Cicaplast Baume B5 Review
Today, we're diving into the ingredients of the Cicaplast Baume B5 and exploring the benefits it can bring to our skin. Let’s get started!
Key Ingredients
This product features several humectants, a couple of emollients, and its star ingredient—Centella Asiatica.
Humectants
The humectants in Cicaplast Baume B5 include glycerin, propanediol, panthenol, and butylene glycol.
Humectants act as water magnets, attracting moisture from the atmosphere and drawing it to the surface of the skin.
This keeps your skin hydrated, which results in soft and plump skin. Hydration is key, and these ingredients help achieve just that.
Panthenol (Pro Vitamin B5)
The reason we have B5 in the product’s name is due to panthenol, also known as pro vitamin B5. This powerful humectant doesn’t just hydrate but also has strong anti-inflammatory properties.
Anti-inflammatory ingredients soothe and calm the skin, reducing redness and irritation. Thanks to panthenol, this product is particularly beneficial for sensitive or inflamed skin.
Emollients
Now, let's talk about the two main emollients in this product—polyisobutene and shea butter. Emollients form a protective layer on top of the skin, helping to lock in moisture and keep the skin feeling soft.
They also prevent moisture loss from the skin’s surface.
That silky, slippery feel you get when applying the product? That’s thanks to dimethicone, which also enhances the product’s texture, making it glide smoothly across the face.
Star Ingredient: Centella Asiatica
The true standout ingredient in Cicaplast Baume B5 is Centella Asiatica, also known as Cica. This botanical herb is known for its multitude of skin benefits.
One key component of Centella Asiatica is madecassoside, which plays a big role in skin hydration.
Madecassoside stimulates the production of glycosaminoglycans—a substance found in the liquid between skin cells. This liquid is essential for keeping the skin hydrated and healthy.
When skin becomes dehydrated, the quality of glycosaminoglycans is compromised.
By stimulating its production, Centella Asiatica improves both the quantity and quality of these compounds, resulting in more hydration. And as we know, hydrated skin is soft and plump.
Additionally, Centella Asiatica has strong anti-inflammatory properties, which calm and soothe the skin, reducing redness and irritation.
A Hydration Powerhouse
This product is packed with high-quality humectants, the hydrating goodness of Centella Asiatica, and emollients to lock it all in.
There’s no doubt that Cicaplast Baume B5 is extremely hydrating for the skin.
Benefits for Eczema-Prone Skin
This product is also beneficial for those with eczema.
Eczema often results from compromised skin hydration, and this product’s ability to stimulate glycosaminoglycans means more moisture and water retention in the skin.
Increased hydration is key to improving eczema-prone skin.
Final Thoughts
If you're looking for a hydrating product that will plump, soften, and hydrate your skin, especially if you struggle with dehydrated or eczema-prone skin, Cicaplast Baume B5 is a solid option.
While its primary focus is hydration, the calming ingredients also help to soothe and reduce redness. All in all, it's a thumbs-up from us!

