Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales; Why It Shouldn’t Exist

Or how I invested time and energy into an analysis of a relatively dead franchise instead of doing it for my actual media analysis university course.

An essay by: a bitter and obsessed PotC fan since they were 7, with a lot of free time.

Lads, this is going to be long. You have been warned.

The Beginning

At the very beginning of the movie, we see a young Henry Turner looking for his dad.

Now, we're not talking about characterization problems or how likely it is that a ten-year-old child would risk his life to look for a man he technically only saw once; we're talking about plot problems, actual logical fallacies. My questions are:

How? The Flying Dutchman is a legendary ship, impossible to be found unless She wants to be found. The only reason we see Her in Dead Man's Chest is because Davy Jones himself is looking for Jack to collect his debt, and in that occasion the Dutchman's captain wasn't even doing what he was supposed to do, so he was most definitely in the living world. Will otherwise, he's doing the job Calypso gave him, so he's constantly in between. Is the movie trying to convince me that a kid was able to do something no one in the history of piracy was ever able to do? And even if he did, why hasn't anyone explained me how? He simply looks at a map and throws himself on the bottom of the ocean. How did he know The Dutchman was there? How did he know it would've come to surface?

Where is his mom? We got to know Elizabeth in the first three movies; we know she's a smart woman and we can assume she's an attentive mother. She didn't notice her son preparing himself for a trip in the middle of the ocean to go look for his dad? Was she distracted? Was she outsmarted by a 10ish-year-old? Or is she just not contemplated in this scenario?

Why does Will look like that? Will is doing his job, so... why does he look like he's slowly corrupting? That kind of corruption is the punishment Calypso reserves to The Dutchman's crew when the captain fails her, which isn't the case. Did they forget about it? Was the idea of putting algae on Orlando Bloom's face just impossible to resist to?

Alright, this isn't actually from this movie but it's bothering me, so I have to write it; also, it would make this whole movie unnecessary, so it's somehow related to it. Why (and I can't stress this enough) can't Elizabeth be on the Dutchman? Why can't they do the job together? Is it because she's not a pirate? I'm pretty sure se actually is. Is it because she's a woman? Last time I checked she was the KING. She wants to stay with Will forever, Will wants to stay with her forever, they can literally live forever on the same ship. Why aren't they?

Whatever the Hell Happened to Jack Sparrow

Imagine creating a character that is so iconic whenever you ask a person who was a kid in the early 2000 to imagine a pirate, they imagine said character.

Now imagine fourteen years pass and you decide to ruin that character by making him the most hideous, annoying, idiotic person in the whole saga, and we're talking about a saga that has Philip the Missionary in it. Why? Jack Sparrow is THE anti-hero. Never on the right side, but never on the wrong one. You can tell he's doing something morally questionable, but you still find yourself rooting for him. He's stupid enough to make you laugh, but he's secretly clever enough to always get away with it. Now he's just... drunk. And that's not even an excuse for this horrendous new characterization, because he was always drunk. The guy FORGOT HE WAS ROBBING A BANK, the same guy just one movie earlier was able to escape from the King of England's palace and steal a lady's earring (by pretending to be a literal slut) in the process. He just switched from the iconic drunk bi bestie everyone loves to my cringe uncle that drinks too much at Christmas parties and makes everyone uncomfortable. Please, if the risk is ruining an entire generation's beloved character, either don't make the movie or find a better explanation than "Bad luck dogs you day and night".

The Pearl in The Bottle

So... what you're telling me is that Jack Sparrow, the guy who was able to defeat Hector Barbossa, Davy Jones and Blackbeard thanks to his slyness, and who loves his Black Pearl more than anything else in the world, had said ship in a bottle in his pockets for FIVE YEARS... and he never thought about breaking the bottle to free Her. That's what you're telling me. This is the pivotal point upon which the entire Jack's plot hinges. I... I don't even know what to say. Was this supposed to be funny?

What an Incredibly Lucky Coincidence

A guy needs a treasure to save his father. To find it, he needs the help of a notorious and legendary pirate. He looks for him everywhere, sailing on dozens of ships just so he has the remote chance to stumble across the pirate. The last ship he's been on has sinked, he's the only survivor. He's been found in the middle of the ocean and someone brought him to the nearest city. Which city? I mean, the one that has both the pirate he was looking for and a lady who's the only person in the whole planet who's able to find the treasure he was looking for! And, oh my... he finds the both of them! In that same city! Without even LOOKING FOR THEM! A hell of a coincidence, if you ask me. Also known as lazy writing.

What's Wrong With the Guards?

Now, I know Pirates of the Caribbean isn't exactly known for its accurate historical reconstructions, but why are the guards in this movie acting like they're some sort of hellhounds ready to kill anyone in sight? Even pirates and traitors as Jack and Henry were supposed to stand trial before being sentenced to death. It would've probably been an unjust and barbaric trial, but there should've been one. We literally saw it, in the previous movie. Why's Jack been sentenced to death for simply existing here? He gave pirate vibes and they decided that was enough?

Paul McCartney

This is not an actual point of the analysis, I just wanted to remind people that Paul McCartney is in this movie and that's the only valid reason to watch it.

Salazar

I am confused. Once again, I have questions.

El Matador Del Mar was so good at his job he had almost defeated piracy. "The last ones joined together to try and defeat me". The last what? Pirates? There were no pirates left? This happened when Jack was young, so a lot of time before the first movie, right? Where were, I don't know... Blackbeard? Davy Jones? Barbossa? All the other Pirate Lords? I might be wrong, but I guess Salazar didn't kill them, did he? Why weren't they there during that "last battle" in which "the last ones joined together"?

The Devil's Triangle. I just don't understand what's the logic behind it. So, this is a cursed place. Whoever enters there, can't get out. One would think it means that if you get there, you die; and Salazar does die, but he somehow also becomes a ghost whose only purpose is to find Jack Sparrow and have his revenge. So, do people become ghosts when they get in The Devil's Triangle? We have to assume people have gotten stuck in there before; otherwise, there wouldn't be legends around the place. So why isn't it like full of spirits ready to haunt people? Why are Salazar and his crew the only ones?

Poseidon or Calypso?

What's the Trident of Poseidon? Does Poseidon exist? Isn't Calypso the Goddess of the sea? Breaking the Trident, you break all the curses of the sea, so the Trident must be more powerful than Calypso, which leads to a question. Where is she? She IS the sea, right? So she must have known someone was about to find the Trident and brake all curses, including her one. She just decided it was okay? It really feels like someone decided to suddenly change the world's mythology without giving explanations.

The Compass

This is possibly the most blatant plot hole in the whole saga. Probably the most blatant plot hole I've ever witnessed, and man, I watched all the Harry Potter movies. In Dead Man's Chest, Jack meets Tia Dalma in her "shop" and he tells her he's looking for the Davy Jones' key. She asks him "The compass you bartered from me, it cannot lead you to this?", making another pivotal point of Dead Men Tell No Tales factually senseless.

That man couldn't have given his compass to Jack, because that wasn't his compass.

So either Salazar is lying while telling his tale or they forgot about that line in the second movie. Anyway, let's pretend that line doesn't exist; even if that captain gave Jack his compass in that exact moment, why would it be the key to free Salazar, exactly? How is the compass in any way related to The Devil's Triangle or to Salazar? In the movie, they try to explain it with a sentence: “if you betray it, your greatest fear comes true”. So, is Salazar Jack's greatest fear? I really doesn't seem right, Jack almost didn't remember Salazar when Henry mentioned him. To Jack, he's only a guy he outsmarted decades earlier. Also, Jack technically already gave the compass away, twice: to Elizabeth in Dead Man's Chest, to make her find the chest, and to Beckett in At World's End, when they're negotiating.

That's... That's Just Body Shaming, Mate

Let's talk about her. So, the woman's ugly. It can happen that a woman is ugly. Was it necessary to build an entire scene around some blatant body shaming? This scene wants to mimic the similar scene in Dead Man's Chest: Jack's on an island, running from the main villain, and he's forced to do things he doesn't want to do until someone saves him, then it was Will, now it's Hector.

Except in Dead Man's Chest it was LITERAL CANNIBALISM he was facing, and yet he looked LESS TERRIFIED and DISGUSTED. What's exactly the message here? Lads, is marrying an ugly woman worse than cannibalism? I don't know... that was just bad.

