He usually visited you and your brother quite often, considering how him and Loki had been training him to be his own passer. It's a bit weird, but you didn't mind not being at the field much anyway. Charles was a weird guy to, he's lounging on the sofa like a kid.

Loki didn't understand why he was even here, hanging out with them on an off day. But he decided to just scroll his phone. When you finally reached the living room, Loki was already scolding Charles for God knows how long. Charles just hummed closing his ears with his palms.

"Big bro?" His mouth immediately shut up at the sound of your voice. "Oi..! Your brother has been scolding me..!" Charles quickly whipped to your direction as Loki let out a small sigh. Straying past your brother quickly, over to your side.

Now you've only met him through the match between PXG and Bastard Munchen. Exchanging phone numbers, and you've grown to actually appreciate him. So, in a day off, you eventually met up with Isagi. No, what you both didn't know is that some fans recognized you, and it's gone viral.

Loki was just scrolling through his feed for the day, and his thumb stopped on a certain post. It was pictures of you and Isagi displayed on a thread. Investigating further, he found an edit of you two. Even the PXG boys asked Loki on the matter–

My nerves are wrecked. There was too much black this episode. Someone is going to die, and as much as I want it to be Big Red, I just don't feel good that Kentana is still on his bullshit, and Waymond keeps jumping in front of guns. Peter needs both of his boyfriends to live.

Also, Barbara, I already know you are immediately going to hug Charles next week, instead of having a moment to be pissed all the way off at him like you should be, so I'm going to start meditating on that right now. I've been mad at Charles the entire season, so I'll hold this grudge for both of us in the finale.

lando has played the team card every time, even in baku holding off max, but you cant even bother to keep charles off thats such bullshit - like i get it, you dont wanna play the number 2 driver but you ARE and thats not changing, and yes you and lando are much closer in terms of skill but even then you have to play by the team rules, especially when needed

am i saying that lando deserved P1 today? no, leclerc was phenomenal with how he pulled that off at the beginning and thats a well deserved win even if im not a charles fan by a mile like i just dgaf about him like that BUT i at least have the decency to recognise hard work where its due , and he did that (tyre management goes crazy) - but lando worked hard too, and it was simply robbed off of him and that fucking blows

A/N: this is my first story about Charles Leclerc so pls don’t judge 😅😊

You couldn't believe what you were seeing. Your childhood best friend, actual F1 driver, was back in Monaco. How could you forget? You thought about it since this season started. What if you're going to bump into him on the streets? It's been 5 years since you stopped talking and never got in touch with each other.

While Charles was busy signing for fans, Arthur's eyes wondered further from the crowd and spotted you. "Isn't that Y/N?" He whispered to Charles. "Who?" His brother replied. "Never mind. I'll be over there at the cafe" Arthur said, making his way over to you.

You pretended you were intensely studying the menu (even though you already ordered) when he approached you. "Is this Y/N Y/L/N?" You looked up in a beat, a bit disappointed it wasn't Charles, but his brother. Damn, their voices were so alike. "Yep. That's me" you replied smiling. "I haven't seen you in a loooong time" he said, sitting in the opposite chair. "Same to you. How you've been?" You asked. "Pretty good, got into F2, things are going well. Charles over there is in F1, so he does better than me" he rolled his eyes playfully. "He's not really doing well with all the crashes" you mumbled. "So you're watching? Are you a fan?" He smirked. "Well... only when I'm bored" you said. "Anyways, what about you?" He asked. "You're always changing the subject when you don't like something" you chuckled. "I'm good, I'm studying Architecture here, I still have 3 more years to go". "And do you have someone?" He asked.

Just when you were about to reply, Charles appeared by his brother's side. "Are you trying to hook up? Really?" He said to Arthur. "Bro, it's Y/N. Your best friend remember?" Arthur said, Knocking into Charles's head. Charles looked over to you, still not making out who you were. You were a bit disappointed because he didn't remember you, but you remembered everything about him and still had that stupid crush on your best friend. Or ex best friend.

