Hey y'all! :D I have a two-parter for you today!

Since I'm still on that Thomas Brainrot(tm), I've been writing sort of "fan" episode concepts just for funsies. And since we never got to see the two sets of twin engines interact, you bet I had to write something based on just that! xD

Then, of course, I decided to draw something based on the concept as well, aaand... here we are! xD

One day, Douglas goes to Brendam Docks, where he meets a pair of cheeky little Saddletank engines. They're quickly up to their usual antics, teasing and pulling tricks on the poor Scottish engine. He's most annoyed with the two little troublemakers, and quickly begins thinking of a way to get back at them. 

And so, with a little help from his twin Donald, they turn the tables on those cheeky little tank engines and give them a little taste of their own medicine! ;D

Once it's all over, though, they all have a good laugh about it! :D Though Bill and Ben would be shocked at first, they'd be good sports about it. At the very least they'd know never to mess with the Scottish twins again, that's for sure! xD

Honestly, I'm still shocked that these guys never interacted in the canon material. Pairing the two sets of twin engines together just seems like such a fun concept! I'd have loved to see the little gremlin tank engines get their comeuppance from the more level-headed, albeit still cheeky in their own right, Scottish twins. xD

Ah well! I can have fun imagining the chaos at least. ;D

Overall, I'm super happy with how this turned out!! I kind of went for a storybook-esque vibe with this and the other piece, and I'm really happy with the result. I also just had a lot of fun playing around with all the different textures and effects.

So I hope y'all enjoy it too! <3 And, with the FNAF movie (I still can't believe it LOL) just around the corner, I do have plans to draw something for that in the near future. ;3

Bill and Ben: Demonic terror-bees on one hand, Good Boys Who Love Their Mummy on the other!

With cuddle-bug moments like this, it's no wonder Edward can't stay cross with them for long.

Hello!! I would like to do some fanart for the ship children for each of the kids of the wukongverse except I can't really find some descriptions for some of them, like keto and rahu who I think were only mentioned once(??) Do you by chance have a link for them or a tag?

Of course! I always welcome fanart of my aus or ideas! ^♡^

I'll try to do decent descriptions for all ze babies/fan children.

Lego Monkie Kid - Shadowpeach (multiple aus);

Zàoyīn & Bàoliè/"Rumble & Savage" - tiny black-furred baby monkeys with red face masks + Macaque's dark skin. Get into a lot of havoc despite being the size of marmosets. Develop little red "tiger stripes" on their limbs and tails as they get older. Rumble has natural six-ears.

Yuebei Xing - the baby girl herself and star of the SlowBoiled au. Tiniest black furball ever. Big blue eyes (often caused by eating LBD's soul). And a white skull-shaped face marking. Grows to be much taller than either parent. Here's some super cute fanart done by @teatime-at-4 + teenage Yuebei by @soniclozdplove + an older version of her done in the LMK OC Picrew.

Jidu & Luohuo - born shortly after Yuebei, and named for the lunar nodes/phenomena making them the "Nodelets". Furs are a mix of orange and black like tortoiseshell cats. Both have four purple and orange ears. Very mischievous.

Luzhen - technically Wukong's little brother, depending on the au. Looks like a little clone of him, but with deep blue eyes. Loves music.

Ziqi - newest baby idea. Named for the last Lunar phenomena (Perigee/a supposed "shadow planet") not given a character in Journey to the South. Surprise baby. Pure black (like a shadow) with hazy purple eyes, and face marking.

Monkey King Hero is Back - ReboundedHeroes;

Xiaoyun/"Little Cloud" - born from a mysterious cloud-patterned Stone Egg. Egg was damaged before hatching; causing the right eye, right ear(s), and right arm not to develop correctly. Pure white fluffy fur, like a cloud. Very small and skinny due to being born premature. Very adventurous, gives his parents frequent heart attacks.

Yǔ Sōng & Xuě Bào - Twin girls born sometime into the family's Journey across the kingdoms. Look like little toasted macaroons with six ears each, and violet eyes. Develop their baba's red-auburn when they grow up.

+Shui Lian - Adopted. AU form of the White-Faced Vixen. Due to timeline changes, the "vixen" is rather only a pre-teen kit. Has albinism and is unable to hide her fox ears and tail despite mostly-human form.

