Greetings from the Cookie Run: OvenBreak team.

Champions League has returned, together with the newest Cookie addition—Potato Cookie (and pigtatoes)!

Here are the details of this latest update.

1. POTATO COOKIE & SEEDY

- Potato Cookie: Rides a pigtato and harvests Potato Jellies!

- Seedy: Creates Potato Sprout Parties.

- Pigtatoes: They deserve a hug.

TROPHY RACE: LAND'S END

1. Name Changes

- Trophy Race: Champions League has been renamed to Trophy Race: Land's End. (This reverts a previous change that removed Land’s End in approximately October 2021. Land’s End was originally introduced in September 2020.)

- Champions Shop has been renamed into Land's End Shop.

2. Shop Changes

- Cookie Costumes previously sold in the shop have been replaced by Costume Bundle Tickets.

- Please look forward to the new special rewards waiting in the next season!

3. Map Changes

- The Ancient Forest Altar map has rotated out and is replaced by the Spooky Scary School map.

- In order to calculate the optimal Combis for the rotated map, Dr. Wasabi's Combi Generator will be temporarily disabled. (Estimated to return June 2)

CHAMPIONS LEAGUE

1. NEW SEASON

- Champions League is back!

- Champions League is a seasonal mode that opens Thursday 4:00 PM (GMT+9) the first and third weeks of a season, where you run in 3 arenas and compete against other runners.

- In Hydrangea Season 1, the first season, the following applies.

- Season 1 begins with the update.

- The Congratulate section features the Top 3 runners from the final season of the previous Champions League.

- The Congratulation Rewards for Season 1 default to the basic rewards. (Starting with Season 2, the Top 3 runners choose the rewards.)

2. GRAND CHAMPIONS LEAGUE

- Grand Champions League Invitations are now available as rewards from Champions League.

- Previously only runners who finished Top 10% of Champions League were able to obtain invitations, but starting this season all runners within the Top 20% are eligible for invitations.

- Participating in the Grand Champions League without an invitation instead requires 10,000 Crystals.

- The Grand Champions League schedule will be released at a later date.

BALANCE ADJUSTMENTS & BUG FIXES

COOKIES

1. Dr. Bones Cookie

- Increased points for Red Recovery Jellies (+700,000 Red Recovery Jelly Points, Level 5)

- Added Combi bonus for Bone-afide Multivitamin Jelly (+146,000 points for Pill Jellies)

2. Spinach Cookie

- The destruction points gained during Spinach Giant Mode are now shown added to regular destruction points gained

- Fixed an issue where the Blast Mode effect of Chili Jellies was not affected by Blast Mode speed increase buffs as intended

- Fixed an issue where the Magic Candy effect lasted shorter than intended during the effects of Spinach Jellies and Chili Jellies

- Increased destruction points during Spinach Giant Mode (+900,000 Spinach Destruction Points, Level 15)

- Fixed an issue where the targets would appear too close to the Cookie

5. Centipede Cookie

- Fixed an issue where if Centipede King collected Jellies before they regularly should have been obtainable, no points would be given as a result.

6. Cream Unicorn Cookie

- Fixed an issue where if clouds collected Jellies before they regularly should have been obtainable, no points would be given as a result.

7. Roguefort Cookie

- Fixed an issue where certain explosive effects would incorrectly destroy searchlights during the skill

PETS

1. Caterpea

- Increased points for Pea Jellies (Pea Jelly Score - 400,000 Points, Level 15)

2. Paper Boat Sailor, Bunsy

- Fixed an issue where the cooldown would increase with each skill activation

TREASURES

1. Flowering Can

- Slightly reduced cooldown (14.6 seconds)

- Increased points for Flower Crystal Jellies (Flower Crystal Jelly Score - 2,007,500 Points, Level 12)

- Slightly reduced Combi bonus points (+292,000 points for Flower Crystal Jellies)

2. E-Z Camera

- Photos taken will now always appear at the same height on the screen

- Photos will now always be the same size (Affects Jelly Collection/Obstacle Destruction Hitbox)

3. Trial List

- The runner in 1st place on a New Cookie Cup's Hard Mode leaderboard will now be displayed.

- For New Cookie Cups without Hard Modes, the runner in 1st place of the Normal Mode will instead be displayed.

NICKNAME CHANGES

- Changing your in-game nickname is now free, down from costing 990 Crystals.

- When you change nickname, you must wait 90 days before you can change it again.

NSR Halloween DLC ideas, just in time for Spooky Night!

The soundtrack for the Halloween DLC would feature instruments associated with the holiday being incorporated into the songs, such as pipe organ and theremin.

The Bosses

DJ Subatomic Supernova

DJSS is a scarecrow, wearing a straw hat, flannel shirt, and denim overalls (cut-off, of course!).

