Chris being genetically compatible for Uroboros or the progenitor/prototype virus.....what would Wesker's reaction or thoughts be?
#iirc Chris (and Claire) and Wesker share the same blood type?#it won't have anything to do with Chris being compatible but it's still a detail worth noting....#something wesker could maybe take advantage of?

also i do still love the idea of swapping claire and leon's re2 scenarios but i cannot help but think that the scene with sherry and chief irons would have been a LOTTT worse with leon instead of claire
#arry plays re2#like. the guy already barely held back with claire. he was fully ready to kill her if either her or sherry didn't do what he wanted#also the game takes place in 1998. i think he would have been a lot more liberal with the punches if it were leon instead#i think about this regularly actually. i don't know if the police uniform would make it better or worse for him#probably worse. idk from what i've seen from leon's campaign it does seem like he met irons before. probably when he got the job#idk if the recognition would do him much good though.#hm what to tag this.#idk if it necessarily warrants a tw?#idk re2 goes hard into the corruption and corporate greed side of things. idk about the original but its a HUGE part of the narrative#in the remake. i kinda wonder how much chris shared with claire about the events of the first gamw#probably not much. she seems pretty clueless about it all and he doesn't seem to have reached out to her like. at ALL#and neither has jill for that matter 🤔 oh man i gotta play re3 after this too#i know the remake for re3 wasn't that good apparently but there was something abt jill being suspended in that game#so she may not have seen chris' letter but i really don't know#iirc jill seemed pretty set on leaving the city too. she might have quit#which. i do Not blame her akdjskdjs i would quit too after that bullshit#anyways! :D good game so far. even with mr. x getting all up in my business#he can fuck off but like it was the only time i've been actually scared so far sodjskfjdknfd#i also love claire's little comments/insults towards the zombies akdjskfjsjf#'what the hell is up with you???' claire girl they're fucking dead#well. undead technically. still. that's what's up with them.#violence tw#yeah it does warrant the tw actually

tana watch a sitcom without coming up with some weird niche polyship challenge (99% fail rate.)
#Currently watching Modern Family#And I just watched the s5 finale for the first time and I was like “ok what if Haley Andy and Dylan but like an ot3”#They’re clearly setting up for Andy to stop with whatever on and off again mess he’s in and get with haley#And Dylan and Andy have yet to meet as far as I remember#But still#other examples include; Jim Pam and Karen from the office (us.) Chris Leslie Ben and Ann from Parks and Rec#But specifically in like a situation where Leslie and Chris are both with Ann and Ben but Leslie and Chris and Ann and Ben are just friends#With shared partners#And uh I guess I like the idea of Eleanor Chidi and Tahani from the good place in a v relationship with Eleanor as the hinge#It is heavily implied and iirc at times just stated that Eleanor is into Tahani and obviously her and Chidi are canonically together#So this one actually has canon backing :3#poly ship#shipping#ot3#ot4#poly ships

@can-you-free-me no luck finding Rock in Rio, but I did find the Buenos Aires show from that same tour, where the crowd requested Showbiz
Muse full gigs
Some full shows that are available, for anyone who wants to partially relive the Muse live experience.
I figured no one's made lists in a while.
La Cigale, Paris By-Request gig 2018
youtube
rarities + I guarantee I'm gonna fuck up Space Dementia + water spitting + Matt and Dom playing Grammy hosts in the way they announced the winners of the by-request polls
Some cool and noteworthy gigs:
Live Lounge 2012
The Mayan 2015 (performance wise this gig was stunning)
Royal Albert Hall 2008 (Teenage Cancer Trust charity gig - Megalomania on the pipe organ!)
Reading Festival 2011 (10 years of Origin of Symmetry - played the album start to finish)
AOL Sessions 2006
Reading 2006 (Muse's first time headlining if I remember right. Plus, Matt's moves!)
Glastonbury 2004 (first Glasto headline and a must-watch! Of the iconic mad-scientist, white lab coat era. Muse had called it the best gig of their life so far, at the time) (*Ruled By Secrecy was played live but wasn't included in the concert footage DVD and isn't in this video upload either)
Montreaux Jazz 2002 (height of piano maniac-ery days. Would also recommend Pinkpop 2002 but they don't. have. the footage anymore :( Space Dementia at Pinkpop 2002 was phenomenal. 2004 is also good, but I never found 2002 again. Speaking of which,)
Pinkpop 2004 (most songs are in, a few performances missing unfortunately)
MCM Café 1999 (marvel at what a good live act this young band aged 21 already was—with about 4 years of gigging experience under their belts. Insane how good they are.)
Wembley 2007 (H.A.A.R.P. The first band to sell out the newly rebuilt Wembley Stadium. 90,000 people. You need to understand, seeing Chris lift up and point his bass at the crowd at the end of the slightly modified Jimmy Jam riff before Time Is Running Out was a religious experience that changed me and we're lucky enough to live in an age where you and I can witness it over and over and over again and I'd suggest that you do)
Rock Am Ring 2018, uploaded to the Internet Archive by the Muse Historical Society!
