I've learned recently through much pain and introspection that self-love doesn't have to involve denying or metering that love out to others.
I was always taught to consider others before myself, to be selfless and giving. That there is a finite amount of love within me, that I must budget it, and to direct it inward is a narcissistic and selfish waste. I was taught that god's plan for me was to flay myself at the feet of the less fortunate.
I now feel that this methodology is more toxic, shameful and counterproductive than anything else.
I want to focus on myself and become a model of healing for others who struggle. I want to love myself through my care for others. I want to care for others because I am able to take care for myself.
I want to shower myself in so much love that it spills over into the cup of everyone around me.

Tonight has been a great Saturday night and I wanna spread the happy cozy vibes!!
I got new friends today!⤵️
Tumblr media
Here they all are, revealed!⤵️
Tumblr media
My husband pointed out that the cats look like the autism creature and now I cant unsee it-⤵️
Tumblr media
Then when we got home I decided to take a bath, something I rarely do, to calm down!
After a year or so, this little duckling I had won from a small crane game finally went into its habitat of bath tub:⤵️
Tumblr media
AND DIDN'T EVEN FLOAT-⤵️
Tumblr media
But it was fun regardless, and after I got clean, my husband(/caregiver? He didn't specifically act like a caring figure besides a husband but he still helps take care of me and is a sweetheart) made delish food for both of us! He surprised me with sides!⤵️
Tumblr media
Then after dinner, we changed our bedding out for clean bedding, and I took a picture of all my (most bed-top-able) plushies! (Forgot like...2 tiny ones but its ok)⤵️
Tumblr media
Bonus: cat surrounded by plushies:⤵️
Tumblr media
And now, after a long productive day, a nice bath, a good meal, and a fresh bed, my sleeping spot is ready and I have everything I need at my side when I sleep~🌟⤵️
Tumblr media
Now, I wish everyone a cozy night/productive day/lazy comfort day/whatever you want really! Just want to wish you happy vibes and a nice atmosphere! May you get the positivity and comfort you need to stay happy and healthy, everyone!👋
No dni banner yet but sfw interactions only please.

I absolutely LOVE that you're doing this. My own comfort plushie is actually a ty beanie baby (though a Very Old Version haha ^^;) which makes things a lot easier to find. I wanna get Brownie a matching friend some day... I've had some leads at least, but I can't imagine how rough it must be finding the people who made your BoHuggy boi!! I really hope you find him someday!!
For years I have been trying to find and contact the people who originally made Bohug and friends. I may have finally made some progress today! Here is the journey:
Bohug, the bear from the “My Best Friend” thermal plush line, was made by the Prestige Toy Corp. and distributed by Carter’s in the mid to late 90’s. I received Bohug when I was born in 1999. I started by contacting Carter’s, who only have information about items 2 years old or younger. Dead end Number 1.
Looking up “Prestige Toy Corp.” gets us eBay listings for toys they made, various pages with mismatched addresses, and a page on the Giggle Guide with a dead phone number. Dead end Number 2.
Finally, I found an article on a blog specifically all about toys that said that Rashti and Rashti acquired Prestige Toy Corp. in 2015, and they actually have an active site and phone number!!! I called said phone number and explained my situation and inquiries, and even the person on the other line said it looked like there is little to no record of the company. They will get back to me by the end of the day with any new findings.
Not only do I want to get in contact with them to discuss image and likeness rights, but just to thank them for making My Best Friend. My life has always had Bohug in it, and for that I wish to extend my gratitude to the people who made him. The ultimate dream is to meet the person or the team that designed him. To speak with the people who made the one thing that has been a constant in my entire life. I hope, and even pray in the rare occasion, that the stars align for that to happen!
Thank you for reading this far! If I get any updates I will let you all know.

all your stuffed animals love you. they're not sad if they're in a box, or on the floor, or not held/played with as much. they understand. they know that you might need another stuffie more, or that you don't have enough space. they're just happy to be with you, and if you ever give them away, they'll be happy there too. stuffies are for comfort. they understand. they love you too. it's okay.

Mine was actually a bear my oldest sister gave me before moving half a country away and disappearing from my life.
Oldest had a like $3 baby doll -- the bean bag body with plastic lips and head kind. The boy did not let it go for 48 hours straight upon acquisition and it was a constant companion until his younger (spirit twin) was born when he had a real baby to focus on, and I learned that co dependency can be innate.
Boy Thing had a pink stuffed dog named Chalie that was much loved, which was slightly surprising in that he was no one for comfort. (Sounds weird but @invidtrooper can attest, as a young one he was heavy into his independence and well disguised people pleasing.)
Tre went for the fuzzy blankets -- we had three identical in texture. Pattern did not matter.
Honestly I don't remember Iv having a comfort object. By that time, Boy Thing WAS the comfort object, for all his brothers, which continues to this day.)
How many people’s most beloved childhood stuffed animals are actually teddy bears, like I feel like that’s a thing someone made up. Reblog this and put what your longest owned and/or favorite stuffed animal as a child was in the tags, inquiring minds want to know

On autonomy, and what it means to be Obliged to Help.