For the battlefield, the background of the Planetarium is a deep orange. The planets he uses to attack are replaced with pumpkins, and the asteroids are replaced by a swarm of crows.

Sayu

Sayu is a cute ghost girl. (I felt it would be fitting since she’s a floaty character.) She's slightly translucent and sports a ghostly wisp-like tail rather than her regular mermaid tail. Her colour palette features off-whites and faded pastels, making her look more etherial.

Sayu wears a tattered white Victorian/Lolita-style dress, lacy cuffs around her wrists and a little bow on her head.

For Phase 2, her dress becomes poofier and more elaborate as small ribbons resembling tentacles appear around her waist. Her trident is completely white.

Phase 3 has her go full-on ghost bride. Her dress has a huge multi-tiered skirt, her hair is adorned with a long veil, and her tentacle ribbons have grown to full length. Her deep-sea mode has her face turn glowing green with solid black eyes, making her resemble a spookfish, while her “tentacles” feature flickering lights similar to a bioluminescent jellyfish.

Her final form is basically your stereotypical bedsheet ghost shape with her legs sticking out the bottom.

Sayu’s team are dressed in dark wizard-like robes, and each of them are wearing masks like the ones worn by Lock, Shock, and Barrel from The Nightmare Before Christmas. 

For the battlefield, the “landscape” is dotted with jack-o-lanterns, tombstones, and dead trees. The background is changed to a seafoam green color, with wispy little ghosts flying about.

Yinu and Mother 

Yinu is dressed as a cute little witch. Her hair is in pigtails similar to her Christmas skin, and her witch hat is adorned with fall leaves and little jack-o-lanterns.

Mother, meanwhile, is a spooky Halloween tree with spiders. Her dress is a dark wood colour with translucent, ragged-edged sleeves, and she wears a thorny hairband and spiderweb earrings.

The ends of her “hair” have been dyed the same colour as her dress, and she wears both black lipstick and black nail polish.

When she grows bigger, her branches begin to sprout large thorns, which end up making her cage form look more like a spiderweb. (There are even little fake spiders sitting on top of it!)

For the battlefield, the stage is decorated to evoke a bountiful harvest, with pumpkins, hay bales, bundles of wheat, stalks of corn, apple trees, cornucopias, and garlands of leaves.

Both the gate and the giant piano hammers are adorned with thorny branches and autumn leaves.

1010 

1010 are pirate ghosts. (As a fun gag, Blue could wear two eyepatches instead of his sunglasses!)

Meanwhile, Neon J is their ghostly captain, complete with a captain’s hat, a sword at his belt, a fake parrot on his shoulder, and – once again – a fake beard attached to his screen head.

For the battlefield, the flying limousine is decked out to look like a pirate ship, with a mast, a crow’s nest, and a tattered sail.

(I felt 1010 as pirates would be fitting since they're a navy-themed boyband and Neon J was a captain in the navy.)

Eve 

Eve is dressed as Medusa.

Her dark green dress has a scaly pattern, and she accessories with a lot of gold, including spiralling gold sandals and a golden diadem crown.

Her hair has been dyed, shaped, and styled to look like several little writhing serpents.

Her backpiece is composed of even more snakes in gold and teal which wrap around her upper torso and spread out behind her like a peacock’s tail.

Eve’s pupils even become snake-like starting at Phase 2!

For the battlefield, Eve’s gallery has been transformed into an Ancient Greek temple, but with a postmodern/vapourwave twist. Stylized Greco-Roman columns with snakes wrapped around them line the walls, and an ancient looking gold chandelier hangs from the ceiling. The left side would be eggplant purple while the right side would be cerulean blue.

If the player gets hit by the eye lasers from Eve’s giant statue, they’ll actually turn to stone and be frozen in place for a short time.

For Phase 2, on Mayday’s side, the snakes wrapped around the columns have grown larger and are now looming over Mayday, their faces twisted into angry snarls (representing Eve’s derisiveness and hostility towards May).

Meanwhile, Zuke’s side features floating fragments of ruined columns (representing how lost and incomplete Eve felt after Zuke left her). 

Phase 3 is where it really starts to get trippy. Both rooms feature ruined columns and floating shards, along with giant brightly colored snakes slithering all over the background.

The shards in Zuke’s side reflect images of faces screaming in anguish, while the shards on Mayday’s side have limbs protruding from them- one shard has three legs protruding from them in reference to a trinacia. (Look up what a trinacia is to understand the reference!)

Tatiana

Tatiana is a vampire.

She wears black and red robes with bat wing-edged sleeves and a wide collar. Her earrings are coffin shaped, and she has small, pointed fangs that can be seen when she opens her mouth.

At the beginning of her battle, she starts throwing flaming bats.

