Les Misérables 1980
I have already talked about Les Misérables , but I wanted to expand on the subject a little more, by detailing the three French versions as best I can !!
This strange idea of adapting Victor Hugo's novel into a musical came from Alain Boublil after he attended a performance of the musical Oliver! play in London ( he reports having perceived in his mind a resemblance between Oliver Twist and Gavroche )
Carried away by what he considers (rightly) as a flash of genius, he will work in collaboration with Claude-Michel Schönberg and Jean-Marc Natel to compose the music and lyrics for the future album
Fortunately the album will experience its small success with the public, this victory will make the creators grow wings who will launch head first into the torrent of stage creation !
This heavy task will be entrusted to Robert Hossein , an French director, actor, screenwriter, dialogue writer , who will use his fame to the best of his ability to promote the show (which he would be criticized for and mocked , trample his enthusiasm)
The very first production of Les Misérables was created and then performed in Paris at the Palais des Sports in September 1980
Scheduled for a minimum of eight weeks, it will be played for sixteen weeks, with the Palais des sports no longer available beyond that With 107 performances, it attracted around 500,000 spectators
( I don't know how it works in the United Kingdom and the United States at the same time but in France it will be necessary to reach the end of the 90s for the musicals to travel throughout the country + outside of France )
DISTRIBUTION :
Maurice Barrier : Jean Valjean
Jean Vallée : Javert
Rose Laurens : Fantine
Yvan Dautin : Mr Thénardier
Marie-France Roussel : Mrs Thénardier
Maryse Cédolin / Sylvie Camacho / Priscilla Patron : little Cosette
( alternately the little girls also played little Eponine and Azelma )
Fabienne Guyon : Cosette
Marianne Mille : Éponine
Cyrille Dupont / Fabrice Ploquin / Florence Davis : Gavroche
Gilles Buhlmann : Marius
Christian Ratellin : Enjolras
René-Louis Baron : Combeferre
Dominique Tirmont : Mr Gillenormand
Anne Forrez : Mrs Gillenormand
Claude Reva : Storyteller
There remain too few archives of the original shows, unfortunately at the time filming in theaters and performance halls was not a common reflex ...
I did my best to find as much as possible :
youtube
youtube
Unreleased Javert song, not kept in the album and show ⤵️
youtube
youtube
The Full Live Recording of the Show :
youtube
ANECDOTES :
If I'm not mistaken, this is the only version that uses the character of Azelma , the sister of Eponine and Gavroche
...
Cyrille Dupont, one of the three kids who played Gavroche, was known vocally for singing the theme song for Nobody's Boy : Remi
( In French " Remi sans famille " ) :
youtube
...
Florence Davis one of three actors playing Gavroche was a girl ?!
Strange artistic choice ? Or last-rescue liner ??
youtube
...
Robert Hossein was so marked by this show that two years later, he made a film adaptation of the original novel !!
Starring the legend Lino Ventura as Jean Valjean and the very young Emmanuel Curtil as Gavroche (this little boy is today an ICONIC voice actor in France : Jim Carrey, Mike Myers, Matthew Perry and many many others characters )
The Full Movie :
youtube
While I'm writing about the 1990 and 2024 versions, I recommend you take a look at my Masterlist :)

Folk Ways for an Acadian or French Canadian folk practitioner
I want to start an ongoing list of Acadian and French Canadian religious and popular folk ways that I've been learning about for the last two years. My references will be at the end for further reading!