Justice for Hector Barbossa

If you know me (you probably don't, but if you do) then you know about my obsession with Hector Barbossa. I truly believe he's the best written character in the saga, and he's in my top five of the characters I love the most in all media. I watched The Curse of the Black Pearl when I was seven and I am autistic, so I had all the time to develop a literal relationship with these characters in my head. As much as Geoffrey Rush's interpretation was impeccable, as always, it really hurt to watch Hector in this movie. He just doesn't sound like him. First of all, why isn't he on the Queen Anne's Revenge? Why's he letting someone else sail around on his ships? He would've never. Why's he just sitting on a throne and shooting musicians instead of, I don't know... being a pirate? Being a pirate is the only thing that matters to him. He says it at the end of On Stranger Tides, and he even says it in this movie, to the witch. "I'm a pirate. Always will be".

So, why isn't he pirating? What happened to him? And what about the pact with the witch? He made her curse all his enemies; that's honestly the most out-of-character thing he could've done.

Seriously, watch this movie, and then The Curse of the Black Pearl and tell me he sounds like he's the same character. Then there’s his death... was it necessary? And I don't mean if it was necessary to the plot (it wasn't), but the way he died, did it make sense? He takes the sword and sacrifices himself to kill Salazar, but WHY? Salazar was back a mortal. They could've brought him to surface and then shoot him. What was the point of his death, Disney? I will never forgive you.

I would've preferred if they never showed him again. He's alive and living his best life in Tortuga, if you ask me.

How does Carina Smyth exist?

Let's do the maths. Carina Smyth has approximately the same age as Henry Turner, who was born around nine moths after the end of At World's End. At the end of that movie, Barbossa once again stole the Black Pearl (he's iconic we stan a legend), so we have to assume it is during that time (between the At World's End and On Stranger Tides) that he conceives Carina. He stays with this woman during the whole pregnancy, bacause he says he was there when she died. So nine months, at least, right? Except; Jack makes it clear that he and Barbossa met Carina's mom, Margaret, together.

When, exactly, did this happen? It can't be between On Stranger Tides and Dead Men Tell No Tales, because Hector himself says only five years passed between the two, and Carina doesn't look like a five-year-old;

it can't be between At World's End and On Stranger Tides, because we know Jack and Barbossa weren't together, and Hector was too busy losing a leg and planning his revenge by working for the King of England; it can't be during At World's End, because Barbossa was too busy rescuing Jack and then slaying (literally and metaphorically) Beckett's men to save piracy; it can't be during Dead Man's Chest, because he was dead; it can't be during The Curse of the Black Pearl, nor during the ten years before it, because he was... he was a skeleton, I hardly believe he could reproduce, despite what’s written in some fanficions; it can't be before, of course, because Carina would be too old. The only chance, but it's a stretch, is that Hector and Jack met this Margaret Smyth years and years before, and that at a certain point (while he was still busy slaying, losing a leg or planning his revenge), for some reason he decided to come back to her and accidentally had a daughter. That would mean that Jack remembered Margaret Smyth's name DECADES after he met her.

The Post-Credit Scene: What?

WHY'S DAVY JONES BACK? The Trident technically broke all the curses of the sea. He is THE cursed man of the sea. AND HE'S DEAD. The only answer I was able to give me, is that the moment the Trident broke the curses, the curse that said if you stab his heart he dies was also broken, so he technically didn't die, but it makes even less sense, because if the curses just aren't real anymore, then a man shouldn't be able to... carve out his heart and put it in a chest, right? (Which by the way, makes Will Turner being alive senseless as well). Even if so, Davy should've come back as a human.

My conclusion is that this movie should not exist, and we, as a community, should pretend it was never made. Hector is alive. Bye.

Jack sparrow, can you ever picture the choatic, scoundrel in love with anyone.

Jack sparrow is flirty with women, strumpets, nobles, ladies, you name it. But when he mey you that's when it was different.

Jack sparrow had never been in lover expect the closest thing being angelica (but we don't talk about that).

Jack was quite confident, boisterous in his knowledge of the sea.

You coming in the picture was a whole new chapter to Jack's life.

"The pearl," he thought. "Surely it must've been a bad drunken dream he had with you in it ey".

Jack was, conflicted, confused about you or rather, your being.

His feelings are not one to be taken lightly for, he loved the pearl, he loved the sea but a person. How can this be?

Jack would act rash and odd, like odder then his usual self (and you know how odd he is most of the time.)

He would avoid you and hide away from you. Acting like a highschooler with a huge crush.

For one minute, he would be speaking to someone, and the next he would run from seeing you.

You felt weirded out at first, Jack Sparrow, a confident and adventurous buccaneer, was acting like a coward in front of you.

During the night, Jack would be hiding from you until he calls Master Gibbs.

"Master Gibbs," he whispers.

"J-Jack, is tha' yer, whaddya doin' hiding in tha barrells," Gibbs questioned.

Jack peaked his cattish eyes to see if you were nearby, "gah" he pulled Gibbs into the Barrell with him.

"Jack, what's wron', is tha' kraken after us?" Gibbs asked.

"No, somethin' way worse mate," Jack leaned up once more to see if you were around.

"Then, wha' is it Jack" Gibbs questioned once more.

"Him/them/Her," Jack muttered

"Him?/them?/Her?" Gibbs questioned

"The girl/the boy/the person" Jack admitted.

"The girl?/the boy?/the person?--" Gibbs realised who Jack was speaking about.

"Oh, that girl/boy/person" Gibbs figured out.

"But jack, she/he/they ain't out ta get yer, are they? Gibbs asked.

Jack's upper lip curled into something of disgust. "No, not yet at least, but I've been having these -" Jack's hands jestures toward the word "Feelings."

"Oh~, I see wha' ye mean, I see tha' way ye look at her/him/them" Gibbs nudges Jack in a teasing manner.

"Shhh," Jack hushed Master Gibbs. "Well, why Dontcha go n' tell er', after all, ye do ave' a way wit tha lasses".

Jack turned to Gibbs, widening his eyes. "Wait, it be more than tha' Jack?".

"Ohhh, Jack a-are ye admittin', yer in love wit' her/him/them" Gibbs questioned.

Jack pushed himself out of the barrel. "It ain't good mate, I ain't exactly sure what to do" Jack softly spoke.

He cared for you yet he was conflicted. He loved the sea and the pearl more then anybody (aside from rum).

He couldn't begin to imagine being with anyone. Freedom and the lust of adventure were all he knew yet he would need time to figure out his feelings.

Gibbs would give Jack advice for being in love yet Jack would still continue to act stranger.

Jack would give subtle hints, though. He would protect you and act to save you.

Other then that, Jack is weirder when it comes to love rather then lust.

At least you weren't left on an island, although that was more because he couldn't trust Angelica.

Jack would be conflicted, but he would still protect you only the downside is he would try to take time figuring things out for you.

If he did confess, it would be "I love you mate, I always have and always will" leaning into kiss "as do I Jack, as, do, I" y/n speaks softly.

Hector barbossa 🍏

Barbossa, a screaming, strong and fearsome captain that no one dares triumphs.

Barbossa is a man who gives no quarter to those that cross him.

When you picture someone being handsome, you're probably thinking, Jack Sparrow, Will Turner, or James Norrington. Definitely not Barbossa though what if there was something too him.

Barbossa is complex. There's no doubt about that. He's a character that is portrayed in the strong setting not the romantic kind.

Hector being in love would be quite extraordinary, though albeit rare.

Barbossa would often catch himself staring at you from the helm, spying on you through his telescope or eyeglass.

His expressions would be softer; his face pouting instead of smiling over the adventurous horizon.

He would watch over you, from above or far.

He would (Childish as this sounds) dream of you, secretly imploring to show you the true meaning of serenity.

His manner wouldn't change, of course. He would put on this facade of ordering you around or challenging you to keep your mind afloat of any ideas.

He would take advice from Jack on how to woo you but ignore most of it.

Jack would flirt with you but end up bewildered you chose Barbossa over him.

He has hidden himself away or has been quite vague in your presence where as, unlike Jack would speak to you if necessary.

He would be quite protective yet passive toward your nature. He doesn't want to give any hints until he was prepared.

Barbossa mended the helm where Jack caught him staring at you, "staring off again, eh Hector, or rather, are you staring at her/him/them?".

