Went to a Green Day concert the other day, and we’re doing DragonCon today with a bunch of friends. Exciting week!

Still thinking about Hozier and am currently feeling incredulous about the “fairy goblin gentle bog man” perception so many people have of him. WHERE did that all come from??? Solely from Wasteland, Baby???? Listening back to self titled is insane because nearly all of the songs are overtly or subtextually sexual or political, or both! Take Me to Church goes straight into Angel of Small Death and the Codeine Scene, there’s a brief upbeat interlude with Someone New but goes right back into it with To Be Alone. It Will Come Back. Foreigner’s God!! The “goblin”est songs off this album as far as I can pick are In a Week and Like Real People Do, and even those are so much richer than -core ing them enables them to be. For 2014 I’d say this is music that borders on gritty and morbid, it’s not designed to be palatable. AND YET!! The complexity of Hozier’s music being boiled down to an easily accessible aesthetic makes me want to 💥💥💥‼️

I’ve decided that if AE1 is anything less than excellent, I’m calling it quits with being an active K-pop consumer once and for all. Not bc I’m an annoying akgae that hates everyone else in the industry or whatnot, I’m just done with the constant disappointments and bad news and mismanagement that happens to pretty much every group, and extremely frequently to the three of my faves. I’ve tried getting into other groups but I haven’t found any that appealed to my specific tastes and standards AND have non-frustrating management. I’ve constantly make posts such as “[K-pop group with immense but unexplored potential] x [extremely talented non K-pop musician who takes the risks K-pop companies should] collab when?” for a good while. If all these artists outside of K-pop are giving me what I truly need and if I know my fave groups’ companies are gonna let me down pretty much every single time, what’s the point?

Well... Perhaps this Rat gave the version you mentioned a listen. And perhaps, it was not as bad as I remembered.

So anyways it's my mom's birthday today and after she left my dad wanted to surprise her by hanging up a poster of her favorite artist.

Except he didn't get a poster, he got a TAPESTRY, and her favorite artist is PITBULL. And I don't know if he purposefully got the most ironic tapestry he could find, but--

Some of the sayings on the poster, in case you can't read them: "Pitbull's been there, done that <3", "no drama please", "cute but deadly", "keep calm and pitbull on", and my favorite, "live laugh pitbull".

I am struggling.

It gets better. After my dad put it up, my dog IMMEDIATELY started barking and was VERY upset, and so my dad very calmly scooped him up, brought him to tapestry, and said "look, it's alright. It's not a cat. It's Pitbull. It's not a squirrel. Its Pitbull." And it fucking WORKED.

Anyways. Sometimes I go to my writing workshops and people are like "Wow based on your stories I feel like you must have a really dramatic family life" and I don't think this is what they mean by that but oh boy do I ever.