Blessing a candle on Candlemas (Feb. 2) with holy water will allow you to have a light whenever there is sickness and storms hitting your home. Traditionally on Candlemas, the light is lit and guided through every room in the house to bless all its corners for the year. It was even paraded in the farmer's fields. (Dupont)
The 25th April, on St. Mark's Day, is the ideal day to bless your fields or garden before putting in the first seeds. This ensures the growing food to be blessed by this saint. (Maillet)
Animals have been known to speak in human tongues on Christmas Eve. (Maillet)
If you feel that nothing is going right in your day, your homemade bread sours, or general bad luck assails you, simply boil some holy medals. (Dupont)
The first three days of the month of August, the ocean waters are known to have healing properties, and it wouldn't hurt to dip your feet in it. (Chiasson)
It was customary to trace crosses on windows using holy water when a storm would hit. (Lacroix)
To find a lost object, simply toss a rosary or a pocket metal rosary over your shoulder. The foot of the cross will point in the direction where your lost object might be located. (Dupont)
To have good weather on your wedding day, be sure to hang your rosary on your clothes line the day before. (Dupont)

Read your Childhood AU for Izuku growing in Paris...so add this as a bonus:
...Izuku getting the ladybug miraculous and Chloe getting the cat
//...*smirks* Nonnie, you have intrigued me with creative determination. And took time to draw this up for you~
*cracks knuckles and stretches back and arms* With that out of the way, I think this would be a VERY interesting concept. Only because if this is ONE of the paths Izuku goes on in the Childhood Friends AU, then perhaps it would play out like this:
If we're going back to Origins this time around...but with Izuku and Chloe instead of Marinette and Adrien...well...
That would mean Emilie is gone by this time (remember in Childhood Friends AU part one, Emilie was still alive when Izuku first moved to Paris. So it would be *count fingers* probably maybe nine years? Almost a decade would've passed. Let's assume a year before the beginning of the last year of collège, Emilie mysteriously vanished. Thus enters Hawkmoth.
BUT WAIT~!
We could maybe change that up a bit~
For example, considering we have Chat Noir!Chloe this time around, what if Hawkmoth was...I dunno...Audrey?
"But Riri, how?! Audrey is in New York at this time?!"
But that's the beauty of it~
People would think that Audrey is in New York, there is no possible way that The Queen of Style would be Hawkmoth.
"But what purpose would Audrey have the Miraculous?"
With Emilie alive, Gabriel wouldn't have use for the Miraculous.
This means that Tomoe Tsurugi might have to change targets.
And who better than a fellow woman in the rich and powerful?
Audrey would be perfect for the role considering that she is 1) Someone familiar in the "Cult of the Wealthy" if we've seen in the episode Gabriel Agreste , and 2) She is someone who also is an ambitious individual that might have goals in getting a wish.
What Audrey's wish might be, who knows?
So, in turn, Audrey is given the Butterfly Miraculous and is soon named: Queen Butterfly.
With that in mind, Audrey tries out her powers as Queen Butterfly.
Meanwhile, in Collège Françoise Dupont, a new school year has jut begun and Izuku is surprisingly in a different class than Marinette and Adrien.
Instead of being in Bustier's class, he ended up in the class of the infamous and strict Science Teacher, Olga Mendeleiev.
This caused Chloe to switch herself over to that class too.
And so, while on the way to school, Izuku spotted an old man trying to cross the road.
Naturally being the good boy he was, he helped him cross and even carried his bag for him.
"Thank you, young man. How may I ever repay you?"
Izuku assures the old man that no payment is necessary and soon waves goodbye before heading into school.
A smile was on the old man's face, straightening his posture as he walked away, satisfied and intrigued.
A few minutes later, Chloe was running late. Curses for her alarms not waking her up or Jean Claude not doing his job. Ridiculous, utterly ridiculous!
And before she got out the car, she spotted an old man on the ground, groaning in pain.
Normally, Chloe would ignore the hermit of a geezer and go on her way.
But she then paused, strangely hearing a voice of Inko Midoriya in her head saying in a soft tone:
"Have a nice day, Chloe-chan! And remember, a kindness given, will receive kindness back~"
Groaning, Chloe reluctantly helped the old man up, and asked if he was okay. Even clicking her fingers to order her driver to take the man to the nearest clinic to help him.
As she stormed away to school, and the old man was driven to some local doctor...a voice spoke inside of the man's shirt once he was alone.
"Master...I don't think she'd be a good candicate."
The man would smile, stroking at his goatee, "Who knows? Sometimes the most unlikely people have the greatest destinies."
With being in a different class, Izuku was no longer Kim's target of bullying...but that means someone else became the target.
