A dynamic that isn’t talked about enough in the Undertale au community is error and swap.

The dynamic of a silly sweet little guy, and a world destroying maniac who’s also a man baby, should be studied by scientists nationally .

I mean, it’s already cannon (at least in error’s Ask Comic) that they get on somewhat well, so I’m surprised that the only time I’ve personally seen them interact in a fancomic is the Christmas Party AU, but that’s not even a fancomic because it was made by Error’s creator.

They share hobbies, (knitting and crocheting), they both just want friends and there’s the additional humour of swap being constantly terrified of accidentally breaking error; though I would presume that he would get more comfortable as time goes on.

It would also be extra funny to see Swap try and hide this friendship from his papyrus, because it’s also cannon that paps really isn’t a fan of error. Couldn’t imagine why.

One situation I thought up during a maths lesson today was swap inviting error over for a hangout at his house, but then papyrus hears his sans talking to someone, so he goes to investigate. Swap panics, and either throws a blanket over his head, or promptly uses blue magic to propel error out a window. Both end in hilarity.

But I have to admit: I don't know anything about the fandom you post. You just randomly popped in my feed and I started following. But now I am curious what's all the game is about? (it's from a game right??? ^^’) Who are they and where can/should I begin?

Motti had a upbringing that made her a bit apprehensive to germs, but I wouldn't say it's a full blown phobia. She just doesn't want clothes that have been touched by shared public spaces and then having those clothes touch where she sits or sleeps at home.

And oof... okay so everything I have dabble in currently is all alternative universes of the game Undertale. It can be quite daunting, and there is so many to be honest it's hard to keep track. But the most known ones which would be a good start is Underfell, Underswap, Horrortale, and Dusttale.

The boys that I like to focus on are the alternate versions of Sans along with his brother, Papyrus, but everyone takes their own spin of these characters and AUs. It's a very creative community! ^^

Hi guys! It's been a while since I've shared digital art on my account. I've been busy resolving some personal issues. Recently, I've been working on an exciting project for the Undertale community. Basically, this project involves rewriting the history of the Dusttale AU. Many of you know this AU because of its designs and because it was one of the first to be published in the community. I want to make it clear that I am not trying to claim authorship of the AU, as it belongs to the entire AU community. However, I want to offer my own version of this AU. After researching various internet forums, the official Undertale AUs wiki, and several videos posted by the AU community, I've noticed that Dusttale has some inconsistencies in its plot, such as why Sans gets determination and why he doesn't see affected as in the original plot of the universe. I've also noticed a lack of depth in the characters, especially Sans. My goal is to address these issues by rewriting much of the story, but without altering the designs already established by the community (As you can see in the promotional art I'm sharing). I'm still working on adapting the script into a comic and hope to release the first chapter in the coming months. See you soon, guys! Take care! ;)

HELLO I am very excited for this project! I wanted to express a concern though…it’s rather hard to find the any info on the project aside from what’s on the blog (which isn’t…very much information wise) I’m not sure if that’s an intentional decision…

I know when I first found the info I….kind of didn’t believe this?? That sounds odd. I suppose what I mean is, it didn’t seem the most legit. I did digging through the blog, read all the links, searched for a Twitter and YouTube accounts and had a hard time doing that as well…Simply because there is very little information on it. Which there’s nothing wrong with…I was wanting to suggest (as an outsider) that you and your team put more announcements/ marketing into this…?

I REALLY hope to see this project grow, it’s absolutely deserved, and very few people seem to know about it. I’d hate that to be something people miss out on. I don’t really expect an answer on this but I thought I should share the concern as an outside perspective. 💛

I really hope this project is going well for you and that it gets the deserved recognition as it’s coming out!!! So excited!!!

I'm so happy that people share the same excitement and concern for the series. Also, the fact that you guys think it's worthy of success Is truly inspiring! I think it's time I SAY something though about my current situation.

