2023 writing gif-making round up
Rules (adapted for fic, gifs, art, etc.): Share what you made this year! It can be works you posted to Ao3, Wattpad, Tumblr, or anywhere else! You can share everything you made or just the projects you're most excited about.
tagged by @victoriaspriing thank you!!!
2024 is just around the corner, so unbelievable to me. it feels like no time has passed since the beginning of 2023. i was thinking, hm it doesn’t feel like i’ve made many gifs this year, but then i went looking back at all my favorite gifsets i made and i was pleasantly surprised to see quite a significant amount. my goal for 2024 is to create more gifsets, to share with the fandom and most importantly to let the creativity flow. okay, but i’m here to reflect on my gifsets from this year, so let’s get into that shall we? i’ll share some fun statistics and then my top 5 gifsets from this year, and totally copying joana here but i’ll also give a shoutout to my favorite creators who not only inspire me but make this fandom wonderful with their creations <3
fun statistics
in total i made 188 gifsets in 2023
99 are about louis (*pretends to be shocked*)
50 are about harry
10 are larry
4 are ot5
1 about samia
1 about soyoon
the rest are 911 lone star, stranger things, only friends and first kill
28 (!!!) are elaborate gifsets
44 are or include purple
4 are about faith in the future
top 5 gifsets (in no particular order)
louis birthday gifset this has to be my favorite gifset i’ve made this year. i had so much fun making it, from trying a different color i’m not used to, to using new effects i hadn’t had the chance to try. everything came out as i had envisioned and it makes me so happy. i gotta say by the end of it i was tired. i think i spent a total of 10 hours on it, but it was so worth it
faith in the future anniversary gifset okay so this one was originally going to be blue and yellow, but the first gif (the one with the tv) wasn’t looking good, so i just did what i do best, make it purple and yellow. i’m glad i did, because not only do i love that combo, but i think it looks great. i had this vague concept of what i wanted to do. i knew i definitely wanted to include the spotify template. from there i just did what i felt in the moment. the edit with the tracklist was originally going to be in the form of a google search, but it looked so bad, so i just went for something more simple, which ended up looking so much better. the last edit was the second to last one. i was thinking, how can i include fitfwt into it? that’s when i realized i had a combination of one gifset, one edit, one gifset and one gifset, so i added one edit in the middle of the last two gifsets to create that pattern. i took my favorite louis picture from tour and just did a quick edit. with this one, less was better, and i’m very proud of how it came out
hlholidayexchange gifset i absolutely adore this one. the prompt was anything with 2014 larry. i had a very clear concept for this one. polaroids showing them together. while looking for videos i just gravitated towards their night changes performance, especially the prince and little one with the cheekbones, so that’s what i did. i was apprehensive about the blending, as it’s something i struggle with, but personally i think i did good. there’s always room for improvement, but i’m satisfied with it. the colors came to me right at the end, a combination of some of my favorite colors that are close together in the color wheel, so they look good together. it’s simple, but effective :)
louis tomlinson tinder this one was so fun to make. i especially loved coming up with hobbies and activities that describe louis. i knew i wanted to include numerology because this boy is obsessed with numbers and you can’t tell me he isn’t into numerology. as for the matches, i included his husband people who he’s potentially had a crush on based on interactions and interviews. i also love how the colors came out, i think it looks very pretty
harry’s house anniversary i love this one so much. i had a very clear concept of what i wanted to do. the cutout of the pictures plus the lyrics looked so much fun and i had a great time putting it together, and i just love the spotify template. i think everything about it is very pretty. the colors, the scenes, all of it. the only thing that makes me sad is how the video for daylight came out way later so i couldn’t include it, but other than that i love it so so much
bonus!!! this is louis tomlinson a very fun, very pleasant edit. i remember just wanting to do a gifset highlighting some aspects of louis and his career. i wanted something semi simple and visually appealing, so i did the google search overlay and from there just basic layouts. i had a lot of fun making it
shoutout to my faves!!!
@delicatepointofview @heroeddiemunson @wylanvannecks @505louis @anxiouspunk @ricky-olson @vinmauro @raypakorn @victoriaspriing @birthdaysentiment @robin-buckleys @perrieedwards @margarethcarter @neil-patrick @bobbiedebruyn @braverytattoos @justthinkingaboutlouis @loustyles @kiwikiwiandkiwi @finexbright @zourried @seatawinans @mcbride @jdeanmorgan @morgana-pendragon @niccolofares @sci-fi @benoitblanc @saw-x @binariesuns @oliviairodrigo @annacoleman @aliecenthightower @nelsonnicholas @curlyhairedprince @padme-amidala
sorry if i’m forgetting anyone. if you’re a gifmaker assume i love your gifs. tagging the people above and anyone else who happens to see this and wants to do it. no pressure!!!

I’m trying to work on the deck, but it’s incredibly loud because of power tools and now there’s a helicopter. They seem to have altered the path to the hospitals because they are coming very low overhead. These are not the small traffic helicopters. Also, I feel tired when the connection fades, but then I feel empty when you’re busy. Different sensations. When I feel empty, I have no focus. I can force myself to watch football because I can watch the technique and the tactics, which means ignoring what is said and trying to see past the camera choices designed to keep you from focusing closely on what is actually happening. The problem I have with baseball is not the game, which has finally improved itself, but the way the game is called hypes it up more than the game needs. I don’t need to see a good play at 3rd labeled great when it’s a standard part of the job to be able to come in on a ball, bend to get it in the glove, then transfer the ball to your throwing arm while maintaining the position to approach the ball while aligning the body to throw accurately. That’s a long description but that’s a standard play. A more difficult play requires you to change the body position so then you need to get the ball, transfer and adjust to the throwing position much more than when you’re close to dead on. Remember, the 1st basemen has range and you know that. A great play is when you dive, and need to get up into the correct position to throw the ball. With 3rd, it’s literally taught that you approach the ball so you pick up up bending when you can, because you’re in a race you can see against the runner heading to first, and you want to pick it up over the correct foot or knee so the next move transfers the ball into the throwing position. It’s mechanics you learn as a kid. Like at 1st, you’re taught not to touch the bag and reach, because your main job is to keep the ball from going to the stands or worse into the outfield so the runner makes 2nd and maybe runs come in. If you stand and reach, you can’t move as far. In the old days, you were taught to step your foot back, then take it off, then set it back when appropriate, which is when you can see the throw coming and you can read where it is going.
So that is Joana describing her observations of how the game works. How do I know? There’s a mechanics at the root. This mechanics acts as a chain for the reasons set forth last note. It bears further explication: the mechanics create a 1-0Segmenting and that has Ends, and these Ends have other potential Attachments because each End has a flailing arm with the D0 point at it End. When these D0 unite, that makes D1 and we’re off to the races.
I think this argument may be JvN’s because it sounds like him. That’s the label I associate to that accent in my head. And it’s about the creation of a base level to a universe, which unites linear algebra and sets in a way I think he really liked doing. It’s that sense of play too. The seriously unseriously serious, perhaps.
That is, we put together 2D0 and get a D1. That arm is then invisible, meaning we see the D1 when it’s actually a D0 connected to another D0 over an arm of unit length. It’s unit length because it counts 1 or 0 at the Ends. Don’t think of that as an actual length but as every length within the constraints that any length may be considered finite. It is here that we locate the relation between the infinite and the finite, and thus of limits and the like. As in, when we count 1+1 in the specific manner that generates e, we see that takes this very basic idea of a unit length and states that this unit length equals 2.71828, etc. You can see where it goes: replace the connecting link between the 2D0’s with e and the space with which that calculates, which means the way it mechanically operates, is then with and using that extent to define the D1.
(As an observer to this, having read a lot of mathematics over many years while she put together the pieces, the mathematics here is beautiful. The depth and clarity is almost astonishing.)
I am being told to skip ahead for a moment because we have an opportunity to discuss structure. We now have an End we can see, and it has a basis hidden within it that is there which maybe we can’t see or which maybe is obvious because of the context the End is in and what it looks like. The character of that End is what? Remember, these are the ideals. Can you please take over? The transition from observer to Jo is sometimes rough. You forgot that functions like e are available. That gives the potential for different measurements using different forms.
Just had a panic attack. Not a big one but I am suddenly afraid.
Structure shakes when describing structure. In this case, we have an orthogonal relationship to the End and to the visible sheet on which the exists. We know that because if we tilt it to one side, we see points. It’s only an End when it simplifies to this very simple form. That enables this ideal to be available in any orientation or direction because each of those has this End form.
The orthogonal in this case is the length of the Extent, which is the count of the 1-0Segments which construct the whole Extent as a 1-0Segment. This is where gs primes appear along with other modular forms. You can see how the conception of 1 expands orthogonally to any prime. You can see how any count of 1-0Segments generates modularity across the entire 1-0Segment, which remember is bounded by the D0’s.
Note please this is literally 1-0-1 and 0-1-0. You can see the prime as the 1 and the D0’s as the 0’s. And the other way round.