Ivan still turns into Stoneheart after being teased by Kim.
Izuku springs into action. While he doesn't have a quirk, it didn't mean he was going to stay still! All Might would do the same!
He rushed out the doors of the school, only to be knocked down by a girl with reddish brown hair and glasses as she ran past him.
Marinette spots him, and helps him up.
"I should follow after Alya. She's new in Paris and I don't want her to get into trouble on her first day here!"
"I'll go with you."
The two soon follow after Alya, but soon were captured by the police and escorted back to their homes to be safe.
Chloe, meanwhile, was already home when she saw something shining on her vanity desk.
At the same time, Izuku was in his own room when he saw the strange looking jewellery box.
"What's that doing here?"
The two of them open it at the same time.
When Chloe first saw Plagg, she immediately screamed and started throwing stuff at him while yelling "EWWWW SOME FLYING RAT IS IN MY ROOM!"
"I'm not a flying rat. That's Mullo. And I'm hungry!"
Meanwhile, Izuku was much calmer when faced to face with Tikki.
"So...lemme get this straight...you're a Kwami, a being that has powers to give me and become a superhero?"
Tikki would smile in pride, "That is correct!"
"....Alright, tell me what I should do, Tikki-san."
Tikki is ecstatic when explaining about the Miraculous and his role as the new Ladybug holder, even though it is a first in centuries to have a male as a holder. But she liked him because of how courageous and kind he was.
"Tikki-san, Spots On!"
Thus, Izuku transforms into Tīrumushi (literally translate into Teal Bug in Japanese)
Meanwhile, it took a few more minutes for Chloe to calm down, and Plagg was feeling a headache come on.
"So...I can turn into a hero with this tacky ring?"
"It's not tacky, and yes. All you have to say is Plagg, Claws Out! to transform and then--"
"PLAGG! CLAWS OUT!"
"Wait, hold on ya brat, Ineedtoexplaaaaaaaaain---!!!"
Thus, Chloe Bourgeois turns into Féline Noire.
With being instructed by Tikki on how to use his abilities as a Ladybug Hero, Tīrumushi easily found Stoneheart and mentally started strategising on how to defeat the Akuma.
"Although...did Tikki-san not say that I would have a partner?"
As if on cue, Féline Noire rushed into the scene and kept whacking the monster like villain with her bo-staff.
"AHHHH! MISS! YOU SHOULDN'T BE DOING THAT--"
But it was too late, as Stoneheart started to grow bigger with each hit that the cat heroine inflicted.
Looking frustrated, Tīrumushi used his yo-yo to grab at Féline Noire and pulled her away from the akuma and scolded her.
"Are you out of your mind?!" The Ladybug hero chided at the bored looking feline heroine, as he untied her and folded his arms, "Now the villain is going to be even harder to defeat now!"
This caused the blonde cat to roll her eyes as she scoffed, "Well, how else were we supposed to defeat this creep, huh? Hold hands and sing kum-ba-ya to it?" She said sarcastically.
"...Unbelievable. And you're supposed to be my partner?!"
"Partner?" Féline Noire looked him up and down for a moment then snorted, "Dressed like that? Surely not. Besides, I don't work with weirdos that don't have a fashion bone in their body.
Tīrumushi smacked a hand over his masked face as he groaned, rolling his eyes upwards, as if wondering to Kami-sama on how this girl has gotten a powerful object like the Miraculous of the Cat?
Remembering how All Might had many partners in his career, Tīrumushi realizes that if they were going to defeat Stoneheart...
"We're going to have to work together--"
"No thanks."
Tīrumushi's jaws dropped, "Excuse me?"
"Listen here, Mister Spots, and listen good."
"My name is Tīrumushi--"
"I don't care what sushi you are--"
Tīrumushi breathed in quietly to reign in his temper...which is a first.
"The name is Féline Noire~ Remember that after I defeat the monster and save the day~"
"W-wait, Féline Noire, you can't just--" And the male hero sighed as he watched her pole-vault away and after Stoneheart, "...Looks like I'm going to have to think of a plan and fast."