Austin City Limits 2013 Philipshalle 1999 Philipshalle 2001 (all suggested in notes, check out the crystal clear gifs from @hotbellamy! :O )
A few additions I remembered after publishing: Eurockeennes 2000 (opened with a then-unreleased New Born. Matt playing a full gig in red sunglasses. Treat to watch. Link's stretched up to fit modern screens but if you want a bit of clarity and don't mind the late 90s ratio stretch, here's a different link) 2002 (quality's a bit shit but that is literally what telly used to look like)
Shepherd's Bush Empire 2006 (Early gigs are always interesting because over time Muse develop different ways of playing songs that are fresh off new albums. The way they work through Take A Bow live is a bit different here, Dom's the one controlling the opening verse synths! During the Abso tour, Matt would play that bit on the piano as an intro to Space Dementia and if I'm remembering right, he does now on the pianos (correct me—this was on the ST tour as well). Also, Starlight in Bm at this gig)
Big Day Out (Australia) 2004 | 2007. Muse's first tour Down Under, 2004. If you're impressed by Muse's riffage here, know that you aren't alone, Metallica's Kirk Hammett was as impressed as you are. Also I've linked 2007, presented by the V channel, featuring Matt asking a male interviewer, 'Do you feel sexy now?' and famously proclaiming that they'll look sexier in their 40s, which has been true.
Rock Werchter 2023 (Muse play Rock Werchter in Belgium almost every year, except for the pandemic and 2012 I think, but this year's was a bit special. Best performance of Madness I've seen in a while, I love what he does in the outro! MOTP returns to the set. Muse had tech troubles at the end that caused them to restart Knights of Cydonia twice, to no avail. They finally cut it back for a guitar-bass-drum-vocals-only performance of Showbiz, and Matt's voice sounds exceptional on it— the best in recent years)
Bizarre Fest 2000 (BLESS SOMEONE HAS RESTORED THIS FROM VHS TAPE IN HD, this is so much better than back in the day!! If the falsetto at 1:13 doesn't do it for you, you're into the wrong band, nothing else will help. What an electric performance this was!)
Buenos Aires 2019 (livestreamed Simulation Theory-era gig in Argentina, because the set was changed at the last minute because of adverse weather, Muse gave the audience a choice of song between Bliss and Showbiz. The crowd chose Showbiz, which the band played for... the first time since 2006 I think??)
Gigs from WOTP 2022/23 festivals tour last summer:
Nova Rock Rock In Rio Ejekt Fest Isle of Wight ALTer EGO Jan 2023 (as Muse had talked about in that iHeart Radio IG Live) Hurricane Festival 2023 (a festival at which Matt once complained that Muse's set was cut short by... hurricanes. But the audio mixing at this gig was really good!)
These are in no particular order, and obviously not complete, I just realised no one had put together a gig archive in a while so I thought I'd give it a stab!
Will edit and add others whenever, there are obviously glaring omissions still!
#gig archive for anyone bored on a saturday night#latest update: added those Big Day Out shows + Argentina 2019#Muse also did BDO 2010 iirc but these ones are also solid#couple still on my mind to add -- V Fest 2004. Muse headlined and it was around the time of Chris' broken arm#ie Morgan joined them for the first time#Pinkpop 2002 is always on my mind#but V 2004 I don't have one continuous video and I am not in the mood to piece it together into a playlist from across youtube rn#so do that yourselves for now; maybe later I will#but enjoy the silly interview before 2007 BDO!#gig archive#updated (gig archive's the tag for all full gigs related stuff. Have fun with it!)

id love to hear your thoughts on jason and damian's relationship bc i feel like despite the popularity of the idea of jason and damian bonding in the league (despite that timeline probably not working), in-canon, they do NOT like each other (for pretty understandable reasons on damian's part) but i feel like they never get their relationship meaningfully explored outside of the watered-down idea of "they are both Violent (just ignore their different reasoning and histories wrt violence)"
not to sound mean but i don’t like jason and damian having a close relationship either. partially because i think jason being affiliated with the league at all is mostly derived from the film (and possibly yjtv?) in ways that don’t make sense in comic canon, but also because like u said it’s watering down both their characters to be “the violent one.”
there are many characters damian has interesting narrative parallels to — being born and shaped for one purpose and then choosing ur own destiny — like cass cain, or chris and conner kent. i feel cass fulfills the actual sibling role that people want to slot jason into. like with cass, jason’s development happens invertly to damians. in robin son of batman, damian embarks on a quest of redemption for those he killed while in the league, an arc that iirc jason has never been shown to have on page. damian learns to be real, while jason is unmade. damian’s development as a character puts him in opposition to jason’s world view.
it’s also worth mentioning that the way their respective violence is treated is not with the same degree of compassion in fanworks. jason’s war on drugs is treated as a sincere attempt to protect the vulnerable despite the comics showing the contrary. damian is frequently depicted as an uncontrollable animal, especially in his early appearances. i wonder why that would be. their circumstances simply aren’t comparable. one of them was a child raised in an exoterrorist cult, and the other is an adult who chooses to kill. po-tay-to po-ta-to.
there could be some connection through talia ig, but again that’s still often grossly inflated or ignored entirely when people write them together. would she let jason (who she objectively knows is unstable) around her kid? eh, probably not. would jason be chill at all around bruce’s biological child? unlikely. jason has been sincerely, lethally violent to damian in the past, and damian wouldn’t forget that. it’s also worth noting that damian, when written well, is not a person who’s quick to resort to violence without it being a reaction to perceived disrespect.
however the short answer to ur q is that damians primary encounter with jason early on is when he looked like this
and i do not believe damian wayne would ever associate himself with that
#they fought the flamingo and Jason still looked more ridiculous so. interpret that how u like#damian wayne#dc comics#batfam#robin#the ask and the answer

I still feel robbed we never saw a reaction to Michael's death/fall from Clarisse.
