So, I have this great MDZS Office!AU idea. I don't think I have the attention span to write it fully so I'll just post it on here, see if maybe I'll write it someday.

Wei Ying starts work at Lan Corp in some creative department, probably after getting fired from Yunmeng (if we are including all the family drama). He loves the place, loves his colleagues, but he abhors his senior (like, the direct department head). Dude's an a**hole, criticises everyone and everything for no reason, and is especially fond of the female employees.

WY hears from his colleagues that many employees have undergone sexual abuse from him before, but none of their complaints to the HR got through so most of them quit. Our boy is furious, but there's not much he can do about it as a newbie, so he keeps quiet.

But then, one of his female friends at the office gets groped in front of him. WY confronts the senior in the middle of the office in front of all the staff, and asks him to apologise to her. The guy's flustered, and very angry because no one ever had the courage to call him out before, so he first rejects the accusations violently.

Then, when he realises he is stuck, he says some pretty abnormal sexual things concerning WY to his face, thinking it'll redeem his position in the argument, but boy, was he expecting WY to deck him in the face.

The dude falls to the floor, his nose is bleeding, and he crawls back a considerable distance away from WY, gets up, makes a threat (which is weak because he sounds like a duck with the broken nose), and bolts.

WY is immediately cheered and applauded by all his colleagues, but my dude is freaking out because of the possibility of him losing his job due to this. There was no way he's going to apologise, and the HR's obviously gonna be no help. So, he does what any sane, normal person would do.

He rings up the fcking CEO.

He explains the entire thing as calmly as possible (which is not much, obviously), and the CEO actually agrees to look into it! WY is reassured for the time being, so he prays for his career, and goes to drink some coffee.

When he returns, everyone is panicking and running around, and one of his colleagues tell him, "Dude, go to the main office immediately. Hanguang-jun's here."

WY walks to the main office with shaky legs, hoping he gets to keep his job. He opens the door, and the employee who was groped publicly is already sitting there, along with two of her friends, and the senior with a badly patched-up nose.

And the most handsome man he has ever seen in his entire life, right in the middle of the office.

WY resists the urge to swoon, and bows and introduces himself.

The handsome guy (the CEO, who they called Hanguang-jun) makes him sit, lets him and the girls talk, and fires the senior within the first fifteen minutes. After he has kicked him out of the office, he gets up from his seat, and bows to all four of them and apologises for "the inconvenience and mental distress that they must have faced, and that he and the company would happily assist them in filing legal proceedings against the ex-senior office head."

Then he leaves.

WY has never been so attracted to someone in his entire life (not love yet, people, it's just a crush —he doesn't even know the guy's name yet). He immediately shoves that feeling down, because this was his boss. So he forgets about that, and thanks the great gods for letting him retain his job, and for letting him have such a great boss.

The very next day, WY is promoted as personal secretary to the CEO.

1. Hello! o/ I'm looking for a fic I saw last year on ao3 but couldn't read it, then when I looked to read it I couldn't find it.

I think the description said that: Wei WuXian and Jiang YanLi decide to run away together with Jin Ling, and after 13 years since they left the cultivation world, Lan JingYi finds them by chance.

I can't remember if the tag(s) or description says A-Yuan is with them or if the Wen Remnants survived and ran with them. But I'm sure the action takes place after Jin ZiXuan dies and Wen Qing is probably dead and Wen QiongLin is captured and imprisoned by the Jin Sect (Not so sure about the last part with Wen Qing and Wen QiongLin).

I also think the Wei Ying | Wei WuXian/Lan Zhan | Lan WangJi tag was also at relationships (I think, not sure).

“Lan Zhan! Lan-gege! Oh wait, you have an older brother, so I guess you’re Er-gege! Lan-er-gege! Look at me look at me!” Wei Ying, the Marketing manager flailed around his desk as if he had nothing better to do. He probably didn't, having charmed all his coworkers into waiting on him hand and foot.