With that said, Tīrumushi swung his yo-yo and swung after them.
It was like she forgot his warning, because soon Féline Noire kept on attacking Stoneheart once more.
When Tīrumushi arrives in the football stadium where they were, he observed them at first.
But then his eyes widened when he saw that Alya and Marinette was there also, Alya filming the whole thing and Marinette looking nervous and worried.
When Stoneheart picked up a goat post and net to throw at Féline Noire, who dodged easily and---
It felt like the world was going in slow motion.
Seeing his childhood friend in danger. Marinette was in danger.
'What am I doing? Why am I running? Why can't I stop?'
"LUCKY CHARM!"
Tīrumushi activated his powers and soon grabbed the object that appeared before him, and it was like his body moved first before his brain. He didn't know why he just suddenly started to remember his past...before he came to Paris.
"Do you think...I could...be a hero, too?"
It was a question that he would ask himself at the time. Despite not having a quirk, could he live to be a hero like All Might?
No.
Memories of his book of heroes, notes he wrote himself on each person of their strengths, weaknesses...devising plan after plan of scenarios against villains of all shapes, sizes and backgrounds...
"I can be a hero now."
Tīrumushi kicked the goal post away from the girls, watching it fly to the side and landed in front of them heroically. Alya's eyes shined in amazement while Marinette looked in wonderment.
"Are you girls okay?" The hero would ask, looking over them in concern.
Alya squealed, but then her eyes widened and pointed behind him.
"BUG BOY, LOOK OUT!"
The Ladybug hero then turned around easily as he soon rushed at the monster, holding his Lucky Charm as he then picked up a hose and held it close, and had a big smile on his face. Like All Might would. To assure the citizens he could save them with a smile.
"COME AND GET ME, VILLAIN!"
Stoneheart roared, already having captured Féline Noire and now held her in his rock-like fist, and was now making a grab for Tīrumushi next. Smirking, he let himself be captured, and then turned his head to look at Marinette.
"MISS! TURN ON THE HOSE!"
Marinette snapped out of her daze as she rushed towards the faucet that connected the hose nearby, frantically turning on the water as she watched how Stoneheart's fist opened thanks to the object of Tīrumushi's (which seemed to be some sort of diver's suit) being filled with water.
Tīrumushi spotted a dark glowing ball of paper on the ground and soon picked it up, and broke it. He saw the butterfly fluttering away, and he narrowed his eyes as he twisted his yo-yo and reached to capture it.
"No more evil doing for you, little akuma!"
He caught it, purified it as Tikki had told him, and released it.
Tīrumushi smiled as he watched the white butterfly float away happily, and waved at it.
"Bye bye, little butterfly..."
Looking towards Stoneheart, he watched as the stones crumbled away and Ivan was back to normal. Quickly with fast reflexes, Tīrumushi caught Féline Noire in his arms after she was released, then looked down at the feline heroine with a small smile.
"Well, well...what was it you said about you saving the day~?"
He was expecting some sort of back talk from the cat, but he was surprised she was quiet. The green haired hero looked down at her and saw she was staring at him strangely, mouth parted and eyes were...were they sparkling?
"Wow..." She would murmur, Tīrumushi slowly placed her down and she then flustered for a moment, "That...you did...wow..."
"You said wow, twice."
A bright smile was featured on his face, while Féline Noire looked embarrassed and huffed.
"You did exceptionally. And I...I was totally useless..."
"Well, maybe next time you'd listen to me and we could've worked together like a team," He then offered a fist bump out to her, and softened his gaze towards her, "Hopefully we won't be seeing anymore villains like that Stoneheart fellow, anytime soon. But if we do? We'll be ready, together. Okay?"
Féline Noire looked at the offered fist, then had a small smile before she connected her own towards his.
"Pound it."
Needless to say, Tīrumushi and Féline Noire thought that this was a start of something amazing.
Alya rushed towards them to get an interview, but with Tīrumushi's earrings beeping, he knew he had to go before he transform.
So, he escaped, and left Féline Noire to deal with the reporter.
