AAAAAA its so cool that our ages line up w that!
I'm gonna try to be brief lol. Also hi this is a sideblog for my superhero paracosm aka where I dumped my old mcu paras.
The plot changed around a lot but the basic idea was that HYDRA somehow got DNA from the main 6 Avengers and made clones of them. For one reason or another, the clones escape and eventually wind up at SHIELD, where they're taken in and given semi normal lives. These are my original test tube babies 😭
The new plot (aka the one in this paracosm) is relatively the same, except instead of HYDRA its this organization called "Arcaynis" that does all sorts of weird experiments ... tbh even though I don't focus on them much now, they're still pretty paracosm-important/relevant bc goddamn does Arcaynis do a lot of fuckery. Fuck Arcaynis all my homies hate Arcaynis.
JORDAN STARK (THEY/THEM)
I actually still daydream about them fairly frequently! They're part of a different paracom now, but still have origins in Assembled Monsters.
Being a clone of Tony Stark/Iron Man, they don't really have powers. They're more of a "guy behind the chair" person yknow. But! They were usually the one to kickstart the clones escaping. Wait sometimes they had electricity and super speed. Idk why stop asking questions. The power of ✨imagination✨
Oh they have a prosthetic arm! Yeah Rex/Laz ripped it off when they were about 6ish. Fun times.
REX (HE/HIM) & LAZARUS BANNER (HE/HIM)
Clone of Bruce Banner/The Hulk ... idk how HYDRA managed to get the "two for one" deal, but they did! I always waffled on if they were the same person or were more like the Jekyll/Hyde situation that Bruce had.
Despite Tony being my favorite, Rex — and Laz, I guess — were usually the focus/main characters of the daydreams I had back then. By now they're basically AM's poster child 😭
Rex is radioactive! His blood, sweat, & other bodily fluids are acidic and actual biohazards. Rip buddy.
Laz is a cannibal. Technically. He's not human (clone + can transform into this giant...wolf cat thing idk i never finalized their "hulk" form ig). This does cause problems for him & Rex but they come to a deal where Laz can only eat "bad" people aka criminals and whoever SHIELD deems an enemy.
MAXINE ROMANOV (SHE/HER)
Clone of Natasha Romanov/Black Widow.
For some reason she has telepathy! This makes more sense now bc magic just kinda exists in MaaC/all my paracosms but back then I didn't have an explanation it was just sort of a thing.
Close w Rex! I guess this reflects how Bruce & Nat's relationship progressed in the movies ... BUT tbh I based most of everything off of the 2012 Avengers & Age of Ultron, a lootttt of stuff was cut out. 2012!MCU was an ERA im sure you remember.
But anyway, she was paired with Rex in order to control him bc his abilities were ... unstable, to say the least. But they're good friends, both then and now. She's basically his sister?
The others weren't as important tbh, but yknow. I still love them.
Christine Rogers, Steve Rogers/Cap's clone. Steve & Bucky adopt her! Stucky was also a thing I think idk. Probably.
Brandon Odinson, Thor's clone. He was taken in by Jane.
Zethri Barton, Clint/Hawkeye's clone. For some reason he was aquatic/like a siren? Idk it was the Clint in Vents Era, did we ever find something for that man to do.
Khole & Lorelai, also Bruce's clones and technically Rex's "siblings". Tho fun fact, their "birth order" goes: Khole, Rex, Lorelai. So. Rex is a middle child 😭😭
Holly Rose, who was just a girl w plant powers idk where she came from but she was there sometimes! She was kinda like the team mom I think.
And then I think there was Kit, a clone of Dr. Strange? She was connected to Strange somehow but I forgot. Probably related to him somehow lbr.
hi this is random but I love that you have marvel/mcu fictparas! I used to have an MCU paracosm when I was younger (the mcu had a chokehold on me from like ages 8-15). I still have some original paras from that time...kind of. I think about them sometimes lmao but they do exist in the background of my paracosms. guess what im tryna say is mcu our beloved <3 (also please give tony a hug for me he was my dad fr 😭)
OMGGGGG!!! CAN YOU HEAR ME ABSOLUTELY SCREAMING??? I can't believe we have that in common!!! MCU our beloved, indeed <333
I started getting into the MCU at about 13(?), and that's when I introduced it into my paracosm, so even our ages kind of line up, lmao! I'd love to hear about your paras, though! Even though they're background characters now, I think that's so cool that they stuck around since then!!!
And, of course I'll give Tony a hug for you! This makes for great timing, too, seeing as he just won the Hunger Games, so I'm sure he's in a pretty good mood, hehehe!

