can’t keep doing this ~ machine gun kelly
word count: 1668
request?: yes!
“Hi! I love your writing and you just seem like such a sweet, genuine person. ☺️ Can I request Colson x reader and they’ve broken up but they keep meeting up and hooking up with some smut and maybe some fluff at the end?”
description: in which they broke up a while ago but kept hooking up afterwards, and now she’s ready to end things for good
pairing: machine gun kelly x female!reader
warnings: swearing, two paragraphs of smut, angst, fluff ending
masterlist (one, two, three)
Tumblr media
You and Colson had broken up almost a year ago. It wasn’t a bad breakup. You both had different ideas of what you wanted from your futures and realized it was best if you ended your relationship and perused the futures you wanted.
The thing is, you broke up, but you were still hooking up.
It started as a drunken mistake. You were both out at the same club and ran into each other after a couple of drinks. Next thing you knew, he had you against the wall outside of the club with one hand up your shirt while yours was cupping the front of his pants. The next morning, you were surprised to find yourself waking up in his bed. You both agreed it was the last time it would happen.
And you were both horribly wrong.
It became a regular thing for one of you to text the other looking for a quick fuck, but that’s all it would be. There was no staying the night, no cuddling, nothing romantic. You had to constantly remind one another that you weren’t getting back together before, during, and after.
You had no issue with it at first. You viewed it as just a way to get over the breakup without hooking up with randos you met at clubs. You didn’t expect it to last as long as it did. But once the months came and went, and you realized that this was starting to become less of a hook up thing for you, you realized it had to come to an end. It would be better for the both of you to finally move on.
That was the plan when you texted Colson, asking him if you could come over. You were just going to put an end to everything. Tell him you had to stop and finally go your separate ways.
But then he opened the door, just in a pair of grey sweatpants and looking at you as if he were a dehydrated man and you were the first water he had seen in a long time. And you were such a sucker for both of those things.
That’s how you found yourself face first into Colson’s bedsheets; face down, ass up, with Colson’s dick abusing your g-spot with every rough thrust. Your moans were muffled by the sheets between your teeth. His fingers were digging into your hips, guiding you back to meet his thrusts. You yelped at the sudden sting of the palm of his hand meeting your ass cheek. You could already picture the perfect handprint you’d see there later.
You cried out as Colson’s fingers met your clit, rubbing quick circles in the bundles of nerves. His thrusts were becoming sloppy, telling you he was trying to coax one last orgasm from you before he reached his own. It didn’t take him long to get it. It came rushing from you before you could realize, a scream ripping from your throat as your whole body went warm and your walls contracted around him. His dick twitched inside you before he reached his own high, spilling inside of you.
Your body, sore and used, slowly fell to the bed. Colson slipped from you as you fell, hissing at the over sensitivity. You took a while to regain yourself. As you did, Colson got up from the bed and returned with cloths to clean the two of you up. You rolled onto your back and took the cloth from him. You wiped yourself and sat up. You discarded the cloth onto the floor with Colson’s other dirty laundry and started reaching for your clothes.
“What are you doing?” Colson asked.
“Leaving?” you responded, confused by his question.
“You don’t have to,” he said.
“That’s usually how this works, Colson.”
“Well, yeah, but that’s not how it always has to be. We can change, you know. You could...hang out for a while or something, I don’t know.”
“We can’t keep doing this,” you cut him off. “This is the last time. That’s why I asked to come see you.”
You could’ve swore you saw a look of hurt in his eyes, but you were sure you had imagined it.
“Why?” he asked. “We have a good thing going on.”
“Had,” you corrected. “We had a good thing, Colson, but then we broke up. We said we were going our separate ways because we wanted different things. That’s how it should’ve ended. These last few months never should’ve happened.”
“Then why are you saying this now? Why didn’t you say anything months ago when we started fucking?”
“Because I’m seeing someone now!”
That rendered Colson speechless. He just looked at you as you continued to put on your clothes. You couldn’t meet his eye now.
“That’s why I came over,” you continued. “One last go, then we’re done. We have to move on, Colson. I told you, I want to settle down, to find someone who wants marriage and kids. You don’t want that. So, that’s it. We move on. We stop playing with each other’s emotions like this.”
You grabbed your purse that had been discarded to the floor the minute you stepped in the room. You started for the door, but paused. You looked back at Colson one last time. He was still looking ahead, face blank.
“Who is it?” he asked.
“Some guy from a dating app,” you responded.
“And that’s what you want? Some guy from a dating app?”
Instead of answering, you said, “Goodbye Colson”, and finally walked out of his life, for good this time.
~~~~~~
That night, you were watching TV at home with delivery pizza and a bottle of wine. For the most part, you had managed to forget everything with Colson. You had blocked his number and all his social media when you got home, which was the last bits to fully remove him from your life. Then you cracked open a bottle of wine, ordered some pizza, and turned on mind numbing reality TV to cleanse your brain.
You were two glasses deep when someone rang your doorbell. You weren’t expecting anyone, and the pizza had already come. A series of knocks shortly after the doorbell rang spurred you to get up and see who was at your door.
To your surprise, you swung the door open and there was Colson.
Before you could ask him what he was doing, he brushed past you to walk into your house.
“I didn’t invite you in,” you pointed out.
“I don’t accept what you said today,” he said, ignoring your comment. “I don’t want to end things between us.”
“Colson,” you tried again.
“I don’t just mean the sex stuff,” he continued. “Listen, I was a goddamn idiot to let you get away. I didn’t think I was ready to settle down. My job, it made settling down seem impossible. I travel all the time, I’m rarely ever home. That’s not the ideal married life, and I know that.”
“Colson - ”
“But I realized that I can’t imagine my life without you. After that first hookup, I did mean it when I said it wouldn’t happen again. I was ready to let it all go, to let you go. But then I was home alone and I realized how empty my house feels without you. And I started thinking about how I can’t see my future without you being in it. I’m an idiot for not bringing it up, but I thought the hooking up was the only thing that would keep you around, and I was willing to do it until you wanted to stop. I know I’m too late and you have someone else, but I can’t - ”
“Jesus Christ, Colson, there isn’t anyone else!”
That was enough to finally shut him up. He stopped pacing, which he had started doing the second he had opened his mouth, and turned to face you. You crossed your arms, waiting for him to say something.
“What?” he finally asked.
You sighed. “I only said that so that you’d let me go. But I haven’t been seeing anyone. I’m not even on any dating apps. I just needed to end everything between us because I was gaining feelings again and I couldn't bare to continue our arrangement of meaningless hookups when I was still so in love with you.”
There was a moment of silence, and then a smile spread across Colson’s face. You couldn’t help but smile back, and then the two of you were laughing. The whole situation was so absurd. If one of you had just communicated what you wanted instead of just continuing to hook up, then you could’ve been back together long ago. But you know what they say about hindsight.