This orthogonal is the root orthogonal, meaning the orthogonal across a grid square becomes orthogonals at the axis lines of 1 and root2. You can now see that more specifically: the hypotenuse counts as 1 and thus as a 0, and that 1 expands, same as when you extend a field, so the 2Square level appears crosswise to the 1Square level if you imagine them as panels standing up on the projected lines. That makes a field of X’s which are crossed 2Squares that connect at each other corner to panels, to a continuous sheet of 1Squares.
Yes, I remember, we saw that this morning. We saw the panels around a box drawn by the F-M-F-M loop that translates within each of 2T. And then we saw the end panels take on the specific meaning of the insides and the outsides as those both tether. That generates the gs pyramid, which now has a base of a grid box that counts in units so it can compress to a line or be however long. I have no idea why I couldn’t let you describe the visions without holding back. It seems silly now, but I remember putting up a fight. Remember, this articulate End has to attach to the inarticulate visioning part of the visionary. Same method.
That X of 2Squares enables Halving and Doubling. It’s obvious in the image: you have 1 and 1 and 1 and 1 all connected to a single pole that is root2 high. This generates - I’m having trouble here picking up the connection because the image is ambiguous. The flash was that this makes 0Space in full, that it constructs R^n and that is an important reason why. Oh, I see: same ideas as before, that the construction is a unit. It’s R this time.
That needs to be discussed. I can define R better now, but I’m not sure it’s done. That is, we now clearly have the algebraic numbers, and because these are roots, we have the polynomials that relate in the same exact process to those roots. That leaves transcendentals which aren’t. Big examples like Pi and e are gs processes. That is the piece which needs more thought.
—————
I think I found it and the connection is one of the incredibles. As in, Alexander Gelfond, which I can’t type without it autocorrecting to Gelfand, which is my mother’s father’s name, one of our 4 family names, along with Weine/Wanger. The connection is that 2 raised to root2 is transcendental. That’s H/D in action because gs generates the 2^n form: count out from a 2Square using the same method, and that’s 2^n. It is a 1Space calculation using 0Space, and that is what makes it transcendental. That is mechanics at work. It becomes really obvious when you look at the generalization to addition of natural logs equaling 0. Think about what this means: it cancels the space created by the unit e used in one calculation with another. The exact construction is more complicated, but the idea is growing clear: that which combines 1Space with 0Space and that which is 1Space counting.
How do these map? Well, 1Space counting is counts over gs, like Alternation to count Pi or any other manipulation of these units across a sheet. 0Space is orthogonal. I’m having trouble here. Need help.
I see the units counting across and the complexity that arise relative to that sheet. The orthogonal complexity I can see separately. Connection is fraying. I’m seeing that it maps to szK because it must because that’s the real line: it counts both forms. That finally makes sense. That outward translation had to overcome a lot of resistance to get out. It’s a very complicated image now but I’m seeing Ends appear for each transcendental, and that is clearly uncountable, but they fit to the line because it has infinite room for Ends. That may be the problem: the idea of uncountable on the line, mapped ordinally and cardinally, means infinite infinite D0-1//D1-0. That is the mechanics.
She’s really good at this. I wish I were easier to work with at this End of that chain.

What is Hybrid App Development and How are Hybrid apps developed?
Tumblr media
Application or app development refers to the art of building apps for variou devices and platforms. There is web app development, mobile app development and hybrid app development, each have their own distinct characterstics making them equally important in tech world.
Hybrid App Development is a field which is perhaps most interesting because of its unique functions. Therefore, it is necessary to learn what are Hybrid Apps, and how are they made.
What are the Hybrid Apps?
Joana Almeida defines Hybrid App Development as a “methodology that revolves around building an app with single project using a framework that can target all platforms”.
The developers create one single code base that will be used for an app on all platforms and this makes it much easier to develop than the native apps which makes it a popular choice for the developers.
Hybrid App frameworks
Hybrid apps use many frameworks depending upon the requirements of the developer like Flutter, React Native, Unity and many more which are discussed in detail below.
React Native
It was released by Facebook and is a multiplatform development framework based on React. You can develop multi-user interface elements with JSX which are later linked to local code and transformed to Android or iOS local views.
Flutter
It is an open source framework by Google that uses its own programming language, Dart to give app to mobile, web plstforms and instilled devices.
Unity
Though it is mainly used for game development, it is a hybrid app development framework best suited for entertainment apps. It is one of the most flexible frameworks using which you can develop apps for Linux, Windows, iOS, Web, and Consoles.
Ionic
Ionic is used to develop mobile apps using HTML, CSS and JavaScript. It is easy to use, and sturdy and for  the front end it has built in AngularJS making it a much preffered option for front end developers.
Benefits of Hybrid Apps
Tumblr media
There are many benefits that come with this form of app development. Mixing technologies allows a developer more freedom to create apps suitable for all platforms and devices.
They are much more affordable than the native apps which is beneficial for any business. Not only on the monetary front but also from the performance point of view they are lightweight, and much more responsive.
Maintenance of codes has always been an issue that many have struggled with but with hybrid apps, a singular back end is able to power all of the apps and can also be updated quickly. This reduces the time and labor that was previously required to create separate back end for each platform that they supported.
Smooth and concurrent user experience is guaranteed in any hybrid app because users will experience same look and services of the brand on all platforms. This improves traffic and enhance the image of a brand.
How are Hybrid Apps developed?
The first step towards developing an app is selecting the right approach, tools, frameworks and technology stack.
Following this is the most crucial step that is development. It involves writing codes for Hybrid app, and it needs a cross platform tool like PhoneGap or Ionic to do this process. It includes UX/UI readiness, structure and function development.
Testing follows next. An app needs to be thoroughly tested before releasing in the market. At this stage the developers focus on erasing erros, adding more refined features and many other things before it is ready to be released.
Maintainance is an integral feature in this process. You need to continously evolve and upgrade the app as time passes by. Releasing new versions, keeping up with latest inventions and trends are all part and parcels Hybrid app development process.
Conclusion
Hybrid App Development has become more popular with advancement in app development. As there are more users who are using multiple devices to browse, it has created a need to develop applications which can be run onm multiplatforms with same performance quality and this is where Hybrid App Development comes into play.
More and more brands and app developers are moving towards this technology to keep up with the trends and requirements of the users. Its multifunctionality, flexibility, and global outreach has pushed it towards the top. You can create your own apps or have a developer to do that for you using Hybrid App development easily.

I’ve been thinking...
There's so much to extrapolate from the conceptualization of the Maralto and the Process. When I first watched 3%, I've noticed that the system was further explained and explored every season, each time showing a different layer.
First of all, it starts as being cartoonishly and sickly unjust.
However, for the entirety of Season 1, we only see the Process itself, and only a fraction of the actual life on the Inland. Although unjust, the whole trial feels functional to the plot. The Inland is shown as a grey and awful place where to live, so of course, we only root for the characters to pass all of the tests, or at least not to die trying.
It reminds me of certain criticisms aimed at stereotypical YA dystopian novels/movies, where the worldbuilding displays the society in it as generically unjust, but the characters are never shown truly struggling under the system.
Like in The Hunger Games, during the first season of 3%, the emphasis is less on fighting the system and more on getting out alive from the Process. It's a necessary step, being that it's the first season.
Secondly, in Season 2 the system starts becoming unfair.
It's slightly different than in the previous season, however, it's the first crack in the façade of the Maralto and starts showing how deeply human the system truly is.
Like I said in another post, Marcela considered giving Marco a second chance in passing the Process, because he's her son and she loves him, despite changing her mind in the end and prioritizing the Maralto's laws over him - after he failed another task. The OG Rafael tried to participate in the Process the same way his brother did one year earlier. André outright murdered his own mentor rather than losing the privilege he received in passing the Process. Not to mention the Founding Couple, who overthrew the entire society, causing countless people to die, to prevent their work from being stolen.
To sum up, in season 1 the Maralto can be reached only by one's own abilities and skills; in season 2, we're shown the collateral effects caused by this rule. The only point is not passing the Process, as much as getting to the Maralto, with any possible shortcut. Season 2 is all about the core of the selfishness that comes with the existence of the Maralto.
Thirdly, during season 3 the Maralto is shown in all of its ineffectiveness.
It all revolves around the Concha, of course, and all of the changes that it brings.
We know from season 2 that the Maralto guarantees regular vaccinations to anyone under 20 years old, as usual because they're the only ones who still matter. Nothing is done, nevertheless, to truly help them out of the horrible circumstances they grow up in. The most we see is in season 1 when Ezequiel goes (mostly) out of his way to take care of Augusto (Julia's son; she said that she chose that name for him as soon as he was born), though until it puts at risk his place at the Maralto and as the head of the Process.
Otherwise, kids on the Inland grow up poor, abused, and helpless, with the only actual support coming from the Church, that indoctrinates into worshipping the Maralto. As long as everyone lives like this, they'll all want nothing more than passing the Process and leaving that hellhole. We see it with Joana in season 1 and with Glòria throughout all the series. Thinking about it, the vaccinations are probably only there to make sure no highly contagious illness arrives on the Maralto through the Process' candidates. Elìsa herself never cared that much about the Maralto, on the contrary she didn't see the point in such a stark division, but she too was given the choice to either live in misery or well enough.
