Let me introduce you to my friend @ameinababa2024 .

She is the wonderful mother of four children: Jude (12 years old), Habiba (10 years old),  Omar (six years old) and Maryam, who is only 1 year old. She lived most of her life during this terrible genocide.

Amina studied graphic design. Three months before the war, she finished her studies and started working. Her husband was also working as a driver.

And then the war came. They found themselves jobless. They were displaced, forced to live in a tent which has been floodeed by the first rain of the season. Winter is coming, and Amina's family urgently needs your help.

Her daughter Jude also needs treatement for her glandular problems, which she can't receive under these circumstances. And let's not forget that Maryam is a baby who needs milk and diapers.

* The Dressmaker from Hell is the splatterpunk book version of the original creepypasta (which honestly, you can see the splatterpunk author in me show in even though it's a cheesey 13+ slasher. The Dressmaker from Hell (splatterpunk) features the Hellcrew version of Julius, NOT the creepypasta version of Julius

** This book is for a splatterpunk and extreme horror and intended for an adult audience only.

*** About Julius

**** all child abuse in the book is either discussions of or flashbacks to Julius' and Killian's (and a few other's) childhood abuse; but it gets pretty graphic. However, no children are abused in the story's present timeline or even at the hands of the antagonists.

Kara gets roped into the RenFaire scene one summer as a face painter because a) she's an art major, and b) she's an art major who needs money. Her friend Nia has worked concessions there since she was old enough to get her workers permit, and swears to Kara that its a great place to work if she doesn't mind the occasional heat wave.

Which, to Nia's credit, is true. Except what Nia forgets to mention is that the resident RenFaire fiddler will make Kara feel like she's living in a permanent heat wave.

The fiddler's name is Lena, and she's gorgeous. Long raven locks and skin like ivory, wearing frocks of green leaves and shimmering wings, she looks like something out of a fairytale.

There's an invisible threshold between the summerbounders and those who have made the Faire their home, marked only by how naturally they fit in their medieval, fantastical roles. Summerbounders, like Kara, throw themselves into it with all the good-hearted cheesey pomp they can muster. The others, well-- they simply are their roles.

Lena is of the latter group. She was raised in the Faire, after all, spending her summers flitting between booths while her mother sold charms to enchanted patrons. But even when her mother passed, Lena didn't want for love. The Faire is her family too.

For her part, Lena immediately takes a shine to Kara, quickly noting her kindness towards children while she paints whimsical designs on cheeks and foreheads. But when Kara seems to clam up and shut down any time Lena comes anywhere close, Lena learns to keep a relative distance. Kara isn't about to approach Lena herself, so they fall into a pattern of mutual admiration from afar.

Until Nia asks Kara how she likes Lena (bc Nia lowkey shipped them when she suggested the job to Kara), and is surprised to learn they have yet to have a single meaningful conversation.

All right. That's it.

Nia invites Kara to a sleepover at the faire grounds overnight, for those who camp there-- among which is Lena. Surely, with the glitter wiped away and the lack of wings Kara will be less blinded and more... personable.

Except that after getting some mead in her system, Kara is even more entranced by Lena. How could she not be, with a speck of overlooked glitter on Lena's neck, glinting merrily in the firelight, and her long dark hair let loose around her shoulders.

But now, mellowed by said mead, Kara can't bring herself to look away when Lena catches her staring. Their eyes lock, and Lena's surprise soon gives way to a blush, then a smile as warm as the fire between them.

Lena doesn't play her fiddle this night-- everyone is pleasantly tired, and content to lounge on their logs and stumps. But someone does pull out a lyre, and Kara does notice that Lena softly sings along to the tune most everyone seems to know.

When Nia and another of the folks seated next to Kara rises to fetch a refill of their tankards, Kara blinks to find a new figure filling their empty seats.

"Hi," Lena greets, her voice low in her throat. The sound is heady, buzzing deep in Kara's core.

"Hey," Kara returns. Thankfully, the drink has smoothed her tongue, eliminating the stammer that previously caught in her throat had Lena approached her at the face painting station.

"You've been avoiding me," she's told.

Kara grimaces. "Kinda... I'm sorry."

"Well, so long as it's not because I smell bad...."

Though of course now Kara breathes in, and her lungs fill with the scent of woodsmoke and pine, and something floral. The floral, she surmises, is Lena.

To be sure, Kara leans in and inhales once again, this time with her nose just brushing the side of Lena's neck. The floral is in fact Lena. Kara notes the jumping pulse point in before her eyes and the catch in Lena's breath.