Monkey King Reborn - Fruitiedads;

Xiao Qi - Fruitie/Qi Energy reborn as a Stone Monkey egg by sheer willpower. Fur so white it look transparent. Pink skin + pink heart-shaped face marking. Big smiley baby. Looks like a fairytale prince.

Xiao Lü - reincarnation of Yuandi/Primordium created when Nüwa tricked Smokey/SWK into creating a clay figure to house the primordial soul - which became a new stone egg. Pure black fur, light skin, and no noticeable face marking as if yet. Has little grey "shoes" on the fur around her feet - hence the name.

5 False Ginseng Fruit Babies - complete and utter accident on the monkeys part. Smokey tried growing the pit from the Ginseng fruit he ate in hopes that the resulting tree could help reinvigorate the damaged FFM. Liang/LEM watered/tended to the tree while he was gone. It did not in fact bare Ginseng Fruit - but five whole newborn monkey cubs - all named after stone fruits. Current draft of the au places their "fruiting" after the Journey once everyone's come home. More detailed post here.

Lìzhī & Hǎizǎo - Twins. Born at the crux of the Journey. Accidentally delivered inside the Thunderclap Monastery. Look like miniature versions of Smokey, tiny brown furred grumpy things.

+Zhu Yu & Ku Ai / Wood Wolf Siblings - Adopted. The children of Kui Mulang/Revati/Yellow Robed Demon and the Princess Baihuaxiu. After the stray star wolf entity was captured, the Princess wanted nothing to do with her half-wolf children (given that they were conceived in less than ideal circumstances) and the human king wanted them destroyed. The pilgrims take the little werewolves into their group. Older girl and younger boy, both below the age of seven. Mix of brown and grey fur/hair like regular wolf pups. Think the kids from Wolf Children Ami & Yuki.

Monkey King 2023/Netflix - CherryandOliveStones;

Xiaoshi - created when Cherry/SWK wanted to see if he could make "another him" from clay and a pebble after he had learned the story of Nüwa. Clay Egg became a real Stone Egg. Xiaoshi has bright orange fur and light briwn face markings. Rarely doesn't have paint or ink in his fur. Link to some amazing art done by @tsa-smth.

Hǔpò & Zhēnzhū aka "The Pebbles" - natural babies. Look like little clones of their LEM (black fur with white accents) with their dear baba's green eyes.

Luzhen (yes another one) - miniature version of Cherry/SWK. Possible little brother.

New Gods series - Jackpotshipping;

Xiaozhēn - dumpster baby. Possible half-monkey demon. Fluffy brown fur, built like a dad - cus he is one. Is in his 30s demon-wise. Has kids of his own.

Unnamed newborn twins nicknamed "Two Pair" (x) - dark fur and brown eyes. One baby is an attempted changeling - but they aren't sure which one.

Meihouwang 2009 - Peachbuds;

Ketu & Rahu - a pair of twins, one a loose Stone Egg that arrived in a comet, the other an egg formed naturally between the parents (they're all grown up by now ofc). Both have a mix of silver and gold fur, like their parents when they were younger. Rahu has six ears. Here's the post you mentioned!

Smash Legends - FabledConnections;

No definite kids, but I'd imagine they'd be a mix of black and white fur. Like tuxedo cats.

Bill and Ben were shunting at Brendam harbor, when Thomas raced up to them, covered from flange to funnel in soot and dirt.

“Hello Thomas!” The twins chimed together, “running from…”

“I need you two to distract the inspector.” Caomhnóir snapped, “they were supposed to be at Suddery, and now I have to sneak a Coronation class past them.”

The twins straightened, suddenly serious. “What do you need from us?” Bill asked.

“I have to get them from the mainline to Lucania,” Thomas said, nodding towards the small liner at the end of the docks.

The twins looked at each other, “Plan Delta?” Ben asked. Bill nodded, the twins raced off towards where the inspector was talking with Sir Topham Hatt and Edward, while Thomas ran to get the Coronation.

The Inspector was standing on top of a clay truck to get a better view of the harbor. Ben raced up and snatched the line of trucks it was in, the inspector slipping and falling face first into the clay as the trucks were snatched.

“Ben.” Edward barked.

“Catch me if you can.” Ben shouted, racing off.

Edward was faster, but there was only one of him. Everytime he got close, the other twin would snatch the trucks, and they would be off again.

