HUGE TONAL SHIFT also lots of words:
okay so i was getting stuck in a rut with how i was doing this series of comics, so i wanted to pull some inspiration from outside sources. as soon as i decided this, pinetreevilliain's comic came across my dash and there was no going back. seriously, their comics are gorgeously done.
i snuck a color palette from color-palettes as well
it definitely made drawing this round of pages way more fun
UHHHHH
i guess that's it!
enjoy!

oh a side note
i used to collect classic VW vehicles |D
i sold them all at the beginning of the year :c

Veilguard Rewrite Act One
Signs & Portends
Tumblr media
Chapter One: Tevinter Nights
Strange magics awaken across Thedas and the Divine suspects the Dreadwolf’s influence is at play. Desperate to stop Solas’ plan to tear down the Veil the Divine sends forces to Tevinter to stop him at all costs. The Inquisitor knows that if the Imperium suspects the South’s interference bloodshed will ensue. Hoping to stop this madness before it can begin the Inquisitor sends a party to thwart Solas’ plans before the Divine’s forces are discovered. Varric leads this party to Minrathous along with Rook his second in command to find their missing contact Neve Gallus.
After getting her location from the Tavern they were meant to meet her in they find the detective in the grasps of the Venatori amidst a Black Market Auction. The Auction is selling an artifact that Solas’ agents have been attempting to track down. Stealing into the vaults the crew finds many strange artifacts here being stored here including an Eluvian and the Red Lyrium idol. Varric is disturbed to find it or to think what Solas might do with it but before they can explain they are joined by others seeking the idol. In the vaults they are joined by a group of Venatori led by Calpernia and Solas’ agents. As this stand-off for the idol breaks into a fight, Reva, Solas’ second-in-command, summons the Dreadwolf to their aid. Solas arrives through the Eluvian and quickly begins taking out most of the Venatori and Rook’s team.
Thinking on their feet, Rook begins recklessly activating and destroying the magical items that fill the vault at random to mask their escape. As Rook, Varric, Neve, and Harding escape through the sewers we see a shadow of the Dreadwolf stretch across the vaults wall with the sounds of fighting echoing.
*Insert Veilguard title card here*
Chapter Two: Plan B
The destruction Rook causes allows Calpernia to escape as well putting them in another stand-off in an alleyway which is quickly dispersed by guards who are searching for them. They part escaping into the night. After fleeing through the streets of Minrathous that are now on high alert the group reaches a safehouse, also known as Neve Gallus’ apartment. In the hideout the remaining crew argues over what to do next. Neve points out that they should get back to the investigation as soon as possible while Solas’ trail is still hot. Harding believes they should report back to the Inquisitor first to give them this new information. Varric tells them to figure out the next move while he goes to find them transportation out of Tevinter leaving the choice to Rook.
The Smuggled Relic Case
Neve leads the party to Dock Town to meet the Shadow Dragons, a secret resistance group in Tevinter, for leads. Though Tarquin and The Viper have no leads on Solas they do tell Rook about a wave of slave rebellions and Venatori moving Lyrium artifacts through Dock Town. Given Solas’ previous patterns of behavior, Neve deduces that the slave uprisings are his doing. Given which Magister’s he’s hitting he must be looking for someone who knows a thing or two about Lyrium. Using a shard the Shadow Dragons give them they track the artifacts to the home of Albin Bataris, the son of a magister who has fallen in with Venatori cultists. They arrive to find Solas’ agents sneaking in through another entrance while Albin Bataris begins a blood ritual. Rook can decide to interrupt the Blood Ritual or intercept the agents.
If Rook interrupts the ritual the enslaved people that they free will ask Rook if they are with the Dreadwolf and will inform the party that Solas has been instructing those he free to travel to Arlathan forest to find a secret hiding place. If Rook intercepts Solas’ agents they will meet Reva, Solas’ ruthless second in command. They are here for a mysterious spell scroll that will aid in the plan to tear down the Veil. Though the team is too late they will find several missives in Bataris’s office that will give the crew more information on Venatori movements. They have supposedly been communing with Lusacan one of The Old Gods and following instructions to weaken the Veil through blood rituals.
Supernatural Aid
Harding brings the crew to report in with Charter an Inquisition agent. However when they arrive they find Morrigan alongside the spy. The witch’s presence alarms Harding because it means something has gone very wrong. Morrigan informs the group that The Inquisition is currently investigating what may be the start of another Blight. The Darkspawn have begun to appear where the Veil is thin. They suspect this may be the result of Solas’ meddling and remind the group of their mission’s urgency.
Rook reminds Morrigan that he’s not in charge of this mission. She replies by pointing out that Varric is not the one here and that Rook was made second in command for their penchant for daring exploits and bold plans which they now need more than ever.