“I really want to kiss you right now,” Colson said.
“Then do it.”
In two long strides, he closed the distance between you two and cupped your face in his hand. He pulled you to him and kissed you as if it was the first time he had ever done so. You leaned into him, holding on to his shirt for dear life. You weren’t sure you’d ever let him go honestly. You just wanted to stay there, holding each other, kissing each other.
“If I had a ring, I’d propose to you right now,” he murmured against your lips.
“If you did, I’d say yes,” you whispered back.
“I’ll take that as a pre-engagement agreement,” he said. “But I promise, I will get you a ring. I’ll do something so special to propose. I’ll give you dozens of babies if that’s what you want.”
“Oh God, that’s the last thing I want,” you laughed. “Give me one baby at least, and then we’ll go from there.”
“Maybe we could start practicing on that now.”
You leaned close to his ear and whispered, “Then take me to the bed.”
You shrieked as Colson lifted you in his arms and gleefully raced towards your bedroom.
Megan Fox Has Allegedly Broken Up With Machine Gun Kelly
Tumblr media
Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly's relationship has been under speculation by their fans recently. The actress, 36, has sparked rumors of a possible split with the "Bad Things" rapper, 32, after she removed all the images of him from her Instagram page. While Fox had previously paid tribute to her partner after the Grammys ceremony, all her posts and traces of the Midnight in the Switchgrass co-star, whose real name is Colson Baker, were deleted from her account over the weekend. Fox has also unfollowed Baker on Instagram. The Transformers actress is now following Eminem, with whom Baker has a complicated history. Although Fox starred in the music video for Eminem and Rihanna's 2010 track "Love the Way You Lie," the rapper and Baker have notoriously criticized each other in their lyrics. Fox's other Instagram followers are Harry Styles and Timotheée Chalamet. Recently, Fox posted a series of photos on her Instagram account, which has raised many eyebrows. The actress is seen posing, both alone and with a male friend, in a revealing black corset top in what appears to be a public bathroom. The last slide in the photo carousel shows a video of an envelope burning in a fire pit, accompanied by a cryptic caption featuring a quote from the opening lyrics of the Beyoncé song "Pray You'll Catch Me," from her Lemonade album. The post left many of Fox's 20 million followers wondering about the true meaning behind the cryptic message. Fans have speculated that Fox may be calling out Baker for infidelity. When one fan suggested that Baker may have cheated on Fox with Sophie, the actress responded with "Maybe I got with Sophie," accompanied by a fire emoji. Emily Ratajkowski, the actress and model, commented on the post, saying "Obsessed with you." As of now, representatives for both Fox and Machine Gun Kelly have not responded to any requests for comment on the status of their relationship. The couple had started dating in May 2020, and Fox had previously been married to Beverly Hills, 90210 alum Brian Austin Green for a decade, with whom she shares three children. Read the full article
I’m Glass
Anon Request:  Mgk and reader's first appearance together publically? Or their first time openly talking about each other in an interview?
Hauntober Prompt: Leaves
A/N: I own the poem in this story. Do NOT take or repost the poem without credit to me.
Tumblr media
It seemed innocent enough...at first. It was supposed to be a voice-over recording for a song, but when Colson got the idea of making a music video instead, the innocence seemed to fade away.
(Y/N) had known Colson since he first moved to Los Angeles. She too was one of the many people who trekked across the country in search of fame of any sorts. She had a talented voice and was a brilliant writer, both with songs and literature, but she didn’t even begin to see the amount of fame the scrawny kid from Cleveland now known as Machine Gun Kelly had acquired over the years.
She found a simple life in LA, befriended photographers, helped open a fairly popular coffee shop, and continued to pursue her dream of writing. She never thought she would see Colson again face to face, but a friend of hers was close to Machine Gun Kelly’s manager, Ashleigh VeVerka. After a poetry reading at the coffee shop (Y/N) co-owned, her friend found a poem left behind at the coffee shop and brought the piece to Ashleigh.
(Y/N) was more than shocked to see the gangly blonde man she’d met so many years ago. Colson’s lips fell into a tight smile as he noticed the woman who was the first person to show him genuine support in his new town. He never forgot her. Even when he was dating model and actresses, (Y/N) was still in his mind--a constant question of ‘what if?’. Seeing her before him, standing there in a metal t-shirt, high-waisted jeans, and Doc Martens, Colson felt as if he was the same person he was when they first met. Suddenly, it felt like she was his truest supporter and the rest of the world had faded into a bleak distant memory.
It didn’t take him long to reconnect with (Y/N), and it took even less time for him to ask her to dinner and on a number of proper dates before he proposed they label their relationship. As their relationship progressed, Colson grew much more comfortable asking (Y/N) for her input with lyrics. One night, after drinking a bottle of wine each, he asked about the poem Ashleigh had received.
“Do you know who wrote it? She said your friend found it at your store after a reading,” Colson tried not to slur his words as drunken curiosity came over him and he pulled a small, pocket-sized piece of notebook with sharp and precise letters inked across the lines. (Y/N)’s eyes scanned the page briefly without even reading the words on the page.
“Th-this is mine, Colson,” she stammered as she sat up from laying against her boyfriend’s chest between his legs.
“No way? You wrote this?!” The wicked grin that spread across his face quickly infected his girlfriend as a crooked smile formed over her face in return.
“Yes? Why?” Her cheeks were red and hot with anxiety and anticipation of his feedback. Even when they met, she kept her works close to her chest, and before this excerpt, Colson hadn’t read a word of anything (Y/N) had written. It was astounding to him how someone as talented as her didn’t find the stroke of luck he had that made him everything he was today.
“I love it! I’ve been holding onto it since Ashleigh gave it to me before I saw you again. It’s that kind of raw, personal shit that resonates,” he slurred as he looked at the woman before him. “Damn, you’re incredible.”
It didn’t take long for Colson to decide he was going to incorporate (Y/N)’s poem into one of his songs, but it took much longer for him to convince her to read the poem aloud as a voice-over recording. She was still a nobody in the world and he was MGK; their relationship was a secret from everyone other than the people closest to them. The world had no idea the bad boy of the rap and punk scene was in a serious, committed relationship with a woman he cherished. He wanted to scream it from the highest rooftops, but (Y/N) knew better than to let the world become involved in their personal lives. She was normal, a private and discreet person who would lose all sense of privacy upon being even remotely connected to a star like Colson. If the press learned she was in a relationship  with a woman who works in a coffee shop, her life would turn upside down, and that wasn’t something Colson wanted to put (Y/N) through.
“Are you sure?” she asked after he explained that the voice recording was turning into a music video.
