life or death (or confession)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
pairing: riju x gn!reader
summary: in a life or death situation, riju confesses to you!
Tumblr media
“b-before we die here, i need to tell you
 i love you–!”
riju had yelled out those words, closing her eyes as those last three words left her lips. she was waiting for the inevitable to happen; being killed by the enemy. but after a few silent moments, she slowly opened her eyes again, finding the bokoblin that had corner you dead on the ground.
“w-what
?”
as riju looked up, she spotted link and zelda, who had rushed to your aid together. slowly, riju tilted her head, to make sure you were fine as well, but dreading your reaction after what she just said.
“are the two of you okay?”
zelda noticed the tension as riju stared at you, but riju was quick to look away again and brush the whole situation off.
“y-yeah, we're doing great! i– i wasn't worried a bit! i knew you'd come save us
 a-and
 i didn't say anything either–!”
before you could reply to anything riju had said, she hurried ahead, still acting like nothing happened. but as nobody followed, she turned around again.
“c-come on! let's leave before we get attacked again
!”

The Final Promise₊˚✩âŠč
Chapter 10
Linked Universe x reader
Warnings: Angst, tension, violence
₊˚✩âŠč
Wars knew you were special, after all you were the one person in the group who wasn’t Hylian, much less some prophetic hero. But he knew you were more, your visual differences were just the top layer of your peculiarity.
At first, he was very wary of you and your presence. The hours spent examining you and talking to Time about your situation left him lost and frustrated beyond relief. You were strange, and he didn’t like it. He wanted to be nice, of course, he understood the fear and uncertainty you were feeling about the group, as he reciprocated the same feeling toward you: uncertainty and distrust.
Initially, he was hoping that you’d find your way home after a few weeks or months, brushing it off as another lost soul needing guidance and a hero’s promise. But that goal didn’t last long as it was over a year, bordering a year and a half and so much had happened. He felt like
the group wasn’t complete without you, as much as he hated to admit that.
You made the journey feel less depressing and burdensome. Every day was new and undiscovered with you, whether it be a new piece of your own life uncovered to them or a new joke you used, he was in awe.

He needed to tell you how he felt, and he wanted to as soon as you left the inn, giving himself an excuse to follow because you might be in danger. When he saw the Vet being there, he stilled. This was not the plan.
He watched the entire scene go down, wincing at your sharp tone, hoping nobody else woke up from that. A person or two shuffled in their sleep, but no one work up. Next thing he saw was you on Legend’s lap, both of you lost in each other.
He should have been happy for you two, Hylia knows Vet needed someone for ages. She owed him something for all the shit he’s been through
but why did it have to be you? Sweet, kind, beautiful you?
And
didn’t you already have something going on with Time and/or Twilight? Even possibly Sky?
Was this a ruse? Surely you wouldn’t be the type, no, you were smarter than that.
Right?
~
“And you’re sure this will work?” Time asked Wild.
Wild was readjusting his facial covering, sighing with annoyance, “For the last time, Iïżœïżœve done this tens of times before. All I need from you and the rest of the group is to sit still at the Oasis while Y/n and I go talk to Riju in Gerudo Town. It’ll draw way too much attention if all of us come in, even if we got vai garb for you.”
“Right
how long do you think you both will take?”
“We should be back at the Oasis a little after sundown. We’ll take sand seals to get to the village, so the majority of the day will be spent talking to the Chief.”
Time nods, “Just be cautious, you never know who can pass the guards, even something as heavily guarded as Gerudo Town. I’d know.”
While Wild was talking to the old man, You were fastening your supplies onto your sash, going through your checklist of supplies.
You fidgeted with your necklace, tracing the Hylian insignia to calm you down.
Why the hell were you so nervous?
“You’re nervous.” Four stated, eyeing your necklace. You hum.
“We’ll be right here the entire day, waiting for you. Just stick with the Champion and you’ll be fine.” You nod, seems simple enough to follow.
With a few waves and nods, you and Wild were off on your Sand Seals, being the most efficient and quick way to reach Gerudo Town.
The wind was refreshing, despite the sun beating its rays down upon you, as if it was trying to test your limits of heat. Wild was practically showing off, doing twists and hops, just laughing at his own antics. You’ve shield surfed before, but having the extra pull and momentum gave an extra edge to the thrill.
Wind would love this. You’d have to show him when you got back that night.
Before you knew it, you and Wild approached Gerudo Town, handing off the reigns to a merchant and heading towards the two guards stationed in front of the main entrance.
“What is your reason of being here?” she asked, voice deep.
Wild looked at you, reminding you that you were the main spokesperson for today.
“Ah- right. We have an appointment with Chief Riju?”
The two guards give each other a glance before letting you in, your shoulders releasing the tension the second you passed the threshold.
Wild led you forward, pointing out a few stalls that you’d both check out later as he needed to restock on a few ingredients anyways. You saw a few jewelry and clothing stalls, and even a tattoo parlor that seemed brand new. You didn’t remember seeing it when you played through the game.
You felt Wild clasp your hand in his, leading you up the stairs to the throne room. You could hear a few voices talking, no doubt something related to your meeting.
“Ah! Link! There you are. And this must be your friend, Y/n. I’ve heard so much about you!” Riju exclaims, already making her way towards you.
You panicked, bowing to her, “It’s a pleasure to meet you, Chief Riju.”
She waves her hands, “Oh please! There’s no need for such formalities, any friend of Link’s is a friend of mine. Please, just call me Riju.”
You stand up straight, nervously fumbling with your necklace again, a clear indicator that you were not the best at being social. How was Wild being so nonchalant?
“We came for the
updates. You mentioned in your letter something about the desert ruins and possibly the Yiga Clan?”
Letter? Wild never mentioned a letter-
“Ah, yes! Follow me, I have some information in my study. I sent you the letter months ago, but there’s been some developments
” she trailed off, leading you both to her room.
You gave him a look.
Why was everyone keeping things from you? First Legend now Wild

