If she chose to protect Charlie's dream, she would still be perfectly loyal to her but in the act of so would reveal a secret that could harm their relationship(which does happen at the end but that's because the plot wanted it like that). If she chose to side with Adam, she'd be hurting Charlie emotionally, sure, but it would keep a secret that could make Charlie see Vaggie less than who she is to her already(atleast what Vaggie might think would happen). Imo it should've been her deciding to protect Charlie, since it would mean she's devoted to her at all times.

ANOTHER THING! IF SHE COULDN'T MAKE THE CHOICE, THAT IS SOMETHING INTERESTING TO GO INTO. Maybe it could go deeper into how Vaggie doesn't know who she is without Charlie. Sunday's daughter was known by many guests to be Penacony's so-called princess, the next in line to inherit the man's place as the head of the family one day. Another thing she was known for was her chronical illness, which has always made her life rather difficult since birth. Sunday took the challenges with pride and ease, not once treating her like a burden. In fact, he saw her as perfection, a gift from THEM to him for his neverending loyalty and devotion.

He had the best doctors' money could possibly buy lined up for her every need and woe, never a single penny spared on spoiling her either. She could do no wrong, and neither could he in her eyes, which he, ofcourse, ensured of. He took care of her day and night, abandoning his own duties at a simple call for him. It may be a bad habit of his, but alas, his dear child came first at all times.

His daughter is made to believe that no one can take care of her as good as her father can. He is everything to her, and in a way, she also idolises him in turn. It's how he ensures that she stays by his side, where it's safe, and he can protect her from everything... and everyone, ofcourse. That, however, means she'll grow up very sheltered, but it's worth the sacrifice for her health in Sunday's eyes.

With that said, he will stop at nothing to make her a perfect leader for the future of Penacony and her own. He teaches her the ins and outs of the dreamscape's, how to lead with pride and strength under THEIR eyes. He instills the fear and devotion to THEM in her too naturally.

He trusts his daughter with no one. Robin is the only exception, ofcourse. She may not be around often due to her career as an idol, but she LOVES spoiling her niece with tons of gifts whenever she returns from a long tour. She dotes on her and definitely pulls on her cheeks, unable to contain her love and affections. Her heart often aches when she sees the illness in the girl get worse, but she'll try cheering her up with songs and stories of her travels to make her forget the pain even momentarily.

Festivals in Penacony are meanwhile also seemingly solely made for Sunday's daughter, just like basically most expansions in the dreamscape ever since her birth. All the fun things she likes are included in everything one way or another. And whilst children aren't usually allowed in the dreamscape, she is an exception on these special days and occasions. He practically burns himself out to make everything as perfect as possible, just to see his dear daughter smile.

All of his hard and grueling work is worth it through her existence in his life. She is the sun that makes him keep going and retain the warmth in him he was slowly losing due to his responsibilities as a leader and diplomat. Seeing her happy makes him feel deserving to breathe, and so he will do anything to keep it that way.

okay so fantasy au 😭 i needed to ramble

Mrs Curtis was a nymph. Shes kinda like the nymphs in percy jackson, her skin is leaf green (maybe changes colors in the autumn?) and her hair is this sunstricken golden color and she ofc has leaves in it almost always. I also like lowkey wanna say that she has a tail with leaves at the end too-she loved to make flower crowns and maybe she even photosynthesizes? Who knows! I need to draw this concept out

Mr Curtis was a gargoyle. He’s REALLY terrifying looking but once you actually get to know him he’s a huge goofball. He used to pull faces and stuff to make his sons laugh. He had huge bat like wings and a long spiked tail-he had talons too and his eyes would glow bright yellow when he was mad-like ONLY yellow. The pupils and irises were GONE. He taught Darry how to fly!