"Keep yer business ter yerself sparrah" Barbossa growled, warning Jack.

"You know me, mate, that ain't happening," Jack teased.

"Don't mind me asking, but how can something as fetching as that end up with something as hideous as you?" Jack crossed the line.

Barbossa pulled his cutlass out from his holster, holding it over Jack. "Shut yer trap!" Barbossa demanded whispering.

"No, I don't think I will" Jack was getting on Barbossas nerves.

"I think there's something about her/him/them hm, seems like you're revoltingly intertwined with the poor thing," Jack smiled.

Barbossa clenched his teeth in a growling manner. "She/he/they won't be wantin' anytin' ta do wit me, fer er/is/their admirer is a swine."

Barbossa withdrew his sword and tended back to the helm, ignoring Jack.

Eventually, Barbossa got to know you more and more, he did confess his feelings.

If Barbossa confessed, he would be emotionally sincere, and with only two words, he admitted "yer treasure."

Will turner🌊

Will Turner was at first a blacksmith, and he often visited Elizabeth.

Will being in love is quite a passionate experience. He would bring the whole world to you.

Will would be around you. He would travel the ocean just to be with you.

Will would team up with Jack to save you from anything.

When the events of Davy Jones took place, he swore his heart to you.

No doubt Will Turner was a strong lad and devoted.

Will was looking out over the horizon, deep in thought.

"Is everything alright, Will?" Elizabeth leaned against the railing.

"Yeah, just, contemplating is all," Will stared off into the distance, looking at you.

"You like her/him/them, don't you?" Elizabeth softly muttered. She had feelings for Will, but it seemed his eyes were on you.

"Aye" will glanced at the broken hearted Elizabeth.

"Least you two have a lot in common," she tried to smile.

Will walked over toward you and held your hand. "Y/n, ever since we first met, I haven't stopped thinking about you, I love you."

The day will confessed was the day he promised to come ashore once every couple of years.

Will Turner was a legend with a heart he held only for you.

Elizabeth Swann 🦢

Elizabeth was the pirate king. She had finally been elected to phase through with the next plan of killing Cutler Beckett.

She was tough, and you knew that, once a woman who was fantasised pirates now a powerful king destined to sail the seas.

She protected you, cared for you, and loved you.

Elizabeth swore she would keep you alive until the aftermath as to which she would dream of living with you.

Will noticed, he approved but felt broken hearted that it wasn't him.

Jack was walking up to her. "So, you and y/n hm, didn't think you'd fancy her/him/them. Thought you fancied dear William."

Elizabeth looked at Jack and looked away. "I did once," she held a playful smirk on her face, "though, things change, you know it intrigues me, Jack, why you're so curious about who I fancy".

Jack gripped the bottle of rum, and he sipped the bitter liquid. "Hm, just wonderin' love".

"Did you place a bet on me with Master Gibbs?" Elizabeth asked.

"What me, nooo~" Jack wasn't able to pull off the facade. "So, mabey I did."

Elizabeth rolled her eyes "unbelievable". She focused her gaze onto you.

"You love her/him/them, don'tch you" Jack blurted out.

Elizabeth turned back to Jack. "Mabey I do," she confirmed.

Jack in his mind knew he would win the bet, that barrel of rum is his.

If she confessed, it would be during the fight with Davy Jones. "I love you, y/n!" She would scream in the rain.

Henry Turner 🔱

Henry was the son of Will Turner, a boy that wouldn't give up on trying to release his father's curse.

Henry would be quite inexperienced when it comes to love, the boys like a puppy.

He would interact with you and be by your side.

He would take interest in many of your things.

Henry would get advice from Jack that would make Carina roll her eyes.

"Henry, are you with it" Carina waved her hand in front of Henry's eyes.

"Huh, yeah, uh I think so" Henry smiled innocently.

"Good, if we sail east, we should be able to find the trident," Carina showed henry the diary of Galileo. The Ruby showed a map that Carina had been using.

Henry had been averting his eyes to behind Carina once more seeing you.

"Henry, what's with you?" Carina asked.

"Are you staring at another girl/boy/person?" Carina grew annoyed."For heavens sake, Henry, we must concentrate if we ever wish to free your father".

Henry nodded, getting his mind back into the main goal.

Henry couldn't help himself by being around you though Carina got annoyed with Henry's gushing.

When he confessed, it was after he freed his father. "Y/n, I love you, you've been there when I needed it and I thank you for that" Henry would then lean in to kiss you.

Davy Jones 🐙

Davy had only ever gave his heart to only one person, a goddess of the sea.

He's cold, cruel and had his heart hardened.

Davy would in love again would be a rarity, he couldn't feel for anyone else.

It was break his grief, he would be able to move on and regain humanity.

It would be possible he may just be able to turn human.

Davy had finally admitted his conflicted feelings for you, seeing calypso before the final battle.

Tia Dalma appeared behind Davy. "You know what fate has woven you back".

"I dah naught need ta' see you" Davy said in anger.

"Your heart still beats, a life spared by your own choosing," Tia stood her ground.

"Ah spar nah one" Davy said in a short fuse.

"A heart that beats but not for my own," Tia admitted.

"You've spared a life, a life not given to cruelty." she caressed his cheek "a woman/a man/a person".

"AH DONT SPAR LIVES-AH!" Davy shouted, slamming his claw hand against the wall next to Tia.

"You broke my love," Davy muttered before calming down.

Tia whispered before Davy left, "Your heart belongs to me but it beats for her"/him/them.

Davy would take time, he would confess during the last maelstrom battle. He would see you wounded and that's when his rage was let out.

"Y/n," he would mutter before roaring and slaughtering the men.

"My heart belongs to you."

Cutler Beckett 🍵

Beckett is cold-hearted, he is ambitious and an intelligent man.

He wouldn't usually show how soft of a man he would be, but that changed.

Beckett would at first try to manipulate you, for you to give up sparrow.

He would hire you on occasions to spend nights with him as a strumpet.

He would keep these occasions on the down low in private.

He would use you, but he also holds affection for you, attraction.

So when the time came, he had to choose you or the company.

"We got him, sir, we got him, Captain Jack Sparrow" The navy officer said.

Jack was trapped in chains between his hands and feet.

Beckett gave a wry smile of amusement "well, if it isn't captain Jack Sparrow".

Jack glanced up to see the lord.

"After all of this, a filthy scoundrel trapped in chains" Beckett smiled with amusement.

Beckett pulled out his flintlock pistol, aiming it at Jack.

"Send my regards to Jones for me, will you, Mr Sparrow?" Beckett smiled.

You come in the way of the between Jack and Beckett.

"Y/n, move," Beckett ordered.

Since you refused, Beckett aimed the pistol directly in front of you and Sparrow. "I'll give you the final chance to turn away now, girl/boy/y/n".

Beckett was frustrated that you defended Sparrow. For a moment, he lost his composure.

His cold eyes drew into one of regret for a moment, as if he truly treasures you.

Yet his morals kicked in and shot you. Blindly, he didn't know, he couldn't tell where his mind was but his ambitions had gotten in the way.

He looked distraught and shocked, as smoke left the pistols' end point.

Beckett hadn't really meant to kill you, not really, but his ambitions were tremendous.

If he confessed it would be "you make me content, a sweet girl/boy/person in this devastating world betrothing herself/himself/themself to my desire. What a despicably beautiful act."

James Norrington 🎖

James had his heart broken by the woman he was devoted to.

He was honorable, polite, and a man with high morals.

The admiral has been in love before but could never really express it.

If he were to love another, it would be better for him so he could move on.

James met you when he betrayed Will and Elizabeth when he retrieved the heart of Davy Jones.

Beckett dismissed the admiral as he was set out to be promoted and restored once more.

"Y/n, what are you doing here?" James said in concern.

"I had to see you, the chest of Jones, did Will and Elizabeth destroy it?" you asked in a huff.

James looked down in shame, he betrayed the only friend he had.

"So they didn't?, why?" Y/n asked.

"Listen to me y/n, there may not be much time, Beckett's men will hunt you if they find out you're associated with Sparrow" James whispered.

"You need to leave, don't come looking for me anymore, your safety is my highest concern" James looked around the hall outside of Beckett's office.

"You're precious to me, more than any I've known," James suddenly pushed his lips to meet yours, like it's a goodbye kiss.