What else do you not know?
“Like I was saying, we’ve found some old artifacts sticking out from the remains of the Arbiter’s Grounds. It doesn’t serve much purpose to us, but we thought you could take a look and see if its anything you might be booking for or might help.”
Riju handed Wild a flat object covered in a beige tarp. He untied the loose knot, uncovering the black slab of rock with familiar markings on it.
“That’s a piece of the Twilight Mirror. How
”
Riju looks at you, “Ah, so you do know what it is! I presumed it had something to do with the Twili tribe but I wasn’t sure. I should’ve known you would have found it familiar, after all you’re the hero’s guide.”
You hum, you were still getting used to the title. It didn’t sit right with you that people regarded you in such a high manner. It was unnatural, considering your background.
“Did you see any other possible artifacts or pieces of the mirror? The rest couldn’t have gone far.”
Riju sighs dejectedly, “No, unfortunately. The research team scouted out the ruins high and low and even dug under a few feet, but nothing came up. There were some markings on the old columns, but nothing noteworthy.”
She pauses for a moment before turning back to Link, “However, the Yiga Clan showed up halfway through the research, though not in a hostile manner. At least, not towards us. Toward Link, Y/n, and your group, rather. They mentioned something about hooded figures entering their hideout demanding your guide.”
Wild stiffens at that and turns to you, “Weren’t those the figures you were reading about?”
You nod. Shit, you left the book back at the Oasis. You always manage to forget something.
“Chie- Riju, did the Yiga mention anything about the hooded figures? Did they look peculiar or mention anything of importance?”
Riju thinks for a moment.
“One of the Yiga members did mention they wore full-length black robes, and had masculine voices. They also said one threatened a clan member using Fae magic, though Fae magic is almost unheard of, at least in this time period. I can’t offer much information right now, as I didn’t directly talk to the member, but I can corroborate with one of my guards that went on the short expedition and write down notes to mail to you.”
“That would be really helpful, thank you Riju.” Link states.
“Do you mind if we hold onto this mirror shard? It's small enough for us to travel with and it might prove to be useful in our
travels.” There was no easy way to put interdimensional and time travel into casual conversation, but Riju got the meaning behind his words.
“Yes, of course. I suggest wrapping it up in a tarp or cloth as this material is very peculiar and we don’t know what it's capable of.”
Link rewrapped the mirror shard, storing it in his Sheikah Slate. You’d have to examine it later, maybe take a closer look at the hieroglyphics if you can.
“I’ll have the guards escort you out, as I have a few more meetings to get to with a few ambassadors from outside of the desert. It was wonderful meeting you, Y/n. I do hope we meet again soon,” she said with a smile. You thanked her, waving goodbye as you and Link made your way back to the main plaza.
“I’m gonna go stock up on a few things. You can go look around if you want, just don’t leave without me.”
You nod wordlessly, meandering about the main square as you examine all sorts of wares. You didn’t have the chance to get a ton of rupees in a while, so you were a bit tight on what you could get, but you bought a small ruby ring for a certain bunny, as a small thanks for being vulnerable with you. It was nothing compared to what you wanted to verbally express to him, but it was just a small symbol of trust and appreciation.
Stuffing the ring into your pouch, you keep walking around the town, munching on a piece of Hydromelon. It was in season, so the flavors were bursting on your tongue.
You made your way around a corner, finding it to be a dead end. You were about to turn around to make your way back to the main square before someone wrapped their hand around your mouth, cutting off your terrified scream. Before you had the chance to blink, paper fluttered in front of your eyes, masking your vision.
All that was left in your place were a few, red paper rectangles, signaling a Yiga clan member had trespassed Gerudo walls: an invasion.
~
The sun had set almost two hours ago and the chain was starting to get on edge.
“They’re taking too long.”
“They should’ve been here by now. Where are they?”
The younger members were starting to pick up on both of your absences, thoughts already assuming the worst. Wild was capable of handling his safety, but you? As much as they liked to think you’ve gotten experience and plenty of training from each of them, you could have been harassed, cornered, kidnapped, killed-
Everyone snapped their heads to the sound of violent panting, already knowing its Wild.
Wars ran up to him, gripping his arm to support Wild.
“Where is she, Wild. She should’ve been with you-”
“-They took her.”

A message to each of the Champions, Sages, and to Princess Zelda
Mipha: I would've said yes to your proposal. I remember crying almost every night alone after I regained my memories of you. I loved listening to your voice.
Urbosa: Thank you so much for encouraging me to transition. You saw right through me and knew that I was ignoring my gender identity and problems because all of Hyrule was watching my and Zelda's every step.
Revali: I wish we were friends. I'm sorry that you weren't the chosen hero. I know that's what you wanted to be. I'm unsure as to why and I wish that I could know.
Daruk: Don't be sorry for having died. You are not a failure just because you died fighting Fireblight. We hadn't known that Ganon would do something like that.
Teba: I know technically you aren't a Champion or Sage, but you get the same treatment to me, so: thank you for battling with me and letting me be the cool aunt to your son.
Tulin: You were so energetic and by Hylia, that energy was contagious. You got me so hyped up for everything. Though, if I could, I'd go give your ancestor a piece of my mind by having him answer why he expected a 14 year old to fight in a war that even he couldn't stop.
Yunobo: I'm really glad that I was able to give you courage and confidence. I prayed to Farore every day after securing Vah Rudania that seeing your Grandfather's ghost gave you courage. (Only found out in this life playing AoC's DLC that it was me who gave you courage.)
Sidon: My brother-in-law, I love you. You were so overly kind and I remember just how devastated you were that saving Mipha in AoC's timeline didn't transfer over to our timeline. I know that you kept that a secret from King Dorephan and Muzu. It was a hard secret, but I'm glad you found peace to it.
Riju: You were an excellent chief. I'm glad you kept your great grandmother's promise to allow vai who were born voe into the town, even though throughout the 4 generations there were those who opposed it.
Mineru: I'm sorry that you went dormant for tens of thousands of years just waiting for the day that I'd pick up the Purah Pad. I'm not sure if you were conscious, but if you were, I'm sorry it was so lonely.
Zelda: I am so sorry for everything you went through. Having to sacrifice yourself to Hyrule three times: your childhood, your life, and then your humanity... I'm so sorry. I'm glad I got to be your girlfriend, though. I don't remember much after TotK's end, but I hope we rebuilt Hyrule together.

i have to ask, whats your opinion on the champions’ avatars & abilities?
(personally i like them a lot less than in botw and the avatars are straight up annoying, i always activate them on accident while trying to catch a bug or something so i just disable them altogether)
so far i only have tulin and riju's avatars (i keep putting off going to the other two races. sorry everyone, there are pics in need of snapping!)
i use tulin's tornado (not sure if it has an official name other than "vow of tulin", so i'm using the name tulin came up with in AOC) all the time to speed up my paragliding, so it's useful. i just wish it had more power to it, or lasted just a bit longer. when i gathered four wills of sages i expected them to upgrade this ability, but instead it made his headshots deal more damage. which i guess... is useful as well. his shots are SUPER effective. thank you tulin, very cool
(speaking of the sages' wills... why are they just scattered in random places throughout the sky islands? simply being kept in chests in the most unnassuming of places? there should've been some kind of trials at least... but with how boring most of the puzzles in this game have been, maybe not)
it's been a while since i've played botw (tho i have been replaying it bit by bit as of recent), let alone used the champions' abilities. but i do remember using revali's gale as often as i do tulin's tornado. i definitely miss it at times. while there are many creative ways to get yourself to a higher level (first being link's new ability, ascend; then using the ancient zonai devices; being sent into the sky by the skyview towers and gliding yourself towards your destination; or something as simple as starting a fire and throwing in a pine cone to create a bootleg revali's gale), there are times in which revali's gale would've been much quicker and effective
i think riju's power (hmm what should it be called... riju's rage?) is on par with urbosa's fury, but still not quite on her level. the field of lightning in urbosa's fury deals damage to everyone within that circle, while riju's only deals damage wherever you choose to shoot an arrow. it can also be kinda annoying waiting for the field of lightning to reach the monsters i want to zap, especially since riju LOVES to run the other way most of the time, but other than that it's great. i haven't upgraded it yet, so i hope it gets more powerful with the sages' wills, and not her scimitar attacks dealing more damage...
my main issue that i believe will become even worse as more sages join our team, is the fact that you activate their abilities with the A button, the action button, the one used to examine something, or pick up something, or talk to someone, etc... everytime i want to pick up materials left by monsters, tulin, that little shit, blows it all away down a cliff! compare that to the champions' powers, which each have their own buttons (except for mipha's grace): daruk's protection activates by holding down ZL, the button also used to focus/pull out your shield; urbosa's fury - by holding down Y, which is the attack button; and revali's gale - holding down the X button, also used for jumping. very thoughtful placements as you can see!
last thing. about the avatars... i understand that the sages are too busy to follow link themselves, especially riju, what with ber being a chief with so many responsibilities, which is why they've created these avatars to replace them. but i just wish they were a bit more emotive... idk. this isn't that serious lol but it would've been fun for them to act a little more real i guess, more like companions. i still love these soulless versions of my friends though <3