simple skincare routine (+ product recommendations based of skin types)
hi angels! skincare has been a big passion of mine since i was around twelve and began to develop some hormonal skincare issues. these really made me insecure and i still struggle with my skin. but being consistent and developing my routine, working out my skin type, eating with my skin as a focus and trial and error has got me to a place where im much much happier with my skin - and id love to share some tips and products with you!! remember your skin is exposed to so much and such a delicate part of your body, treat it with the love and respect it deserves. ˚₊‧꒰ა ♡ ໒꒱ ‧₊˚
firstly: figuring out your skin type
im not exaggerating when i say the basis of a good skincare routine is knowing your skin type. it makes it easier to buy products, work out what your skin needs and how to achieve the look you want.
dermatologists agree that there are four skin types:
oily (skin produces more oils and sebum).
dry (produces less oils and sebum).
normal (produces a normal amount of oils and sebum).
combination (areas of skin which are dry and areas that are sebum heavy/oily).
so…
how do you work out your skin type?
well there are two easy at home methods!
watch and wait (requires cleanser): wash your face with a gentle cleanser and pat dry. wait for half an hour or so and observe your skin. shiny all over = oily. tight and perhaps flaky = dry. shine in t zone = likely combination. hydrated and comfortable but not too oily = normal.
blotting sheet method (requires blotting sheets and cleanser): wash face with gentle cleanser, pat dry and waist for half an hour or so. press blotting sheets to chin, cheeks, forehead etc and examine the oil left on the sheets. lots of oil = oily. almost no oil/no oil = dry. oil mostly in t zone = combination. minimal all over face = normal.
˚₊‧꒰ა ♡ ໒꒱ ‧₊˚
secondly: building a routine
now youve worked out what skin type you have it’s time to build a routine! i personally have combination skin that verges more on the dry side.
my am and pm skincare routines look like this…
am: cleanser, ice face, oil face and do gentle gua sha routine, moisturiser and spf. applying facial sanitising spray regularly throughout the day.
pm: double cleanse, ice face (only if feeling puffy/sore), moisturiser, 1 - 2 spot treatments and sanitise face.
am products:
cerave hydrating cleanser.
corsx moisturiser (great for dry and spot prone skin, little goes along way).
la roche posay spf 50+.
jojoba face oil.
vital baby face spray.
pm products:
la roche posay effclar duo.
avene hydrance aqua cream.
two over the counter spot treatments.
you may need to cleanse your face more/less, use less moisturiser etc. developing your skin care routine is through trial and error, just be observant of your skin and take notes on any effects or changes a product seems to have.
˚₊‧꒰ა ♡ ໒꒱ ‧₊˚
thirdly: product recommendations
here’s a list of some product recommendations! some i have personally tried (they will be starred), others are popular ones based of your skin type loved by many.
cleansers
dry: cerave hydrating cleanser ⟡
oily: la roche posay effclar duo cleanser ⟡
combination: neutrogena skin balancing purifying gel cleanser
normal: paulas choice perfectly balanced foaming cleanser.
toner
dry: laneige cream skin toner
oily: body shop tea tree toner ⟡
combination: innisfree green tea toner
normal: la roche posay toner
moisturisers
dry: corsx moisturiser ⟡
oily: glow watermelon pink juice moisturiser
combination: byoma moisturising gel cream
normal: la roche posay cicaplast baume B5+ ⟡
spf
la roche posay spf 50+
black girl sunscreen
supergoop unseen sunscreen
˚₊‧꒰ა ♡ ໒꒱ ‧₊˚
thank you for reading angels! feel free to give any skincare product recommendations or reviews. im planning on doing an in-depth personal skincare routine post soon. hopefully you enjoyed!!

Alright. I’ll bite! I’m also 41 and want to continue to stay looking young. I use Shani Darden retinol thanks to your reco. What else do you use?!
Haha look at me influencing people. As a baseline I will say I do not smoke and am religious about using sunscreen.
So lately I have also been alternating with a good AHA/BHA in the evenings, I use the peel pads by Dr. Dennis Grossman but there are lots of other great options (e.g. Pixi at Target). I have also been a little too obsessed with hydration, so I use the snail mucin essence by Cosrx, followed by a hydrating moisturizer (currently using the HA and Ceramides one from Loreal) and then I lock it in with a good skin barrier cream at night. Do I look insane when I go to sleep? Yes. Is it worth it? Also yes.
I follow Dr. Sherene Idriss on IG and she turned me on to the Cicaplast Baume B5 from La Roche Posay and that's something I reach for if my skin needs extra TLC.
Now here is my biggest secret. This Aztec clay mask gets me better results than $100 masks I have bought from Skinceuticals or even Shani Darden. I will be using this mask for the rest of my life. It's so good that even my teenage son will ask me to put it on for him (teenage acne problems). It comes in a giant tub for $15 and will last you all year.
PS if you think my skincare routine is crazy, you should see my 14 year old daughter's bathroom shelf. She has twice as much product as me (all age appropriate I promise) and most of it is K beauty.

