"The future only belongs to the future itself, and the future is Electric Youth".
Tumblr media
Okay so,Ā Time Traveler (The Crane Legacy)Ā wasnā€™t a story in the beginning, it started as just gameplay about a young guy from the future, Robin Crane, a plumbot builder, who travels to the past and meets the woman of his dreams. Robin had a concern, though, in the Oasis Landing population files, no descendants of his were listed, so he became obsessed that he should start having kids right away, so much so, that he got into all the trouble that gave rise to the story.
Then, you know me, I started planning and writing a plot, taking posed photos for the characters, using special saves in both Aurora Skies and Oasis Landing to stage scenes, etc. And, since I had to follow a script, my charactersā€™ lives were kind of on pause.Ā Butā€¦Ā in the original Aurora Skies save, where everything started, time and life continued to pass for the Cranes and the Shens (Julietteā€™s family), something that doesnā€™t happen in my story saves, where, due to technical reasons, life takes much longer to pass.
I've tried to keep secret what happens in the original Aurora Skies' save, so as not to spoil the story, but since Time Traveler is about, well, time traveling, lol, I thought we could do a little six-year time jump from 2017 to 2023 in order to introduce the next generation (3rd actually) of the Crane dynasty. So, without further ado, I present to you the third generation of Cranes.
Tumblr media
From left to right: Carrie, Wanda, Rowan, Jessica, and Collin. Rowan and Jessica are the oldest with 8 (real life) years; and Collin, Carrie and Wanda are 6 (real life) years old. (Yes, they're all the same height cause I don't use height sliders in order not to mess my game).
As we already know, these five kids are all Robin's children, from three different moms, which are Juliette Shen (Rowan's mom) Kaleigh Chandelace (Collin's mom) and Ann Conners (Jessi, Carrie and Wanda's mom). Despite this, they love each other as if they were full siblings, cause they all have something in common: they have the same father, and some of them, (I am not telling which ones), also share Robin's alien genes. They are currently living their lives at the fullest, learning about their alien powers and preparing to compete among themselves to be Robin's successor. Who of them will make it? I still don't know so I can't tell, and if I knew I wouldn't tell. šŸ˜‰
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sorry if this post was too long, or if it seemed like a spoiler, it's just I'm so happy with how this generation turned out that I couldn't resist, and I just can't wait for them to grow so I can tell their stories. šŸ˜‹
I take this opportunity to say that Time Traveler (the actual story) is not over, it will be back, though maybe not too soon. I'm currently writing the episodes of Part Three: To the Moon and Back, where we will go to Robin's rescue after his abduction by an alien ship, and where, contrary to this post, we'll go back one generation to meet Robin's long-lost parents. It's a long way to go, but eventually we'll get there, then we'll let Robin take a rest as we move on to this brand new third generation. Of course, I want to give my endless thanks to Bee @poses-by-bee, @gabrielabenacci, @anasaquasims and Rayne's Factory and for the poses. As well as to @aroundthesims, @anzuchansims, @ifcasims, @plumdrops, lillka, blakegriplingph (MTS), and sketchbook pixels for the kids' hair and clothing. Proper credits and links here below: POSES

sorry but snow is such a well written iconic villain and donald sutherland performs him so fucking good it's almost hilarious how i start practically foaming at the mouth every time the man opens his mouth to say something deplorable in those movies, like he's so utterly and despicably wrong about almost every crucial thing from katniss and peeta's relationship to human nature as a whole and yet the second he starts talking about how hope is the only thing stronger than fear and how you have to allow a little hope but control it so its spark doesn't grow into revolution and how it's the things we love the most that destroy us you bet your ass i am on the floor screaming crying throwing up because that is my psychotic mustache-twirling villain RIGHT THERE

a bulleted list of allusions in THG Trilogy or TBOSAS that paint a certain picture.
Tessarae is tile, but the Districts pay Tessarae to acquire extra grain & oil in exchange for putting extra entries in the Reaping bowl.