Like, one scene. One small scene. Heck, we could've even just gotten a reaction from Chris. He was already talking to Percy in that one scene, that would've been perfect scene for at least him to find out.
I think it would've been interesting if they continue that arc somewhat into HOO. Like have Michael come up as well in some form. Have mentions of why Will is pushing pass what happen to be diplomatic with Clarisse, the rest of his cabin still can't get along with the Ares cabin. Show them and others being bitter over stuff!! Show post war tension at camp!!! We are being thrown into camp from a fresh set of eyes. Tlh trio don't know all that happened, and honestly the idea of there being more conflict than just Drew's feelings towards Silena being shown would've been so interesting.
Like the fact they just destroy the chariot, tell us that the Apollo cabin officially had it then, and then did nothing else to tell us how that went? Just insane to me. It makes that whole arc feel unfinished.
Will is one the first few campers outside of who picked Leo up that he really gets to meet. And with learning about Charles,I think would've been interesting if he some how learned about Michael in a way. Maybe he brings up the chariot being crashed and those in his cabin who were vets from titan war kinda grimace or something. Maybe show tension during the campfire with an argument breaking out and Will having to jump in to stop in it. Show the Apollo cabin still grieving. Heck, maybe the mention of another war likely about to start have the fact that the Apollo cabin took such a big hit last time be a worry because there's less available and well trained medics now. Someone, either Will or someone else at one point being like "If we have to fight a serious battle again, we're gonna be at a disadvantage. We're too far down on archers and healers"
Cause that's a realistic thing to mention when you're talking about having to go to war back to back after such a devastating blow. Sure, they got new campers in waves for the other cabins. But we know from ToA that Apollo cabin *didn't*. Unless another cabin is able to provide some form of support as healers as well(which could be likely, we also don't know what all minor gods have kids at camp-) they are down to three healers. Two of which likely don't have that much experience. Kayla and Austin were like 11-12 in tlo based off timing. And their specialized abilities are more focused on archery and music, and with them taking up Music and Archery lessons they probably are gonna be learning medical stuff slower. Obviously they probably learned a bit right after the war, but it still not gonna make them as skilled as Will who's a lot more specialized in healing. And their archery might be needed in a fight which can leave to lot more issues.
Just- there's a lot of post war stuff they could've explored. Even in tlo they don't really address it. We aren't even told what Michael's shroud looks like, we don't get to see Apollo cabin having to burn all those shrouds- heck- actually wait
Percy and Will burning Michael's shroud together like how Clarisse helped Aphrodite cabin. 😭 I've talked about this before, but Percy was literally screaming/yelling when he couldn't find Michael. He was gonna call blackjack again to try and find him. If Annabeth wasn't on worse condition he likely would've searched every inch. I also feel he at least paid more attention in small ways to the Apollo cabin. Iirc the only time he mentions a burial shroud that's set up, he focuses on an Apollo one. Idk. Just think idea of him doing his best to pay respects to Michael, having the room post war to actually stop and grieve, just be interesting.
Idk. I'm rambling gdgd just many thoughts. So many cool stuff and characters that got dropped.

TM (showrunner) might be undoing the forced Buckley, Diaz and Han parents' redemptions.
After the way season 7 ended, I still don’t trust TM but it appears he’s back on his BS of revealing the Buckleys, Diazes and Hans for the shitty parents they've always been. Before I explain how I came to this conclusion, I have to go back to the hiatus after season 6 because I completed a post (linked here) about the stereotypes that plagued the season and one of my key points revolved around how it seemed like someone was "pushing an agenda" to get the audience to see them as good people who deserved to be redeemed when everyone who's been watching since season 2, knows they didn't deserve it. Well, now that we know it was the F*X Network hindering Buck’s and Eddie’s progress towards Buddie CANON, I think they were behind the whole "give these shitty parents an undeserved redemption arc" too (post linked here).
Here's what I mean.
The Buckleys
In 7x6, I noticed how Margaret and Phillip were back on their highfaluting "we don’t want anyone to know we're not perfect parents" BS when Phillip called Buck "Evan" even though he specifically asked them to call him "Buck" in 4x5. They called him Buck in season 6 without issue and they were acting like pod people when they told him he was a "miracle baby" but he knew it wasn't genuine. Also, when Margaret made her famous "disappointed face" towards Maddie when she was getting ready to walk down the hospital's aisle/hallway so she could marry Chimney, Margaret reverted back to being the Buckley mom the audience who's been watching for the entirety of the show recognized. Maddie even clapped back at her for questioning her decision to get married there and it reminded me of 4x5 when Maddie told her she didn't get to tell her about her place. Furthermore, Margaret made that face again when Buck returned to the room with soot on his face. It's the face she made in 4x4 before he told them to "Love me anyway."
