What are your HC for the main gangs odd quirks?

I have quite a few! More than I can list in one ask! But here is a few:

Tord has a lot of harm-seeking stims (specifically biting, hair pulling, picking at their eyes)

Generally they have a detachment from pain, but the explanation for that would probably take a whole other post

And, kinda basic, but Tord has a big interest in anything inhuman/monstrous. They especially take notice of these features on Matt and Tom

Though that stems from the dissociation they have from their own humanity, but again, whole other post

Tom is a strange one, because he goes from chill guy who you'd meet at the bar to absolute gremlin at the flip of a coin. He especially has a strange way of showing affection. He tends to be fairly physical with his loved ones, "play fighting" so to speak. He also bites, a lot

Tom also likes eating a lot of things that he shouldn't. He particularly likes hard and "crunchy" items. Rocks, crystals, glass, etc are his go to's. But he has consumed the stray bug or squirrel

A lot of Edd's stem from poor hygiene/self care. A big one his him forgetting (and refusing) to take off his binder, even when he has worn it too long. On a related note, he barely washes his hoodie, wearing it way more than it should be worn.

On a lighter note, I like to imagine that Edd is a cat magnate. His roommates had to go on walks with him to prevent him from coming home with 10 stray cats to adopt.

As for Matt,

So this is gonna be long post.

It's just a thing with me. Only super-cool people relate. /j

I also tend to base *some* headcanons on what is already canon, or blend them in some way, so some of this might be old news.

Oh, and I'll put a cut before the suggestive ones just so people who don't want to see that sort of stuff can safely scroll by.

EDIT: The cut does not seem to be working because Tumblr hates me so, um, WARNING FOR SUGGESTIVE STUFF.

He's 6'5". His height has fluctuated in his appearances, but I much prefer when he's taller than Bruce, such as in Telltale and BTAS. BuT a DisTRIct AtTornEY dOesN't NeE- lalalalalala, I don't careeeeeee. I like the image of him being physically imposing, not just for villainous purposes, but also to juxtapose how much of a sweetheart he is, or was. There is also another reason.

He stims with his coin. Months back I talked in length about how I think Harvey might view his coin as a way to reclaim his abuse against his father, but I also see him using it as a comfort item, as sick as it may be (considering its past), and that the constant twirling and flipping is a way for him to stim.

He loves 50s/60s music. Namely the likes of Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, Sam Cooke, Lesley Gore, Dean Martin, Roy Orbinson...

He sings! I know this is kind of canon, but that MF can sing. His Harvey voice is smooth and articulate, very vintage, meanwhile Two-Face's is, of course, raspier and almost more of a rocker's voice.

Two-Face names his guns. I've drawn some of these before, but Harvey doesn't bother with such nonsense. Harvey views weapons as a last resort; their mere existence throws justice into question. Why can someone wield such a thing that sets the odds in their favour immediately? But Two-Face knows they get the job done quickly. They're like the broom of Gotham; a quick way to be rid of the scum. So he names them, for they are beloved, much like how legendary weapons have been named in the past for what they have slain.

He dissociates/has derealization episodes. Yes, he has DID, and dissociation is in the name, but during really intense symptoms, such as his depression, paranoia and personalities all practically screaming in his head, he ends up having a bad derealization episode, much like how you would see someone have after they suffer a panic attack. His coin helps ground him.

He has definitely done that fucking pottery scene from Ghost with Gilda while she's sculpting. You know the one.

He's an elegant shooter but a brutish fighter. Not only is he a God with guns, he's also precise and elegant. But with physical combat? Brutal, much like a street fighter. I suppose both Batman and Deathstroke's training gets muddled in some ways...

His henchmen give him gifts now and then. They just do, and he doesn't understand it. Silly stuff, like bi-coloured mugs or shirts. Perhaps to keep his short-temperedness at some sort of bay. Doesn't work half the time, however.

He takes depression naps. Because of course he does. Having mental health issues is also physically taxing. I imagine he sleeps a lot, but also struggles to sleep at the same time because everything is so damn loud in his head.

He's bisexual. Gotta love both. Harvey has a preference for women, Two-Face has a preference for men.

Fussy with his suits and clothes. In The Judas Coin, we see Harvey's kind of a suit-nerd. Enough said. That MF loves to look good. Harvey loves stuff that's timeless and classic, very reminiscent of 40s/50s mafia wear, while Two-Face loves gaudy, striking stuff. They have to compromise, hence the split suits in the first place.

He doesn't like himself very much but just puts up with it. He's a walking contradiction, a hypocrite to himself. He claims to uphold the law but also bastardizes it. Also, he avoids mirrors and reflections if possible (that was something that was mentioned in his older issues, but they never brought it back, I don't think). He's smashed a mirror before, or two, or three.

He's a hopeless romantic. I've talked a little about this before, but he crushes hard, falls harder, and ever since being widowed, he pines for validation but seldom receives such because of his reputation.

He's a vintage lighter collector. He's got those S.T. Duponts and those 1970 electric Ronson's, I just know it.