"Nope," she pulls back languidly, letting a goofy grin spread across her features. "You don't stink."

They're still perilously close, and Kara watches how Lena's gaze jumps from her eyes to her lips and back again. How has she missed this, Kara marvels at herself. To have missed Lena's interest in her is... a travesty.

Lena's head is turned towards her like the rest of the group has fallen away, and perhaps they have-- Kara takes little note of them.

"You're very smooth for someone who's been scared to be within ten feet of me."

"What can I say?" Kara shrugs. "I know to be wary of the fair folk."

"Fair or faire?" Lena teases.

Kara smirks. "I'm sure both are equally dangerous."

"Then you're doomed, considering I already have your name."

Suddenly Kara's brain shortcircuits as Lena leans in, eyes slipping shut as their lips come near enough to brush as Lena speaks.

"Kara."

(SPOILERS!!!!) Things i think ballad of songbirds and snakes did well and did poorly on (SPOILERS!!!)

Pros:

•i think they did a really great job with their visuals on panem. I think both the districts and the capitol are better translated on screen in this one than in the original three.

•i think the costume design is also better than the original three

•they do a great job at expressing Snow's intentions and thoughts without having the inner monolog as a story telling device. I wasnt sure how well that would translate but it was fantastic

•I like the few little nods they gave to the original movies, while cutting the super cheesey ones.

•the acting is superb. Genuinely no notes.

Cons:

• biggest complaint: holy fuck its rushed. Its so rushed. Most of my complaints are honestly just because its rushed

•so many characters cut out or half assed. Clemensia, SEJANUS, lil, spruce, pluribus, so many

•some pretty big plot points missed, WHY DIDNT THEY TALK MORE ABOUT THE GODDAMN BIRDS. Reaper!!! All the other tributes, the funerals! I understand to keep it pg13 they probably had to cut parading the bodies around but good god give us something! Ma!!!!!

•the entire third act shouldve been twice as long if not three times as long. Its not enough time to explain anything at all. Theyre just moving through each plot point as quickly as possible. No time to understand, no explaining, no suspense. Soooo rushed.

• they missed some pretty big, important quotes.

• maybe unpopular but I hate the ending. Both Lucy Grey's ending and the movie ending. For too many reasons to explain.

In conclusion, I think its beautiful cinematically and acting wise. I think all the actors, costume designers, CGI, art directors, etc did a fucking fabulous job. In those ways it's honestly 10/10. But plot wise, writing wise, I was disappointed. I feel like the plot points they half assed were worse than the ones they cut out entirely. If you didn't read the book I think some aspects will leave you confused or wondering why they were included at all, and if you read the book you'll leave frustrated. I honestly wish they wouldve cut more so they could focus, if they couldn't stick to the plot points they wanted. I think I would've been happier with a looser adaptation going in its own direction than being forced to half ass things that are otherwise impactful but left seeming hollow.

Bored so here are all of my solangelo head cannons:

• His favourite TV show is toh & arcane (he also LOVES gravity falls)

• Wears a gay pin everywhere and the first time a homophobic person yelled smth like "YOUR GOING TO HELL!" He got really triggered and scared by it but will stood up for him and punch the guy. After that will to comfort & help nico told him how to defend himself in situations like that. Every time afterwards he has a sick burn and slowly over time it stops bothering him and he feels even more confident about himself & his identity

• Nico as a gag gift bought the Sunshine care bear for will on his birthday before giving him a genuine heart warming gift, which was a note and vacation ticket to somewhere nice

• Will treats that care bear like his son

• Will is the number 1 dad EVER and apollo meets the coco puffs and at first didn't like them but slowly over time learns to loves them too

• When they inevitably get married, wills coin becomes nicos wedding ring and nicos ring gets an upgrade. On it incripted in the inside is "my sun, forever bright" and a small little vine design leading to a sun charm next to the skull. On nicos ring there's a star on it and inside it saids "my star, twinkle bright even when it's dark out"

• Nicos wedding outfit is so black, Goth & androgynous, on their way home someone misgenders nico as a women

• NICO HAS FRECKLES ON HIS NOSE WHILE WILL HAS FRECKLES IN HIS CHEEKS! AND WHEN HE GLOWS THEY LOOK LIKE STARS!!!

• Nico wears a lot of stars & space imagery post-tsats because I said so lol

• Post-tsats nico starts expiramenting with his gender. Starting out with eye-liner that will accsedently walked into, sending nico into an embarssed flustered mess but will just laughed and helped him out as best he can. When nico eventually told me about wanting to expirament with his gender presentation, will was more than supportive & helped him out quite a bit.