“It will be amazing! It’s just going to be you and me in the woods. They’re even having a special dress made for you to wear in the video!” The excitement in Colson’s eyes was too much for her to deny him of. She trusted him and knew that he knew what he was doing. (Y/N) would have loved to tell more than four people about the amazing man she’d come to love, but there was a hesitancy in her, a doubt that she never wanted to address but knew she would inevitably have to: would their relationship last through the public scrutiny? He couldn’t hide away for the rest of his life or pretend he was single whenever he was deeply committed tot his amazing person that he was more than blessed to have met let alone fallen in love with.
On the day of the shoot, too many nerves had strung themselves out all throughout (Y/N)’s body. Her neck and shoulders were tight and she tried her hardest to loosen up in front of the camera.With a deep breath, she allowed herself to relax into the curve of Colson’s body as he lay in the grass. A cool breeze tossed a strand of her hair over her shoulder, and the gentle touch of Colson’s fingertips against her cheek helped to put her mind at ease. With a deep breath, (Y/N) rolled onto her back; her head rested on Colson’s shoulder as his arm wrapped around her back. Together, they gazed up at the branches above them. Pale shades of orange, rich yellows, and deep reds hung above them and fluttered in the gentle tossing of the wind. Soft whistles captivated their attention as they watched the leaves dance in the air. Glints and gleams of the sun’s rays had poked through the branches of the trees surrounding them, and both Colson and (Y/N) had forgotten they were being filmed, that their actions and words were being documented and would be publicly accessible in a matter of weeks if not days from now.
“Did you ever think the world could be so peaceful?” Colson’s voice broke through the silence.
“Your world or mine?” (Y/N) asked with a smile curled onto her face.
“This is us. Together. It’s our world,” Colson deep voice firmly stated as he leaned forward and propped himself up on his elbows.
“You’re you. Colson Baker. Machine Gun Kelly.” Her voice was becoming distant as she fixated on how different the pair were. “You’re electricity; vibrant, energetic, lively... me?
I am glass,
Shards of glass
Strung together by an invisible thread of hope,
A hope which I refuse to believe in
Because hope has broken me
Too many times.
Yet I hold on,
Because it allows me
To help piece you back together.
And I think: Will we work?”
Colson’s breath hitched in his throat as (Y/N) effortlessly delivered the words she’d written about him in secret so many years ago. Without hesitation but wit delicate care, Colson leaned over and pressed his lips to (Y/N)’s forehead. With a soft breath escaping his lips, he smiled against her soft skin and said, “Yes, I think we will.” Again, his lips lowered to meet any part of (Y/N) they could find, and this time, they were fortunate enough to graze her mouth.
The pair moved together into the kiss, adjusting their bodies and mouths to best accommodate the other’s body and mouth. The moment they shared together was gentle and passionate and wrapped in desire and intimacy. In that moment, (Y/N) suddenly became aware of the cameras pointed in their direction, but it didn’t seem to matter. She was happy. The answer to her question posed in a poem years ago had come in the form of the man she loved, a brisk fall day, and a kiss she never wanted to end.
Love never dies
Requested by @meganfox19x
A/N: I love doing requests but they always make me nervous that you're not what you're expecting 😅 But let me know what you think!
Warning: swearing, drug abuse, starvation, slight depression talk
Tumblr media
“Dude, you know I would literally stay anywhere else if I could,” you beg your ex, Colson, through the phone. He sighs dramatically.
“Fine but the only reason I’m letting you stay is because of Cameron,” Colson loves using your son against you.
You hang up and finish packing your stuff. If you had time to sit and dwell, you’d probably feel depressed that your entire life fits into one box and a suitcase but you don’t have time. Your landlord made it pretty clear that if you didn’t cover the rent you owed, he’d kick you out. You just never figured he’d follow through on his threat. Having him stand at your front door and listen to you beg your ex for temporary accomodation was embarrassing enough that you’re glad you’ll never see him again.
You can’t help but feel resentment towards Colson and his life. He has this big mansion in the hills, like 6 cars in his garage and a shit tonne of disposable income, whereas you’re working 50 hours a week at a shitty diner, scraping barely enough together for food and clothes for you and Cameron. Colson was a great father and he always made sure Cameron had everything he needed. He paid for his school, extra curricular activities and clothing. But when he was with you, you were sacrificing meals so Cameron wouldn’t go hungry.
You take a deep breath before you knock on the front door, preparing yourself for whatever Colson you’ll get today. It’s 10am so Cameron will be at school for the next few hours and then he has baseball practice. Which means you and Colson will have to spend the next few hours together, alone, and that never ends well. You tap timidly on the door and wait a few moments. The door swings open and you expect to see Colson but instead you’re met by Rook’s kind face.
“Y/N!” Rook exclaims and then his jaw drops as he looks you up and down. “What the fuck happened to you girl?” he gasps, clearly noticing the weight you’ve lost
Practical starvation and working long shifts at the diner have caused you to drop a significant amount of weight. You look down at your skinny jeans that hang off your boney waist and the t-shirt that is practically a dress on your small frame. You were never overly concerned about your weight but you liked to try and make healthy choices, especially with the lifestyle you and Colson lived together before you got pregnant.
“Nothing happened,” you mumble and walk past him nonchalantly. You decide to get your stuff out of the back of your car later, too ashamed for everyone to see what little possessions you have.
As you walk through the entryway and down the hallway into the kitchen, living room and dining room, you can make out music coming from the backyard. You can also hear voices, lots of voices. If Rook is here, it’s safe to assume that all the other guys are here too and probably a few women as well. You know you’re in no mood for pretending to be ok or making small talk with the rest of the guys. You hate being in this house. It depresses you too much to think about everyone and everything you lost when you walked out on Colson.
You thought you were making the right decision 5 years ago. His drinking and drug use had gotten out of control and you thought taking his son away until he got help would be the best way to fix your little family but instead it broke it apart more. Once you walked out, Colson saw that as an abandonment and he treated you like the enemy. He pushed you away harder and fell into his addictions with more purpose, escape.
“I’m going to go lie down for a while,” you tell Rook and before he can say anything, you head upstairs.
Cameron’s room is still in the same place it’s been since you decorated it with Colson while you were pregnant. He was so excited to be having a baby boy. He started planning the nursery after your 20 week scan when you found out the gender. You open the door and the room hasn’t changed much. The walls are still a deep blue, there’s still Cameron’s name in cursive writing on the wall, the big lion rug in the middle of the room. The only thing that has really changed is that he sleeps in a single bed instead of a cot.
You lay down on the bed and it doesn’t take long for you to fall asleep. You can’t remember the last time you had a day off from the diner since you started working there. It felt relaxing to not have to rush to work and spend 10 hours on your feet for shitty tips and creepy customers. For some reason men see a woman in an apron and skirt and immediately think it gives them the right to grab your ass.