(Also, he is such a great dad, frfr! And I'm saying this as someone who literally had to fight him for custody of Peter, lmaooo!)

If I had a nickel for every time a main TOS character is said to be married/engaged only for it to never be mentioned in the show again, I’d have 4 nickels, which isn’t a lot but it’s weird it’s happened 4 times

I have never been sexually abused, but I’ve been thinking about how it’s weirdly hard to get people to care about sexual abuse or other crimes unless it fits a certain narrative or perpetuates a pre-existing bigotry….
. if you acknowledge sexual abuse in the film/tv industry then anti semitic people will say it’s because Jewish people control Hollywood 🙄.
. If you acknowledge sexual abuse in the music industry then people will focus on the black men in rap music and perpetuate racist stereotypes
. Sexual abuse in the Catholic Church is now more widely known, but there are still people who will use that to feed into religious conflicts between Catholics and Protestants and perpetuate conspiracy theories. Abuse in Protestant groups and in other religions has yet to be covered in the same way.
. LGBT people are disproportionately likely to be victims of abuse but are being called groomers???
. People blame cases of incest on if they are from the American south 🙄
. Most cases of abuse are against children, but also FULLY GROWN ADULT WOMEN have also been speaking about sexual misconduct for SEVERAL DECADES and are still being blamed on their clothing and called “unlikable” for making a fuss 😤
It’s just so sad that at least one of these narratives always pops up whenever a man can actually even get convicted which is still rare. When will people realize that the root of this is problem is hierarchy of power and not whatever group of people you don’t like.

Something that I want in SNW season 3 is to fall in love with Roger Korby.
I want my consent concerns of Christine as his student removed (maybe they met and fell in love before they knew each other’s names?).
I want the man he was before the machine he became to be kind and witty and fun and smart and a wonderful partner for Christine.
I want Christine’s future mourning for Roger to make sense as their could-have-been shone bright and beautiful.
I want so many of my long-held beliefs about this character to be upended as we truly meet him for the first time.

Roger Korby makes my skin crawl
Also when he’s talking about how the androids have full physical sensation and Christine says “how convenient”
And then he’s like “you don’t think I could possibly love an android” and she just goes “Did you?”