Then Michele and Fernando found the Concha. As it's shown at the front door and in practice, everyone is welcome there, and people start having a second chance. Of course it threatens the Maralto's position at the top of society.
It reminds me of the workers' struggles in various countries. I don't remember where I read it, but it was someone joking that, in the 60s, once people started having a TV at home and eating meat more than once a week, the Communist Party started having fewer militants. This is what happens when people's demands and needs are actually met. The point was never the revolution itself; it's only a necessary step after the government refuses for so long to act to improve people's living conditions.
Similarly, on 3%, once people weren't starving or getting murdered and finally had the chance to live a fulfilling life, they wouldn't turn anymore towards the Process for it. Even the Causa disappeared, since the reason for its existence became less relevant.
Finally, in the last season, the Maralto has long been stripped of any greatness it could represent for viewers, and all that's left to see is an illusion.
Once again, Joana face-plants into this new trial when she meets Veronica, and all her resolution starts faltering. Rafael and Cassia find a common ground in the way either the Causa or the Maralto's military gave them both a purpose when passing the Process wasn't an option anymore. André believes himself as the right heir of the Founding Couple and kills himself rather than living without this idea, even when the Maralto itself is gone forever. The same happens to Marco, Leonardo, and Naìr when it's time to flee. Even Natalia, the most determined militant of the Cause, ready to give her life for it, momentarily opposes destroying the Maralto when she sees how much knowledge is stored in their archives.
All in all, everyone is offered their greatest desire when coming to the Maralto - a mother, a purpose, happiness, culture - and only finds lies when they get closer.
The Maralto never worked. Laìs and Vitòr themselves had miserable lives when they'd rather choose the system they created over their only daughter.
The point is, the system was human-made, with all of the faults that come with it, and just as readily could be unmade.
To conclude:
"We live in capitalism. Its power seems inescapable. So did the divine rights of the kings. Any human power can be resisted and changed by human beings." - Ursula K. Le Guin

The Harvest - RE8 fanfic
The Harvest
A Resident Evil 8 fan fiction by Joana
Notes: It is a headcanon of Karl Heisenberg x Female Reader. I will be uploading chapters' parts everyday and a new chapter will be out every tuesday. English is not my mother tongue, so sorry if there are any grammar mistakes. Please, feel free to enjoy hehe
NSFW content.
Part I – Destiny (1)
It had been a week since the encounter with the creature in the woods surrounding Karl Heisenberg’s lot. It wasn’t the weirdest event you have seen though, of course; you grew up in one of the cabins close to the Village, you, and your people, were way familiar to the rusty metal sounds, the night fogs and the guttural growls living in the forest around the houses. Because of that, one day, when they grew nearer, your people knew the time had come and you too would be absorbed by the Village, being lead – not to say forced – to worship Mother Miranda and her children.
At first, it was odd, the mood was mournful as if your own family had lost the brightness of joy in their irises. Everything there felt uncanny as there was a sweet and mistrusting mist in the air.
You have always known about Miranda and the four lords, but had never laid your own eyes on them. Until your 20s, they have been nothing but whispers in the distance, folk stories to scare the youngsters, so they wouldn’t go too deep in between the trees and their twisted thin branches.
As the months and then the years passed by, your people started making that place feel like home. Luiza, Urias and their own have been very kind and supportive to all of you, they’ve shown you their believes, their rituals and their daily life; in return, the cabin folk shared their knowledge on herbs, flowers and wild animals, which meant hunting instead of raising them. It worked out fine, anyway, you knew you couldn’t stay in the cabins forever, there would be a time when the Village would grow and it did.
To this extent, you felt comfortable, you actually started sharing a feeling of belongness, especially when it came to rituals and festivals. It was astonishing how the Village would gather, sing, dance, bake and eat on special dates – mostly agricultural calendar ones – and helping organizing it, putting up the decorations, the horns distributed in clothes-line, the red fabrics waving as flags on the ceilings, all of these things were very reassuring.
Years passed by and transformed you into a woman, you had your periods every month, the etiquette practices and the daily choirs such as baking and feeding the animals (now you had pigs and chicken to look after). This, however, bothered you, not the baking though, that made you happy, but you would much more appreciate to help your father and brother with the machinery and hunt with the men, which you did, only hidden, for sport maybe, until you improved your stealth and archery abilities so it became a part of you that you liked much more than singing by the lake while doing laundry with the wives, even though that too had its appeal – music always got the best of you, particularly when it came along with dancing.
About the hunt, you would sell it to Duke, the impartial merchant that comes every week. He is the best way to maintain a low-profile about your illegalities, once he also deals with prohibited materials.
Thinking of it, you believe it was fine, definitely bucolic, but you never expected more. And for your mitigation, you had never yet seen all of the lords face-to-face. Miranda came by at least once a month, but mostly spent her precious time with the Village leader. She usually went back to her lot afterwards. The others were… Well, different.
Lady Beneviento was an in-doors person, the only one who had constant contact with her was her groundskeeper who lived closer to her house. Lady Dimitrescu was only seen in her castles’ windows looking way distant and melancholic to anyone that far from her stand. Her daughters too never left the upright protective stone walls, no one knew why, neither bothered to find out. Sometimes girls from the Village would be sent to the castle in order to serve them as handmaiden, some of them came back on special dates, but never spent the night in the Village.
Lord Moreau was the only one who visited more frequently, usually fixing demands for his experiments. He never stayed too long, he probably sensed that the people had less interest on him than they had in the other lords, which kind of made you pity Lord Moreau; however, you never had the courage to speak to him anyway and it didn’t feel very possible to be friends with the lords.
The last one, Lord Heisenberg, you had only heard in the distance when exploring the Altar surroundings, hidden from the others once it wasn’t allowed to be there without a good motive. The villagers told you, sitting around the fire in windy twilights, that he used to wander around more decades ago. Back then most of your friends were kids and nowadays don’t remember him very well, just his temper as he tends to easily lose patience.
They don’t know what made him stay in his factory for so long, but through the time he has been recluse, some said the metal noises have risen as if he has been working to exhaustion on something. When they told you these stories, you hoped never to find out and feared The Harvest.
That was it for your historic with the lords, at least until three months ago when you turned twenty years old and The Harvest took place again. The 20s was a unique age for the villagers, it was when they would know for sure if they had been chosen by Mother Miranda for some position in her family’s choirs. If you were free, as you’d like to say, you should start thinking about your role in the Village, finding a partner and leaving your parents’ place, if not… You would serve, not sure exactly how.
For your absolute pleasure, your 20th birthday was the most beautiful ceremony you had ever attended while living in the Village. It made it easier. It wasn’t made only for you, but for all of the young people who were turning that age in that year, as it was traditional to have The Harvest.
The small town was all dressed in light colours, paper lamps gave the paths a magical blue aura, goat wood sculptures painted white were disposed here and there blessing the birthday boys and girls. Women wore lace Prussian blue dresses below the knees and men were in grey linen tunics. People commemorated in the area around The Maiden of War with gasps and smiles.
You were dazzling. Tradition demanded that the 20s wore white, almost transparent, clothes. It was supposed to show you emerging as a pure being into something else, finally you would be considered a part of the mundane world after two decades of only experimenting it.
The families were responsible for their children’s garment, so each one looked different and unique. In your case, your mother, Ana, made a ravishing job, one that you could only have dreamt of.
Ana sewed you a white mesh ruffle midi dress, almost off shoulder if it wasn’t for the thin straps that held it there. The down skirt’s fabric was tulle and in the breast area you had a lace to tighten it, the ruffle there also worked on hiding your boobs, so you wouldn’t feel completely naked, only your nipples would show due to Fall’s weather.
After celebrating throughout the afternoon with wine, fresh pies, music and the villager’s affection for you and all the 20s being demonstrated, the night fell upon the Village and the oil lamps were lite, they started dancing in your vision like phantasmagorical illusions, inviting you to follow the way they headed. You didn’t fully understand back then, but it probably was Beneviento’s work.
Your heart throbbed immediately, the euphoria peaking your skin, making you feel electric. Maybe you were drugged, maybe a bit drunk, that didn’t matter, once what mattered was that you were absolutely surrendered by the moment. It felt almost like gluttony, the atmosphere made you want more of whatever there was to so deeply desire.
Attending the call, one by one, the 20s started walking towards the ceremony site were their parents, Mother Miranda and the four lords should be waiting for them. That year there were twelve of them, one more than last year, equally divided between men and women.
Even though it was prohibited for any villager, besides Luiza and Urias, to go past the area of the Altar, you knew where you were heading, you have explored every inch of the Village, quietly, never daring to talk about it with someone. On The Harvest, though, you were being guided. A magnificent deer appeared in front of you, it moved slowly, unafraid of your presence, he glanced at you and walked towards the site. You couldn’t help, but following it, somehow you were sure it would lead you to a pleasant event.
Past the gate and there they were, the four lords all together for the first time in your live. Strangely, you felt seduced more than scared, maybe it was the deer spells, maybe something else made you feel welcomed. The night was your wonderwall and nothing bad could happen to you.