You’re not sure how long you’ve been asleep for but when you open your eyes, it’s almost completely dark outside. You sit up in a panic, unfamiliar with your surroundings for a second, then you remember where you are. Your next thought is Cameron and then you remember it’s Colson’s week with him so he would probably be downstairs with his dad and the rest of the guys. You’re about to get up and head downstairs but hushed voices outside the door stops you.
“Bro, something is seriously wrong,” you hear the concern in Rook’s voice.
“What the fuck are you talking about?” Colson scoffs, completely cold and uncaring.
“She looks sick! There’s barely anything of her, she looks exhausted and rundown. I almost didn’t recognise her when I opened the door.”
“I don’t know what because she hasn’t told me anything. Cameron has been asking some shit about when she’s going to come live back here with me but I’ve just had to tell him that his mummy and I are better apart than together. I hate lying to him.”
You hear the handle of the bedroom door rattle and you quickly lie back down and pretend to still be asleep. Light streams in from the hallway and you can hear footsteps retreating down the stairs. You assume that both Rook and Colson have gone back downstairs but you stay still just in case. You feel the bed dip and realise someone is in the room with you. You feel cool, long fingers brush your cheek and you recognise Colson’s touch right away.
“Fuck, Y/N, why didn’t you come back to me? I would do anything for you,” Colson whispers into the darkness.
You feel him get off the bed and hear the door close softly behind him. You lie there for a few more minutes, trying to understand his words. Nothing he’s done has ever shown you that he still loves you. When he drops Cameron off to you, he stands in the stairwell and watches him come inside but doesn’t say anything to you. If he needs to talk to you, he always sends a text. His messages are matter of fact and he never adds any pleasantries. He just says what he needs to and leaves it at that. Is it all an act?
You decide you need to get up and stop hiding from everyone. You’re desperate to see Cameron and explain everything to him. What you’re going to say you haven’t worked out exactly but you need to give him some explanation as to why you’re temporarily living back with Colson. You grab your phone off the bedside table and check the time, 6:00. He’ll be back from practice now and probably eating dinner. The thought of a hot meal makes your stomach grumble. You suddenly can’t remember if you’ve eaten today.
You walk slowly down the stairs and can hear Cameron’s laughter as Rook does his best impression of a southern cowboy. Colson is adding humorous comments every now and again and you can make out the sound of Baze, Slim and Dub playing pool in the living room. You take a deep breath at the bottom of the stairs and plaster the fakest smile you can muster. As you walk into the room, everyone stops what they’re doing to look at you. You hear the faint sound of a strangled gasp from Colson as he sees you in proper lighting and he immediately turns his head away so you can’t see his expression. Baze, Slim and Dub all try their best to hide their shock at your appearance. They each give a little wave and offer warm smiles, even though you can see the panic in their eyes.
“Mummy!” Cameron comes bounding over to you and crashes his body against yours in a bear hug. You wince slightly as his head comes in contact with your ribcage and it hurts way more than it should. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to-” he begins to pull away.
“No, it’s ok baby, you just surprised me,” you wrap your arms around him and cradle him against your body. His face is covered in guacamole and you notice the big bowl of nachos he’s abandoned on the table. You usher him back to his seat and he continues to eat while Rook entertains him. Without even looking at you, Colson places a big bowl of nachos in front of you. You practically scarf down the entire bowl without taking a break. Again, without making eye contact, Colson places a full bowl in front of you. You take your time with this one and make it about halfway through it before you start to feel sick. Your body is not used to digesting this much food in one sitting. You sip on a beer as Cameron tells you all about his day.
Around 7:30, Cameron begins to get tired so Colson takes him upstairs to give him a bath and put him in bed. You come up once he’s in his pyjamas and kiss him goodnight. You sing his bedtime song softly, You are my sunshine, that you’ve been singing to him since he was a few hours old and within minutes he’s completely out. Colson stands at the door and watches but says nothing. You switch off the bedside table lamp and night light glows in the corner of the room. You follow Colson out of the room and close the door softly behind you. Colson says nothing and instead stalks silently to his room, still not able to look at you.
“Colson,” you call after him but he keeps walking.
He closes his bedroom door behind him without a word. You follow him and slam the door open, storming in like a bat out of hell. Colson is sitting on the edge of his bed, his head in his hands.
“Look at me!” you demand but he doesn’t budge. “I said fucking look at me!” you grab his arms and rip them away from his face.
“I can’t!” he half screams half sobs. His eyes are filled with tears, half of them already spilling down his cheeks. “It hurts too fucking much to see what I’ve done to you.”
“What are you talking about?” you’re shocked at his sudden display of emotions.
“Look at you!” he shoves your body in front of the large full length mirror on his wall. “Look at yourself,” he orders and you do.
You see the hollowness in your cheeks, the bags under your eyes, the way your collarbones are more pronounced, the way your jeans hang off your body. You’d never really paid that much attention to how you looked. You knew your clothes weren’t fitting the way they used to, you knew you weren’t eating enough but you at least thought you were hiding it a little better.
“Our son hugs you and you flinch from pain because there’s nothing off you. I did that and I’m so fucking sorry. I should’ve been taking care of you, giving you everything you deserve and more but I just pushed you away because you did the responsible thing and left. I love you so much and it kills me to see you like this. I’m not saying we have to get back together or anything but I want you to stay here, with Cameron and me-”
Before he can continue, you crash your lips to his. Everything you’d been holding onto for the last few years finally broke through and you couldn’t hold back. You had missed this smart, kind, loving man for so long. You’d thought you’d lost everything when in reality Colson thought it was him that had fucked it up. He kisses you back almost immediately, wrapping his arms around your tiny frame. He lifts you so you can wrap your legs around his waist and he holds you against him.
“I love you,” you whisper against his lips.
“I fucking love you,” he whispers back before deepening the kiss.
That night, for the first time in a long time, you had no fear about the day that would follow. You laid in bed, Colson’s long body wrapped around you, cradling you against his chest. You were home and finally, you could breathe again.
Colson always said he wanted another kid. Especially once Casie started to go through her pre-teen years and he found himself wishing she was still a baby again. He and (Y/N) had talked about it so many times, and they had both agreed that they wanted to have a baby together.
So why did he run away when she actually got pregnant?
Colson could still remember it all so vividly: the look of happiness on (Y/N)’s face when she showed him the positive pregnancy test, the heavy feeling in his stomach that turned to panic that rose into his throat, the sound of (Y/N)’s voice as he grabbed some of his things and left without another word. He could remember the sound of his phone constantly chiming as (Y/N) tried to text and call him, until finally he had to put her contact on mute. It didn’t take her long to give up trying to contact him, though.
He didn’t know why he did it. He had been asked by so many people - his boys, his mom, Ash, even Casie herself - but he had no answer. When (Y/N) first told him she wanted to have kids with him, he had been so excited. So where did his sudden panic come from when it actually happened? Why was he suddenly so doubtful over his ability to be a father again?