As they raced around, whichever twin didn't have the trucks kept an eye on Thomas’s progress.

Soon Lucania’s cranes had winched the Pacific up onto her decks. Thomas peeped an all clear as the liner cast off her moorings, Edward looking back in confusion, then realization.

Ben dropped the trucks in front of the 4-4-0, “lovely game Edward.”

Bill popped up on the other side, “love to play again, but we have trucks to see to.”

“Places to be.”

“Engines to annoy.”

“Ta!”

The twins shot off towards the clay pits, leaving a motion sick Inspector, giggling trucks, and an oddly proud Edward behind.

During the winter months, work at the quarries would grind to a standstill. Between the ground freezing solid and becoming considerably more difficult to excavate and the frost further hindering their progress, some such industries temporarily ceased operation.

The Suddery Clay Co. was no exception. Bill and Ben were glad that they didn't spend the winter cooped up in their shed, but being contracted out to other companies meant they were often split up.

Ben had been sent up to the yard near the big station to help keep things moving. But Bill and Ben are small tank engines. The trucks, vans, and coaches seemed to tower over the low-slung saddle tank. Without Bill, the yard began to feel very claustrophobic.

“Helloo!!” A booming voice echoed across the yard. “Flatbeds full of crates, where are you?”

Ben shrank back behind a van. Without his twin - the engine he'd worked alongside for just about his entire life - he didn't have half the confidence he normally would have.

“Hey there - wouldn't happen to have seen any flatbeds with crates on 'em, would'ja?”

Ben stared. Standing before him was easily the strangest looking engine he'd ever seen. And he'd met someone with an engine at each end.

“C'mon, you, lighten up!” The backwards-looking (according to Ben) cyan engine grinned. “It's Christmastime! The festive time of the year that friends and family come together, an-”

“The time of year where I'm split up from mine.” Ben said, quietly.

The bigger engine blinked. “What do you mean?”

“Bill - my twin brother - and I always work together. We have our whole lives. But…” Ben sighed. “Apparently there isn't enough work for all of us at the clay pits this time of year, so we get sent to work elsewhere… and usually apart. And this year is no different.”

“Bill is still here on the island, isn't he?”

“Well- yeah, but-”

“And he's still your brother?”

“…”

“Then hold onto that feeling. Remember how much he means to you. And you'll get to see him again when the clay pits reopen, so you have that to look forward to.”

“I guess…”

“Merlin taught me that.” The big cyan engine said proudly.

Ben had absolutely no idea who Merlin was, but he smiled anyway.

“For the time being, you shouldn't have to spend Christmastime alone. I'm Lexi. The engines at Knapford Sheds probably won't have an issue with letting one more engine in, and out of the cold.”

The small saddle tank engine smiled. “I'd… like that. I'm Ben.”

Traintober | Day 2 - Bridge

Green Arrow finds out that Edward has a fear of heights after a new bridge is installed.

"You again?" Green Arrow raised an eyebrow as Boco came in with clay trucks from the Clay Pits. “What’s wrong with Edward, why are you pulling his trains?” 

The BR Class 28 gave a tired sigh before he looked away.

“He won’t go over the new bridge,” Boco explained and Green Arrow frowned, confused. 

“Bridge?”

“The new one between Maron and Suddery, the one they raised so that taller boats could go up the Maura,” Boco tutted. “He won’t go over it now.”

“Won’t he now?”

Green Arrow gave a thoughtful hum as Boco gave a honk and departed to leave his train with the twins. Arrow decided that he would have a talk with the blue engine.

After many hours of searching, Arrow found the elder blue Furness up at Ulfstead Castle later that evening. He’d been hiding and spending less time around Brendam sheds and Green Arrow knew it wasn’t just a coincidence. 

A new, significantly higher bridge had been installed, Edward suddenly avoiding work and now he was avoiding the rest of the Brendam crew. There had to be something else going on.

“So this is where you’ve been hiding,” Arrow greeted the blue engine but recoiled as he saw that Edward wasn’t alone. “Oh, hello James.”

“What are you doing here? Get lost!” James sneered at Arrow whom just stared back at him unbothered by James' hostility.

“Now I know the both of you are a pair of lovebirds, but you can’t keep hogging Edward all to yourself when Boco, Murdoch and I have to pick up the slack,” Green Arrow appealed and Edward sighed and looked away from him. 

