I lost my grandmother to #covid_19 in 2020. She gave me this Bible in 1996 for my high school graduation, along with a beautiful matching bookmark that she signed for me. I recently pulled it out and I’m rediscovering the beauty of the language of of the #KJV version. Made some changes around the #homeschoolroom over the weekend to accommodate the #logicofenglish materials and board - as well as the #allaboutreading set up. . . It’s also a great hub for our group work for the 3 subjects we’re doing together: spelling, science, and history. . . We’re starting our day with spelling after breakfast for the past 2 or so ish weeks and it’s been working smoothly 👌🏻. . . E has a desk he uses for his individual subjects and we’re shopping for one to add to M’s individual area (this long white one is the one she was using). . . What I’ve been reading lately 📖. . . Did you ever just read through a book finding it difficult to stop? That was the #welltrainedmind for me! It arrived on a Friday and my Sunday I was half way through the book... (it’s s pretty big tome of a book with info on the 3 stages of the #trivium). It’s been on my list of #homeschoolbooks to read for a long time but I haven’t gotten around to it, I heard it was huge so I think that partly played a role but was curious to get some in depth info and thoughts about #classicalhomeschooling . We’ve always dabbled and used #classicalhomeschool curriculum since starting #homeschooling ... but especially this year it seems we are using more than the usual amount. . . For K, 1st and 2nd we’ve used #mfw as our spine which was somewhat classical and #charlottemason based... this year Sassafras Science 🔬 and Story of the World are both in that same vein - with #sotw more on the classical side. I loved the other classical recs provided here. . . I also started reading #whenthebraincanthear last week... it’s a #CAPD #centralauditoryprocessingdisorder book I’ve had on my list to read for awhile, there’s some good information not in #thesoundofhope . I’m loving the easy map 🗺work included, the coloring pages and short stories - packed with so much info but in digestible chunks. . . This lesson also has a sweet Conquer Mesopotamia board game style review we’re planning to play after dinner today as a family. . . we learned about Julius Caesar in #sotw today and this phrase he uttered when asked how he accomplished his battle victories. . .
