Female & male bodies are different
I'm coming out of the closet from being the gender-neutral Jan E. Pat and showing teenage me teenage who sincerely believed she could compete fairly against males. Sometimes you have to grow up to see your mistakes.
The P.S. DuPont High School Swim Team in 1975 in Wilmington, Del. I’m the one who sticks out the most, along with my mistaken beliefs that girls could compete fairly against people born with genetically embedded testosterone. Skill and training could not win over biology and socialization. Which one of these people doesn’t belong? That’s me, the white girl in the top row. Here’s what I learned…

Me: passes a sign with three different TERF dogwhistles, telling me to vote "no" on NYS Prop 1
Me: well I assume I'm voting yes on whatever that is.
looks it up
The proposal in question:
"This proposal amends Article 1, Section 11 of the New York Constitution. Section 11 now protects against unequal treatment based on race, color, creed, and religion. The proposal will amend the act to also protect against unequal treatment based on ethnicity, national origin, age, disability, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, pregnancy, and pregnancy outcomes, as well as reproductive healthcare and autonomy.  The amendment allows laws to prevent or undo past discrimination."
(bold in original)
Oh yeah, definitely voting yes.
To the TERF in Niskayuna: come on out. I just want to talk. No really, I'm pathetic in a fight, but I need to tell you to your face what an awful person you are.
Also: notice how they're all too happy to throw the disabled, immigrants, women who've experienced pregnancy-related discrimination, and queer people as a whole under the bus if it means excluding trans women.

Dear Chris Murphy, I am a registered Democratic voter in Connecticut and Fuck You.
Chris Murphy insulted a woman for trying to pass a bill to celebrate women's sports and made it about how he teaches his kids to be respectful of everyone. His kids are two boys.

Realized that this account has been my longest running social media. I thought y'all deserved a bit of a reintroduction.
Hi y'all, my name is Kris. I'm (unfortunately) based in DC but have had the pleasure to have lived a wonderful whirlwind of a life in NYC for 7 years. However, I'm making the best of it by healing my inner teenager and doing what she dreamed which is turning myself into a badass DJ (Sunnii). It helps that I've been raving for over a decade and know exactly what things should sound like! Look for me in your city!
Beyond music I'm a huge sports fan! I'm from Philly and a big Philly sports fan. Also a big Formula 1 fan and will cheer for Sir Lewis Hamilton until I die!
I'm a big supporter of human rights and believe that Palestine, Congo, Haiti and every other occupied state should be FREE! Women deserve rights to their bodies. Children deserve food and quality education. If you disagree, unfollow me.
Welcome to your new favorite DJs thoughts, it's a mess in here!

Madison Williams at Sports Illustrated:
A group of 40 professional, Olympic and Paralympic athletes signed a letter regarding recent anti-trans sports bans sent to House of Representatives legislative directors on Monday.
The athletes include USWNT star Megan Rapinoe, recently retired WNBA star Sue Bird and USWNT star Becky Sauerbrunn. The remaining athletes who signed the letter, organized by the LGBTQ advocacy group Athlete Ally, compete in various sports, such as soccer, hockey and rugby.
The letter calls out the Republican-led “Protection of Girls and Women in Sports Act,” HR 734, which would ban transgender and intersex girls and women from competing in sports across the country. If the bill passes, it would become part of Title IX legislation.
The 40 athletes who signed the letter expressed how the proposed bill “does not protect women in sports,” as it would exclude women and girls from getting necessary “mental and physical health benefits.”
A group of more than 40 athletes, including Megan Rapinoe, Becky Sauerbrunn, and Sue Bird, signed a letter organized by LGBTQ+ sports advocacy group Athlete Ally opposing anti-trans bill HR734 that is deceitfully called “Protection of Women and Girls In Sports Act” in which it would ban trans and intersex women athletes from competing in competitions matching their gender identity.

We're not talking about whether a trans person has the right to exist, or whether or not they should have own facilities. We are talking about whether trans women should get to occupy women's spaces, poison women's terms, go to women's prisons, invade women's sports, and keep taking and taking away from women, which is not necessary for them to have safe spaces and rights (look at trans men, nobody has an issue with them), but a choice many trans women make willingly because they enjoy feeling powerful against women. Some even openly hate women and tell us to die on a daily basis. So in this respect, it's not the opinion of more men (or trans men if that's how they wish to call themselves) I'm going to give a shit about, because they're playing victim and are not, they're the invaders. The opinion I'm going to give a damn about is women's and girls' opinions. Because trans women are falsely claiming to be fighting for their safety and well-being, when all they want is to go after women and girls, enable and facilitate paedophilia, avoid hefty rape sentences (for example in Spain when earlier this year a sex offender conveniently claimed to be a woman the second he got arrested, therefore avoiding charges of sexual assault, and going to a prison full of defenceless women for common assault instead), and indulge in sexual paraphilias. Whereas all women and girls want is safety. That's all we're caring about. Safety. Health. Well-being. And if I've got to choose between investing time and energy on facilitating a man's sexual fetishes, or protecting women and young girls, the decision is crystal fucking clear.