Onto Darry-he’s a gryphon/human mix? Kinda? Like a centaur but the lower half is a fire gryphon. He was born normal size but VERY quickly grew and ended up being gryphon sized (Like…50+ft in size, gryphons are BIG) and dude couldn’t fit in the house anymore by the time he was like thirteen :( But he’s a fire gryphon so cold doesn’t bother him much. But his wings are kinda flame colored? He has a mane of harness fire around his neck too and the tip of his lion tail is a flame ofc-when he’s mad though the fire flares up and can become harmful. He still roofs houses but he has to be awful careful with his size, though he also gets paid to clear out areas because he’s so big so he can easily sweep stuff. He’s harmless tho, just a big birb/lion boi

Soda is a centaur-his lower half is a palomino colt and his upper half is human obviously. He REALLY likes having his mane and tail played with and sometimes will just flick his brothers with his tail until they give him attention lmao-he is NOT quiet either like you can hear this boy galloping from a mile away. He’s also a big fan of having his tail braided and sometimes will braid it before. work to make sure oil doesn’t get on it. He’s very prideful of his coat though and likes when people give him attention for how shiny his coat is-He hates cleaning his hooves though because it’s hard to do :( Sometimes he’ll nestle into Darry’s wings after a hard day too :(

Pony is a cervitaur ofc-his lower half is a fallow deer (maybe an axis deer…) but this boy is SO prideful of his antler nubs and styles his hair purposefully to make sure there showing at all times. When his antlers actually start growing though he’s really happy except for when leaves and flowers get stuck in ‘em-but this boy is FAST-like 50mph fast. He could outrun Soda any day (I know horses are faster shhh) but he’s so fun. His coat is also super fluffy…his hair is too thanks to being half deer. He definitely sneaks into orchards to steal their food tho and Darry gives him an earful. Something I’m considering is having one of each curtis brother be in control of some element considering their mom was a nymph…Darry’s fire but I have to decide on the others…maybe Soda’s water and Pony’s earth? Idk)

I’m still deciding what I wanna do for Johnny…I’m thinking kraken or something of that nature? But like he can live on land? Idk what I wanna do for him, I wanna have him be opposite to Dally but I dunno how a kraken would fit into Tulsa…Just a big ol water creature…I’ll probably create my own creature thing for him LMAO

Dally’s a dragon. No doubt. He has a dragon form and a semi human “disguise” of sorts…like he has dragon ears, dragon wings and a dragon tail and he has some splotches of scales along his body but his full dragon form is a sight to behold. He’s about Darry’s size in full dragon form and him and Darry have definitely gotten into some •Godzilla vs Kong” esque fights because Dally kept trying to burn down the jail and Darry had to stop him…Johnny was watching (he’s about the same size as Darry too) and he’s just frantically trying to put all the fires out while yelling at adam LMAO-but this boy is so unruly sometimes…also horns. His horns are sharp as a blade (play it cool little brother…sorry-) and he’s not afraid to use them

Two Bit is definitely an imp to me. He likes to try and pull pranks on the Socs a lot-he’s kinda like an evil looking satyr…like he has little goat hooves and he even has a pitchfork but he’s really not and. He’s just a funny guy who wants to scare people sometimes. He’s a bit smaller than average (like…5’6’’) but he’s still trying to be scary. “Careful what you wish for” the dragon hissed. The young hero squirmed under her grasp and she dug her claws into the earth around him. He was clearly a fool, an inexperienced glory seeker, just like so many before.

Bunch of wannabes the dragon thought to herself bitterly. All she wanted was some rest. To hunt. To fly. To find a nice cave to call her own, but she never got more than a week of peace before some knight came galloping up to slay her.

and this one was no exception, his armor gleamed, new from the looks of it. Never used. He had moved clumsily in it, wielding a sword far too big for himself. Arrogance. “Didn't anyone tell you” she snarled as she lowered her head towards him, mouth parting, teeth gleaming with drool. “Heroes don’t get happy endings” the heat rose in her throat, ready to burn the idiot to a pile of ash.

his heart was thrumming under her palm, and she relished in the fear she’d inflict during his last moment. Then, he spoke, and her blood ran cold.

“Please” he whimpered. “I’m sorry” he stuttered. Normally she wouldn’t care. Normally she ignored the begging. But this was not the voice of a hero, nor a knight. Not a voice full of pride and arrogance but one filled with inexperience.

She calmed her flame, loosened her grasp only slightly to allow him more breath and then continued to lean down towards him. He yelped, screamed really, as her teeth came down around him. She gently pulled the helmet from his head. And staring up at her, blue eyes wide and wet with tears, was a child.

A man perhaps by human standards… but a young one even for them. “They would send a child to kill me” she hissed, flames once again warming her throat “Do they think of me as some lowly lizard, some easily dispatched pest” she was roaring now. The young man flinched and she reared back lifting him into the air so they could be eye level. She stared expectantly, she wanted an answer.