Who, in turn, made the TealBlog.
Marinette, on that day, felt her heart skip a beat at the hero.
"Wow...he really was...Miraculous."

Hindsight - Chapter 1
[First] [Previous] [Next]
Hindsight
Chapter 1
Hector Damocles prided himself in his work. College Francis Dupont housed the children of the elite and influential, from the daughter of the mayor to the son of a famous Fashion Mogul. He also prided himself in his skills when handling a delicate situation. One such situation was when a pupil not only cheated on a test but stole from and attacked another student. To Hector, there was only one course of action. Expulsion in front of all her peers.
He didn’t back down from his position, not when the girl’s parents protested it, not when a member of his staff approached him and told him there was no way the student could’ve cheated on a test, not when her score matched up with her previous scores and that the student, she attack was acting perfectly fine. Hector didn’t hesitate when telling Caline to hand in her notice. He had made it clear on everyone’s contracts that they were not to question him on such matters.
To Hector, everything was perfect.
Across the city, at Jeanne D’Arc Creative Arts College, Caline Bustier was openly gaping at her contract.
“There’s no exceptions list.” Said Caline, getting a frown from Arthur Coleman.
“What do you mean ‘exceptions list’?” Asked Arthur, leaning forwards.
“At my previous workplace, there was a list of students that we weren’t allowed to punish.” Said Caline, “The Mayor’s daughter for one.”
“And that was written into your contract?” Asked Arthur, putting his fingertips together, “Well, Ms. Bustier, here at Jeanne D’Arc we have no such stipulations, if a student is misbehaving or bullying another student they are to be treated like any other student and punished.”
Caline was quiet, soaking in the new information.
“Now, if that is everything, I believe we have work to do.” Said Arthur going to stand up.
“Wait!” Gasped Caline, “At my previous workplace we had a student that was expelled based on accusations that didn’t make sense, the principle didn’t investigate the claims and refused to after he expelled her.”
Arthur mulled over the information, before asking the student’s name.
A few hours later, Tom Dupain and Sabine Cheng were at the school doors with their daughter in tow. Arthur looked Marinette over, noting that amount of makeup under her eyes, as well as the slight limp in her left leg.
“Fallen down the stairs recently, Ms. Dupain-Cheng?” Asked Arthur, getting shocked looks from the girl’s parents.
“No, I jumped down a trap door and landed awkwardly.” Said Marinette, making Arthur frown.
“A new member of staff made us aware of your expulsion from your previous school, as well as your creativity.” Said Arthur, as he led the group to his office, “Caline told us about the lack of a proper investigation and how the evidence was circumstantial at best. As well as the schools ‘course of action’ when it came to the bullying of students.”
Tom and Sabine exchanged a worried look at his statement.
“Rest assured, this school has a zero-tolerance policy on bullying and will punish the aggressor as we see fit.” Said Arthur, “As well as a full and proper investigation into the matter. Now, shall we begin with the tour?”
H
Marinette nervously shifted as she waited outside her form room. The receptionist reassuringly squeezed her shoulder, before knocking on the door to the class.
“Alright, everyone, we have a new student today,” Said the teacher, Mr. Stolberg, “She’s a new transfer and I expect everyone, Allan, Claude, to be kind and welcoming.”
There was a half-hearted muttering, before Mr. Stolberg called them in, “Everyone, this is Marinette Dupain-Cheng, Ms. Dupain-Cheng, meet your classmates.”
There was the sound of someone choking, making everyone look at them, a dark-skinned boy was thumping his desk mate on the back.
“I thought I said everyone was to be kind and welcoming, Allan.” Sighed Mr. Stolberg, making the dark-skinned boy sit up straight.
“Hey, this was all Claude!” Protested the boy, as Claude, a light skinned boy with brown hair and eyes coughed up a ball of paper.
“Dude, again with the spitballs?” asked a blonde-haired girl with tanned skin.
“That’s enough, Allegra.” Said Mr. Stolberg, “Now, I’m going to need a volunteer to show Marinette around.”
Allegra’s hand shot up as she practically launched herself from her seat, “I’ll do it!”