"Now go," James ordered you.

You listened and left without a word as James breathed a sigh in relief and attended his duties toward Lord Beckett.

If James were to confess, it would be like "y/n, you're a fine woman/man/person, and you would make an even finer wife/husband/partner."

Tia Dalma 🐚

Tia was a wild woman. She was extraordinary compared to the rest, she likes to explore those she's interested in.

Tia had only loved once, a man from a long time ago but he betrayed her.

Tia being in love would finally heal her wounded heart.

She would be able to move on but not destroy Davy Jones as he was her past.

Tia was greeting Jack Sparrow, an old friend.

"Jack Sparrow," Tia smiled at the captain.

"Tia--" Jack noticed you behind the back "question, who's that" he pointed.

"She/he/y/n is a child with a destiny," Tia said no more than that.

"New friend, congrats, love," Jack smiled.

"She's/he's/their more than just that," Tia implied.

Jack was astonished, although he didn't know the full story.

Tia had guided you from the beginning, she was a goddess you fell for.

When she confronted Davy Jones, you felt Jealous knowing her past.

Davy would kill you for taking his lover.

If Tia confessed, she would do it after her Goddess form "my y/n," she whispered.

Carina smyth ✨

Carina was a very smart woman, an astrologist curious to know who her father was.

Carina being in love is more likely to involve her being caring toward you.

She would spend time with you and tell you about the stars and her past.

Carina was talking to Henry; Henry respected her decision but felt bad for himself as he had a crush on her.

Carina was watching over you as you were tied with Henry and Jack to lead Barbossa and his men toward the trident.

"I don't believe now's the time to be asking odd questions, henry," Carina whispered.

"You like her/him/them. I understand, but what would happen if the captain killed us? " He whispered back.

"I think you should tell her/him/them, or they'll be no other time," he said.

Carina looked toward you as Captain Barbossa untied her to guide them over the waters.

She quickly demanded a word with you, or she won't tell them. Barbossa impatient said she had 5 minuets.

"Y/n, listen, I should've said something earlier, but I'm glad you're here with me," she admitted. "If I ever did meet my father, he would be proud of us".

If carina confessed, it would be after she found out who her father was. "I love you; I really do."

Armando salazar 👻

Salazar was sailing the seas, hunting down pirates until he died from the hands of Jack Sparrow.

Armando was human and when he fell in love he showed it through his soft side.

When he turned into the un-dead, he became cruel, cold and merciless.

Salazar kept an eye out for only one thing; revenge on sparrow.

He looked over the deck to reminisce over his past life.

He remembered you, your warmth and soft touch.

It was the only part that made him feel human.

You were probably long gone by now since Salazar had lived on for quite sometime.

That was until Jack had an encounter. After Salazar had become human from the trident breaking.

His flesh and memories were flooding back, ones of love and joy.

"I am back mi amore, I am alive," he muttered.

However, it was short lasted when Barbossa sacrificed himself to the sea killing him in the process.

"I-am-alive" as his last and final vision was you.

If he confessed, it would be when he was human and did it in a shy yet ambitious manner. "Sounds stupid, doesn't it, but te amo y/n."

Phillip swift 📔

Phillip was captured by the infamous blackbeard.

He was forced to work under his name, as a servant of the pirates.

Phillip had been tortured, physically and mentally by the captains cruel nature.

The only thing that kept him going was his bible.

When Phillip was in love it would've been with you either as a captive or a mermaid/merman/merperson.

Phillip escaped the treacherous crew from the fountain and ran back to find you.

"You came back" you said with your hands tied up to a tree "why".

"God gives love to all, gods creation shall be protected." he used a small dagger to untie you.

"I am his messenger, I will not let you die," he tried hard to uncut you.

"Phillip, I'm not special, I'm not worth your time," you said.

"What, of course you are. You are god's beautiful gift to this world, as you are mine" he finally uncut the bonds holding you.

You fell back into the water as he let you escape.

You had some options to take him with you or leave him on land.

If he confessed, he would say outright, "You are a beautiful creature, made from the heavens above."

Syrena 🧜‍♀️

Syrena was caught by the crew for her tears.

She didn't know the human world, but she knew cruelty.

You were a boatswain on black beard's ship. Angelica prompted you as she thought you were more tougher.

You kept an eye on everything, the riggings, the crew, and the order.

Syrena became friendlier with you and Phillip. However, you were short lasted as you started to have feelings for syrena.

One night, while Jack was hunting for the chalices. You stuck out.

You brought a small cutlass with you and cut the bindings.

With no word you grabbed syrenas hand and ran.

"Where are we going" she said.

"To freedom" you replied.

Phillip got up and went to check on syrena when she was nowhere to be found.

The crew had no idea where the mermaid or you went but it put angelica and her father in a heap.

They were ordered to hunt you down and kill you.

She looked into the sea yet without a second thought looked back.

"Come, come with me, you save me, I do the same in return," Syerna held your hand.

"I, I can't, you're a mermaid, and I'm a human it wouldn't work," you said sadly.

Syrena looked up and kissed you before diving into the sea. Her tail sparkling in gold.

"I understand, but what's left for you up here?" she pointed toward the way back.

You held your hand out as Syerna dragged you into the sea, never to be found again.

If she confessed, it would be, "I feel it for you, a human feeling for you, I love you."

Angelica tech 👢

Angelica was under the eyes of her father, she had to play a very strict role in order to survive.

She was no mere lady, she was the first mate of her father.

She was Jack sparrows ex-lass, an old flame, broken woman of the seas.

Angelica trusted no one. She didn't want to be played for a fool ever again.

Angelica in love would be like having a second chance only, be careful not to break it.

One night, you set up a romantic giving that was until Jack ruined it.

"So let me guess this straight, she likes you, you like her, and you hate me," Jack questioned. "And you're just here," he pointed to the bard, who smiled and waved back.

"Aye, Jack, this is none of your business," Angelica spoke.

"You should've known. If you wanted me back, you wouldn't have left, " angelica concluded.

"Nah, but see here, love, she doesnt know who you are" Jack turned to you.

"Jack, she/he/y/n doesn't have to know of my life," angelica persisted.

"Though you proclaim to be the daughter of-" Jack nearly spilt her secret.

"I'll cut your eye out Jack!" Angelica interrupted.

"I got a second chance, a chance that you never gave me, and I'll be damn sure you don't ruin it" Angelica threatened.

"Hang on, don't she/he/they know that's blackbeards daughter" the bard spilled.

"Now that wasn't me," Jack defended.

"You're a pirate," you question.

"Yes, yes I am, at heart like my father" angelica admitted.

"Pirate or not, you're still the heart of my sea," you asked.

If angelica confessed, it would be sweet and passionate. "My y/n, you are always mi amore."

Edward tech🏴‍☠️

He was one of the most fearsome pirates known to date.

In the fountain of youth, you were captured as a concubine/concubinus/partner.

You weren't exactly treated with care, always expected to somehow pleasure and entertain all the crew and its captain.

You grew to be tough once you were in the fountain of youth you were forced to join.

Phillip and syrena were the closest you had ever gotten to a friendship.

One night, you entered the cabin to confront the captain.

Though it wasn't as planned as you were held back.

It wasn't easy, but as time went on, you had grown soft for his daughter.

On the other hand, it was decided you were to be made as a pirate bride/husband/partner.

You grew to hate the life but slowly developed feelings.

As you got to the fountain of youth, it was surprising he chose to sacrifice his daughter instead of you.

Though in the end, he may have died, but it was revealed he indeed had feelings for you as he muttered out your name before falling to bone.

Joshamee Gibbs 🍻

Gibbs was Jack's loyal first mate, a member of his crew.

Gibbs was more logical than Jack was and acted like a father figure toward him as a dear friend.

Gibbs was surely never once had been in love as he valued the sea more.

One day, you came on board as Jack's "friend" to see the pearl.

as he set sail, Gibbs had taken more of a liking to you.

Jack would certainly get jealous of all the attention Gibbs is giving you.

Usually falling off the barrels as you walk past from drinking as he was caught off guard.

He would speak to you about the ways of the ship, boasting on about Jack.

Gibbs eventually settled his mind on one thing yet he had to make a hard decision to choose you or the sea.

Gibbs one night decided to take you on a date with the help of "jack".

One day, Gibbs came in to admit something.