The Diazes
In seasons 5 and 6, Helena was still pushy and controlling but her behavior wasn’t anything like it was back in seasons 2 and 3. They let Eddie reconcile with Ramon in 5x17 but the things Eddie went through as a child were barely addressed. He NEVER confronted his mom (hopefully, he will this season) about the shitty things she's said to him, "Don't drag him down with you Eddie" was one of the worst. It's been years but she's STILL TRYING TO TAKE CHRIS FROM HIM and instead of letting Eddie confront her, the show gave her a pass and let it all get swept under the rug. Also, they took Eddie’s support system away from him. Isabel moved back to El Paso but the audience didn't know until 5x17 and in season 6, they had Pepa acting like Helena. Prior to season 5, Pepa and Isabel were shown to be supportive of his decisions while remaining at odds with Helena regarding the way she dismissed them as his family in season 2 (related post here). But at the end of season 7, Helena was back at it and Ramon just went along with everything she said the same way he used to when he was away from home working. All the progress Eddie made with him was erased and I think that was on purpose but I digress. Also, in season 8, she's back up to her controlling ways and she's doing everything she attempted to do back in 2017 before Eddie and Chris left for L.A. It remains to be seen if Eddie will tell her she was always the problem in 8x6 or when he goes to get his son.
Sang Han
In 7x6, IIRC, there weren't any mentions of Sang Han during Maddie’s and Chimney’s wedding but the Lees were there. Reminder, they were always said and shown to be his parents instead of Sang. But in 6x10 and 6x11, Chimney was guilt tripped by Albert's mom into believing he was prideful which was total BS because he’s not like that. So, it appears Sang might just be revealed as the man who abandoned his son in another country the way TM wanted it to be. He even brought Kevin back from the dead to save Chimney and lead him home to the Lees, not Sang.
Please note: Shannon Diaz is not included in this because TM likes the actress who plays her and after that "Vertigo" and doppelgänger f~ckery at the end of season 7, any chance there was to undo her retconned past was an EPIC FAILURE especially since Eddie has yet to admit she abandoned both him and Chris. While it’s possible Eddie may address it in 8x6 or beyond, I won't be holding my breath but hopefully, he will tell Chris the truth about his mother so they can FINALLY GRIEVE AND MOVE ON. (My opinion on Shannon is she's a bad mom just like Helena and NO, I won't give her a pass just because she was young when she got pregnant. Younger women than her don’t abandon their children so if you like Shannon, good for you but DO NOT REBLOG THIS WITH AN OPPOSING OPINION. CREATE YOUR OWN POST ON YOUR OWN BLOG AND GUSH OVER HER ALL YOU WANT. ANYONE WHO TRIES IT WILL GET BLOCKED!)
Anyway, IMO, it appears F*X wanted 9-1-1 to show the Buckleys, Diazes, Sang Han and Shannon Diaz to be redeemed and the show followed suit but now that TM is back at the helm and they’re on a new network, he’s like... NOPE, there won't be any redemptions because he’s going to show them for who they really are. They're shitty parents who deserve to be called out on their BS and they should have their long overdue conversations on screen with their children.

idk if you saw the new chud logic video but he brings up a good point: lots of people are agreeing that hbomb is not responsible for James’ alleged suicide, which is true. HOWEVER. would people be saying the same thing if hbomb were right wing? If he made the exact same video…. But didn’t have leftist political views? Would people still say he wasn’t responsible? Or would they call him a murderer?
He also brings up how hbomb’s audience constantly tracking James is very similar to kiwifarms behavior, which is a website that everyone on the online left seems to actively hate. They even claim that the website has driven people to suicide, which… isn’t that what hbomb has allegedly just done with James? If you know kiwifarms, you know that website is HARSH. But so was hbomb’s video. I loved the video, but you have to admit. There was like 1hr 30min of dunking on James specifically. And even though he said not to harass anyone on his behalf, he only said this for like 30 seconds before immediately going back to tearing James apart.
I’m not saying I’m above internet drama. I love rolling around in the mud of the internet. I love watching internet weirdos do weird internet things. But idk how you can act more morally pure about this kind of stuff. Like yeah it was fun to dunk on his misogyny and everything but like ??? People have done way worse. At least kiwifarms has tracked and warned people about multiple predators such as Chris Chan and Nick Bate and even Kero the Wolf iirc. James’ worse crime was stealing work from fellow gays and also stealing money. Pretty bad but like Cmon.

