Okay so I’m real bored and I just want to give out some book recommendations by MWAH !!!!!!!

Howls moving castle

Synopsis: Sophie has the great misfortune of being the eldest of three daughters, destined to fail miserably should she ever leave home to seek her fate. But when she unwittingly attracts the ire of the Witch of the Waste, Sophie finds herself under a horrid spell that transforms her into an old lady. Her only chance at breaking it lies in the ever-moving castle in the hills: the Wizard Howl's castle. To untangle the enchantment, Sophie must handle the heartless Howl, strike a bargain with a fire demon, and meet the Witch of the Waste head-on. Along the way, she discovers that there's far more to Howl-and herself-than first meets the eye.

Okay so now obviously everyone knows Howl’s moving castle from the movie (10/10 movie please watch). But honestly the book is so different!! I really feel like the book shines in a different way that the movies does. If you’ve seen the movie than the book is like if the movie versions of these characters do crack. This book was so light and easy, and if your able to get your hands on the audiobook I legit can’t recommend it enough. Howl is such a fun a character, and Sophie is just so silly. This book just remains so consistent and honestly I feel like the writing style almost makes these characters feel alive!!

The ocean at the end of the lane

Synopsis: A middle-aged man returns to his childhood home to attend a funeral. Although the house he lived in is long gone, he is drawn to the farm at the end of the road, where, when he was seven, he encountered a most remarkable girl, Lettie Hempstock, and her mother and grandmother. He hasn't thought of Lettie in decades, and yet as he sits by the pond (a pond that she'd claimed was an ocean) behind the ramshackle old farmhouse, the unremembered past comes flooding back. And it is a past too strange, too frightening, too dangerous to have happened to anyone, let alone a small boy.

This book genuinely is not what I was expecting it to be but nonetheless was so exceptional. If you’re not familiar with Gaimens work, just know that’s a line. He wrote the novels for Good Omens and Coraline, which are both very famous movie/TV shows! The best way I can describe Gaimens work is literally that it’s so British. This book for me was consistently unexpected, in my mind I was like “this is going to happen!” And it didn’t! Not in like a plot-twisty way, in a “I was nottt expecting that”. This book takes an interesting approach on the concept of lost childhood memories. I think it’s a concept you don’t usually see but I feel like the way Gaimen handled it just made it so interesting. I truly felt for the narrator throughout this novel, this poor boy!

This is Amiko, do you copy?

Synopsis: Other people don't seem to understand Amiko. Whether eating curry rice with her hands at school or peeking through the sliding doors at her mother's calligraphy class, her curious, exuberant nature mostly meets with confusion. When her mother falls into a depression and her brother begins spending all his time with a motorcycle gang, Amiko is left increasingly alone to navigate a world where she doesn't quite fit.

AH!! This book was honestly so interesting to read and I highly recommend to anyone who is fond of Fujimoto's 'Goodbye Eri' and 'Look back'. The writing in this book was honestly top TIER. I think writing this book's perspective from a neurodivergent girl's POV in a society that doesn't really accept that is so interesting. Throw it into the context of her dysfunctional family who after a major event kind of fall part and no one is there to help her in some many different aspects of life is really interesting. I think this and the ocean at the end of the lane are the shortest here on this list but I really do recommend. Out of all the books I’ve recommended I will say this is the most depressing, but something about this book is soooo I don’t know how to put it. It’s definitely one of those books that will leave you thinking awhile after you’ve read it. I can stress enough how much of this book is worth to read!! It’s so tragic.