Harvey constantly makes courtroom puns. Nobody laughs except Gilda.

He's an embarrassing dancer. He loves singing older tunes, but when it comes to dancing, he loves those cheesy 80 tunes. Get him drunk enough and he'll kill the dancefloor... with second-hand embarrassment.

So, I also have a lot of thoughts about The Judge too, but they're very scattershot and I'd rather compile them at another time, plus this post doesn't need to be any longer than what it is, lmao.

I also have more HCs around what he'd be like with the Batkids and Bruce, but again, this post is already long.

Ok, suggestive stuff now, and I'm going to kick it off with a hot take:

Harvey and Two-Face are monogamous. A really popular HC I've seen for Harvey is that he loves having multiple partners - two partners, of course, for each side of him. Well... I DISAGREE. /lh Personally, I think he prefers the one. He likes to purely focus on that one person and treat them like they're the only person that exists, in hope they'll do the same for him. To make him feel like he's whole; that, for once, he's not split.

Two-Face is protective and jealous. If you're out with him and he sees someone eyeing you up, out come the knuckle dusters.

He's dominant. And rough. But he'll always ask what you want; do you want to be praised or degraded while he's using you?

The coin can be fun. Sometimes he gets extremely impassioned and heated, and he just doesn't know what to do with his partner next. Good thing he has an item that helps him decide. The ambiguity of which side will turn up can add to the excitement!

Scar worship makes him melt. It just does. He hates that side of him, but seeing someone stroke or caress his scars, telling him how handsome he looks, that's a sure-fire way to send him over the edge. He'll probably fall in love.

Harvey shows love through words and actions, Two-Face shows it through gifts. Harvey will reassure his partner through words and keeping those words upheld. Meanwhile, Two-Face will corrupt his partners with gifts.

Two-Face is a bit clingy. He'll text a lot, call a lot, ask where his partner is, how they are, if they're ok. Harvey is more relaxed.

Aftercare King. He knows how strong he is and how violent (for lack of a better word) he can be. So he'll always check in with his partner to make sure they're fine.

Harvey is vocal and sappy, Two-Face isn't. Not just during the act, but afterwards. Harvey will want to cuddle, he'll want to talk over a cigarette, he wants to get to know his partner on a deeper level. Two-Face generally needs some room first. He might be a bit cold, but he'll come around.

Again, I have more in this regard, but that's what AO3 is for!

Oh, also, I saw your ask about Gerard Butler and his doggo... I agree, hehe, maybe Harvey can walk Dick's dog at some point, lol.

Nikolai headcanons

-Nikolai grew up poor, so he was never allowed much. This caused him to steal things. He would steal small thinks like jewelry or trinkets and sell them for money. Sometimes he would steal toys for himself (things like Yo-Yos or balloons or bouncy balls)

-Nikolai was sometimes offered food by those who pitied him and his family, but he often stole extra pieces of food and saved them for later. He still has this habit

-Nikolai taught himself to make balloon animals to replicate the stuffed animals he saw other kids carry

-Nikolai has psychosis but he is aware of this. It genuinely causes him to feel worse whenever it’s bad, because even though he’s aware that he has this, it doesn’t make it any easier to deal with

-Nikolai decided to make stealing fun by making a game out of it. He’d steal small things and work up to bigger things, seeing how far he could get before being caught. This is some of the little entertainment he got when he was younger

-Nikolai made small dolls growing up and liked to pretend he was apart of their family and imagined living in a nice house with lots of food and friends and a close family

-Nikolai often stims by swishing his coat, swinging/spinning his cane, clapping, etc and he often copies noises/actions from others

-As a sort of symbol of the freedom he chases and breaking free from his parents, he wears a necklace with a broken cross tucked under his shirt. However when he gets real bad and freedom seems far from him, he’ll tear it off and throw it (but once he calms down he fixes it)

-Nikolai has immunity to light poisons due to him training his body to be able to take it. He did this when he was younger in fear of someone poisoning any food or drinks they gave him (he assumed people didn’t want to deal with an unstable kid)

-Nikolai has a whole bunch of custom made weapons/torture devices. His personal favorites being his chainsaw and a wrench wrapped in rusted barbed wire

-Nikolai loved to do tricks by spinning pens or doing that weird coin thing where you flip it between your fingers growing up

Stealing it from a discord conversation, but Amity is always holding SOMETHING, and from a distance, it almost seems like she's pulling a Grimsley and has a personal 'good luck coin,' which I can't lie to y'all. That would look REALLY sick, a witchy goth woman with a signature coin that she flips? That's cool! That's like Shojo Protagonist, levels of cool with a capital C!

But Amity? My beloved, my darling, my sweet? She is not capable of being THAT cool, not intentionally, let alone unintentionally. I'm sorry.

Amity is always holding something, but it's not a coin or a chip; it's a button—a large, probably plastic or wood, vintage, textured button like these.

She enjoys running her thumb around its surface or passing it between her knuckles—she can even do a few tricks—which is impressive given that they have less weight than the average coin.