Iirc I think I saw someone on here say that Chris’s actor’s family moved away, meaning it’s harder to film i assume, so there’s a chance him being gone this long is partly a case of real life helping to write the plot? There’s also the fact that I don’t think he was originally meant to be gone so long, or at least I don’t think the show meant to go this long without focusing on Eddie. The first 3 eps got taken up by the opener, then they had to use an ep to get Mara back and deal with Gerrard, and we did get the Weston subplot for Eddie there, then I assume they had to get a Halloween ep in there to fit in with the programming. So this might be as quickly as they could manage logistically too
i agree re: the logistics not helping but i also think that like, gavin doesn’t actually need to be on screen for chris to be home (he wasn’t around for a lot of s7) and his absence in general could be dealt with a lot better than it has been, if he actually has to be gone. like part of the frustration here is still the same issue with refusing to fully commit. ok chris is gone… so can they talk about why??? can it be treated with appropriate and consistent weight??? can we know what’s even going on besides. they zoom twice a week and chris still won’t talk to him?? 😭

I find the decision to write the first Doctor as sort of cartoonishly bigoted in the episode with Twelve fascinating, because it shifts the blame for the racism, sexism etc present in early Doctor Who from the writers and producers to the *character*. It wasn’t the Doctor who wrote limited character arcs for female characters in comparison to male ones, and it wasn’t the Doctor who decided to use yellow-face for the characters in some episodes - that was the writers and production team. Y’know, real people. People whose legacy the current writers and producers of the show - who have also largely been white men, just like their predecessors - owe their jobs to.
And the persistent problem with continuing to sideline and tokenise the characters of some of the female companions and characters of colour in the service of centring the doctor as the (until recently) white male protagonist - that continued for most of the modern reboot in some form. Some of the elements of that were even new innovations under the modern writers (looking at you Moffat but you are not the only offender.) I mean, we’re talking about the portrayal of One as the past’s ambassador for sexism in iirc the exact same episode where Chris Chibnall reversed the previous episode’s ending of Bill surviving with Heather and re-buried the lesbians by sending Bill directly to the ‘your soul is canonically dead’ zone.
I absolutely can’t speak for the whole of the first Doctor’s tenure because I’ve only seen about 2/3 of his surviving episodes, but from the episodes I have seen, he didn’t even talk like that. There was a very big problem with that run of the show, but it was a different problem to the one the episode with One and Twelve is describing. One was weird as hell, but he was much less overtly hostile, wished much less bodily harm on minority groups and even dipped into less microaggressions and dogwhistles than most older white British people do now. That isn’t to say One’s behaviour in Old Who was something to aim for, it’s to say that a lot of the improvement in the attitude of white people in Britain over the last half-century has been performative at best, imaginary at worst, a lot of our dogwhistles are new and especially alarming for that reason - and it comforts white people to imagine that the racism and sexism of the past was overt and vulgar and unlike theirs, and that their bigotry by comparison is lesser and better and therefore doesn’t need further work; that now people affected by it just need to learn to live with it, because you’re lucky we’re not like our grandparents.
But that excuse doesn’t really work if (tw racism, anti-blackness, Islamophobia, death) some sects of British society talk more positively about drowning immigrants in the English Channel than they did 100 years ago, does it?
That excuse doesn’t work if your grandparents were actually quite a lot like you.
I live in the UK, about half the people I know watched the special with Twelve and One, and considering that vanishingly few modern viewers have seen or remember the first Doctor or any early Old Who, there was this odd awkward relief from most of the white people I watched the episode with, like they’d been absolved from Britain’s historical and current racism by the burning of an effigy. Like that bigotry coming from One’s mouth was a reassurance that this country’s bigotry had always been as cartoonish and ineffectual and easy to see as the lines Chris Chibnall and his colleagues wrote for One; that white people living in the UK now are fundamentally different than they were; and by watching Bill and One’s (still white) successor refuse his cartoonishly awful worldview, white Brits had somehow cleansed themselves and buried the past completely.
But the vast majority of the racism, bigotry, sexism in the original run of Doctor Who and still present in various forms in the show now did not actually take the form of nice clear, simple statements of bigoted beliefs from the characters’ mouths - it was in the writing. The way characters and especially cultures were portrayed. The yellow-face in one of Two’s story arcs really stuck in my mind, but the way Old Who handled nonwhite cultures in general was often horrific. The first Doctor was often perfectly polite, but women and characters of colour were sidelined and (even in instances when it was clearly accidental) dangerously misrepresented throughout the show in ways that persist well into the post-2000 reboot, because the sexism and racism wasn’t in the character.
The sexism and racism was in the writers’ room.
I don’t have any sentimental attachment to Old Who, I was born about a decade after it ended, but deflecting the cultural problems in the BBC that persist to this day onto one of the show’s characters, by having him express an easily-digestible form of bigotry much less dangerous and insidious than the one that was actually present in the early show, feels like a dangerous form of scapegoating.
Something I think would have meant much, much more would have been an apology *outside of the show* from the BBC and the show’s current writers for the wide variety of sincerely-held bigotries that were actually present in the first run of the show, and a public acknowledgement of the pervasive, insidious forms those bigotries actually often took in the show’s writing - and also an acknowledgement of the show’s continuing shortfalls in its handling of race and gender over the last twenty years - because that would have been much more productively challenging for viewers of the show (more or less the whole of the British public at some point in their lives) to have to consider. Which I have to assume is why they went down the reassuring ‘the first Doctor has died for our sins’ route instead.