Mayor Lipp slapped Lucy Gray in public despite her selection as Tribute; Mayor Undersee purchased strawberries in private, & died.
Sejanus Plinth was originally from District 2, considered that his origin (even though his father allied with Panem) & Madge Undersee said, "you only go to the Capitol if you're invited," and wasn't (because she was best friends with Katniss).
Jessup Diggs and Lucy Gray Baird held hands during The Reaping
Coriolanus visited a zoo in his lifetimeā€”Monkey House in particularā€”& by the 75th Games, monkeys are unheard of let alone a zoo population because animals had been eaten during war crises. Grandma'am told Coryo how Crassius Snow used to say "people only drank water because it didn't rain blood." Blood rain & monkeys were both in the Quarter Quell.
Arachne Crane was a mentor in the 10th Games & Seneca Crane became a Gamemaker. The same happens with Hilarious Heavensbee & Plutarch Heavensbee.
Seneca Crane had "sentimental streak," who let Everlark live, whereas Arachne tormented her tribute. Both of them were killed as a result.
Snow hates that Tigris may have to sell herself to afford things without money, yet Snow forces Finnick into the same prositution after his Games.
Sejanus covering the girl from D10 after her wound often reminds me of Katniss & Rue whereas Coriolanus & Arachne remind me of Peeta & the Female Morphling.
The question of cancelling The Games came up twice in history.
Both snakes & lizards are reptiles; both were used as mutts that hunted by scent.
Coriolanus made the observation that seeing Avoxes as half-animal mutts frightened him, as if Capitol kids were in The Games instead; Alma Coin suggested that a 76th Games be ā€œwith Capitol children, like Snow's grandchild."
"History," according to Professor Demigloss, "is about how to make the unwilling comply." (That seems like what Snow did to his prisoners in Mockingjay).
No vistors were permitted in The Zoo after someone was shot, like the Tributes in the 75th Games were no longer allowed goodbyes.
There are more, most likely, but these are ones that jumped out immediately

I have several thoughts and ideas regarding "Sunrise on the Reaping" so allow me to share some:
I love the idea of dual or multiple POVs. Suzanne said this book would focus a lot more on the propaganda side of things and it could be interesting to see how different characters are affected by the propaganda. I won't complain though if it's just Haymitch's POV though, he's one of my favorites; Maysilee and Haymitch dual POVs would be the death of me I think.
What if it is told from the POV of the Career girl that Haymitch killed at the end of his games? The career districts are trained for the games and made to believe that volunteering for the games is an honorable thing to do because of propaganda. Also at the end of the first Hunger Games book, Cato essentially becomes disillusioned with the whole thing after Clove dies, and it would be interesting to see the perspective of a character as they process those emotions and realizations.
Based on the title, there's an emphasis being placed on the reaping ceremony (duh), so it could be told from the POV of a character like Effie Trinket who goes to the districts and calls out tributes names.
It could also be told from the POV of the Head Gamemaker for the Quarter Quell. We got to see the beginnings of it all with Dr. Gaul in "ABOSAS" and then how they have basically been forced to up the stakes every year, especially now for the Quarter Quell. There might be some fallout on them and their team for what happened at the end in a sense of "the faulty design" of the arena allowed for Haymitch to "cheat" and win. It could be a Seneca Crane situation.
This is probably a long shot, but I'm throwing it out there for the fun of it: Caesar Flickerman POV.
People have already said this multiple times but Kiefer Sutherland as (another) young President Snow would be such good casting for the movie.