But Amity doesn't keep buttons for luck or to remember someone—they're more like a stim for her. You see, the sensation of holding a button in her palm or between her fingers and running her fingers over its surface is comforting, soothing even. It calms her (especially in unfamiliar, stressful situations) and helps ground her.

Hell—because of this habit, she's even started collecting buttons and has tins of them stored away in her home—each one with a story attached and fond memories!

Brief Personality: Was a pretty wild kid but ended up leveling out to compensate for Firebird and Rabia’s shenanigans. Don’t get her wrong, she’s down to cause chaos and a little arson, but she’s taken to covering their bases to make sure the consequences don’t get out of control. As a result, she’s considered the “Moral Compass” by outsiders- This couldn’t be more wrong but she goes with it. May runs the business side of Momma Dragon’s Babysitting Company and she handles a lot of the scheduling. She is clever and the second best strategist out of Firebird’s Crew and the Streetrats.

Brief Backstory: Grew up in Smithsberg, her father abandoned her mother, Maria, before May was born. Maria threw herself into the church and did everything she could to make sure May had a good childhood. She was a young single mother so it was important to her to set May up for a good life. When she was in middle school she got a bit rebellious and her and Rabia entered a bit of an alt-punk phase. This was when Firebird blew into town. At first everyone was hesitant about the new girl but May was assigned to show her around the school and pretty soon they hit it off. May, Rabia, and Firebird soon became close friends and nicknames popped up for them. They got in trouble, and Firebird would go missing for weeks at a time, only to come back with wild stories that seemed to change every time she told them. May was infatuated with the novelty of it all but was also hitting a point where she wanted more pocket money. So, she picked up some babysitting jobs. The other two started helping out, and pretty soon “Firebird’s Crew” were some of the most reliable babysitters in town, helped by the fact that Firebird’s Foster mother, the elderly Miss Trudy, was completely okay with running a daycare out of her home. Things scaled and the business was thriving and well established by the time it was time for May to go to college, which she did part-time to get her business management degree. A good portion of what was supposed to be her college fund went into the business and earned itself back before she could get in trouble for doing something so foolish.  May also had a few partners before the Crew realized their relationship wasn’t exactly platonic.

Hello! I'd like to ask for a music match please :)

My pronouns are they/him (he/him preferred atm), I'd like to get matched for Gabriel (I headcanon him as trans, and that he's insecure about his face a little bit so he wears the helmet! I think it's lovely)

I... Don't entirely know where to start. On the positive, I'm a big fan of music, I love art, I looooove machines. I really wish I was one; the kind of vibes I would give would be immaculate.

I'm big into like, either the most sopping wet pathetic men imaginable, or women who could probably like, crush my skull or something. Don't know why.

On the negative, I've got DID (two alters but they almost never show up), really bad memory loss & migraines, and a complete lack of understanding of myself. Each new day is like learning I'm a different person all over again, and I kind of mold to the people around me, but this is getting better with help.

Additionally, I'm very insecure and I've got a bit of a savior complex. I love dark themes in media, but need a happy ending or I'll cry. I need a good amount of validation or I'll totally fall apart (once again, also getting better with help!!!), but I'm very open & communicative about my needs and willing to negotiate things with people.

I love music with themes of rebellion and attitude, and I love a good story about sticking it to the man and going your own way. In media, I've always loved seeing stories of tragic heroes falling at their own hands but being swept up by someone stronger and sturdier than them, even if it's just for the moment. I've seen myself in the weak one, and I've always wanted to be the strong one.

I've always wanted to save someone from the same situation I was in when I was young, and that's carried onto my adult life. I think this carries into my taste of music and partners; I can't handle anything too happy, or it feels fake. There are very few people who I comfortable with being overly positive towards me.

My life is almost defined by labels. Without them, I would feel lost. I wouldn't be able to just point to a section of the DSM-V and go "oh, right there, that's me."

Silly note, I am mad autistic and start crazy stimming and squealing whenever I hear either a honking bicycle horn, or the KLING of a coin as it's being flipped. I also like to gnaw on things, I'm the guard dog of my friends, and I constantly flip between insanely high-energy and insanely low-energy.

Til We Run Out Of Air - Hatchie a song for the saviour complex in you. ultimately about hope after dark times, this is sure to prompt a happy daydream/scenario or two. this song also has parts alluding to self worth issues, which as previously mentioned could be applicable to either of you. true connection and compassion untied to his performance of his duties or role in Heaven is something Gabriel is truly unfamiliar with, but now he has you. you're here for the ups and downs, not keen to give up on him so quickly. "to spend your whole life as your enemy such a crime"

3. Lovesong - The Cure seeing Gabriel struggle with emotions/feelings you similarly have delt with, you recognise and empathise with him in a way that was never provided for him before. i feel this song could apply both ways, your love and care give him the motivation to continue to find his own purpose and worth, and for you he would provide the same compassion in return. as you mentioned appreciating validation the repeated admissions of love could once again go both ways, depending on how you feel at the it might help to imagine this is him talking to you, or you to him. "whenever i'm alone with you you make me feel like i am whole again"