Interview — Yogesh Dutt Tiwari, RSWM Melange Yarn Business
Tumblr media
RSWM Limited, one of the flagship company under the LNJ Bhilwara Group, is a prominent player in India’s textile industry, specializing in the manufacturing and export of synthetic, cotton, and blended spun yarn. RSWM-led by Riju Jhunjhunwala, chairman and managing director, the company boasts 12 manufacturing plants equipped with 6.25 lakh spindles, 172 looms, and 95 circular and flat knitting machines.
With an annual production capacity of 1,21,000 metric tonne (MT) Greige Yarn, 24,000 MT Melange yarn, 32,000 MT Dyed yarn, 32 M Meters Denim Fabric, 9000+ MT Knits Fabric, and 43,000 MT Green Fibre, RSWM caters to markets in over 70 countries.
Textiles South Asia caught up with Yogesh Tiwari, Business Head and Chief Executive, Melange Yarn Business of RSWM Limited, at Yarnex 2024, New Delhi, to discuss the company’s offerings and future plans.
Yarnex, a key platform in India for discovering the latest in fibres and yarns, brought together manufacturers and suppliers from major textile hubs like Ludhiana, Mumbai, and Tirupur. Held last month in Delhi, the heart of India, the event attracted both local and international participants, drawing a footfall of around 15,000 people and offering opportunities to explore trends and connect with industry leaders.
Sadhna Mishra, correspondent of Textiles South Asia: Could you elaborate on RSWM’s core business and its distinct offerings?
Yogesh Dutt Tiwari: RSWM is primarily recognized for its textile products, particularly synthetics. However, our melange yarn business, which commenced in 1993, has been a significant focus for the past 25 years. Apart from yarn, we also specialize in knitting and denim, with the latter being a separate vertical. The textile segment alone contributes to a turnover of Rs 6000 crores, while the overall company turnover exceeds Rs 10,000 crores.
Textiles South Asia: What is the theme of your new collection, and what inspired it?
Yogesh Dutt Tiwari: Our Yarn-X collection is centered around autumn/winter 25/26 and features a color palette inspired by the global scenario, particularly the ongoing war. We’ve chosen colors that symbolize peace and harmony. The collection showcases various color combinations that convey a message of tranquility.
Textiles South Asia: Could you elaborate on Milan Yarn and its distinguishing features?
Yogesh Dutt Tiwari: Milan yarn is a high-value product that differs from traditional yarns in its unique blend of fibers and shades. Unlike conventional yarns that are dyed either as raw white or after fiber dyeing, Milan yarn involves a meticulous process of mixing shades and fibers to create distinct textures.
Textiles South Asia: Which fibers are currently in high demand for Milan yarn, and how is RSWM addressing this trend?
Yogesh Dutt Tiwari: Milan yarn is consistently in trend, with approximately 20% of demand attributed to this category. The key to Milan yarn lies in experimentation with fibers, shades, and effects. We focus on innovation to meet the evolving preferences of the market.
Textiles South Asia: What are the primary applications of Milan yarn, and which end-use sectors benefit the most from its properties?
Yogesh Dutt Tiwari: Milan yarn enjoys widespread acceptance across various sectors. It is particularly popular in hosiery, including circular knit and flat knit products. Additionally, it finds application in woven fabrics like shirting.
Textiles South Asia: Does RSWM employ specialized machinery for Milan yarn production, or does it utilize the same equipment as for other yarn types?
Yogesh Dutt Tiwari: While the basic machinery is similar to that used for synthetic and cotton yarns, the production process for Milan yarn is distinct. It involves multiple stages, including sliver creation, dyeing, and texture development, requiring a higher level of expertise and innovation.
Textiles South Asia: What are the primary challenges and benefits of manufacturing Milan yarn?
Yogesh Dutt Tiwari: The production of Milan yarn demands a high degree of innovation and agility to meet tight lead time requirements. However, the potential for creating unique and high-value products makes it a rewarding endeavor.
Textiles South Asia: How is RSWM incorporating sustainable practices into Milan yarn production?
Yogesh Dutt Tiwari: Sustainability is a core focus for RSWM, and we have implemented comprehensive measures across the value chain. Our commitment includes using recycled polyester fiber, organic cotton, and eco-friendly dyes and chemicals. We have also adopted water recycling and renewable energy sources to minimize our environmental impact.
Textiles South Asia: Does RSWM export Milan yarn, and if so, to which markets? What are the prevailing trends in the global yarn market?
Yogesh Dutt Tiwari: Approximately 40% of our Milan yarn production is exported to various global markets, primarily through buying houses catering to international brands. The ongoing war and its impact on freight costs and economic conditions pose significant challenges to the industry.
Textiles South Asia: How do you envision the future of the Milan yarn industry, and what strategies is RSWM adopting to shape this future?
Yogesh Dutt Tiwari: We believe that Milan yarn will continue to be in demand, and RSWM is well-positioned to capitalize on this trend. By expanding our Milan yarn production capacity and focusing on innovation, we aim to strengthen our position in the global market.