“O…of course not. They’ve put a bounty on your head. A huge one! Half the king's treasury even” he spouted.

The dragon clicked her tongue disapprovingly “and you seek to claim such a bounty”?

“Yes,” he whispered.

“So are you a fool, or do you have a deathwish”?

“I’m” he paused, considering his words “I’m desperate. I thought if I could complete this bounty, perhaps life would be different for me”.

“Well, life certainly is different when you're dead” she hissed, making him flinch. Her gaze softened, she lowered her claws and released him. He fell in a heap upon the ground, breathing heavily. “Perhaps consider that before you take any more risks, hmmm”?

He looked up at her, obviously surprised she was letting him go “I… I will”.

Lucile’s heart sank. In her mourning, she had been unknowingly selfish. These past months had been difficult for Josephine too: the wedding, the farming, caring for her parents, living with Silas, complying with his demands, and still finding time to check on her...

"I had no idea," Lucile whispered, "I wish you had told me. I could have been there for you."

Not truly. The threads of gold through skin was a recent aesthetic choice, a replication to make her change easier; to help her resettle into a new body distressingly similar to her own. She wasn’t sure how effective it was, but well…she hasn’t had shaky hands or glitchy visions just yet.

She huffs a needless breath where her lips work against the cables of his neck, pausing to ask; “An enny for your thoughts?” The tilt of his head is a miniscule thing, a quiet acknowledgement that she feels with where her fingers are curled against the hard line of his jaw. He furthers it with an ease in that crushing grip, thumb ghosting circles over her hip as if to soothe the never-forming bruise.

There was some irony there, that he’d be gentler with her in a body that could handle his strength.

In honor of mother's day, how do Alex, Delilah, and Clarke celebrate Mother's Day with Lexa? Does Clarke have anything special planned for her favorite milf when the kids aren't around?

There will actually be, somewhere, a mother's day chapter!

The first Mother's Day with Clarke in the picture, they aren't living together yet. Non the less, she has a nice dinner planned for Lexa and the kids at a fancier restaurant that Lexa always wanted to go but never really had the disposable money to go to, much less with the kids.

The day starts with Alex knocking on Clarke's door. He has Lexa's favorite mug in hand and is there to ask Clarke if he can use her coffee machine to make Lexa's caramel latte, something she rarely indulges on as her morning coffee is usually instant. Clarke has actually gone down to the bakery already to get some croissants for Lexa and the kids so she gives them to Alex to bring too which makes him so happy because he and Delilah were just going to trg their luck with pancakes they hoped they wouldn't burn. He very excitedly tells Clarke about the flowers he bought for his mom and how Delilah had spent an entire day working on making a bracelet with some nice beads aunt Anya secretly took her to get. He really wants to give his mom a good mother's day and Clarke loves hearing how excited he is because Lexa deserves to have her kids spoil her a little like this.

Lexa is woken up by Delilah climbing in bed with her and wishing her a happy mother's day, shyly because she might have gone to bed a little mad at her for some thing that really doesn't matter. Lexa doesnt care, she throws her arm around her little girl and thanks her with a kiss on her head. Alex shows up not long after with a tray with the coffee and the pasteries and the flowers hanging underneath his arm as he tries to walk carefully but still manages to spill a little bit of the coffee. Its too sweet for Lexa and what she assumed is a heart was actually supposed to be bear but its such a sweet gesture that she drinks it all.

The day is uneventful, they get dressed and go for a walk, not before knocking on Clarke's door to thank her for the pasteries and for Clarke to wish Lexa a happy mother's day and making sure they are still on for tonight. Lexa also shows off the bracelet Lilah made for her, with all the pride only a mother can. There is an awkward call to Jenny for the kids to wish her a happy mother's day too, one that leaves Delilah teary eyed because they wont get to see her until next month so she wont get to give her her present until then while Alex just nods and listens to his mom tell him she has a super fun day planned for them, knowing damn well all Jenny will do is be on her phone as she spends time with them. Lexa tells the kids to wish Jenny a happy mother's day for her. Jenny doesnt wish it back despite Lexa being the reason she is a mom. Lexa has long since stopped taking it personally.

Dinner is amazing. The kids behave their best and Lexa has never felt this fancy going on. Clarke gives her a massive bouquet of flowers that makes her tear up and a beautiful necklace with the kids initials on it. Other than her very first mother's day, her ex never once made an effort to give Lexa anything for the day, despite Lexa doing something for her.