The space between here and now

Synopsis: Perfect for fans of They Both Die at the End and You've Reached Sam, this gripping, atmospheric YA novel follows a teen with a mysterious condition that transports her to the past when she smells certain scents linked to specific memories. Seventeen-year-old Aimee Roh has Sensory Time Warp Syndrome, a rare condition that causes her to time travel to a moment in her life when she smells something linked to that memory. Her dad is convinced she'll simply grow out of it if she tries hard enough, but Aimee's fear of vanishing at random has kept her from living a normal life. When Aimee disappears for nine hours into a memory of her estranged mom--a moment Aimee has never remembered before--she becomes distraught. Not only was this her longest disappearance yet, but the memory doesn't match up with the story of how her mom left--at least, not the version she's always heard from her dad. Desperate for answers, Aimee travels to Korea, where she unravels the mystery of her memories, the truth about her mother, and the reason she keeps returning to certain moments in her life. Along the way, she realizes she'll need to reconcile her past in order to save her present.

The concept of this book is really interesting and is executed in a really fun and new way. I feel like in a lot of 'time travel' books it gets too complicated or it just ends up lacking any sense and at some point stops making sense. This book didn't have that problem; having her 'time travel' be her going back to her memories was such a cool concept, and she executed it so well. I really enjoyed her descriptions of what it feels like to travel, and I'm glad she went into depth with it instead of leaving it up to the imagination. This book also did really well in showing that our main character was a teenager. Something about the way she wrote really made us feel like we were in a teenage girl's head-not in a choppy or bad way where it made you roll your eyes, but in a way that made you able to relate to the character. I also really liked how likable our main character was; it added to the reading experience! Also, I really liked how the main mystery of the plot was resolved; it was really interesting, and honestly, it wasn't expected! And to add onto what I said before, the time travel powers almost feel like they could be the powers of a life is strange protagonist if that makes any sense to anyone.

I remember I read this for the book club I was in last year and I am forever grateful. I was a little hesitant going into this book because I genuinely did not really like either these violent delight books. However this book is actually so good. If you’re in a reading slump I highly recommend this novel to get you out. This plot follows genuinely a really interesting concept, and I liked the way body hopping was kind of represented. I also do feel like it’s an interesting play on this kind of hunger games concept. However I will warn you the body hopping powers are confusing but just go along with it. The actual world of this is inspired by an old city in China (which name I have forgotten) but if you compare to what that city looked like and to what’s described in the book Chloe gets it down to a T. The plot twists of these books are genuinely just so much fun. There’s so many little hints scattered around it makes you want you get a bulletin board and put the little lines up. Not to mention the ENDINGG, I was gagged. The sequel is this novel is also coming out later this year as well!

Brenda Wright (Daisy Edgar-Jones) conoce a Allen Lafferty (Billy Howle) en la iglesia de los mormones, ella es hija de un obispo moderno de la iglesia que piensa que sus hijas deben estudiar y no estar a las órdenes, ni ser las sumisas de ningún hombre.

Allen llega a casa cubierto de sangre y los detectives lo detienen como principal acusado del asesinato de Brenda y Erica.

Jep Pyre también es mormón y conoce a los Lafferty y a Allen y Brenda de la iglesia, él también es un buen mormón, entregado, respetado y que entiende al padre celestial como la imagen representada del señor en la tierra.

A lo largo de 7 capítulos, los detectives Pyre y Taba desgranan el crimen ocurrido, todo es cruel y desagradable y está más cerca de una visión distorsionada del señor que de la realidad.

Lo cierto es que cuando los padres de los Lafferty se van de misiones y dejan a su hijo Dan al cargo, no son conscientes de la mala decisión. Dan viendo señor y dueño de todo, intenta montar su clínica de quiropráctico, pero los pagos al estado hacen que sus beneficios sean reducidos, por lo que deciden que ninguno de los Lafferty va a pagar impuestos, vengan de donde venga, ya sean multas, o pagos mensuales. Solo se van a preocupar de pagar agua, luz y teléfono.

Empiezan con esa pequeña cosa y deciden volverse mormones más clásicos y obviar las evoluciones de la religión para desempolvar viejos libros y creerse los elegidos del señor. Asegurando que el espíritu santo les habla y les dice que es el momento de leer el Pacificador. Dan y Ron se consideran los elegidos por el señor y como tal quieren poner de manifiesto la poligamia, golpear con violencia a sus mujeres y casarse con niñas de 14 años.