Champions x innocent!Reader (BOTW)
A/N: Hello, Ive been having a bit of a tough week so this is super self-indulgent.
Content warnings: Yandere Themes.
BOTW Yandere!Champions x Innocent!Reader
Link
Bruh, this man is so protective of you. This world is super fucked up. He knows it, but do you?
Keeps tabs on you. Like how he always manages to follow Zelda around? Yeah that.
You're his comfort person. He refuses to let you go.
He will pay for everything for you. Clothing, food, accommodations. You shouldn't strain yourself.
Will ask you to stay with someone he trusts like Sidon, Riju, or Impa. Will drag you there if you are defiant.
He cant keep you from seeing all the bad things going around because he is the hero after all, but goddamn does he try his best.
Does not like it when you see him all bloodied and beaten, so he will clean himself up all nice and proper for you.
Expects the same from you since he gets you all you need.
Urbosa
She is a well respected chief of Gerudo. People listen to her. She knows where you are all the time.
She doesn't want you to be jaded because of all thats happening around you.
Tries so hard to protect you from the outside world. So leaving the town? Only during the day with the best warriors, if she isn't able to do so herself.
At night, if you really insist on going outside the town, she will be with you 100 percent.
Will make sure you're well taken care of from the tip of your head to the bottom of your feet.
Gives you free access to a lot of the town accommodations but doesn't like it when you touch any weapons, or go into the tavern to get a drink. Alcohol is not good for the body and mind.
At night, she loves to have you close. It's when she can relax a bit more as chief, so she indulges herself in your presence.
Mipha
She is so sweet, it's hard not to say yes to this lady. She also has a really good read on you so don't try to lie to her or anything like that.
Will dress you up in all her finest clothing and jewels. She wants you to look presentable, since you are her significant other.
She does your hair all the time. Zoras don't have hair so she is so invested in yours.
Always takes baths with you. It's such an intimate and vulnerable time, she uses this time to know you even better.
You cant tell me she doesn't think about having a domestic life you. Can't change my mind. She loves waking up next to you, drinking tea in the morning together, having cute dates together.
She is such a romantic, it's almost too sweet.
She'll allow you out of the domain, but if you so much as touch a body water when she's not around, she will be so upset. She's scared that you'll drown without her.
Revali
If you are not in this birds wings, you are in the village.
Your personal guard. The rito in the village better know how to treat you right or they will face some serious consequences.
Believes you're the only one good enough for him, and vice versa. He makes this known too! Everyone knows about your relationship. I mean why not? if anyone hurts you, he's there, if they can even hurt you of course.
Ironically, Revali is one of the softest champions in this senario, despite his front. This is mostly behind closed doors though.
Will only allow you to walk to the base of Rito Village. To be fair, you do have full access and accommodations in the village.
In the rare moments that you're allowed to leave the village is when its a special event with him. Like an anniversary date.
Makes your shared house super cozy for you. You're so close to the cold climate, he wants you well taken care of there.
If you find anything that reminds you of him, give it to him and he will never let it go. If anyone touches the gifts you've given to him, the person will have lost some feathers, unfortunately.
Daruk
Strait up moves out of death mountain for you if he can, sort of. I mean he still needs to take care of his people.
If he can, he will get you all the fire-proof elixers he can get his hands on, on top of the fire-proof armour to hopefully allow you to stay by death mountain with him.
This man built you a fricken mountain house for you. The door is made out of rock so he can move it but you? good luck on that.
Hes not locking you in the house or anything but it helps him make sure you are where he left you.
No dogs allowed. Those things are too dangerous for your good.
Do you like gems? yeah you do! Here have 100 diamonds or something.
Has the whole town following you when possible.
nearly bone crushing hugs, cuz this man is something else when it comes to his strength
Understands that death mountain isn't for everyone, so if you do tell him that, he will move you to another city where he can easily meet up with you whenever possible.

What if... urbosa x aveil, that pirate lady from majoras mask. Could tweak her into being the head of trade if u don't want to keep the pirate thing., or make her a more heroic pirate like Tetra
Hmm.... I mean, maybe! It’s honestly a great suggestion; I still hadn’t fully figured out what I wanted to do with Riju’s second mama, but Aveil is a good pick O:
Now that you mention it though, I think it’d be hella rad if she was Hylian instead of Gerudo; she kinda looks like she’s short and if I do that I have the idea of makin’ her part of the clan of Hylians that work the Stables from BotW. At least I assume they’re an established clan since they all have the same design beats and similarities in appearance O: She could still have had time running as a pirate, became one of the top dogs, got tired of it, settled down with the CHIEF OF THE GERUDO. hmmm...
Definitely something to chew on! Thank you for the suggestion!! ;w;