Top 5 joana quotes?
this is so much longer than you asked for, but to be fair, you did ask me about joana. in no particular order:
1. “And what did you think? That I’ll be there for a while, they’ll give me some pills and that’s it. Just like magic, I’d be cured. Perfect. It doesn’t work like that Cris. It’s not an on or off switch, do you get it? This is part of me. This is happening now, and it’ll always happen.” (S4E07)
2. “It feels like this whole time I’ve been gone. I stood still, and everyone around me moved on. I feel kind of lost.” (S4E06)
3. “You know when I had impulses? Or when my mood just changes? Like when I left your house that way for example [...] I have an illness, a mental illness. It’s called BPD. It means Borderline Personality Disorder. And, I don’t know. I didn’t want to tell you because when I’m fine, I think I’m normal. But I drink and smoke and I know I shouldn’t.” (S2E07)
4. “How can you know what’s the fucking worst? Until it happens to you, it’s impossible to know. That’s why when someone says, “I love you so much, I’m going to be with you my whole life! In the good, the bad and the fucking worst.” It’s hard to trust. Because, they say that without knowing. It’s impossible for them to know what the fucking worst is.” (S2E06)
5. “Well, I think it’s a love story. But not your typical, cheesy Hollywood story with a happy ending, no. It’s a complicated love story, between complicated people. When you love somebody, you suffer. You suffer if they ignore you, if they’re not with you.” (S2E01)
I like the first three because España has always been very clear it’s wanted Joana to always speak for herself when it comes to her BPD, so I love hearing how Joana is feeling, and her experiences with BPD from Joana herself.
I love number four and five because they’re kind of foreshadowing for their relationship. number four because joana clearly fears that cris is going to leave once she realizes that this relationship isn’t what she first expected. little does she know cris really will stick around “for the fucking worst”, number five is obvious, the entire idea of dangerous liaisons in season 2 foreshadows a lot of their relationship.
BONUS (because they’re not said by Joana, but they’re to Joana):
1. “If I have to give up ten amazing weeks with you, just to avoid one shitty week, then no, I don’t avoid anything.” (S4E07)
2. *Insert the whole minute by minute speech here* (S2E10)
3. “Maybe we don’t have to take things minute by minute anymore. We could do it day by day. That’s an improvement, right?” (S4E07)
i love these quotes from cris because not only do the ones from season four show how far she’s come, but they show how much cris really does love and support joana. joana hearing that cris would never give up their relationship to avoid a fight of theirs probably means a lot to her, as did hearing that she is improving, even if joana can’t see it.
as well, joana being an even that’s able to move from minute by minute to day by day shows the improvements she’s made as a person, and cris wants joana to realize the improvements she’s made with herself.
EXTRA BONUS:
“Well, that’s what falling in love is about, right? It happens and you never know how long it’s going to last. I mean, there are other people thinking about their partners the same you’re thinking about Joana. Think about it. The Cris from two months ago had no idea she was going to fall for someone.” (S2E08), Amira to Cris

hello you probably already talked about this but why did you drop robbe season?
Hi anon! 🧩 I have mentioned it before, yeah, but I don’t mind talking about it in a bit more depth.
Admittedly Robbe’s season was already a hard sell for me before it even premiered. I have watched every Eva season, and that has always given me an indication of how things are going to go for the Isak season. Like, even though remake teams tend to go all out for their Isak season, and try harder than with their previous seasons (and I don’t think it’s controversial to say remake teams know their Isak season will majorly increase their viewership, even fandom has pointed this out as a reason Skam NL should’ve stuck it out for VDH’s season), you can already get a good idea in s1 about what they want to keep from Skam and where they’re going their own way.
I love Eva and I also tend to like her remakes. Honestly, I find Eva’s story really interesting, Jonas a good character when handled well, and I’ve generally enjoyed getting introduced to yet another iteration of the girl squad. I like the familiarity of the story beats. I also think how Jonas’ ideas are handled is a good indicator of how politically minded the team is, and how they plan on using their platform.
And the thing is, despite all this, I found Jana’s season a struggle to get through. I had to try twice because I couldn’t get through the first time. At first, I thought it was because the writers had been super lazy with the adaptation. I loathe what they did with Jonas’ character, how little Jens knows about social justice. I was really put off by how, since they couldn’t write Yasmina into parties, they gave the drink throwing moment to Luca instead, but then more or less kept to the original storyline. Even back then, I was really concerned by how aggressive they made Moyo during the cabin trip clips. But then a friend binged the season after me, and brought up how terrible the pacing was (with Friday clips being moved to other days, destroying the momentum Skam builds through the week), how most of the actors sounded like they were literally reading from a script, and the utter spam of meaningless social media pics (with very few texts to go with it). And so I realized that this season I generally enjoy bored me, because Wtfock is generally just slapped together carelessly.
Another issue I had was... Well, I’m not sure this comes across given my rabid love for David, but I actually think Skam s3 is as close to perfect TV as it gets. I don’t think this is a season that needs fixing. And as the Isak seasons succeeded each other, I realized I didn’t care for an Isak season that pretty much just took Isak and Even and put them in another country. I prefer the Isak seasons that did something Skam s3 never did, because they were never going to improve on Skam s3, and to do the same thing would just remind me how much better the acting, the music, the photography, the writing, etc. was in Skam. So I was hoping that maybe Wtfock’s Even would be a moc and they’d touch on racism for a change. However I knew the chances of Wtfock casting a trans man or a moc for their Even were slim to none.
But at the time it was kind of unthinkable that there would be an Isak season dropping, and people would not watch. And I in particular was a bit of a completionist, like I haven’t watched most Noora seasons, but I’ve watched all of the Eva seasons, and all the Isak seasons except for the last few episodes of Lucas L’s. These days I’m comfortable not tuning in (esp after trainwrecks like Arthur’s or Kato’s seasons), but at the time it felt kinda wrong to not give a season a chance, you know. Besides, a lot of people whose opinion I trust said s2 was great! Zoe and Senne one of the best noorhelms, if not the best! They really had fixed everything that was wrong with noorhelm, their social media game was so good, etc... I mean, you were there for s3 I assume, you know how people were hyping Wtfock at the time. And, for instance, Druck majorly improved in s2 after a more or less okay s1, so it’s not like remakes had never fixed their shit before.
So I started watching, but right away, I didn’t like the way they introduced Noor. She almost kinda seemed like the actual love interest in how cool she was, and how happy Robbe was hanging out with her that first night. I posted this, speculating about why Wtfock would introduce her that way. I should note that I posted that link on twitter as well, and Bram Renders liked my tweet... not too long after his tweet complaining about fans who read too much into the show would surface. 😂
Since I enjoyed writing that post, I thought I’d post weekly reaction posts in the style of Nat (@lightsandlostbells) and some others. The problem is that I’m just really good at procrastinating (I’ve been promising reaction posts in the same style for my favorite Skams seasons for... years now lol). And I wanted to keep my reactions fresh, so I stopped watching in real time. My plan was to watch the clips when I had enough time to write. This was like... Middle of week 2, I want to say. At the time, Sander hadn’t even been introduced yet!!
Even though I wasn’t watching, I still followed Wtfock-related accounts, like translators and subbers, so I still kinda knew what was going on. I was actually really let down by the way Wtfock didn’t take advantage of having Robbe and Sander in the same location for an entire week. Like, Sander was sticking a sandwich in Robbe’s mouth in a ~sexy way a few hours after exchanging their names, and yet it all kinda simmered down? No tension over social media really. Idk, I just feel like if Isak and Even, or Cris and Joana, or Matteo or David, had been stuck in the same house for an entire week shortly after meeting, Skam, Druck and eskam wouldn’t have let us forget about it for even a second.
In the end, I never did write those posts, and I ended up washing my hands off the season because the tone of the discussions around the show was legit starting to get to me in a bad way. Like how LGBTI people were attacked for disliking the gay bashing scene. Or the discussions over whether the shower scene had gone too far or if Julie Andem had exploited Tarjei Sandvik Moe just as much. I disliked Moyo but also disliked the way white fans were writing about him. And the Britt bashing was just so gross. I was getting irl upset about a season I wasn’t even watching or following, so I put it out of my mind.