“I suppose it was rather selfish of me to dump all of my duties on the rest of you,” he admitted. “You came all this way to confront me?”

“Well, actually I was going to ask if you were afraid of heights,” Arrow queried bluntly and Edward paled in response as James immediately went to defend the blue engine.

“Don’t you go throwing around gossip like that!” James shouted at him. “Just typical of you to go throwing around rumours about people!”

“I did not throw rumours around I just asked if Edward was afraid of heights you garish red monstrosity!” Arrow retortedback at James. 

“Please, please!” Edward protested trying to defuse the situation. “This fighting isn’t going to get us anywhere!”

“But he thinks you’re afraid of heights!” James argued and Edward gave a defeated sigh in response.

“It’s because I am,” the blue engine admitted. He looked back at Arrow who looked particularly proud of himself. “How did you work it out?”

“The new bridge over the Maura being raised up and now you’re suddenly avoiding it and the fact you won’t travel on the viaduct unless absolutely necessary pretty much gave it away,” Arrow claimed and Edward blushed slightly.

“I suppose it is a tad obvious now that you put it that way,” Edward conceded. “I’m sorry for putting my work on the rest of you.”

“I mean, it’s not exactly fair on us but if you’re afraid of something then I think most of us understand,” Arrow maintained to Edward. 

“Stop blaming Edward, he can’t help it!” James yelled at Arrow and Arrow inwardly sighed.

He and James had never gotten along, never had and probably never would. It was fine, Arrow didn’t care all that much, he was used to people holding grudges or disliking him intently.

“Arrow, can I ask you to keep my fear of heights a secret? The Fat Controller knows about it and he’s trying to find a way around but-”

“But the Maura Bridge can’t exactly be worked around,” Arrow finished.

“I’m really sorry,” Edward apologised but Arrow simply waved him off with a wheesh of steam.

“It’s fine!” Arrow beseeched. “We all have fears, Edward.”

“Yes,” Edward gave him a tired smile. “That being said, could you keep my little secret confidential?”

Arrow was silent for a moment as James glared daggers at him. It wasn't until he saw Edward’s pleading face that he relented.

“Alright, you can stop glaring at me James, I promise I won’t tell anyone,” he promised and Edward gave him a smile of relief. 

“Thank you Green Arrow.”

“But people are going to complain, Boco’s pretty patient but I doubt he’ll do your jobs forever,” Arrow warned.

“I know,” Edward lamented. “But I’ll try to find something that works.”

A few nights later while pulling the Flying Kipper for Henry, Green Arrow caught sight of a pair of red and blue tender engines around the bridge over the Maura River and he smiled to himself knowingly.

Traintober Day 3: Twins!

Bill and Ben are Tank Engine Twins who work the industrial line between the Sodor China Clay Pits and the big harbor on Edward’s Branchline. They are proud of their work, but have fun too. They don’t always get along well, but most of the time they are practically joined at the piston. Sometimes, when there is nothing to do at the clay works, (due to blasting, unusually few pranks, or other slow seasons) they are allowed to “help out” at the harbor.

Many of the engines (and cranes, and workmen) will say that, at the harbor, the twins only do as much work as they create for themselves in the first place, but Percy knows the Twins only want an excuse for company. The Twins rather fancy the fellow Saddle Tank as an elder brother. Percy says they help keep him young again, like his time in the workshop.

The Twins were very impressed with Percy’s story of the promise he made with Thomas. They often wish they were as brave as Percy, especially when the drain floods and they are left stranded on opposite end of the line or with no work to do.

When Thomas saved them from the drain they almost told him they thought him perhaps as splendid an engine as Percy, although they ultimately decided he didn’t yet deserve the compliment. I wonder if Thomas would have taken it that way, don’t you?

And so, when the twins heard tell of Percy’s Plunge off the Pier (on a special order of a large batch of stone specifically for Brendam (Whoa Retcon, don’t get your frames in a bend) ), they were quite horrified; seeing their mentor in such a state, pushed into the sea? Quite possibly the worst fate for an engine they can now think of, even worse than scrap.

Some time later, lurking around the harbor yard, the twins overheard their parental figures, for lack of any better relationship term between locomotives, discussing a most distressing incident.