Finished Hyrule warrior age of calamity...
And i loved it so much, but if my heart (read : biggest crush on zelda) is satisfied, my brain can’t help but think of a way to improve it (as always) so here are my thought under spoilers x) Feel free to ignore me, it is purely to play with scenario in my head !
First thing first : the base story ; while i do love the idea of time travel (it would be hypocrite of me to say otherwise as 80% of my fics plays with it) I do think it could be played on better in this story. For me the biggest flaw is that they don’t play on the “will they, won’t they?” that comes with time travel fix it, by stating immediately that Terrako (tiny eggrobot) comes from the future and is changing the future by its mere presence.
How to fix that -> This is probably the change that would take most of the work. First thing first, i would make the jump back in time further in the past ; enough for terrako to be seen as the “seer” that predicted the Calamity ganon’s return. Which happens i think (if i recall the lore right, when Zelda is around 7 years old, right after her mother’s passing). I think it would be interesting for 1 small prologue chapter to be about this. It will change the “twist” in the story endgame but the twist is, in my opinion, less important than the tension we couldget from the “will they/ won’t they” throughout the whole game.
In my mind it would go like this : we play King of Hyrule + Urbosa, background character Zelda’s mother and Hyrule’s chancelor (Astor but not you know, nt corrupted yet) as background characters not-playable (or maybe Zelda’s mother to show what it looks like to fight with the power?)/ probably having to protect them is the mission + maybe Link’s parents as PNJ solider battling alongside the characters and Cass’s master the Sheikah that sings balad in the Hyrule castle.
1rst battle (somewhere in hyrule) : The chapter starts with the reports of monsters becoming more and more frequent, and so the royal family investigates it. As it could be a sign of the calamity ganon returning (says the queen) the chancellor is doubtful : how many monsters is a sign? Do they have records about it? How can they know? Won’t they just put themselves in danger for nothing? Of course his prediction rings true and the monsters surround the place. They have to evacuate the town and organize strongholds around the town to protect it. (Introduction to Link's parents as hylian captains in charge) + King asking the Sheikah to go ask for reinforcement Zelda’s mother saying Urbosa is close. Then once the stronghold are in place, the purpose is to hold it until the time limit ends, when Urbosa arrives with her troops as reinforcement and they eliminate the monsters completely. Demo at the end of the battle shows the queen is looking around the place and finds terrako lying on the ground / in the ruins + the sheikah plate. The king and her decide to bring it to inspect it / offer it to her daughter as toys (to make the King of Hyrule a little bit more likeable through his relationship with his wife and daughter first in between battle), against the chancellor’s wishes.
2nd Battle (in the hyrule castle + castle town) : The Queen is teaching Zelda how to repair terrako with the help of the Sheikah chief (and maybe Purrah as kid and Impa?). Like in the story, Zelda repairs terrako and shows it to her mother, which says she is very proud of her. Terrako however runs away as soon as it can, and the battle is to catch it as it runs around the castle and causes havoc. Urbosa (who is here for a visit) has to catch it before the King of Hyrule notices it. Once the battle is over, the Sheikah can finally analyze the data within terrako. It brings the information that the calamity is indeed coming back.
3rd battle : The chancellor advises the king and queen to be careful, as sheikah technology had been buried deep for a reason (maybe bring up the lore of the Hyrule family betraying the sheikah and so the birth fo the Yiga clan). He says he believes in the common way to predict the future and asks to use a ritual to confirm the queen + terrak + sheikah’s prediction. He says it could be a trap from the Yiga clan. To prove him wrong, Urbosa goes spying the Yiga clan. (Idk what it could be, a mix of infiltration, kind of mission and battles? To capture a Yiga?) Anyways it’s Urbosa again with one Hyrule captain as a guest. In the meantime we are on another battlefield, where the king assists the chancellor in his ritual in the time temple on the great plateau. He has to protect him until the end of the ritual? (With the other hylian captain) At the end of the battle, baby!Zelda is lead to the battlefield because of terrako, when he reaches the temple of time some corruption seeks in during the ritual, while the chancellor gives of the prophecy that beasts are buried beneath the ground and that could help fight the calamity. It is unclear what caused an explosion : terrako’s presence or the corruption, or the ritual, or maybe even a yiga? Anyways something happens the queen protects Zelda and the king with her power. We skip places : Urbosa gets the news that the Queen and the chancellor has been killed.
End of the prologue chapter with a funeral demo. Adding Zelda acting dignified through the funeral. Someone in the crowd says it is sad, as the princess is young, and will probably not remember her mother at all. (To justify Zelda forgetting Terrako) Maybe a scene with young Link (with baby mipha here near to show they’re friend, among the zora delegation) being told by his remaining parents that he has to protect the hyrule family like the parents that were as a temple (and implied that died too) did.
Another addition i would put in the game is the possibility to go on inside the map without enemies in between battles (to look for korogu but not chest) ; and be able to purchase things here once the markets are opened/unlocked. It would allow people like me who like to see the landscape / comparison between breath of the wild and age of calamity to be satisfied. Of course it is optional you can go inside the map or purchase directly on the menu like you do today.
Let’s go back to the game.
So now after we go through the first chapter that is not changed one bit, Terrako appears like usual. The only difference is that during the first half of the battle, there’s a discussion between the King and an unknown soldier who says an old storage of the queen’s has been touched by the canon’s fire by accident (or maybe make a monster reaches the canon and adds a art where Link has to defend the canon from a monster waves). The soldier also says the magistrate impa went to check on the damage done and retrieve what can be salvaged (which explains Impa’s presence and her holding the sheikah plate) Which explains why terrako is lying on the ground later. You have access to missions in the hyrule castle.
Another change i would do for missions : some of them lead to small demos as a reward that deepens the information you get on the characters. Each character has at least ONE serie of missions that leads to demos. Also, there’s two series of missions that leads to the retelling of breath of the wild + ballad of the champion dlc demos. I mean it it’s very important. Once you complete these missions you get to see again the memories you had in those two games, with almost no difference (except some alteration you can notice oly when your rewatch it, like not wearing the champion tunic yet / not carrying the master sword yet, or terrako being behind from afar, providing the outside pov we had in there (like seeing Link and Zelda’s backs). Also some mission are accessible within a certain time range. (and it’s showed on the map, terrako icon is up and saying until which chapter you have to complete).
Anyways the first missions you get are :
(Epona serie) The king of Hyrule requesting says Zelda’s new horse is ready and to retrieve it to Malon’s ranch. >Later> Leads to Zelda having trouble with her horse and Link giving her advices (maybe leads to special mission where you are on horses’ backs, only being able to use Link and Zelda on horse’s back and later Revali, flying, and Riju with mme Patricia) >later> Leads to the demo of BOTW where zelda explains she will go pray to the wisdom source.
Other missions you could get :
(Link’s past serie) Adding a new quest for Link and his remaining parents to show the pressure he is under too.
(Zelda’s training) Adding new quest showing Zelda praying/meditating to show she tries. It makes Zelda prays in the temple of time, or other divine places (like the one in BOTW where there’s a giant goddess statue, or to ancient gods like Naryu..ect...), it ends at localizing the spring of strength.
(Romance serie optional) Adding a serie where the player can choose who Links ends up with. (Link has choices between Zelda, Mipha, Sidon) ; (Zelda can end up with Link or Impa -yes i’m sorry not urbosa, since urbosa knew her mom i think it’s for the best ><).
I have no idea for the champions, but you’re welcome to add/imagine one serie for them. Here are some other missions that could be added :
(Astor) -> This serie of missions is used to learn that astor = chancellor that has disappeared in the ritual on the great plateau. He was saved by the calamity ganon’s corruption.
(Sheikah’s ballad) -> This serie of missions is about Kass’s master and his unrequired crush on Zelda / hatred toward Link. You would have missions like  helping him find inspiration for his songs, or protecting him while he travels with you.
Other details/alteration :
-OUTFITS are easier to get throughout the story and every character gets one. You cannot play the character in the zone until you get the right outfit for them and wear it (winter clothes for Zelda/Link/Impa in the Rito for example). That way people can customize their characters earlier. (For example Revali and Mipha need a special outfit in the field with lightning?)
-Also in the gerudo town map, only female characters can enters the town, you’re automatically switched off the male characters if you do venture in.
SO THIS CHANGE : the first half of the game is longer and makes sure the player wonders if the future of breath of the wild is going to happen still like it did.
For that here is the order of the previous games memories put in order (and modification added) :
1)Memory of Zelda snapping at Link for following her by king’s order. (Change is Link does not carry the master sword and is in his knight’s outfit).
2) Memory of Urbosa being requested to help through by Zelda/ King of Hyrule at the end of her recruitement chapter + scene at the end of it.
3) Memory of Darruk talking to Link at the end of his recruitment chapter (changes are Link does not carry the master sword and is in his knight’s outfit)
→ After Darruk’s recruitment there’s a quest that leads to Zelda’s discussion with Darruk featuring in the champion’s ballad.
4) Memory of Zelda’s meeting with Revali at the end of the chapter of his recruitment (needs ; everyone’s snow outfit, zelda’s horse quest completed - no change)
5) MIpha’s memory with Link happens after her recruitement.
6) Mipha’s conversation with Zelda in the champion ballad is held after her recruitement battle and Link’s awakening of the master sword. (no change) after a mission.
7) After Link gets the master sword, there’s a serie missions where zelda needs the ingredients to make the champion’s outfit. (You need to unlock the ability to dye armors too, and the blue color). it leads to two memories : the informal ceremony requested by darruk in BOTW, and the Ballad of champion demo where you are intronized by the king and later have a picture taken of the group. (Only alteration is that line where they say they have yet to unlock the other abilities of the sheikah plate, and you can see terrako looking at Impa taking the picture).
8) Revali’s memory with Link (botw) happens once Link has the master sword too.
9) The memory where Zelda asks if links hears the master’s sword voice happens in a serie where you improved the divine beasts + after a first mission with darruk driving his divine beast.
10) I suppose the memory with Yiga pursuing Zelda can happens during the chapter we fight Yiga / infiltrates them.
11) Same with Zelda’s sleeping next to urbosa. It happens once you’ve improved the divine beast + did the first operation with Urbosa using her divine beast.
12) The silent princess memory is here with a serie of mission dedicated to save it, like there is in the game already and the frog mission. You also have to complete all the previous memories stated before this one.
13) The Zelda’s training mission serie leads to localize the strength source and ends up with the memory where Zelda prays there.
14) The memory of Link and Zelda having a heart to heart under the rain happens during Link’s personal serie of mission.
15) The memory of Zelda helping Link after a hard battle on death mountains happens once you completed the serie of extreme fire missions that is already in the game.
16) The memory of Zelda having a fight with her father happens after the spring of courage disastrous mission and a series of missions that started after the 2nd battle of chapter 1 (where you fist fight a guardian) that had the goal to be able to use guardians. Once you have this memory you cannot do the mission about sheikah technology for a while.
Finally the last memory you have in this first half of the game is the one with the horse riding, right before the chapter where calamity ganon awakes. Where Zelda says she will go to the spring of wisdom tomorrow for her birthday. It is the end of the serie mission about epona and her white horse. (no alteration except terrako being seen at the end and maybe a skip to evil!terrako so we know why Calamity ganon is awakened sooner, because Astor saw this through him and so acted upon it)
Now that the first half is done, the game can continue like it had, with going full canon!divergence and the game is almost the same as it. The only changes i would do are :
-Adding a serie of missions WAY BEFORE (like in the first half of the story) where they find the shrine of resurrection, maybe even a battle mission on it before where someone is injured and you have to carry them there to test it.
-Altering Zelda and the King’s reconciliation :
1)When the castle is attacked, and the King is left behind : adds Link’s remaining parent by the king’s side and telling him to protect the princess at all cost to add a bit of emotion to Link too.
2)Then making the runs outside the castle another battle mission leading to the memory where Zelda breaks down in Link’s arm like in BOTW but ends up with Impa and terrako finding them, out of the forest and the scene we had where terrako sing the song to Zelda (+ seeing Revali’s divine beast in the sky) at the end.
3) Akkala’s fortress retaking takes place in the same way as before, once you rescued all the champions. But the reunion with the king happens right before the Hateno fort battle. He has been brought wounded there and you meet him mid battle while protecting the place. So the scene where the kind is already proud of his daughter BEFORE she gets her sealing power. The flash back scene happens here explaining he got saved by the metal part + adds a little bit of him saying he was afraid he would lose her to the sheikah technology the same way he lost her mother/ the chancellor...He is surprised by her leading the troop so well and retaking Akkala. Also it’s not sure he will survive yet it is said, and when she asks about Link’s parents he says they got separated and doesnt’ know if they made it. So the scene where Zelda panicks when Link is about to die and thinks of her father (and maybe adding Link’s parents) still happens. She unlocks her sealing power.
4) After the Hateno battle a little bit more is expanded by Yiga’s chief recruitment, and we can see the king is better but sees his daughter leading the battle proud. The great plateau battle happens, and instead of a reveal of the king being okay, he saves zelda from an attack at the end of the great plateau (and same scene, with him saying he is proud of her).
Here it is a satisfying reconciliation for me. The one we got suffers from the crappy redemptions arc tropes we always have “yeah now i’m okay since you got exactly where i wanted you to be and so i have little to change about my mindset” so nope. Nope. Big nope.
The rest i would change almost nothing, to the rest of the game. (Except maybe as i said missions quests where you learn more about Astor / About Kass’s old sheikah mentor who had a crush on Zelda / and a little bit about every character’s past, but that’s optional). The explanation for Zelda forgetting Terrako is the same as she doesn’t remember being called little bird or her mother’s face in te memories we have of her, as stated in the funeral scene.
And i’m done with “what i would improve in the age of calamity game” thanks for reading xD See you for the next game !