• Nico is a gay man, demiboy, and acesexual, sex repulsed

• Will is a bisexual, cisman and also ace because fuck it, why not

• They never have sex, like ever, even as adults. They didn't realise this wasn't the norm until percabeth told them and they were like "Wait what? What do you mean? Yes it is?" And then they were like "WHAT!? HUU!? EWW WHY???? NOOOO!!" Rapid google search later, realisation that there's a term for it

• They adopt a cat from a shelter and call him "evergreen" but will only uses the stupidest of nicknames for him

• Both autistic & adhd because I said so

• Nico & will both have the minecraft autism but nico love building a cottage core base & picking flowers, while will loves making redstone contraptions and speedrunning the game

• Nicos favourite youtubers are, jaidenanimations, grian, and Kurt's conner

• Nico gets a slight hyper fixation on anything & everything queer for about month and that's how he learns about everything with that stuff

• Had a favourite plushie that uses to comfort himself. He's embarrassed by it but will never teases him about it and is supportive of him

• Nico loves animated movies and is an mcu fan

• They have a vacation to Australia, because mobsters don't regenerate down there (because our flowera & fauna is already so dangerous that they don't bother.) They go to all the popular areas and such and they come to tassje and I meet them (GUYS ITS REAL! IM NOT DELULU I SWEAR!)

• Will is pretty sappy but nico is sappier

• All the people calling solangelo "cringe" & "cheesey" are only calling them that because it's two boys. If percabeth did the same things solangelo did people would be all over it and would never call them "cringe" or "cheesey"

• Will loves folk-ish & metal music while nico loves all the popular pop girlies & 80's music

• Nicos favourite character in mouthwashing is anya & becomes obsessed with her for about 3 months

• Will can't sing at all but nico has the voice of an angel (pun intended)

• Will can only draw stick figures and bad anime art while nico is amazing drawer

• Will is traditional artist and nico is digital artist

• Nico doesn't like stupid memes & brainrot and will loves to tease nico with them

• Attended a pride march at least once in NYC with all of their friends (percy, annabeth, Reyna, hazel, ect.) It's a core memory for nico because that was the day he truly felt proud of himself and stopped worrying about what people think. The day his internalised homophobia died. They all had a nice meal at a restaurant and the meal he eats there is what ambrosia tastes like for him after that day.

• It's also one of the first times he was so open with his love for will. He didn't hide anything, he was open and proud. Always holding his hand, always kissing him. It's also the day where he learnt that he wasn't alone, that he was never alone. He learnt percy & annabeth are bi, and that reynas aroace. Hazels still straight but amazing ally!

• Nico hates crying in front of people, but the only people he feels comfortable to cry infront of are will, hazel, and Jason. (And maybe Reyna too.)

Though oh god my one criticisms with the game happening through as I drew...aka OH GOD THIS CAN COME OFF OVER DESIGNED. Though this could be less the game's fault...and more the wiki only has one ref of this character, and trying to find like full body turn around of her outside of the wiki...didn't do that well. But darn it I will try my best to draw this Rococo opera insanity and try and make it look good.  I like to think I did that well enough, I don't have to be perfect just good enough. And I know the neon music notes look cheesey but you know what? I think it works, and its camp and fun and I am here for camp and fun darn it -shakes umbrella-  Also a detail I noticed while working on this, the pink part is the insides of the frog demon she is normally, because fun fact frogs can throw up their insides...while yes I think Bayonetta 3 can get a bit over designed the details can sometimes be really nice

Omg if you do end up creating a spiritfarer musical, I BEG you to give Giovanni the most silly love ballad imagineable, either a full blown acoustic guitar solo while he serenades thoroughly uninterested passengers, or have him pull out out a boombox out of nowhere to play a cheesey Italo Disco love song while he struts about in a leisure suit, please make this happen it could be so funny

He gives me crooner vibes, I can totally see his song starting in the lounge with the radio playing casually singing over that then going into a totally over the top ballad across the entire ship.

Alas I am only one guy :') whilst I'd love to make it a reality unless Thunderlotus backs it or a bigger theatre company would want to work on it, it will just have to stay a dream for now.

As consolation I'll show you my rough draft for Astrid :')

She was particularly inspired by the Julie Taymor Lion King cheetah puppets (made by micheal curry I believe) that combine puppet and costume into one character.