"You should invite her to the race tomorrow" Arthur suggested. "Even though she watches F1 when bored".

"OOOOH!!! It's Y/N/N" Charles said. "You and your stupid nickname. Yes, it's her" Arthur rolled his eyes. Charles couldn't contain his excitement, so he hugged you. "I missed you" he whispered. "I missed you too". "So you're coming to the race then?" He asked. "Sounds good" you smiled.

-- 5 hours before the race --

"I told you not to freak out" Arthur said, hugging you. "I till feel weird to be here. I basically know nothing" you said. "Don't worry, I'll explain everything you need to know. By the way, Charles's sending you a gift" he said. "Really? After I spent 2 hours to pick my outfit, you give me a t-shirt?". "It's designed by Charles for the race. Come on, you'll look good" he said.

"So did you understand how things are around here?" Arthur asked. "Let's hope for the best" you laughed awkwardly. Man, this sport was something else. "And now Ferrari motor home. And probably Charles is dressing up in here" Arthur said, making his way through the mechanics who we're finishing the last checks on the car. Indeed, Charles was putting on his special Monaco suit and he looked damn hot in it. Fuck, go away stupid crush.

"Y/N, you came. And you're looking good" Charles said, hugging you. "Of course. Wouldn't want to miss my best friend racing right?" You chuckled. "Oops forgot something. Be right back" Arthur said, leaving the two of you alone. "So..." Charles said. "Are you scared? I mean, I would be, driving 200 on these streets. Or are you feeling pressured because it's a home race? I would, I'm always feeling under pressure and I can't work properly" you ranted. "I do feel scared and excited, and under pressure, but I'm enjoying it to the maximum" he replied. He always liked when you asked his questions and were honest with him. "So... who's your biggest rival?" You asked. "Myself". "I would say Verstappen cuz I do like him... and probably Hamilton. He's ok" you said.

"And who's this beautiful lady we have here?"

"Carlos, she's Y/N, my...best friend" Charles said. "Hi. Nice to meet you" you said. "Carlos is my teammate who I don't know what is doing here" Charles narrowed his eyes at him. "Just wanted to wish you luck. But I guess you already have" he grinned.

"I have to get in the car. Make sure your headset is working properly and enjoy watching" Charles said. "Thanks. Wait Charles" you said, before he could put on his helmet. "Yeah?". You leaned in and kissed him on the cheek. "Win for me, will ya?" You winked, making him blush.

"Watching the two of you is funny. You clearly have feelings for each other" Arthur said. "And where have you been, mister?". "Just letting you have some time with him. And I guess he's going to invite you to the party as well" he said, helping you put on the headset so you could hear Charles's radio. "What party?" You asked. "After the race, there's a party to celebrate. If he wins, he'll want you by your side. If he loses, he still wants you by his side" he shrugged. "Is it starting?" You asked. "Yeah. Pray for him".

"Omg is he okay??" You asked, seeing the collision between him and Carlos. "Yeah it's just the front wing. He should be able to continue the race" Arthur explained.

"Fucking hell why would he do that??? Putain!!! That idiot!!!"

You winced at his words, never seeing Charles so angry before. Sure his own teammate would sabotage him.

"I'm sorry, Y/N/N"

"He's a twat" Arthur sighed. "He still had time no?" You asked. "Maybe, but I guess he already gave up". "Can I told to him?" You asked and Arthur nodded.

"Charles, it's Y/N speaking. Please don't give up, you've worked so hard for this and it's a shame to give up now. This is your empire, Charles, show them who's the king. I know you won't give up that easily. Or so I thought that I know my best friend. I love you, Charles. Make everyone proud"

"You confessed over the radio? You're crazy" Arthur chuckled. "He needs to know. I can't hide it anymore" you shrugged. "Welcome to the family. Officially as Charles's girlfriend" he said, hugging you. "He didn't ask me yet" you laughed. "He will, trust me. Probably the first thing he'll do when he gets out of the car".