now that iā€™m reading the original latin of the pharsalia i donā€™t think iā€™ll ever be over suzanne collinā€™s genius when she wrote thg. thereā€™s traces of lucan EVERYWHERE but my favorite by far is catoā€™s story, especially this quote:
ā€œthe gods favored the victor; cato the lost causeā€
because, truly, the gods of the arena (i.e. seneca crane & co) favored katniss & peeta while cato favored the games, despite their dwindling popularity and hatred within the districts.
then thereā€™s plutarch, the embellishing historian, telling true stories with extra spice to subtly influence his audienceā€™s thoughts. seneca, the respected philosopher and friend of the emperor, forced to take his own life as punishment for conspiracy. coriolanus, the general who treated commoners and his tribunal so badly that they eventually threw him out of rome. enobarbus, the cynic who played both sides in the war between antony and caesar.

The Hunger Games characters have some unique names based on many cultures we've lived in today.
What's your favourite character names from THG world? What's their names meaning?
Bonus questions :
If you're a fanfic writer writing about characters who lives in Panem, what's their name gonna be?
If you're a reader, what's a name you read in a THG fanfic that stuck with you?
Thank you, @curiousnonny
Got to be Sejanus. By far who his name is based off of and who is is justā€¦perfect.
Copied straight from the Wikipedia page, the very first paragraph;
ā€œLucius Aelius Sejanus (c. 20 BC ā€“ 18 October AD 31), commonly known as Sejanus (/sÉŖĖˆdŹ’eÉŖnəs/),[1] was a Roman soldier, friend, and confidant of the Roman Emperor Tiberius. Of the Equites class by birth, Sejanus rose to power as prefect of the Praetorian Guard (the Roman imperial bodyguard), of which he was commander from AD 14 until his execution for treason in AD 31.ā€
Like ok come on now Suzanne at least make me have something more to interpret!!
Whatā€™s interesting about him though is the fact that he is district born, and as we see in Katniss, Gale, Primrose, Madge, Mayfair, Carine (Katnissā€™ mom), Rue, Delly, and any non career district, district kids typically have fairly normal names or names related to their districts (Reaper the farming name from D11, Coral & Mizzen, sea & ship names from d4). While their names still have something to do with their character, they make more sense with district kids and are less obvious (will explain later).
However, with Sejanus, he was born in district two. His parents were from district two. Strabo even can be related to Straboā€™s character but thatā€™s for later.
Sure, it can be argued that district two is a career district, but Katniss & Coriolanusā€™ accounts together hint that this process took decades to be sure of and to really benefit from. District two would be a bit better off after the first revolution, but not much.
I just find it funny itā€™s so clear with Sejanus what he was always meant to be.
Straboā€™s name is a bit more a stretch, but Strabo was an Ancient Greek geographer. He was mostly known for being, and I quote;
ā€œhistorian whose Geography is the only extant work covering the whole range of peoples and countries known to both Greeks and Romans during the reign of Augustus (27 BCEā€“14 CE)ā€
He specialized in geography. District two is full of mountains (that Ma loves), and he literally moved his whole family. As I said, a bit of a stretch, but still thereā€™s SOMETHING there.
Even the familyā€™s last name, Plinth, means a heavy base supporting a statue or vase. Every part of Sejanusā€™ name includes some type of support, and itā€™s so apparent with just one google search. I love it, and we know so much about his character so itā€™s easier to make these inferences than it will be with the Ring Twins or Remus Dolittle, yet I will. This answer might have to be two parts lol.
Now onto other characters that we know just a bit better: Tigris, Persephone, Iphigenia, Vipsania, Arachne, and saving last for last, Coriolanus.
Firstly; Tigris! Tigris was the easternmost river out of two that defined Mesopotamia, one of (or maybe the) the earliest civilizations/cultures, dating back to 14,000 BC as the time period when people originally started settling. Because Iā€™m not here to give a history lesson Iā€™m not gonna explain the importance of a river to a civilization, but I went through 6th grade geography and suffice to say she was important as hell.
Tigris was believed to have been created by the God Enki, the Sumerian god of knowledge, crafts, and creation among other things. Tigris is continually proven to be resourceful, creative, and gives very much DIY girlie vibes, which sound a lot like Enki.