I had been experimenting with how to introduce their spirit flowers much later in the designing process and as Astrid was one I drew much later so her design featured that more prominently with the idea for her mane to be made up of mallow flower petals (fabric). Similar to Summer's flower petal scales.

hey, I'm really bored and I wanted to answer some asks. here's a little description about the Oc's/ story

Annoying info ramble:

These characters are from a Fnaf/ Dsaf (maybe a bit Dialtown since there's phone peoples and I think Dsaf and Dialtown overlap a bit? idk it's complicated) Au/ story, I've been working on it for like years now. But when I first made it, it was mainly a rough draft and when there wasn't any Phone Guys (I added them just recently) but now I've been adding more like lore and stuff, anyways what I'm saying is you can ask my Ocs (yes, including the animatronics) please reblog this when you can I really would like to get attention.

Bio/ info on this specific story/ AU:

It takes place in California in the 1980's (like most FNAF/ DSAF stuff) it's a rarely new Pizzeria named: Wolf Wonderworld's Pizzeria (I know, Cheesey) and it's run by this guy named Mr. Kent (he's the main antagonist, he's not a great guy) But basically it goes that there was a lot of problems going on during the first couple years of the Pizzeria being opened stuff happened, yada yada, but now the Pizzeria is more popular and thriving and not-so bad stuff is happening (except your average every now and then shenanigans. I will post updates as I go along)

here's the characters, folks:

1st, the Phone Guys:

John "Gino" Dalton, He's the first phone guy to be added to this location. (ask him about his scars and stuff) Mr. Kent crudely created him in a Dr. Frankenstein-esque way. He doesn't remember anything besides for working at this location. however he does get flashbacks/ memories but... they're not his. He does not know exactly who's memories these are since, when he gets the flashbacks it's just in 1st person perspective, so he thinks they're his own (they're not).

Jesse (that's right, just Jesse) nothing really crazy about him except that he's the co-manager of this location. he's pretty stuck up and bossy (especially to Gino)

(also a quick warning the upcoming art is horrifically old and uh yeah just prepare for terrible proportions and a inconsistent art style also there's some parts of the character designs here that aren't canon so yeahhh) I'll try my best to make new refs for these guys

Kenneth "Kenny" Williams just an employee there, nothing too special, he's pretty shy around certain people (mostly people who seem intimidating) he's a pretty nice guy. He unfortunately lost his right arm in "an accident with some machinery" so yeahh (also he has a romantic interest in Vincent)

Vincent Daniels what a guy, he's quite the guy. he lost his right eye in an accident as a child (an accident which lead him to being an orphan) he has a goth sister named Cassie. he's also quite a stubborn guy and he can be flirtatious to try and win people over/ intimidate them.

Kip Fletcher (holy shit this art is so freaking old) again, just another employee, nothing to crazy. he's a nice fella, one of the younger employee's and he's dating Vuk

Vuk Munoz again, just another employee, he's pretty chill as well and he's one of the younger employee's and he's dating Kip

uh next will be just a list of the other employees (cause I couldn't find good refs, this'll just be their names and will be a bit of a surprise for you to see them since I didn't post any art/refs)

Mr. Kent (the owner and main manager of this location)

employees: Fritz, Everett, Jessica, Berry

next up, the Animatronics (yes you can ask them)

Wolf Wonderworld (the main guy) he's the main singer for the shows and talks the most during the shows as well, he's the main mascot and face of the Pizzeria (basically plays the "Freddy" role)

Katerina Kitten, she's the second singer in the show and she's also one of the main speakers. (basically plays the "chica" role)

Carl Coyote, he plays the electric guitar and is the back up singer as well as having solos in some songs and having solo acts/ skits. beside from that he mainly performs skits with Matt (next guy) (Carl basically plays the "Bonnie" role)

Matt the Bat, he is mainly the comic relief in skits, he's placed in a barrel, he used to be a standing up animatronic like the others but was heavily damaged in the legs and the owner was too lazy to fix him up so they just put the animatronic in a more stationary position (basically plays the "foxy" role)

there is other characters in this story/ AU but they aren't as important or just simply don't work at the Pizzeria

I'm not going to do anything with them but they have been rotting away in my drawing app for months, they deserve to breathe (also because they've been in there for months these drawings are old and as such I HATE them; burn the old art with fire)

Napoleon Ice Cream (Berry/Vanilla/Coco): Bot/Goo

The youngest; would be adopted YEARS after the second youngest is born; yes this means test tube and fan would be grandparents

I remember I loved these three so much, but looking back it's something about them doesn't look right- and also very original personalities were just so one dimensional (shy/happy/silly; from left to right) I still think that the idea of them being an object version of conjoined triplets is fun though.