He couldn’t bring himself to go back. He was embarrassed for the way he reacted, and he thought (Y/N) wouldn’t take him back anyways. Not that he blamed her. How could she take back the man who got her pregnant and then ran out on her? Because of his reluctance and fear of rejection, Colson didn’t see (Y/N) for months. And he would’ve kept it that way if it wasn’t for Casie throwing his car keys at him and forcing him out of the house.
“You have to go see her,” Casie said as she slammed the door in her father’s face and locked it.
“You gave me my keys, Cas, I can get back in,” he pointed out.
She held up the house key that usually hung on Colson’s keyring. “I took it off. You’re not getting back in until you go see (Y/N) and apologize for being stupid.”
“She’s not gonna wanna see me.”
“You don’t know that! She’s carrying your child, and I’d doubt she seriously wants that kid to grow up without a dad.”
Colson didn’t want to admit that he thought (Y/N) probably got rid of the baby the second he walked out on her. “Cas, come on, just let me back in.”
But Casie just crossed her arms and glared at him. After a few minutes, Colson sighed and rolled his eyes. There was no use in trying to get back in unless he did exactly what Casie wanted, so he went to his car and drove the familiar route to get to (Y/N)’s place.
At least I can get the rejection over with quickly and get back into my own house, he thought to himself.
Pulling up to her house, Colson started picturing the night he left again. He wanted nothing more than to turn his car around and go back home, but he knew Casie could tell if he was lying to her. His hands were shaking as he shut his car off and put the keys into his pocket. He was almost hoping that (Y/N) wasn’t home. Maybe if she wasn’t, Casie would drop it and let him back into the house without having to actually deal with the situation.
But her car was in the driveway, so she had to be home.
Colson made his way up to the front door and raised his hand to knock. He hesitated, unable to make his hand move. His brain was still screaming at him to turn around and go home, but he had come this far. He couldn’t just back out now. At the very least, maybe he could give (Y/N) some closure so they could both move on from this, since he knew there was no way that she was going to take him back.
He finally moved his hand to knock. It didn’t take long for him to hear the sound of footsteps coming towards the door, and when the door opened it felt like the floodgates within him had opened.
(Y/N) was stood there, her belly big enough to tell him that she was still carrying his child. She had never looked so beautiful to him before.
Her eyes were wide, almost like a deer caught in headlights. He was the last person she expected to see on her doorstep, and she wasn’t sure if she wanted to slam the door in his face or throw herself into his arms and beg for him to never let her go again.
“Hey,” Colson finally said. “Uh...I’m sorry to surprise you like this. I probably should’ve called first or something.”
“You wouldn’t have gotten through. I blocked your number,” she told him.
Ouch, he thought. I deserve that, though.
“What are you doing here?” she asked. “If it’s to finally get the last of your stuff that you left here, I have it in boxes in the spare room. I can bring it all down and send you on your way within five minutes.”
There was a lot he wanted to say in response to that, but instead he found himself saying, “You probably shouldn’t be lifting too much or going up and down the stairs a lot in your condition.”
Her face darkened as she glared at him. “Don’t pretend you give a shit now.”
Colson sighed and shook his head. “You’re right, I’m sorry. Can I come in? I just wanted to talk, to apologize.”
(Y/N) scoffed. “You leave me when I tell you I’m pregnant - with a baby that you wanted, might I add - and you leave for months, with no calls or texts or anything. And now you think you can come back and just...apologize for all of that?”
“I know, I fucked up - ”
“No, you don’t know,” she cut him off. “You really fucked up. You beyond fucked up, actually. You don’t understand how much it hurt me when you just walked out. You didn’t answer any of my calls or texts. I thought you were going to be happy when I told you I was pregnant. We talked about starting our own family for so long, and I thought you’d be overjoyed for this. But you just walked out and didn’t come back. You do not understand how hard that was for me to deal with, how hard it still is to deal with, while also trying to deal with this pregnancy all on my own!”
She was starting to cry. She mentally cursed her pregnancy hormones for making her so much more susceptible to tears lately. She didn’t want him to see her cry, especially not over him.
When he extended his arms to her, though, she gladly took the comforting hug. She sobbed into his chest, trying to take in his familiar smell and warmth without letting him back in too much. He couldn’t just come in and demand a second chance like this, but she also couldn’t lie and say she wasn’t relieved to see him on her doorstep.
Colson guided her into the house, closing the door behind them and bringing (Y/N) to her living room. They both sat down on her couch and (Y/N) wiped the tears from her eyes. She reached for a tissue from a box on one of her side tables and blew her nose as well.
“I had to start leaving tissue boxes in every room,” she sighed. “Stupid fucking hormones. I cry at everything now.”
“At least you’ve managed to prepare yourself for it,” Colson said.
She sighed and wiped at her face again. She felt so puffy and gross, and not just from the crying. The pregnancy had made her feel so many negative emotions. Even now, when she was supposed to be mad at Colson, she found herself self conscious about her round belly and how it made her look to him.
“Why did you leave?” she asked him. “I thought you wanted another baby.”
“I do,” he responded. “I should’ve been so goddamn excited when you told me you were pregnant. I think I would’ve felt that way if I wasn’t such an idiot instead and started feeling doubt about being a father again.”
(Y/N) furrowed her eyebrows. “What do you mean?”
“I mean...I panicked when you told me. I found myself thinking about if I was cut out to be a dad again. Like, what if I ended up missing so much of the baby’s life the same way I did with Casie? I wasn’t ready to be a dad when Emma was pregnant with Casie because I was so young, and I found myself back in that mindset when you told me you were pregnant. Just this sudden panic and self doubt.”
“But we talked about this. You said you wanted another baby.”
“I know. I don’t understand it either. It’s just my fucked up brain ruining everything again.”
(Y/N) placed her hand on Colson’s in a comforting gesture. “You’re not fucked up, and you are an amazing dad to Casie. I have no doubts that you’ll be even better with this baby, especially now since you’re older and have experience.”
Colson shook his head and let out a humorless laugh. “I can’t believe I was so stupid to let myself get worked up like that, though. I should’ve been so excited. We should’ve had a big ass fucking party to celebrate, and then you should’ve been moving into my house so we could start this family together. I shouldn’t have run out the door and left you like that.”
“Why didn’t you ever call or text me before now?”
“I felt embarrassed and stupid for my reaction. For the longest time, I just felt like I couldn’t face what I did, or face you. And then the more that time went on, the more I felt like coming back was a mistake. I figured you would kick me to the curb and tell me to never speak to you again. I thought...I thought that...if you even still had our baby, that you’d never let me see them anyways.”
(Y/N) found herself running her fingers along the back of his hand. What he was saying all made sense, and she felt like she believed him. She didn’t think he was malicious in leaving her. He didn’t do it because he was an asshole, he did it because he panicked suddenly and made a bonehead move, then his embarrassment got the better of him and made him overthink the situation even further. It didn’t completely heal the wound that his leaving had left inside of her, but it was enough to make her think she could possibly forgive him.