"Ah, Master Gibbs, glad you're here, I need yo-" Jack noticed Gibbs's words.

"Jack, it ain't easy, I thought it be the sea, but oh, miss/mr/y/n was certainly a sight." Gibbs reminisced.

"Who, the girl/guy/person, well bloody didnt well know that," Jack furrowed his eyebrows.

"Jack, ye've been intertwined wit lasses before, whaddya do ta reel them in" he asked for advice.

Jack smiled, thinking, "Guess I won the bet, ye owe me a lot of shillings and doubloons Hector".

"Right mate, first you have to set the mood hm, then add some passion t'your evening then--" Jack gave Gibbs a sly look.

"Then wha" Gibbs smiled following along.

"Then you leave the next morning and set your sights on the sea," Jack smiled.

"Jack, I ain't spendin' a crack at jenny's teacup wit her/him/them," Gibbs firmly said.

"Hm, then that's on you, mate," Jack wandered off to find some rum.

If Gibbs confessed, it would be like the old school couple kind "y/n, I ain't usually interested in many bah, ye be one o' a kind, I love ye from the bottom o' the briny deep ta tha top o'tha shining stars".

Ragetti and Pintel 👁💢

Ragetti and pintel are two of the same, not the smartest but not the worst either.

One day in tortuga, the two spotted the sight of a good looking lass/lad/person.

"Look o'er there, quite a looker ey" pintel winked.

"Yeah, bets they taken though" Ragetti thought.

"Only one's way ta find out," Pintel smiled.

"Wait, we's can't just goes o'er there, i means look at them and looks at us" Ragetti halted pintel.

"Who cares if she/he/they's aint inta us, well plunder er/im/em," pintel replied.

"I wouldn't do tha', I would take em out ta sail unda' tha stars n' then dance wit them under the moonlight, reciting some love words" Ragetti swooned at his idea.

Pintel looked at Ragetti like he was repulsive "I would's bring er/im/em ta tha brigs n' if cap'n don't want er, then I'll take em" pintel smiled at the evil thought.

"Ya's ave' ta be in love ta treat em right, I wouldn't hurt em otherwise" ragetti intervened.

"Love, it's repulsive t'ward pirates, keeps us doin' mushy stuff tha aint them" Pintel cringed.

"N'alright, if ye ain't gonna treat em right, then i's will." ragetti approached you.

Pintel grabbed him by the arm. "Hangs on who's says you's get firsts claim".

"I did" ragetti growled. Then the two grabbed out their cutlasses and started to sword fight over the pettiness of you.

If the two were in love, it would be weird yet funny to watch. Ragetti would be intelligent in his ways of speaking to you while pintel would probably scare you off.

Captain Teague 🎸

Teague is an old sea salt, the keeper of codes and the first in the Brethren court.

He would be seated in the Brethren courts meeting when Jack greeted his dear old dad.

"Ello' Jackie" Teague greeted his son.

"Dad" Jack greeted back.

"Been a while, hasn't it" Jack admitted.

"Hm, seems so" Teague replied.

A woman/man/person comes around and greets their husband with a smile and curtious look.

"Who's that" Jack asked.

"They be my new mate" teague didn't reply much more then that.

"Does this mean I ave' a new parent now" Jack looked confused.

"How's mum" Jack asked curiously.

Teague pulled out a shrunken head of her as Jack smiled awkwardly. "She looks great."

You on the other hand smiled at Jack's reaction as you wrapped yourself around your husband.

"Sparrow" you muttered.

Teague treated you with respect and sometimes played his guitar to you.

If he confessed, it would be sudden. "Hmm, guess I would say I love you, but be a bit cliche really".

Bootstrap Bill🐚

Bootstrap was apart of the cursed crew on the Dutchman.

He had no free will and even missed his son.

You were the only bright part of his life, he would protect you from Davys grasp.

Bootstrap Bill in love would bring back memories of his former, dead lover arabella.

You looked after bootstrap as he talked about his son.

One day bootstrap got punished by Davy Jones.

"No, it's not her/him/them it was me" bootstrap defended.

Bootstrap held his end for you and got whipped at the boucan.

Bootstrap would be the most protective man that would stick out for you.

Bootstrap admitted his confession when you were hurt. "I'm sorry y/n, I loved you, I couldn't go through with Davy hurtin' you."

Redd the pirate 👩‍🦰

Redd was a tough woman. She was previously a wench and now she's a pirate.

Redd would be protective of you and she would defend you in any way she could.

She would hold many adventures with you and let you set sail with her.

"Seem's the ol landlubber knows how ta sail" she smiled to you.

"Seems the ol' lass knows her words" you replied.

Redd would be hanging around Tortuga while having fun.

She was auctioned off originally for being a pirate bride however she sailed with barbossas old crew on the wicked wench.

You showed redd respect compared to the rest of the drunkards.

If she confessed, she would kiss your forehead while saying, "Be not many like ye, a true lady/gent/person ta show this lass a yey ol time. I be willin ta spend e'ry shillings on ye if ye take this lass out on a blissful evenin".

Pirates of the Caribbean Question Week: The 5th Movie:

The Trident of Poseidon holds promises for all our main characters. Henry Turner believes it will free his father. Carina Smyth is sure the search can help her answer questions about her past. Captain Salazar needs it to save his undead crew and sow revenge on all pirates. Barbossa seeks the treasure it will bring. And Jack is back doing whatever it is Jack does; enemies bent on revenge, playing a Turner, squabbling for the Pearl, aimlessly running from death, and living a Pirates Life with a bottle of rum.

Question for all my PotC fans out there.

*Spoilers for Dead Men Tell No Tales and maybe On Stanger Tides*

Would Poseidon's trident being broke free all the ships Blackbeard put in bottles (that I guess Gibbs stole back?). Please help. I've never seen 4 (had it spoiled) and I'm trying to do a DMTNT rewrite with an AU stemming from it and I need to make sure I get my continuity right.

Please note, I will be using the compass continuity established in Dead Man's Chest (Tia Dalma barters the compass to Jack).

Tempests in Teacups

New POTC AU!

So whilst chatting online with @thundersongfury at umpteen o’clock in the morning, a new AU was born! 

It’s an afterlife of sorts for the POTC characters, in that nobody's dead, but it's also just a place for them to vibe and chill. In teacups. As chibis. Because they wouldn’t fit otherwise.

They live on a lovely wide wooden table (not all of which is explored).

It’s Calypso’s job to fill the teacups. She takes this very seriously.

Davy Jones supplies the materials- the cups, saucers, drinks, and other such trimmings.

Jack’s original cup cracked (it was Beckett’s fault). Davy Jones got him a new one, a black one, and Calypso keeps it full of- nope! A nice dark coffee with lots of Madagascar vanilla. 

…but she does let him have rum from time to time when he behaves.

Will has lemonade, in a simple utilitarian teacup with a saucer that doubles as his workshop. He likes to share his lemon slices with his friends, especially Elizabeth.

Elizabeth has a pretty floral-patterned teacup full of green tea and honey (and a lemon slice from Will). Sao Feng gave her a little ornamental dragon to twine around her teacup handle, which she is terrifically proud of.

For Barbossa, it’s a dainty porcelain gold-edged teacup full of sherry.

Beckett has white tea, in an elegant teacup with a map of the table painted on it. He's constantly adding to the map and has a bad habit of knocking over other cups so he can get a better view of things.

Norrington had tea first, then rum, but he now has a nice teacup of hot chocolate with a big, soft marshmallow floating in the middle. 

Blackbeard's cup is full of gasoline.

Pintel and Ragetti each have hot water and a single tea leaf in their teacups. They're perfectly happy with this.

Espresso for Carina Smythe, in a blue-painted teacup with tiny stars all over it. Henry Turner, upon tasting a little while visiting, had the zoomies something fierce for about three hours before passing out in her saucer.

Salazar’s cup was broken a long time ago. Not all the shards were found. 

Davy Jones once pushed Jack off the table, but Jack landed on a chair. His friends managed to get to him, and they upturned Jack’s teacup to reach the tabletop again.

Jack and Will once stole a teacup from Norrington, swinging on teabags. They accidentally broke the cup. Norrington was not happy.

