My favorite thing as a kid was to watch my siblings play peewee sports.

My brother played soccer when he was 8 (a public league, not school affiliated) and his coach always told the kids that having fun was the most important thing for both teams.

One day, they were playing against a more aggressive team and this one kid kept nearly tripping over himself and the other kids in his single-minded focus to get the ball.

My brother had the ball at one point and figured out that the other kid didn't seem to be having any fun without the ball, so he just... stopped and waved his hands in an "after you" motion for the kid.

His coach couldn't stop laughing and all the parents were so confused.

Going to see children and adolescents dance badly, play ball badly, sing badly, play recorder badly because they are young: YES! YOU ARE LEARNING! INCREDIBLE!

Let’s talk about jockeys, jockeys are great. In his youth Sandy Hawley (Canadian, shown here in 1970s) was that unusual thing of being a good-looking male jockey who was also successful at horse racing. Most jockeys necessarily crackle with powerful short king energy, but young Hawley also understood about having interesting hair.

A nice thing is when famous jockeys are still alive and relatively uninjured. He is still alive and active in horse stuff, along with his current wife, Kaoru Tsuchiya, who was the first female jockey to race in Japan.

This is nice in a sport that is risky, tense and hard on jockeys.

Another way that Mihawk’s perfectionism and obsessiveness rears its head is that he wanted Shanks to love him best.

Realistically in terms of people Shanks was probably all Mihawk had and so by default he loved him best but Shanks has so many people an ever growing list of people that he loves and where does Mihawk fall on that list? It’s easy to belive for a long time that he’s at the top. After all it’s him that Shanks keeps crossing oceans for. It’s him that Shanks comes back to again and again testing steel against steel, skin and skin. And things are good

But then Shanks goes to lay low in a little village in the east blue and meets a little boy.

And Mihawk doesn’t even know that he’s “lost” till it’s too late. Until Shanks has already sacrificed an arm and a hat for that boy and how could Mihawk ever compete with that?

And what’s the point of competing if you can’t win? If you can’t be the best?

So he leaves.

I love characters who are flawed and have trauma and make terrible choices based on that trauma. I really do.

I'm saying this because while I've never been a huge sonic fan, I fucking love shadow. I have been all over shadows part in sonic x shadow generations. I am so hype for sonic 3, you don't understand and I did not watch the first 2 movies. I was only interested in shadow. Was.

See, I ship sonadow/shadonic and with the new movie reigniting my interest, I have been reading sonic fanfiction again. With fanfiction comes a need for context. With context comes the understanding that sonics life is so fucked up. Like, I kept seeing christmas island being used as sonics birth place and I looked it up and that's canon. Cool, he came from a place with snow and stuff. Guess who just found out it's named after the real life Christmas island, the island that the US used for nuclear testing back in the 50s without evacuating the nearby town (which there is another government run experiment on the moon in the 50s in canon. Im just saying, theres something we play with there) . And that's just side stuff, there's so much in the games and comics that's just messed up. My guy was stuck in a torture egg for 6 months in forces, and lost his memories but had to keep going in frontier.

I'm just saying this bad boy (smacks a hedgehog obsessed with chili dogs, a struggle food, yes I am reaching based on my own experience and will continue to do so) can hold so much trauma.

I will be overthinking this to make aus at work.

If you aren't prepared to have a disabled child you aren't prepared to have a child. If you would be greatly disappointed by having a child with certain traits, gender, ability, appearance, you are not ready to have a child.

A child is an individual you are ready to guide and care for, for the rest of your life. A child is not a customisable accessory.

Most people will become disabled in their lifetime.

Your child can be born able bodied and then be diagnosed with autism. Your child can have chronic pain from a back injury playing sports as a teenager.

And if you have an ableist or otherwise oppressive mindset, your child could have a trauma disorder or mental illness.

Your child is not a character you're customising to be how you want them to be. They are a human being you are building a parent-child relationship with. This is a person separate from you, even if you created them.

And if you are not willing to accept any child of your own as they are, you are not ready to be a parent.

Your children deserve acceptance and unconditional love, you can't add on conditions.

like this is the corniest statement i've ever seen in my life. your team just lost three in regulation in a row for the first time in years and THAT'S what you think.... help me. traditional leafs media act like no other sports fan on earth has had periods of playoff droughts or disappointments as they actively watch the best regular seasons and best players in franchise history. for a sport with so much discourse about players being too soft, i've never seen such a whiny annoying group of people in my LIFEEEE. people who use sports as a way to feel like they're owed something are fundamentally doing it wrong. go get real life concerns holy shit