“If you had shown interest, I would’ve let you see her,” she said. “I would never keep you from your daughter if you wanted to be in her life.”
Tears were forming in Colson’s eyes as he looked up at (Y/N). “It’s a girl? You know that for sure?”
(Y/N) could feel herself welling up again, too. She nodded and got up to get the ultrasound she kept on the fridge. She passed it to Colson and sat down next to him.
“That’s her,” she said. “She was once the size of a peanut when I got my first sonogram, and now she’s a fully formed baby.”
“I can’t believe I’m gonna have another daughter,” Colson breathed.
“In a good way or a bad way?”
“Definitely a good way. I would’ve loved to have a son, but if there’s anything that being Casie’s dad has taught me, it’s that I love being a girl dad.” He placed the ultrasound on the coffee table and turned to face (Y/N). “I love you, too. More than anything, (Y/N). I was such a fucking idiot to ruin us the way I did, but I never stopped loving you in that time we had apart. I wanted nothing more than to call you or to show up on your doorstep like I did today, but I was terrified of what your reaction would be if I did.”
“I love you, too,” (Y/N) replied. It was the truth. She hadn’t stopped loving Colson, no matter how angry or upset he had made her. She loved him so much, and she felt like carrying his child had made her love him even more. “But you hurt me a lot. I meant what I said, you can’t just come in and say you’re sorry and suddenly everything goes back to normal.”
“I know, and I’ll do anything to win back your trust. Whatever you want, (Y/N), I’ll do it.”
“Right now, I want you to be here for the rest of my pregnancy, and I want you to be there when your daughter is born. We can take things from there.”
Colson nodded. “Will you come stay with me and Casie at least? I intended on asking you to move in with me anyways, and I know that’s a big ask right now, but I want you to be there and to start making it your home, because eventually it will be. Your home, and hers.” He put his hand on her bump, thinking about how his baby girl was growing in there.
(Y/N)’s eyes lit up as she nodded. “Give me a few minutes to pack a few things, and then we can head over. I want to see Casie anyways. I’ve missed her so much.”
~~~~~~
A few months later, Colson and (Y/N) were on the way to the hospital in the middle of the night. (Y/N) had woken up to pee and ended up having her water break. She woke Colson with her surprised shriek and he got everything together for the two of them to go to the hospital. Casie was at Emma’s, so Colson texted Emma to let her know that the baby was coming and to let Casie know that she would be a big sister by the time she woke up.
The labor pains weren’t as bad as (Y/N) expected, but they were still certainly the worst pain she had ever felt. Colson stayed by her side through the entire process, just like he promised. He let (Y/N) use his hand as a stress ball, crushing it with every contraction pain she felt. He stayed in the room after the doctor’s announced it was time to push and, even though he did feel a little lightheaded during the birthing process, he stayed to hear his baby girl cry for the first time.
The doctors let him cut the umbilical cord before they washed the baby girl and wrapped her in a soft, pastel pink blanket. The doctor passed Colson the baby and Colson sat next to (Y/N) so she could see her, too.
“She’s so beautiful,” (Y/N) breathed. “Besides the fact that she looks like a little prune.”
Colson chuckled. “Yeah, she definitely needs a day or two to look less wrinkly, but she’s gorgeous. You really did it, baby.”
(Y/N) mustered enough strength to reach out and lightly graze the baby’s cheek with her finger. “She was definitely worth all that pain and the exhaustion. Although, to be honest, I don’t think I can fight the sleep much longer.”
Colson leaned over to kiss her cheek. “Get some rest. When you’re feeling up to it, we’ll get Casie to come see her baby sister.”
(Y/N)’s eyes started to close, but Colson could see that she was trying to fight her fatigue. “We haven’t named her yet.”
“We can do that when you wake up. We have so much time to get everything figured out. You already did all of the hard stuff, let me help out with this side of things.”
She smiled, sheepishly, and forced her eyes open for another moment to look at Colson. “I love you.”
He smiled back at her. “I love you, too. More than you could ever know. Now, get some rest. We’ll both be here when you wake up.”
(Y/N) nodded and finally closed her eyes. It didn’t take her long to drift off to sleep. Colson stood so he could put the baby in the bed that the nurses had brought in to put next to (Y/N)’s bed. She had already stopped crying and had also been lulled to sleep in Colson’s arms. When he had her laid down, he stepped back to look at his two girls. He smiled and couldn’t help the tears that started to well up in his eyes. He couldn’t be any happier than he was in that moment.

Colson decides he wants another kid...now. After mind-blowing sex, Colson suggests that y/n stop taking birth control. Y/n shares that she wants to have a baby, but wants a little more time. He's a little frustrated and wants to know how much longer. Fluff & angst. No pregnancy.
All writings will be #writing-wh0re-requests
Likes are great but feedback is golden - Open to all feedback, I know there is room for improvement.
Hope this fic/imagine is somewhat, what you wanted Anon! Keep the requests coming xx
Warnings: Angst? Language.
Word Count: 790.
I quickly pulled my shirt back on, shimmying down my skirt as Colson smirked at me, licking his lips.
"What?" I questioned, smiling as I felt a blush creep onto my face. Even after two years together, he makes butterflies erupt within my stomach. Before Colson could respond there was a knock on the door.
"C'mon guys, I need Colson to be ready to perform." Pete says from behind the bathroom door as we both chuckled, opening the door to Pete, shaking his head at us.
"Honestly, mad respect." Pete laughed, clasping his best friend's shoulder as they both chuckled along.
"Pete, could you give us five minutes?" Colson asks, earning a sigh, as Pete nods.
"Only five, go to the left side of the stage, don't blow this." Pete warned as Colson flips him off, causing the pair to chuckle.
Colson grabbed my hand and led me to the smaller hallway away from any of the crew.
"Everything okay?" I questioned as Colson placed his hands on my waist.
"Everything is sweet, I was thinking, I really want another kid, with the upcoming break I think it would be fucking awesome for us to start our family. I know it takes a few weeks for the birth control to leave your system which is why I'm suggesting it now." Colson states as I feel the butterflies erupt again, my breath hitching at the surprise of Colson's statement.
"A baby? With everything going on right now? Col, the break is three weeks away and we only get two weeks together between my job and yours." Colson’s jaw tenses.
"You don’t want to have kids with me? To start a family with me?" He was getting defensive. I sighed.
"No, Colson-" Before I have a chance to finish my sentence Pete rushes to our side.
"Colson now." Pete warned as I sigh.
I watch as Colson scoffs, walking angrily off towards the stage as Pete looks between us.
"Don't even worry" I groaned as I ran a hand through my hair. Pete rolls his eyes and runs after him as I follow behind the pair.
