Something incredibly satisfying about knowing your craft and the confidence that goes with it. Just the casual “yeah I could make that”. Want a band tee? Yeah I can embroider my own with the lyrics I want. Bridesmaid dress too long? Yeah I can hem it. Need new slippers? Yeah I can crochet a pair (and give them bunny ears). And of course it’s not perfect but nothing beats that feeling of being able to craft your own solution with your own two hands

I'm just imagining getting Simon to take better care of himself. Which includes using actual cleanser instead of scrubbing his face with dish soap to get the eyeblack off, using proper moisturizer so his face doesn't get so itchy under the mask, and treating his acne. Salicylic acid proves to be not enough, so you show him how to use benzoyl peroxide. ("A little goes a long way, so I better not see this half empty tomorrow.")

And it's working! His skin is looking better and he even seems pleased about it!

Eventually he's called for a mission and you send him off with his skin care, making him promise to use it, and to get home safe.

24 hours later your phone pings in Simon's special ringtone. You hurry to check the message. And burst out laughing at the picture of his mask laying on the bed, face print bleached orange from the benzoyl peroxide.

Another message pings, this time from Johnny, a picture of Simon looking confused with his bleached mask on.

🌻 here's my entry for the second week of the @tmntfashioncompetition ! the theme this time was traditional clothing and I immediately knew I wanted to do something relating to my korean culture haha

I'm going against the lovely @tizeline for this one!!

this was supposed to take place in the Joseon Dynasty, but when researching the type of hanbok people wore back then it was kinda hard finding accurate information 😭 so I just went with what I thought would suit them :]

some fun facts about this drawing under the cut! ^^

I hc that donnie would infiltrate the schools to become an astounding scholar, so when he comes home he teaches his brothers what he learned ^^ he's wearing a dopo (도포), which was what confucian scholars wore back then!

mikey's wearing a child's hanbok (한복), which are more colorful than adult ones. so technically speaking, leo and donnie should be wearing one too, but I felt that leo would want to copy don haha. plus, they all still see mikey as the baby of the group 😁

raph's wearing a gat (갓), and this is kinda where it was hard to find accurate info.. it's known that when someone wears a gat with their hair in a topknot, it signifies marriage, but other sources said that it also signifies when a child has transitioned into adulthood. either way, it represents pride, dignity, and status, so I figured I might as well add it.

and since this takes place in the Joseon period, I thought it'd be nice to have raph copying a page of the Hunmninjeongeum (혼민정음), which was a document introducing the invention of the early korean language ^^

and last but not least, the table is inspired by the one my grandparents own :]

i am thinking how much poorer, how much less colorful the world would be if art was only made by "professionals." if all the music, all the stories, all the sketches & paintings & craftwork of the world was created only by the small category of people able to make a decent living from their art. imagine if the only people allowed to create were the experts & the renowned & those aspiring to the top. what a grey world that would be. how much joy would be bleached away! i love you people who create for the sake of creating, i love you artists who do art for tiny audiences, i love you people who make things even just for one person, even just for themselves, even if no one's watching, thank you thank you thank you for decorating the world in which we all exist