Candy Apple: Marshmallow/Apple

Second youngest; was raised in the mansion; got bow from Aunt Bow as a birthday gift

Genuinely was a character that I think had potential if i was to do anything with them. They were just kind of silly and they were fun to imagine shenanigans with. I also had this thing where everyone else would think of her as "the crazy homeschooled until 3rd grade ghost believer"

Hurling Ball: Baseball/Nickel

3rd youngest; definitely a bit on the rude side but more in like the older brother way (like he'll pick on his friends and other ship kids but if you make fun of them he will destroy you mentally and physically; their best friend is Hot Air Balloon (more on that later)

I honestly thought he was boring before but weirdly I think he would have been one of the more interesting ship kids, weird how time changes people's perspective. Also some fun peace of trivia they were originally going to be a steel Ball but because I was obsessed with originality after I found out someone else already did that I tried to find another ball and hurling Ball looked good enough (tbh I don't even remember what sport his ball is from)

Paprika: Salt/Pepper

4th youngest; just like her moms; considered pretty

She's just a Blue's Clues reference. She is the most boring one on here.

Golden Cup: Trophy/Cheesey

5th youngest; loves pranks; would be a part of the mean girls.... that I never fleshed out-

The second most boring. It's unfortunate that her design ended up being the most simple because this was the FIRST one I did. Originally she was going to be a yellow cab but she was going to be a mug specifically so I could have a pun on there for cheesy but it ended up looking too clunky so I ended up going up this instead (I should have gone with the pun mug)

Hot Air Balloon (Balloon Jr.): Suitcase/Balloon

5th oldest; shy; despite the previous trait EXTRAORDINARILY protective of his friends; best friends with Hurling Ball

For this genuinely being my favorite ship surprisingly I didn't think of much for him. SIKE I MADE A WHOLE ARC OF HIM NOT WANTING TO BE BABIED BY HIS PARENTS. Kind of made him have a hole rebellious teen arc in which part of it is because of influence from Torch- oh right I scraped them because of my originality rule. So now they're arc doesn't make sense because I never even designed their love interest that causes half of the arc...great

Lamp: Lightbulb/Paintbrush

4th oldest; likes bossing other kids; has temper issues (geez wonder where those came from)

her whole thing is that she genuinely loves the world around her and constantly wants to explore it but because of the fact of if she gets too angry her light bulb explodes (and causing her to pass out and if not treated die) she's constantly pushed away from pursuing what they want to do in life which ironically has the opposite effect and ends up with them slowly bottling everything in (at least trying to) until it explodes in their face (literally IN their face)

Cucumber Salad: Taco/Cucumber (OC)

3rd oldest; has trust issues; has lived with her her whole life yet knows nothing about her mom

I've explained the absolute TEA that is the Taco drama when it comes to cucumber salad and I don't want to explain it again so if you want to know that whole story go here. She has no idea who her father is until much later in the story and as such Taco is her single mother. As for cucumber salad herself her trust issues are immaculate and what that basically means is that you cannot have a normal conversation with her without her demonizing you in her mind. Her one and only friend is Edge (we'll get to that in a little bit). Originally her and Ed were written into be love interests but WAY later for drama reasons I decided I wanted pickle and cucumber to be brothers... WHICH MADE THE SHIP REALLY BAD SO I SCRAPPED IT. I'm still in the fence about pickling cucumber being Brothers but I don't want to risk it so yeah the crush thing is scrapped. Unfortunately I realizing I didn't have a lot of her personality planned out cuz I was so distracted by tacos drama. Most scenarios I thought of with her was her realizing everything her mom has done in the past and/or the fact that she was a mistake-

2nd oldest; therapist friend; is it dumb in the smartest way possible

His entire personality was basically being the therapist friend and being smarter than he gave himself credit for. Like with more logic focus stuff he's terrible but when it comes to pretty much anything mentally he's as smart as a wise old man that's already lived life. A little bit of this comes from knife but a lot of it doesn't both pickle and knife are very confused on how they're son is so emotionally intelligent. He considers cucumber salad a friend but not a best friend unlike her (ouch)

Candelabra: Silver/Candle

Oldest; well at least she would be if she wasn't the only scrapped character that I've drawn

I forget what her personality was going to be before the most part she was pretty much just this elegant refined person. She was scrapped because I kid you not literally a couple HOURS after I drew her I came across an ask blog that also had a candelabra in it. Don't get me wrong I'm very appreciative is that I found it and it's one of my favorite Tumblr blogs to date (and is also run by one of my mutuals) However again I had a huge "all of the ship kids I make must be original objects with no exceptions!" thing so because of this I scrapped her immediately.