For the battlefield, Tatiana's office/battle arena is made to feel like a vampire’s castle tower.

The whole room is lit with a deep red glow, and the tall windows that feature the NSR murals are topped with pointed arches, giving them a Gothic look.

You can even see some glass bottles filled with (ahem) red liquid on Tatiana’s desk.

Meanwhile, the Goolings' stage outside is decorated with jack-o-lanterns and hanging skeletons.

DK West

DK West is dressed as Frankenstein FrankenWest!

His look consists of neck bolts, stitch markings, and a dark ragged recolour of his original outfit.

His bull shadow puppet has matching neck bolts, which even emit shadowy electricity when it appears during the battle.

Bunk Bed Junction

Mayday

Mayday is dressed as an imp, wearing a bright red dress with black sleeves and waistcoat, black wings, red horns, and a red tail.

Her guitar is deep purple and splattered with glowing orange paint. It emits a wolf howl when she powers it up for the Showstopper.

Zuke 

Zuke is a werewolf. Ragged clothes with fake fur poking out, extra fur attached to his forearms (don’t ask how got it on there), pointed ears, a bushy tail, pointed fangs, his nose has been painted. Pretty simple.

His drumsticks are splattered with glowing green paint and tipped with tiny light-up pumpkins.

The Other NPCs

Ellie has little bat wings attached to her back and wears a springy bat antenna headband.

And last but not least, 

Kliff . . . is just wearing a pair of Groucho Marx glasses. Yup. That's it.

Trick-or-Treat!

The boy got a bit of a glow up, and the design is courtesy of Zanza. A pumpkin headed Jack-o-lantern of a scarecrow, the representative of the end of the fall harvest, and the festivals that follow. A demon who thrives on the bountiful feasts and whose head lights the path for souls around him to come home.

i come from a farming state where the harvest fests always took place out in the middle of nowhere, under the hot, hot sun. think pumpkin decorating, costume contests, petting zoos, and more! 👻my games get wordy, but i hope you enjoyyy!

challenge Seokjin to a round of bobbing for apples (he claims his large mouth is superior but you don't go down without a fight!!!) OR agree to keep track of how many apples Jungkook can get (but lose count while resisting the urge to pat his butt. it's right there!!!) 🍂 hold Hoseok's hand while walking through the corn maze (it's marketed for children but he's still afraid.) OR build a scarecrow with Yoongi (he even brought some of his old flannels to use!) 🍂 dress in couple's costumes with Jimin (the Barbie/Ken to his Ken!) OR let Namjoon paint your face at one of the activity booths (he did a cat nose & whiskers, and you can tell he wants you to paint him next.) 🍂 wander with Taehyung while he helps a lost child locate their parent (you come up with fun songs along the way.) OR hold onto the goat snacks for Jungkook while he feeds them from his palm (this way, your hand stays slobber-free!) 🍂 decorate pumpkins with Hoseok (he's hoarding all the glitter paints!) OR mummify Namjoon with several rolls of gauze (everyone is amused by how many you end up using just for his thighs, alone!) 🍂 cheer Taehyung on while he plays classic carnival games & performs feats of strength (with his sleeves rolled up, ohh la-la!) OR make flower crowns with Jimin (you hope he will want to exchange them, and you match the flowers that you pick out to his outfit.) 🍂 go apple & berry picking with Yoongi (all the while planning what to bake with your bounty) OR ride the "haunted" hay ride with Seokjin once the sun sets (he thinks it's funny to try to startle you, but he also keeps an arm draped over your shoulder.)

some more silly rogues’ headcannons I thought of! Thank you everyone for the validation on the last ones, it made me smile! :D

- they all have a Minecraft server together that's utter madness! Riddler has perfected redstone and he makes puzzle riddle traps in game, it drives Joker INSANE. Ivy goes around planting giant trees and flowers without asking. And Bane has a nice little house and no one dares ruin it, it brings him so much joy.

- Scarecrow always has chapstick on him, it's mango flavored

- Riddler has a tamagotchi, he will cry if it dies. If you're the goon that has to watch it while he's in Arkham, be scared.

- Harvey still posts on his Twitter, Twoface has an invite only after dark account. He just reposts memes everyone else has already seen and overshares random personal information and middle school level poetry. Also Harvey & Twoface are currently in a four year long tweet war about an episode of Law and order

- Out of all the rogues, Joker owns the most shoes. He has a storage unit full of racks of different tailored costumes, shoes, and makeup. He wears an expensive french brand of makeup he has to ship to Gotham, and he doesn't do any crimes without wearing his lucky lipstick brand

- Scarecrow loves animal crossing, his island is decked out and Halloween themed. He hosts parties with the rogues on his island

- Riddler set up a VPN & free cable/wifi for all the rogues to use so they can stream whatever, but you have to answer a riddle to get the password. Joker hates it but he also needs to watch the new criminal minds reboot before Harley spoils it