Later on at the restaurant is Clarke's time to tear up when Delilah and Alex give her a little card, wishing their bonus mom a happy first mother's day too. God she loves these kids so much and Lexa and the little family she has become part of :')))))

Clarke does prepare a little romantic night. Its a very sweet and soft one, after the kids are in bed and asleep she brings Lexa across the hall to her apartment so they can have some alone time. They make love and Clarke reminds Lexa of how amazing she is, how she loves every curve and every corner of her body that carried those two amazing kids. Before they tune in for the night tho, Clarke disappears in the kitchen, telling her she has a last gift for her. When she comes back with a flat box and throws it in bed Lexa eyes it suspiciously.

When she opens it she burns out laughing at the cheesiest shirt with the most wine mom lettering on it saying "this is what a milf looks like". Its so stupid and Lexa wears it any chance she gets to sleep.

Once again the kids fucking hate it here 🤣

It’s crazy the amount of people who defended this violent troll over a black woman who literally got shot by a grown man. I’ve never seen a domestic dispute where people cancel a victim over a crime that is not only proven, but also completely logical considering his past. I always wonder what My life even myself would of been like if I was never traumatized, or had a rough childhood I know kids have it worse but I loved mine and still living it and it makes me really sad I never got to develop a character or personality for myself . And I feel like I don’t even know who I am

Then I have all these mental illnesses my brain is really messed up I might as well be a lab rat . I have anxiety, Ptsd , Depression and Bipolar with borderline tendencies. And have been through a bunch of different medications and nothing helps . Probably cause omg my brain be more messed up lol

I have a child , she’s my pride and joy but I just suck at this living thing , I don’t have family I’m close to , My mom has memory loss , and my dad started a new life . My sister judges , and basically makes me feel like a failure when I was 12 I asked for help cause I was close with her or so I thought

I told her I think I’m depressed but no one believed me they thought I was just in my head and making stuff up . So when I was forced to go to a hospital they acted like they never knew and I was forced to go to therapy even tho I went before they were mad .

My sister would be angry she’d have to take me and would yell at me if I was sleeping even though I was exhausted and anemic even though I never knew . My dad said I would get him fired and deported because he had to take me to my appointments for my medicine and my therapy .

They always made me feel bad for getting help so I stopped I canceled my appointments and I burned my medication forms . They got worried and sent someone to the house to do a walfare check (at least someone cared ) and they called CPS .

I got in even more trouble… my dad thought I did it then he said I just wanted to put him in even more problems . I’ve attempted quite a few times .. each time has been a fail obviously.

The last time I attempted I ended up in the ICU for 2 days and the security wouldn’t let my sister to see me . At least they see how she is. Before I was taken to the ER my sister told my dad I told a whole bottle of sleeping pills and she was only telling so she had a clean conscious of anything happened to me .

I later called her to ask if she would take me tot he hospital I was numb and wouldn’t stand and was seeing double , she wouldn’t take me , she told me to tell my dad , well it took me about an hour maybe not sure to ask , I was so scared of my dad and my dad screamed at me and I threw up and he yelled at me even more because I threw up on the floor.

He was a neglectful dad as well, that's why he didn't say anything to Michael about bullying Evan. He tought that Evan would eventually "man up" and stand for himself...he didn't.

When the bite of '83 happened he was livid

He was pissed at Michael, that was the first of many many times he would raise his hands against Mike.

When he killed Charlie, his target was actually Sammy (if William couldn't have his little boy then Henry couldn't either), it just so happened that Charlie was outside the restaurant and he took that chance.

When he noticed the puppet acting weird he realized Charlie´s spirit must have being doing something to it (that's how he discovered remnant)

Thought that if he could get more remnant, he could bring Evan back, so he built Baby and the funtimes.

When Elizabeth got yoinked by Baby he finally snapped, he couldn't bear to look at the funtimes, especially Baby.

The day of the MCI he was angry at all those kids enjoying the party, when he spotted Susie. He wasn't taking remnant for Evan or Elizabeth anymore, he wanted to be immortal.

When he sent Michael to Circus Baby's he knew damn well that he was sending him to his certain death.

He went to the abandoned Freddy's to see if he could get more remnant infused parts to become immortal.

