‘Children Of Blood And Bone’ Film Adaptation Sets Principal Cast And Release Date

Gina Prince-Bythewood‘s movie adaptation of Children of Blood and Bone has found its principle cast in Thuso Mbedu as Zelie, Amandla Stenberg as Amari, Damson Idris as Inan and Tosin Cole as Tzain.

Also confirmed are Viola Davis as Mama Agba; Cynthia Erivo as Admiral Kaea; Idris Elba as Lekan; Lashana Lynch as Jumoke; and Chiwetel Ejiofor as King Saran.

In negotiations are Regina King as Queen Nehanda; Diaana Babnicova as Folake; and Bukky Bakray as Binta.

The film is based on the bestselling novel of the same name by Tomi Adeyemi. The story is set in an African fantasy kingdom in which a young woman goes on a quest to reclaim the magic that was violently stolen from her people. She and her brother ally with the daughter and son of the king to fight back against his brutal rule.

The movie releases January 15, 2027 in IMAX. Production is set to begin filming in South Africa in the coming weeks. [x]

with the inclusion of the more intimate scenes between Geralt and Yennefer in Sirens I do wonder if those were some scenes they wanted to include but he refused to do it ( and refused to have a body double do)

I also wonder if this is an indication that there will be some spicy Yenralt flashbacks in season 4 because this is clearly how the characters behave in the book and this is how the writers want to portray them ( and it wont take up a ton of time those scenes were effective and they were only like a total of like 2 minutes)

or is it an indication that they did it here in animated form because they dont want to do it on the main show for pacing reasons or some other reason

i think it’s most definitely an indication of how they wanted to write Geralt and especially his interpersonal relationship, especially with Yen and Jaskier, and I also think it’s a hopeful indication of how he’ll more or less behave in s4 (considering the depressive slump that he’s in during BoF) especially seeing that both the writers who wrote Sirens worked on s4!

It was so lovely to see a more emotionally mature Geralt who visible cares about Jaskier and Yen like wow it felt so good !!

I also believe 100% we’ll get Yennefer Geralt scenes in S4, whether they’ll be flashbacks, deems, or current timeline I’m not sure, but with everyone expecting to see Liam and Anya’s chemistry there’s no way they’d deny it, and I’m SO excited

this man has survived binge drinking moisturizer, eating dozens of pointy figurines, eating dozens of plastic straws, running into a burning building and carrying out bottles of alcohol that also caught fire, being kicked by david 7, repeatedly walking into an electric forcefield, drinking what we can assume were several pints of creme de menthe, and more—all while being (if i recall correctly) banned from the med bay

for some reason it's the creme de menthe that sold me on this

trexel just keeps getting into or putting himself in situations where he could die—many of which are situations where any normal person would die—and he just keeps on kicking. at this point, something should have killed him by now

but nothing has, and i don't think anything ever will