Mr. Stolberg looked around, seeing a few hands up, before he turned back to Allegra, “All right, Allegra, since you don’t have a desk mate, you can show Marinette around.”
There was collective groan, as Marinette made her way over to the blonde girl.
“Hi, I’m Allegra Musique, but everyone calls me Allegra, well, since it’s my name and- I’m babbling aren’t I, hehe, Sorry, I don’t meet many celebrities.” Babbled Allegra, giggling nervously.
Marinette quirked an eyebrow, “Oo-kay,” Said Marinette, slowly, “I’m not a celebrity, but, sure.”
“W-what do you mean you’re ‘not a celebrity’?!” Exclaimed Allegra, “You are Marinette Dupain-Cheng, right?”
“Yeah, have been since I was born.” Said Marinette, taken aback by Allegra’s outburst.
“You did design Jagged Stone’s Sunglasses and CD cover?” Asked Allegra, getting a nod from Marinette, “You did design the Messenger bowler hat that was modelled by Adrien Agreste?” Marinette nodded again, “Aren’t also working on a multi-coloured sequin jacket that was commissioned last week?!”
“How’d you know about that last one?” Asked Marinette, as Allegra went red with embarrassment.
“She’s a fan of your work.” Said Claude, leaning forwards, “Personally, I prefer magic tricks to clothes.”
Marinette glanced him over, before her mouth said, “I can tell.” Before Marinette clapped a hand over her mouth.
Allan laughed, “Oh, she’s gonna fit right in.” As he thumped Claude on the back, who cracked a smile.
H
Alya internally groaned as the new teacher went through the lesson, Ms. Bustier never made the class so boring. Alya saw Adrien rub his wrist, before remembering that the Teacher had ordered him to write Lila’s notes for her.
Strangely enough, Lila had walked into the school with a spring in her step, a far cry from how Marinette had supposedly injured her. Alya had made a group chat with all of her classmates, excluding Lila and Chloe. After Marinette was gone, everyone had started to notice how some of Lila’s stories did not add up. They all agreed that they owed Marinette a very big apology.
H
Three months later, Marinette had a new friend group in her new school, she had introduced the trio to her old Classmates, Allan and Claude nearly fainting when they met Nino and Mylene, respectively.
“We’ve managed to convince Marinette to audition for a role in an upcoming production,” Said Claude, leaning back in a chair in Marinette’s living room, “it became a group effort after everyone heard her singing voice.”
“Wait, Marinette can sing?” Gasped Rose, looking at the dark-haired girl.
“It’s not as good as Allegra’s.” Mumbled Marinette, her face going red.
“Bullshit.” Said Allegra, flipping her braid over her shoulder, “You build everyone up and try to make everyone forget about you, if anyone of us is going to be famous, we’re going to drag you to the top with us.”
“What did she sing?” Asked Alya, resting against her arms.
“History has its eyes on you.” Said Allan, through a mouthful of croissant.
“Yeah, we tried to get her to rap once,” Shuddered Allegra, getting a pillow thrown at her, “She bit her tongue while doing it though.”
Everyone stared at Marinette, “I panicked, and my jaw seized up.” Defended Marinette.
“We’re going to try to train her in the art of rap.” Said Allan, throwing his arm around Marinette’s shoulders.
The ground suddenly shook.
“ADRIKINS!” Screamed a high, shrill voice, “WHERE ARE YOU?!”
The sound of a pot breaking, swiftly followed by a thud, made everyone look up, just as Adrien slid into the room.
“Adrien…” Said Nino, as the ground shook again, “What did you do?”
No one noticed Marinette slip out of the room.
A few moments later, Ladybug swung past and landed on the roof.
The giant form of Chloe Bourgeois stomped around the city. Chat Noir landed next to Ladybug and winced.
“Okay, I’ve got to admit,” Said Chat, rubbing his arm, “I did not expect this to happen when I woke up today.”
Ladybug glanced over at Chat, before doing a double take.
“Chat, what happened to your arm?” Asked Ladybug, turning towards her partner.