Got springlocked at age 46 (hahah, get springballed peepaw)

Little detail, he didn't put on the suit out of fear of ghosts (since all ghosts were with Michael), he saw the spring bonnie suit, put it on just to rejoice in the "memories" and since the building was leaking and the suit had been rotting there for ages without any maintenance at all, the suit failed and killed William

That's when the MCI + Evan joined him

Shortly after getting fired, Elizabeth's spirit joined him, after she had a fight against the other spirits inside Ennard

At Fazbears Fright he was disgusted at just how his father ended

Released the MCI minus Cassidy when he burned Fnaf 3's location

Opened FFPP with Henry knowing damn well he would burn as well

When he sees Gregory his dad instincts kick in, he goes into "Dad Mode", he knows Gregory is not Evan, but he looks just like him and hes a big softie (He also knows that, if he's back, something went clearly wrong)

1) What OTPs in your fandom(s) do you just not get?

I'm gonna say it, Berkut/Rinea. I used to like it but my opinion of it soured a lot over the years, partly because they don't have that good a chemistry in hindsight (with Berkut being too arrogant and self-centered and Rinea showing doormat tendencies, and that's before everything starts going to hell. Also Rinea girl you hate violence but you're getting married to the "crown" prince of Rigel who takes his prowess in battle as his biggest pride? What??) but mainly because of just how shoddy the writing is.

Because once you realize that Rinea's entire existence is to act as Berkut's moral compass and could be replaced by a literal object he loves dearly but tosses into the fire in Act 5, it's over. Rinea's not allowed to be her own person, all her scenes are with Berkut and about Berkut, and she's not even allowed to have any sort of negative feelings about him even after he burned her alive.

I say this as a huge Rinea fan, but she's barely even a character in canon and these two are strangled by the red string so hard, which I feel is why the few times I'm writing about their relationship is always in the past (both in Socially Distant and in Rinea Survives Act 5)

At this point I'm baffled so many people love the pair when it's this poorly written, although I feel a big part of it is that they look good together in art.

2) Are there any popular fandom OTPs you only BroTP?

...Do Corrin's ships with their siblings and Azura count? I feel they sadly count. Other than those, I am so going to get lynched for this but I always viewed Ike as aroace, which means I like Ike/Soren as a QPR but not romantically.

Soren is definitely gay for Ike tho.

6) Has fandom ever ruined a pairing for you?

No, not really. Although seeing too much of a pair I don't care about (especially when I'm looking up a single character for either art or meta of just them and I see nothing but shipping content) definitely makes me get really annoyed by it.

Other flirty Book Incident things:

-Vergil cutting Abbie's red dress into something easier to move around with using Yamato. It's not a quick thing either, because he needs to make sure he gets both sides of what he cuts (the front and back of the dress, and around the holes for the arms, potentially). He makes it clear beforehand that he's not going to cut it into anything lewd or use this as an opportunity to be a creep, "because I'm not some juvenile scum- I can be professional. Just tell me what you need.", even tho Abbie blushes quite a bit while he does this. Both because she finds it hot having a pretty guy cut her out of (some of) her dress, but mostly because she finds he actually is being a gentleman about it. The former is dependent on the latter, honestly, my brain is just kinda soup rn. She can actually trust him, which is what makes it so hot.

And... he's surprisingly gentle and careful with her. Professional, but gentle. From his perspective: Even with him trying to keep a professional mindset, he finds himself wanting to touch her more than he needs to, to let his touches linger on her skin. He manages to keep himself from leering at her, to his credit, because he still has his pride, damn it, and its rude to leer at a lady, but every professional touch just makes him crave more contact. Because her skin is so nice, and warm, and soft, and even when he's only touching fabric, his fingers still itch for more.

Just. Some Victorian romance/Jane Austen levels of "physical touch is a Big Deal"/"longing, romantic touches". Like, Vergil's rubbing or itching at his hand(s) after he touches her or helps her with the tailoring project, because his mind keeps going back to that and running around in stupidly happy circles, replaying the warmth and feel of her skin on his over and over and over again, hungry for more. Like, he ends up accidentally holding her hand after the tailoring is done, and after they both awkwardly realize it and let go, he ends up having to quickly turn himself away from her and walk a few steps away, because damn him, he's actually blushing. He can feel his face heating up and his ears burning, and KNOWS he's blushing, and just kinda has to hope like hell that he's far enough away that Abbie doesn't notice it too.

