Hated the roster for young avengers (2013) so much that I searched for better candidates.

Like for example these guys here! Like this is basically a young avengers team already, covering even some legacies that the original team didn't.

I know I don’t do comics much anymore but I fail to understand why Marvel would replace a Champions roster that is full of excellent, well-established heroes with completely new characters especially considering the last Champions run was just within the last few years

Okay but what if the Wiccan series and the search for Tommy is a prequel of sorts for the Young Avengers/Champions project and he meets some of them on his way. I mean, Kate and Kamala are already forming the team and live basically next door to him. America has the Kamar-Taj connection and has met his mom (+him from another reality). Riri is going to deal with the supernatural and Mephisto in her show. And Viv is probably going to be introduced in the Vision show and is his half-sister. That's a decent team. Add Cassie and Tommy and you've got yourself an epic lineup.

So yeah, I'm thinking the search for Tommy might set up their team-up.