“Work hours are not the time to be messing around,” Lan Wangji muttered, loud enough for Wei Ying to hear. The manager ignored him in favour of pulling out a suspicious-looking container from his bag.

“Look what I made you! It's gingerbread cookies because CEO Lan once spoke about how you liked them. I even sprinkled them with icing sugar just the way you like it!” 

All around him, Lan Wangji heard his subordinates groan. As a finance manager, Lan Wangji delighted in his limited day-to-day human interaction. He knew his subordinates shared the same ideals because the first time Wei Ying strode into that room to introduce himself loudly, one of his employees was startled so badly he fainted.

Lan Wangji didn't like stereotyping, but for once he wished Wei Ying paid attention to the tense atmosphere and forced civility between their departments. After all, it was a well-known fact that the Marketing and Finance departments rarely got along despite their collaboration being the thing that kept firms going.

“Aren't you going to try it, Er-gege? Don't worry about being polite, I made enough for everyone!” 

More groans were heard as the accountants and auditors began shuffling around, trying to escape Wei Ying’s murderous cooking. It was no secret in the firm that Wei Ying had no cooking skills whatsoever; the man was talented in the art of ruining things so badly that rumours about him making the company’s microwave explode ran rampant. The Finance department was in agreement that Wei Ying was sent by Marketing to put an end to their rivalry by means of murder. Meng Yao’s cunning smile every time one of them looked nauseous post-Wei Ying was all the more reason for them to tread carefully.

Lan Wangji would've put an end to the gossip mill if he hadn't been the first to fall victim to Wei Ying’s bad cooking attempts. Many in the office wondered if Wei Ying lacked self-awareness or if he was sadistic and thrived on others’ pain. Some even bet that he was a mafia enforcer in his previous life. But regardless of everything, Wei Ying would always come bearing some culinary nightmare or another on payday. No one knew why he just wouldn't stop, and frankly, Lan Wangji had stopped racking his brain over that mystery too.

Thanks to lwj's unsurprising talent for organization and his surprising knack for creating space to network, ST was able to get the funding it needed and wwx was able to put his focus on his projects.

He really couldn't have done any of it without lwj, and now at ST's 10 year celebration he means to commemorate lwj for all his help with a plaque in his honor, to go with all the other ones lwj keeps on the wall behind his desk.

They all proclaim him as LAN ZHAN THE BESTEST FRIEND EVER.

Lan Wangji loves them almost as much as he hates them.

Because you see lwj has harbored a crush on wwx since their very first meeting during a heated debate in their entry level environment sci class.

A crush is putting it lightly. He's known he's been in love with wwx for the past decade. Why else would he drop out of his prestigious university against his family's expectations to work as Wei Ying's secretary? For Wei Ying, of course.

Wei Ying's ideas from the very start were unfounded and actually realistic, able to settle debates about clean energy from all sides in ways that made both happy while still being good for the environment. It wasn't fair that his ideas would have to be shoved away because of a lack of money. Lwj couldn't do that to him, to the world.

So, the day after Wei Ying dropped out, so did Lan Wangji

He's spent the last ten years taking care of the tasks Wei Ying could not, so that he could focus on his inventions and marketing them. They made the perfect team, with LWJ happily working behind the scenes to keep the operation organized and running smoothly, and Wei Ying at the the front charming investors and launching his business off the ground.

Lan Wangji doesn't mind his secretarial duties, he used to find solace in them, in fact. Knowing he could take care of the small things so that Wei Ying could put his brilliant mind to use, it was all the satsifaction he needed.

Until now, that is.

He's put his life and career on hold for so long. He has his own dream of creating his own start up, and he can't keep playing the secretary role forever.

And more importantly he can't handle his heart breaking with another plague about their undying friendship, and just their friendship, again.

So, on the night of ST's 10th anniversary, as he drives wwx home (he only trusts himself to get wy home safely; he will need to work on that) he tells him is quitting, putting in his 2 weeks notice.

Wwx thinks he's joking. Is Lan Zhan quitting some secret smoking habit? A prank?