This is just my two cents, I am also white and British so please take this perspective with a grain of salt.
Mm. I don’t know. This country loves letting ourselves off too easily, and the writing of One in that episode feels the like easiest and for that reason least effective way of reckoning with the way we were in the 1900s. Don’t worry everyone, at the turn of the millennium both the show and the country of Britain were reborn without sin!
this is such a good writeup anon. i don't have a lot to add - just that im asian-american and a lot of what you said aligns with rhetoric i've also seen in the states - that being this sense that racism is just something of the past rather than a fundamental, systemic issue that the country was built on. and yeah one thing that really struck me while watching twice upon a time was how one's bigotry was always framed as a joke. bill straight up says to twelve "i hope we laugh about it for 20 years" or whatever and it just reeks of "To Our White Audience: be not afraid. you're not racist like the 1st doctor who lived far into the past. see? the one black character knows we're not racist now. please give yourselves a pat on the back". and like, it's not funny to any people of color that might be watching. it's just prioritizing the comfort of white people. and it's pretty terrible that moffat (he wrote the episode, chibnall just wrote thirteen's first lines. but also i know chibnall took nuwho into its least progressive era so...) felt like he had a right to make light of this stuff when he has committed some pretty egregious crimes in his tenure himself
#doctor who#dr who#ty for sending this i wasnt aware of how.. white audiences reacted to the episode and now like#my suspicions abt it were def confirmed#12 era

okay i have thought for A While now (and not without talking to one of my tlos friends, shout out sam <3) that chris colfer did not have lloyd in mind at all when he wrote the first 2 books of tlos. like he hadn't even come up with him. and i think there's a lot of evidence for this that is not ENTIRELY explained by the argument of "well john and fg just wanted to keep his existence a secret from the twins". but i realized last night that maybe one of the strongest pieces of evidence is EZMIA.
because here's the thing. bear with me for a second. ezmia absolutely knew about john's existence, right? like. alright i don't have the second book on me rn but she clearly knew about charlotte, and she wouldn't know about charlotte without knowing of john (iirc she thinks charlotte is alex, but this still shows that she knows of john because how else would she know that the fairy godmother has a granddaughter, right?). and given the fact that she was fg's protegee, she would have been around both john AND LLOYD during her training. those are the sons of her mentor who live in the same kingdom (and probably the exact same castle) as she does. lloyd is literally referred to as "the other heir" by fg, which i guess indicates that ezmia was needed to replace lloyd? because he would've been the heir after john but then his magic got drained? point is he would've been around at the same time ezmia was being trained, and especially if she was needed to REPLACE him, she would have known about him. i've seen others point out that they probably would've been about the same age. now. keeping all this in mind...
do you really think. that if ezmia knew about this terrible uncle the twins have (AND SHE THINKS CHARLOTTE IS ONE OF THE TWINS FOR A WHILE), she really wouldn't have dangled it in their faces every chance she got? especially if she realized when talking to the real alex and conner that they don't even know who this guy is. don't you think she would've taunted them with it, given the way she is. don't you think she would've tried to rub it in charlotte's face during one of their scenes together. but she does nothing of the sort. you know why? because chris colfer hadn't thought of lloyd yet. LMAO.
it's not a big deal. i still love tlos and all the books with lloyd especially but like. think of the missed opportunities with lloyd. think about how much it could've been hinted at in the first 2 books if chris had thought of it. it would've been so fun. if anyone has lines in the first 2 books that they think ARE hints at him then please let me know because i think what's in there is just evidence to the contrary LMAO

hi i'd like to ask a question about the rich inner world of your Superman headcanons (as one of the few people with correct opinions on this site)
so iirc you've said previously that you think 1: Jon was about 4 during the death of Superman run (meaning Lois had to raise her son by herself while her husband died which is. AUGH) and 2: that Jon absolutely cried when he learned he wouldn't get TTK like his big brother Kon (which is both adorable and sad for a variety of reasons)
so I wanna ask, in your brain, how do Lois and Clark go about explaining the whole "your dad is Superman and you're a half-alien happy accident" situation? I ask because in a lot of canons (iirc) they just. kinda lie to him until he DOES develop powers, THEN Clark tells him once he does show signs of having powers. which. not sure how I feel about that
but anyways!! how do they go about that in your rich inner world? kids tend to be bad at lying about shit they think is cool, so do you think they told him at a young age and he started telling everybody "my dad is Superman!!!" and Lois and Clark had to be all "oh haha he's so cute his dad is his hero (・_・;) "
or did they wait a bit until he was older? idk i'd love to hear your thoughts when you get the time to think about it. (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*.✧ and put it into words, I know that part's hard
so it's a bit of a dilemma, right? on the one hand, honesty within the family is important, but on the other, asking a toddler to hold a secret with the weight of the world is... a lot.
i do think they'd wait to tell jon that clark is superman until he's old enough to actually understand why it's important that he keep it a secret. but, and this is an important but: hiding everything from jon would be a pretty fucked up thing to do, especially because kryptonians are a nearly extinct culture. his father is a refugee and an immigrant. this is his heritage.