Morrigan instructs Rook to seek out the Veil Jumpers in Arlathan Forest who are experts in ancient Elvhen artifacts and may have idea as to how the Lyrium Idol is connected to the Veil.
If Morrigan’s Ritual was preformed in Origins she will send her son, Keiran, with the party as a conditional Mage companion.
Away from Rook and the rest of the Veilguard we see Reva (she/they) step through an Eluvian to report back to Solas. While Solas preforms the spell to cleanse the dagger she urges Solas to allow them to take Varric & Rook off the board as a threat. Solas ignores their warnings and Reva warns him of sentimentality. He dismisses her instructing them to calling back Ishmael and their other agents in the crossroads. When Reva asks what Solas will do he is evasive something that clearly bothers the other elf but they acquiesce to their leaders request.
Chapter Three: The Dumat
Now with a new direction the team will rendezvous with Varric who has been arranging transportation for the team. Ringing in a favor from Isabella, Varric gets them passage on The Dumat, an old Lord of Fortune vessel that was stolen from the Antaam many years ago. The ship is a fixer upper but will act as the Veilguard’s home base for the first half of the game.
Chapter Four: In Entropy’s Grasp
They arrive from the sea to Arlathan Forest to find Strife and Irelin dealing with ancient magic welling up and Veil Jumpers going missing. They tell the Veilguard that the person who might be able to help them with their Red Lyrium artifact is Bellara Luttare who is one of the many Veil Jumpers who are missing. Rook & Varric split the party to go search for Bellara.
Rook finds Bellara who is eager to help but informs them that they are trapped in a Veil Bubble. A distortion of time caused by an artifact affecting the Veil nearby. After finding the artifact, The Nadas Dirthalen, and disactivating it the team manages to exit the Veil Bubble safely and into the night beyond.
Chapter Five: The End of the Beginning
They escape the Veil bubble to find they have spent too much time caught in its grasp. They find Solas already beginning his ritual in Arlathan Forest. They rush to find Varric and the others while the sky tears open. Reunited the group travels into Solas’ secret hideout that is eerily empty before coming out the other side to find the ritual site which Solas has been hiding in a veil bubble of his own.
The party fights through groups of spirits who seem loyal to Solas and his cause. Left with few other options, Varric attempts to talk Solas down one last time while Rook and the others keeps Spirits and Demons alike off his back. When the conversation takes a turn for the worse, Rook uses Varric’s distraction to their advantage. Taking a companion to knock over one of the Ritual statues Rook successfully interrupts Solas ritual. Meanwhile, the two old friends fight over the ritual dagger which results in Solas stabbing Varric. Before Solas can regain control of the ritual something escapes.
In an act of desperation Solas activates a spell that blasts them all back and knocks Rook out.
Rook finds themselves in a strange stark part of the Fade where they are met with Solas’ voice. Solas furious about Rook’s interruption begins to warn Rook about the dire consequences of what they’ve done. In the process of tearing down the Veil he was attempting to move the other Evanuris that he trapped away into a better prison— the one that they are in now. The two argue and pass blame while Solas tells Rook their interruption has bound them to The Fade. Rook refuses to hear any of this and attempts to wake up. Solas is doubtful of this but Rook strains against the magic of the Fade, finally waking up when they hear Varric call their name.

LINKTOBER DAY 2– Hyrule Castle
I have to split today’s linktober into two because there’s too much stuff to tackle. That aside, here’s some lighthearted shenanigans!
The duo’s looking for the source of the blood moons, and zelda’s finally mustered the courage (and annoyance) to poke around within the castle’s bowels. This is great, because she and link have stumbled across a goldmine of ancient murals older than even the ancient sheikah’s catalogued history. Cheers, zelda!
Patreon, if you want a sneak peak of the Shit That’s About To Go Down
Also all zelda stuff from me!

(A Short Fic About) A Normal Day With Your Double Mutated Brother
☆ Fandom: rottmnt (au by @heckitall )
☆ Warnings: Nothing!! Just fluff and the boys being silly :]
☆ Word Count: 1432
☆ AO3 Link: N/A
☆ Characters: Leo, Donnie, Mikey
Uhh so I might have written something inspired by Heckl's comics and drawings :] go check his comics/artwork out!! Hope you like it (and happy birthday!!) (Also if there is any mistake... well, lets say its because it is 1 am)
When it came to playing video games the twins would always end up getting too invested in it, which either would turn up to them fixating on the game for hours or fighting over who could beat it in “the right way”. Even when the games were two player ones, they’d still do the same thing.