- one time during a party, the rogues managed to convince a very drunk Harvey & Twoface to sing/reinact songs from phantom of the opera and later jekyll and hyde (Twoface is emotionally a theater kid)

- Harley and Twoface get really into murder podcasts together one time while in Arkham. Even after they all break out, they video call after new episodes drop to talk about it. One time they tried to do a podcast but it turned out Joker did the crime so like it wasn't much of a plot twist

- Harley streams her crimes sometimes & actually makes some sick side cash off it! Half the time her chat is just obsessing over her interactions with Ivy. Also Ivy is one of her top donors

- Catwoman is TikTok famous, she posts story times, how to do simple parkour and pick locks, and hauls from crimes. All of her money from sponsorships and stuff goes to charity (she gets sent a bunch of free cat food for her cats, it's awesome!)

- Joker scrapbooks, he did it for a gag originally but low key got into it and now he may or may not have a scrapbooking room. He tries to go to Michael’s incognito but like, everyone knows.. The employees are like “yo, the Joker is at the help desk asking about if we have batman scrapbooking decals? Do.. Do I ask if he wants to sign up for the rewards program? Is he allowed to sign up?” Yes he signed up for the rewards program

- Joker also often signs up for various rewards programs but when he doesn’t want their emails, he gives them scarecrow’s email. Scarecrow has a bounty for whoever stops the man signing up ALL his emails for the Chilies newsletter

- the rogues throw Harley a roller skating lasertag party, where they also learn Harvey can't skate to save his life. He's the dedicated party mom that's standing at the railing about to fall down while he cheers on the others doing tricks and he's in charge of everyone's coat at the table. Joker uses all of his tickets to buy bouncy balls and sticky hands. Catwoman is a god at laser tag, she nearly gave Scarecrow a heart attack when she dropped form the vents to snip him. At the end of the party, they all steal Harley the go kart that's worth like 10,000 tickets. Batman shows up to Harley doing donuts in the parking lot while all the other villains are fighting with sticky hands and bouncy balls

- Bane likes camping and takes all the rogues in hopes to get camping buddies, they all almost die out in the woods because it's a disaster but also he had a great time! The Joker brings a camera and the whole time is making dated Blair Witch jokes with Scarecrow, which Harvey doesn't find funny and not because he's scared of the Blair witch.. Riddler screams running off into the woods because of a bee "chasing" him, no one sees him until three weeks later when they remember that they forgot him in the woods. Clayface uses a survivalist persona/character the whole time they're out there but he knows nothing about survivalism, eating poisonous berries and telling them poison ivy is a healing herb. Ivy is probably the only one suited for camping and she has to make sure most of them don't die

- Harley collects pins! She has a pin board in her hideout. The other rogues give her pins they find/obtain around Gotham

- The Joker has spent 3 years trying to perfect confetti smoke bombs

“Cheerful place,” You drawl as you peek out the viewport at the waterlogged planet that Mij was bringing you to. “I like the lack of sunlight, it brings real atmosphere to the place.”

Mij rolls his eyes as he sends a landing request, “You don’t have to stay long, just long enough that I don’t have to worry about you falling apart like a scarecrow.”

“I’m fine.” You say automatically.

Mij arches a brow and reaches over to poke your side, causing you to double over in pain, “No, you’re not.”

“Well, yeah, of course it hurts when you poke me,” You say as you blink the pained tears out of your eyes, “Jerk.”

Mij brings the ship down to the landing pad, and watches as the droids scurry around securing the ship, “I know, I know. I’m sorry.” He pauses, “Listen, do you know Jango Fett?”

“You mean the most well known and dangerous bounty hunter in the galaxy? The Jango Fett that everyone who walks on, let’s say, the opposite side of the law knows and recognizes on sight? That Jango Fett?”

“Yeah.”

“Never heard of him.” You say with a grin.

Mij shoots you a look.

“Relax, pretty boy, I’m on the up and up. I work for Maz.” You lean back in your seat with a pained groan, “Everything’s technically above board and all.”

“Yeah, how did you manage to snag an employee contract with Maz Kanata anyway?” Mij asks.

“Don’t worry about it,” You reply vaguely.

The doors to the ship slide open, and heavy boots stomp of the loading ramp, “I was wondering why the Red Robin was landing here.” Jango Fett drawls from where he’s standing in the doorway.

“If you drip water on my floor, Fett, I’m going to send you my cleaning bill.” You call over your shoulder.

“Well, for that I’m going to intentionally drip water all over your floor.” Jango replies as he moves into the cockpit, and he glances at you, “Wow, you look like shit.”

“Shoo. Go away. I’m injured.”

Jango shoots you a dismissive look, “Mij, what happened to your ship?”

