Beef Stroganoff
Tumblr media
There are so many versions of beef stroganoff and I feel everybody prefers it a different way. I've been on a six year journey to perfect my own recipe. I think I've finally figured it out.
Ingredients:
1 - 1.5 pounds of beef stew meat
1 packet of onion soup mix
2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
smoked paprika, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder
1 can of Cream of Mushroom soup mix
8 oz sour cream
4 servings of egg noodles or rice
parsley
Part A - In the crockpot:
Combine stew meat, onion soup mix, Worcestershire sauce, spices (minus parsley) and 1/2 cup of water.
Cook for at least 6 hours on low.
You will have created a broth as the meat cooks. Separate the fat from the broth. Discard the fat.
Transfer the contents of the crock pot into a stock pot.
Part B - In the stock pot:
Stir in Cream of Mushroom
Stir in 8 oz of sour cream, going a few ounces at a time.
Taste sauce and add more spices to taste.
Bring to a simmer as a way to thicken broth.
Part C - In a separate pot:
Prepare your egg noodles or rice per instructions. Drain.
Serve stroganoff on top of noodles/rice and garnish with parsley.

Who is this sassy lost child?
[First] Prev <–-> Next
#poorly drawn mdzs#mdzs#lan wangji#a-yuan#A-Yuan knows how to to utilise his big wet eyes to get treats. What a little legend.#The crowd comments about LWJ being 'daddy' and WWX being 'the mother' are a little too 'fan-service bait' for me.#So I am personally reimagining it as another layer of 'misinterpretation of a more complex situation' commentary.#I like how the different styles of interacting with children WWX an LWJ exhibit say so much about their own childhoods.#We - human beings in the real world - take two lessons from how we were parented: What we valued and what we wish we had.#LWJ leaning into indulgence is him pushing back against his own childhood of asceticism. It's something he didn't have - so he gives it.#WWX on the other hand has been *so* defined by his drive to indulge. And here he is the restrictor!#It takes a bit more to see what's going on here. The factors are not singular.#but to keep it in theme with LWJ; I'd propose it is partly his way of establishing structure when he did not have it as a child.#Both approches are a way of saying 'I didn't have this and I wish I did.'#With LWJ it's pretty obvious why...but WWX? What is at your core? What is your regret towards a lack of restriction?#Or...What benefit do you think it gives this child to learn the harsh lessons of going without?#Did it make you strong when you were a child? Do you think it is just the nature of the world and we all must learn it?#How we interact with children is such a fascinating topic to delve into our psychology and neuroses.#In a more light hearted turn of topic:#WWX confirmed to be 'person taking the car to the drive through to order one black coffee for himself' on the triangle spectrum.#LWJ is saying 'we have food at home' as he is opening his wallet ready to order for everyone.#(Technically this is comic 213 but yippee! We are in the 200's now! Thank you all so much for reading and cheering me on!)

Sandwiches
So! Clark is a Kid, and he is making a sandwich, but the Ketchup he puts on it accidentally makes a Summoning Sigil.
He turns around to find a Glowing Eldritch Being floating behind him.
He stares at the Eldritch Beast.
The Eldritch Beast stares at him.
Clark wordlessly picks up 2 more slices of bread, makes a other sandwich, and offers it to Being.
It takes the Sandwich, looks at him, and smirks before saying, "Not bad." And disappearing.
The next day, Clark's parents told him that they were going to have an extremely bountiful Harvest that year, and that they would be able to pay off all of their remaining Debts, lifting all of the stress that he had seen them begin to accumulate over the years.
Later that week during the Party to celebrate their success, Clark sneaks away with a plate of Food, draws that same circle on his favorite Tree, and leaves the Plate of food alongside a note saying "Thanks!"
And thus was the start of an incredible, but rather strange, friendship.
(BTW I left the specific Ghost blank to play around with, cause maybe it wasn't Danny)

When I was a child I loved pickles. Not a normal amount. I loved pickles so much that my mother had to institute a pickle limit. I have no idea how many pickles it takes to make a very absentee parent set a pickle limit but as I was a child of excess let’s assume I craved an unholy bacchanal of pure pickle madness.
After the Pickle Rationing began I was like a poor wartime child deprived of sweets but the sweets were pickles. I’d piteously beg for more than my daily allotment and when the regime of two pickles a day stayed firmly in place I began to develop a system. A pickle system.
I couldn’t get more pickles. But I could draw out the pickle eating experience to hitherto unknown lengths to wring as much joy from each one as possible. The first pickle I ate in a fairly reasonable manner, if more slowly then a regular pickle experience. The second pickle though. The second pickle resembled the first only in the first bite or so. And then I’d take each bite and carefully chew it. And chew it. And chew it. But never swallow. As it began to lose flavor I would carefully dole nibbles of what was left, each fresh burst of pickleness sparking a fraction of the joy of a real bite. But as long as I was chewing, I was eating a pickle.
I could spend hours chewing. Every infinitesimal bit of flavor was systemically worked out of every shred until I was chewing a pickle adjacent cud every day. It took a while for my mom to figure out why I always seemed to be chewing. It could last from lunch to dinner, really, and if I could have saved my disgusting facsimile to resume chewing after dinner I would have.
My mom tried to ban this behavior but ran into my overwhelming stubbornness and autism. I would not be swayed. If there were not more pickles then I would insist on this perverse charade of getting to enjoy them for as long as I could torture their spirits with my mouth.
So my mom lifted the Pickle Ration and I ate myself sick for a week and never mummified a pickle in my mouth again.
