fuck yes fuck yes fuck yes new hunger games content, 50th games centered (2nd Quarter Quell!), focus on the idea of implicit submission, governance of the many by few, and propaganda, and FUCK those are TIMELY as she ALWAYS is and i cannot wait for another poignant as fuck political commentary and I sincerely hope that that messaging ACTUALLY gets through to the readers/viewers/reviewers who continue to ignore the commentary in her work or play it off as hyperbolic fiction in a dystopic future that will NEVER happen and not what it is— a distorted mirror of our reality, highlighting the most ugly brutal and violent aspects in gorgeous prose.

hi this is a general "myde where the fuck have you been this week??? don't you have trigun meta you're working on????" post

"where've you been?" ive been working on fics for the mashwood ship week next week (the 9th-15th) and have been deep in a fugue state of writing since getting home from work on monday. there will be somewhere between 2 and 4 fics going up, don't worry about it; im still alive, i just somehow ended up blacking out and writing two full fics and getting partway through two more.

"what's your next meta gonna be???" im gonna talk about the Vash And Wolfwood Argument in vol 2. and the Vash Crying Blood scene. then we get to volume 3! (i still also need to find out whether or not wolfwood is left handed, or if he just smokes Like That (potentially complete with pictures? idk if y'all're gonna get to see my face, but perhaps behind a cut))

"when's your next meta gonna go up tho???" give me like two more weeks ok? i gotta finish the mashwood fics and I've got at least two dnd games this week, plus im picking up my sister and we're going on a road trip from where im meeting her to my house to our parents, which is like a six hour drive altogether in one direction. i also have work because im an adult with a job. please be patient.

currently watching: Started listening to TAZ: Ethersea in the podcast category. Also been binge watching Charborg/CHRBRG on youtube because I thought he had left youtube, turns out he just switched channels, so now I'm catching up ahah Hey pardon just remembered Puppet History is back on too!

currently reading: Whale Weekly (severely behind but I think I'll get on an audiobook to catch up), Dracula Daily, and "Tribuna Negra: Origens do Movimento Negro em Portugal (1911-1933)" by Cristina Roldão, José Augusto Pereira & Pedro Varela. Picked it up when I had some hours to kill in the city and it's a theme I'd like to know more about, have been really enjoying it, very informative. Not sure if it's how a book presentation works but I might be able to get it signed tomorrow?? maybe???

current obsession: not sure actually. am on a weird period of my life i think. Barbie movie maybe? Will watch next week with some friends. Get money? Go to go to more festivals? My cats? Indie games on steam? Sorry i can't really think of anything that's been pulling my interest in particular lately.

I would like to get to know quite a few of you better but tags on my blog seem to be meh, so I'll let whoever wants to awnser these go for it!

My attempts to find a good place near me to train sword fighting once again stymied by all of them being martial arts places that focus on unarmed techniques only bringing out the weapons for special occasions and private lessons. At the rate we're going I'm just going to have to buy some manuals on the boffer club budget and start a sub committee during winter months to figure out how to reconstruct the techniques from the book cause the only people who teach this stuff are like an hour away.