And it's first place for Charles Leclerc in Monaco. What a race! The Monaco curse is broken!

And Arthur was indeed right. After congratulating the other drivers on the podium, he ran to where you were and hugged you tightly. "Be my girlfriend? Please". "Hmm I don't know..." you faked thinking about it. "We haven't talked for five years. I still don't know why we did that" you said. "Me neither. I guess it's my fault. I was at the beginning of the F1 career and didn't want a distraction. Sorry for that" he said. "It's okay. Let's just enjoy is being reunited" You leaned in, pressing your lips to his. "God, I can't believe I did that" you chuckled. Charles smirked before pulling you into another kiss. "Get a room. Wait first go to celebrate and then get a room" Arthur said, hugging the both of you. "Or we could celebrate in a room" Charles shrugged. "Gross. Now go, the trophy's waiting" Arthur said.

After the celebration, Charles came back into the garage, smelling like champagne, but you didn't care. And after that, you went to the party and as Arthur said everything you did was 18+🤪.

TSH characters as characters from The Iliad bc they’re both engrained in my mind rn

Immediately went to Henry as Odysseus but only because of heir shared cunning and wit, I don’t really see any similarities in their personality other than being hated by any sane person. I also correlate him to Agamemnon only because of the king of king title but there’s no similarities in any other sense. I often see fics compare him to Achilles, which I suppose I see with the whole bloodlust and slaughter, plus their tendency to be full of rage (seen in Henry beating the shit out of that one guy and being so fed up with Bunny he killed him)

Richard as Diomedes since he was often partnered with Odysseus and supported one another (Richard helping Henry plan the mushrooms), the part where Odysseus almost betrays Dio by stabbing him in the back and Dio just being like ‘bro wtf’ just reminds me off them.

Bunny and Paris I feel is an obvious connect, they have similar vibes/personalities in my mind. Going with that, I suppose you could also see Henry being a bit like Hector (though I wouldn’t make a complete comparison due to Hector being loyal to his brother and Henry… not so much)

Camilla I feel could be compared to any of the women in the story due to us seeing her through Richard. She’s like Helen in the way he only desires her for her beauty, Cassandra in the way she’s not listed to by him, if you’re running with the Henry as Hector then she’s comparable to Andromache. Personally I associate her with Artemis, though I don’t rlly know how to say why. I also sort of compare her to Menelaus, though again I don’t really know why. (Sorry to any Camilla lovers reading this I feel like I have a very shallow grasping of her character)

Charles who I see as Palamedes (who isn’t in The Iliad but was present at the start of he war) due to him seeing through Odysseus’ tricks and that being his downfall, Charles probably had a greater understanding of Henry’s more morally corrupt side which did get him on Henry’s shit list (similarly to Palamedes and Odysseus). I also see him being similar to Sinon (who again I don’t think was relevant in the Iliad but has a greater role later in the war) who is Odysseus cousin and basically hated the guy but still worked with him to execute the Trojan horse plan.

We then have Francis who I once again have no idea who to put with. I feel the need to associate him with Patroclus due to his closeness with Achilles (Henry in this case) and Briseis (being Camilla in this case)

Julian is obviously Nestor/Priam: the wise old man who has a lot of influence over everyone

This was honestly a struggle I’m already bad at spelling so the names were kinda hard to spell off the top of my head. I feel like this rlly shows which characters I don’t have a full grasping off (I’m sorry Francis and Camilla I do love you I promise)

Have nothing besides they go by Seer, non binary and they're sorta on Magnetos side (Their opinion of him suffers greatly as he sacrifices Rouge in the first movie :< ) They're like 19 and are basically Wren's little sibling !!! They grew up on the streets together, Wren would always take all the hits and cruel things people did because of their mutations :(

While Wren hates humans, he also doesn't want whatever innocent humans there are to suffer because of all the mean ones.