He laughs and laughs, but lwj doesn't laugh with him. His grip tightens on the steering wheel and he looks straight ahead at the road in front of them.

Oh, Wei Wuxian realizes. He's serious.

The rest of the drive is uncharacteristically silent though the tension cuts.

Lan Wangji stops in front of Wei Wuxian's home, providing details about his plan for offloading his duties in the coming weeks in short clipped sentences. He's already scouted the secretarial department and selected a promising woman named Luo Qingyang who will take his place nicely and he thinks will fit wwx's rather eclectic style of running his business.

But wwx doesn't want anyone to take lwj's place. Lwj had been his partner for so long through all the devastating hurdles and endless nights working. How can he possibly go on without him?

But he will, he has to. Because Lan Zhan wants to leave. So he swallows his tears and smiles, as wide as he can make it stretch.

He says good, and he thanks Lan Zhan.

He holds that smile in pretty plastic place, all through his goodbyes, even as he chokes up when he says his usual farewell, "See you tomorrow Lan Zhan"

Then he goes inside his home, and and collapses into choked sobs right there in the entrance as he hears Lan Zhan drive away.

On the last Thursday (12), an anonymous account on Weibo leaked photos of Lan Wangji and influencer Wei Wuxian on a high-end restaurant in Thailand, in what appeared to be a date.

Earlier this evening (20), the Lan Wangji's official Weibo account published a note announcing his engagement.

Lan Xichen, Lan Wangji's older brother and current CEO of Cloud Recesses conglomerate, has shared pictures with the couple in his personal account in a show of support. As well as the Jiang siblings, Jiang Wanyin and Jiang Yanli, together with the Jin heir and Jiang Yanli's fiancee, Jin Zixuan. Fashion Designer and heir of Nie Security, Nie Huaisang, had a different approach and shared a selfie with a caption saying he's, supposedly, the one who's going to design the couple's attire.

Wei Wuxian got his fame through social media, sharing pictures and videos of tourism and local cuisine, as well as vlogs of his life and tips to get discounts on expensive places. Getting more noticed when befriended Nie Huaisang, going to clubs and bars together in recent videos.

We tried to contact Lan Wangji's uncle and former Cloud Recesses' CEO, Lan Qiren, but haven't received an answer until the closing of this article.

Her husband is Jiang Corp. currently CEO, Jiang Fengmian's former right hand and rumored to be his half-brother, who left corporate life to get married.

Wei Wuxian is their son.

Although he is known as a social media influencer, few has the knowledge that he has a master's degree in engineer, and has patented various things throughout his life. Starting university when still a teenager and meeting his fiancee, a freshman at that time, in the music club later on as he was already a senior, close to graduate.

Wei Wuxian, following his grandmother steps, helps the less fortunate, giving free classes during summer, and paying the school fees of orphans.

Baoshan Sanren's youngest child wishes to remain unknown to the public, as they are still young.

Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji's wedding is supposed to be a quiet and intimate affair, with only their loved ones present. We wish the couple a happy marriage.

I'm trying (and failing!) to find a WangXian fix I read years ago on Ao3.

From what I remember, Wei WuXian was a Captive of the Wen and kept in a high tower where is tortured and chained with a small window and Lan Zhan also gets captured and put in the same cell of Wei WuXian.

Lan Zhan is there when the Wen soldiers drag Wei WuXian away for torture and they bond. Later Lan Zhan finds out Wei WuXian is a Phoenix and the Wens want his tears. Wen Qing and Wen Ning are his only friends.

Wei WuXian helps Lan Zhan escape and Lan Zhan has to convince the cultivation world to save Wei WuXian but by the time they reach the Wens, they see that Wei WuXian lost control of the Phoenix and Lan Zhan calms him down amidst the fire.

I also remember the fic mentionimg that a Phoenix meant Goodluck.

8. thank u so much for all u do! i actually have two fics i’m searching for! i remember reading both in 2021 so i believe that narrows things down!

