NCR keeps drafting such fresh kids and sending them here. Times have changed. Raul: Nah, it hasn't changed much, just, means she really was a kid when it happened. At least in some ways, still, I don't think there's any age at which betrayal by family is any easier. Boone: No I don't suppose so... The soldier in Xa probably tried to justify it as necessary to save more lives. Bury her doubts deep in the chain of command. Just, takes one last push to put her over the edge and realize that they're full of shit.

It is interesting how fandom understands that Rose influenced the Doctor to heal after the Time War and that she changed him for the better, but when it comes to how Rose shouldered the trauma of a veteran who came out of an incomprehensibly horrific war and how the first place that veteran takes her is to see her own planet get destroyed and how later she stands between that veteran holding a gun and a Dalek (she even has dialogue explicitly pointing out that the Doctor is the one who is pointing a gun at her), nobody in the fandom thinks about how any of that would have influenced and changed Rose.

It’s all why is s2 Rose different from s1 Rose? instead. And I think there’s an answer for why she’s different right in front of you.

personally would really enjoy a dr who episode where the whirlwind single-episode romance (a la the girl in the fireplace) is between the companion and a historical figure instead of the doctor. And while the short-lived love story should be beautiful in its own right I think there should also be a moment of realization at the inevitable tragic end where the companion is like oh this is what love is like for you all the time.

I need you guys to understand just how hot Rose was in New Earth. Ten's FIRST episode that wasn't a special but she absolutely stole the show. She left not a single crumb. And don't get me STARTED on her kiss with Ten. That was EVERYTHING. I know that technically that was Cassandra, but we don't have to talk about that. This is in my top three episodes so far because of literally everything. Rose was SO attractive here and honestly if I watched Doctor Who when I was younger and saw Rose in this episode, she would've been my queer awakening 100%. I don't understand how ANYONE could look at her and not be like "wow, women are so incredible"

What I love about Veilguard is they actually show thr companions being there with you on a big mission or you know, they act as a team in general. They talk, argue, chat, mingle??