The Twins decided they wouldn’t stand it; if ever they were to meet this “Gordon” then they’d prove how vulgar branch line engines can be. They did not have to brainstorm long, they were not so busy thinking about what they’d say to Gordon when they next met to loose focus of their work. They already knew the worst fate that could befall an engine. Do you?

Trouble for the Tricky Twins

Bill and Ben, the tank engine twins, work at the china clay pits at Brendam Docks. Their work is important, but it can be hot and dirty. Sometimes this makes the twins naughty. One sweltering summer morning, they were feeling very naughty indeed.

“That’s my line of freight cars!” Bill snapped sourly.

“It’s not, it’s mine!” Ben argued angrily. “Yours is over there!”

“It’s mine!” Bill shouted.

“It’s not!” Ben replied.

“It’s mine!” Bill shouted.

“It’s not!” Ben replied.

Their friend, a big green diesel named BoCo, was worried. “Stop quarrelling, you two! If you two keep going on like that, the only thing you’ll get is—”

Suddenly, Bill and Ben charged forward. The two bumped each other right off the rails!

“—into trouble,” finished BoCo, as he counted to ten in his head.

“Silly!” Bill snapped sulkily.

“'Silly' yourself!” Ben argued angrily.

“Bill and Ben, behave yourselves, or I shall send you to your sheds!” bellowed Sir Topham Hatt. “It’s clear to me that we need another diesel to help out here, now that BoCo is leaving Edward’s branchline! He’s new, and keen to make a good impression!”

“If I were you,” whispered BoCo, “I’d get back to work right away.”

Bill and Ben glared at BoCo, who remembered they were still off the rails. “Um, I’ll fetch a crane,” he said.

As BoCo left, Sir Topham Hatt walked back to his car. He was starting to have doubts about his decision. “I hope this new diesel doesn’t cause more problems,” he thought. “I heard he has a poor cooling system.”

And Sir Topham Hatt was right. A cooling system is very important to a diesel. If they don’t have one, they will overheat and break down. And this new diesel had quite a poorly-built one.

As the new diesel strained up Gordon’s hill, he began to cough and pant. “Oh m-my grease and oil!” he gasped. “I wasn’t expecting such a climb!”

But then, the new diesel’s engine began to splutter! It began to stutter! And then it came to a complete stop, with black smoke pouring from his chassis. The diesel coughed, and sighed with annoyance.

Henry soon arrived with some workmen in a coach. The new diesel looked sheepish. “Sorry!” he said. “It’s my fault; I got teething troubles, you know!”

“I’ve been there,” Henry said sympathetically. “When I was young, I had a flawed design. But it was because of Sir Topham Hatt that I got to become Really Useful!”

“Do you think there’s hope for me, then?” asked the new diesel.

“I personally think so,” Henry replied.

The news soon spread. “Apparently, it’s 'teething troubles',” confided Thomas to Percy.

Later, Percy saw James at a signal. “This new diesel has 'teething troubles',” said Percy to James. “Pass it on!”

James saw Edward up ahead. “The new diesel has 'teething troubles',” said James. “Pass it on!”

But Edward saw an opportunity to tease Bill and Ben. He saw them at the China Clay Pits, having their faces cleaned. “Hey, you two!” said Edward. “This new diesel has 'toothache'! Good luck!”

As Edward chuffed away, Bill asked, “why did Edward wish us 'good luck'?”

“Because he knows we’ll need it!” shrilled Ben. “A diesel with 'toothache' must be the worst diesel of all!” Neither Bill or Ben heard Edward laughing as he puffed away.

Much later in the day, the dock manager came to see the twins. “HEY, YOU TWO! YOU MUST TAKE A TRAIN TO THE LITTLE WESTERN BRANCH LINE, AND STAY THERE FOR THE NIGHT! YOU CAN COME BACK IN THE MORNING!”

“Why do we have to stay the night?” asked Ben.

“SHUT UP!” said the manager, and he stormed away. Neither Bill nor Ben knew how to respond to that.

When they arrived at the Little Western, it was nighttime, and the twins looked tired. They each pulled up next to Duck.

“You do look glum!” said Duck.

“It’s this new diesel’s fault!” whined Ben. “He’s got 'toothache'!”