“A, uh, ‘friend’ gripped it too tightly.” Said Chat, rubbing his hand over the cast.
“That ‘friend’ better not still be a friend.” Muttered Ladybug, readying her yoyo, “Any idea where the Akuma could be?”
“Picture in her hand.” Said Chat, pointing to an over-large piece of paper in Chloe’s hand.
“Okay, I’ll trip her, you get ready to destroy the picture.” Said Ladybug, before throwing her yoyo into the air, “Lucky Charm!”
A second yoyo fell into Ladybug’s hand, who grinned and spotted two Lamp posts standing opposite each other. Ladybug quickly hooked one yoyo around the two lamp posts and then looped the second around Chloe’s legs. Chloe face planted the floor, dropping the picture in her hand.
Char quickly Cataclysmed it, releasing the Akuma within it. Ladybug caught the Akuma, purified it and then cast the cure, restoring everything to normal. Unbeknownst to Ladybug and Chat Noir, a woman glared at Ladybug, before rushing forwards.
Ladybug froze the second she felt someone’s hands on her ears, before the earrings were ripped from her earlobes. In a flash, Chat had the woman pressed against the ground, with the earrings in hand. Chat almost reared back when he recognised Nathalie, before he looked up at Ladybug and his stomach dropped the moment, we saw her. Marinette knelt on the floor, blood coursing from her ears, her hands to occupied to cover her face. The sight of the camera was the cherry on top, letting Chat know Ladybug’s, Marinette’s, identity had just been thrown to the wind. Looking down, Chat spotted something on Nathalie’s chest, a small peacock fan shaped broach. Gently removing it, Chat watched as it changed its shape into the same style of broach, but vastly different from what it had been.

Le Parc by Angelin Preljocaj (Aurélie Dupont & Nicolas Le Riche)

Desse quatrilhão existe e reside a compaixão.

MiGano Pieces
Hand-sculpted game pieces for MiGano, a collectable miniatures game developed in 2005 that was meant to simulate "space chess" type games glimpsed but never fully explained in sci-fi films.
The line never saw release due to RedStagg Games being bought out by DuPont. The level of detail on these miniatures would not have survived the shift from concept to production.

Folk Ways for an Acadian or French Canadian folk practitioner - Folk Spells
While Acadian and Quebecois societies didn't call these practices witchcraft by any means, these little prayers and moments of hope and action in situations where one lacks control over the outcome can be used in folk spells today. For safety disclaimers, do NOT consume plants you don't know, or water that hasn't been treated. And trust your doctor.
To ensure the bread rises well, do the Sign of the Cross over the proofed dough.
When you have bronchitis (apart from nowadays going to your doctor!), wear a red flannel shirt.
Keep a piece of the Host in your wallet to ensure you never go broke.
Keeping a rabbit's foot or a piece of snakeskin on you brings you luck and money.
Water gathered from a stream before the sunrise of Easter Sunday can be used to heal eye issues and other ailments.
May Water, which is gathered from the melted snow on the first of May, is blessed all year round, and can be used to bless or cure pretty much anything.
To avoid misfortune, a new bride must carry with her to her new home a fresh new broom and a box of salt. (In this day and age, anyone can do it!)
To avoid lightning strikes on your home during the year, preserve a piece of burnt wood or charred remains from the Christmas fire in your abode. It is also useful to send a prayer to Saint Barbara for this protection (which can be composed by you, or you can use the following traditional French prayer here): "Sainte Barbe et Sainte Fleur, protégées du Seigneur/ sur la croix de mon Sauveur, Où ce que le tonnerre ira, Sainte Barbe le conduira."
In folk medicine, when someone had a weakness about them, they were suggested to drink sea water. Do NOT do this! Instead, you can use sea water in a symbolic way, in any way you see fit that won't endanger your health.
Cultivating twigs of a spruce, fir, or cedar tree and arranging them in the shape of a cross, then blessed with Holy Water, is to be arranged on Palm Sunday and hung in every room of your house to protect against storms, shipwreck, disease and misfortune.