Closing thoughts:

This was a nice trip down memory lane, but if I was ever to actually make a ship kids thing then they would be redesigned, rewritten, and in certain cases replaced. Some of these designs are horrendous to look at looking back and/or are just boring. I'd want to rewrite a lot of their personalities and stories at the very least to make them feel more dimensional. And for certain characters I don't know if I'd want them to exist at all (mainly golden cup)

Adult Byler Teacher Headcanons

They both teach at the same school, maybe even same district.

Will teaches art, namely Drawing & Painting I & II, as well as AP Art & Honors Drawing for Production & Design. (He also was dragged into making props for the school musical, and started/runs the school’s GSA. Mans is SWAMPED)

Mike teaches AP Language & Comp, Creative Writing, Honors English 9, and English 11. He also runs the school’s Literary Magazine, Newspaper, and Yearbook clubs. (Mans is similarly swamped)

(They’re both considering starting up an AV club & a D&D club, but where they’ll find the money or the time, they got no clue)

Will was the reason Mike first explored teaching. Mike had taken his dad’s advice & become a business major, because it can be applied to lots of jobs & is a good way to get a job quick, but… yeah, he fucking hated it.

He ended up taking one of the education courses Will was taking, trying to fulfill some credits & figuring having a class with Will would make it bearable… and then he fell headfirst into teaching

They were hired at the same time. They student taught together, too. A wave of retirees meant most of their colleagues were new blood, like them, and… well, there was A Lot of relationship drama among the staff. It was like a freakin’ soap opera. (Did my high school have a lot of interpersonal staff relationship drama? Yes, why do you ask?)

Will & Mike came out when they got married, because Will wanted to change his last name. By this point, Will was already running the school’s GSA. They hadn’t been very public about their relationship, having been there for The Sanders Affair Of 2006 (and the subsequent divorces, marriages, and affairs that came from said affair) & making the mutual decision to keep their personal lives private… but as their district became less conservative, they hadn’t exactly hidden it, either.

Their friends on the staff all know, & some are close enough friends to get invites

Will had gone by “Mr. William” for the vast majority of his career, so it wasn’t a huge shift for his students or anything.

Mike’s nickname is just “Wheeler,” a similar sign of affection—at least, to his face.

(His students call him “Hot Wheels” behind his back)

Will’s hair has gone entirely grey. (Lonnie’s genetics, rip). Post-covid, he uses blue light glasses… unlike mike, who needs glasses full-time. (Will teases him about this quite frequently)

Mike finishes growing his hair out, but ditched the bangs. He’s one of those teachers who always has his hair in a severe ponytail (he likes manbuns, too, but you wont often see him with one bc We’re At Work, Will, I Must Be Professional)

They have matching rings, customized replicas of the One Ring bc they’re both geeks. They’re engraved to say “crazy together” in elvish. Technically these were their engagement rings… and also the rings they used when they got a domestic partnership, and also the rings they used in their wedding ceremony. For a long time, they wore them like necklaces tucked under their shirts (bc the Mike in the Math department & Sydney from Social Studies are MASSIVE gossips, and also bc LoTR is iconic & these two are cheesey af),

They started wearing them openly when Will changed his last name, though.

Will & Mike are the teachers who let students eat lunch in their classrooms. The ones who invite them in during free periods. The ones who hear about the shitty chem teacher, the asshole ex, the awful divorce, the toxic friend group, the impending move. They’re the ones who collect & display dozens of senior photos, whose hands cramp from writing yearbook messages, and the ones whose students will remember years later. They’re the ones who keep in touch—they get wedding invites and scattered letters and life updates.

Because they’re the ones who remember what it’s like to be 14, 15, and feeling like the world was about to end. They remember the bullies. They remember the isolation. They remember how awful it feels to grow apart from the people you used to hold dear, and how much they hated high school.

It’s why they love being teachers, exhausting as it is. They’re the adults they didn’t get in high school, despite their parents’ best efforts—they get to be the support they desperately needed. They get to watch their kids grow, and its so, so satisfying to know they’re giving the kids better than what they had.

But most importantly? They’re happy.