05x16 - A Death In The Family
TW: Sudden Infant Death Syndrome is the focus of the entire episode.
Taffy and June are walking the beat, pausing to talk to a member of the public before they get distracted by a woman screaming a few houses down. They politely make their excuses and run to help.
The woman keeps repeating "My baby! My baby!" and leads the officers into the house. Her husband approaches cradling their motionless son, Christopher. June tries to get sense from the pair and asks if the baby is ill. She tries to get the father out of the room whilst she checks him over and tries to perform CPR. Taffy contacts CAD for an ambulance and comforts the family, encouraging them to keep things as normal as possible for their 9 year old daughter, Debra. Debra quietly says to Taffy 'it was me, it was my fault!' before her mother comforts and reassures her. June comes down the stairs and slowly shakes her head, leading Taffy to quietly update CAD that the baby has sadly passed away and CID are required to attend.
The family GP arrives and Taffy tells her that June is upstairs with the baby. Mr Robins, Christopher's father tells the doctor they found him approximatley 10 minutes ago. He'd woken in the night for a feed but had seemed to sleep through after. The doctor checks the baby over and sadly there is nothing that can be done, Christopher has died.
Downstairs Debra asks if Christopher is dead. Taffy tells her that her mummy and daddy will explain everything, before asking Mr Robins if there is anywhere else that Debra can go for a short while. Mr Robins contacts his sister in law to come and collect her.
At the front desk, Tony takes a report of a 9 year old boy who hasn't arrived at school. He suggests the boy may be playing truant and his mother snaps back that she'll beat him black and blue if he is (!).
Christine and Bob discuss the Robins family. Bob tells her that the Robins lost Linda, a 4 month baby girl, to cot death 4 years previously. There were no suspicious circumstances at the time and Bob suggests that cot deaths potentially run in families. Tom was unable to get hold of anyone in CID so has left a message for Tosh to visit the house when he gets in. Christine suspects that CID may be a bit 'sniffy' given that it's the second baby death to the same parents.
Tosh asks Bob to accompany him to the Robins house due to his prior connection - it was him who had dealt with their previous cot death. Debra is leaving with her auntie as they arrive. Bob quietly updates June and Taffy that this is the second time that the Robins have lost a child so to tread extra carefully. He asks June to not let SOCO into the house until the parents have decided where they want to go whilst the investigation is carried out. He advises that she keep a close eye on Mrs Robins to support her and then asks Taffy to contact the Coroners Office. Taffy quietly tells him what Debra said to him about it being her fault.
Tosh introduces himself to the family and gently explains what's going to happen, including SOCO removing certain items of clothing and bedding examination. He assures them it's routine procedure and nothing personal. Mrs Robins insists she doesn't want to leave the house despite June's gentle encouragement. Tosh explains that they will need to be questioned about the circumstances of Christopher's death but reassures them they are not under arrest. He suggests that it is done at the station as it may be less distressing.
The doctor asks for a quiet word with Tosh and leads him outside, leaving Bob with the Robins'. She tells Tosh - and the newly arrived Christine - that it's vital the family are allowed to say their goodbyes. Christine doesn't want to allow it as - technically - it's a suspicious death. The doctor eyes her cooly and tells her it's a cot death and that 6 babies die in similar circumstances every day. Tosh suggests it would be OK as long as the room stays untouched. Christine asks June to accompany the parents but to not allow them to touch the baby or anything else in the room.
The mortuary assistants respectfully remove Christopher's body from the house whilst the parents are in the garden with June. Bob asks the SOCO officer to give the family time to leave the house before going up to Christopher's bedroom.
The Robins' GP tells Tosh that Mrs Robins had a very mild bout of Post Natal Depression after Christopher was born. She didn't take any medication for it and it ended quickly. She continues to explain that both parents became very overprotective of Debra after Linda's death and she was concerned about how they sufficated the then 5 year old with affection. She had noticed that it had lessened significantly when Christopher was born.
June stands with Bob in the garden and has a cigarette that she tries to hide when Christine appears. Christine tells Bob that they're taking the parents to the station for interview and asks June to attend the mortuary, suggesting she take her time and finish her cigarette first.
The missing boy from earlier is tracked down by uniform and reunited with his mother who gives him a clump around the ear and warns him to wait till she gets him home. Mrs Robins watches the interaction mournfully whilst they're signed into the station. Christine seperates the couple and sends Mr Robins with Taffy, explaining that they need to speak to them separately.
SOCO are seen removing items from Christopher's bedroom as Jim and Tosh look over the downstairs. Jim finds a scuff by the stairs and suggests it could have come from a kick. Tosh isn't so sure as it could have been one of many innocent things. Jim notices damage to a table leg but Tosh reasons that it's difficult to keep a house pristine when you have children. Jim asks Tosh for his reading of the situation as the 'expert on families'. Tosh sadly says that he considers it all perfectly normal. "Could have been one of my kids laying up there."
Tumblr media
Mrs Robins tells Christine that Christopher used to cry a lot. She didn't mind the crying because 'to hear him meant he was there. He was alright'. She admits worrying for Debra because she felt jealous of the attention her brother was receiving. She is quick to tell Christine that 'she doesn't mean it!' (telling Taffy it was her fault) and that Debra had blamed herself when Linda (their 4 month old daughter) had passed away when she was 5 years old.
Mr Robins tells Tosh and Taffy that he didn't try to revive his son, he just held him, terrified that history was repeating itself. Tosh asks where Debra had been before Rachel called him upstairs. He remembers calling Debra downstairs for breakfast. He tells them that Debra adored Christopher but wouldn't go and see him on weekday mornings because she is in a rush for school. He promises that she did not go near Christopher that morning and her earlier words were simply shock and grief. Tosh apologises ahead of his next question, telling Mr Robins that he has to ask it. "Why do you think your first baby died?" Mr Robins pauses before admitting that the doctors couldn't find a reason, it was explained as a Cot Death (now Sudden Infant Death). He admits that not knowing the 'real' reason that their child died is a nightmare as they feel it could have been something that they had done or that they neglected to do without realising.
Soon after the interviews end and the Robins are allowed to leave the station. June returns from the mortuary as Tosh offers to drive them home. Christine asks Taffy to go and get them a car as they will drive them home, collecting Debra on the way.
Tosh asks June if anything was found as the cause of death or of note during Baby Christopher's post mortem. "Not even nappy rash." June sighs sadly. Tosh calls through to Christine's office and lets her know once she's back from dropping the Robins home and tells Bob that it is down to what SOCO find at Lambeth. Jim and Tosh are sure that nothing untoward will be found and that it is another sad case of a cot death with noone to blame.
Taffy is found by June in the recreation room, silently staring at the television but not actually watching it. She has to repeatedly call his name to ask if he's alright before he answers. His voice is tired and strained when he finally does, telling her he's alright. She snaps at him not to take it out on her before sighing and asking if he wants to speak about it. Taffy shakes his head, "It's just another death isn't it. Just another bloody death." "... Yeah...." June swallows, before walking out to go and get drunk with Taffy following close behind.
Bob attends the Robins house the next morning with a reciept of the items SOCO removed from the house, telling them sadly that again there is no obvious sign of death and the cause of death will likely be cot death. The Robins explain that they haven't had much sleep as they spent the night talking about what happened. They admit they've had a 'couple of funny phone calls' from what they believe to be accusatory neighbours. Bob says he will get CID to look into it and will return in a couple of days to see how they are. He asks Mr Robins as he leaves if they want to speak to a counsellor but he assures Bob that it's not something they feel would help.