You're a badass. You know you can defend yourself, even if the person attacking you knows martial arts, you still have full confidence that you could beat them up. But every time he holds your hand, any time he defends you from a creep, all that floats away. Yes, I have a gold ADCC medal. But god, when he does that, it's like my martial arts accolades don't even matter. In a good way <3 :D

"Arizona’s ban on transgender athletes has been blocked by the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, which called the 2022 law “the essence of discrimination.”
Supporters of the so-called Save Women’s Sports Act claimed that the law protected girls and women in schools and colleges from “unfair competition.” However, the federal court found that pre-pubescent trans girls and trans girls on puberty blockers have no significant physical advantages over cis girls their own age, The San Francisco Chronicle reported.
“[The law] to ensure competitive fairness and equal athletic opportunities for cisgender female athletes cannot be squared with the fact that the Act bars students from female athletics based entirely on transgender status,” Judge Morgan Christen wrote in the court’s 3-0 decision.
“[The law] permits all students other than transgender women and girls to play on teams consistent with their gender identities,” Christen continued, “transgender women and girls alone are barred from doing so. This is the essence of discrimination.”
Two trans girls, an 11-year-old soccer player and a 15-year-old swimmer and volleyball player on puberty blockers, sued to overturn the law; 18 states signed court arguments in favor of the law, and 17 states signed arguments against it.
A lower federal court also ruled against the law, and the two court rulings against it can now be cited as a legal precedent to help other trans girls play sports. However, Arizona could also appeal the decision to be heard by an 11-judge panel on the appeals court or ask the U.S. Supreme Court to rule on the matter.
“A student’s transgender status is not an accurate proxy for athletic ability and competitive advantage,” said Rachel Berg, a lawyer with the National Center for Lesbian Rights who represented the two girls in court. “Our clients are thrilled to be able to continue to play on girls’ sports teams with their friends while this case proceeds to trial.”"

"Checking birth certificate and/or ensuring everyone has a routine physical before competing = egregious violation of personal dignity," Gaines responded. "Forcing girls to undress in front of an intact and exposed male = NOT an egregious violation of personal dignity, but rather kind and inclusive.” I hate posting from Fox News but she summed it up perfectly
Riley Gaines, a former NCAA champion swimmer, called out the double standard in the criticisms of the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act, which House lawmakers passed with zero votes from Democrats.
Gaines on Sunday responded to a critique from Rep. Glenn Ivey, D-Md., who tweeted Thursday the bill would "mean the forced inspection of student-athletes, which is an egregious violation of a student’s personal dignity."
"Checking birth certificate and/or ensuring everyone has a routine physical before competing = egregious violation of personal dignity," Gaines responded. "Forcing girls to undress in front of an intact and exposed male = NOT an egregious violation of personal dignity, but rather kind and inclusive.

"This should be bipartisan, yet not (sic) democrats in the House voted in favor of HR 734. I'll stand with anyone, regardless of party affiliation, who vows to protect girls and women in sports."
Tumblr media
The Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act passed in a 219-203 vote Thursday morning — all the "yes" votes came from Republicans, and all the "no" votes came from Democrats.
Republicans defended the bill as an attempt to spare women and girls from having to compete against transgender women and girls — biological males who can sometimes dominate these sports and prevent some female athletes from making the team. However, several Democrats argued in debate that the GOP bill is an extension of the bullying that transgender students are already facing at school.
Tumblr media
Republicans also accused Democrats of pursuing transgender rights to an illogical end that goes against the intent of Title IX, which most credit with dramatically expanding participation in women’s sports.
"Congress in 1972 created Title IX to protect women's sports to enable women to have an equal playing field in athletics," said Rep. Greg Steube, R-Fla., who sponsored the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act. "In worship to their trans idols, the administration wants to flip that on its head. It is insane."
Under Steube’s bill, educational institutions that receive Title IX funding from the federal government would not be allowed to "permit a person whose sex is male to participate in an athletic program or activity that is designed for women or girls." The bill adds that the sex of an athlete is defined only by their "reproductive biology and genetics at birth."
Tumblr media
House passage sends the bill to the Senate, where Democrat leaders are unlikely to take it up, and President Biden has said he would veto the bill if it made it to his desk.
Fox News’ Pete Kasperowicz contributed to this report.
