Chanel Paris Fashion Week: spring 2024 collection

This feels like an homage to the original Chanel silhouette and texture which is wonderful to see the instant recognisability of the brand strength.

This tweed texture and two piece suit structure is integral to the Chanel branding and is almost in complete contrast to everything else we have seen on the runaway this season. Particularly not as dramatic or structural.

However, it’s is stunning to see the reflection in femininity this collection holds as well as the layers of tulle and pastels and beadwork which are highlighting this theme.

I feel there are also references to the ‘coquette’ movement current internet trends are showing. Which I find that perhaps is an attempt for the younger generation to reclaim their connection to girl hood. As a collection, Chanel manages to capture the essence of elegance and the ballet scene.

Additionally, the silhouette of the iconic Chanel Bride look is absolutely stunning. I love the way the train flows behind the model as well as the tulle shoulder piece and sleeves which creature this attention to the upper silhouette.

This is such a stunning collection in summary. Especially due to being a spectacular, and unexpected theme which is more gentle and softer than anything else on the runway this season. Truly the epitome of a Parisian beauty.
