meeks: also big on video essays. tunes in big time to mina le and d'angelo wallace. sometimes to sleep he'll turn on lectures in the background but then won't fall asleep cause he gets too engaged and genuinely wants to listen

pitts: 80% video game run throughs. markiplier is basically his dad. his favorites are undertale and silent hill. the other 20% of his home page is blackpink music videos/concert clips/interviews

cam: the most random videos of all time. a series of 2-7 minute videos that he thinks are hysterical and everyone else is just vaguely confused by. watches every daniel thrasher video religiously

i really hope joana callo does more the next season 😭 this one felt more focused on the cinematography than the story??? we gotta send some telepathic messages to storer man cant keep going like this

my bad for letting this get lost in my inbox. See I 100% get this perspective but I think the way this season was directed was intentional! the plot didn't feel like it moved forward because Carmy didn't move forward at all. If anything Carmy regressed! Now I do have to say I don't like how this season was promoted. The trailers and the teasers do not feel like an accurate depiction of the story. They highlighted clips of syd and carm in the trailers when they were not the focus of the season. In particular they edited the one clip where carmy says "if it's not perfect it doesn't go out" to look like he was talking to sydney when he wasn't . literally over half of the trailer was just clips from episode one and two! the rest is mostly episode three with other clips sprinkled it. I think all of us can agree episodes 1-3 are not an accurate depiction of the vibes of this season 💀

so i guess my issue isn't really the season as a whole, it's the way that it was originally presented as something it wasn't. I mean, Jeremy said this season "has a lot more joy" in it, when I think it's the most devastating season. Jeremy baby, if this season is what joy is to you, then I'm concerned about your definition of joy.

Oh my god, I love talking about Skam so it's your fault I got carried away and this got long.

YES, Nell Cattrysse (Bobbie) is insanely beautiful, both girls are in fact but that's no surprise because Skam has a talent for finding these supermodels for their roles, I remember seeing the Norwegian version as a teenager and being speechless at how beautiful Noora was. But anyway, I'm glad you liked the seasons!! I love knowing that someone else liked it, because it's my favorite series ever and I don't have any friends who watch it to talk about it. I can't judge you for going for the gays seasons, I think you're absolutely right actually. Time is precious and we must always prioritize queers' narratives. In the Spanish version, I think it was the intention that the couple (Nora and the toxic guy whose I don't remember name) gave us the ick, she would only be with Alejandro (the William of this version) at the end, and I heard something about the directors having decided on the narrative of an abusive relationship for Nora precisely because Norway William was toxic and the relationship was not well worked on. It was a dig at the original, I would say. In the end, none of the straight couples really interest me in almost any version. For me, the best Vilde to date is from NL Skam, she was very sweet and I feel so bad that she never got her own season. Druck's Vilde (Kiki) has the most striking personality and was very shippable with Mia (Noora in this version). MY BABY JOANA I HAVE NOTHING BUT PRAISES ABOUT HER - I can hardly believe she had a happy ending that didn't ignore the difficulties of her illness. And she was so beautiful in the extra scenes, it was so special. And I think we all have problems with Skam France, right? I still can't believe that of all the couples, the sapphics were the ones they separated. It was really frustrating. Good thing fanfics exist.

NOW SPEAKING OF WANDA -

I didn't think of an exact plot for these rewritten scenes; they are just one-shots really. Reader replaces Vision in the story and that's it - In one of them I mention that Reader is on the other side of the world being stitched back together giving the idea that the original was really dead but I didn't really think about any plot. We can pretend that Y/N is a representation of Wanda's love and grief created by the stone as Vision was, it is really the choice of whoever is reading. If I'm ever going to do a series about Wandavison, I'll definitely start from scratch and ignore these ones haha

I need to get this off my chest,

After learning that Bobbie's actress is only 17 years old, I did get a little... uhm... irked by the sex scene from this season. Like, no problem doing sex scenes with minors, I understand why it's pertinent in skam. But if you look at the sex scene between Kieu My and Fatou in Druck (skam Germany), theirs was very passionate and real but it wasn't anywhere near as graphic as Bobbie and Anaïs'. What do you think about that?

It's a delicate subject I think. So I think the actors in skam France were also 17 (Maya X Lola) - or Lola was at least, and I thought their sex scene was very graphic but done with a lot of respect I think and it was both actors who decided how to shoot the scenes if I remember correctly from an interview. Though it did make me a little uncomfortable knowing their age. And Kieu my and fatou's was a lot more subtle and not as graphic so it made sense and I don't think I needed more as a viewer.

To be quite honest with you, and this is just me, I didn't like the way they have done the sex scene for anobbie and I've only watched it the once as I would have preferred a more love scene rather than sex scene if that makes sense?

My favourite skam wlw couple is Chris x Joana and they didn't even have a sex scene and I was totally fine with that as the story was still clear and they gave us beautiful morning after clips instead.

Getting off track sorry -- I respect the actors and at the end of the day I dont think they would agree to shoot a scene that they're not comfortable with.