Seer, however, despises humans and can't see how they're worth saving because they witnessed everything those mean people would do to Wren but also never saw any other humans trying to stop or help. But Seer does start realizing Magnetos methods are a bit extreme.

Siblings on opposite sides😔💔 good angst trope but !!! Wren and Seer still text and call frequently, neither go out on missions either so they rarely get hurt or have to fight. But even if they did, both already told Charles/Magneto they refuse to fight each other and they also don't want them to get hurt :<

Wren would absolutely take a blast aimmed for Seer 😭 also Seer loves showing Magneto their favourite music/memes and Magneto is just... So lost??? He doesn't understand. But they're kinda like a silly grandpa grandchild duo. Seer gets along with Mystique a little more, she keeps more up to date with the trends😋

But back to the sillies !!! (Wren, Scott and Logan)

Wren doesn't sleep much, he doesn't really need to so he just doesn't ( He had to stay awake as a kid to keep Seer safe :< Wren can't bring himself to sleep because what if someone needs him?) So Wren just watches like those stop motion lego cooking videos while Scott is cuddled up to him, Logan somewhat cuddled but with his back turned so his claws don't potentially hurt Wren and Scott. Even though Wren would be fine, with Scott sometimes sleeping halfway on top of Wren, Logan doesn't wanna risk hurting him :<

But Wren always gives Logan extra cuddles since Scott always wakes up before Logan :> and Scott and Logan aren't huge on cuddling each other😭 like every so often they will but their love language is bickering and shoving each other🙄

One night though Wren actually lets himself fall asleep after Scott insisted he should at least try and bro he was knocked out🔥🔥🔥 passed out with his face buried in Scotts tiddies (me next me next!!) Wren still doesn't sleep much but if he does, his face is buried in Logan or Scotts tiddies🙏

I cannot say I know much about the actual x man lore of the story to pitch in my thoughts on their backstory but I do have to say I love protective sibling tropes on opposite sides sm!!!! And also it’s kind of sweet how wren has some sympathy for good humans while seer doesn’t have any towards any human because humans have always been so unkind to their brother

Who is your favourite driver? Ugh, Lewis and Charles are very close, but if I have to pick one, I would choose Lewis. He's just everything to me.

Do you have any other favourite drivers? Yes, I really love Charles, Oscar, Lance, George and lately Yuki and Logan became big favourites of mine. :)) (But I also love all of the other drivers mentioned in my profile description, hehe).

Who is your least favourite driver? Max, Carlos and Daniel.

Do you pull for drivers or do you like teams as well? Mostly drivers, I only genuinely like two teams.

If you like teams, which team do you pull for? Ferrari and Aston Martin, are the aforementioned two teams. I liked Williams for a while, but their treatment of Logan lately just kinda threw me off a bit.

How long have you been into F1? I knew about F1 since I was a kid, because my dad used to watch it during Seb's domination era. But I only really got into it in November of 2022.

What got you into F1? I always dreaded this question, cause it kind of proves the point of the sexist dude bros, but it's fine, I'll be brave about it. My friend kind of tried to get me into F1 since 2020, but it just didn't really work out. Until I saw a video of Arthur Leclerc on tiktok and I thought he was cute, so I looked him up, found Charles, thought he was the most attractive man I've ever seen and the rest is history... 🙈

Do you enjoy fanfic/RPF? I do, but not all of them. Some of them just cross a line and I don't fuck with that.

How do you view new fans? I try to be as accepting and helpful as possible, cause I know how it felt when I started watching the sport and I didn't understand a lot of things and no one really helped me. I don't want people to feel like they're not welcome, no matter how they got into the sport. What matters is that they're interested and they want to keep watching.

Do you have any friends or family who are into F1? My dad used to watch it, but doesn't anymore, although he always asks me what happened after every GP and I have three friends who watch F1.