Not so surprisingly, this didn’t change even when Donnie became twice his size. Instead now the boys were sitting in Leo’s room, Leo laying his back on Donnie and playing the new the Legend of Zelda game on their switch. Donnie was watching the screen with joy, his tail wagging, and at times chirping to Leo.
“See? I can do the puzzles quite well.” Leo said without looking away from the screen. “I had told you.”
Donnie chirped as a response, as if making fun of Leo.
Leo turned to him, “Just because I got stuck it doesn’t mean I am not good with them. Now let’s go back to the depths, since somebody thinks I can’t handle it.”
The double mutated turtle smirked, making turtle sounds, before noticing something on the screen and pointing.
“Wha- oh shi--!” He yelped as he moved with Donnie’s arms holding him, making various sounds in the meantime. As Leo turned back his attention to the game, bleeping as he continued playing it with Donnie commenting at times once again. Just like before Donnie’s situation, as if nothing had changed. Everybody in the lair would agree this was nice.
Neither of them was sure how long had passed when Mikey entered with a smile on his face. “Are you two still playing Tears of the Kingdom?” He asked as he approached them.
 “Yep.” Leo replied.
“It’s been five hours.” Mikey said.
 “Uh-huh.”
“Which means nobody would say anything if I interrupted you for very important reasons.” He grinned.
 “Wrong.” Leo responded.
“Don’t think Raphie or dad would agree.” Mikey said, knowing very well that he was right and the two would hear about how they shouldn’t sit down and play video games, forgetting to take care of themselves such as eating. Not to mention how Raph would take this to his advantage and get the switch for himself, not letting Leo play for the rest of the day.
The slider sighed and starred at his younger brother, knowing very well that Mikey had won. He saved his game and put the switch aside. Meanwhile, Donnie huffed from behind. “Soooo tell us about whatever that is very important?” Leo asked as he got up.
“I was thinking about how long the lair has been the same, and about how nice it would be to redecorate it.” Mikey explained.
“You’re the artist Mike, not us.” Leo pointed out.
“Weeeellll, I wasn’t only thinking about art. Remember the Christmas lights?”
Leo squinted at Mikey. “You want to decorate the lair with Christmas lights.”
 “Yes!”
 “In August.”
 “Yeah!”
 “…”
 “…”
“You’ll ignore Halloween?!” Leo gasped, a bit dramatically.
“We can have Halloween later on!” Mikey retorted. “I just want to have some bright lights around, and maybe a few other new stuffs. A colorful lair wouldn’t hurt anyone, instead it would bring joy! Also, it is for art and creativity!”
“So, you mean you want to,” Leo snickered, and his brothers knew what was coming. “Lighten up the mood.”
Mikey groaned, while Donnie growled, both hating the pun. Leo giggled at his own joke, proud of it.
“Ignoring Leo’s terrible pun for my sanity, all I am saying is it would be nice if you could help.” The youngest said.
“Eh, sure.” Leo shrugged, not that he could say no. Donnie got on his feet too, careful to not accidentally knock anything down. He was still getting used to his new size.
With Mikey’s lead they walked out, heading to where Mikey already had the boxes filled with Christmas lights. “We can start from here, and then move to the living room. Leo, can you get the lower parts done?”
“Call it done already.” The slider winked as he walked towards a box.
Mikey joined him, grabbing lights from a different box, “Donnie can you help me? I need to reach the higher parts.”
Donnie chirped as he leaned for Mikey to climb on his shoulders, just like how he did with Raph. He carefully climbed and then patted Donnie’s shoulder to confirm he was ready. Donnie churred happily, he stood up again.
So, they began redecorating the lair with the lights, leaving some walls empty so Mikey could draw on them. In the meantime, they chatted, talking about various things and unimportant stuff. Filling the silence with happy chatter. Mikey would talk about his next art projects, then mention something that inspirited him, Leo would ask about it, and the conversation would go on.
It was just like every single time they spent time together, yet it was everything Donnie could ask for. The chatter of his brothers, Mikey’s unexpected ideas, Leo’s dumdum jokes… It was comforting for him.
 So, comforting that---
 CHURRR
Leo and Mikey stopped talking, looking at Donnie with surprise and glee. Donnie confusedly looked Leo and then at Mikey. As silence was the only answer, Donnie realized what he just had done. His brothers’ exclamation confirmed his fear:
“OH MY GOSH!!!” Mikey grinned as he jumped down to see Donnie better. “DID YOU DO THAT?!”
“DID YOU JUST CHURR?!” Leo wheezed.
Donnie chirped a lot, trying his best in his situation. It didn’t help that Leo kept laughing, and Mikey kept saying he sounded like a happy cat. Maybe if Donnie was his not double mutated self, he would’ve acted cooler and kept calm. But he was not and all he could do chirping. Which frustrated him even more, resulting him running out of the room.
