I kinda hope this can become a trend of sorts, I'd love to see everyone's version of Frans related content to the audio, it'd be so cute. But it also took me a good few weeks, maybe a month, to make something this simple. I haven't kept track. Maybe one day in the future I can redraw this but better. I wanted to do a different pose, before settling on this because of all the different versions of each character and I wanted to try making it as easy to follow with your eyes as possible

UNDERTALE: Checkmate

This is basically a take on that old Chesstale AU from back in the early Undertale Youtube themes era Except it actually utilizes chess, but with a more interesting gameplay style You have 4 ACTIONS you can perform: > MOVE - you can select a piece to move it > WAIT - you can just skip your turn > TRICK - you can trick the other opponent into doing something at random, which is also the way you'd perform the "GENOCIDE" route, by cheating > QUIT - you can give up against the opponent, but it only works sometimes You'd also only start out with the King and a Pawn, getting more pieces the more you progress through areas and the story (However this does not apply to bosses, as you get all chess pieces there)

And if you're curious about the Sans fight... well...

Sans only has one Pawn, but it acts like a King and Queen at the same time You can't actually check it, you have to get rid of it from the board, KR also makes your time go by faster, and if you WAIT for a long time, Sans will start moving your pieces in a position he can get them himself, however you have Queens all over the board (BTW this was inspired by UNOTale and that one line from the UT Kickstarted about Toriel telling you that you should play chess instead)

I know you're current deep into the abyss team but like....... do you know who Chess (Sans?) is?????? I don't, I just heard the name Once and upon a google saw a cool looking skeleton. I know you're the not the foremost expert on every AU out there but since you seem to like ones you don't hear about so much? Thought you might know?

I tried looking, and I believe the creator of Chesstale is here. They were credited as the creator under a post. However, it seems from the posts that a lot of Chesstale had been deleted. The old creator could've changed accounts or something. I found this old amino page that I think had some info on it though. I tried to look up "mintysammy" which is who is often credited for chesstale but couldn't find anything.

From what I gathered from wikis, Chesstale is more like Outertale as it is more an aesthetic change rather than a personality-changing au. Each character represents or is associated with a particular chess piece, and sans is the pawn. The monsters and humans represent the different colors of the chess board: monsters black and humans white. Also, instead of fighting it seems you do chess games instead.

UWU Infection Never add a U to UW. This is a post barrier timeline where a UwU virus spreads terrorizing Ebott's Town. Frisk, as the monster's ambassador, will have a lot of work to do to ensure everyone's safety from the cute virus.

REDress Previously known as the "Amalgamate" timeline, now it was completely rewritten. The families of the amalgamates took revenge on Sans and Alphys, injecting them too with Determination, melting them into amalgams as well...

War Rewind Flowey and Sans mess with the resets, mistakenly send themselves back to the time of the war between humans and monsters. Flowey dies, but Sans, adopting baby Chara to save them from their fate, allows Asriel to survive in the future and become king. Now all humans who fall underground will be treated as friends. This timeline was fairly inspired by Timetale! And also by my chats with @ask-dcf :3

Hopeless Timeline Flowey grows bored, and decides to torture Sans with Save Files and Resets to see how far that would go. The story then starts to take interesting turns as I RP it. This timeline is somewhat important so here's the latest ref sheets: [Hopeless UW!Sans] [Hopeless UW!Frisk] [Hopeless UW!Dwerby] Here's a chrono link to read right from the start! But pls note this.

Underground's Insanity Previously known as the "Hopeless Queen Alphys Timeline" (the name was too long). The genocide (?) version of the Hopeless Timeline. It begins as a Queen Alphys ending, to then take a Horrortale-like turn, with some angsty Salphys who has to face Frisk, the strongest hunter wizard to ever exist.

Name: Prophecy

Nickname: Proph, Prophie.

Age: 134

Height: 5'1

Titles: The Weakest God, The Second Prophet.

Personality: Calm mind, gentle heart, flirty, he can be sarcastic and mean at times when his emotions are unstable.

A very skilled prophet but he can't really fight, he only can dodge unless the opponent fights too fast for him to keep up. (For example, Killer)

Neutral in most things like his view on killers and murderers, almost never picks sides in battles.

He always hides from the Star Sanses and Nightmare's Gang.

You have to make a deal with him if you seek his ability to see your future, as long as it benefits both sides.

In fights, he always stays in the background or on the sidelines, lets his brother take control of the situation.

Not anyone can get a hold of him, only through his brother can you get his contact.

Relationships:

Seer (Gaster): His father, positive relationship, Seer visits from time to time to check on him and Augury.

Augury (Papyrus): His twin brother, positive relationship, Augury acts like his bodyguard when the enemies or people with unknown, questionable motives want to fight him. They cherish each other deeply.

Chesstale Sans (Chess): His best friend, positive relationship, Prophecy sometimes comes to his AU to play chess with him, there are times when they will have a conversation about AUs and Multiverses, life and death, pacifist and genocide, creators,...almost all the things in the world.

Gaster Gang's bio

This Bio is gonna be a bit different due to the nature of the Gaster Gang.

"The Gaster Gang" is just the collective term for the 100 Gasters that survived The Noir's rampage on the multiverse and now assist and accompany Monochrome!Sans.

They keep tabs on him and monitor him to make sure The Noir doesn't break out.

Not that it would, but just to be safe.

However, only about 10-20 of the Gasters actually follow Mono and keep an eye on him at a time.

Most of them actually spend their time living their own lives in the Omega timeline. Making friends, helping out the scientific endeavors of the OT, and just generally vibing.

Also, an extremely important note. The Gasters don't technically have actual physical bodies. They're "bodies" are moreso just metaphysical representations of their existences, and thus take no physical space. So they can appear and disappear at will, similar to CORE!Frisk.

It also means that they can change their appearance to whatever they want.

Or, in other words.

However you draw Gaster is basically canon to the Gaster Gang. They can look like anything so any interpretation you have of Gaster's design is canon to the Gaster Gang.