Vaati isn't gerudo and he has never worked for Ganon. Vaati has always been an independent villain.
Very true. My post was based on the physical appearance of the Mystery Person, I didn’t however speculate a narrative reason behind who Mystery Person X would be.
So to respond properly, let us ask ourselves...how do we know that Person X is a Gerudo?
1.The best evidence for this would be the Gerudo symbol on their cape (?). However I would go so far as to say that if this were indeed a Gerudo, are we to believe that the only symbol of their heritage would be obscured from the front? Recall I said that Person X is wearing two types of articles. The first appearing to be a dark purple robe while the second is a (lighter colored) purple that is has the Gerudo Symbol. If this were a Gerudo, why wouldn’t the Gerudo Symbol be on the robe? The purple cape appears to be something worn over the dark purple robe...not as an attached piece.
2. It would seem strange for a Gerudo to have such ashy looking skin. There has never been a time in Zelda history that a Gerudo has been so ashy looking. They are more tanned than fair as a race. Even in BOTW, you will have more brown-skinned Gerudo than fair-skinned Gerudo.
3. I would like to point to the head adornment on Person X. It is gold with a large red center piece. Looking throughout Gerudo depictions across the series, the only Gerudo I can recall having a golden head adornment with a jewel in the center are; Ganondorf, Nabooru, TwinRova, Urbosa, and Riju. Notice that all of these Gerudo were Gerudo who have high status in the Gerudo tribe. In fact it is very common that Royalty or people of high status will have head ornaments with a jewel in the center in the Zelda series. If this person is supposed to be a Gerudo, then it would have to be someone of high status ie a chief.
However that seems improbable because nothing in BOTW or Creating a Champion speak of a former Gerudo (let alone chief) going rouge.
So now that I have laid out my concerned over this being a Gerudo (which they very well could be), I will address Vaati.
1. Very Correct that Vaait has always worked independently as a villain. However, do recall that Ganondorf tricked Link in Four Swords Adventures to free Vaati by pulling out the Four Sword (which aided in keeping Vaati at bay). I assume that Ganondorf planned on Vaati being a “distraction” so Ganondorf can do his own thing. When you approach Ganondorf after defeating Vaati he complained that Vaati was useless because with all of the Light Force he (Vaati) acquired...it wasn’t enough to hold off Link. So one could argue Vaati did “work for” Ganondorf.
2. While Vaati and Ganondorf didn’t have partnerships like we saw with Zant-Ganondorf, it is not like the Yuga-Ganondorf “partnership” in which the later was used by the former unwillingly. We can say at best that they did know eachother in Four Swords Adventures event.
But thank you for your response.

