Don't ask me why I decided to write this, I was just feeling really lonely and was like what would my bots be like as a bf?

Rufus

at best I don't think he would be a good bf. why? I feel like before his father passing he more or less acted really entitled and manipulative, he probably has had a few pass relationships (his first one being the worst one and kind of making him the way he is) that messed up either because he was too pushy or just... no that's just it. I feel like though he has more negatives he definitely has a loving side, he would always buy you the most expensive gifts, and occasional dates; though you probably wont see him often since he's the boss of shinra.

Tseng

Tseng is a die heart lover boy!!! he loves spending time with you, though he doesn't show it outside. I believe he often keeps to the stern and well spoken personality, when outside but at home he's all over you, hugs are his favourite. He's mostly like this because he for the most part doesn't get time to spend with you due to always being on a mission or being at work. Though when he's around you he makes sure you have the most nutritious food, and get good exercise. When Tesng is home, I feel like he would make different types of teas for you depending on what you need, for example when you need help with your insomnia, he makes you camomile tea, and gives you a nice back massage.

Rude

he's supportive. makes sure to bring you up every day, trust me the only times you don't get a message from him in the morning, is when he's in a different time zone, and doesn't want to wake you up with his messages. At the beginning he was really hesitant to make any moves on you but grew more comfortable as time went on, I know for a fact that he loves to show you off and make sure to make you food when he is at home. For reference, he loves making spicy food, and anytime your ill, he asks Tseng for some advice on what teas you should drink to help make you feel better.

Reno

HE IS SO HAPPY! he loves you so much, be ready for many phone calls and him talking you none stop, about anything and everything, I feel like most of your calls would be silent, since he doesn't have much to talk about (since he just called you an hour ago) but he defo loves to have your presence around him. When he is home, he loves to give you deep hugs, and back massages, mostly cause of your perfume; must i add that he sprays your perfume on his jumper when he hasn't seen you for a while? When it comes to food, I don't think he likes to cook, hell when he was training to become a Turk he defo spent most of his time eating ramen noodles, and the leftovers of what rude makes. So he's so happy when you cook, or even when you two get take always, be ready for snuggles and a couple of love kisses since he loves to do movie nights at home.

Cissnei

She's a reader... why is this relevant? because you and her going on library dates, and book shopping galore. She loves to write you little poems about you or read out poems about her day, though for the most part she won't share them with anyone else; but you. in terms of work, she keeps relatively active and doesn't go on many extensions, so most of her time is spent at the office working, if she gets off early, she will meet you at your office with a cupcake, or cookie for you to eat. she likes hugs, but prefers to kiss and hold you, but the way she most shows her affection is by doing you hair, since she loves to take care of her own hair skin; so be ready for a lot of hair masks, and face masks.

Elena

Personally, I feel as if Elena would be super shy, and closed off in a relationship, even though she is amazing I feel like she has a lot of stress due to being, mind you, ONLY 18! so i feel like homegirl defo needs her positive affirmation, when it comes to the relationship. She isn't much of a cooker, so when it comes house shores she would do the cleaning/washing meanwhile you would cook, or she would get a take away. She spends most of her time working, since she tries really hard to prover herself, and doesn't want to be overlooked due to her age and gender, so a lot of the time you would find her passed out on her laptop in YOUR hoodie. when on a mission she often tries to text you to make sure your up, and have an explanation on what she's doing as well as what your plans are for the rest of the day (bonus she has a cat that you look after when she is away). Finally, she doesn't often go on dates with you, but when she does she spends SOOOOO much money, why? because she wants to go to the fun fair, especially winter wonderland, which is her favourite! she loves the warm coco, the smell of cinnamon and most importantly looking into your eyes, if you two ever got married, she would definitely propose to you here.

BONUS: she listens to Airplane mode when she's thinking of you.