As I said before, the Mesopotamian region was one of the first civilizations. Many have theorized that mankind as we know it wouldnā€™t exist without Mesopotamia, and what would Mesopotamia not exist without? Tigris.
Tigris provided opportunities for the Mesopotamian region (Coriolanus) to grow, get stronger, become innovative, and provided for them. If that doesnā€™t scream Tigris I donā€™t know what does.
Now, Persephone! My favorite capital names are the ones from Greek mythology (I am a Percy Jackson fan page) or ancient mythology, because itā€™s less work to find connecting factors. Honestly I had no clue who Sejanus was, I just googled his name, and my mom is a Shakespeare fan which is how I know Coriolanus.
Anywho, for yā€™all who are normal, Persephone was the daughter of the farming/harvest goddess who was kidnapped by the death god. All versions of this myth agree on that. Some say that it was part of a deal with Zeus that Hades (the death god) knew about, but Demeter (farming/harvest goddess) didnā€™t. Of course these are definitely a very simple and quick way to describe Hades & Demeter, but it gets my point across.
The funny thing is, we donā€™t know much about Persephone in canon. I donā€™t know if Suzanne did this on purpose like she clearly did with Sejanus, but I find it interesting that whenever Persephone Price is brought up, so is cannibalism.
See, Nero Price, Persephone dad and Coriolanus was the main example that Coriolanus used to show how bad things were during the war. Coriolanus and Tigris saw him one snowy evening sawing off the leg of a maid with a large knife, wrapping it in the skirt from her waist, and going on his way. It makes Coriolanus question if he could ever be seen as edible, which is kinda funny to me lowkey, but the whole scene is on page 31-32.
Persephone. She is literally torn between the harvest (farmers food & stuff) and the underworld, the realm of the dead. Part of her myth is she stays there for 3 months and in the realm of the living for the other 9 because she ATE 3,pomegranate seeds. She ate something she wasnā€™t supposed to. Let me also mention, in different versions of the myth she wanted to leave or didnā€™t. When Festus and Persephone are getting close, Coriolanus questions if Persephone ever knew what was on her plate.
Now Iphigenia!! If yā€™all didnā€™t remember Persephone, I doubt yall will remember Iphigenia, as I only did combing the list of names Coriolanus had for interesting ones and finding her. Sheā€™s a very minor character- we donā€™t know much about her hobbies or likes and dislikes or her personality. But Iā€™ll get to TBOSAS Iphigenia in a second.
Iā€™m sure of yā€™all at least know the Trojan war. If anyone studied it specifically, you probably know Agamemnon. Hereā€™s the paragraph explaining the story from Wikipedia;
ā€œIn the story, Agamemnon offends the goddess Artemis on his way to the Trojan War by hunting and killing one of Artemis' sacred stags. She retaliates by preventing the Greek troops from reaching Troy unless Agamemnon kills his eldest daughter, Iphigenia, at Aulis as a human sacrifice. In some versions, Iphigenia dies at Aulis, and in others, Artemis rescues her.ā€
Youā€™re probably wondering, ā€œwow, what could such a minor character have to do with that tale?ā€
When I say we get very little from her, I mean it. I donā€™t mean we get very little from her in the same way as I do when talking about Festus, or any other classmates. We know she doesnā€™t know if district 5 girlā€™s (her tributeā€™s) name is Sol or Sal (itā€™s Sol).
Thereā€™s one piece of information on her that stands out though. Iā€™m going to paraphrase Coriolanus on page 252 when I say this- ā€œher father oversaw food stuff in Panem, but she always looked almost malnourished. Clemensia had once said it was the only revenge she could take on her father but didnā€™t give any other details,ā€
boy oh boy. Because of this one, small little paragraph, Iphigenia has always interested me. When Clemensia doesnā€™t give any other details, she means it. NO details appear afterwards and Iphigenia is maybe mentioned once ever again. Trust me, I know. Every time I reread TBOSAS I look for different things, which is part of the reason I reread it sm.