If you could take over as team principal for any team , who would it be and why? I would choose Mercedes. As a former fan, it's shitty to watch the current state of that team. Also I have a saviour complex and I'm convinced that I can fix it. (I also think that I would be better than Torger, but whatever).

I have a story to tell you about Charles Martinet, Mario and a certain girl going through a tough time:

2008, in a small town in Ontario, Canada...A little girl had her things packed up in a car driven by the only people she ever knew at that point: Her foster parents. They were the people that raised her thus far, and saved her life countless times when no one else could do so. They were devoted to her, and treated her like a grandchild.

The car rolled up to a big house in this tiny town. They parked, got out of the car, and helped the little girl get moved into the house. The little girl had only just turned 5 years old...She had been adopted a couple months earlier, and now she was taking the last step of making it official: she was being moved into her new forever home. Her new parents greeted her at the door, and gave her a welcome home present: A baby doll in a bikini and a bed/bathing bunk bed set. She absolutely loved it!

Her new brother raced her upstairs, to see her new bedroom. This would be the first time that the little girl had a bedroom. Up until then, she had never grown accustomed to sleeping alone, and always had to sleep in the same room as her foster parents because that felt the most safe. She jumped on the bed, squealing loudly in excitement. It was a beautiful bedroom! This ended up being the day that would vividly stick in her head for decades to come.

But not all was sunshine and rainbows. For the little girl didn't understand that she won't see her foster parents as often anymore. And she was now in a brand new home, with no friends and no full understanding of what being a daughter to new parents meant. She quickly developed anxiety from all the new rules, all the new things she had to go to, and the new disciplinary actions that scared her into believing she was a terrible daughter and therefore, wasn't worth being adopted.

But one thing kept her calm throughout that time...

Her brother had shown her a game called Super Mario Bros 3 for the Gameboy. She was allowed to play it whenever she asked, and spent many minutes on the game. That was the first introduction. She grew to recognize this red character they called Mario, and this green character they called Luigi. It was fun for her, and she loved their silly voices. Her new brother imitated their voices all the time, which made it even more hilarious! And Charles Martinet's Italian impression was always the voice she recognized to be Mario. And Luigi had a recognizable voice too! She didn't know, but Charles Martinet voiced both Mario and Luigi!

It didn't take long for the little girl to start using her imagination. Mario would show up in her room and take her on adventures too. Mario distracted her from the fears of this new world, and helped her push through. Mario was her right-hand man when she went to school. Mario kept her company when the little girl was on a timeout. Unlike her parents, Mario never left her alone. He knew how stressed the little girl was. And he watched as the stress slowly became her normal. She never spoke a word to her new parents because she felt terrible for feeling this way about something good. But Mario always understood. Mario read her mind effortlessly and comforted her through it all.

15 years later...the original voice actor of Mario and Luigi, would retire. By now, that little girl was all grown up. She developed other tools to help her anxiety, and she went by the nickname 'Pocket' online. And the night that girl found out about his retirement...she cried into her pillow. The voice behind the imaginary friend she had loved as a child, was retiring and moving onto other things. She...was bittersweet about it. Because as much as she wanted Charles to do other things with his life...He was the go-to voice she would emulate in her head when her life-saving imaginary friend would come around. Super Mario was her first ever tool for anxiety. And if she ever came across him or had enough money to fly to see him...she wanted to give him a big hug and thank him for indirectly helping her through one of the hardest transitions of her life.

Thank you, Mr. Martinet. Thank you for all you did for Mario, and every generation that Mario inspired. He would never have come alive nearly as well without your help. You are one of the most underappreciated humans known to mankind. And in my opinion, you deserve to be placed beside Bob Ross as a legend.

I saw the Mario movie yesterday and honestly it was really good! I give it like an 8/10.