“It blew up, and she was kind enough to fly to my rescue.” Mij replies with a shrug.

“And what happened to you?” Jango asks, flicking his gaze over to you.

“The Hutts take offense to someone, maybe, interfering with their slave operation.” You reply, “So they sent Trandoshans after me.”

“Huh. I’m surprised you’re not dead.” Jango mutters.

“See, this is why you don’t have friends, Fett.” You grumble right back at him.

“I’ll take you off my Life Day Card list,” He counters with a roll of his eyes, “She can stay, but only for a little bit.”

Mij gets to his feet, and helps you, painfully, to your feet. “Yeah, yeah. Don’t worry so much, I’ll handle it.”

Jango rolls his eyes again, and moves to your other side to help you off the ship, “Honestly, if it wasn’t for Maz-”

“Children, play nice.” Mij says with a sigh as he pulls the hood of your jacket over your head, and then the three of you step into the rain. 

With Jango’s help, Mij gets you into his apartment and settled on the couch. And once Jango leaves, muttering something about having a job in Republic Space, Mij crouches in front of you.

“So…welcome to Kamino.” He says wryly.

You gaze at him silently for a moment, “I wasn’t going to ask with Jango right there, but you can’t expect me to say nothing about the actual army of identical teenagers-”

“Jango was hired to be a template for an army,” Mij says, “And I was hired to teach some of them how to be medics.”

You suck on your teeth for a moment, “This is karked. An army for who? Mandalore?”

“That would make sense, wouldn’t it?” Mij replies dryly, “But no…an army for the Republic.”

You stare at him, hard, “The republic isn’t at war, Mij.”

“Give it a couple of years.”

“Mij-”

“I know. I know.” He stands and pulls a first aid kit from under his bed, “Jango called me, I couldn’t not answer. Shirt off, sweetheart.”

With his help you peel your jacket and shirt off, allowing him access to your injuries, “So, what, you’re teaching a bunch of kids how to be soldiers? For a Republic that Jango doesn’t believe in?” You sigh, “Maz was right, this situation is karked.”

Mij’s hands pause against your side, “Maz knows?”

“Maz is kriffing omniscient, Mij. Or have you forgotten?”

“I must have,” He admits with a laugh, before he returns to tending to your injuries.

“Shouldn’t you be wearing gloves or something?” You ask him, after a moment of feeling his warm fingers sliding against your side.

“Yes. I am.” He replies.

You focus your gaze on his head, “I can see you’re getting right on that.” You say sarcastically.

His cheeks darken slightly, and he very pointedly doesn’t reply to you.

You grin at him, “Aww, Mij. Do you like touching me?”

Mij reaches up and lightly presses his hand against your cheek, “Angel,” He murmurs, “Can I kiss you?”

You smile at him, “Took you long enough to ask,” You lean into his touch, “Yes, you can.”

He surges up and crashes his lips against yours, his hand sliding from your cheek to the back of your neck to hold you closer. “Stop being so smug,” He mumbles against your lips.

“Make me.” You reply, as you wrap your arms around his neck and slide your fingers through his hair.

Mij chuckles, “Maybe when you’re not injured, cyare.” And then he kisses you again, much deeper than before.

The horse would definitely be a character. "Lea, that's silly" We have Bat-Cow. Next question. Actually fuck it, invite Bat-Cow too. Can't be cowboys without cows.

I stand by my earlier remark about how Penguin should be a oil baron/business tycoon trying to level the town for... Idk take your pick. Oil, gold, laying out the railroad... He fits that part so perfectly.

Lazarus Pit was definitely found while mining and the mining town turned into the League of Assassins (I don't know if I'd keep that name in a cowboy story, but they're definitely a cult worshipping this magical pit they found, because tbh what else are you gonna do in a mining town lmao.)

I don't know what to do with Joker... Or Riddler for that matter... Scarecrow DEFINITELY fits with little alteration, Mad Hatter could fit if you followed his 60s iteration and leaned out of Alice in Wonderland and into hats specifically (I mean... c'mon. Hats are a big deal to cowboys, they're basically their sunscreen) Catwoman still works, of course.

And then of course, what the artist of the Harley and Ivy art was cooking there. Perfect, 10/10 lmao.

Odd bird

(Inspired by this post because bounty hunter Crosshair has been living rent free in my head for more than a year and I need the fics)

Slipshod groaned and leaned back against the rock at his back, giving up all hope of getting back to his feet anytime soon. The blaster wound in his side turned out to be a bigger nuisance than he initially thought and he cursed the damn natborns that’d been tasked with chasing them down.

Their aim was absolute Bantha shit. Yet that somehow made it worse when you were looking for a quick death rather than bleeding out in a rocky desert with a mouthful of sand and a headache of a wound to make it painful.