What are your overall thoughts on each eskam season?
i have gone on detail on my thoughts about each individual season before (season 1, season 2, season 3) but if you want an even shorter versions now that it’s been a while:
season one: i often think about how groundbreaking it would’ve been to watch this season for the first time, given the record of other remakes. not only they changed a lot of the dialogue, places and pacing, but this season feels so uniquely different compared to other remakes, and even within eskam. i think they improved so much on this season. often, eva’s seasons drag down because we take to much to meet the girl squad or the jonas issues become too frustrating to watch after you know the outcome, but here they found such an organic way to implement all the important elements in eva’s season. i wish every person who watched og would watch this season too. also, changing jorge’s character puts more agency on eva in terms of their relationship and really makes her shame stand out and gives her an actual reason to choose to dump jorge and be with the girls, and not only because he’s a gaslighting asshole. they also improved alejandro’s character, realized that they have no reason to make the boy squad form in s3 and not be there from the start, has super organic dialogue and feels real and relatable, has interesting takes on every character... i could go on and on about all the things that make it so good. it’s a delight to watch. (this season also has my favorite soundtrack of any skam+remakes season.)
season two: my favorite change about this season is how smartly they adapted the themes of “life is now” from isak to cris and how they made it the heart of cris and joana’s relationship. when i watched og s3 i always felt like the last convo was a bit... out of nowhere? because i felt like things such as isak lying on his bed and doing nothing or like playing video games on the bathroom were things meant to be relatable to the audience, and also filler for whatever the clips turned out to be about. but with cris is just so obvious that she feels that the role she suffices on her friend group defines who she is and therefore she can’t never be anything more than it. i think it’s also a good take on giving the eternal side-character a compelling story. making their entire relationship about overcoming their own insecurities to be better together is a powerful statements on what relationships should be. i think the season derails a bit with viri’s storyline and, since that pretty much went nowhere, i would’ve liked if they put those minutes in cris’ self growth... but it’s a pretty solid season nonetheless. another great aspect that often goes overlooked is that eskam effectively had an entire noorhelm season going around in the background. think about it: the noora/vilde conflict, noora trying and failing and falling in love with william... except that noora’s season didn’t happen then, ONLY because alejandro didn’t blackmail her into a date. it’s simply as that.
season three: i consider nora’s storyline in this season to be one of the best across the entire skamverse. everything is so well thought and foreshadowed, nora turns out to be the BEST character to portray someone falling in the traps of an emotionally abusive relationship, miquel is such a well crafted character and fulfills his purpose in an excellent way, every scene on the last third of the season is just so perfectly on character and it makes such a good job showing everyone’s motivations and personalities. i absolutely love that noorhelm is built in these iconic scenes like the cliché scene, their first kiss, william coming back for her, etc etc, where it’s either high hollywood romance or Girl Boss moments. but as nora grows more and more those moments start disappearing. when she finally cuts miquel out of her life, it’s such a fragile moment in which there’s a point where you’re almost sure she’ll give in, but she holds herself steady and that’s where you can feel her courage and her bravery. none of those stupid “be careful of dropping the soap in jail!” speeches can even compare. viri’s storyline gets... waaaay less praise from me. i’m not really satisfied by it in any way. i don’t think anything that happened to her on that season really changed her character, apart from making her lie way less now. but eskam has done a good job on making her likable either way, so i can simply pretend it doesn’t exist and i’m happy about it LOL.

My thoughts on the whole episode:
So, now that’s been a couple of hours since the episode aired and I’ve had the time to watch it a couple times, here’s what I think about it and what I want from this season:
I really like Alejandro and Nora. I know they just broke up, but it felt like a teen break up, Noora and William never felt like teens to me, this two do. And I 100% understand where Alejandro is coming from. I think we’re in for the healthiest noorhelm yet.
Nicole has improved  so much as an actress... I’m amazed, no words, really. I honestly had my doubts she could pull it off, she proved me wrong and I love her for it.
Viri’s story line is so important in Spain, like, those of you who don’t life here, mainly those in northern europe... Ufff, the economic crisis of 2008 hit so fucking hard here we still don’t know which way is up and which one is down.
Viri is so sweet, she’s all heart eyes and unicorns, I still have a problem with her, though, I don’t know why, she doesn’t read honest to me, which is amazing because she’s not being honest, I think I’ll like her character better once she brings her walls down.
I don’t like Emma, I’m sorry, I know she’s pretty but I don’t like her. She forced Nora to invite her to a party when Nora clearly didn’t want her there and then she ditched her, I’m not saying Nora doesn’t love Emma, she clearly does, I just don’t like her, it’s nothing to worry about, I’m sure she’ll change and I’ll love her to death at the end, characters grow, otherwise what’s the point of watching a show? But for now, where’s the KING OF SIBLINGS DANI SOTO?
I can FEEL Nora’s struggle, going between being a strong independent woman and not giving a fuck about boys and not letting one break your heart and really, really, really wanting to text your ex because you miss them. The thing is, dear Nora, needing people, loving people, doesn’t make you any less strong or independent, it just makes you human and I hope you learn this during this season.
I love Eva and Nora’s friendship, I really, really, really want them to build on this friendship because Noora in the OG just seemed to be whoever was the main best friend and they forgot the Nora-Eva friendship after season 2. I really like how this two seem as strong as always and how you can see they are best friends.
I feel really conflicted about Miquel. I’m pretty sure he’s gonna be Nico but... He’s from Cambrils, I love Cambrils, my grandparents live there, I don’t want to be the Catalan guy to be the bad guy so, I’m gonna pretend I don’t see what people see when they say they don’t trust him, I’m gonna be Nora and trust him and then get kicked on the gut. (Sí, estic fent veure que no passa res i acabaré plorant a una cantonada, però, què hi farem? No vull veure una cosa que veig perfectament. Faré de nena de cinc anys.)
I think both Cris and Eva are gonna have their own little storylines going forward. Joana seems to just have up and left without Cris, I think they’ll have an argument or two about how shitfaced she gets at parties. I think Jorge will find the guts to tell Eva he still likes her, I honestly don’t know how she’ll react, but I love how Skam España doesn’t forget that these girls are a squad with different personalities and struggles while focusing on the main sotryline (storylines in this case).
I loved this episode, even the kiss with Miquel, I don’t know what’ll happen next and I love it.

I know this is a controversial question so i would totally understand if you choose not want to answer, but im curious enough to ask anyway. Can you rank your fav remakes in order? Maybe add a comment about what you most appreciate about each remake (to soften the blow of any sensitive readers). Ofc if you couldnt connect with a remake you might wanna totally leave it out of the ranking...
Disclaimer this is gonna be long asf. So I like all the remakes so this is gonna be hard because of that. I don’t like one remake in its entirety I can find one season in each remake I wasn’t super stoked about and if you’re skamfr I can find 3 seasons hahah. So I am actually gonna do this by fav original 1-4 seasons and original seasons (OG excluded).
Season 1: Eva Skam Espana (Isa SkamNL is a super close 2nd)
I am gonna be frank my least fav season is Eva’s season in the original seasons. I don't dislike the plot its more like I just find the other plots of the other seasons way more interesting. However if I am gonna pick my fav adaptation its gonna be Eva from Espana. Mainly because some remakes take their jonas to far and they don’t know how to balance being inexperienced and immature with just being a plain dick (am looking at you wtfock and Austin). I hate when remakes take it to far and make the couple completely irredeemable. Also Jorge is just the best man. He tries so hard for Eva he tries to make things right and its just timing, immaturity on both parts. Also I love that above all Eva and Jorge are friends. Alongside with Lucas they are just like family and they can push aside their personal issues to be their for one another and I just think thats such a beautiful quality in Jorge and Eva.They both have good souls and I am happy they ended up together but I also feel like if they didn't they would be genuinely be happy for the other if they found someone else and fell in love and thats why I love them so much.
Season 2: Zoe Wtfock (but Nora Skam Espana is a close 2nd)
Here is what I love about Zoe’s season is that we see the pov of not just how Zoe was changing because she was opening herself to love but also how much Senne was changing as well and trying to address some issues he had been ignoring because he wanted to be a better man for Zoenne. For me Zoenne and Norandro are so amazing for this reason. We not only saw the girl processing how love was effecting her development but we got to experience Senne and Alejandro trying to become better men and really transitioning from boyhood to manhood via this self assessment period of themselves. I adore these two couples for this because I am so heavily invested in both the outcome of the girl and the guy. I guess with love stories there is that saying there is two sides to a story and then there is the truth and I feel like the noorhelm storyline has always been about hard truths. About young women challenging their perspectives on feminism, about young women acknowledging when they have been a victim of a crime/emotional abuse and not blaming themselves for it but knowing that they did nothing wrong and were undeserving of the act that took place. Also s2 plays on the concepts of manhood too. How approaching situations through the lens of rage and violence can develop into harmful and even predatory tendencies. Overall these two remakes stand out to me because they really speak to the lesson of how does one define themself in the whirlwind of love and what boundaries do you need to set so you don’t lose yourself in the process. Season 3: IT’S SO HARD PICKING JUST ONE!! (Am going to base this selection entirely off my fav Isak and their narrative arc versus the evak pairing because ultimately this season is about the Isak character not Isak & Even) Matteo Druck
Let me tell you no other Skam character has haunted me as much as Matteo. I think with Matteo his story was just so raw and unfiltered. Here was this boy he was so lonely, isolated, lost and really just didn’t think he was worthy of much. Matteo was approaching life expecting the bare minimum because he in many ways didn’t think he was deserving of much more. Matteo hid himself so deeply in what I refer to as the wall paper of life. Trying to blend in and stay invisible even tho this way of thinking was seriously effecting his mental health. I don't think he realized how far from shore he was before David slammed into his life and drag him out of the grip of the ocean’s current. Matteo was on the verge of drowning he just didn’t know it. And then came David and he just loved Matteo as is and I think a big reason for that is because no one had ever told either boy that they were perfect just as they were until they said it to one another. Both boys were going through life just accepting the bare minimum one because of societal barricades around gender and the other societal stigma concerning asking for help when suffering from mental health issues. In the end they found one another and said fuck it and fuck society as long as we have one another then we’re gonna get through this. However... having said that davenzi is not my fav evak pairing but Matteo is my fav standalone Isak. The prize for fav evak tho would go to Sobbe because I literally can’t picture two more in love people. Man the day Sobbe met I feel like inertia collapsed in on itself in their respective worlds. It really was the case that time stopped and that they were destined to find one another. They are so in love it just radiates off them. Also random note my fav Even is Joana. Hence why choosing an s3 is so hard because I like different components of s3 seasons.