“He hasn’t got 'toothache', you silly engines, he’s got 'teething troubles'!” said Duck. “That means he’s new, and some parts of him don’t work properly! In this diesel’s case, it’s his cooling system. Henry had to rescue him earlier today.”

That made the twins feel a strange mixture of better and worse.

The next morning, when the twins were back at the China Clay Pits, the two were just preparing to take another train when they heard an unfamiliar horn. “OH, NO!” wailed the twins. “IT’S THE NEW DIESEL!”

And it was.

“Hello!” said the new diesel. “I’ll soon sort this train out! You two take the front and I’ll take the behind.” He made an awkward cough. “What fun!”

All went well as the twins and the new diesel set off. But as they reached the incline, the diesel began to slow down. Bill and Ben took notice of this.

“COME ON, COME ON!” yelled the twins. “PUSH HARDER, YOU SILLY SLOP-FILLED DIESEL!”

But it was no use. “I’m overheating again!” wailed the diesel. And overheat he did. His engine spluttered, and stuttered, and he came to a complete stop.

“OH, PAH!” roared Bill.

“Never mind,” soothed his driver. “Let’s try to finish the journey anyway! It means we’ll have to tow the diesel away as well.” “We’ll try,” said Ben.

It took all their strength, but they managed to finish their journey. That night, the twins were resting in the sheds when Sir Topham Hatt came to see them.

“Well done, Bill and Ben!” said Sir Topham Hatt. “I’ve sent the new diesel to the Dieselworks to be mended. I’ve called for another diesel to help out here for the time being.”

All Bill and Ben did for the rest of the night was hope that the diesel who was coming wasn’t Devious Diesel.

1960

As the 1960s began, the twins proved to be invaluable despite making some mistakes and causing accidents. Percy was deputized to speak on behalf of the Tidmouth Engines about purchasing Donald and Douglas, and they were acquired. However, there was another surprise in store as the Fat Controller also purchased Duck. The twins and Duck were relocated to the Tidmouth to Harwick branchline, while the fishing industry started to boom. The harbor board agreed to have D3102 be the pilot for Tidmouth and shunt the harbor. The harbor board also bought another Class 08 D3866. They were timid and barely spoke to anyone, just went on with their duties.

Edward's enthusiast train kept drawing more and more people to see the scenic side of Sodor, a slower-paced train that went from Tidmouth to Brendam and back.

In March of 1960, Edward had settled into his new life of pulling enthusiasts when James pulled into the yard. He complained about taking a Goods train, and Edward tried to make conversation with him while his fireman ran to get clearance from the signalman.

Edward sat and listened to James's complaints when he noticed James's driver climb out of his cab, annoyed. Edward watched him stop over to the signal box. James noticed it too and started to complain about the delay. Edward politely smiled and nodded along with James's rambling.

Soon, the pair heard the crunching of ballast, but Edward could still hear the driver and fireman in the signal box. To his shock, he heard giggling from James's cab. Confused, he looked and saw two schoolboys fiddling with James's controls. He hoped they didn't find his regulator when James suddenly shot forward as the school children jumped clear and scattered.

Edward and his crew gave chase, and James was yelling for help. Edward gave it his all, slowly but surely gaining on James. The main line was shut down as the two raced through Crosby. Edward was cheered on by the workmen and even Gordon, who was waiting for clearance as they shot past. As they neared Knapford, Edward's fireman wrapped the rope around James's buffer, and Edward slammed on his brakes.

They came to a stop just outside Knapford yard, and Edward's driver jumped across and closed James's regulator. James was eternally grateful to Edward, and all that Edward asked in return was to be treated better, to which James agreed.

Later that year, BR sent more types of diesel for trial at Sodor. It was stressful, and the engines and their crews had to work twice as hard to stay ahead. It was during this time that BR sent one of their newest diesel classes to Sodor. The class 28 Metrovick D5702 was sent to take over the Nor'wester.

Gordon was outraged. He had pulled the Express for nearly 40 years, and to have someone steal it from him made his safety valve burst. The diesel in question was rather polite and didn't try to start trouble. Gordon waited for him at Brendam Harbor as the Vicarstown bridge was out of order, and the poor diesel was stuck at Brendam for a week while BR and the Fat Controller came to an agreement.

While he was stuck there, the diesel, or Boco as he introduced himself, met Edward, and the two quickly became friends. It was also where he met Bill and Ben, the clay pit twins.