It's just because he took his gloves off at the start of the tailoring, he tells himself. "It helps if I can feel what I'm doing." And it does, because you need to feel how the fabric moves and tears when you cut it, especially if its a fabric you're unfamiliar with, so you don't accidently cut too much or rip something accidentally where the fabric is worn thin. That and holding pins and trying to manipulate a pair of scissors while wearing fingerless gloves just feels awkward. (Or it does to me, anyway.) So having the gloves off DID help him tailor her dress better. But it also meant that he could feel more than he usually could whenever he touched her. The texture of the fabric, sure, but also the warmth and softness of her skin under his hands, and-

Foolishness. Utter foolishness. And unprofessional. And he damn well knows that. So he just sorta shoves his gloves back on and buries those thoughts in a drawer somewhere in the back of his mind, because damn it, they do not matter right now. They could still be attacked by demons at any moment. He should be Concentrating, not getting soppy over some girl. Even if she is... interesting. And clever. And nice. And he's being stupid again, damn it.

Back to practical tailoring matters: Vergil uses small Summoned Swords (knives, really) to cut smaller areas that would be harder to reach with his sword, like if Abbie needed him to cut the sleeves off and maybe widen the armpit holes so she could move her arms more freely. Maybe Summoned Scissors and Summoned Sewing Pins, too, idk. I'd imagine that just a regular Summoned Knife from him could cut through just about any fabric, even leather, but this is a messy sort of tailoring, so that might make things more complicated.

She keeps the scraps he cut off, just in case they turn out to be useful later. "Because demons track by scent, right? So maybe I can leave a false trail with this?" She'd also try tossing/pouring a whole bottle of perfume she had in her purse at a demon, in the hopes that the smell would make it harder for the demon to track her by scent. It's no peppermint or aniseed oil, but it's better than nothing, right? Vergil appreciates her ingenuity.

Speaking of Abbie's clothes: I'm so tempted to have the red dress she wore at the start (I'm going with the theory that she's the woman in red that we see in Vergil's opening cutscene in DMC4 SE) be just the outfit she wore to walk around sight seeing after initially dropping it off at the Fortuna library, with plans to come back either later that day/night, or in a few days, to see if they have any new information about the book for her. Or at least until they can see that yes, it really does drip a tub full (maybe more) of blood every full moon, and no, Abbie wasn't just making that up because its written in an old, possibly dead language and constantly reeks of sulfur. Mostly because I feel like if she was going to go back to deal with a potentially evil demonic book, she'd wear something more practical than a dress. Pants, for one thing. Stuff thats sturdy and easy to move around in. She'd be wearing leggings and boots with her dress, but I'm not sure if that would be enough.

Same goes for her playing tourist, honestly, because if you're going to spend hours walking around a town looking at statues and such, you want something that's easy to move around in. A dress doesn't strike me as that- but then, I've never really been one for dresses, so maybe a dress WOULD fit that criteria, Idk. If it doesn't, I could see her stealing some clothes off of any people that might of gotten killed in the first demon attack from the book. I also want to give her like, a backpack or a big purse to lug around, either as something she brought with her to play tourist/be prepared to deal with weird book shit, or as something she found in the Fortuna library. Or the library break room, or whatever. I've never actually been in any sections of a library that were "staff only", mostly I've just stayed where all the bookshelves are, so I don't really know what all Abbie would be able to find. I know people leave all sorts of things in the library, tho, especially if they work there. So maybe she'd be able to find a backpack or something like that there? And food and water, she'd go scrounging for those too, after the demons first attacked.

-I'm going with the idea that silver works against demons (largely from the novels and manga, but Lucia's throwing knives in DMC2 are stated to be silver), and Abbie wore some silver jewelry to Fortuna because she wanted to look nice on her business trip. It's not anything fancy, really, no diamonds or anything, just in case she lost it or had it stolen, but it's nice enough to look pretty- and its actual silver.

Side note: Silver doesn't really do anything to Vergil, btw. The most it'll do is give him a mild rash, and that's only if it's been touching his skin for an hour or more. Holy Water still burns like acid, tho. It won't make his skin dissolve on contact, like Holy Water will with lesser demons, but it still HURTS. It still makes his skin blister and bleed, and it slows down his healing factor. The damage from the Holy Water still heals to like a bad sunburn within an hour or so, normally. Faster if he uses his Devil Trigger, especially if he's somewhere close to the Underworld.