Hamilton x Pirates of the Caribbean Crossover

I mean, think about it. The timeline and locations actually line up more than you would think:

Shortly after his birth in 1708, Will Turner and his parents move to North Carolina, where they would live for the next 7 years, until 1715, when his father, Bootstrap Bill Turner, joins Captain Jack Sparrow on the Black Pearl and Will moves with his mother to England.

The main events of Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl take place in 1728, when Jack Sparrow is about 38 years old and Will Turner and Elizabeth Swann are about 20.

Dead Man's Chest and At World's End happen about a year later, in 1729, including Will and Elizabeth's wedding and the conception of their son, Henry Turner, who is born about 9 months later in May(?) 1730.

Hector Barbossa is in his early 60s at the time of the events above, though probably biologically in his 50s, considering his cursed and undead status for a decade prior to COTBP.

On Stranger Tides takes place in 1750, when Jack is about 60 years old and Barbossa is in his early 80s. Dead Men Tell No Tales comes a year later in 1751, when Jack is about 61, the Turner couple are about 43, Henry is about 21, and his new love interest and Hector's daughter, Carina Smyth Barbossa, is about 19.

As the name of the film series suggests, all of the events above take place in the Caribbean, with the original trilogy centering around Port Royal, Jamaica.

Alexander Hamilton is born in 1755 or 1757 in Charlestown, in the Caribbean island of Nevis, only about 60-70 miles south of St Martin, where Henry met Jack in DMTNT. In 1757, Henry would be about 27 years old, his parents would be 49, Jack would be 67, and Carina would be 25. Henry and Carina would probably also have children around Hamilton's age group.

Hamilton moves from Nevis to the 13 American Colonies in October 1772, at the age of either 15 or 17. At this time, Henry would be about 42 years old, his parents would be 64, Jack would be 82, and Carina would be 40.

On April 19, 1775, the Battles of Lexington and Concord begin the American Revolutionary War, an 18 or 20-year-old Hamilton enlisting on the side of the Patriots soon afterwards. About a year later, on July 4, 1776, the American Colonies declare their independence from Britain, forming the United States of America. In the latter date, Henry would be about 46 years old, his parents would be 68, Jack would be 86, and Carina would be 44.

On September 3, 1783, the Treaty of Paris is signed, officially ending the Revolutionary War (which was partly fought in the Caribbean) and cementing American independence. On this day, Hamilton would be about 26 or 28 years old, Henry would be about 53, his parents would be 75, Jack would be 93 (if still alive), and Carina would be 51.

In other words, the events and locations of POTC are close enough to the Revolution that at least Jack and the Turners would have still been alive and young enough and lived and worked close enough to meet Alexander Hamilton and his peers and play an active role in aiding him and the other Patriots in the Revolutionary War, at least at the beginning. They could be doing so to help their family friend Hamilton, free Will's childhood home from oppression, and/or, at the very least, spite the British Empire for all the trouble they've caused them in the past. There's even historical basis for the Patriots (and their enemies) using privateers in the War.

That would be an interesting crossover that I'm surprised to see no one write about yet.

Jack sparrow🍺

If you were feeling down, Jack would walk drunkenly up to you.

He would ask "everything alright love".

You would shake your head, even if you didn't speak. Jack sat up on the Barrell and placed his arm around you.

"C'mon, you can tell ol'jackie what's the matter hm," he smiled, showing his golden teeth.

You spoke about your worries toward Jack, something that's been bothering you for quite sometime.

Jack places his hand around your shoulder while saying, "People can be awful mate, the world ain't full o' nice people, but if it was, you would be the gem they would need".

"The world needs more kindness like you savvy," Jack softly spoke.

Even if Jack may be drunk and chaotic, he was entirely wise with words.

When Jack's down, you would hug him and offer him rum.

You would boast in his ego of adventures and talk to him about sweet nothing's.

Hector Barbossa🍏

You were sitting by yourself when the captain noticed you weren't at your station.

At first, he ordered you to get back to your station however when he saw your tear stains he held his tounge.

Barbossa softly asked, "You right' missy/lad/y/n, what's yer reason fer hangin' tha' jib (pirate term to frown)."

You looked up to Barbossa as if he were your figure of guidance.

You explain your worries and woes to the captain.

"Hm, ye ain't meaningless, ye be sometin' more then most, ye be valuable as treasure" barbossa grinned and winked.

"I know men n' sailors tha' give up too easily, but ye, nay, ye ain't ave' naught any sign o' bein' lily-livered (pirate term for coward) ye be strong, strong enough ta' live through tha' toughest o' moments" barbossa smiled as he showed off his crooked teeth.

With a final comment barbossa joked "least ye ain't three sheets ta' the wind (pirate term for very drunk) like sparrah".

You hug Barbossa, at first he was confused but then he slowly placed his crooked bony hand on your head.

Will turner🌊

Will noticed how you weren't as enthusiastic, since you weren't with elizabeth.

You were staying back on board while Will looks for you. He finds you below the sleeping quarters of the sailors on the pearl.

Will asks gently "you alright y/n, you seem upset".

You spoke to him about your situation, your anxious thoughts and feelings.

Will immediately hug's you and kiss's your forehead. "You mean everything to me, y/n, you're special, and I couldn't ask for anyone better."

"I'm always here for you. you're the reason I'm fighting for you" Will spoke with a passion, your the certain of his universe.

You grip onto Will as if he were a savour toward your needs.

You loved how Will is devoted to you. He wouldn't leave your side until you wished him too.

Henry turner🗺

Henry was looking out over the horizon trying to look up at the stars as carina guided him.

He noticed you were sitting down on the main deck. He trailed down the stairs until he saw your tears.

Henry asked "Hey, you alright, d-do you need anything".

You explained to henry your whole dire feelings and anxious thoughts.

Henry placed an arm on your shoulder "you're a great person. You know what's right and you follow your heart".

"Once we find my father, I'll take you across the seas and set sail like he did" henry smiled, he leaned into a hug; whether it was instinct It didn't matter.

You hugged him back; Henry was the sweetest boy you've ever met.

James was busy scouting the area to capture Jack Sparrow when he noticed you were dreary.

He excused himself from his men and went up to you in a polite manner.

You had tear stains which you tried to wipe away with a hanker chief.

James tried to understand your emotions. "Lady/sir/y/n, may I ask, what is the matter?" he sat down with you.

You explained your grief and feelings toward the situation.

James grew sympathetic. He grabbed your hand in a devoted manner.

"Listen to me y/n, your everything I could've asked for, not many ladies/gents/people capture me like you, I promise to be a devoted man once we settle" he whispered.

"You're a fine woman/gent/person." james smiled, those words reflecting toward what he told someone once.

You hug James. At first, he is hesitant, but later, he leans into you.

He wraps his arms around you like you mean the world to him.

Elizabeth Swann 🏴‍☠️

Elizabeth was manning the helm (pirate term for wheel) while also muttering curses under her breath about Jack.

You were in the corner sniffling, Elizabeth observed the main deck until she recently discovered your crying.

Elizabeth asked jack to take over which he happily obliged.

"Y/n, your crying, are you alright" she asked.

You muttered your feelings and thoughts.

Elizabeth pulled you in, her soft voice soothed you "your perfect. you're the reason I'm strong and I couldn't ask for anyone else."

"You taught me so much, I wouldnt be free if it wasn't for you".

You hug in Elizabeth's grasp. You felt her comfort warm you. She kissed your forehead.

Davy jones🐙

Davy was busy playing the organ until he heard your distressing crying.

He scowls at who dares to disturb him and long behold it was you.

He didn't react. His tentacles curled and twisted as he asked curiously, "An' what bah' yar reasan' far' distur'ban' mah' peace" he snorted.

You explained your troubles and anxious thoughts.

Davy softened hobbling over toward your side. "Aye, I ain't bah' known ta' mankind's kindness, tha' world bah' a cruel place, bah' I would save ya' from tha' terror o' it".

"Yah' a kind soul lass/lad/y/n, me heart belongs ta you-ah" he softly muttered, it's as if for the first time he was showing his soft side.

You hug the tentacle bear of a sailor, he reacted to a stiffness at first but then he raised his hand toward your head.

You allow him to caress your head with his tentacle beard.

Davy snorted out a hefty laugh. "Ah bah, lookin' fer a new farst' mate, an openin' as appened" before he grabs his sword, planning to kill his current first mate for you.

Tia Dalmer🌊

Tia was busy trying out some new brewing of herbs when she heard a commotion.