“Listen to my story.
This... may be our last chance.”
Let me tell you a story. One that has been worked on for over a year. It’s rather long, so I put it under the cut.
So this drawing, as well as others like it, stems from a roleplay I’ve been doing with @juan-o-clocks (wow, what a surprise!). “Familiar Faces, Different People”, we called it. And it takes aspects of our favorite games and shows, and mixes them with original concepts and characters: A Link Between Worlds, Phantom Hourglass, Breath of the Wild, Twilight Princess, Spirit Tracks, and even some non-Zelda games/shows, like Kingdom Hearts, Fullmetal Alchemist, Avatar: The Last Airbender, and Final Fantasy X.
The story begins with another rift found far from Hyrule... Found in a temple of a goddess who has no connection to Hyrule at all, and it’s been a LONG time after the events of A Link Between Worlds... And one day, two boys go to investigate this rift, searching for something else...
After disturbing the rift, which is already unstable due to the magic of the temple, it “activates”. As a result, one of the boys, Seph, gets forcibly transported to a new realm... One that we’ve nicknamed “The Mirror Realm”.
Eventually, he meets new, yet familiar faces (Izulda and Angelo), and is taken to Lorule, in an attempt to flee from the.. rather hungry goddess the two had managed to piss off prior.
The plan? Go to Haiko Village (aka, the Mirror to Hateno Village... For those Flipnote Hatena/Hatena Haiku users, you might see the pun. XD) and meet up with an old friend of Angelo’s...
However, on the train ride there (the Sheikah Towers are more akin to something like the Tower of Spirits from Spirit Tracks ;) ), they encounter her again: Gelum, the bloodthirsty goddess. Except this time... She too was heading to Haiko, from Moonlight Town (aka, Thieves’ Town) to meet up with her sister, Tempys... The old friend of Angelo’s. Train then gets attacked by bulbins, they’re fought off, and they arrive at Haiko Tower at nighttime, the train having to stop for repairs.
This is where things go wrong. From the Tower, a very visible, wall of light can be seen, and it has enveloped the village! So they map out a plan... Head to the Swamp to find an adept in dark magic, and see if that will break the wall.
Halfway to the Swamp, they take a pitstop at Lorule Castle Town, to restock on supplies and afterwards, they’d be off... Well, if it weren’t for the fact that their method of transport, a rather odd boat, has been sabotaged! By none other than a Sheikah who works for the Royal Family... Salibra (aka, Mirror!Purah). So once apprehended, the party takes Salibra to interrogate her, and she mentions that they had sensed Gelum, who is a sun goddess, nearby Haiko when the wall came up, and that there were more walls appearing around Lorule. So, the party was thought to be the reason for these walls appearing, and were to be detained, but the 4 managed to escape, taking Salibra with them...
And so, they arrive at the Swamp. A dark, dense, swampy forest. Perfect for the Gerudo that reside there (@juan-o-clocks‘s concept of them was a mix of the Swamp Tribe from AtLA and the Briggs soldiers from FMA:B). However, with some charm, it was easy to get into Gerudo Town without a fight. That’s where they meet the dark magic user they needed: Punya (Mirror!Riju), daughter of the chief. They let her go with the party, but in return, they must do two things: Give Punya the experience she needs, and to rescue their allies in the north after Haiko.
The party eventually returns to Haiko, and breaks through the wall to see how to destroy it fully. They’re in for a surprise though: the party has been split, as now, Angelo, Izulda, Salibra, and Punya have become these dark-colored, flame-like spirits, while to those 4, Gelum and Seph have become completely invisible!
The two parties end up going their separate ways, the Invisi-crew going to seek out Tempys, and the Spirit Squad investigating the town. The Spirit Squad gets called to the nearby spring by a mysterious voice, and upon checking it out, they’re told the full story:
A “false deity” had broken the Guardian of this region, AʟᎅʀᎀɎᎀʀ, apart. Tempys had tried to gather the pieces, but was inevitably defeated by this “false deity”, and possessed. All that was left was one more piece... But the “false deity” has it. The only way to get it? Distract the Possessed!Tempys with a battle against her sister, and nab it off of her when she’s not paying attention, with the signs of battle being the way to find where they are.
Meanwhile, the “false deity” hunts down the Invisi-Crew, and engages in battle with them. It is then revealed what their motives are: Release Lorule’s demon, and return to Hyrule for revenge. It’s none other than @juan-o-clocks‘s Negative Light, a foe who was seemingly killed over 5 years ago. So the three fight, and nearly results in Seph’s and Gelum’s defeat... Until suddenly, the wall is broken. The Negative Light weakens. The rest of the allies join, and the battle turns around for the better. Tempys is freed.
After some rest, the party goes off again to free the next region...
However, that all is yet to come... But, if you’d like, you can ask me more about this Lorule that’s been crafted by me and by boyfriend! I’d love to ramble more about this story. :3

Riju......I don't even know why I see a 'K' there
I gotcha Riju x Link right here.
After the defeat of Calamity Ganon, Riju invited Zelda to stay a couple of nights in Gerudo Town. Even 100 years later, people still whispered about the Princess having feelings for the Hylian Champion. So Riju made her intentions clear. She straight up told Zelda her feelings for Link and of her intent to court him, ending with a challenge. “From one sovereign to another, let the best woman win.” Lucky, Riju has the teachings of Miss Ashai to aid her in her conquest.
The relationship between Riju and Link actually was the cause behind a bit of a revolution for the Gerudo people. A few years into their relationship, word got around that Link was regularly sneaking into the town disguised as a Vai. Once word got out protests spread through the streets as the angry Gerudo demanded that their husbands be allowed within the city walls as well. Over Buliara’s objections, Riju listened to her people and opened the town to Voe on the condition that they were wed to a Gerudo. Of course, this meant that she and Link had to actually tie the knot.
The marriage was held at the statues of the Seven Heroines and was open to any who wanted to attend. Notable attendees included Impa, Purrah, Teba, Yunobo and Sidon. Zelda did attend the ceremony but declined to stick around for the reception. Some time later Riju would send her a letter expressing remorse that her happiness had to come at Zelda’s grief as well as a hope that they could still perhaps become friends.
A year after the wedding, Riju gave birth to her and Link’s first daughter. She had the usual red hair and brown skin of a Gerudo but her eyes were the same deep blue as Link’s. During the pregnancy they had drawn straws to see who would name the child and Link won, naming his newborn daughter Marin (a name he claimed came to him in a dream).
Five years later Riju delivered twins, bringing the family up to five. Insisting that she be allowed to name them this time (”You had your turn, dummy!”), she gave the twins the traditional Gerudo names of Koume and Kotake.
Marin would grow up to succeed her mother as Chief while Koume and Kotake act as economic and political advisers.