Back on topic: I could see Abbie trying to figure out a way to use the silver to defend herself. The thing I think she might settle on using would be a baseball bat or a broom handle wrapped in the silver chain of her necklace. Not sure how much good that would actually do her as a weapon, but she'd want something to whack the demons with if they got too close. Or maybe her wrapping the silver chain around her knuckles as an improved knuckle duster. Still not great, and punching a normal person hurts no matter what you do, but she's determined, damn it. Also, maybe Vergil wrapping her hands with long strips from what they cut off of her dress? To help keep her from hurting her hands through their little demonic adventure. (Also because more hand touches 👀)

Anyway, Vergil and Abbie are having a... lets call it "sparring match", but really its just Abbie brainstorming and Vergil letting her touch him, mostly so he can show her how fast demons can move. All he really does is dodge or gently tap her to let her know how easily she could be hit. He's got his jacket off to make moving around easier, and he doesn't miss the way she blushes as he slides it off, or the way she stares at the muscles on his arms. Beyond smirking at the attention and maybe teasing her, tho, I don't think he'd really do anything. (He really is having fun flirting with her, to his suprise. Largely because she doesn't push him for anything more. Although he's starting to wonder if he'd mind if she did... It'd have to depend on how she did it. Not "demanding" more, but just... asking. Just asking might be alright.)

She tries wrapping the silver necklace around Vergil's wrists as a way to restrain him, with his hands bound either in front of him or behind him. I'm tempted to go with in front of him, just so Abbie can practice whatever knot she needs to use to bind his hands. Assuming the silver chain of a necklace is even long enough to bind someone's hands with. Depends on the length of the chain, I guess, I'm just not sure what the minimum length would need to be. Hmmm. *makes a note to research later*

Anyway. Vergil holding his "bound" wrists up in front of her as a way of showing her how thin the silver chain is on his wrists, and telling her how easily he could snap it.

Vergil: "This wouldn't work. One, because the chain is too thin and flimsy. Look at this." [holds his wrists up for her to see] "I could snap this like a bit of old string. And two -" [And here, Vergil puts his bound wrists behind her head, trapping her neck between his lower arms, pulling her towards him] "-you're too close.* If you let a demon get this close to you, they can rip you to shreds before you can get away."

Abbie, flustered by trying to focus and think: "So... stick with throwing knives and polearms, then?"

Vergil: "And running for your life."

Abbie, shrugging: "Well, yeah, obviously."

Put a little * there to indicate where these thoughts would be, but didn't want to break the flow of the text. Those thoughts are: Vergil's pretending to be professional here, is trying to KEEP himself professional, but he can't stop staring at her blushing face and admiring how she's still trying to take in what he says and come up with a solution even through her own flustered feelings. He tries to ignore the fact that he can feel how her pace quickens from where the skin of his lower arms is pressed against her throat, can feel her slight gasp when he pulls her closer to him, can feel how warm her skin feels against his. How he can smell her scent, even through the stink of the demons they've been fighting. Can't stop thinking about how close they are, how easy it would be to move his bound hands lower, behind her, down her back, and pull her just a bit closer to him. To bend down until their foreheads touched and he could, if she let him, just lean down and kiss her.

He can still taste her blood on the back of his throat, even past the foul, bitter taste of the demon blood he licked off her hand (or arm), to keep the demon's blood from hurting her any further. That taste and her scent, so close, is enough to make his mouth water with an entirely different - and for Vergil, largely unfamiliar - hunger.

What would kissing her taste like? What would it feel like? What would it feel like if he slipped his tongue into her mouth, sliding it against hers and breathing in her moans? He's read romance novels where the characters talk about that like it's the best thing in the world, and before now he's never seen the appeal. Would it really feel that good, if he tried it now, here, with her?

And then he chides himself for getting distracted again while there's still demons to worry about, and lets her go and tries to get his mind back to business.

Basically just demisexual demiromantic Vergil go brrr. He's used to his usually low libido being distractingly Annoying when it does act up, but he's not used to actually looking at a person and feeling sexual attraction to them. At this point in his life, he doesn't really have the words to label his own sexuality and romantic inclinations, or lack thereof, so this is all kinda new and confusing to him. What's even stranger to him is that he actually does enjoy flirting with her. Its actually kind of fun! And he actually does like being with her. Which- he usually just avoids people by default, so that's kinda a novelty for him.