Todo esto crispa a las mujeres de los Lafferty que sufren la injusticia de los hermanos y sus ansias de poder, y Matilda descubre que Dan pretende casarse con las hijas que tuvo con su anterior marido, y que tienen 12 y 14 años. Por otro lado, la mujer de Ron, Dianna (Denise Gough) es golpeada tan duramente, que la iglesia le permite divorciase de Ron y huir de él con sus hijos.

Cuando la situación se sale de control y Dan y Ron manipulan al resto de sus hermanos para que sean infieles y golpeen a sus esposas. Allen, influenciado por ellos, deja de pagar las multas y acaba en la cárcel. Esto hace que su relación con Brenda se tense y que este le diga que no es una mujer entregada si no se casan y empiezan a tener hijos. Que ella debe revisar sus prioridades y asumir que para los mormones la familia va primero. Así Brenda deja su trabajo como periodista y se queda embarazada de Erica.

Jep no puede creer que la iglesia tenga hermanos tan podridos, y pese a que su religión es firme y que la devoción y la fe son el único camino y los hermanos Dan y Ron han retorcido tanto la creencia que ahora se creen por encima de todo, tanto que redactan una lista de personas que hay que asesinar y en ella se encuentran muchos nombres, pero también el de Brenda y su hija de 15 meses, Erica.

Así, ambos asesinan a la joven madre y a su hija y huyen a por su siguiente objetivo, los que ayudaron a huir a Dianna, otros miembros de la congregación. Pero no los encuentra y comienza su huida buscando cazar a Dianna y a sus hijos.

Todo lo unidos que estaban en la boda o el bautizo de la niña, es todo lo contrario cuando llegan a casa de su hermano para asesinar a su mujer y a su hija, solo porque desde un punto de vista más modernista, pidió a todos los que su propia iglesia les dice que acuda para buscar resolución les da la espalda. Por los movimientos de Brenda, y sus propias revelaciones en contra de su iglesia, ambos son sacados de la iglesia, por lo que solo siguen sus propios designos y lo que creen firmemente que el espíritu santo les dice como elegidos de Dios.

Esta historia está basada en el crimen real de Brenda Wright Lafferty que fue asesinada por sus cuñados en su casa junto a su hija Erica, por una religión que aceptaron y adaptaron a sus necesidades. A día de hoy, uno ha fallecido, el otro sigue en el corredor de la muerte. Ninguno se arrepiente del asesinato de Brenda y Erica, ni lo hicieron nunca. Siguen convencidos de que fue un mandato de Dios.

adrien is chloe’s beta and she rejects about 50% of his suggestions, most of which are the corrections on his name or suggestions on how to make chat noir look cooler. she does accept his changes to chat noir’s dialogue and marinette and alya are stunned that chloe knows that many cat puns.

The only downside of it was that you always felt a pair of eyes on you, even at home. One night you are on one of your usual walks, when you hear bushes rustling and the leaves and tree branches snapping, you stop walking and look around. “Hello?” You called out looking around cautiously.

You hear more leaves snapping. “I have mace on me!” You say in fear. Then the noises go silent. You’re weirded out and scared, so you quickly walk home, you get inside and lock your door almost immediately. You turn around and see someone standing right behind you, freakishly close. you think to yourself “how the hell did she get in”..you slowly back away from her, til your back hits your front door

“Who are you and how did you get in!?” You yell slightly as you look around for any type of item you could use as a weapon. She doesn’t say anything as she watches you. You stare at her waiting for her to answer, she just stays silent, staring deep into your eyes, you’re anxious, suddenly she starts walking slowly towards you..now her body is almost pressed against yours.

