man what i'd give for more channels/podcasters from people who actually like. pay attention to a manga/anime and don't simply take it at surface value. and don't just talk about the plot or future twists, or talk about it in a wacky tone. or actually acknowledge different interpretations and talk about their own real emotional connection an with the work, what they like and dislike about it, critique it and fondly recommend it with actual emotion and thought. i give supereyepatch a lot of shit for his interpretations of certain works (made in abyss in particular but that's also bc i hate made in abyss, and yes i am salty about his take on the part 1 ending of chainsaw man) but he actually GIVES A SHIT when he recs or gushes about a work, he actually seems to care and talks about the emotions and memories these works evoke in him, when he talks about animanga he actually points out narrative and artistic techniques the creator uses and how they're used and what he likes/dislikes about them. i wish more channels would do that, albeit with better takes!

Scenario that's been playing through my mind for WOnderland:

Someone has been seriously injured- my knee jerk is to say Kain just cause that's who Tim's gonna be closest with and should anything happen to that guy after the fact of having bonded quite closely with him can promise Tim would do anything for his friend. But honestly could be anyone as he slowly warms up to them to some degree or another- and idk I feel weird solidifying it down to it have to being X specific character

Regardless over all bad situation, Tim wants to help doesn't know how until remembering his own healing capabilities and knowing a bit more of what he is -how much he actually understands in regards to who knows but only that in that moment figuring what if they could give that to the one in trouble that maybe through someone using be it magic or alchemy could it help them?

And him just insisting "use me"

Would it actually work? Maybe, maybe not who knows, I like to think it would but very open to whatever best fits the situation and what not

Heck maybe it's Kumo maybe he just, whether through what you want to call animal instinct or something else can tell something seems off about the swordsman and wants to help

Not just cause he cares but also to a certain extent, that mind set persisting that at the end of the day he was/is still just a tool. Something to be used by others (only now with a bit more agency on deciding how and who gets to use him instead of just willfully going along with whatever he's told)

Avian Expectations

A small essay about the difference between the pop culture Bird and being a bird.

Being a bird is probably one of the most romanced identity. Being a bird means nothing, behavior wise, scientifically. Yet, being a bird portrays something very specific into people's mind.

Being a bird is freedom. It's effortless flight, belonging to the realm of air and never wanting to touch ground again. Being a bird is adventure, migration. A good half of movies about birds are about overcoming the thrilling dangers of going over entire continents in one year, the reward of seeing an exotic haven far from the cold. Sometimes, being a bird is being a strange endearing critter, voice mimicry, stealing shiny things, cuddling up and preening one's flock. Other times, being a bird is a sharp beak and sharper claws and being the Predator from Above, undefeated in the heights.

I've seen a lot of people question birds with that idea of a bird in mind. And, clearly, it can be true. One bird I know is migratory to her very core, the pull of Africa leading her to travel, irresistible. Another deeply intertwined with the drop of gravity as it's ultimate strength, entire biology built to master it.

But I cannot relate to people who go into questioning bird from the perspective of the Pop Culture Bird Homonculus, of this chimera of all the Cool Bird Traits. It seems like a fictional character to me, without all the little details that make being a bird real. Perhaps it is because I break all of these core traits.

I do not fly well, I glide when I must, and more often I run. I much prefer the ground. I am not migratory, and one part of being a roadrunner to me is Territory, and Surviving winter. I've never had the luxury of fleeing the cold, as much as i dislike it. I do not mimic all that much, I am solitary, I hunt by running along the grass. Barely bird, in the eye of the Being a Bird rules.

Rules say, then, i should not relate to being a bird. perhaps being a roadrunner for me would be akin to coyotes. Perhaps it would be akin to cats. But no, i do in fact relate to birds.

As it turns out, there is still a strong difference, for me, between the Being A Bird non-birds imagine and the actual one. I don't fly, i glide, i struggle to get to heights. A heavy sea eagle responded, saying how they felt flight as tool, from perch to perch, to scan for prey, too costly to waste in play.

I say that i hunt on foot, that i do not relate to the dive of the kestrel or the flight of the swift. A burrowing owl answer; saying they too prefer hunting grasshoppers from their height, sometimes perching but often just lurking around the grass.

I say i am alone, i do not have a flock, and a heron responds, why should you ? You are fine on your own.

I have met flightless cormorants, I have met penguins. On the contrary, I have met falcons, I have met corvids. The shapes of birdhood shift and change, but in the end, I tend to find someone for each things, be it bird like or not. Bird is a wide ground. Bird is a simplification, so that others can understand a flawed but easy view.

I am not A Bird, by pop culture definition. Yet i am very much a bird who relates to beings extremely far from me, behaviorally. honestly there's a point of no explanation. I share phantom feathers with them and beaks, but i couldn't be further from a hummingbird. It's a strange conundrum. So close yet so far, every species that talks about it. always slivers of Me-Truth, always things i just gloss over. a bird is not an animal, its a concept. i wish people would take that in account more before diving in it.

you never use your nen on him for silly reasons

whenever you do you're either telling him to run away or to rest because he overworked himself

and since you take care of him he's sure to take care of u too :3

if you use your nen too much and the drawbacks affect you he will help you recover

Guys, I hate to be that person, but Genesis and Angeal being older than Sephiroth is not a theory: it's the literal narrative of Crisis Core.

Genesis is an academic with a perfect use of language for dramatic purposes, and he told the story of the Jenova Project in perfect order: first Project G, then Project S, using the failures of the former to ensure a good success of the latter.

The progress is clear: Failure (Genesis) < still not there (Angeal) < success (Sephiroth)

Sephiroth being the youngest is not speculation, but intentional storytelling. They could always retcon this, but there was no doubt in the original script, at least the fact that Project G came first.

There could still make Genesis the middle child because their order of birth has not being stated, but there's no doubt about Sephiroth being the youngest, since Genesis stated it in Nibelheim.

Yeah, it would be awkward having a character called "The Origin" not being the first born, but in meta he would still be the origin of the crisis, so it could work. I don't like this option -logically the biggest "error" should be on the first try- but that's the only non-canon thing they could change without retconning.

I could go on telling you that basically Genesis also told us that Sephiroth is genetically sterile. Which makes perfect sense: Hojo could have just made another S by reproduction if it was possible.

I have a bunch of theories about the genetics of AGS, but they could sum up in "Genesis and Angeal are chimeras, Sephiroth is an hybrid" (and most hybrids, expecially males, are indeed sterile due to extra chromosomes).

My friends asked me if I wanted to join the School AU with their OCs and I thought for the longest time before bringing Lya to the party. Then I kinda just felt like it and drew the whole gang :D They came out beautifully so more information and separated images undercut!

Very light in weight, makes her defiant attempts usually ineffective.

Went through a lot to make things easier for her loved ones.

Skilled in segg but doesn't really enjoy it anymore at this point if it's not with her loved one. What she seeks in segg with her lover is intimacy and the feeling of security.

Secretly a meanie. Gets jealous easily and envious of almost anyone, but doesn't show it or act on it often.

Despises the Temple to her core but believes Jordan is a genuinely good person. Wanted to fuck him just because.

Protective toward her lover and the children at the Orphanage.

Very insecure about her financial state. She tried to make money anytime she could.

They don't set a love interest because of that, so they can't get attached and can freely roam everywhere.