-Abbie being good at throwing knives because her aunt and uncle-in-law are traveling carnies and she learned how to throw knives from the knife throwers there. She can throw knives while wearing roller skates, too, even, tho probably only if the targets are stationary balloons filled with glitter. As for why she went with being a librarian rather than a carnie:

Abbie: "Just think of it as sort of like... growing up in the theater, but with more glitter and clowns and Ferris wheels. I just found I liked the stories more than the performing. I kept the knives, though. I always liked being able to do that. Very useful. Even against demons, apparently."

I'm not sure if she'd of been able to bring throwing knives with her, since she came to Fortuna on a business trip, or if she'd of been able to find any on anyone after the first demon attack. I could see Vergil giving her her own set of Summoned Throwing Knives, tho- kinda like Mirage Edge, but as throwing knives instead of a greatsword. I could see Abbie handling them and throwing them and being shocked at how light they are, and how easily and how deep in they go into a target once she throws them. Her throwing one for the first time and putting way more strength into it than she needs to, because it was so light in her hands she thought it was going to be like trying to throw a piece of paper at someone, with the Summoned Throwing Knife just gently, uselessly fluttering to the ground in the vague direction she threw it in. But it doesn't! It flies straight and true and buries itself so deeply in that she can't even see the hilt sticking out anymore.

Cue Abbie giving a delighted little gasp and clapping (happy stimming!), saying she loves them. And maybe hugging Vergil while thanking him, because, well. Because it's been a very weird time, and she's just so relieved and happy to actually have a decent weapon that she can use, and actually knows HOW to use. And because she loves a good set of throwing knives. Vergil lets her hug him, but is kinda awkward about it. They're both awkward about it, honestly, once Abbie realizes what she's doing (hugging him). Cue various amounts of blushing from both of them, and Abbie letting go and them both awkwardly trying to pretend that didn't happen. Abbie still thanks him again for the throwing knives, tho, because she really does appreciate it. Abbie, admiring her new knives and grinning: "They're beautiful."

-Might nix this one later, but: Abbie seeing Vergil's DT form and, after a brief flinch and a check that its still him, her telling him it looks pretty and her being fascinated by it. She tries not to pry, because he's a person, damn it, not an experiment or a new book to study... but he just looks so cool! So pretty! And she has so many questions! But she holds back, because this is a more... personal topic for him than just general info on demons. Vergil doesn't stay in DT form for long, tho, even so.

-Idea for the Boss Battle from the book: Gonna be unoriginal and go with it being some sort of demon made of blood, like the Blood-goyles from DMC3. Just because I can't imagine anything more annoying than trying to cute what is essentially a giant blob of liquid/blood. Might change it to something cooler later on, because that feels kinda lame, especially as a boss for Vergil.

-I'm also toying with the idea of Vergil and Abbie getting sucked into a demiplane (think like a fucked up Escher painting, but with bookcases, sorta like Hermaeus Mora's Apocrypha) within the book and having to kill the demon (the giant blood blob) sealed within the book to get out again. Mostly because it lets me fuck around with time more, since maybe time could move differently within the book, compared to outside it. Three days inside the book, three minutes or three hours outside of it, that kind of thing. I guess it depends on how much bonding time they'd need.

-Vergil giving Abbie a Summoned Knife (not a throwing knife, something bigger- a dagger?) and Abbie using it to kill a demon. She'd of made sure that this demon's blood wasn't acidic/toxic to humans first, but:

Her falling to the floor at just the right moment to be under a demon while it was leaping at her in midair, and her taking that opportunity to use one of her Summoned Knives to slit its belly open. She had to close her eyes and mouth tight and turn her face away as soon as she felt the knife make contact, so she didn't get warm, disgusting demon blood and viscera all in her mouth and eyes, and she still got covered in so much of it she couldn't talk until Vergil had helped her scrape the blood off her face, but it worked. Hurray!

Also, maybe Vergil helping her kill the demon (if Abbie slitting it open like that wasn't enough to fully kill it, or if she couldn't cut deep enough with just a knife) by turning her Summoned Knife into a Summoned Sword mid-slice? Just because it'd cool to see that.
