in the third captain america, Steve leaves his shield behind...

in the third Thor, mjolnir is destroyed...

by the end of the third film for all three heroes we see them lose thier symbol..

Thoughts on Joss Whedon

He is seen as a feminist because of Buffy. Buffy was very feminine, loved to shop, had a girly bedroom with stuffed animals, dated, etc, but she also kicked ass, she was super strong & a hero. Women can be “girly” and strong, women can be damsels but rescue themselves.

Take Natasha Romanoff; she had just freed herself in the end of Captain American: Winter Soldier. She had never done anything in her life that wasn’t an order, she was experimenting with emotions she had never been allowed to exercise. Yeah, she got kidnapped and made a signal that led the Avengers straight to Ultron. She was depicted as a woman, not an assassin, not a spy, but a human and suddenly that’s wrong.

Regarding the Wonder Woman script, which is what I assume the new hate relates to, it’s not been confirmed as the script he wrote. And bad writing happens, I’ve only skim read it and it looks bad, but have you seen some of the comic book movies we’ve had? lots are terrible with cringeworthy moments. I am definitely not saying the script is good; it’s not. I love Patty Jenkin’s Wonder Woman. Scripts are changed during production anyway and it was just after Batman Begins. It’s hard to write a love story that doesn’t make the girl appear soppy, even 2017 Wonder Woman she appears naive and innocent which is understandable but clashes with the classic view of Wonder Woman. The writers did amazing work on 2017 Wonder Woman, but it helped I think that the character was introduced in Batman V Superman as it created a foundation stone of a strong-willed, but kind Diana Prince. From the looks of the ending of the script he probably planned on making a sequel which would focus on Wonder Woman developing & growing as character, this being her simply being introduced to the world and finding her feet (father like the difference between Batman Begins and The Dark Night).

The script was written over 10 years ago, it was declined and we can tell why. Get over it! I am sure there are plenty of failed scripts, book plans, & fafics out there that get the feminine/hero/protagonist all wrong but hating them will not help matters, just be glad this script didn’t get accepted and move one!

A strong character does not have to be heartless. People are not perfect, woman and men show “weakness”, & in women, mistakes, emotional weakness, or romantic affections should not be seen as misogynistic writing as these things actually reflect reality.
