“Why is it always ‘the bride’ of Dracula?” [Y/N] asked as he was getting ready for bed.

“Because humans are small minded and stupid.” Dracula replied, not looking up from his book.

“Gee. Thanks.” He replied. Ignoring the vampire’s arched brow as he crawled in beside him. “It’s just a little…degrading.”

“I thought you didn’t care what other people thought.” Dracula said as he finally sat down his book on the nightstand. “It was one of the things I liked about you.”

“I usually don’t,” [Y/N] told him, “but when it’s something that makes me feel like our relationship isn’t real. Like that you should be with a woman…”

“I’ve told you before. Gender does not matter to me.” He told [Y/N]. Taking his hand. “When you have lived as long as I have, things like that are immaterial. Their spirit. Their mind. Those are the things that matter. I have been with many women and many men in my long life. Now, I choose to be with you.” Dracula then kissed [Y/N]’s hand and sat it down. “Do not doubt my earnest just because others are small & stupid.”

[Y/N] scoffed. “You said that already.” He then kissed Dracula’s cheek and snuggled into bed. Comforted by his words, but also the feel of the man he loved at his back.