Leo and Mikey were quick to follow him.
Donnie had lay under a pile of clothes, most of them being his hoodies and some of Raph’s sweaters that Raph had helped him wear (and later Donnie hadn’t let Raph get them back) in his room. His tail was visible, wagging angrily.
The two brothers approached carefully, not to startle him. Mikey looked at Leo, unsure what to do or say. He was feeling a bit bad for Donnie, but he still couldn’t help thinking that he behaved like a cat. Leo wasn’t feeling much different. He knew that he shouldn’t have laughed that much, while Donnie was still upset with his double this whole situation.
Leo was first to speak, “Uh hey Dee, mind if we join you?”
 A growl.
“Aww come on, we got something to show you.” He said cheerfully, Mikey looked at him confusedly. The slider winked at him, meaning he had a plan.
Donnie didn’t leave the pile, but got his head out of it, enough to be able to see them. Leo grinned, and then chirped. Donnie’s eyes widened, surprised, and confused.
“I thought you had stopped doing it and were unable to anymore.” Mikey squinted at Leo.
“Well, maybe Donnie’s chirping has helped me figure it out, couldn’t it be?” He spoke.
Before Mikey could say anything and tell his disbelief, Donnie chirped.
Leo turned his attention back to him, “I have absolutely no idea what I am saying though, but- chirp!”
“Are you sure about not knowing what you’re saying?” Mikey questioned.
 “Chiirp.” Leo smirked.
This seemed to lift Donnie’s mood a bit though. His tail was wagging in the happy way, and he began chirping again. Mikey joined too, since he never had hidden the fact that he still could chirp. Soon the room was filled with chirping of every sort, and the snickering of Mikey and Leo among them at times when one of them made a funny sounding one.
As the boys' conversation changed with the passing time, Leo turned to Mikey. "About the Christmas lights... you're definitely up to something." He said. "Could it be a prank against Raph?"
"Please, I would never." Mikey responded, obviously guilty. He didn't need to say it to confirm Leo's guess when he happily stimmed the way he'd do when he was excited for something.
"Get ready for a surprised Raph yelp, Dee." Leo looked at the clock on his phone. Then looked at Donnie. "He'd wake up any moment now."
Donnie chirped in response, letting Leo pet his back. Something that kept Donnie relaxed, they'd discovered.
Then they heard the surprised yelp, as Leo had guessed:
 "ITS CHRISTMAS?!"
Leo and Donnie turned to Mikey, who was giggling. "Brumation prank," He grinned. "Never gets old."

Veilguard Rewrite
C A S T L I N G
Tumblr media
Tensions rise as the Divine’s search for Solas reaches a crescendo. Hoping to stop him before his plans to tear down the Veil succeed The Inquisitor sends a party led by Varric on a covert mission to steal an artifact crucial to Solas’ plans. Wanting an ace up his sleeve Varric brings on Rook— a wildcard with a penchant for daring exploits and unexpected plans. Even when their plan to get one foot ahead of the Dreadwolf goes astray Rook remains determined to thwart Solas no matter what it takes.
In their desperation, they accidentally unleash a double Blight and the tyrannical Elvhen Gods Solas was attempting to lock away. Plagued by dreams from the Dreadwolf and visions from the Fade, Rook quickly learns that disrupting the ritual has bound them to the Veil itself. Though this puts a target on their back Rook uses the strange new abilities this connection has granted them as a tool against the Evanuris.
Now all that remains is finding companions bold enough to take on any problem even the Blighted Gods themselves. As the Northern Thedas descends into chaos Rook and the rest of their party’s reputation grows as they begin to find allies in the most a unlikely places. From the depths of the Deep Roads to the Crows of Antiva to heights of the Inquistion, Rook has a talent for turning adversaries into allies. Even potentially finding a dangerous ally in the Dreadwolf himself.
Walking between worlds our hero stands on the edge of history as they race to save the world from the tyranny of the Evanuris. The truths they discover and the decisions they make will change Thedas forever. This is the time legends are born. But will you be remembered as the fool that doomed Thedas or will you join the ranks of the Heroes who have come before?
Welcome to Thedas Rook.
The Game is afoot. The board is set and it’s your move. Pawn to d4.
The goal of this rewrite is to enhance the things that Veilguard is attempting to do and enhance them. This is an outlet to explore a version of DA4 that goes deeper into the world of Thedas and its themes of oppression, faith, and the mindfxck of history. I will attempting to be adding layers to the politics, worldbuilding , and interpersonal dynamics throughout. I am using the Artbook as a jumping off point for some of the empty narrative areas of this story.