We never know why Iphigenia takes revenge. We never know anything about her relationship with her father. There are so many possibilities (abuse, Iphigenia the rebel, etc), and considering her namesakeā€™s issues with her father itā€™s just crazy the amount of detail Suzanne put into such a minor character.
Next, Vipsania- thereā€™s actually not much I can say about her, I just thought it was a funny coincidence this is what came up when I googled her;
ā€œVipsania Agrippina (/ĖŒĆ¦É”rəĖˆpaÉŖnə, -ĖˆpiĖ-/; 36 BC ā€“ 20 AD) was the first wife of the Emperor Tiberius.ā€
Two things- first, recognize what emperor she married? Yep! Tiberius- aka the emperor Sejanus was a friend and confident of. I think Suzanne mightā€™ve gone down a Tiberius rabbit hole, because her last is familiar as well- Professor Agrippina. She was the gym teacher, and Sejanusā€™ mentor. This little circle of names and relations is just funny to me is all, although thereā€™s not much on VA in history or much to say about Vipsania.
Arachne!!! Gosh I love her. Well, I love how plain the connection is between her character in TBOSAS and her character in mythology. Really sheā€™s pretty disrespectful and a jerk in both lol.
In Greek mythology, Arachne is a woman-turned spider, the first spider. Arachne believed she could win a weaving competition against Athena, goddess of crafts, because of how beautiful her work was and how much everyone complimented her.
Athena, hearing this hubris, disguised herself as an old woman and told Arachne not to boast like that. Arachne then challenged Athena, and told the old woman the only reason Athena hadnā€™t gone against her herself was she was too scared.
Of course Athena then revealed herself, and they battled. Athenaā€™s weaver thing showed the Greek gods doing good stuff, Arachneā€™s showed the gods in their most unfavorable aspects. Due to this disrespect, and in some versions because it was better (tho I personally donā€™t believe that), Athena turned Arachne into a spider so she could weave forever.
The pride?? The taunting until it becomes serious?? The permanent change?? The rage that prompted the act?? Arachne as Arachne is the most perfect name on here, because who else would she be?? Another great one of Suzanneā€™s names. Genius.
Before we get to the last name, Coriolanus himself, let me point out I have no district people on here. Let this show just how interesting Strabo & Sejanusā€™ names are.
Finally!! The last one!! Coriolanus.
Coriolanus is actually quite disappointing compared to Sejanus or Arachne, but thereā€™s still something here so Iā€™m going to paste the Wikipedia on Coriolanus, the man Shakespeare based his play after & what happened in the play.
ā€œCoriolanus is the name given to a Roman general after his military feats against the Volscians at Corioli. Following his success he seeks to be consul, but his disdain for the plebeians and the mutual hostility of the tribunes lead to his banishment from Rome. In exile, he presents himself to the Volscians, then leads them against Rome. After he relents and agrees to a peace with Rome, he is killed by his previous Volscian alliesā€
Now, unlike many of these other characters, Coriolanusā€™ relationship to his namesake mirrors his relationship to another character (Lucy Gray) more than his personality.
Coriolanus wants to be with Lucy Gray, but eventually due to his hatred of the districts and love of the capital, he ends up turning against her. He starts out wanting to help her, yet his own disgust only ends up hurting him.
Coriolanus is eventually killed by his former allies, what heā€™s created. Thatā€™s what happens in the original hunger games series. When Coin does the faked bomb drop, everyone he worked so hard to make love him turn against him quickly. He revolutionized the capital and they turned against him.
He almost changed his own feelings about district people and it ended up almost taking his life and career.
Help I forgot there was another part to the question šŸ˜. Anywho if I was gonna write some, Iā€™d probably just use random names or if I had a really good and accurate name (or totally opposite name) from mythology or a poem or something Iā€™d use that and make it correspond to the character.
