Honestly love the wild cat interpretations of him or even any distinct domestic cat breed. I considered designing him off a lynx because of his big ass pointy ears but instead went with a sleek, domestic black cat look. My game theory is that he’s likely based on ancient Egyptian illustrations of cats which would most likely make him a Egyptian wild cat or jungle cat, possibly with melanism causing his all black look.

Boa noite! Então, o conceito dos híbridos planetários até onde eu sei partiu do próprio Dalton, né.

(Para quem não sabe, o termo descreve seres intermediários entre espíritos planetários, com uma essência mais astral, e espíritos angelicais, que operam por isso de um modo misto, somando a eficácia astral de manifestação com a orientação divina do lado angelical. Porém, em contrapartida, esses espíritos possuem uma única aplicação mágica apenas, em vez de abrangerem uma ampla gama de funções ligadas ao planeta, como costuma ser o caso da maioria dos espíritos planetários)

Até onde eu sei, ele identifica como híbridos planetários alguns dos nomes que aparecem nos pantáculos da Clavicula Salomonis, como Nogahiel, encarregado dos poderes de magnetismo no primeiro pantáculo de Vênus, e Parasiel do primeiro pantáculo de Júpiter, que encontra tesouros. E aí o que ele fez foi derivar sigilos a partir dos nomes dessas entidades no quadrado mágico do planeta e conjurá-los.

Procurar por "híbridos planetários" não vai render muitos resultados, já que é uma terminologia dele, e o método dele também me parece uma inovação, em termos de bibliografia, embora seja uma inovação radicada na tradição. Nesse sentido, ele está meio que fazendo magia experimental e, a não ser que ele inspire outras pessoas a seguirem o mesmo método, você não vai achar muitos relatos por aí mesmo. O que dá para achar mais fácil são relatos de quem usa esses pantáculos de Salomão. Certo? Obrigado, amigo, forte abraço.

Gundam Barbatos and the Occult

I recently started watching Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron Blooded Orphans, and I was giddy when the Gundam Barbatos boots up for the first time and you see this symbol:

This symbol is the sigil of the demon Barbatos, found in the Lesser Key of Solomon (Lemegeton Clavicula Salomonis), a grimoire compiled in the 17th century from much earlier occult writings going back centuries.

Barbatos himself is described as a Duke among demons that was once an angel numbered amongst the Virtues. He has a number of abilities, such as revealing hidden treasure or even allowing humans to understand the speech of animals, and can even reveal knowledge of events in the past or the future.

It's also fitting that there are 72 Gundam frames in the series, and 72 demons listed in the Ars Goetia of the Lesser Key of Solomon.

Catei aqui o Secrets of Planetary Magic, do Warnock, que é minha referência e ele mesmo usa como referência, em questões de fases da lua, a Clavicula Salomonis. Cito:

It will suffice thee merely to notice the Moon after her combustion, or conjunction with the Sun, especially just when she quits his beams and appeareth visible. For then it is good to make all experiments for the construction and operation of any matter. That is why the time from the New unto the Full Moon is proper for performing any of the experiments of which we have spoken above. But in her decrease or wane it is good for War, Disturbance, and Discord. Likewise the period when she is almost deprived of light, is proper for experiments of invisibility, and of Death. But observe inviolably that thou commence nothing while the Moon is in conjunction with the Sun, seeing that this is extremely unfortunate, and that thou wilt then be able to effect nothing; but the Moon quitting his beams and increasing in Light, thou canst perform all that thou desirest.

Spirit Compass Rose

“Most of the spirits summoned are tied to points on a compass, four Emperors are tied to the cardinal points (Carnesiel in the East, Amenadiel in the West, Demoriel in the North and Caspiel in the South), and sixteen Dukes are tied to cardinal points, inter-cardinal points, and additional directions between those.

There are an additional eleven Wandering Princes, totalling thirty-one spirit leaders who each rule several to a few dozen spirits.” - From “The Goetia of Dr Rudd” by Stephen Skinner and David Rankine (2010).

Each quadrant is assigned to a lassical element, and the appropriate season for the northern hemisphere is assigned to the cardinal points e.g. Spring for the East (Dawn), Summer for the South (Noon) Autumn for the West (Sunset), Winter for the North (Midnight). The order given here is clockwise.

The names of the Spirits all end in "El", indicating they are angelic or divine in nature.