Season 4: Sana Skam Italia
(this is a copy/paste my original why I love Italia s4 rant)
Say what you want about the casting(this is a fair argument) but I am really happy that SKAMIT gave us a love story centered around two muslim individuals and their differing approaches and interpretations of Islam. I think for me its that we are always trying to dilute Sana’s season with this western need to educate non-muslims and though I appreciate that I also want to see a love story that’s purely about the journey of young muslims and the issues they experience themselves and not via a western glazing. The thing that stood out for me in SKAMIT is how many different perspective of how Islam is practiced came to the forefront. Sana’s journey to understand and come to defend queerness. Muslim men (Sana’s brother) being offended because she assumed he was homophobic. Laui being in a healthy relationship as a muslim queer man. Malik openly talking about Islam and his separation from it but still a believer in a greater power(and not because he wants to drink and party). For me this was what the Sana season was suppose to be about putting the muslim experience front and center and unapologetically so.
Original Season: Nora Druck
I mean what a fantastic take on building new and improved squads with more diversity in race, sexual preferences and perspectives. I will say that I also do like the new squad from Skamfr. Its nice to see newgens that am truly excited about getting to know. Like I need to know everything about Ava pronto she is bae. I do have one random surprise about my next fav original season which for me would be Arthur for Skamfr. Honestly if we would have gutted the cheating plot we would have had a really interesting season about a young adult’s life being rocked by disability and trying to find themselves in this new landscape. Similar to Nora in Druck with MI and also the long term effects of experiencing violence in the household in Skamfr but yea so far Druck has been the only one to get a sound original season out and they should be commended for that.

Skam España Season 2 Thoughts and Expectations for Season 3
I finished season two this past Friday and while there were things I enjoyed I don’t really like this season?
Like on the positive side of things I liked Chris’s friendships with Amira and Lucas this season. I think the scenes she has with them were very sweet and were good for her as a character. Likewise, the support the girl squad has for each other also continues to be very good.
More negatively, however, I wasn’t a fan of Joana or Cris’s relationship with her. While there were good romantic scenes and I can understand Joana’s point of view, I didn’t really like her treatment of Cris. I can understand being upset with Cris after that scene on the roof and her not talking to Cris afterwards due to her suicide attempt but I don’t like the way she talked to Cris afterwards. Obviously it’s important to do what’s best for yourself but her treatment of Cris after that reunion wasn’t okay. She basically dismissed Cris’s feelings to play the victim. Likewise, I understand why she did it but I don’t like the things she said to Cris in an attempt to push her away. Obviously they end up together and promise to work on their relationship but I just cannot be invested in them as a couple because from Joana’s words and actions it feels like she doesn’t actually care about Cris.
That said, Cris isn’t perfect. It’s hard to put into words since it’s not a problem I have with Cris herself but outside of her relationships with Amira, Lucas, and the girl group as well as a few scenes with Joana she wasn’t very fun to watch. Like I get that she was struggling with things but  even in other seasons I’ve seen of España, Austin, and NL I still found them fun whereas Cris’s season just feels kind of depressing for reasons I can’t put into words.
Speaking of which, I don’t really like how they handled Cris’s bisexuality. Now I’m not part of the LGBT+ community so I apologize if what I say is harmful but watching the season it didn’t feel like she was struggling with being bi. While she obviously wasn’t invested in Hugo or Ruben there wasn’t really a focus on her relationship with men. Obviously there’s a focus on her coming to terms with her attraction to women but her attraction to men is treated more like an afterthought in that she’s not interested in Ruben or Hugo and while we’re told she likes men this season doesn’t portray that. So for me it feels more like she’s struggling to come to terms with being a lesbian but that’s obviously not the intention if she’s meant to be bi. I don’t know how they could’ve improved without making the season feel even more depressing but as is I don’t like the way her bisexuality was handled this season.
As for next season, I don’t really know much about it? I was corrected on my last post so now I know that this season is the one with the abusive relationship but aside from that the only things I know are that apparently Viri and Hugo are a thing, it apparently ends with Nora being single, and that while Nora is the main point of view Viri acts as a secondary point of view with her own clips. It’s very unlikely but I kind of like the idea of Viri and Nora getting together and while I know it’s not a thing this season I’m kind of hoping that maybe it could be a thing for season four and this season could possibly set that up. I dunno. I still need to watch season three before deciding for sure how I feel about that idea. I’m planning to finish Wednesday since unlike the first two seasons this one has an odd number of episodes so we’ll see how I feel then.

Do you watch other remakes too or just Skam España?
I'll use that ask to break it down for myself as well (hope that's okay haha), so
I watched the first 2 seasons of Skam France because it has been the first remake after Skam ended and I really really missed it & also wanted to improve my French a little (never ever again). But it's a pure copy of the original and I didn't really like it and I didn't watch the 3rd season because I'm actually one of those people that didn't like the Evak season that much (because I didn't really forgive Isak for what he did in the first season). I think season 3 is good though and with a lot of attraction
I watched the first half of Skam Italia and I don't really know why I stopped. I didn't really watch the other seasons because there aren't clips on YouTube but their evak is really sweet from what I've seen but the actors are SO NOT teenagers and again.. the thing that Isak did (this is my favourite Isak though)
I tried watching Druck but I couldn't get into it. I don't like the German language (this is coming from someone who's mother tongue is German) and their voices just annoyed the shit out of me. I also didn't like the "high" look Matteo had. But David seemed like a really really cute Even (he's probably my favorite Even after Joana)
I watched a bit of Skam NL and I really liked it. I even let YouTube play all their episodes in the background because I wanted it to be renewed (to all the posts I read about SkamEspaña fans not supporting other remakes🙃). Their Isak seems like a snake though and I didn't like how they ended their noorhelm season (is it the right time to say that Noorhelm was my favorite season in the OG¿¿🙃 I only just now realised how bad some things were and I also was vErY sTrAiGhT then haha, my second favorite is season 1)
I watched Wtfock and I think that's actually my favorite remake after Skam España.... UHHHH I WANNA WATCH IT NOW, I LOVED THEIR NOORHELM (Btw I take back saying that I wished I was a Druck Stan cause I actually rather be a wtfock Stan!!! Their Isak doesn't seem too bad either
I also watched most clips of Skam Austin as well and I don't think it's too bad. I just really didn't like Megan & Marlon and also the other best friend (the "Isak" next to Shay) but I think they did a really good portrayal of the sexual assault (the best portrayal of all the remakes in my opinion) and I'll always be happy about Grace saying "Yeah it was a horrible thing. FOR ME" to Daniel because THAT'S SOOOO FUCKING IMPORTANT
And I gotta admit that I've actually only seen the second season of Skam España but I'm planning on watching the first season aswell and I already love the fact that Isak/Lucas actually doesn't betray one of his best friend there 👏👏👏🎉
Overall I had this biiiiiiig problem of not wanting to love something as much as Crisana and that's why I stopped watching most of it or only watched it clip-wise. I'm planning on watching both season of Wtfock though, probably the first season of Skam NL (from what I've seen I really didn't like what they did with season 2 after they got together) and maybe watch the Evak remakes (alsoaybe the OG season cause there probably is a reason why it's the favorite season of most people) to compare them with Crisana.

Whatever no one that follows me watches 3% as far as I know but time for some DEFENSE MUSINGS OF A CHARACTER
I knew Michele was going to illicit an unfavorable reaction from most people because it looks like she kept flipping sides, but it’s been made clear since the beginning that the only side she’s been on was her brothers. Every decision she made was for the sake of helping out Andre, from joining the Cause, to defecting, to helping Joana and the rest only as much as she needed in order to achieve that goal. When people say ‘it’s like she doesn’t believe in anything’, it’s like, well yeah, that’s the entire point. Ideologies were never her thing, helping her only family member was always the goal.
But then, she rescued Andre and they escape, finding the former base of the founding trio, and what Michele discovered wasn’t pretty at all. After learning her brother killed his mentor just for the sake of keeping the status quo of the Offshore and Inland, we see Michele’s one belief, her belief in Andre, break. All her efforts to save her brother, the person who raised her and was her one source of hope in goodness, just to find out he’s just another monster created by the world around him. From that point on it’s obvious that while she was always aware of how rotten things were, she hasn’t really felt it until that moment, or wanted to take any responsibility in stopping it.
Michele’s actions in the last episode, while infuriating at first because I know we all wanted Joana, Fernando, and Rafael’s plan to succeed, makes a lot of sense considering the information she learned about the Trio, information the rest of the Cause doesn’t have. She was privy to another solution in helping the people on the Inland, and isn’t that what Joana and the rest were all about once she learned Silas wanted to blow up the Process, killing everyone there? Joana and Fernando’s plan was good, on the surface, but we all saw what was about to happen. If all the data was indeed erased the the Process cancelled, the participants all would have been shot. Dead anyway, despite the Cause’s effort to now try and cause no harm to innocent people.