#a homestuck walks into an antechamber and asks#hey is anybody going to make this dynamic wholly deterministic and thus dubiously consensual by its very nature#ANYWAY bigger ramble below. scroll down like usual#isat spoilers#isat#isat fanart#isat siffrin#isat loop#sifloop#THATS RIGHT WE'RE STILL SHIP TAGGING IT BABYYYY#in stars and time#in stars and time fanart#lucabyteart#RAMBLE START: anyway i think loop is wrong here. they have it backwards. as-- in my opinion--#the main reason they could be called back into existence postcanon is because *their* wish for help is still not complete#they still need help. siffrin still needs help. neither of them will ever stop needing help.#they will thus uphold the wish until the end of siffrin's natural lifespan.#that said. what does it mean that loop can be so wholly forced to abide by siffrin's wants?#(assuming the dagger cutscene posession is them being forced to uphold the 'help siffrin' wish via harsh universe logic)#[as opposed to something capricious and cruel the change god did. which feels out of character for the change god to me?]#much like how the island wish and duplicate objects are neutered by simply sliding off people's brains...#is loop subtly ushered toward their wish? obviously it's not a full override (see: the bossfight). but is there any interference?#and if so. so what? does it matter? if they don't notice? is it even real if they don't notice?#and even if they do notice. the universe leads we follow. how much do either of them value their free will in a belief system like that?#the whole game is dedicated to siffrin habitually NOT excersizing his free will. doing things the same Every Time.#Loop ESPECIALLY does this. predetermined predetermined predetermined even in the FACE OF CHANGE. REFUSING. ANY CHOICE.#Maybe they'd even be comforted by having a universe-ordained purpose even if it is subservient. even if its to Him.#(though. i can't see siffrin enjoying the idea that someone is subservient TO them... then all their suffering is his fault...)#loop got into this mess via WANTING too much. no more free will. can't be trusted with it. take it away from them.#but yeah. gets my greasy detective pony hands all over this. and everyone please do remember i like to make characters Outright Wrong A Lot

Is it like...valid to age regress even if there's no like...therapeutic or coping reason? It's just...let's just say that I absolutely feel the relaxing, carefree, and comfortable effects of it-
I'm not one to do it often or too strongly, mostly just cuddling with a plush and giving it more personality, talking to it, and imagining a caring parental figure around helps me sleep as well. But gosh does it feel like a huge relief to feel...safer and warmer.
Anyway, in speaking of SFW agere, I thought I'd introduce my main cuddle buddies in a post regardless of whether or not I have before! Let's throw a little childish whimsy into a post~
Efanin
Tumblr media
Ebba Hugeez Elephant
Perfect for all ages, especially true due to the eyes being sewn on instead of glass. Long arms for hugs and hand holding.
She's a lovely dear, and also protective. She can even take down a gator, but there's one nearby that she'd never dare fight with!
Boba
Tumblr media
Aurora Snoozles Alligator
Good size and great for warmth. Weight in the ends of the limbs.
He's a sweetheart that's a favorite to snuggle with when it's cold in the room! Would never bite nor bellow too loud. Very respecting.
Mug
Tumblr media
RMS International stuffed toucan
Cheaper than the others but a good shape where the beak makes for good head support.
This dapper fellow used to have occasional rough feathers I had to pluck, but ever since I got all I could find, he's been much more comfortable to hold and he ensures that I have better spine alignment when I sleep...that beak is handy.
Literally any Squishmallow around this size:
Tumblr media
Kellytoy Squishmallows, 7-8 inches(?)
My current favorites to cuddle are Deggo the blue dinosaur and Roe the purple stingray!
This particular size of squishmallow is perfect for me and my arms and can of course differ depending on the person. 7 and 8 inches may be my preferred as there is enough to hold and 12 inch is too uncomfortable for my arms.
Though different sized stuffed animals for cuddling fit different folks, I've decided on my favorite sizes, and I have a good armful of them!
Anyway, these are all of my personal cuddle candidates! And no matter if you regress or not, who are stuffed animals NOT perfect for??

hi reminder that there’s no shame in needing a comfort object to function!
i’m a full adult and still have meltdowns when i’m separated from my plushies for even a few minutes. i never go places without them. i cannot exist without them.
it’s not a flaw in my being! it’s just my autism! needing a comfort object doesn’t make you lesser. it doesn’t make you weak or childish or a failure. i wish courage to anyone who needs it to bring your comfort items with you wherever they can help!

I'm not the source of this reading, and I don't remember who is, but I absolutely buy the idea that the petrified orange has the same heartfelt resonance for Stede that the red silk had for Ed. Stede sees that object both as a record of a very good day in St. Augustine and as an embodiment of his hopes for a future with the man who helped him find it. (I mean, when he is in Barbados and thinks he might try to stay, he sets it at the other end of the table and addresses it as if it were Ed.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I'm Not Okay, Okay?
Thinking about Stede and the petrified orange treasure he's so proud of finding.
Thinking about Stede being awakened by Chauncey and marched into the woods, in only his nightshirt (it must have a pocket).
Thinking about Stede even having the orange to show off to his family later.
Conclusion: Stede Bonnet sleeps with the orange. The orange is his woobie. He takes it everywhere. Sometimes he takes it out to look at it. Sometimes he just reaches into his pocket to pet the orange. Every time, I die a little.

Thank you for coming to my TED talk.