TL;DR - Our team basically went inactive after the summer; everyone returned to their lives and I'm the only one who can keep up with the project unconditionally. I didn't mean to dishearten you guys! It's a pain in the ass to work alone - excluding voice actors and SFX producers. The OUTBREAK blog will change entirely, it will be used for info and marketing. This blog will just be general art created by me (&no-namestuff). I will continue to work on the series independently, but I'll definitely give out more info as requested and make things more legit whenever I can!

Over the summer, a group of us began working on the project together, but as most of my friends returned to school and their regular lives, it became almost impossible to keep going. Currently, only a few are available to help, but they're too busy.

I didn't want to worry anyone by saying that it's basically just me working on the project; it's tough to balance animating, scripting, marketing, planning, publishing, AND funding by myself. Over time it (advertising and insightful communication) just became indifferent to me, I even considered going silent for a while until I had a mother-load of progress, but that's really not fair.

The project was a bit of a mess when we started. We didn't plan on making it a big deal, my animations were half-assed and incomprehensible; I barely knew how to work Adobe and could barely even pay it off, the sound was going to be recorded via iPhone, the script wasn't even halfway done, and voice actors weren't thought of until the Prologue. After more than six months of work, Verse 1-4 (or 6?) was deleted because of issues with the file.. this really drew the line for everyone.

So here I am, despite everything; I revised the script, which is barely halfway done, redesigned the characters, read more into the multiversal conundrums of AUs and UNDERTALE, built a portfolio, studied poses for the action scenes — and there’s still a lot that I have to learn. I'm working on Q&As, asks, and the teaser / test / project animations. I don't want people to be confused or hesitant, so I appreciate you a lot for reminding me of this. As requested, I will provide additional details about the project too :) !

No-Name's theme is in progress (thanks to Synth Mints), I've invested heavily in software for good quality animations, talented voice actors from this fandom (some you might even know) have agreed to voice for me - I'm extremely grateful for their help. Even if it takes years to release an episode or pilot, I'm still excited about the outcome. Who knows, I might even have a genuine team by then! :D

aw geez sorry for the whole bit-life story, I'm just trying to shed some light on the situation for you all. I do care, I want everyone to know that, it's just hard work.

Undertale ghosts are not obsessed over enough

Ok, random idea, I'm going to ramble a lot, but what if Undertale ghost monsters could possess living things?

I'm nicely blaming @eriscary for this idea because of Tear being a Sans plush possessed by Napstablook. It made me think about what other objects ghosts could possess, and why not something living?

Seriously, what with all of the AUs and stuff where Chara's ghost takes over Frisk, if human ghosts are allowed to do it, why not ghost monsters? And what would be the rules? Would the host and ghost share control? Would the ghost be able to communicate with the host? Would the ghost be able to leave whenever they wanted or would they be stuck because of some sort of thing going on? It's gotta be different than just possessing an object, right?

I think it would be easiest for ghosts to possess living things without souls (say, plants and stuff like that, brings up some questions about Flowey) and it would be hardest for them to possess other monsters. They'd be able to possess humans easier than monsters because a monster soul and a human soul can combine together (it would basically be an opposites attract, magnet type compatibility which is why monsters are hard to possess.) Actually, maybe it would be nigh impossible for a ghost monster to possess a fellow monster unless they were a willing host.

Plus, what would happen when a ghost monster became permanently bound to their living host? I mean, I think that the host would need to agree in some capacity, but if a ghost got emotional enough that that happened even without the host's consent, ohh boy. (And what if that binding happens to someone who has the power either to RESET or remember resets? What sort of paradoxical nonsense could we get into with that?)

Also, what about the damage rules? You can't hurt a ghost with physical attacks unless they're bound to a body, but if that body is something living, the host is definitely going to get that damage. What are the pain rules for ghosts anyway? And what about magic attacks? Seriously, Undertale ghosts are not obsessed over enough!

One more thing- what other ghosts and characters do you guys think would be the most fun to combine, why/how would they combine, how would that affect the story in the Underground? Seriously, give me ideas, I want to make comics!