As far as desertion went, they could have handled it better. He was sure Trap and Duster had made it though he didn’t dare hold out hope for the three shinies…

Some things were better left unknown, he decided.

He coughed, spitting out a mouthful of blood, and turned to glare at the figure looming over him like some persistent service droid.

“Where is the base you escaped from,” the figure drawled, monotone, and he bared his teeth in a snarl at the shiny black bucket.

“Why would I tell you?” He spat out another glob of blood and watched as the bounty hunter didn’t even twitch, staying rooted the ground where he at least provided some shade from the setting sun.

One last accidental mercy for the dying trooper. As the silence stretched on, Slipshod put on a grin and tried his best to look down his nose at the man even though he was the one sitting on the ground.

“You’re the one they call Vulture, aren’t you?” he sneered. “So what’s the deal here? You’re here to pick up stragglers? Circling the Empire to trade their scraps back to them for small change?”

As before, the hunter didn’t respond and Slipshod was left squirming on the ground in his pain.

He was getting tired of looking at the man’s faceless bucket. It was a shiny black color, much like the rest of the guy’s leather ensemble, and there was this eerie avian quality to it when one looked past the droid-like features.

The guy was good at branding, Slipshod would give him that.

His eyes roamed over the tall frame and the occasional odd armor piece, and he frowned to himself as he considered it.

Any other day, Slipshod would have been able to take him. The guy was scrawny, practically a scarecrow, though Slipshod knew the thing to watch out for were the two A-180s tucked in twin holsters at his waist.

“Where is the base,” Vulture interrupted his thoughts again, voice raspy as all hell even through the vocoder.

Someone was definitely a smoker…

His tone was flat and Slipshod couldn’t suppress a shudder, still venturing to wonder why this maniac thought he would give him directions to his own prison.

Although… if he would cooperate and somehow reach the base alive he may get another chance to escape. Another chance to live. It stung, to be so desperate, especially in the face of someone so callous but Slipshod hadn’t spent his life cooped up on Kamino and then on this desolate rock only to be put down like a dog at the end of it.

Maybe if he gave this kriffer what he wanted he wouldn’t be presented to the Empire with a blaster bolt hole though his skull.

He sucked on his teeth, trying to suppress a scowl.

“It’s two klicks from here, northwest through the canyon. You can’t miss a building that ugly.”

The jab at the end was obligatory and he didn’t feel any regret when it made him cough up more blood, causing his bones to rattle and the damned wound to flare up. He gave it some time to subside, though he expected for Vulture to move or shoot him any moment now, now that he had the directions he was asking for.

Instead what happened was him nearly jumping out of his skin when a medpac landed in his lap and Vulture’s skinny legs disappeared from view as he marched back to the speeder parked not too far behind. Slipshod stared at the pac, blinking at it like an idiot.

Then the sound of an engine reached his ears and he watched the hunter speed off into the canyon, the only signs of him ever being there being some boot prints and a cloud of dust.

He almost thought the whole thing was a joke but when the medpac didn’t explode and the echo of the speeder engines grew fainter, he tentatively picked it up and began daubing the bacta inside over his wounds.

A quarter of an hour later he was bandaged up and he’d managed to get to his feet, feeling well enough to attempt the trek to the nearest city where Duster and Trap were supposed to be laying low.

The bounty hunter hadn’t crossed his mind throughout it all but then an explosion reached his ears and he looked up to see a plume of smoke rising into the air, suspiciously close to where he remembered his base being.

Limping on his way to the city, he couldn’t help but wonder what kind of part the man had played in whatever fate had befallen the base.

“A karking odd bird…” he muttered to himself and laughed at his own joke, shaking his head.

He only regretted Duster wasn’t there to roll his eyes at him.

Part of him asked himself if it was even worth telling his batch mates what had happened though he supposed being saved by the infamous bounty hunter sounded more plausible than him running back to the base and blowing it up in a blaze of glory.

Knowing them, they would give him shit for his story either way.

(Yes, bounty hunter Crosshair uses A-180 blasters because they can apparently be reconfigured into a sniper rifle and that's so Crosshair not to mention cool as heck. The choice isn't set in stone but I quite like it for now.)

