Do you mind explaining the "so much lead in here it probably killed beethoven" joke to a poor dumb anon like me?

of course!! uh i guess it's referencing a couple different things. but basically:

1: kryptonian x-ray vision can see through everything except lead, so kon can tell the candy dish is leaded, because he can't see what's inside

2: however! kon doesn't clock the lead as a red flag, bc it's vintage, and many many dishes pre-1970s were made with leaded glass/lead glaze/lead paint etc.

3: lead also blocks kryptonite radiation, so when the dish is closed kon can't feel the effects of the evil green rocks

4: Ludwig Beethoven famously died of lead poisoning due to the aforementioned leaded dishes he was drinking/eating out of

so the joke is Kon saying this candy dish is so old and lead-y that it was probably something Beethoven ate out of and was poisoned by, when in reality it's full of lead to conceal the evil green radioactive kryptonian trap inside

(Beethoven died pre-victorian era tho, so Kon calling it a victorian dish is breaking immersion i guess. for the nerds who care (me))

aaaand a google search is telling me that new research has come out! now they aren't sure if Beethoven actually died of lead poisoning or if he died of something else. so. APPARENTLY the joke has been rendered nonsense anyway

Ok they don't have to be secret identity (it's just too easy to make it that when they're alternative forms look completely different) but some form of dragon shenanigans? They're dragons now so they get slay powers by default but I wanted to give Scar something a little more, so he gets mechanical wing-like limbs that benefit him more than encumber him due to him having a very strong and sturdy build, and not needing to worry about flight (whereas eg Grian is very lightweight to be able to fly well and is better off without additions)

I REALLY wanted some way to replicate anything close to the Hotguy bow so there you go:

The mechanical limbs have full rotation etc so Scar can fuck around with them however he wishes

Grian can use his feathers as projectiles, comparable to bullets in strength with the speed at which he can hurl them, plus just crazy maneuverability and stuff I guess!!

And what exactly is dragon magic? Plot convenience that's what

Noel worries constantly that he's not a "great" guitarist, that he can't play all fiddley John Squiresque lines. But he doesn't need to. You see, Noel plays parts that make a record, that make music. Like on "Hello": before he got his hands on it, the track was fairly boring, but with two guitar overdubs he transformed it. The storming wah-wah part brought the track to life, then the single glam parts added harmony and depth. This sort of inspiration happened throughout the recording. The freakiest thing was that unlike most guitarists who rely on "capturing the moment" and getting "in the vibe", Noel can just turn it on, stone-cold sober in the middle of the afternoon. He doesn't need to get off his head and wait for the magic to happen. He just does it. He can turn it on. It comes seemingly without him trying too hard. I'm reminded of something Neil Tenant said -- yes, piss off Noel, I know you'll laugh -- something about the hardest thing to do is make it appear effortless. That's Noel.
