You can really never go wrong with either Mac Barnett or Isabelle Arsenault, both masters of the child's perspective. Indeed, sometimes when kids ask their inevitable torrent of "why" questions they want information, but other times they're looking to be challenged, to have their silliness and imaginative boundaries pushed ever further. In Barnett and Arsenault's "Just Because" (2019), a father responds to his child's litany of bedtime questions with mischievous exaggeration, a bedtime story of what-ifs to ponder as she settles in for the night. I was sent a copy of this book by the publisher for consideration as part of our book club's Best of 2019 list, and I have to say, it's right up there among my favourites. ... an hour & 1/2 in the morning... & as long in the afternoon. . . Have you read Charlotte Mason’s Home Education Series yet? I’m slowly making my way through volume 1 title HOME EDUCATION... and really enjoying the wholesome back-to-basics advice she gives like having children take in as much fresh a i r as possible. . . Aside from trying to get more outdoor nature time outside, I’m also making it a point to look for lots of outdoor space and tranquil country surroundings for our next home (house hunting has been sooo exhausting, and it’s also the first time our babes get to join in on the action - 3 opinions to consider it’s quite a bit to field and integrate). . . We all agree that an ample natural space is important, shores up frequently and confirmed by Ms Mason’s words anytime I open up the book for a little mind mama rest. . . I finished reading #a literary education by #emilycook this weekend 📚. . .