I was going to draw my Jervis tonight, but I forgot my things in my grandma's place, so have a few headcanons instead (featuring scarecrow+penguin)

•Jervis' father was a psychiatrist in Arkham

•His mother was a patient in Arkham because people were too scared of her power

•Like Jervis, his mother could mind control people, however, if either of them started using their powers too much, they lose their cognitive abilities and their grip on reality

•His father managed to get his mother out of Arkham before they eventually got married and had two kids: Jervis Tetch and Alice Tetch

•Jervis' father was found dead in their home while they were just children, and their mother was labeled the culprit for the crime, leading to her being sent to Arkham again, where she remains to this day

•Jervis knows that his mother isn't guilty, and he wishes to prove her innocence one day

•From there on out, Jervis raised his sister on his own until he eventually ended up in the Falcone foundation, thus joining the mafia

•In the Falcone Foundation, he met Penguin, and they became best friends

•Since Jervis was a pacifist who hated using his power, his role in the foundation was that of a nurse

•Oswald would protect Jervis while Jervis took care of Oswald's injuries

•While they lived in the Foundation, Alice ended up getting badly hurt during a gang fight. Jervis blames himself for it

•Inspired by his father, Jervis became a neurologist thanks to both Carmine Falcone's and Jonathan Crane's help

•Oswald and Jervis fell off during college because of plot reasons, and Penguin never forgave him for abandoning him

•Jervis Tetch is asexual (and so is his husband, Jonathan Crane)

•Jonathan and Jervis actually got married before they started dating for the benefits of marriage

•Eventually they did get together together though

•Jervis doesn't like killing people and avoids doing so as much as he can (unless he gets corrupted by his power)

•Jon's fear toxin is one of the only things that can break Jervis out of his "corruption" mode after he uses his power too much

•Jervis has one of the highest bounties in Gotham City due to his powers and goals despite being one of the least violents in the city

•This has also led to many nasty rumors being spread about him, all of which are false

•He doesn't have a favorite color and has different top hats, one for each color of the rainbow+ black+ white

•He began using his name and dressing as he did in honor of his sister. Alice in Wonderland was her favorite book, and after their father's death and they began living on the streets, pretending to be the mad hatter was one of the ways he found to make his sister less scared

•Jervis is one of the kindest, most caring people in all of Gotham who was genuinely given a terrible hand. He does have a tendency to get pushed around and be more passive, which is why he surrounds himself with more active people who take a more leading role, like Penguin and Scarecrow

Harvest Day/Day of Grapes and Grains

The Day of Grapes and Grains, also known as the Harvest Festival, celebrates the beginning of the harvest season in Sol Fertilis. 

Farmers prepare their best produce for the festival in the morning. They arrange baskets and crates filled with freshly harvested fruits, vegetables, and grains, which are often displayed at local markets or designated areas in the town square. In both Neo-Pagan and Catholic counties, Beta Neutral farmers play a role in the religious or spiritual aspects of the day. They bring offerings from their harvest, such as wheat sheaves, fruits, and vegetables, to place on altars or in front of churches. On this day, alewives play a significant role in the celebrations by giving away wine to all ranks in churches. 

Festival shows include theatrical performances by local theater groups that celebrate the harvest and local legends, as well as concerts featuring traditional and contemporary music. Barbecues and picnics are common, with families enjoying grilled meats, fresh salads, and homemade desserts. Larger community picnics are organized in parks, with communal tables and shared dishes. Traditional folk dances, circle dances, and line dances are performed, inviting everyone to join in. Evening dance parties with live music take place in public squares and parks, extending the celebrations into the night.

Religious and spiritual observances play a significant role in the Harvest Festival. Churches hold special services to bless the harvest and pray for a bountiful season, with attendees bringing offerings of grains, fruits, and vegetables to place on the altar.

In Neo-Pagan communities, rituals involving the symbolic sacrifice of crops or animals are performed to honor Ceres Gaia and ensure a successful harvest. Incense is burned, and prayers are recited to give thanks for the abundance and seek protection for the coming months. Grain-based dishes like various bread, pasta, and grain salads are prepared using freshly harvested ingredients. Drinks include local wines and beers brewed from the harvest, and freshly pressed grape, apple, and pear juices are served, particularly to children.

Towards the end of the meal, there are final toasts. In Neo-Pagan counties, the toasts may involve traditional toasts to the gods and goddesses of harvest and fertility, such as Ceres Gaia, Venus Bellona, and Mars Sol. In Catholic counties, toasts might be directed toward the saints, or God, thanking them for the blessings of the harvest. Alewives and other key figures often lead these toasts, sharing words of gratitude and hope for the future.

Following the feast, a large bonfire is lit in a central location. This fire symbolizes the burning away of the old season's remnants and the welcoming of a new cycle. Around the bonfire, people gather to sing traditional songs, dance, and share stories. The music often includes a mix of folk tunes and contemporary favorites, played on traditional instruments like lutes, flutes, and drums, creating a lively and joyous atmosphere.

Dean has a small crisis of faith at a fall festival.

Summer in Kansas was over, there was no debating that. A late-September frost had hustled in all of the usual seasonal accoutrements: sweaters and scarves, changing leaves, pumpkin spice everything, and signs on every corner in town for–

“What on earth is a 'maize maze'?”