The problem presented is that society has been conditioned for generations to believe in nothing but the Process, that it’s their only shot at making it. Fernando tried on multiple occasions to convince them that it’s all poisonous bullshit but no one ever listened. His own father had him arrested for it. The culmination of this was a riot at the very idea that the Process was cancelled for that year. I’m all for protests and loud, angry acts that kickstart a revolution, but the mindset of the people are all wrong right now. They all still believe in this meritocracy and that it’s the right way to do things.
Michele, on further reflection, did the right thing. I think it’s still problematic that her getting food and medicine is still dependent on the Offshore, since it is still possible that they can refuse to give them any more and take it all way so they are all still clearly in their clutches right now, but what she did give can help people believe that they deserve better and that they don’t need the Process. I’m hoping that an improvement in quality of life breaks the brainwashing in people that all that matters is some stupid test to prove that they’re worthy. From there, a true revolution can start for the right reasons but as it is now, I don’t think the Inland is ready for one.

The Harvest - RE8 Fanfic
The Harvest
A Resident Evil 8 fan fiction by Joana
Karl Heisenberg x Female Reader
Notes: heey, so here is another juicy chapter, not much to add to it, though, just hope you enjoy >.<
Warning: NSFW content
Part I - Destiny (1) Part I - Destiny (2) Part II - The Lord Part III - The Hunt Part IV - Soft Torture
Part V - Cry baby
You didn’t remember how you got in that situation in the first place. Of course, Lycans were a normal treat for the Village people, but somehow, they respected the villagers, at least, most of the time. You, on the other hand, wasn’t born among those people. No, your essence was different, you were, in some ways, an outsider and because of that, the cabin people had their shares of nightmares with Lycans attacking their loved ones.
This time, it was about yourself. You heard the roars and your blood went cold. Actually, this sound was a more bestial than the usual, drier than the throaty ones Lycans usually make when calling the others. You were afraid it was a Vârcolac. You didn’t see it, but ran from the source anyway. Maybe you did a mistake, because instead of running to the Village, you took the path to the forest, to the abandoned cabins where you thought you could be safe.
You were hidden in the wreck of your old home. As suddenly as you got there, you knew you were doomed. The Vârcolac was nearby, you could hear its steps breaking through dead branches with a strength you tried not to imagine. You were cold sweating now, it arrived at the cabins and was sniffing around, searching for your smell. You were certain you smelled like fear.
For a moment there, it all went dead silent. Nothing moved, no noise was heard. But you knew it couldn’t have simply disappeared, the Vârcolac was more cunning than you expected. Then, out of nowhere, its huge, dark haired beast head was framed by the remnants of a window above you. The chimera opened its wide mouth, showing its sharp teeth and a terrible, profound roar resonated in your mind, your eyes hypnotised by the view of death coming.
You woke up panting, still feeling the hot breeze of its breath on your cheekbones. You didn’t notice where you were at first, too scared to even understand it was all a bad dream. Heisenberg, who had been sleepy by your side, watching you sleep, promptly sat up with your reaction, wrapping a protective arm around your belly.
“You okay there, sweety?” He asked, making you calmer as soon as you perceived his husky morning voice.
“I had a nightmare.” You confided, burying your face on his collarbone, using his scent to help your nerves.
“Wanna talk about it?” Karl wrapped you in his strong arms, pulling you to his lap as you instinctively hugged him.
“It was stupid, nothing special.” You tried to mask the real terror that consumed you minutes ago.
“Nah.” He clicked his tongue. “Nothing you say is stupid, buttercup.” For that, you smiled, resting on his intense grip.
“I was being hunted by a Vârcolac.” You finally confessed, feeling a bit ashamed of it, imagining that that man wouldn’t understand such human fear.
“Oh, Y/N, no need to be afraid, buttercup.” He smiled back at you; his adorable expression framed by messy grizzled hair locks. “Those damn things are far, you are safe. And I will never let them get any close to you, anyway.” He shrugged as if it was nothing for him to deal with.
Being held and told these words made you significantly less worried. Every obstacle for you seemed easier to Karl and he promised to take care of you. Of course, you wanted to be able to defend yourself and you could do that reasonably well, but with that sort of thing was a lot different. They were mutated beings and you were… Well, only human. In that manner, you felt safe with him, like that, resting in his arms, almost forgetting what had just upset you.
“Thank you, Karl.” You told his neck, pressing gentle kisses on his sweet spots surrounding his Adam’s apple, making him bit the interior of his cheek.
“No problem, kitten.” Heisenberg said, holding your chin with his free hand, making you rise your eyes and gaze at his bicoloured irises.
He leaned towards your lips, taking them in his, kissing you ever so passionately, you could melt in his warmth. You couldn’t get enough of his kisses. Feeling the scar on his bottom lip usually made you shiver, a sweet sensation flooding your entire form. He held you tighter, as if you would slip away at any moment. The man still incapable of believing you choose to stay there, with him, not once finding it a bad experience, as most people would by living in that factory.
You two have spent a lot of time together ever since the incident with the Soldat. At first, he was worried for you walking alone in the downer part of the building. He would check on you frequently when you were reading, listening to his records or even improving your bow, which he found fascinating. You would fetch him at his new office every now and then, maybe teasing him a bit to relax when he was working restlessly – not that you gave him enough time to rest with your recently discovered appetite for him.
He wasn’t too vocal with his feelings, but he made his best on complimenting you every chance he had. You were sure that spending most of his time alone made him a little awkward for that sort of intimate contact, but oh, he has been craving it so much since you set your foot on his factory. He tried to hide it, tell himself it would pass, however as the days went by, it only grew, making his chest rumble with his accelerated heartbeat every glimpse he had of your form.
Now he wouldn’t resist the temptation of falling asleep by your side as you cuddled him, tracing the lines of his scars so softly he would forget about the situations in which he gained them. You made everything cosier, even the daily choirs, the stressful works, if you were by his side, he would feel at ease.
He broke the kiss with a low groan. His eyes now had a starving sparkle enlivening them. Every since your first time with him, you were getting better and better on noticing the signs on his face when he wanted to have you, actually, when he neededto have you. And this time, the man was hungry, his heart desperately claiming your touch, his skin growing more sensitive the more time you spent on his lap.
“Damn, Y/N.” He whispered, bared teeth. “I swear you have some sort of power over me.” Karl proceeded to roughly kiss your jaw line, not certain if he wanted to press his lips on your skin or nip it. He did both.
“Oh, meine Hexe.” He chanted as he laid your back on the bed, you took the opportunity to envelop his hips with your legs, pressing his hardness against your pubic bone. “Meine frech Hexe.” Karl corrected himself, maliciously smirking at your action.
“Karl…” You moaned to his hoarse tone, aroused by his accent.
“What is it, Y/N?” He asked in a teasing way.
“I-I want you.” You cried for him.
“Already, sweetheart?” Karl giggled at your eager countenance, to that you could only nod, biting your bottom lip as he pressed his clothed hard cock against your bud through the thin fabric of your pantie. “What a thirsty whore you are.” He tormented you some more.
As Heisenberg pressed himself against you, doing nothing but rubbing both of your needy arousals for a moment, your hands found his forearms, digging your nails in his skin. He groaned, pinning your arms on the sheets, encaging you underneath him.
“Nah, nah, doll.” He denied you, clicking his tongue. “I like seeing you so desperate for my cock.” Karl leaned only to bite your bottom lip, almost until it bled.
“K-Karl, please.” You begged, moving your hips on his rod on, causing him to moan a bit.
“Argh, kitten, I need to taste you.” He stated, nothing else going on in his head but your flavours.
Karl made you take off his green shirt you’ve been wearing and left a trail of kisses down your abdomen, groping your breasts, pinching your hard nipples with his teeth and later pressing them in between his thumb and index finger. You whined with the contact, feeling a pleasant pinch of pain.
“Kitten, you are perfect.” He let out between his nips, going down on you.
His hands rested on you belly, securing you laying, helpless. He reached your waist line. Karl didn’t hesitate on tugging off your panties, irritated it was hiding the treasure from him. The man almost salivated at the sight of your juicy thighs, soaked due to his touches. Not being able to stop himself, his tongue ran along your clit, making you cry out.
It was only one lick, though, just enough for him to taste your sweetness, an appetizer. Heisenberg smirked at your sulky face, being denied of his tongue. He was interested on your thighs, squeezing them, licking the length until he got so close to your labia, but never really licking it, so you would moan desperately.
The man was going savage with your reactions. Drinking in every sound you let out, cute, tempting whines. He considered teasing you eternally just so he could keep listening, but your cunt was calling for him. He sucked onto your inner thigh, marking you as his. This was somewhat sore, but the warming sensation compensated it, leaving only pleasure to flood your brain.
“Look at the mess you making, kitten.” He commented, laughing at your state.
“All this teasing is gonna make me drown, Karl.” You managed to say in between moans.
“We will see about that.” Heisenberg defied.