A) first one is canon divergence from qiongqi path, i remember that wwx almost dies but puts his consciousness into a paperman and his body is somewhat preserved by wen qing till they can find a way to heal him and then transfer his consciousness back but they pretend he died to the other sects (i remember they even go check his body) i remember the wen remnants go to lotus pier pretending to be related to ppl from yunmeg and jzx survives. the whole mess with mxy and the summoning array happens but it fucks it up a little since wwx isn’t actually dead and he becomes something like a spirit/ghost for a while and ends up meeting lwj by accident when he’s taming mxy back to lotus pier. they manage to heal his body and he transfers himself back in and they all live happily ever after.

B) the second one is a fic in a fic series of wangxian having more children and being very domestic that includes past lwj changing places with present lwj for a day and he basically spends the day with wwx, they go farming he helps with the kids, they see lsz for a time, unfortunately that’s all i can remember from it.

9. Hello! I am looking for some help to find a fic. It's a story where Wei Wuxian becomes the ruler of afterlife essentially. All the characters who died before him are there but he has no memory of his past. The only way to get his memory was to go to earth and retrieve them(?). The last chapter I remember is MXY calling him, allowing him to return to the earthly realm.

Thank you for the suggestion but that is not it, unfortunately. The one I'm looking for starts out with Jiang Yanli and Jin Zixuan being in this after life city. They had to struggle for a bit because there death offerings(?) were delayed. Wen Qing was a doctor in the town and helped heal Jin Zixuan from an injury at one point. The reason everyone's offerings were delayed was because there was a new Ruler, who ended up being Wei Wuxian. He had absolutely no memory of anyone, but allowed Jiang Yanli to visit him. He would hear a song (Wangxian) played as a tribute(?) but didn't know who played it.

I lost a Twitter threadfic! I could have sworn I saved it, but either I accidentally deleted it or the author did. And they were about to update it too!

It was about WWX who, during the first Burial Mounds siege, was transformed into a rabbit, and now lives as an immortal bunny. Now it's modern times and he's been rescued by a reincarnated LWJ, who is about to leave for college (veterinary) and doesn't remember anything about his past life. WWX is wary of him at first (he thinks that LWJ was amongst those who led the siege), but he eventually warms up to him and manages to tell him the truth using a computer.

13. I was reading a great fic and then Tumblr updated and ripped out from me when I was only in chapter two! Devastated. Its world building at its finest, you are not folks directly what's happened or happening. WWX is the proprietor of Yiling Garden, a cafe that offers sanctuary. Mo Xuanyu arrives in the first chapter seeking sanctuary from the Inquisition. Lan Wangji arrives, saying he's sanctuary and there for Mo Xuanyu, but WWX assumed he was inquisition at first. They have not seen each other for years. Clearly something happened to separate WWX from everyone he loves except Wen Ning, who works for the shop too, and had been raised from the dead. For unknown reasons, Wen Qing is elsewhere and happy. Wen Yuan is mentioned, but WWX doesn't know what happened to him. There are phones so it's a modern au. And... That's it. Tumblr died right after Lan Wangji asks WWX out for dinner. Help! Thank you VERY much! @lurkdot

I have a fic finder request - I remember it was a harry potter au where wwx has been gone from lwj's life for 13 years. he came back (as an animagus?) as a black rabbit and lwj was a professor at hogwarts. lwj takes care of rabbit wwx and then jgy comes with aurors at the end of the fic to attack hogwarts and lwj fights him. I seem to have read a summary or a review of a wangxian fic and can't recall if it's from this blog so i am putting in a request for help in finding it so in that summary it was mentioned that wangxian had travelled to a village and met a lady on bank of the sea but she was actually a sea monster/creature don't exactly remember what and she consumes hearts of her victim and LWJ becomes her target but he distracts her by tell her his and WWX's story while WWX tries to save LWJ as the body of the victim comes to shore after a week or so don't remember much or more so I hope this suffices also it was most likely to be a multi chapter fic with less than 10 but more than 3 chapters and that it was probably on ao3 . They had accepted that they might, in all likelihood, never go home again. The way voyages into deep space went these days, they were already signing away years of their lives to delve just a bit further into the unexplored galaxy.