This is embarrassing, but a lot of the names from crimson rivers, a hunger games/marauders au stuck with me! Nothing specific, but anything that wasnā€™t a marauders character always made me go ā€œhuh! I like that!ā€
In conclusion though, Suzanne is a genius. As I said, I might have to reblog this later with more names if I ever think of any. This is probably my most researched answer, due to all the mythology and Wikipedia searches I had to do, so sorry that it took longer! Usually I just remember things and explain them lol.
Thank you for the question @curiousnonny, and as always, feel free to debate in the comments/reblogs but please donā€™t argue. I always enjoy answering and dissecting questions, so anyone feel free to ask!

For those who want to read everything from Episode 1 to 120, you can go to this page; for those who are up to date and want to read only the most recent chapters, you can go here. (Episodes from 121 to 212 haven't been transcribed from my old blog to Wordpress yet but will be, eventually).

To the people who are still following this story, and to those who have left likes and comments on my blog, thank you so much, it means a lot to me! ā¤ļø
I'm aware that Time Traveler has gotten longer than it should be. You know, it's supposed to be legacy, a generational gameplay, so at this point we should be reading the adventures of young Jessica, Rowan and Collin, second generation Cranes, but lack of time, family and real life issues (happy for the most part thankfully) haven't allowed me to get there.
For now, we are just about to unravel the mystery of Robin Crane's origin, and the whereabouts of his parents Douglas and Sylvie, plus we have yet to reunite Robin and Juliette, mind you! It is only after accomplishing this, that we will be able to move on to the second generation. So, I ask you to bear with me. Someday, one way or another, we will get there. šŸ˜‰

soo disappointed that they removed arachneā€™s funeral. i get that they had to cut many things to fit the filmā€™s run time, but i was so surprised when they didnā€™t put it. because i took it as a pretty bold event, displayed to highlight how far the capitol would go to remind the district of their control and power. so urgent for them, that they would even surrender to blowing the what shouldā€™ve been a respectable funeral of one of their own out of proportion for propaganda use.
even snow saw it as such, that so many soldiers have died in the war, and yet they passed with such little recognition and honor compared to the girl who died stupidly as a ā€œcasualty of cheap laughs.ā€ there was a speech from the president and dr. gaul, overstated praises and exaggerated claims, fabricated statements inching to lies, battalion of peacekeepers, quartet of horses, pulling the tributes in the cage for a show. how the gore of brandyā€™s body displayed hung in the air, dangling from its hook, causing more horror than the respect one wouldā€™ve expected for a funeral.
what grated me the most when i was reading this was that, from what i got, the capitol was still on shaky ground with the economy, especially with the ruins of the war still evident in every corner, so many things to fix. and yet they still spent what they had on this, just to show the people in the districts things they had already known from their starving stomachs and overworked handsā€”that they lost, and the capitol won.
and they did this twice, again for didi and polloā€™s funeral. with what was left of the fallen tributes sickly paraded behind them.
i just keep thinking how these carefully put together events only show how the capitol truly had no genuine respect even for children of their own. their sympathy was only used when they had a political goal of their own, if there was something to make a propaganda out of. to sway the massesā€™ views and their perspective and will the spotlight on them to bring on their crocodile tears.
how, when it comes to medias and gaining sympathy and feeding fear and terror to the opposition, the capitol spares no expense, showed both in the hunger games, and even their own studentsā€™ funerals.
this just emphasizes the main theme of this entire series, how children were always the ones at the most disadvantage when it comes to war, and are so often used and exploited by the reigning governments, no matter what side are they on. really really wish they couldā€™ve kept this one in honestly.

I really hope Collin finds out about pen being lady whistledown and gets mad. So far she gets away with so much. She literally threw her pregnant cousine marina, who just lost her lover in war, under the bus because she was jealous. This season she humiliated him because she was pissed. She only wrote something bad about herself, when literally everyone already knew, so it didn't even matter. It feels icky that he might marry her without knowing this things. If I was eloise I wouldn't let her near my brother without knowing what she did in the first season.