As much as he would love to keep working on your thighs, Heisenberg was convinced a good girl like you deserved more attention on other areas. That was when you finally felt his warm, soft tongue on your clit. He wasn’t much gentle, oh no, Karl was starving, feeling his pre-cum slobbering his pants, but he already knew your sweet spots so well, being an eager student when it came to your body.
He was kissing and sucking onto your bottom, having you performing an opera of groans, his tongue making you spasm under the strength of his hands. He didn’t resist anymore, accompanying you with muffled moans, delighting himself on your slickness as he slipped down, on your entrance, licking all your juice.
“That is my good girl.” He called you, getting away from you pussy as he presented two fingers to you, resting them on your bottom lip, separating it from the upper one. “Suck ‘em, kitten.” Karl demanded and you obeyed with lusty eyes.
The sensation of your mouth around his fingers made his cock painfully throb, letting out a moan from him. He wasn’t done playing with you, though. Heisenberg led his fingers inside your cosiness, holding his breath as your walls clutched them, imagining how your pussy would perfectly accept his cock.
You were so wet, he couldn’t believe you got like that all because of him, but he loved it. Karl moved his fingers inside you, they formed a slight hook, reaching your G spot easily, making you cry out. It was starting to feel too much. Then he added his tongue. The stimulation on your clit plus the penetration was getting you closer. He knew it, feeling you squeeze his digits.
“C’mon, girl, come on my fingers.” He animalistic whispered.
You couldn’t hold on any longer, feeling too sensitive around his fingers, willing to come. Your orgasm had you spasming, your body reacting to what he had done to you, giving him a delightful spectacle. He only released you when he was certain you came all the way.
“Open up.” His slobbery fingers pressing against your lips again. You tasted yourself on him like that.
“I want you inside me, Karl.” You said as soon as you could.
“And you will have it, kitten.” He promised, his hands now working on getting rid of his pants.
It was an entrancing sensation to be free at last, his neglected cock feeling the chilly air, in despair to be inside your wet comfort warmness. He rubbed his tip on your clit, enjoying himself on your sounds and humidity. Feeling you like that was testing his limits.
Anytime away from your tightness was too much. Karl grunted with the friction, stopping abruptly. He looked you deep in the eye, the sweetest and hungriest of the looks, his needs for you almost overflowing there. Then he buried himself inside you, all his length easily accepted by you lubricated cunt, making the man groan. He never got tired of your insides, his now favourite place to be.
You took his dick so well, no matter how much it seemed to you, it fit perfectly. He just stayed there for a minute, enjoying the sensation of your walls clutching his cock, which was throbbing with any small friction provoked by minor movements of your hips. Heisenberg was driving you insane, filling you with every inch, so deep inside you.
Karl couldn’t help himself anymore. His teeth met your shoulder, biting hard, at the same time as he started rocking his hips, hitting your pleasure spots like he knew them by heart – and at that point he indeed knew. All you could do was groan with his thrusts, pinching his back with your nails, forcing him to be close, not a centimetre between you too.
His pace was getting feral, his cock coming in and just half out, never willing to let you go at all. You felt just too pleasant, flooding his mind with the sensation of your pussy embracing his length. You were a beautiful mess at that point, helpless with all he had you feeling. One specific angle made you more slick, leading Heisenberg to wail, his beard scrubbing your chest.
“F-fuck, kitten.” He cursed you. “Your pussy takes me so well.” He said, gripping your waist, making you feel him even deeper.
“Karl, you’re too deep.” You cried out.
“Oh, but you can take it, right, kitten? You love it, don’t you?” Karl had you rolling your eyes in delight.
“Y-yes.” You answered, feeling closer to your high.
He felt that, leading his thumb to rub your bud, not as fast as his thrusts, but enough to make you lose your mind, not sure how you could feel so good, but this man had you entirely given on his hands.
“Come to me, kitten, I wanna feel your cunt tightening me.” His wish was an order and so you came with his words, melting in his grip, your belly spasming, to which he smiled with satisfaction.
With you pressing him this much, so juicy, he was feeling himself coming near to his end. Heisenberg let your clit go, both his hands grasping your hips, burying himself in you, shoving his dick in. It hit you multiple times, directly on a special spot, making you shiver. He felt it against his cock as you swung for him.
He had to bit his bottom lip, sounds escaping his mouth anyway. Karl was almost there, you noticed, licking his exposed scarred chest to which he moaned even more.
“Give me it all, Karl.” You begged. “I need your cum inside me, p-please.” You asked, hit by another of his savage thrusts.
It was enough for him, Heisenberg let go, releasing himself inside you, filling you entirely with his delicious cum. You felt the warmth flooding your insides while you ran your nails on his sides. He rested his body on yours, not even thinking of getting out of your embrace.
“That was… Savage, buttercup.” He confided as you started playing with his sweaty hair, his head resting on your chest.
“I could say the same about you.” You giggled, his head moving so your eyes could meet.
“It is your fault you are so delicious.” He played back.
“Well, I can see why your house symbol is a horse.” You shrugged, making him laugh hard.
You two stayed on bed for a while, relaxing after the exercise. Your nightmare’s reactions long gone after the treatment Heisenberg gave you. You almost fell asleep with the man in your arms, only not doing so when he called you to the shower where he proved one more time he really couldn’t get enough of you.

The Year That Changed Restaurants—and What Happens Next
Tumblr media
The numbers are astounding. The food and beverage industry accounted for one in four jobs lost during the pandemic—more than any other sector of the economy. Without additional assistance, tens of thousands of bars and restaurants could shutter, taking up to 7 million jobs with them. That’s the barista who knows our order before we’re awake enough to ask for it, the busser whose smile improves a lousy day, and so many others behind the scenes. And yet, there’s hope. Restaurants have shown creativity and resilience, becoming movie theaters, drive-throughs, grocers. The industry banded together to push the Restaurants Act through Congress, which, if passed, would offer a $120 billion life preserver. Chefs are doing backflips to feed communities in need while also looking to the future. What the industry will look like on the other side is unknown. But if these folks have their way—and if we, the diners, support them—it’ll be smarter, more nimble, and a heck of a lot more egalitarian.
We’ve been following how the restaurant industry has been coping with the Coronavirus throughout the year. For more reflections from the people on the inside, read our Restaurant Diaries series.
“We are an army of millions, and people need to go back to work to feed America.”
José Andrés, chef and World Central Kitchen founder: “I closed two of my restaurants. Why? Because it was the smart thing to do. I don’t feel defeated; it’s part of life. There’s an old saying, ‘Success is going from failure to failure without losing enthusiasm.’ We are in for a big fight in the months ahead. Let’s hope the government gives us an injection of capital. We are an army of millions, and those people need to go back to work to feed America. Restaurants have always been a place to break bread, a place to come together. Sometimes it’s not even about the food. It’s about restoring our bodies and our faith in each other and the idea that together we can get through this.”
How World Central Kitchen Helps: WCK’s Restaurants for the People program pays local restaurants to cook for vulnerable communities, which in turn helps keep them afloat in a crisis. WCK has partnered with more than 2,400 establishments during the pandemic to serve those in need.
“You have to adapt or die.”
Eric Vernon, The Bar-B-Q Shop, Memphis: “We’re an old-school restaurant. We didn’t ‘do’ online. I know half of my customers by name. Now you’re telling us we can’t get near ’em?! I said, If we don’t go online quickly, we’re going to die. There were nights I’d stay up till 2 a.m. on this computer, trying to figure out everything. It took 30 days, but now people can order food through our website. They don’t understand how much DoorDash and Grubhub charge a restaurant, but those orders helped us stay in business. You have to adapt or die.”
Tumblr media
“This is the end of the independent restaurant era.”
Edward Lee, 610 Magnolia, Louisville, KY: “This is the end of the independent restaurant era, and I don’t know any chef in their right mind who feels hopeful right now. We have meal kits; we’re getting heaters. But at the end of the day, I’m on the Titanic, trying to throw out buckets of water to stay afloat. It’s the fluctuations that really hurt us. We rely on predictability for staffing, for inventory. Now we don’t have a clue. Some of it is COVID-related; some of it is protest-related; and some of it related to fears about eating out. Sometimes it’s a viral article on Facebook that affects consumer confidence.”
“Regardless of what’s going on in the world, it doesn’t change my circumstance. I’m a line cook. I still have to make money and provide for my family. I don’t have the luxury of being scared or staying inside and complaining. Fear is a rich man’s game.” —Courtney Poitras, Red Rooster, NYC
“There is pride and honor in this work. To not be able to do it is very difficult.”
Louise Palmer, Send Chinatown Love, NYC: “Chinese New Year in February is when a lot of Chinatown restaurants started closing due to anti-Asian sentiment from the whole ‘Kung Flu’ notion. By the time stay-at-home orders went into place, many businesses were already operating at a loss. A lot of them didn’t qualify for the Payroll Protection Program because they’re very analog; it’s hard to quantify things. Or there were language barriers to accessing it. And because they are cash-only, they can’t use systems like Seamless. These mom-and-pop shops keep prices super low to support the affordable housing units and elderly people in the area. They’re feeding the community. For them to close, it’s one less option for someone who doesn’t have a lot of money to eat. For a lot of our merchants there is pride and honor in this work; they want to earn a living. To not be able to do that is very difficult.”