The Banora boys get the Applin variants. Genesis gets a Flapple and Angeal has an Appletun

Genesis also tries to deflect attention onto his much flashier Ceruledge in public tho

Angeal was also given an Aegislash by his father which he nicknamed Buster. Buster has seen too much as it’s passed down to Zack and then Cloud in turn, watching its partners suffer but unable to form the words to comfort them

Hojo tries and tries to get Sephiroth something big, ultra-powerful and intimidating, but Seph is set on the adorable Mew which found him and refused to leave his side. Still a mythical so Hojo lets him keep it but is very miffed

Cloud was adopted by a Galarian Zapdos bc chocobo. I don’t make the rules. I do feel like the character arc the Sobble line goes through fits him really well tho

Zack has an unevolved Rockruff for quite a while. When it eventually does evolve, no matter what time of day it is, it will inevitably evolve into Midday Lycanroc because Zack’s sunny personality is overwhelming

Aerith has a Tinkaton. They’re perfect for each other

I don’t know how to explain it but Mudsdale gives me Tifa vibes, also it was a powerhouse when I had it on my team and I love it

Hojo created a Mewtwo bc all other pokemon rejected him, but it immediately turned on its creator and murders him violently, preventing all problems and fixing everything without the need for time travel

Insane Seph got a Deoxys bc creepy alien. Maybe it is Jenova in this universe and starts corrupting him as soon as he gets it driving him insane

Rufus gets a Houndoom bc that’s basically what Darkstar is anyways

Cait Sith is basically just Meowth already, I don’t need to do much here. Maybe Perrserker to be the version from the Scotland area Pokemon game

Alternatively for Reeve I feel like Duraludon works, bc urban development and it reminds me of the Neo Midgar concepts

Oh dear god while writing this I thought too much about the implications of SOLDIER still existing in a world where pokemon battles replaced normal fighting. Maybe it was an experiment to splice human dna with pokemon to get humans to be able to fight using pokemon moves too? So like you go up against a SOLDIER, faint all 6 of their pokemon and think yay I’ve won, and then the SOLDIER just starts going after your pokemon themselves. They are their own 7th pokemon

3. Obscure headcanon Vincent

He's Wutaian. He's Wutaian he's Wutaian he's Wutaian. Half, to be precise, as his father was clearly not. I don't know how this is even an obscure headcanon at this point because he so clearly is (to me) that it baffles me that it's not the widespread theory.

Also I could be wrong but that seems highly unlikely as I have never been wrong ever in my life.

3. Obscure headcanon Genesis

Unlike many kids who get singled out for their hair color or other physical traits they have no control over, Genesis always loved his red hair and refused to feel weird or othered about it. No one else had red hair, so it was clearly an indicator of something special about him. He was prettier and more unique than them, so they were naturally jealous, which motivated their remarks. He believed it so firmly, that the attitude in Banora began to shift toward seeing red hair as a rare and desirable gift, rather than something weird to be mocked (it did help that he was the child of the most influential and wealthy people in the town).

Angeal always loved Gen's red hair, but he kept that to himself, because all the boys that approached Genesis immediately complimented his hair, and it stripped the uniqueness and sincerity out of what would have been a very heartfelt statement about the thing that he adored so much.

15. Worst thing they’ve ever done Vincent

Vincent was a Turk, so he's certainly done some very morally questionable things. For example, disposal of witnesses. Shinra has a strict policy of leaving no evidence of wrongdoing whatsoever. It was up to the Turks to clean up whatever mess had been left behind, in the wake of the most recent PR disaster waiting to happen. Vincent knew that going in. It was part of the job, and if he couldn't do the job, he shouldn't have signed up for it. Once it was done, it was done, and you moved on to the next assignment. Guilt and regret would only lead to hesitation, in the future, and impact your performance. He understood all of that.

It's just that…some of those kids were probably too young to even understand what was happening, let alone remember and tell anyone. Was there really no other choice?

15. Worst thing they’ve ever done Genesis

He did kill his adoptive parents, but he doesn't feel the least bit bad about that, so it doesn't count.