You were sobbing when she crept up behind you.

"Calm yourself my y/n, what harmful thoughts plague your mind," she said in a soft tone.

You explained your worries, unhappy thoughts and anxious feelings.

"My y/n, you have no reason to fill your mind with thoughts of terror" she kneeled down.

"You are my life, a person of importance to fate, don't doubt your existence because you have a purpose, a purpose to be here."

Tia smiled with warmth. She placed her arms around you. It was like you had found your soul mate.

You hugged her as she elegantly placed her fingers around your cheek.

Cutler Beckett☕

Beckett was busy writing documents toward his business when he heard you crying. He rolled his eyes attending to your needs.

He politely, calmly smiled asking about your problems "might I ask the reason for your sorrows".

You explained the reason, your doubts and insecurity.

"Indeed, feelings are quite distracting, I never dwell on them, the reasons are quite...various" he coldly spoke.

He raised an eyebrow. "Though I suppose yours is valid, I suppose we sometimes loose touch with our side that shows how human we are."

"I beg the question why I keep you around, your a distraction that keeps digging into my pesky mind." He turns to you softly.

"But then I came to the conclusion, you keep me...content, calm when I need it." he turned and placed a hand on your shoulder, "so don't doubt yourself, your of value to me, " he smiled softly.

You hug Beckett in a full manner. He stepped back, though he placed his hands on your back. He was quite unfamiliar to hugs, but at least you brought back the softer side he once had.

Angelica tech👢

Angelica was busy speaking with her father when she heard you.

She whispered calmly, "Care to tell me why you're sobbing on my father's ship".

You explained your feelings and personal thoughts.

Angelica softened, she whispered so her father couldn't hear her "y/n, your the reason I fell in love, sparrow never showed me what it was like".

"I won't let my father touch you. You'll live as my first hand, as my lover" angelica kissed your lips softly.

You kissed her back passionately.

Phillip swift🧾

Phillip was forced to walk with you while everyone else was trying to find a mermaid.

You ponded and sniffled while the crew walked.

Phillip noticed your sadness and draped his coat over you.

"Y/n, you're a wonderful being, a gift from God given onto this planet. Please don't deny anything of doubt as you're perfect," he whispered to you.

He watched to make sure the crew wouldn't listen in toward your worries.

He placed a hand on yours. "I promise, I promise when we leave, I'll give you everything you want," he kisses your forehead.

He tried to help you keep up so you weren't tortured by the crew "they won't touch you, not under gods gaze up in the heavens".

You hugged Phillip as you both walked. However, a man called you out from being too slow.

Phillip, in response, stepped out in front and protected you by pleading, "It was me, I was chatting to her".

Phillip picked you up and started to pick up the pace.

Seryna🧜‍♀️

Seryna had noticed you crying on the shores of white cap bay.

You were alone and hurt, she curiously approached showing her golden tail shining in the moonlight.

"Hurt, you're hurt" she muttered in english.

"Let me help. You helped me by freeing me, I can take you to a far better place, " she held out her hands.

You look back as Blackbeard's crew were scouting for mermaids. You nodded in, hope to find somewhere happier then here.

However, Phillip stabbed the sword into serynas tail.

You push Phillip away even if he didn't mean to hurt the girl on purpose.

"I will go but not yet, you're beautiful, you're the only one who cared, please leave before your hurt, before they find you" you quickly tell seryna.

Seryna leaned up and kissed you fully on the lips before she dove back into the sea whispering "your a kind human."

Carina Smyth🌠

Carina was busy navigating the seas. She was using the Ruby to reveal the map; guiding her through the seas.

You were sniffling on the other deck. She put the Ruby away and headed over toward you.

Carina asked "your upset, are you alright, did jack or Henry hurt you".

You explained your hurtful woes to her.

Carina placed a hand over yours, and she explained "your not alone. Even if you feel you are, look toward the stars."

"I didn't know who my father was, but I know he was an astronomer, so I like to think the stars are a way of him watching over me, so just think the stars are watching over you, if you feel alone" she gently smiled.

You gently hug carina as she gently hugged you back.

Henry and jack were watching over the distance while you spent time with carina.

"I'll show you everything about the stars and science. Trust me, it's not witchery" she joked.

Armando Salazar☠

Salazar was busy scowling over about sparrow, he had been in the dark for so long he forgot what kindness was.

You were weeping in the bay of the main deck, salazar spotted you and wandered over.

He asked. "Mi amore, what brings you great sorrows."

You explained your worries and doubtful thoughts.

"Nah, you see, I let you live for a reason, your meaningful in ways that no living human can see" he spoke in a husk.

"You're mi amore, my love, someone who I can't vanquish easily," he smiled, holding his cold, dead hand to your cheek.

You smiled and held him close, you kissed him even if he was rather dry and cracked.

In response, he was passionately held you close.

Joshamee Gibbs🍻

Gibbs was drinking rum on a Barrell while he was on break. He saw you looking sad, he approached you with a worried look.

"You alright lass/lad/y/n, hangin' tha jib are ya" Gibbs smiled.

You explained all your worries and doubtful thoughts.

"Aye, it ain't a bright feelin', let me tell ya, when I be down, rum be a great solution, though only to sad sailors, how bout' this, I'll speak ta' Jack and ave' ya man tha helm o' tha pearl" Gibbs confendiately spoke.

"Life ain't fair at times, but ye be a winnin' gold mine ta be with'" Gibbs took a swig of rum.

"Aye, it be a pleasure ta' sail wit' yer" Gibbs placed a hand on your shoulder.

You hugged Gibbs as he stumbled yet hugged you back.

Ragetti and pintel 👁💢

Ragetti and pintel were busy debating when suddenly they heard you crying.

They inspected when they saw you, they asked.

"Wha's wit all tha' snifflin'" pintel asked, ragetti joined "yeah's, who's ya frownin' love" he smiled.

You explained your situation to these two and your worriedly thoughts.

Pintel whined, "wha tha's it--" he was elbowed by Ragatti "listen love, we's are sorry for your past, we can't fix it but least we can do is support ya".

Pintel, in response, grunted and looked toward you. "Aye, guess we's lookin' after you's now poppet" he tried to sound comforting.

"We's ain't ad' tha best in life but life gets better, don't it, so don't feel down on yourself, cause its not your fault" ragetti smiled placing a hand on your shoulder.

Ragettis smile wasn't the most greatest thing to look at, but at least he was supportive. "Ye's ain't tha' worst we ad" pintel admitted.

You hug the two, and they were caught off guard. They both awkwardly pat your shoulder.

"C'mon, cap'n wants us," Ragetti smiled while pintel scowled.

POTC: Dead Men Tell No Tales Musical fan concept ACT 2 synopsis

TW: cannibalism (not actually happen), miscarriage mention, brief discussion of maternal mortality, grief and loss, suicide

Act 1 synopsis

The resistance still ongoing, between the living pirates and the bewitched seamen fought against the tyrannical sea witch Morgana and her minions on land of the ruins of the fort and on sea.

At the Queen Anne's revenge, Barbossa patiently waiting for meeting Salazar as La Silencia Maria approaches Revenge and finally met immortal Salazar to destruct the Revenge. Salazar boards on the Revenge and has his men killed the living crew until he gets Jack's location but Barbossa don't know where Jack was. Unfortunately, Salazar orders Barbossa and his crew to find him. Barbossa take Salazar's promise and some of his Barbossa's crew and him travel with Salazar.

At the Dying Gull, Carina having a breakdown. The crewmen watch Jack trying to calm her down and told her everything is okay. However, Carina being paranoid that Jack's about to hurt her, but he actually isn't until she pushed him on the floor. Carina began to realize what she have done to him and starts sobbing and apologizing that she wants to be a good friend to help for Jack and Henry but she felt like she isn't. She thinks it's her fault and Jack mention that she wasn't her fault. Jack comforts her and told the crewmen that he and Carina to be alone.

Back at the Revenge, as Barbossa traveled with Salazar to find Jack, Barbossa takes a different turn to the uprising. Salazar began to realize that Barbossa's turned against him. Salazar forces Barbossa if he takes Salazar to Jack, he'll kill him and his crew. Until Barbossa's tells him that he noticed the Dying Gull ship sailing up ahead. At this moment, Salazar was ready to pursue Jack. Back at the Gull, when Jack feel the sense of Salazar chasing him. Jack made a plan and told his crew that if they want to form a mutiny against Jack for caring Carina "the madwoman" . They agreed and Henry and Carina joined Jack in a row boat to the closest island.