Unfortunately I missed the first couple minutes or so of the movie because the theater was lined up with people, so it took a bit to actually get in haha. My friends and I all went dressed as Mario/Luigi too, which was awesome.

tl;dr the Mario is very good and I want to see more

I was kind of expecting Chris Pratt's Mario to be not great, but surprisingly Fred Armisen's Cranky Kong was even worse. The only voice in the movie where I was like "wow this really doesn't fit." Now that I've seen the full movie rather than just the trailers I can tell that Chris Pratt at least tried. I still think that someone else probably would have fit better, but he wasn't horrible. Like even Charlie Day as Luigi and Seth Rogen as DK were pretty much just their regular voices, they still kinda fit somehow. Keagan-Michael Key's Toad and Kevin Michael Richardson's Kamek were spot on. Anya Taylor-Joy's Peach was serviceable—she sounds like a girl. And Jack Black's Bowser was freaking amazing. If I could tweak it a little bit to be pitched down slightly and maybe more growly then I think it would've been absolutely perfect, but as is I think he did a fantastic job. Charles Martinet as Giuseppe (basically Mario's design as Jump Man from the original Donkey Kong arcade game) was so great, and casting him as the Mario Bros' dad was a great choice.

The score was brilliantly done, the direction of having Koji Kondo as a composing consultant was an excellent choice, wouldn't have had it any other way. While I figured at least one pop song to show up, I think five has more than I was more than I was expecting. I'm not exactly bothered by it, but it was very noticeable haha. Also I wasn't expecting (yet not surprised) by the full on musical number that Bowser did performed by Jack Black. It was great lol, well done and got me to laugh. Also the DK rap was a welcome surprise, although Grant Kirkhope went uncredited which kinda sucks. Plus all the sound effects were great too.

The story wasn't intricate, and I keep hearing this as a complaint, but it's a Super Mario Bros. movie so idk what people were expecting on that front. It was a really fun ride from start to finish and I actually already want to watch it again. It's a great kid's movie and all the details, references, and easter eggs they put in for the fans of the series are greatly appreciated too. I wasn't expecting them to show so much of the Mario Bros' family or Peach's origins (which is to say not much, but I wasn't expecting any at all. And I also wasn't expecting them to show where the blue shells come from, so that's neat. I'm mildly disappointed at how large a chunk of the movie Luigi was captured. I understand they wanted someone to get captured because that's kind of Bowser's thing and they probably wanted Peach to shine on her own and do girl boss things, but I'm just disappointed that he was in a cage for like most of the movie.

The animation was also really well done if you were worried about that. I've seen some critics complain about that, but it almost feels like they watched a different movie as far as that point goes. The lighting was spectacular, the screen was almost always packed with detail, and the characters were expressive.

One last tiny gripe: Hearing the koopas being referred to as turtles more than once felt off to me. I know this complaint is such a nerdy one, but Nintendo has always gone out of their way to specifically call them koopas and not turtles. I usually only ever hear people call them turtles when it's someone who only vaguely knows about Mario. Having Mario call them turtles kinda makes sense since he's from Brooklyn transported to the Mushroom Kingdom, but Peach and even Bowser himself referred to them as turtles which was weird to me.

LMAOO no worries i did get your ask earlier but last night was a little crazy for me…long story short i returned to the party scene for the first time in a WHILE and in the span of a few hours my best friend got cussed out by a guy on coke, a man downloaded linkedin for me because drunk mira wanted to build he professional network (??) and then slid into my linkedin dms trying to date, a DIFFERENT guy who we literally met on the street after the coke guy kicked us out of the party we were at flirted w me for like half an hour on the side of the road while my friends talked to his friends and then he asked me to dinner (i told him i was too drunk to answer properly but actually i just thought he was unattractive and didn’t want to be mean 💔), AND THEN to make things worse i woke up today with an awful hangover and migraine 😭 threw up so hard i burnt my throat and sounded like a chain smoker for a solid hour it was horrible 😰 truly a night where bfb karasu was needed but alas…here we are…i’m finally able to look at my phone without my migraine flaring up though so i will answer you now 🫡