Speaking for myself, this is the part where I struggle personally as I'm not a teenager anymore and feel uncomfortable watching sex scenes knowing the actors are under 18. That doesn't mean that if you or anyone else reading this should feel the same, this is just my personal feeling. Anon, you've given me a tough question here, but I wanted to give my own opinion here as you asked about my thoughts.

At the end of the day, skam is following teenagers and their journey through their lives and I do think it's important to show that journey with all the different paths it entails and the one thing that's important to me is that the actors are comfortable with what they are creating. I prefer an emotional connection on screen rather than physical. Chemistry is what I find more exciting and others might prefer the other way around.

I mean in a positive note I didn't really like how we got the endgames we had.

Like skam Spain, the reconciled in the clip before the final ans in the joana appeared in a like minute of a whole 11minute clip where they focused in every other character besides the main.

Skam fr s6 we don't talk s9. Ngl they were my obsession but watching now... and lookmg the screen time of bobbie. They really developed maylaa relationships with only almost a clip per episode lol. Ans in the end also they reconciled before the final clip and that's it. And then when we thought we could get them acting cute in the background we'll... we know what happened

Druck. Kieutou..man of the three they were the most developed in terms of the relationship building like we got some cute scenes but I feel we could have resolved their problem before so we could have more cute relationship scenes. Although they delivered in content in the next seasons.

So I feel like actors even tho they're happy with the endgames can be critical and judge the process of getting there. The thing is, is that with this cast they're more vocal about, the criticism I mean, like even with some likes ans things she said, you can tell adas actress is also not completely happy how her season when although they didn't deliver endgame right there but the writers are clearly implying she's gonna get back together with noah

Oh yeah, totally, the cast is allowed to criticise the show if they want to, and i also have a lot of criticism for this season lol, but also I don't want to go based on the casts likes, because I don't want to gwt them into trouble, if it makes sense, like with Laura and the space situation

So for Spanish sign language class we occasionally need to do signdancing as an assignment, and this last time I asked the prof if I could interpret a scene instead. She was cool with it, so I asked a friend to do it with me. Initially we were going to do a movie, but it’s pretty hard to find movie clips on youtube with just two characters that speak the same amount more or less.

So then I sent him a few eskam clips because I didn’t know what else we could find on youtube that would work. I sent him:

The scene where Joana and Cris fight at the park, the cocksucking fight scene (s2).

The scene where Cris comes out to Amira (s2).

The scene where Nora tells Miquel to get professional help (s3).

Amira and Dani’s final break up scene (s4). 

The thing is, he didn’t just look over the clips to check if we had about the same amount of dialogue, but actually engaged with one of them. He said Miquel seemed like a pìece of shit, and wanted to know if Miquel actually posted the pics he was talking about in the clip.

And so I thought I might as well watch the whole show with him. 😂 I’m actually pretty intrigued what he’ll make of the seasons, esp s4 as he’s Chinese-born and has 3 sisters. I of course have wondered whether it’d be better if eskam had finally included a girl of Chinese descent as they planned on doing (this girl would’ve been Sana, as they had issues casting Amira). But with how shit s4 is at dealing with cultural and ethnic diversity, I’m not sure our friendship could survive if that season hit a bit tooooo close to home (for legal purposes this is a joke... or is it??). 

Anyway in the end we decided to go with Cris coming out to Amira, and I will sign for Amira and he will sign for Cris.

some thoughts about the Joana POV clips:

honestly, these two weeks of Joana POV clips reminded me of why Eskam has been my favorite Skam remake. the writing, the continuation of fully-realized and developed storylines, and the care for the characters is all evident. as @inmyarmswrappedin has said before, it feels like a tonal shift with each new POV, and Joana’s POV has brought me back to the Eskam of old.

it was a good balance of fan service (cute Crisana moments), resolved questions (the significance of Joana’s necklace), and the culmination of a three season long exploration into mental illness and its effects on relationships. i often felt as if the presence of the Evaks in the other remakes leaned heavily on being fan service alone, without exploring how mental illness continues to shape the relationship. aside from some moments of drama (cough*Skam France*cough), i haven’t really gotten that insight into the insecurities, the growth, and the evolution of the Evaks until now.

i also felt like the Joana POV did not cut into or add unnecessary drama into Amira’s season like Lucas’s POV (and to a smaller extent, Alejandro’s POV) did. maybe because it felt like the right balance between fan service and continuation their story, but also because Amira was a significant part of Cris’s season, so it feels right to come full circle in a way.

Irene and Rizha have such great chemistry, and their acting has been excellent throughout the series overall. i also feel like we have come to a natural conclusion as to Joana’s POV. i would love seeing more of Joana generally, especially because i think her friendship with Amira is so cute, but i feel content with this POV resolution.

and finally i’m left feeling bittersweet because we could have had this care and writing all season long, instead of sheer moments of brilliance followed by real head-scratchers of plot lines.

about eliott's side plot and skam france. confirmation comes from a conversation with nrk. years ago someone posted an ss on twt. anyway, there are no rules against side plots, cameo's, etc, only about individual seasons. eliott had a side plot in lola's season, david made an appearance in s7 of druck, joana had pov clips in s4, there are always loopholes.