How to Get the Clean Girl Aesthetic in 2024
1. Makeup Magic for a Healthy Glow
For me, achieving the clean girl aesthetic begins with makeup, specifically focusing on that coveted healthy glow.
A key aspect is maintaining a robust skin prep routine.
The essence is in cultivating dewy, radiant skin that looks natural. While some may perceive this glow as oily, I see it as a sign of vitality and health.
You can easily do this with a good primer or a very rich cream that you apply before makeup. And the secret here is a creamy, very rich formula, which can also be a little thicker in consistency. You want to apply as little makeup as possible afterward so that your face looks smooth and clean without it.
I like to use the e.l.f. Hydrating Face Primer* or the La Roche Posay Cicaplast Baume b5* cream (I use this mainly on dry areas, rub it in well, and the makeup doesn't crease at all, which makes my skin look like I'm not wearing any makeup).
Personally, I limit setting my makeup to under my eyes and the middle of my face, allowing the rest to exude a natural, dewy finish.
Overlining lips or having bold lashes might work for some, but I believe in sticking close to my natural attributes and avoiding anything that feels too heavy or artificial.
Finding the right combination of makeup products is super important and it took me some trial and error to discover the perfect products that seamlessly work together, providing long-lasting results. Patience is key in this journey, as finding the products that suit you might require experimentation.
2. Hair: Down, Slicked, and Always Clean
Clean, well-groomed hair is a cornerstone of the clean girl aesthetic.
Even if you're not washing your hair daily (I only do it once a week), it should always appear freshly washed.
Slicked-back hairstyles, in my opinion, suit almost everyone and all hair types. I've become a convert to this style, despite initial reservations, and now it's my go-to. Whether you slick it all back or leave a couple of strands at the front, the key is keeping it neat.
Personally, I occasionally indulge in a hair mask when slicking my hair back. It adds a touch of self-care and contributes to maintaining that clean and polished appearance.
Slicked-back hairstyles convey a chic, sophisticated look that aligns seamlessly with the clean girl aesthetic.
3. Signature Scents: The Unseen Accessory
Strangely enough, smelling nice has become a subtle yet significant aspect of the clean girl aesthetic.
Having a few signature scents adds a layer of sophistication. I've experimented with various perfumes, and currently, I love the Fashionably London and Ebony Wood scents from Zara. A consistent fragrance associates you with a fresh, clean vibe, earning unexpected yet delightful compliments.
Ariana Grande's Pink Cloud perfume* is another recent addition to my collection, offering a fresh and floral scent perfect for various occasions. The key is to find scents that resonate with you and create a memorable olfactory impression.
4. The Power of Wardrobe Basics
When it comes to fashion, adhering to a neutral color palette is often suggested.
However, I beg to differ.
While neutrals dominate my wardrobe, I believe any color can work if the outfit is well-coordinated. The key is looking put together, whether you opt for a matching ensemble or throw together seemingly disparate pieces that surprisingly complement each other.
Basics play a pivotal role in achieving this aesthetic. I swear by neutral-toned sets, which provide versatility and easy mixing and matching. Monochrome outfits, focusing on a single color or tone, contribute to that effortlessly polished look that defines the clean girl aesthetic.
Jewelry: The Finishing Touch
Jewelry may be a small detail, but it makes a significant difference in completing the clean girl aesthetic.
I strike a balance, opting for enough jewelry to enhance the look without becoming too busy. Stacking rings, like the Cartier dupe from Amazon* and the PDP Ella piece, add a touch of elegance.
For bracelets, I combine a Van Cleef dupe with an Amazon Cartier dupe, creating a balanced yet chic adornment. Gold and silver jewelry, when paired thoughtfully, complement each other seamlessly. Gold hoops, both statement and dainty, along

While chewing on what to make next I decided to start making what skincare I use irl. I have very dry flaky and sensitive skin and its the only combo Ive found over many years of trial and error I havent developed allergies with yet.
I am trying new techniques when it comes to texturing objects by chopping up the picture into parts to pack more detail into the tile.

hi! do you have any recommendations for skin nourishment? saw the patrick bateman room on your twt❤️
hi nonnie well first of all thank you for describing my very normal room like That and secondly yes absolutely!! the harsh uk weather is my nemesis so i curated my routine to be as nourishing as possible. disclaimer that you definitely don’t need all of these products; i just happen to have super sensitive skin that is prone to dry patches and i also kind of love having a specific routine it’s very therapeutic #patrickbatemancorefr... so without further ado here are my recs 💌
1. clinique take the day off cleansing balm
i haven’t touched makeup wipes in about 7 years because they tended to irritate my skin especially around my eyes so i swapped to this cleansing balm and it’s amazing at removing even the most stubborn makeup efficiently without feeling harsh at all 💆♀️
2. ren skincare evercalm gentle cleansing milk
i used to think cleansers were supposed to make your face feel “squeaky clean” until i realised that just meant my skin was being stripped of its natural oils 😭 this is by far the most gentle cleanser i’ve found and i’ve tried a TON none of which can compare like this is srsly such a uniquely soothing product
3. origins drink up intensive overnight hydrating mask
this mask is my absolute fave 🌟 it’s marketed as an overnight mask so sometimes i’ll use it in place of my moisturiser but more often than not i just leave it on for a few hours while i study and it leaves my skin feeling so nice and rejuvenated yippee
4. hada labo gokujyun premium hyaluronic acid lotion
ok this is called a ‘lotion’ but it technically functions as a serum imo and it’s truly my ride or die product i can’t even tell you how many bottles i’ve gone through. it’s comprised of 7 kinds of hyaluronic acid so it is ultra-ultra-moisturising and it makes my skin feel so bouncy and hydrated yass 💧
5. kiehl’s creamy eye treatment with avocado
this is the only eye treatment i think actually made a significant difference out of all the ones i’ve used. it’s so creamy you just need the tiniest amount and it melts so nicely into my skin i suffer from super dry undereyes and eyelids and this honest to god saved my life #kiehlsstan4eva
6. caudalie vineactive overnight detox oil
okay firstly i’m obsessed with how this face oil smells it’s like being transported to a spa but more importantly i love how it absorbs into my skin without feeling greasy in the slightest <- i didn’t even know that was possible with an oil. tbh idgaf about the anti-aging claims but this noticeably makes my skin feel sooo soft when i wake up in the morning so i highly recommend!
7. la roche-posay cicaplast baume b5
this is not marketed specifically as a moisturiser but i use it as one LOL. this is my ultimate holy grail i cannot emphasise enough how it totally transformed my skin esp. in the winter months it is so freaking nourishing and i will repurchase it forever and ever 🫶
and that wraps up my list!! honorary mentions go to the kiehl’s ultra facial cream which was my fav moisturiser before i discovered cicaplast and basically anything from the innisfree green tea range 🍵
#this is probably way more in depth than u cared about HAHA i'm sorry im just a skincare fanatic and i loved the opportunity to ramble :^)#i hope this helps nonnie <3#i went thru a LOT of trial and error with skincare when i moved to the uk so i can firmly vouch for all of these as 10/10s#hari influencer era#<- the resurgence of this tag... slayage

