fic status report, since it’s been ages since I did this and it makes me feel like progress to see it laid out and talked out:

runaways au @ 7582 words: working on this to try and make it still work with dreamer trilogy, but basically, declan takes ronan on the run when they are young, and adam moves into monmouth instead. probably about 3k left? maybe 5k, depending on the scenes

pushing bluesey @ 6001 words: it’s pushing daisies au, but with blue as ned, gansey as chuck, adam as emerson, and ronan as both the aunts. still canonical trc powers to a degree (dreaming, psychics, battery, ghost!noah, etc.). still another 4k minimum on this baby

sick chicken @ 633 words: newest, but prob a short one. basically, adam and declan being stubborn idiots while ronan and jordan are away. probably the first to be posted after the last chapter of the assassins au is up

genie reincarnation @ 7369 words: this one keeps tempting me to be longer, but I have the scenes mapped out to where I want them, I just need a little more of the romance b-plot in there. prob another 3-4k to write

big bang pov switch @ 5395 words: this is the switched pov of my big bang (waiter!Nicky) with Joe’s POV, so it’s not going to be big bang length. it just hasn’t been getting focus. another 2-3k and it’ll be ready, though!

outlander time traveller’s wife old guard @ 6163 words: ...look, if I finish this fic in two years, I’ll be happy. it’s plotted. it’s mapped, it’s just so goddamn sprawling, I expect it to be 25-30k when it’s done, at minimum, and that’s scaring me, so it’s been backburnered

What’s up with how the dunmeshi fandom just lies about this kind of stuff all the time. It is easily confirmable information that it was a monthly series, something incredibly common in the industry.

A not weekly magazine schedule is literally common !! Especially in the seinen shoujo and josei demographics, sometimes monthly, sometimes biweekly, sometimes every two months, sometimes seasonal! Please stop lying about how Dunmeshi was some special unique creation that defies all standards of manga just to hype it up because it is so clear that every single one of these comparisons is centered around Weekly Shonen Jump (and understand that SJ has many magazines under its brand that are monthly or semimonthly). Not everything is WSJ and it needs to stop being the only point of reference in conversations like this 🤧

As we now know, Tumblr is $30 million dollars in debt. Oops. Tumblr has announced some major (and unpopular) changes to the site in their attempt to get back above water. The alternative is that Tumblr ceases to exist. But maybe we can change that...

How:

There are 327 million unique tumblr visits per month, and almost 500 million active accounts. If 10 million unique users (or less, if we bought more than one) bought or gifted Crabs from the Tumblr store, we could knock out Tumblr's debt easily. Buy crabs!

When:

something something katsuki can't keep his hands off you when he's had a little too much to drink (see: denks the worst at-home bartender in the world, believes a shot of vodka really means four).

it starts off innocently enough, gathered in eijiro's living room, when he cracks a foul-mouthed joke and you double over into side with laughter. the heat starts to creep up his neck, but it's easy to blame it on the alcohol. he nudges you back playfully, a grin quirking at the corner of his lips.

two more shots of whatever vile concoction denki mixed up and he's melting into the couch. he's sitting on one end, a little squished with how mina, eijiro, hanta, and denki are piled on top of each other - chatting away, drinking, and desperately trying not to make eye contact with the wasted blond. katsuki's got you perched all pretty in his lap because "there isn't any room left to sit." a convenient excuse.

you're flushed and trying to keep up with mina's story and you're having a great time with your friends but katsuki's hands are looping casually around your waist and pulling you closer to him and he's leaning a little on you for support and you feel a zing speed down your spine as his lips brush against your arm. an accident.

his head's a little fuzzy, but katsuki's practically melting with the alcohol swimming through his veins. and you're so soft it's making everything even fuzzier. before he even finishes that thought he's testing out the plush of your waist, your thighs, pinching a little at the small of your back, and back down to your thighs. you squirm in his hold, and he retaliates with a soft grunt and by biting what he could reach.

the spit on your arm is more uncomfortable than the rather tame bite he gives you. you can see his eyes wobble, flitting to different parts of your face. "hol' s'till," he garbles and your heart leaps into your throat. you can feel four sets of eyes boring into you both, but you can't break away from katsuki's heavy, lidded, lovesick gaze.

Thinking about DP x DC Jason Todd being a revenant again. Here's my scenario. Jason gets called that by some ghost. He's like "what the fuck is that supposed to mean?" He's heard the term before but he doesn't know any actual lore. He googles it. He scrolls past the Leonardo DiCaprio bear movie. He opens the wiki. Sees the words "animated corpse" and gets a chill diwn his spine. He starts reading the first section.

He closes Wikipedia.

That night he has a nightmare that his family buried him, again, this time with precautions. He wakes up in his own grave, full of stones, too heavy to move, to scream.