I stand to the side of the stage, hidden backstage as Pete announces Colson to the SNL audience.
------
I clapped and cheered backstage as Colson walked off towards me, I smiled as I walked up to him, watching as he took his guitar off ignoring me and thanking his band.
"Col?" I questioned as he turned to me. "Can we finish our conversation?" I watched as his band walked away to give us some privacy.
"Not here." Colson mumbles as he walked away from me.
"Fucking seriously?" I groaned as I followed behind him, watching as he held his dressing room door open for me.
"Don't expect a thank you." I spit as I sit in the make-up chair. Watching as Colson chuckles and leans against the couch.
"I get it, you don't want kids, I'm sorry for even suggesting it. Didn’t expect such a strong reaction." Colson says as I roll my eyes.
"You literally only heard the words no come out of my mouth and you’ve just rolled with it." I spit, feeling angry at his dismissal.
"You said, no Colson." Colson mimics my voice as I cross my arms. Narrowing my eyes at him.
"You can infuriate me, you know that?" I watched as Colson licked his lips, winking at me.
"Oh baby, that only makes you sexier." Colson winks as I try not to smirk, sucking my teeth.
"I only said, No Colson because Pete interrupted me, I wasn't finished my fucking sentence." I huff as Colson looked me dead in the eyes. I continued before Colson had a chance to say anything.
"I want to have kids, I want us to start a family, it's just a huge step and takes more time to process than a split decision backstage at SNL."
"Oh, I'm sorry for throwing it at you." Colson sighs standing up and standing between my legs.
"I need you to know, I'm open to the idea. However we will only have two weeks together and it's going to be a stressful time for both of us. I hope you understand why I'm hesitant. I do want your kids Col, eventually." I say as Colson nods.
"However, I will stop taking my birth control, okay? On one condition." Colsen beams with happiness, rubbing my thighs as he hangs onto my every word.
"We don't put pressure on ourselves for it to happen, let's just let it happen okay?" I smile as Colson cups my face, kissing me.
"I love you Y/N." Colson says as I smile wide.
"I love you too." I say as Colson smiles, kissing me harder.

Funnel Cakes, Ferris Wheels, And Some Feelings
anon: A fluffy best friends to lovers concept with MGK where he and the reader spend the day at the carnival and end up admitting their feelings for each other on the Ferris wheel👉🏼🥺👈🏼
wc: 2.3k
tw: bad driving, food, a tik tok song if u squint.
:: :: ::
“Colson, please.” You whined, dragging out the ‘please’.
“I already said no.” He spoke monotonously without looking up from his phone. You pouted and gave him your best puppy eyes. “Stop with that shit you do with your eyes. It’s cute, but it’s not cute enough.”
“Then what is cute enough?” You threw your head back to add to the dramatics. “I really wanna go, but a carnival is no fun alone. I mean, I’m guessing.”
“You’re guessing?” Colson raised his eyebrows at you and only slightly lowered his phone. “If you’ve never been to a carnival alone, now’s a great time.”
“No,” you laughed and shoved his shoulder, “I’ve never been to a carnival period.”
“You’ve never been to a carnival?!” Colson asked a little too loudly in disbelief. “How have you never been to a carnival?”
You shrugged and made that hum people do when they have no clue. “I figured since this one’s in town, we could go together.” You let out a long heavy sigh and flopped onto Colson, pulling out an ‘oomph’ from the blonde haired giraffe boy. “But if you really don’t wanna go…”
“Alright, get up.” The words were short and clipped, and Colson only pulled out this tone when he was serious.
“What? Are we going?” Sitting up a little too fast, you looked at Colson with eyes that were incredibly hopeful.
“Yes, we’re going. Go put on your shoes.” He nodded and pointed to your shoes by the door.
“Aaah!” You squealed obnoxiously loud and smiled when you saw Colson wince. “Thank you, thank you, thank you!”
Colson pushed you farther away from him with a gentle kick of his legs against yours and closer to the door. “Go! Before I change my damn mind!”
“You’re no fun.” You pouted, dropping to the floor to put on your shoes.
“I’m taking you, aren’t I?”
“Yeah, yeah, yeah.” You rolled your eyes but a soft smile slowly spread across your face. You jumped up and looped your arm through Colson’s when you were done, hugging his arm close to your chest. “Thank you.”
Colson noted the genuine sincerity in your voice and his demeanor softened as he led you out of the front door. You and him were always bickering, but everyone, including the two of you, knew that it was only playing around. “You know I was gonna take you as soon as you mentioned it, right?”
“I know. I’m just- yeah, I’m just thankful. For you.” You chuckled and shook your head, stopping in front of the car. “Fuck. That was really sappy, huh?”
“Oh yeah, way too fucking sappy.” Colson nodded, a teasing smirk on his face. He opened the passenger door for you and held out his hand to help you in. When you put your hand in his, he grasped it and pulled you closer. You let out a sigh as he pulled you into a hug, your arms around his waist and one of his was around your shoulders while the other cradled your head. He placed a chaste kiss to your forehead and smiled. “But sappy isn’t always bad.”
The car ride to the carnival was about as hectic as any car ride with Colson. A few red lights ignored here, a few fire hydrants almost crashed into there, and a long hearty giggle fest at the tree Colson almost burned down not that long ago. You arrived faster than the google maps approximation of an hour, L.A. traffic surprisingly not that bad. Still very very bad. But less so than usual.
“Alright!” Colson slapped his hand on the roof of the car as soon as you were parked and out of your seats. “Rule number one of carnivals: Funnel Cakes!”
He pointed towards a stall right past the ticket vendor, and he was clearly right as people flooded from the ticket vendor right up to the food truck.
“I think we need to get tickets first.” You chuckled, rounding the length of the car and reaching Colson. You grabbed his arm and pulled him towards the ticket vendor.
“I know that.” Colson rolled his eyes. “Aside from the obvious, there’s rules to going to a carnival.”
“Oh, is there?” You asked, humoring him.
“Definitely.” Colson nodded as seriously as he could. “You have to eat funnel cake, you have to go on the carousel, you have to win a huge ass teddy bear, and you have to end the night on the ferris wheel.”
“In that order?” You asked once you had secured your place in line at the ticket vendor.
“And no other order.”
“Does the bear go on the ferris wheel or does it wait on the ground?” You asked, always the logical one. “It could fit on the ferris wheel, right? ‘Cause I’m pretty sure I’d steal a huge ass teddy bear left unattended. Can’t blame someone else if they felt those same urges towards our future abandoned huge ass teddy bear.”
“You make some great points.” Colson nodded, moving forward in line. Now only three other couples stood ahead of you.