so i think jon grows up learning kryptonian. he knows this is his dad's and his big bro chris's and his auntie kara's culture, and bigger bro/uncle/bruncle (barnacle?) (haha get it because he's always stuck on me!!! like a barnacle on a whale!!!) (see jon watched a marine life documentary earlier and--) (anyways.) kon is learning the language too, and it's part of their family history.
now of course, kids are curious, and i think there'd be a bit of difficulty navigating just how much to tell him about krypton itself because kids are also not stupid, and him connecting "kryptonian" and "superman" will happen sooner or later, but i think having jon have the family connection to being kryptonian is still important. and it would give him a much deeper understanding of why the secret is secret, rather than just "whoa we have powers that is so cool" slkdjf
but also honestly its pretty funny if baby jon is just like "my dad is superman. no really!!!! i saw his cape in the closet one time!!!!" and his friend's mom just goes ah. more than i wanted to know about what lois lane and her husband get up to in her private time, but okay! and that's that.
#answers#barbitchian#jon is lois's kid hes definitely a snoop and he puts it together#but by the time he's old enough to put it together he's old enough for a family conversation about why keeping it secret is important#i guess that's the tl;dr of it ksdjhf#anyways thanks for the question it was a fun one to chew on!!!#superfam#clark#jon

raving about trans josh . suck my nuts
i honestly don't see a lot for trans josh in art or writing. and i kinda feel like nobody sees a more feminine look or energy for him which is kind of lame. there's nothing that suggests he wouldn't like feminine things, and maybe it's his brazen dialogue that leads people to believe he's like any other dude who strictly presents masculine. which i mean, yes in the game he's never wearing anything that isn't, much like the rest of the guys.
i bring up femininity and masculinity because of how they are depicted in his concept masks. i have a feeling that people might think i "feminize" josh for no reason but the truth is that i got this idea from his concept mask artwork.
sad girl, sheila. sad girl especially is my favorite. and whatever this could just be me running on high levels of copium, but after already headcanoning josh as trans and then seeing these, i cherished this headcanon even more.
i can honestly see josh as transfem or transmasc, he's trans either way to me. i often think about him hiding his true forms of expression in favor of appealing to others, doing it for your own safety, etc, something i think trans people like myself can relate to.
some masks have themes related to motherhood as well.
and listen. i know sometimes horror plays into the themes of femininity within serial killers in horror media (like some being into crossdressing for example), but like i said. when thinking about josh being TRANS and seeing this, it fuels my belief for it more than ever. especially since it's in a Horror game as well.
like obviously this wasn't intended to be in the game as trans coding, it was inevitable for me personally to not let my favorite character get away with being cisgender LMFAO i had to stomp that out, it's just something i do, i think other trans people in fandom can relate to projecting that onto their faves.
and i know the until dawn fandom is fond of trans chris as it's literally the only trans headcanon i ever see no shade. and i like that one! truthfully, i do. sometimes i'm at odds with the way it's characterized in fics and whatnot, but it's a wholesome and harmless headcanon. i just wish i saw more for trans josh :-(
a lot of this headcanon requires brainstorming i think, you're not gonna use a lot of like. in game proof (besides the concept art) to try and justify it bc you literally don't need to for any lgbt headcanon honestly. esp in a heteronormative game like until dawn. like i know there's no way in Hell that SMG intended for josh to be trans, but it's my favorite headcanon ever and the only headcanon i've ever made a whole TIMELINE for because it speaks to me so much.
i also wanna bring up body horror and transformation. this also has to do with trans hannah. this, iirc, was kind of around back in the days of the fandom, but it's truly one of the best. i don't know if anyone at the time considered it. but i took hannah's transformation (and by proxy, josh's too) as trans coding as well, ofc it wasn't intended that way, i just think it makes things more interesting.
the idea of your body changing and you can't stop it sounds a lot like puberty to me and how it felt when i was going through it. sometimes horror movies even indulge in this idea, leading a lot of people to believe it as a metaphor for growing up trans (i've watched a lot of video essays mentioning this concept) and i wasn't gonna let josh or hannah off that easy. you are both TRANSGENDER.
of course this is all just projecting, but i just want these hcs to get some more love. also feminine josh, come on guys, can you really not see it for him? bc i can. maybe not as something he does Outwardly with confidence, but still, i don't see josh as him being strictly masculine, although i still love that look for him. not saying i don't.
thanks for coming to my ted talk.
+ some more masks. i love the doll related ones because i associate josh and hannah with dolls. like a lot.
#josh#hannah#i honestly see josh in a lot of dark feminine outfits#not even like. over the top feminine but just subtly#i always give him an air of it in my art or writing#because personally as a trans person#i connect a lot to femininity in my own way#it still means a lot to me and isn't something i wanna flush away#bc i think it's beautiful as the same with masculinity#i don't know.... i have a complicated relationship with gender but#i hope this made sense#don't jump me please h my hod

I might be drowning in lost fic requests. 🤦🏻♀️ If you can help I would REALLY appreciate it. ❤️
Stiles started dating this really abusive guy, he cut off all contact with the pack, his dad Etc and the guy moves them away (maybe Chicago). Stiles eventually leaves him and goes back home and it turns out the pack and his dad have been trying to find him.
