My first procreate dream animation. I even played around with sound design. So please turn on sound.

The mission was supposed to be simple. 

Protect the tech-team while they repair the security unit. A stroll to the village's border and staring into the forest with his sternest guard demeanor. It was supposed to fucking simple. The unit's malfunction had been reported within the hour, within two hours they were there. All geared up and ready to work. Nothing should've even been close to the border. Not that quickly!

But it did. 

And it was hungry.

I made this after seeing Haley Heynderickx live in Pasadena a few months ago (and of course I didn’t post it until now haha). 

I made it trying to incorporate the whole album ‘I Need To Start A Garden’ but I seem to have gravitated towards the song ‘The Bug Collector’. During the show she mentioned that a new album is in the works (which is why I only have one photo haha), an album which resonates with her life now. Her music is so beautiful, complex, and inspiring and I’m just so excited for it!

Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell *4.7/5 - the craft is just awesome. I had favourite sections and I had favourite people (shoutout to Sonmi, Sixsmith and Robert Frobisher). The tingling anticipation when I realised the sections would run backwards back to the start - yum. The threads connecting the stories through time; the mix of genres - ugh, so good.

Normal People by Sally Rooney *5/5 - I stayed away from this one during its peak, opting to read Conversations with Friends instead, which I loved. I still carry a lot of it with me, and for subject matter, I would probably pick it over this one; except that this is a perfect book. It does what it sets out to do so, so well.

It is one of the secrets in that change of mental poise which has been fitly named conversion, that to many among us neither heaven nor earth has any revelation till some personality touches theirs with a peculiar influence, subduing them into receptiveness. - George Eliot, Daniel Deronda (opening inscription to the book)

This is about those relationships that change you, connect you to another person in an immovable way, and mark you for life. I love the unapologetic awkwardness, the leaning into the, often, devastating turn of events, that is so true to life.

Happiness Falls by Angie Kim *3/5 (ebook) - went into this for a taste of mystery. It's mostly okay, a quick read, was thinking about Eugene for days after. There are ups and downs, some enjoyable, pacy bits but it left me unchanged, and worse, nonplussed.

Day by Michael Cunningham *3.2/5 - I've read some of Cunningham's work - The Hours, Flesh and Blood - both of which were five star reads. I didn't think this was a masterpiece, it read more like a writing challenge, as if Cunningham is still experimenting with Virginia Woolf's Mrs Dalloway, churning theme and structure to differing results. The characterisation is a great strength, giving life to an otherwise unremarkable book. What is undeniable is the writing talent. I wouldn't mind reading any of his work, ever. Bonus points for finishing this in a Day. sorrynotsorry

1. Name Changes

- Trophy Race: Champions League has been renamed to Trophy Race: Land's End. (This reverts a previous change that removed Land’s End in approximately October 2021. Land’s End was originally introduced in September 2020.)

- Champions Shop has been renamed into Land's End Shop.

2. Shop Changes

- Cookie Costumes previously sold in the shop have been replaced by Costume Bundle Tickets.

- Please look forward to the new special rewards waiting in the next season!

3. Map Changes

- The Ancient Forest Altar map has rotated out and is replaced by the Spooky Scary School map.

- In order to calculate the optimal Combis for the rotated map, Dr. Wasabi's Combi Generator will be temporarily disabled. (Estimated to return June 2)

CHAMPIONS LEAGUE

1. NEW SEASON

- Champions League is back!

- Champions League is a seasonal mode that opens Thursday 4:00 PM (GMT+9) the first and third weeks of a season, where you run in 3 arenas and compete against other runners.

- In Hydrangea Season 1, the first season, the following applies.

- Season 1 begins with the update.

- The Congratulate section features the Top 3 runners from the final season of the previous Champions League.

- The Congratulation Rewards for Season 1 default to the basic rewards. (Starting with Season 2, the Top 3 runners choose the rewards.)

2. GRAND CHAMPIONS LEAGUE

- Grand Champions League Invitations are now available as rewards from Champions League.

- Previously only runners who finished Top 10% of Champions League were able to obtain invitations, but starting this season all runners within the Top 20% are eligible for invitations.

- Participating in the Grand Champions League without an invitation instead requires 10,000 Crystals.

- The Grand Champions League schedule will be released at a later date.

1. Dr. Bones Cookie

- Increased points for Red Recovery Jellies (+700,000 Red Recovery Jelly Points, Level 5)

- The destruction points gained during Spinach Giant Mode are now shown added to regular destruction points gained

- Fixed an issue where the Blast Mode effect of Chili Jellies was not affected by Blast Mode speed increase buffs as intended

- Fixed an issue where the Magic Candy effect lasted shorter than intended during the effects of Spinach Jellies and Chili Jellies

- Increased destruction points during Spinach Giant Mode (+900,000 Spinach Destruction Points, Level 15)

- Fixed an issue where if Centipede King collected Jellies before they regularly should have been obtainable, no points would be given as a result.

6. Cream Unicorn Cookie

- Fixed an issue where if clouds collected Jellies before they regularly should have been obtainable, no points would be given as a result.

7. Roguefort Cookie

- Fixed an issue where certain explosive effects would incorrectly destroy searchlights during the skill

PETS

1. Caterpea

- Increased points for Pea Jellies (Pea Jelly Score - 400,000 Points, Level 15)

2. Paper Boat Sailor, Bunsy

- Fixed an issue where the cooldown would increase with each skill activation

TREASURES

1. Flowering Can

- Slightly reduced cooldown (14.6 seconds)

- Increased points for Flower Crystal Jellies (Flower Crystal Jelly Score - 2,007,500 Points, Level 12)

2. E-Z Camera

- Photos taken will now always appear at the same height on the screen

3. Trial List

- The runner in 1st place on a New Cookie Cup's Hard Mode leaderboard will now be displayed.

- For New Cookie Cups without Hard Modes, the runner in 1st place of the Normal Mode will instead be displayed.

NICKNAME CHANGES

- Changing your in-game nickname is now free, down from costing 990 Crystals.

- When you change nickname, you must wait 90 days before you can change it again.
