things have been horrible recently but now they are going so much worse.

due to budget cuts i have lost my source of income and i am struggling to stay afloat. i have sent my resume to around 150 companies, but i still got nothing.

dad says that if i have to move out i will need to sell my cat just to fit bach in their 32 sq meters 1 room flat and have any money to add to the family budget.

i love my cats and dont want to live without them as simple as that. ill die.

I'd love to one day own a Devon Rex cat. I'm a disabled man and life gets lonely. Would be nice to have a pet which asks for company. I really love their unusual appearance too, the downside is that they cost a lot. But, a dream is a dream 💙 (photo doesn't belong to me)

Whoever invented heated blankets deserves the highest honors in the afterlife of there choosing. With my cerebral palsy I’m almost always experiencing between a 2-4 out of 10 pain as feedback from my sense of touch. So any kind of “good touch” is highly valued. It’s is also why having the 2 cuddliest cats on the planet is an essential part of my mental health.

Brother with Mental Health Challenges and Cerebral Palsy Is Homeless After Landlord Illegally Evicted And Assaulted Him

Hi everyone. I’m so sorry to veer off from our normal topic of cats, but we have nowhere else to turn. On approximately November 27th, 2024, my brother was forcibly - grabbed by the sweater and tossed out - of the residence in question. This was after the landlord began telling him he needs to move immediately because he was moving a family member in.

As it stands, I live in rent geared to income housing and so does my mom, so they’re strict about not letting in other tenants other than those stipulated on the lease. Furthermore, I have my own ailments at the moment and need the room I have for my equipment and medical supplies. Right now, my mom and I are bouncing him between places. This has been hard on his mental health, he has schizophrenia, cognitively functions below his age level, and has cerebral palsy.

Right now we need first and last months rent for him because he had just moved into that place and disability only gives firsts and lasts once a month. We also need food and some things to get him setup in a new place. If you could share this or give even just $1, we’d appreciate it so much.

Advantages to being female ("AFAB").

Biological differences in being female are often discussed negatively in order to indicate our disadvantages and where and how we are exploited within patriarchal societies.

On Ovarit, there was a thread in which users shared some biological differences to being female that illuminated our strengths. While of course biological differences in males vs. females is directly rooted in reproductive evolutionary strategy (whether someone develops down a reproductive pathway geared towards an overall reproductive system that supports gestating life and creating larger ova vs. not) I thought I would share some examples of advantages not directly connected to childbirth and childbearing. This is not an exhaustive list.

We are more flexible than male people.

We have better stamina and endurance in some extreme long-distance sports in comparison to male people (such as in ultra-marathons).

Some animals (especially other mammals such as wolves, horses, cats, etc.) are instinctively threatened by males, even if they have never been harmed by them. This is not the case with women.

We have better immune systems and survive viruses better than male people.

We survive famines and epidemics overall better than male people.

We survive variations in temperature overall better than male people.

We have better sense of smell than men.

Our chromosomes provide us with extra protection against certain genetic diseases like hemophilia, and we have more genetic diversity.

We have better balance due to our center of gravity being lower, in our pelvis's, while males have their center of gravity in their torsos. This makes us naturally better at sports like rock-climbing, gymnastics, certain martial arts, etc.

"The male fetus is at greater risk of death or damage from almost all the obstetric catastrophes that can happen before birth.2 Perinatal brain damage,3 cerebral palsy,4 congenital deformities of the genitalia and limbs, premature birth, and stillbirth are commoner in boys,5 and by the time a boy is born he is on average developmentally some weeks behind his sister: “A newborn girl is the physiological equivalent of a 4 to 6 week old boy.”

Women and girls have better color perception than males.

Multiple orgasms.

We're biologically better suited to being astronauts and living in space (note: and this was discovered 15 years ago yet this work was never published)

Some articles (debatable on credibility) suggest that we are better able to withstand complete sensory deprivation for several hours in comparison to men, who were able to withstand complete sensory deprivation for minutes.

For unknown reasons, we do not experience the same percentage of macular degeneration that men do in space.

We have a different adrenaline response. Our hormone systems work differently and so we do not lose as much decision making ability and fine motor control as men do in a crisis, making us better snipers and pilots thanks to our reaction time.

We have better life expectancy overall.

Hi, I’m David, though I prefer to go by Watermelon online. My pronouns are they/them and he/him with no real preference. You might know me as Code Lerias or, formerly, Chickleader (both moreso brand names) and you also might recognize me from Foil on Canvas. I identify as a neoboy, and I’m ambiamorous, vincian and a sex-repulsed asexual.

I am a minor with Cerebral Palsy, though it’s not too debilitating physically outside of just making a few everyday movements a bit harder for me. Most of the effects are in my brain. I also have some kind of sound sensitivity, though I don’t have an official diagnosis or anything on what exactly it is. I have struggled with anxiety, depression and suicidal urges, but I’m doing relatively ok as of making this post. Also I have tulpas so that’s fun

I’d say my core belief is that you should be allowed to be whoever you want to be and do whatever you want with your life, as long as you’re not hurting anyone. If it’s something that makes you happy, go for it. Live and let live :3

I wanna introduce y'all to an oc/story concept I've had for a while now.

