JOMP Book Photo Challenge / November / 3 / older than me
For today's prompt in the JOMP Book Photo Challenge, I couldn't resist showcasing one of my absolute favourites: a beloved and cherished thrift find of War and Peace by Lev Tolstoy. This particular edition is 44 years old.

JOMP BPC - 3rd November - Older Than Me
This dictionary belonged to my mum. It's not old enough to have been from her childhood, but it's definitely older than me. It has very fragile, very faded flowers pressed in it. She must have put them there as an adult, which I'm finding very moving.

JOMP Book Photo Challenge / November / 12 / want to re-read
"In a hole in the ground there lived a hobbit. Not a nasty, dirty, wet hole, filled with the ends of worms and an oozy smell, nor yet a dry, bare, sandy hole with nothing in it to sit down on or to eat: it was a hobbit-hole, and that means comfort."
from The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien

Day 11: Judged By Its Cover
I absolutely loved the TV show Avatar the Last Airbender and when I saw these Kyoshi books in my local bookstore, I had to get them. Kyoshi has always fascinated me. She's a sapphic badass and I know I'm going to enjoy these books!

It's easy to think "nobody in the whole wide world cares about me" on an empty stomach but try doing it while eating Vegetables and Rice. Seems less convincing now doesn't it? That's simply the power of Vegetables and Rice..

“As you read a book word by word and page by page, you participate in its creation, just as a cellist playing a Bach suite participates, note by note, in the creation, the coming-to-be, the existence, of the music. And, as you read and re-read, the book of course participates in the creation of you, your thoughts and feelings, the size and temper of your soul.”
— Ursula K. Le Guin
