this disaster has to shut up. Their heart is a stone and they should stop trying to lecture people who still have a heart made of flesh. We're not the same. Christ is PEACE. Not war or violence.
And girl, you really shouldn't even engage with women labelling themselves "anti woke submissive wife" 💀 why would you expect them to care about anything but their idol (husband)? Stay focus on what really matters. Peace and God. We're in the end times and God is slowly but surely unfolding the truth. The masks are slipping. Take note of all the so called who remained silent witnessing satan action, take proper action, and go on.

I really do love how the world of Genshin Impact, of Teyvat, is set up to guide the Traveler to godhood and make them a "good" god at that.
Because one thing is for sure Celestia is limiting the world - it is paraded as the highest of high ideals to achieve but all it's appointed Archons are named after demons. As a metatextual reader this creates an immediate discrepancy between the "heavens" imploying "demons" to rule humanity. Furthermore, Venti calls Celestia's waters foul, its fruit bland. A front that looks all nice and shiny but is rotten at its core.
And while somehow the Traveler's Sibling was made part of the world and conversely is under the laws of Teyvat's existence, the Traveler themselves is not. They are an outsider unbound by the rules and affected differently than the inhabitants of this world.
And as they set out to find their Sibling (notably, GUIDED by Paimon whose irl mythological counterpart is also a King of Hell), they traverse the world and meet its Archons. Along the way they learn, consciously or not, what makes a "good life" and how the gods all try to enforce their ideals - their dreams. One after another, the gods, the lands, the world itself imparts their dreams of a good life upon the Traveler.
The kind but apathetic Traveler that from the beginning only ever cared for their lost Sibling, not for the world of Teyvat. The blank slate that continues on without a single dream of their own. This Fallen Star, who has traveled hundreds and thousands of worlds before, learns what it means to live and to care for the future of this world.
And so their journey slowly teaches them:
In Mondstadt, they learn of the importance of Freedom as one of humanity's highest ideals - thus always to tyrants. Deep down we're all meant to be free.
In Liyue, they learn that for society to function properly there needs to be a social contract between the people, the gods, nature itself. Because "even the wind cannot blow on forever." Freedom cannot exist without Order.
In Inazuma, they learn that linging to the past will only serve to make the world stagnant. Order is all well and good but trying to conserve the past will only prolong grief and suffering. Change is inevitable - the only thing to ever be eternal - and dreams the catalyst.
In Sumeru, they learn that history is written, it is malleable. But while it may sometimes is better to erase pieces to lead to a brighter future, you can't erase history to escape responsibility and accountability. To know ourselves and others well is the most difficult and meaningful work to do. Knowledge is a blessing and a burden - and we bear the responsibility to hold ourselves and others accountable for the actions and paths we choose.
And the Traveler's journey continues on, even as they suffer, have to learn how to handle their own emotions, and decide for themselves what they want the future to be. And they continue to learn until the day of their ascendancy...
When their wishes, their dreams, become strong enough to reach the False Heavens and the Starry Abyss.
