❧ Army of Me - Bjork Technically this is not what the song is about at all, but there are great dystopian horror vibes here if you want them. Something awful happening while "You're on your own now / We won't save you" plays.

❧ Pitch the Baby - Cocteau Twins Potential Askani Clan vibes?? There's something here, I know it. (The direction I always go in for Askani vibes is Cocteau Twins and Bjork; this song just happens to be particularly catchy.)

❧ rise - Origa Peak "soldier savior from the future" vibes. (Great options all across the Ghost in the Shell franchise, really.)

❧ Bat Out of Hell - Meatloaf "According to Irene, if any one song described Cable, it was Meatloaf's 'Bat Out of Hell.'" This is an actually insane thing from canon and I love it. This song is cool and reckless and corny and exciting and wholehearted and I can fuck with that. Ridiculous. On a similar note, I can't lie, I have Blinded By the Light by Manfred Mann's Earth Band and Holy Diver by Dio on my Cable playlist, too.

❧ I wanted some distinctly schlocky "soldier savior from the future" songs on the playlist because that felt right. His design is so fun. There's a layer to it all that's colorful and shameless. The Nexus and Digital World by Amaranthe, Veil of Elysium, End of Innocence, and Revolution by Kamelot, Star of the Age by Shearwater, Blow Me Away by Breaking Benjamin, Utopia by Within Temptation.

❧ Style - Foster the People brazenness

❧ BLOODMONEY - Poppy I enjoy this just as a ~vibes~ song for potential futures where Cable is evil. (War!Cable, overrun-by-TO!Cable, etc.) There's probably a SOPHIE song out there that would be perfect for this as well.

❧ A Bad Dream - Keane War grief. I think of a story he recounts somewhere in the 90s about trying to save an enemy combatant...