You mentally scolded yourself for the use of the word ‘other’. You were not a couple. Colson is your best friend. Nothing else. You weren’t even sure if he considered you his closest friend. He had so many, it was hard not to compare yourself to them. All the clips online, the videos he posts late at night, the stories he’s told you of wild nights out. You felt like you could never compare.
Colson was always so calm with you. Made you wonder, did he slow down his usual escapades for you? Were you holding him back?
“-if not, we’ll put it in the car.”
“Huh?” You furrowed your eyebrows as you shook yourself out of your thoughts.
“We can put the bear in the car if there’s no space on the ferris wheel.” Colson repeated himself, eyebrows furrowing like yours. “Where’d you go there?”
“Hmm? Oh, nowhere. Yeah, bear in the car if need be.” You looked ahead in the line and saw that there were now two couples in front of you. “You know, if you really don’t like carnivals, we can head back. We haven’t bought any tickets or anything-”
“Hey, woah, what?” Colson interrupted you. “No, you can’t do that to me! Now I’m excited to win you a huge ass teddy bear! We’re not going anywhere.”
“Alright alright, I was just making sure!” You defended yourself. You felt the blood rush to your ears at Colson’s words. He was gonna win you the teddy bear. Like a sappy movie. Yeah this was definitely not helping your feelings.
Tickets were bought soon after, and true to his word, Colson’s first order of business was buying each of you a funnel cake.
“With this, there’s something you gotta keep in mind.” You nodded for him to continue. “You do not think of how ginormous it is. You just eat that shit. Every last bite. You gotta finish it, even if it’s too much.”
“I don’t think I can eat the whole thing, it’s huge!” You held the extremely large deep fried web of cake up to show him how truly gigantic the serving was.
Colson opened his mouth to tell you ‘yes, you still have to finish it. no exceptions.’ But then he saw your face. Fuck. He really couldn’t say no to you, could he? “Fine, you can give the rest to me. But only ‘cause it’s your first time!” When you smiled and nodded, Colson felt a wave of joy course through him. And after that a shock wave of fear.
This was not the time nor the place for his romantic feelings for you to come up. He really thought that he had successfully shoved those feelings deep into the recesses of his mind, but alas their heads keep rearing back into the forefront of his brain. He felt wrong about the feelings he had for you. Almost like he was taking advantage of you. He felt like you would regret all the time you spent together if you found out that during every movie night, every late night grocery run, and every early morning drive, Colson had a raging boner of the heart for you. He chuckled because he knew that his phrasing would bring you to a giggling heap on the ground.
“What’s so funny?”
“Nothin’.” He smiled to himself and looked down at his funnel cake.
“No, now you gotta tell me.” You smiled, glad to see that your best friend didn’t seem to hate being here. “Spill, hot stuff.”
Colson flushed at the nickname and cleared his throat. “Just thinking about how Case would have loved this place.”
“Yeah, I bet she would.” You mused as you looked around at all the kids running around. “You should bring her the next time she comes down here. If it’s still around, I’m not su-”
“We should.” Colson corrected you, stopping you mid sentence.
“Hm?”
“We should take her. Yeah, she’ll like it if I brought her to one of these.” He shrugged. “But she’d go crazy if you came too. She’s obsessed with you, you know?”
“I can’t blame her, I’m amazing.” You shrugged with a smirk.
“Ha ha ha.” Colson dusted off his hands and reached over to pop the last piece of your funnel cake into his mouth. “Get your ass up, it’s carousel time mother fucker!”
Carnival activities took more time than you thought. The games took time because of the long lines at every stall, and the rides took time because the operator couldn’t start them until most of the seats were filled. In conclusion, when Colson said that you were to end the night with the ferris wheel, you really didn’t think it would be dark out by the time you were lugging the huge ass teddy bear towards the colorful manifestation of the fear of heights.
Thankfully the ferris wheel had four seater booths, so the teddy bear you affectionately named Wild Boy got to ride with you. You sat him on the bench opposite you and Colson and fastened his seat belt just to be safe. Once you were settled and the ride started moving, you let out a content sigh.
“That was so much fun.”
“Yeah?” Colson asked, placing his arm around your shoulders. You nodded and pulled yourself closer into his side. “What was your favorite part?”
“Definitely when you wasted six tickets to get Mr. Boy over here.” You giggled.
“Hey!” Colson raised his hand a little. “How dare you say that was a waste. It was an honor using up six of our precious tickets. I don’t think you get it, y/n. I had to get you this big ass teddy bear.”
“You had to?” You asked, raising an eyebrow.
“Yup.” He popped the p and nodded, looking straight ahead and trying his hardest to keep a neutral facial expression. “Them’s the rules.”
Your face broke out into a tightlipped smile as your giggled escaped as puffs of air through your nose. “Where is this rulebook of carnival trips?”
“Up here, baby.” Colson grinned, tapping his temple. “I haven’t gotten it published yet, but I don’t know if I will.”
“Mmm.” You hummed and nodded. “The information is too sacred for the public.”
There was a lull in the conversation, leaving you to review the last few spoken words between the two of you. You sat up a little straighter and furrowed your brows once you recalled Colson’s previous words.
“What?”
“Oh my god, did you,” you paused and turned to look at Colson, “did you call me baby?”
Colson had never called you that. Come to think of it, Colson has never called you anything but your name. Not that you were complaining, but the deviation certainly stood out to you. You couldn’t blame him really, you had to stop yourself from calling him something similar all day. Today’s activities felt almost too much like a date. But you thought you only felt like that because you had feelings for him.
Colson looked straight ahead and furrowed his brows in thought before he slowly turned to you. “Maybe.”
“Uh.” You felt a small smile sneak itself on your face.
“Is that okay?”
“Yeah, it’s cool. I like that.” You tried to respond nonchalantly, mentally face-palming yourself over the words you chose.
“Cool.” Colson smiled and relaxed, leaning back again.
You both stayed silent for a few moments, simply processing. Then you quickly snapped back to face Colson only to see that he had done the same thing.
“Wait, does that mean-”
“Fuck man, it better.”
Your eyes grew wide when you actually realized what just happened. You reached out and pulled Colson towards you so quickly that the ferris wheel booth you were sitting in shook. You looped your arms around his neck and quickly placed your lips on his. Before you could question whether or not he wanted this too, he grabbed you by the waist and pulled you closer to him, deepening the kiss.
When you pulled away, you saw that you were halfway through your trip on the ferris wheel, leaving you and Colson at the very top. “Holy shit, I’d like to quote Mod and say ‘movie.’”
Colson couldn’t help but agree. It was the most cinematic moment of the day.
“So you’re telling me, this whole fucking time-” Colson couldn’t help but chuckle. “I thought you liked Baze!”
“Baze?!” You gasped. “No! It’s been you, it’s been you for a long time.”
“Good, ‘cause it’s been you for a long time for me too.” Colson grinned. “Does that mean I can kiss you all the time now?”
“You never even have to ask.”