Still, these orders are from the top. These are Wen Corporation ships, equipment, and uniforms, crafted with Wen Corporation money, and the request for each of the branch companies’ best aspiring spacefarers to crew this latest exploration mission had come from Wen Ruohan himself.

“Which means we won’t have to deal with Wen Xu and Wen Chao for years!” Wei Ying had laughed when the news came down to them.

Jiang Wanyin had yelled at him, but he had seen Jin Zixuan and Nie Huaisang exchange a nervous look: they all know that there’s a reason the CEO’s heirs are keeping their feet safely on solid ground. Whether that ground is Terran, Lunar, or even Martian (Wen Corporation facilities loom large on all of them), it doesn’t much matter.

Still. They have jobs to do, reputations to uphold, and families to protect. So here Lan Wangji is, dutifully taking his turn to type up the sol’s observances on the ship’s official log. Back in school, his and Wei Ying’s essays had always looked worlds different, despite both earning perfect grades. Now, as in the middle of nowhere as it’s possible to be, there’s so little out here to talk about that it’s hard to tell their writing apart.

In a moment of weakness, his eyes flick towards Wei Ying’s workstation at the other end of the short corridor: what would he see, he wonders, if he booted up that computer and looked in Wei Ying’s personal log? Surely it isn’t so empty as his own, but there’s the question of what it might say...

Fortunately, he’s stirred back to Earth (in a manner of speaking) by the only voice he’s heard clearly all day calling: “Hey, Lan Zhan…”

“Mn?”

Wei Ying trailed off, and there’s no response to his very clear inquiry: he wants Lan Wangji to quit working and come over to him. He tries not to think too hard about that, either. It’s only human instinct to want another human close by in such circumstances. Nothing more.

summary: an absolute blast. many povs, many crimes, and many characters converge in the night before the xuanli wedding, ft. betrayal, car chases, petty vengeance, kidnapping, fistfights, manipulative crying, lost phones, getting blackout drunk, awkward getting-along prison time, and gay awakenings there are four works in this series, and I think they’re all great except the last one - it’s a bit generic, not a comedy, and not super in-character, but that’s okay since it’s fairly discrete anyway. highly recommend the first one - nhs is a treat. this is loosely based on the hangover, which I’ve never seen, the author has apparently never seen, and which you need no knowledge of. either canon, except for xy - see below work issues: none, but the way xy is treated requires a note. he’s closest to his novel self, but he’s also relatively harmless? like, he’s this weird destructive teenager apparently much younger than xxc and sl, who are like, babysitting him as his parole officers or something. certainly not the quasi-romantic manipulation that’s featured in cql author issues: none

summary: god, this one is so funny. modern AU wwx and lwj, both fabulously wealthy and famous, meet by chance without realizing who the other is. for various rather silly reasons, they both assume the other is barely scraping by and then independently commit to appearing poorer than they are to avoid embarrassing the other with their fabulous and unreasonable wealth. really funny. these guys are completely out of touch with reality work issues: none author issues: xiyao, or else their other one would be in this section too

summary: not technically a comedy, but quite lighthearted and silly nonetheless. while out nighthunting, canonverse lwj finds an exceptionally intelligent black spiritual cat in the forest who helps him defeat a yao, and adopts him. turns out that cat is a cursed wwx, and attempts to break the curse commence. it’s kind of hornier than interested in the tender romantic feelings, but the get-together was really nice and fun and I liked it all quite immensely. short and satisfying. lwj’s small but significant connections to his mom were very sweet. and they hang out with a some brothel workers in a really lovely chapter quite jiang-friendly, to the point where some of the author notes had me screaming bc no, myu would actually hate wwx whether jfm was dead or not?? anyway, a good time. and just to clarify no, it’s not bestiality. either canon but more towards cql bc of the jiang treatment imo work issues: none author issues: feminized wwx and nhs, pansexuality...just general annoying choices in their other fics