la roche-posay cicaplast baume (not overhyped at all! there's literally nothing like it, so calming and it makes my skin glow the next morning)
the new essence skin tint (always sold out so you might have to hunt a little, but the finish is so beautiful and the price amazing)
feel free to deinfluence aswell, let's help eachother waste less money and find stuff that actually works♡

liv have u tried paula’s choice milky toner ? i’m looking for a hydrating toner bc im on tretinoin and my skin is getting rlly bad dry patches and im trying to figure out a way to repair it :( u give such good skin care recs so i figured i would ask u if u have any products u like that are hydrating/moisturizing :3 love u thank u
i have not unfortunately!! my two recs to u would be the La Roche-Posay cicaplast baume b5 as a targeted spot treatment on the rly rly dry patches and/or possibly an omega 3 supplement!! i know it sounds weird, but my derm was telling me once that supplementing omega 3s while on accutane can rly help mitigate the drying effects of the drug. i know tretinoin is topical vs isotretinoin which is oral, but it might be worth talking to your doctor or dermatologist abt trying <3 wishing u luck sweet angel!!

Random but you’ve said you’re a skincare girlie, what’s the one product you can’t live without?
i AM a skincare girlie!! there’s a few, but the la roche posay cicaplast baume is UNREAL, i don’t have hugely sensitive skin but during those moments when my skin is having a breakdown it’s divine. also, divine during the wintertime. it’s always in my wee skincare basket. the second is my slightly more bougie indulgence and it’s the glossier futuredew, i love it so much it’s unreal!

pls answer 7,9 & 18 from that ask thing you reblogged, i'm curious!! hope you're having a good day 🫶🏻
hi anon!! i am having a good day <3 i hope u r too! so sorry for the long post haha 😭
7: what animal do you look forward to seeing when you visit the aquarium?
hmm probably the stingrays! or sea turtles 🩷🩷 i just love them so much!! and of course all the other babies 😭💗
9: do you have a skincare routine? (and how many steps is it?)
of course i do!! it’s constantly changing but here’s my current one!
am: wash face with panoxyl cleanser, and use snail mucin and/or hylaronic acid serum (on damp skin) spray rosewater face mist to help layer! moisturize twice, once with cera ve lotion, then either the cera ve cream, la roche posay cicaplast b5 baume, or weleda skin food!! 🩷 then i use the naturium dew-glow sunscreen <33
pm: i remove my makeup with the garnier micellar water, and follow the steps of my am skincare routine up to the second layer of moisturizer, then i add an occlusive like egyptian magic cream or aquaphor! and of course i spray rose water in between steps :p
and then occasionally i’ll use the aztec secret clay mask or the peach slices snail recuse mask if my skin is looking dull or whatever :)! (for reference, i have pretty dry skin and i pretty much never get acne! i used to have bad fungal acne but panoxyl helped sooo much 🩷)
18: your boba/tea order?
personally, i’m more of a coffee drinker! i prefer making coffee at home (iced cafecito) but i have been trying more teas! rn i really like the tazo passion tea! i drink it iced its sooo good!!! and for boba, i don’t really get often but last time i think i got strawberry popping boba and strawberry milk tea (?) it was sooo good :) tbh i’ve never had tapioca boba so lmk if you have any recs! 💗