I'm intrigued to see whether Strange New Worlds will actually show us anything of Roger Korby beyond just the fact that Christine gets engaged to him; because I know that, in the old novelverse, they established that Noonien Soong used the technology from the Exo III androids in designing Data and Lore, and I think that they could fairly easily tie this into the Soong family legacy arc and the "Higher Synthetics" arc from Picard season 1.

Christine Baranski knows how to make a statement on the red carpet, and she did just that at the Metropolitan Opera Opening Night Gala for ‘Grounded’ in New York City last night.
After the rave reviews she garnered for her Oscar de la Renta look at the Emmys, it’s no surprise she returned to the designer for yet another breathtaking moment. And let me tell you, lightning has indeed struck twice.
This time, Christine graced the red carpet in a stunning white off-the-shoulder gown that oozed sophistication. The design was everything you’d expect from Oscar de la Renta—elegant, timeless, and expertly tailored to Christine’s statuesque frame. It’s the kind of dress that commands attention without trying too hard, proving that sometimes simplicity is the most powerful fashion statement.
But what truly elevated this look were the accessories. Christine’s Wing & Weft opera gloves were a pitch-perfect choice for the evening, especially considering the venue. If there’s ever a place to lean into Old Hollywood glamour, it’s at the opera, and Christine did just that, pairing the gloves with a selection of dazzling Fred Leighton jewels. Her ability to channel classic elegance while keeping it modern is what makes her such a red carpet favourite.
I’m not the biggest fan of the style of clutch, but her Roger Vivier black accessories didn’t detract from the overall look.
If you’re curious about the back of the dress (because who isn’t?), take a peek at her stylist Cristina Ehrlich’s Instagram. The gown features a v-bow-accented back that cascades into a sweeping train, adding that extra layer of drama we all love from a red carpet moment.