Oc created using the "Bright's Picrew Hell" since I am terrible at drawing.

Basically its a parody and deconstruction of an Isekai story - aka "character is teleported/reincarnated into another world" (for example KonoSuba, That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, Digimon etc.)

The main character of this idea is Sekai Ishida; a gloomy shut-in with cerebral palsy and spinal bifida who's dealing with having aged out of the foster system and finding supports for his disability. Sekai was minding his own business going to career training when;

Sekai, being physically disabled, is unable to climb out of the way of a speeding subway car when he stumbles (or was tripped) onto the tracks. He closes his eyes.

He awakens to find himself dumped through a portal to a magical fantasy world.

When the many gods greeting him in the space between worlds ask him if he wishes for a boon to bring with him into this new life; Sekai impulsively replies "Give me back my crutches."

Well shit now he's just some Japanese guy with severe mobility issues in a dnd-inspired medieval kingdom with no fighting experience or magical add-on. What's a guy to do?

Wormwood; an Aberrant demon looking for a host: "

Wormwood: "Hey you wanna-" Sekai, already fed-up: "Whatever, sure." (*shakes hand*) Wormwood: "Damn, ok. Didn't even need a sales pitch." Workwood: (*painfully merges into Sekai's body*) Wormwood: "...damn bitch, you live like this?" Sekai: "Yeah." Wormwood: "I can't even look into parts of your brain." Sekai: "Yeah those don't work." Wormwood: "Screw this, I'm finding another off-worlder for my plans." (*nothing happens*) Wormwood: "...why can't I leave?" Sekai: "HAH! You're trapped in here with me!" Wormwood, tentacles waving frantically: "I can't even move your legs!" Sekai, gestures to crutches, laughing manically: "Neither can I!" Wormwood: "You are evil."

So now Sekai has one thing going for him; an inky symbiote-esque demon thats trapped in his body that's pretty keen on keeping Sekai alive. For now.

Also, you know how the demon mentioned "off-worlders"?

Yeah. Sekai isn't the only one.

It's a frequent phenomena in the magical kingdom, to the point that there are new laws in place to deal with people that fall through.

Notably:

Report immediately to the King.

Surrender all technology and/or organics to the crown.

Any accompanying animals will be quarantined or destroyed.

If it looks like nothing fell out of a portal hole - no it didn't. Evacuate the area immediately.

Off-Worlders should avoid making deals with spirit and/or demons, as they are an untapped source of raw magical life force (Sekai: "Oops"), and can cause the world around them to glitch and break down since they're essentially aliens.

Its not always human either. Dogs, cats, birds, and trilobites frequently wander/fall in. Imagine the utter terror of villagers used to dragon when they see a saltwater crocodile for the first time.

It's not always humans or organic things that fall in though. Like in Digimon where a subway car or a fridge full of eggs would randomly glitch in.

The ultimate common denominator is people and things that have experienced "glitches in the matrix"-style disappearances and have just... disappeared back in their home time/dimension. Oh yeah, people from completely different cultures and universes can fall through too.

Sekai (and his tag-along wormwood) occassionally fall into other universes due to Wormwood's own research into interdimensional travel. It was the very reason he sought out a host - someone proven to be able to handle the trip. Sekai hates this. HATES THIS. Let him have junk food and video games again!

Had to put my best fuzzy blanket in the wash because my cat decided to puke on it at 2 AM last night, which startled me so badly I freaked out and fell out of bed.

My cerebral palsy gives me an exaggerated startle reflex I have no control over, but I'll be able to catch a baseball chucked at me at 2 AM no problem.

From time to time, my brain reminds me of people trapped on the Polish-Belarusian border (Lukashenko deceived people from Afghanistan that he would help them), the very fact that "The Lesser Evil" does not want to save these people but to strengthen the borders makes me feel sick, I didn't vote for them, I chose another party

I still remember the pro-life people who wanted to shoot these people, I remember how one of the border guards laughed at a disabled child (with cerebral palsy) of immigrants (Afghanistan), I remember the news that two women were beaten so badly by the border guards that they had miscarriages,I remember how the border guards destroyed these people's phones…

I remember a woman with her cat and people writing "Where is her cat? She probably ate it"

I remember how the media called these people aggressive because they threw stones at the border guards (Because apparently they cannot defend themselves like the Palestinians…)

So you stupid Americans, stop talking about the lesser evil, in our country the lesser evil wants to strengthen the fucking border and it didn't save these people

Many of these people died of hypothermia and other diseases, and the disgusting border guards did not allow medical help to save them, these people still have jobs and sick jobs at that (But dare you call them murderers, they are already after you)

I'm tired of hearing that the lesser evil will save people when it did nothing

Harris would not save Gaza just like KO and Tusk will not save these people

And yes, those trapped at the border were right: FUCK POLAND