Lost River (never reached the sea) by scribespirare | 13.2K | Mature Three years Stiles has been gone. Three years, and then out of the blue he shows up on Derek's front porch, bloody and bruised and in need.
I am looking for a fic where there's the monster of the week (it's maybe an incubus?) and it shifts to look like stiles. It convinces derek to not turn him into the rest of the pack. Derek agrees just to be able to be with 'stiles.' scott i think figures it out? And tells derek that it would have slowly killed him.
Derek hates touch because of Kate and flinches whenever someone touches him. But Stiles does this thing where he never touches Derek, instead he lets his hand hover around him, allowing for Derek to initiate the contact if he wants to. Oh! And Cora’s alive and I’m pretty sure the one who notices this. She ends up confronting Stiles about it at some point. I know it’s pretty short, just one chapter/ a one-shot, and around 5,000 words. I think, I could be wrong.
i see that you've come so far [just like them old stars] by crossroadswrite | 2.3K But her big brother’s unwillingness to touch anyone, like he thinks he doesn’t deserve it isn’t the only thing she notices. She also notices how Stiles doesn’t touch him. Everyone reaches for Derek in some form or another, but Stiles- Stiles is something different altogether because he reaches for Derek but he never makes contact.
Hi! Could you please help me find this fic where Derek is an alpha but of like the whole town I think? Or something. Stiles keeps getting into trouble or losing control (or something) and he goes to stay with Derek for a few weeks to help him behave/get focused because hes the alpha. Derek helps him focus better on his homework and runs exercises with him to burn off excess energy and misses him when he goes back to his dad's. That's all I remember, sorry its so vague.
Do you know of a fixk where derek and Stiles kill Gerard together but when chris ask them about it they act surprised he did? I dont know anything other than this so sorry
Basically it's young Derek x Stiles, Derek is part of the basketball team and they end up going on like a trip for a basketball game. Stiles tags along and they end up staying at a motel (they share a room). At some point it's Stiles’ Mothers death anniversary and Derek brings him fast food back from his jog. And I'm like 90% certain that there's like a bonfire at the back of the motel and Derek brings out his guitar infront of everyone and starts singing abt his crush on Stiles.
Okay sooo, young Derek x Stiles but the hale family are still alive. There's this whole thing about them both promising to have a starwars marathon. Derek also draws a lot in this sketchbook thing, he's like rlly private abt it but stiles ends up looking in it and finding a drawing of both him and Derek. Then Derek kind of wolfs out? He like loses control a bit and is afraid of hurting Stiles. OH! And then there's another bit where theyre playfighting in the Hales' kitchen and Derek pins Stiles down and stiles gets really embarrassed abt it. And then at the end there's like a really cute line abt their hearts beating as one 🥺🥺
Hey! I hope you or your followers can help me out but I've been wracking my brain on this one for awhile trying to remember this fic where everyone loses their memory of Stiles' existence but this is where I get fuzzy on the details. All I can remember is that Stiles returns to his house and his dad threatens him because he doesn't recognize him and so he ends up at Derek's. IIRC, Derek doesn't actually recognize him either (he might reveal this right away or later?) but helps him anyhow?
Hi! Ive been trying to find this fic, it was a amnesia type fic and I believe Derek went to visit his family who live out of state, he planned on finally telling them about Stiles but hes in an accident, loses his memories, and his family starts trying to set him up on dates(?). I think some of his family were wellknown or famous or someone told Stiles about Derek going out and Stiles just assumes he'd wanted out of the relationship but didnt want to tell him. Its mostly the summary I remember😅
Hi, I'm looking for a fic where young Stiles meets Derek in the woods as a werewolf, helps him get back home, to thank Stiles he writes him a letter and Derek replies that they become pen pals. That's what I remember that's how it starts. thank you!

I read something about the GOG version of Resident Evil and checked to see if it was true
I sent this before, Jill doesn't use ink ribbons to save, she can save freely
But it turns out that's only for Jill, Chris still needs ink ribbons to save. The GOG version is based on an earlier PC port that did the same, I can't test this for myself at the moment, but Jill not needing ink ribbons apparently only happens on the first playthrough, the second playthrough onward she needs ink ribbons.
On a side note, personally I found the best version of classic Resident Evil was the DS version, Resident Evil: Deadly Silence. It has higher quality pre-rendered backgrounds and subtitles in the English version too. The knife also doesn't take a slot in the inventory in that version, it has its own dedicated button where Jill/Chris will take out the knife no matter what weapon is currently equipped.
It also had some not-very-fun touchscreen minigames, but thankfully they were optional.
That is just weird and potentially sexist about the ink ribbons, knife thing always annoyed me in the OG games, it really should just be part of the uniform like it is in 4 and I think Dead Aim iirc, but that one was a one off game so it probably doesn't count.
They do the loading screens on the DS for continuity or no, probably wouldn't need them with a cart but it's still the RE thing so I imagine they did.