Can I just say that I love how unique the Undertale fandom is? This ramble is gonna be mostly about the UTAU community, but the Undertale fandom ITSELF is so so SO creative! I just wanna express my absolute adoration of it. Oh my goodness, from way back in 2018 from the first time I got into Undertale all the way to now, I've been watching the fandom grow and expand and explore. It's been such a journey, and while it's had it's ups and downs, I would change nothing. This is such a great fandom when it comes to being creative, and I love it! Has anyone ever noticed that the majority of the time (or at least more recently that I've seen), it's not even an alternative of Sans, but more of an OC at this point? Dude, I've seen so many Undertale AU's where, sure, the premise is the same and the characters are similar, but everything is so unique and special in its own way. And in some AUs, it relates little-to-none to Classic! It's just- so crazy how far we've come from the "What if it was Edgy?/What if it was Soft? What if it was [whatever else]?" and we've started taking more and more creative turns. How we've basically created whole words based around a single "Hey this inspired me!" moment. Some of us create so much in so little time, some of us create only something small in a big chunk of time, but all the same *we are creating!* I find it so fantastic that we all bond and share the absolute insanity that is being an artist or writers.

I am super nervous to post this HI!!

I've been ruminating on this idea of the "Deltarune Webring" for WAY too long and I finally finished setting one up!

I've been absolutely enamoured with the fansite scene of this community, but I was surprised to see that there weren't any UT/DR-themed webrings anywhere! (The reason likely being that Webrings are a bit old-fashioned, bUT THAT'S BESIDES THE POINT! There's not even an Undertale one??)

Anyways, I'm officially launching the ring, there's only one person in it right now (Me!) but I'm hoping to be able to have the wonderfully creative people of this community joining in and share all the love we have for this game!

Not gonna lie, we need more GOOD UNDERTALE AU outcodes... ya' know, the guys who go around the multiverse doing stuff with their own specific goals

I mean, we definitely have them, but it's sad that the last "Big" outcode to ever reach a greater audience was this sad mistake of an Error clone.

I mean, I'd highly suggest looking into stuff like Stitchau, Poppy's story, the ALIVE AU and No!sansverse (which is basically a take on the sansverse that de-sansifies the OUTCODE sanses, this sad sack of rooftop swordsman brainrot included), but it's unfortunate this guy gets more publicity than these three... we need more input from the community.

I don't want to insult or spread hate about undertale outcodes, AUs, or what have you; a lot of them were made by people who were genuinely trying to do something interesting- and unfortunately, everyone's favourite character at the time (and still the majority of the fandom's, probably) was Sans, so he always got the most attention. I can't complain a lot about that, considering I myself am also incredibly guilty of favouritism.

What I think is that a lot of what people were doing could be better expressed and made more interesting if different characters were used, and it didn't become a confusing mess of "Wait. Who's from where??" for me, personally. My brain is very small and can only handle so much.

But, along those lines, I'll share my thoughts that went into Ink!Chara and Ink!Asriel, to try and better make a point- the void, or anti-void, whatever it may be, is a neat concept, but I never really understood it myself- so I kind of made my own interpretation of it with my minimal knowledge.

The whole thing behind these two was that it's stated in-game that no one knows what would happen if a human and monster soul fused- so for all we know, the fusion could be incredibly unstable. Perhaps game-breaking. And along the lines of not knowing what would happen, it's even less known what would happen upon defeat- considering that a monster soul cannot persist for long after death (provided said monster is a boss monster), and a human's can persist for God knows how long.

What if this contradiction led to a huge bug in the already unstable game, and in order to save itself from a crash, the game just. Completely drops the souls? Shoves them out of the way to get everything working again once they were no longer active. We know for a fact that both Chara and Asriel (now Flowey's) souls are seemingly gone, so why not do something with that?

Ink!Chara and Ink!Asriel are separate entities from basegame Chara and Flowey, in that they are their souls and only their souls. My point is.

There are so many ways to make these outcodes more interesting (at least to me) just by using different characters and throwing things at the wall. Once again, nothing against the originals; without them I wouldn't even be having these ideas.