while Adrien is still a model, he also participates in "cat shows", which are like the real world counterpart we have, except its more to show off agility and a well-groomed coat...but this often results in Adrien batting a cat toy around on stage and the audience going "his FORM! it's immaculate!" i don't think he'd like participating in these shows very much. he finds them fake (and boring. Because he always wins)

marinette, like a hamster, uses her cheek pouches as a place to store things. she will bring her friends snacks this way. they are polite and accept the treats...even if they're like "umm...this was in your mouth?" sometimes she forgets she put something in there until someone points it out

Adrien's fur is softer than soft. supremely soft and conditioned. he takes very good care of his coat and brushes it daily. this may or may not be because his mom scared him as a kid telling him if he doesn't take good care of his fur, it'll fall off and he'll look like his father (a sphinx cat)

nino's tail is almost always wagging. especially when he is with alya. that is one happy dog

you know how baby hamsters start as "pinkies" with no fur? yeah that was Marinette. have fun with that visual

lila tried to say she was a rare breed of fox for the longest time. people bought it

gorilla is a silverback gorilla. you can't change my mind. it's practically canon

chloe is extremely conceited about the fact that she is a mink

Felix still tries to impersonate Adrien. when people question where all Adrien's perfectly groomed fluff went, felix tells them he had a bad trip to the groomers. that becomes a headline in all the magazines

when Adrien first develops a crush on Marinette he physically cannot stop himself from purring at the sight of her and Nino has to discreetly be like "bro, your motor started up again"

whenever luka is getting into a really good jam it's hard to stop himself from howling to the music

Hun. It was that sort of sickly sweet patronize that made Brooke want to reach over and claw her ex co-captain's eyes out.

Well that, and the little digs that followed suit.

Brooke tried her best to look and feel unaffected. But, deep down she was seething and frothing at the mouth. This game of catty remarks, Brooke knew all too well. She'd had the privilege of learning from the best. The best being Bianca, who like Chloe, wasn't Brooke's biggest fan right now. Although, at least Bianca had a valid reason. Brooke slept with her boyfriend (sorry, ex boyfriend.) Whereas, Chloe was just a bitch. Basic in every way and simply begging for any scraps of popularity she could find.

It was almost as sad as it was pathetic.

"No, you're too busy riding my coattails." Speaking of that.... "How's it feel to know you're only captain now because I left? And, not because you actually have the talent OR the admirers." Cheerleading was a lot like their social ladder. You're only as good as your competition, and without Brooke there to keep her on her A game, Chloe was bound to only remain in power until she graduates or someone better comes along. The latter being much more likely, given how awful she was at tumbling.

If Brooke truly wanted to, she could join Westham's cheerleading squad and wipe the mat with Chloe at Regionals. Who knows? She just might.

"By the way, I hear you and Jake are a thing now." Just saying it out loud, makes Brooke feel like she's going to hurl the liquor she just consumed. "You should probably know, he's been blowing up my phone saying he wants to get back together." Given Chloe's immense crush on Jake, Brooke couldn't resist rubbing the little detail in her new sworn enemy's face. "You may wanna hold off on planning the wedding. Not that, you could probably afford it anyway."

Hearing the blonde’s exclamation of dread only caused Chloe’s smile to widen. It was nice to know she still had some kind of negative affect on the girl even though they weren’t going to the same school anymore. Chloe would never admit this but it was almost a relief now that Brooke was no longer on the cheer team. She felt now she was able to get the attention she deserved and her ideas and contributions would be more acknowledged now that she could be caption all by herself. That and it would be a lot easier to go after Jake. “Look what East Mount chewed up and spit out.” She answered back lifting her own solo cup to her lips before taking a small sip.  “How’s it going hun? Enjoying your new school?”

She pouted her lips playfully. “Aww, that’s too bad. Maybe you two could facetime after he’s done grading papers." Chloe out a short laugh. “I’m good love, my grades are just fine. I don’t need to scrounge for extra credit like some people." She responded with a smirk giving Brooke a once over.
