Bile rose in his throat at the very thought. Lucien kissed Cas’ cheek before leaving his seat at his table, squeezing her hand in reassurance as he parted. He would beg if he had to; he had promised her that, after all. Pride was the deadliest sin he possessed, but he wouldn’t let it be the reason Cas perished. He couldn’t let her die. Crossing the room to find his sire seated between Stefan and Caroline, Lucien bent down and whispered in the older man’s ear. “We need to speak. Now.”

"I'm afraid that I am going to have to ask you to repeat yourself though," he shrugs only a tiny bit apologetic. "You see, when you barge into my home unannounced, I generally am not too focused on what you are saying." He moves away from the balcony and further into the room, setting down his glass so he could pour one for Kisa. He picks up the crystal filled with amber liquor and holds it out for her to take, as a peace offering. "Why don't we start over?"
