Tell me what y'all think of this headcanon:
CCs get their own quarters, but sometimes they'll sleep in an empty bunk in the barracks.
It's an unspoken thing. CC will check the logs and see which squad might have a space open, which happens on occasion. Regs say that clones can't be swapping bunks and rooms all the time, but this is one of those things that a command clone is kind of above.
Getting your own quarters is a privilege. The privacy is novel. The silence can be unbearable.
The clones spend almost their whole lives falling asleep to the sound of their brothers breathing. So sometimes a commander will bunk with a squad. I headcanon that after Teth happened and the 501st went from a formidable foe to just six men, Rex and those six men all slept in the same barracks.

Ciel does not see Sebastian as his father.
Tumblr media
He is actively repulsed by the idea and Yana has shown this explicitly at least twice: once in the Circus Arc and again in the Murder Arc.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I know there’s a significant segment of the fandom who genuinely believes that Ciel wanted to have Sebastian to replace his dead father, but I disagree strongly, not only because of the above, but also because Yana has shown us that OC was much closer with Tanaka than Vincent.
Besides, if you look at the revisited contract scene from ch 138, it almost seems as if Ciel is not thinking of replacing Vincent when he makes the decision to accept Sebastian’s offer, but in fact is looking for a new protector to replace RC, his dead twin.
It’s impossible to talk about this moment without the gorgeous full-page series from the chapter.
Sebastian offers the contract. Ciel recalls his brother promising to protect him. He gazes out at his brother’s corpse and realizes that his only way forward now is through making a pact with the demon. His brother’s soul is gone already, as is his life.
So Ciel becomes his twin. He takes Sebastian on as his new shield for his revenge. Sebastian may be someone that Ciel relies on, but he is absolutely not his new father figure.

[From the TLJ novelization]
Fixating on this again, because it's so interesting. Like I said in this post, Hux appealing to 'brute force' kinda seems counterintuitive at first glance, because Hux is very intellectually-focused and the antithesis of physical force if anything, and we tend to associate brutality with physical force. But really it's very fitting for Hux, because Hux's methods are absolutely brutal, e.g. Starkiller and his child soldiers program. They lack grace and nuance, his plans revolve around solving problems through sheer force. He is intellectually brutal. So Hux certainly has an appreciation for brute force.
And yet... Who's the first character that comes to my mind when 'brute force' is mentioned? Ren, of course. And despite his apparent appreciation for brute force, Hux absolutely loathes Ren. The irony skips right over his head.
Supported with this quote from Abrams, there's this clear parallel with Ren being the picture of spiritual and physical brute force, and Hux being the picture of intellectual and ideological brute force.
And Snoke is purposefully keeping them at odds with one another...

it will never not be funny to me how delighted gale is at the prospect of breaking into another wizard's tower and snooping around.
although i do also wish there'd been more to this than the small window into gale's past the protag gets when gale recounts a story from his first year as a blackstaff apprentice.
there should be so many things that hit too close to home for gale. not just the outward, with lenore's love for literature and poetry, the magic still scattered around, but also the vast sadness and loneliness clinging to this place. the loneliness that made lenore give bernard the ability to hug. all those things that he himself faced and speaks of briefly during the tiefling party, as well as the boat scene in act 3.
Tumblr media
i'm happy we got at least something - and that it was a memory that made gale laugh - but there was potential here too, to speak of loss and grief and isolation.
i think the loss scene that was sadly cut in the full release version of the game - either as it is or slightly edited - could have worked very well here.