While Gordon was waiting for Boco, the twins played a prank on him, frightening him before Boco got the twins to scatter and an opportunity to introduce himself. Gordon surprisingly acted cordial towards the new engine, even wishing him well once he departed from Tidmouth. James, on the other hand, was shocked and called Gordon a traitor for befriending his replacement.

EDWARD: They've mostly grown out of it, thankfully. It's a relief that I don't get summoned to the clay pits because they've been caught messing around on the foreman's phone anymore.

The only time I ever caught them at home was when they decided to prank call Thomas after he broke up with Liora... They're so protective of their big sisters, so I couldn't be too angry, really. But I suspect that might be why they 'grew out' of that trick. Bill's impersonation of Lady is a lot more convincing than he realised...

Awh! Baby Yuebei loving dinos is everything to me!

Now I wanna see her family take her the dinosaur exhibit at a museum or science center or something. The science center near me has a whole exhibit for all things dinosaur related including fun interactive learning activities for little ones like fossil ecivission in rubber sand and life-size dinosaur animatronics in fake habitats we can walk through. I can't remember the rest rn, my favorite exhibit is the astronomy room! It's so dark in there, whole different vibe from all the others. But the whole building is like a science playground, the cubs(stoplight trio included, tho Redson is probably too much of a know-it-all to let himself enjoy it) would get a kick out of it. I can already imagine which exhibits some of them would enjoy.

yes! since Yuebei Xing as a character is tied to skulls and bones, I figured it would be cute that she'd have an interest in beings mostly know through their bones.

I know some larger museums have big sand pits to emulate excavations, like the one in New York. The zoo-aquarium in my granddads town has one of those walkable habitats too! The water/fake swamp was actually an aquarium for brackish water fish!

Now I'm loving the idea of Wukong letting the cubs go on a Museum Day to Megapolis, and ofc little kids love Natural History cus thats where the dinosaurs are! Tang pouts and wants to come along too - until Pigsy points out that he's a grown man that can pay his own ticket.

Wukong gets MK and Mei (and Redson since he's been pretty much adopted into the squad) to help bring the kids around to all the exhibits. When Wukong gets too tired to run around (especially cus of his condition), the Stoplight trio take over cub-wrangling duty while Wukong chills at the museum's cafe. Mei and MK treat it like a super-dangerous mission and try their best to engage in what's caught the cubs attentions. MK noticeably blanks in fear when he sees a model of Carboniferous bugs. Redson is a bit of smarty pants, but he's interested in the provided literature/the more obscure creatures on display. Tang is barely any help with babysitting since he gets as easily distracted as the cubs! XD

Yuebei is having the time of her life. Can't keep still for a moment - there's so many things to see and touch! And if there's an excavation pit - she's jumping straight in like a fox. No regards for her nice clothes, she's covered in sand and clay within seconds. Just absolutely feral over these bones.

Mei, pointing to a model: "Do you know what that is Yuebei?" Yuebei, holding a plush dino: "Ty-ranno-saur-us rex!" Mei: "Omg you're so good at this! What about that one?" Yuebei: "Pterro-dact-ill!" Mei: "Yup! Pterodactyl! It's a pretty cool dinosaur huh?" Yuebei, suddenly very serious: "Not dinosaur." Mei: "Huh?" Yuebei: "Not dinosaur." Red Son, reading a museum pamphlet: "She's correct. Pterosaurs are a different branch of archosaur separate from Dinosauria. It's like comparing snakes to lizards." Mei: "Omg! You're so smart, baby girl!" Yuebei: "Thank." (*smug "I know" face*)

If Macaque is around post S3, he helps out with wrangling the kids, but he'd quickly get over-stimulated by all the sights and sounds - so MK would take over for him so dear bama/baba can sit down with Wukong and de-stress. Wukong and Macaque might just wander off into the quiet art gallery if it's nearby (usually is in my experience) and poke fun at the historic art.

The Eclipse twins I feel are more into the astronomy side of the museum (hard not to since Space) and demand that they stay for a lecture on objects in the solar system. And if there's a planetarium - oh boy you know the cubs (and the grown-ups too) are gonna be entranced by the projections of all the stars and planets.