Meanwhile, the uprising is still ongoing, Elizabeth hopes her son and Jack found the most powerful crystal, the Legendary Silver Crystal brought to the still ongoing uprising. Peggy hope if Barbara will be with her after long years of grief and found her "treasure"

At the sea, the three were on a row boat. It wasn't long until La Silencia Maria catches them up. Carina left the boat to the island, then, Henry, and leaving Jack alone until he left the boat and swims.

As Carina, reached the island, as well as Henry and Jack. Luckily, Salazar and his men unable to walk on land because they're cursed. Carina asked Salazar if he was her dad, and he said no. Carina groaned and runs off and Henry went after her. Jack meet Salazar again. Jack said he had enough for him and runs off after two.

As Carina runs off, she gets caught in a trap in a net. Jack and Henry found her and tried to free her until both got knocked out by three people.

At the Revenge again, Salazar and Barbossa got the confrontation. Salazar kill some crewmen until Barbossa tells him that he still got his promise to bring Jack since he can't escape the island. Salazar accepted and free Barbossa and his surviving men. Without Salazar knowing, Barbossa secretly break his promise.

Elsewhere, Jack awakens and found himself being and found Henry and Carina are also tied as well. He finds himself being with the group of deserted pirates who are supposed to go to the resistance and trying to survive on the island. The crew asked the  three who they are and the three introduce themselves. The deserted pirates told them they’re looking for a food to eat to survive. One of the pirate said he will cannibalized the Jack, Henry, Carina and this made the three panic. The three trying to disturbed the deserted pirates to attempt escape. Until, Barbossa rescues three and shots the person who wants to cannibalized the three. Barbossa scolds the deserted pirates not to be jerks to Jack, Carina, and Henry and ask them to search for the silver crystal and bringing them to the uprising and the deserted pirates fully agreed. 

Jack remembers that he has his pearl in the bottle and become aware that he’ll bring his Black Pearl to be restored to life to its original size. Jack and Barbossa together break the bottle and the ran off to the nearest open waters. Barbossa throws the ship to the waters until it grown on its original form. Jack began to his joy for his Pearl was restored until he get encountered by his former lover/FWB, Angelica. Angelica held Jack accountable and began to roast him for what his true intentions are and his reasons why he betrayed Angelica and feeling unsatisfied about that. Jack tried to excuse her but he finally realized what his true intentions are and his actions have consequences that he faced after he betrayed her and apologies for what he done. Angelica forgave him. Jack ask her what happen to their child, Angelica said she got miscarried.

In fact, Barbossa captained Pearl again from Jack and tying him up on mast. Barbossa need someone to navigate the ship. Suddenly, Carina will volunteer to navigate due to her determination of nautical mentored by Jack. While Carina steering the wheel, using her late-mother’s manuscripts, Barbossa noticed his late lover’s journal that Carina hold. Barbossa thought she was his late-lover hallucinated him. He apologized to her for mistaken Carina as her late mother, Margaret. But they quickly realized, Carina and Barbossa suprised that she’s a long lost daughter of Barbossa. Happily, the two tearfully reunited together. Barbossa went up to Jack and told him about Carina's mom and his late lover, Margaret (aka Peggy). Barbossa discussing about what happened to Peggy, he said few days after Carina came to the world, Peggy died of maternal mortality and leaving Barbossa single to raise Carina. And he said that it's difficult to handle grief and loss to raise his daughter and cause him to left Carina at the orphanage so he had slow recover from grief and wish he can be with her from cruel world since he aged. Barbossa went to his daughter and told her about her late mother and what happened to her. He said that her late mother is still with us and he showed his miniature portrait of his late lover to Carina and how beautiful her mother was and gave it to her.

But then, The Royal Navy caught the Pearl until  La Silencia Maria destroyed and attacked the Pearl. Carina went back to the steering wheel and using her late mother's journal and using North Star to guide her to find the island. The two crews battling each other. Barbossa’s arm got cut, Jack got knocked out and his sword flew away, Salazar tried to kill him until Angelica crucify Salazar. Despite Jack and Angelica’s remaining friends, they help to battling with La Selencia Maria crew. Salazar caught Henry and then possesses him. Up until the Pearl lands at Ouranos Island. They got off the ship and went to the seven stands that is supposed to be the open path to the crystal but one stone is missing. Carina pull out the ruby with “p” stands for Polaris and Barbossa said this is for her late mother. She puts the last ruby on the stand and the ocean opens to make a path for the Silver Crystal. Jack and Carina walked up to get the Crystal until Henry was possesses by Salazar strangling Jack and Carina throws the rock at Henry as Salazar got out from him. Carina apologizes to Henry for throwing a rock at him to stop Salazar possessing in him. La Silencia Maria crew attacked the three mortals and Jack is battling off while Henry and Carina quickly get the Silver Crystal. As they get the crystal, the time is running out as the ocean walls began to close. The anchor from the Pearl drops so Jack, Henry, Carina  climbs on the until Salazar caught Henry’s ankle and trying to let it go and leaving Salazar’s crew drowned as the anchor raised back to the ship.

Meanwhile at the uprising set, both mortal and cursed seamen build a barricade and battling of Morgana’s minions and they hope they will be free from her.

Back at the Pearl, they finally brought the Silver Crystal for the uprising. Salazar is sad that all of his men are gone until he saw the crystal that Henry holds. Salazar tried to touch it until it sparks on him and his curse was gone. This surprised the Pearl crew. Carina said from her late-mother’s journal said that legendary Silver Crystal can revive from the curse and Henry said that  they should bring the crystal to the resistance that Calypso said. Jack thinks it’s cool to defeat Morgana and the Pearl sails of to the rebellion. However, Salazar now human was put in cell of the ship as they sail.

At the ruins of the Witch’s fort, Jack and others arrives, Henry carrying the crystal while the rebellion still ongoing. Until, the minions attacks them. The crew began to fought the, however, Barbossa is going to fight them by himself and told the others to go. Carina wants to help him but Barbossa told her and others to go while fighting of and the crew dragged Carina from her father. 

As the crew went to the rebellion where the barricade as at, as the rest of the people still rebelled, the crew saw Morgana battling with the cursed undead men on the sea. Jack calls the witch’s name and the witch teleports at the scene. Morgana was surprised about Jack was here. And then, Jack made a speech about how tyrant Morgana was. He said she shouldn’t silent all the voices of cursed undead men who are dying of being bewitched to charge her powers. Jack told her that her silence is not an answer and he grabbed the Silver Crystal from Henry and show it to Morgana and the crystal cause Morgana hurt and realized it works. Henry is trying to grab Jack's shoulder, the power from the crystal hurt Morgana more. Jack calls everyone come to join Jack together in hold to raise the power  more from the Silver Crystal until it finally defeats Morgana.

Moment later, the bewitched seamen are now finally freed from the curse. The freemen and other living pirates began to rejoice of victory against Morgana. Aside, Carina was deep blue that her father was scarified for her and others before. Angelica came to Carina and comforts her and told her that whether her father is alive or not. Carina began to hope. Henry reunites his parents, Elizabeth is happy to see her son was alive. And then, the Turner couple finally reunites Jack after many years. Elizabeth thanked Jack for helping her son to find the crystal and she said that the crystal must be safely stored. Elizabeth's old friend, Norrington finally reunited after long years. Jack said he was tired and need a hiatus from the adventures he’s been through. Later, Jack meet Salazar and freed him from the cell. Salazar is about to arrested him despite Jack’s still on parole, yet, Jack told him that pirates aren’t just sea criminals but rebellious human beings. This shocks Salazar for a moment for confronted by empathetic and compassion and consequences he faced, he decided to drown himself into deep sea.

Barbossa finally met Peggy in a dark place that is supposed to be an afterlife and happily reunited and walks off. 

Jack happily having a big break. Angelica and Elizabeth taking care of Carina and teaching her how to be self-aware. Carina feel home with others around her. Then, the dinner party is ready with others, the three ladies went to the Brethren Court to celebrate the victory. Henry and Carina fell in love together. 

At least, this not an end, this is the new beginning.