His angel wasn't fully an angel any more, but he could still look mighty smitey when he didn't grok a piece of pop culture. Dean chuckled and reached across the Impala's bench seat for Cas's hand.

“It's a 'family fun' kinda deal, babe. Farmer carves a bunch of twisty paths in his cornfield and charges folks top dollar to tramp around in there and get lost.”

Cas's furrowed brow did not clear at this explanation. “And where is the fun part of that?”

“Most times there's other attractions. The farmer's wife sells some cookies, his kids run a few little games. It's cute.” He realized just a moment too late that those last two words had determined his Saturday plans. Cas was a sucker for things that were cute. The collection of baby animal figurines on the shelf above his side of the bed was testament to that. As if on cue...

“Can we go?”

“'Course, sunshine. Anything you want.”

Which is how Dean finds himself handing over a twenty to a gangly pre-teen in a gargoyle costume. The kid folds the bill in half, then in half again, working with the exaggerated focus only an eleven-year-old with his very first grown-up job can muster, and drops it neatly in the slot on top of the metal box in front of him.

“Welcome to the Johnson family harvest festival corn maze is straight ahead maps are here on the table hay ride line forms next to the barn hot apple cider donuts come out of the fryer every fifteen minutes please enjoy your stay thank you for coming!!” He punctuates his spiel with a fast inhale, like the whole speech takes exactly one lung full of air to produce.

Dean nods and grabs a map, shoving it into his back pocket for emergency reference only. He ambles over to the cornstalk-bedecked entrance gate where his husband is waiting. Cas is wearing a navy blue Carhartt jacket that used to be Dean's. It looks about a million times better on him than it ever did on Dean. There's a soft gray knit cap on his head, and a matching scarf around his neck. (Cas gets chilled easily now that he's 90% human, so Dean always makes sure to wrap him up nice and snug whenever they go out.)

Dean's wearing his husband's cardigan, a favor returned after Cas saw the hungry look in Dean's eyes when Cas had tried on his Carhartt. The sweater's thick and warm, but it's definitely not Dean's usual lumberjack-meets-bounty-hunter vibe, so it's making him feel a little itchy.

A lot about this moment is making him itchy, actually. He's standing next to a cheerful scarecrow that’s holding an IT'S FALL Y'ALL sign. He's dressed like Mr. Rogers and he's probably gonna go on a hay ride in a few minutes. The man-shaped being next to him is wearing his mom's wedding ring, a ring that Dean pushed onto his finger in front of a raggedy band of their nearest and dearest, promising to love him always in this world and all others. All around him he sees happy families engaging in wholesome fun and there's a skull-filling siren blaring in his brain. This is not for you, it screams. These things are not for you.

Suddenly he's about three seconds from a panic attack. His heart starts trying to punch its way through his rib cage, and he's envying that eleven-year-old his lungs full of air. His eyes dart as he tries to scope out a quiet place to hide while he rides this shit out.

“It's okay to enjoy this,” Cas whispers in his ear. “You're allowed to be here.”

Dean's heart rate immediately slows, the panic ebbing as his husband takes his hand. Grateful tears spring to his eyes and Cas brushes them away with chilly fingers.

“Damn, sweetheart,” Dean murmurs, turning to bury his face in the crook of Cas's neck. “How do you always know when I'm freaking out?”

“Still 10% angel, remember? Besides, I know you inside and out, beloved. You still don't think you deserve to be saved.”

Dean huffs a watery laugh into the collar of Cas's jacket.

“Don't deserve to be this happy,” he agrees. “Don't deserve you.”

“Well, who knows what either of us deserves,” the angel says with a soft laugh as he leans his head sideways against Dean's. “But this is what we have. I chose you. You chose me. We're here and it's a beautiful day and I love you. So let's go inside. Did I hear that boy say something about donuts?”

Dean's tears come faster after that, and he drops Cas's hands to wrap both arms tight around his love. He's gonna need a minute here, but once he's calmed down a little they are going to eat themselves sick on apple cider donuts and get lost in a goddamn cornfield and Dean is so fucking happy he's afraid he might burst.

Sir Theobald Gumbar: "I protect the King, King Amethar, and also really everyone in the castle, sort of a 24-hour-a-day job, and I love it. It’s not just a job for me, it’s a way of life. No days off, sort of every day-- just kind of a thing."

Aloysius Knight "The Black Knight": Is hired to protect scarecrow from an international bounty that was placed on his head in order to prevent him from stopping the nefarious plans of a secret coalition of powerful people. Knight is described as "scarecrow gone wrong," as his story mirrors scarecrows in many ways though more tragic, and as a result he is far more brutal. He restricts the killing of noncombatants at scarecrows request, but it's made clear that that isn't usually something he would do. Is such a good bodyguard that he helps scarecrow succeed in stopping the destructive plans before they are put in action.