Traintober Day 8: Squawk Shock

Bill & Ben were feeling put-upon. A large order of china clay had caused them to be put in overtime, and the worst part of it was that they couldn't pull any jokes, japes, or good natured tomfoolery in days! Their manager tried to keep them calm and entertained, but as time went on, the urge for mischief grew in the twins.

“It’s terrible Bill!” Began Ben one night, “It took every pound of metal in my body not to reverse under the hoppers!”

‘I know!” Comforted Bill, “Life’s been so boring these past few weeks! It's a good thing there’s only a week or two of hard work for us! I’ve got a bucket-list of good stress relievers…”

“But Bill! I don’t think I can wait much longer! I have to do something!”

“...yeah, I definitely cannot wait anymore. We’re going down to Brendam tomorrow, but that begs the question: who shall be the victim…?”

The twins smiled deviously as they went over their targets. But as they went down the list, those smiles dissipated faster than a wisp of smoke. Timothy would be too easy, Marion would be oblivious to anything and everything, Cranky was low-hanging fruit, and BoCo would probably murder them. That left only one possible candidate without heading to the main-line.

“Are you sure Bill?

“Positive.”

“But when was the last time we got him?”

“The day we arrived.”

“That was 3 decades ago!”

“All the more reason to get him!”

The twins simply couldn’t fall asleep after that, and they stayed up all night, planning on a way to get Edward the Blue Engine.

The next morning, Edward was sizzling happily at the harbor station. He was just about to come off of his train and get to the sheds when, creaking and groaning, a line of trucks came crawling past him, with no engine to move them! Timothy, who was on the other line, yelped and banged into some wagons, but Edward just laughed.

“It’s been a while, you two! I can see you’re bringing your A-Game into this!”

Bill and Ben came out of their hiding place and snorted.

“Us, play tricks on you? Don’t be silly Edward.”

Of course, the expression on Ben’s face and the deadpan delivery betrayed everything.

“Come on you two, you’ll get a rest in a week or two! Surely you can wait that long!”

“No. No we can’t”

“So all bets are off then?”

“Yes. Yes they are.”

Edward just smiled.

“Ah well. Good luck to you two!”

“Thanks Edward!”

“Ben, shush!” 

The twins tried all sorts of tricks. They tried adding more wagon’s to Edward’s trains. They tried hiding themselves on his trains with their brakes hard on. They even tried making him a middle engine! But nothing seemed to work. Worse still, each of their schemes took a while to prepare with their workload, so half the time, Edward could guess what they were doing anyways. The twins weren’t the only ones on edge however. Edward was beginning to get tired of always being on guard for any of the twin’s tricks. It got to the point of affecting his work.

“You should stand your ground Edward.” said BoCo a few days later, “Or else it will never end!”

“I know BoCo… but”

“But nothing! I get that the twins need to let out some stress, believe me I’ve gone giddy seeing them scurry round, but boundaries must be set!”

As the two engines were discussing, another pair of engines were also scheming in the night.

“Should we do it?”

“Why not Ben?”

“It seems unfair to weaponize his weakness” “And your point is…?

“...Nevermind. But what about the clay pits? We left the work-half finished!”

“Eh, we can do it later! Now let's get some sleep!”

The next day, Edward was once again at the harbor station as he heard the whistles of Bill and Ben. He sighed and prepared for any tricks, but he was surprised to see something else.

“You two, what on earth are you doing?!”

Bill and Ben were not only pushing the train, but the train was unbraked with no brake-van and dangerously out-of-date stock. It seemed like they were desperate enough to just want a reaction. In that department, they certainly succeeded. But they were heading for trouble. With the trucks in front, they couldn’t see BoCo on their line!

“Watch out!” Shrieked Edward in an uncharacteristically shrill voice.

But it was too late, as both trains collided with one another!

Lucky for them, they didn’t hit BoCo, but rather his train, and being at the back of their train helped them escape any serious damage. But they had something else to deal with. Edward came up to them, but instead of yelling at them, he began belting out unintelligible hoots and squawking! It was a while before he started to speak actual words, and even then, he laid into the twins until they had the paint blistered off of them! BoCo just sat back in awe.

The twins had to stay and clear up the mess. They were looking forward to a nice rest back at the clay pits, but their manager immediately put them to work with the backlog they had left. I think it’ll be another three decades before they even think to play games with Edward again, don’t you?
