We did it folks graduation achievement unlocked >:D

#class of 2024 hs grad #okay but I feel like I just had a character growth moment tho #just last week I was avoiding all discussion about it and pretending it’s never gonna happen #putting on a stoic emotionally detached mask to remove myself from how distraught the end was making me #but then proceeding to silently cry in the car under the weight of never making connetions like this again and the inevitable struggles #then a couple days of being bitter that everyone wanted to celebrate my graduation when I wanted it to be miserable #aaaand then this week I’ve just been like ‘meh yeah why not’ lol #just totally nonchalant and treating it like an average day #but after getting some last casual conversations in there and simply chilling/hanging out with these people I’ve known #can safely say graduation was a good experience #and honestly far more pleasant then the initial heartache I anticipated for months #I mean yeah the concept of everyone I care about being ripped away from me is still enough to tense my throat #but overall I’m far more accepting of the transition and even relieved that it’s over with #especially after today and realizing ‘yeah wasn’t too bad could do again’ jksjsksp #accidentally came to terms with it in a satisfactory way in the span of a singular day how about that #and will be fine until the moment someone starts antagonizing me about getting a job 🙃#also thank you mom for taking a grainy photo resolution to save my identity hehe (was unintentional)#also this is unrelated but the amount of people who decorated their caps was incredible. Genuinely such talented people out here #they personalized the hell outta those handmade designs and I applaud the attention to detail #update #random #personal thing

Yes!! I finished it!

Today is the 4th anniversary of my wedding, and as is tradition every year, I made a drawing of David and I. This drawing, just like this year has been a bit tough. I haven't had much time or energy to work on things, so this got delayed until well... mainly today 🤷🏼‍♀️ Coincidently that's sort of been our life this year, consistent delays or pushbacks. For the past couple of months we've been in the process of purchasing our house, we're very close just dealing with the bureaucracy of it all now. Even though things have been difficult we're still doing well and things are starting to move again. In fact, we were able to bring our cat Frankie to live with us not too long ago. Overall it's been a pretty busy yet productive year. All I can say is I'm glad to have an amazing life partner to help me through the tough times and enjoy the good times.

Speaking of which we're going clubbing tonight... and I need to get ready. So... Bye!

I'm almost done with my transition paperwork. it's been nearly a year since i started. we live in an evil bureaucratic hellscape

#I've had to do some stuff thrice because apparently people either can't program or use computers properly #the actual birth certificate and id took a couple of months #everything else took forever #the bank fucked up my name on my debit card twice #they made up a whole new middle name and put it on everything #i had to complain like 5 times about that one cause it kept showing up anywhere #my uni made me wait three months to figure out how to comply with the nonbinary ids on their degrees and then harassed me for two weeks #about a picture #my name's still showing up wrong in parts of the system they use at work #because some people can't read i guess #i gotta send an email about that actually #i even had to update my name at the supermarket which i hadn't even added to the list when i started #i was just grocery shopping one day and realized the cashier was calling me by the wrong name #i think all that's left now are the utilities #and waiting for everything else to be done #like my degree needs to be signed by the usual 6838282 people now #but i can see the finish line #it was all worth it btw i love seeing my name on everything #i even had to turn in my old degree at my uni it felt like a sendoff #I'll see if i can save up and invite my friends over to celebrate #alex txt