Sidon x OC Anariel
I made a drabble based on the story I’m working on between them, and it’s somewhat suggestive but I’m not going to mark it as nsfw and instead just give you guys a fair warning. I hope you guys enjoy!
Rated: T
Words: 538
He had to admit to himself that Anariel did in fact look stunning in the outfit provided by Chief Riju. What the prince was not about to admit however was his jealousy as the Rito warrior had so casually pulled her to him to make the dance for two.
Anariel and Tali circled each other to the music, the hylian woman’s smile bright in midst of the desert night. The rhythm of the music picked up pace, and the two followed suit. Tali mirrored Anariel’s steps and hand gestures. The audience would remark positively, even more so when the dance became more erratic, and just as intimate. Tali reached for her hip, dipping her body downwards. Anariel’s world was upside down for just a moment, and she saw Sidon as he matched it. She beamed at him. The Rito warrior pulled her back.
Sweat beaded on her forehead, neck and back, but she kept going knowing that her lover was watching, and the knight was determined to not disappoint him. Once again they circled each other. Both looked at each other as if with determined longing, matching the rather lusting tone of the dance. The Gerudo women giggled amongst themselves at how much closer the Rito and the hylian were to each other. Chief Riju smirked noticing the Zora prince’s claws digging into his seat.
ïżœïżœïżœIt’s an old Gerudo tale of a warrior woman who falls for a man outside of her kind,” she explained as Sidon looked at her with slight confusion and surprise, “The story goes is that she can not love him for he is not one of the Gerudo, so for all of her life she longs for him and has secret meetings with the man. It’s more of a dance for desire, you could say.” Riju shrugged casually, much to the dismay of the prince.
His reaction made her sigh. “I would not worry about your mate, Prince Sidon, for she is not one who takes her relationships for granted,” Riju waved her hand dismissively, as if to shoo away his unconscious suspicions. “What you should be more concerned about, however,” she lowered her voice, a grin forming on her face, “is just how exactly you should make aware that she is in fact yours, and yours alone. And how he,” Riju gestured to the Rito,”should understand that fact.”
As the chief chuckled quietly amongst herself and turned back to the dance, Sidon glanced at Anariel. It was the smile that reached her eyes, when they dipped again, that bubbled a feral desire within him.
Tali looked over at the Zora prince. He smirked. Sidon almost growled.
Mine.
He watched the end of the performance, his lover in the arms of another man as the female audience applauded. Beads of sweat rolled down the arch of her back and torso, slipping into her curves and under the pants that rode so low on her hips. The prince refrained from growling again.
Anariel pulled out of Tali’s arms and turned her head to Sidon. Their eyes met.
Mine.
The hylian gave him an innocent but questionable look, and no doubt about to approach him and ask what’s wrong.
You’re mine. And mine alone.

✧ ☀ â˜Ș✧          The rapid-fire and almost conditioned answer reminded Nabooru of the young chief’s age. She apparently expected Nabooru to scold her for staying up past her bedtime. But, Nabooru had no intention of such a thing. For starters, it was not her place to play mother or guardian to Riju. Plus, she remember her own sleepless nights, especially after becoming Gerudo leader. And she was an adult at that point. She could only imagine the stress it brought someone as young as the current chief.
She crossed the room and lowered herself onto the edge of her bed at Riju’s side. “Hmm...well I can’t really blame you. Leading people isn’t the easiest thing in the world.” She offered the younger Gerudo a gentle, reassuring smile. “I didn’t get much sleep myself when I took over.”
Honestly, she hardly remembered a time then when she got a good night’s sleep. Between worry and nightmares, rest often escaped her. But, she wouldn’t mention that now.
“I found that it helped to talk about it. And, since we both seem to be failing to sleep, I’m more than happy to listen.” Nabooru nodded toward the diary resting in her lap. “Unless you’d rather continue writing in there. Whatever works best for you.”

now for my more spoilery, discuss-all-the-things-in-detail BOTW finishing post
spoilers ahoy mateys
the final boss was pretty easy. actually, scratch that, almost all of the bosses were easy. i have more trouble defeating fucking lynels and getting dragon horn shards than i did defeating Ganon. (toooo be fair, if you don’t do the divine beast quests i’ve heard the ganon fight is a LOT worse, but even so.) i also had the ancient arrows by the time i did my first divine beast, so i’m sure that was a large part of the ease i had.
as a result the main challenges in the game came to me through Trying to Upgrade My Damned Equipment and Shrine Puzzling. i really appreciated the variety and just.... fun that the shrines were.
though, Fuck Eventide Island. first time i went i was super underleveled, landed on the weapon-poor part of the island, died. second time i went i was way overlevelled and landed right near the goddamn 26 atk soldier’s sword. the first time i’d gotten to the island, the 3 atk goddamn axe was my most prized weapon.
goddamn axe! ugh. after fucking rafting my way there? augh.
also, why am I hearing nothing about Yunobo? soft boyfriendo. good buddy. i sincerely don’t like how people prefer sidon/kass to yunobo. a.) kass is married with kids and it’s adorable don’t mess that up and b.) sidon is a good boyfriend too but i KNOW the goddamn reasons why people prefer sidon and i’d bet my horse that sizeism has a large part to play.
i’m glad trans gal link is a decently common headcanon. after finishing that story i realllllyy hope that we get good platonic link/zelda stuff. but knowing Fandom and Heteronormativity, my hopes are low.
anyway my fave outfit style by the end was gerudo voe headband w/ gerudo vai top and the barbarian booty shorts. i feel like it fit my Link p. well
zelda X urbosa and trans lesbian link x mipha are my ships pre- calamity. post-game, cis gay link X sidon, cis gay link X yunobo, cis/straight m!link x paya, zelda X paya, trans lesbian link X moza, and link w/ a couple other npcs i can’t recall the names of right at the moment. there are. a lot. of npcs in this game.
as far as post-game headcanons go.... i’m not actually super sure yet. clearly zelda and link are BFFs. zelda finds herself very lonely, perhaps even depression-levels so. it’s not Super Clear how she experienced time during the 100 year interlude, but no matter how that went, she’s coming back to a world where she is all but a legend and all but like, three of her ENTIRE SUPPORT NETWORK is Dead. because of her, too, because I can 100% guar-an-tee that that many years of internalized blame do not Fade Away so easily when you add survivor’s guilt into the mix. she takes it... better than she would have were she younger, but it’s still A Lot.
plus she ain’t rich anymore which is usually a culture shock on top of all the shit she been through. not like she can demand taxes on royal lineage alone
i think zelda becomes a mentor to chief riju. a listening ear, good to bounce ideas off of. her being not super tied into the whole gerudo town political mess makes riju trust zelda’s judgement a little bit more than she might someone who also knew riju’s mom.
actually, zelda becoming a sort of... tech diplomat or teacher doesn’t sound too far off the mark in the long run.
link helps zelda, of course. which is a balm on her own grief, if not a cure. gives her something to focus on in the immediate aftermath of The Battle. link really wants to make a life for herself, though, and makes an effort to spend time at her House in Hateno. (zelda moves in for the first couple of months, so that part’s easy.)  hateno serves as an interim HQ as zelda sets up the political pieces to start rebuilding Castle Town. brings the town business, and is conveniently located so as to be close to Kakariko and the various other hylian settlements. trips to the various village leaders are common, and really it’s only through link’s insistence that they spend much time in hateno at all. but link needs the downtime, after everything. and though it drives zelda a little mad sometimes, she needs it too.
for the most part, zelda pursues a reconstruction of Hyrule because she thinks it is what must be done. she continues to research on the side, becoming more of a historian than she used to be in the effort to reclaim & preserve the knowledge lost in the calamity.
link, for her part, finds herself adrift when not part of the Pair that she & zelda are. sure hyrule is dangerous still, and zelda needs protecting, but link fears (knows) that being a royal guard can’t be her endgame. the sheikah are good enough at it when not facing Ganon & company. and who needs a knight errant, anyway? she’s not really sure.
of course, this problem resolves itself naturally as link falls into the role of diplomat, without her or zelda really even ever having to think about it. zelda was always worse at that stuff anyway, her attentions having been split between prayer and research as she was growing up.
god i’m sure i’ll have more to add to this as i like. remember shit but that’s it for Vol. 1: Katherine Just Finished and how The Fuck is it 3 AM again?!