However, in a moment of anger, as a young First, he called Sephiroth a pathetic orphan and told him being the best at fighting wouldn't bring his parents back. Sephiroth just looked thoughtful, and then nodded in agreement. The boy's quiet acceptance of his cruel but not-untrue jab haunted Genesis for years afterward. Sephiroth claimed not to recall the incident, but insisted he wouldn't have been hurt by such a patently accurate statement, anyway.

19. Vices/bad habits Vincent

Vincent smokes!!! Or, more accurately, he did. A long time ago. Most of the Turks take up smoking, to calm their nerves or kill time on shitty stakeouts, or just to socialize with the others. It's pretty much endemic to the job. Vincent was no different. That's why he isn't bothered by Cid's smoking in the least, and actually rather likes the comforting familiarity of the smell. He doesn't smoke as a habit, anymore, because nicotine has zero effect on him, rendering the activity pointless from that standpoint, but he will smoke a cigarette with Cid ever so often, from nostalgia. Sometimes it's nice to pretend to be alive again.

19. Vices/bad habits Genesis

He has a terrible habit of getting riled up, in the moment, and saying the worst/cruelest/most dramatic thing possible. He doesn't mean it, usually, and he's not actually a cruel or vindictive person—and it's not like he hasn't tried to rein it in, he has! But he literally can't control his tongue when his anger runs high (he certainly has an undiagnosed executive function disorder). Without fail, he winds up saying something nasty again, and then regretting it yet again. He always apologizes sincerely and tries to make it up to the person, but they're not always appeased by yet another after-the-fact mea culpa.

In the case that it's too late to apologize…well, those words just echo in his mind, forever, like an ugly litany, memorializing everything he regrets.

I'm so giddy about the way they decided to re-introduce Elena's character in the new trailer because I was worried at the idea they would take the route of doing what the fandom (who don't read the novels) mostly perceive her with: a comic relief due to her klutzy tendencies & her crush, who constantly need to be hand-held by the boys in the group to the point the fandom interpreation render her as a shy or genki girl/ almost swap her personnality with other female characters as if she was a blank state.

But the devs instead decided to follow throught how she was depicted in the compilation: A flawed, fierce, unapologetic woman from the slums coming from an emotionnally distant family, who was the top student of military school while working in a bar in Wall Market prior joining the Turks ( who used to belittle her all the time, mind you) for the sake to gain people's approval, to prove that she's better than her sister and doesn't hesitate to beat up & torture people in front of their sickly relatives. her gung-ho attitude create a mutual frustration in the group, even Tseng doesn't really get an hold on her.

She also can be competent as she was the top student of the military academy but also did some significant contributions post-OG: She is the one who managed to have Midgar's population mostly evacuated post-Meteorfall, she is the one who goes to ask questions to people during investigations, she is the one who maintain a cordial relationship between the towns around Healen's Lodge by proposing & organizing the distribution of medicine to Rufus & then goes looking for the materials & employees necessary for its production. She is the one who find the Jenova's remains in AC & get them to Rude & Reno before going back to fight the remnants to help Tseng. She was in OG the Turks with the most powerful stats as well.

She's not a character you can swap with Cissneï (like some people apparently hoped?) We don't get to skip or not her boss fight this time. She is re-introduced as her class of origin: a martial artist (instead of giving her a gun like in AC). She is an actual threat & even Rude this time warn the party about it. Which I hope will be kind of omnimous story-wise as I think Avalanche & the Turks may become more & more aggressive toward each other throughout the story.

I think we're also gonna see interesting dynamic in the group, as since she's the newbie with an inquisitive & active side, she may be the player eyes into the dynamics & conspiracy in Shinra.

I also think it's the first time we see a Turks get that violent with Aerith & we know that Reno, Rude & Tseng cares about her. Among the group, the one who is never show feeling sorry about being a Turks is Elena.

I hope Rebirth will finally bring justice to her, with her qualities & flaws. She is as important as her comrades within the structure of Shinra & I want it to be explicitly acknowledged in the story.
